CDTShareTweetShareShare2019 NFL Draft Results: Houston Texans Select Charles Omenihu With The 161st Overall PickBen Queen-USA TODAY SportsWith the 161st pick in the 2019 NFL Draft the Texans select Charles Omenihu in the fifth round. ESPN had the following to say about the Omenihu. NFL.com had the following to say:Raw. Flashes. Develop. Yep. Traits. Potential. BINGO. I, like the rest of you, am looking forward to playing the video and looking at his game in more depth. The Texans will pick again in the sixth round with the 195th overall pick. The second-year receiver should be a vital weapon."The Houston Texans are shallow at several positions. Most of all, the offensive line and cornerbacks are thinner than flatbread pizza. One position that they will not have to worry about is wide receiver.Nobody needs an explanation on DeAndre Hopkins. We all know what he brings to the table. Will Fuller’s season ended with an ACL tear on a Thursday night home game against the Miami Dolphins in late October. Coach Bill O’Brien said Fuller was on a “good track” in his recovery process. Barring a major setback Lamar Miller Jersey , we can expect the Desean Jackson clone to be ready for Week 1.The key this season might be Keke Coutee.Last we saw of the receiver from Texas Tech, he caught eleven balls with a touchdown in the Texans’ playoff loss to the Colts.Coutee dealt with hamstring injuries through training camp and did not play in one preseason game. The issue lingered into the regular season. He was only able to play five total games including the playoffs. To paraphrase, O’Brien stated that the injuries were a result of Coutee training for the combine and having a tough transition to football training.Coutee is an undersized receiver, standing a mere 5 feet 11 inches and weighing about 180 pounds. He is an agile receiver who is a slot weapon. His skill set is that of a slightly larger Taylor Gabriel. He is great for screen passes Arian Foster Jersey , dump-off passes, and running the end-around.His value to this team will come by keeping the defense honest. Instead of dropping back in coverage, Coutee is shifty enough to draw the attention from linebackers or nickel corners. Teams will care more to cover the short-middle routes and the flats. The second-year receiver can also be a nightmare against the blitz if used properly. O’Brien and offensive coordinator Tim Kelly will have to understand how to effectively utilize Coutee. If Fuller comes back to full health, that means teams will have to drop a safety deep to prevent him from blowing the top off. Hopkins will take away the team’s most physical corner and he will see a lot of double coverage. That puts Coutee in a position where he will see one-on-one matchups from the Patrick Robinsons and Desmond Kings of the world. Because of the personnel around him Andre Johnson Jersey , he can earn a living from short routes and dump offs. His quickness was on display last season in a small sample size. He showed his promise, and he should be fresh and ready to play in 2019. It will now be up to O’Brien and Tim Kelly to properly scheme for his abilities.

The Lions have been aggressive since the outset of free agency Amani Oruwariye Detroit Lions Jersey , and now they’ve made another aggressive move, becoming the first team to sign a restricted free agent to an offer sheet.Detroit signed Rams restricted free agent running back Malcolm Brown to an offer sheet, according to multiple reports.Restricted free agents usually don’t garner a lot of attention in free agency, but the Lions apparently think Brown is a player who can be productive in their offense. The Rams will have five days to either match the Lions’ offer and keep Brown, or decline to match the offer and let him go to Detroit.Brown entered the NFL as an undrafted rookie and the Rams tendered him only at the original-round level, so the Lions would not have to give any compensation to the Rams if the Rams don’t match the Lions’ offer.Last year Brown had 43 carries for 212 yards before suffering a season-ending injury in Week 12. ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — Kerryon Johnson has been a bright spot for Detroit in a season with plenty of struggles. Now the Lions are finally coming off a win — but Johnson exited that victory with a left knee injury.Detroit's rookie running back went down in the second half of Sunday's win over the Carolina Panthers Amani Oruwariye Jersey 2019 , and although the Lions had to be pleased to snap a three-game losing streak, they face a daunting task over the next couple of weeks. Detroit has a short turnaround before its Thanksgiving game against Chicago — not a great situation for a player recovering from an injury — and then the Lions face the Los Angeles Rams.Johnson has boosted Detroit's previously moribund running game. He has rushed for 641 yards on the season — more than anyone on the Lions managed last season — but it's not clear when he'll be able to play again."Not sure what his situation is, but we've dealt with it in other areas on our team before. Just next guy up, let's go," quarterback Matthew Stafford said."We have a bunch of guys in that room that are talented. If they need to play more, they'll play more. If they don't, then we'll roll with what we have."Detroit was already without wide receiver Marvin Jones (knee) against Carolina. Then Johnson left the game Amani Oruwariye Jersey Womens , but the Lions were able to win anyway thanks to some big catches by receiver Kenny Golladay.Detroit (4-6) still faces an uphill climb to make the playoffs. Its next two games are at home but against first-place teams. If Johnson isn't available, the path becomes even tougher."We'll take it day by day. We'll see how it goes," coach Matt Patricia said Monday. "We just have to stay even keel with all of it and make sure we prepare like we're just pushing forward."Johnson leads the Lions with 118 carries. LeGarrette Blount has 78 and Stafford has 21. No other Detroit player has more than nine. Blount is averaging only 2.3 yards per attempt."Certainly, Kerryon has a skillset that's great, just like a lot of our other guys do," Patricia said. "I think we have good players, we have dynamic guys Youth Amani Oruwariye Jersey , guys that can make plays in different ways and it's not cookie-cutter. Football is not that way. When you have a different player that's in and in the same position, it doesn't mean that they can do the same thing. You have to be able to adjust."The Lions could always bring in someone from outside the organization to help at running back, but there's not much time before the next game.Running back Zach Zenner, who signed with the Lions earlier this month, could have a bigger role now. Zenner has played sporadically for Detroit since the 2015 season — he had 88 carries in 2016."No matter what it means for me, it's always disappointing to see a teammate get injured," Zenner said. "Kerryon's a good teammate White Amani Oruwariye Jersey , good person, good friend. So it's certainly tough to see him have an injury. I don't know what the situation is. Hopefully he'll be back, ready to go, but if not, I'll be ready to do whatever I'm asked."

Keith Mumphery was drafted by the Texans in 2015 and played for them until 2017 Seantrel Henderson Jersey , when he was abruptly released after news broke that he had been banned from Michigan State’s campus over an accusation of sexual assault. Mumphery has always professed his innocence, sued Michigan State, and after a lawsuit settlement revoked that ban from campus, he’s asking for another chance in the NFL.Mumphery said he knows the Texans felt, at the time, like they couldn’t have a player on their roster who had been accused of sexual assault, but he hopes that now the Texans or some other team will see things differently.“It’s all love for the Texans,” Mumphery told the . “I understand why they released me Lamar Miller Jersey , it was bad PR for them at that time. They gave me the opportunity of a lifetime. I understand the NFL is a business. I appreciate the opportunity they gave me. It’s something I always dreamed of as a little kid. I thank them for the opportunity. They saw something in me. I was the first person from my hometown to go to the NFL. Now, it’s about getting a second chance.”Mumphery said he’s in good shape and ready to sign with any team that will have him.“My body is young,” Mumphery said. “I don’t drink or smoke. I eat healthy. I have a 22-year-old’s body. I’m leaner and I have more mobility. I’m hungry now. I’m a lot better physically and athletically. I’m not the same me. I’m 100 times better.Realistically, Mumphery’s chances aren’t good. He was a wide receiver averaging less than one catch per game, and now he’s been off the field for two years. But all it takes is one team to give him a chance on a 90-player roster. Voters broke a logjam at cornerback, and began working on the glut of offensive linemen, as three first-time eligible finalists were voted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Saturday.Tight end Tony Gonzalez, safety Ed Reed Jadeveon Clowney Jersey , and cornerback Champ Bailey made it through in their first year, and were joined in the class by cornerback Ty Law and center Kevin Mawae.Mawae and Law were in their third year of eligibility. They were joined by a pair of contributor nominees (Broncos owner Pat Bowlen and former Cowboys scout Gil Brandt), along with one seniors nominee (Chiefs safety Johnny Robinson).Without a truly controversial nominee (such as Paul Tagliabue or Terrell Owens), the meeting moved at a quicker pace than recent years, lasting seven hours, 50 minutes. While sometimes players at the same position can cancel each other out, it didn’t become an either-or decision on Law and Bailey. Mawae was able to push through a crowded field of blockers, as tackle Tony Boselli and guards Alan Faneca and Steve Hutchinson were in the final 10 Johnathan Joseph Jersey , along with safety Steve Atwater and running back Edgerrin James. Those eliminated in the first cut from 15 to 10 were coaches Don Coryell and Tom Flores, wide receiver Isaac Bruce, defensive end Richard Seymour, and safety John Lynch. The offensive linemen, James, and Atwater stand a decent chance next year, as the group of first-time eligible players isn’t as strong as years past. Safety Troy Polamalu leads the list, along with wide receiver Reggie Wayne and linebacker Patrick Willis. A deeper group is coming up in 2021 Charles Omenihu Houston Texans Jersey , when Peyton Manning, Charles Woodson, and Calvin Johnson will be eligible.

The Houston Texans finally played a team that can throw the ball competently. The Indianapolis Colts also happened to be the last team Houston played that could do this. That Colts team also hadn’t settled on an offensive line, lost a fumble in the end zone, had Andrew Luck strip-sacked by J.J. Watt that became an offensive touchdown, lost T.Y. Hilton in the third quarter, and still managed to lose 37-34 in overtime, after an absurd Frank Reich fourth down decision. This time, things were different. The Colts threw the ball downfield Justin Reid Jersey , as Andrew Luck found T.Y. Hilton, Eric Ebron, and Zach Pascal. Luck had 399 passing yards and averaged 9.7 yards an attempt. Hilton had 9 catches for 199 yards. Ebron had 4 catches for 65 yards. Pascal had 5 catches for 68 yards. The Colts’ offensive line allowed pressure, but Watt, Jadeveon Clowney and the rest had trouble bringing the big boy down. When the Colts threw the ball, they were unstoppable. Luckily for Houston, Frank Reich ran the ball at silly times and put Indy in longer third downs. The Colts picked up only 2.6 yards a carry. It all came down to 3rd and 1 with two inutes left. The Colts came out in a heavy offensive formation Johnathan Joseph Jersey White , alluding to a run play, and Luck was able to pull Clowney off the line to give the Colts a first down, sealing this game shut. The Texans almost came back after being down ten late. Deshaun Watson led a touchdown drive at the end of the fourth and found DeAndre Hopkins in the back of the end zone to make it 24-21. Overall, Houston’s offense was fine; it just wasn’t good enough to get past the 21 point mark, a mark that had been enough in the previous nine games. The Texans were up against a defense that’s good, that no one realizes is actually good. The run game struggled. Watson had trouble finding anyone open. The Colts’ weak side defensive back blitzes were diabolical and kept Watson in the pocket. This game isn’t the end of the world. That orange orb will be up tomorrow. This marble will keep spinning. The Texans are still favorites to win the AFC South. The problem is that this team is going to be in the NFL Playoffs. In the playoffs, they’ll have to play even better passing offenses. The Chargers Womens Lamar Miller Jersey , Steelers, Patriots, and Chiefs can all throw it better than Indy can. That will be another day. Next week, the Texans play the Jets on Saturday December 15th at 3:30 CST.

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY SportsThe question for 2019 isn’t ‘Are the Packers better?’ They are. How much better? If we go by how the oddsmakers feel about, the answer is significantly better. Right now, the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook has Green Bay tied for third-best odds in the NFC to win the Super Bowl at 14-1. In other words, if you bet $100 on the Pack, you’d win $1,400 — not a bad pay day. Only the Rams and Saints at 8-1 boast shorter odds http://www.packerslockerroom.com/authentic-ray-nitschke-jersey , while the Eagles and Bears each stand at that same 14-1 figure. While being a public team could be skewing those odds a little, the win total numbers (which could also be affected by public money) have the Packers in that same range. Westgate set the over for the Rams and Saints at 10.5, with the Eagles at 9.5 and the Bears tied with the Packers at 9, along with the Vikings and Cowboys. Vegas thinks the Bears are slightly more likely to hit that over based on the line, but Green Bay stands ahead of Minny and Dallas in that regard (for more of an explanation into that, click here). Certainly the NFC East’s cellar props up Philly’s potential win total, while the NFC North hurts. In short Womens Lane Taylor Jersey , the Packers appear clearly to be viewed as in the mix to compete for an NFC Championship, shaking off the ugliness of last season with a revamped roster, a new coaching staff, and an altered outlook for the future.

Offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian spent the offseason Barry Sanders Jersey , training camp and preseason fine-tuning an Atlanta offense that's expected to be elite in his second year. When the Falcons and Eagles open the NFL regular season Thursday night in Philadelphia, Sarkisian will be back in his role as play-caller, giving him a chance to move past some of the disappointment of eight months ago."To say that we had a fourth-and-goal at the 2 against the team that went on to the win the Super Bowl and it was a bang-bang play tells you that we're very close, and it's been this offseason of getting over that hump," Sarkisian told The Associated Press this week."So we're very hungry and looking forward to the opportunity."Sarkisian's first season wasn't exactly a bust. The offense led the NFL in third-down percentage and ranked eighth in passing as Atlanta went 10-6 and won a wild-card playoff game at the Los Angeles Rams. But the Falcons dropped from first in scoring to 15th. Quarterback Matt Ryan, the league MVP the year before, threw 18 fewer touchdowns, was intercepted five additional times and had his passer rating fall over 16 points from the NFL's best.Even worse, the offense developed a reputation for being predictable. Atlanta scored its only touchdown in the divisional playoff game after the Eagles lost a fumble at their 18-yard line. The Falcons, who were favored to win Michael Roberts Jersey , went scoreless in the second half.Yet they still had a chance to sneak away with a win before it all fell apart at the 2.With the ball on the left hash mark, the Eagles said they knew the call before the snap as soon as tight end Levine Toilolo motioned right across the formation . They had only one half of the field to defend as Ryan rolled right and came under quick pressure.Julio Jones, the star receiver and obvious target, fell down in the right side of the end zone, but got up quickly enough against cornerback Jalen Mills to turn and face the quarterback. Ryan lofted up a perfect pass. The ball went through Jones' hands .Sarkisian, a former head coach at Washington and Southern Cal, has been through similar moments before, but this was his first big test as a coordinator in the NFL. He said he did the best he could."You put together a plan throughout the week and you get into situations and things are going accordingly, you trust the plan," he said. The Falcons are hoping to improve in Sarkisian's second year the way they did in the second season of his predecessor Taylor Decker Jersey , Kyle Shanhan, who called the plays that helped Atlanta win the 2016 NFC title.Sarkisian said he feels more comfortable this time around, and it's obvious why.Ryan and Jones and center Alex Mack are three of the league's best at their positions. Running backs Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman are tough to defend in the open field and the receiving corps that still includes dependable veteran Mohamed Sanu and added Alabama receiver Calvin Ridley as a first-round pick. The biggest issue is getting the ball to Jones more often in the red zone. Sarkisian was heavily criticized last year for not having Jones, a two-time All-Pro, dialed in more often as Ryan's No. 1 option inside the opponents' 20."I think I'd be remiss not to say we need to get No. 11 the ball," Sarkisian said, "and we need to make sure you defend No. 11, and Julio demands coverage that way."Notes: Long snapper Josh Harris was limited in practice Tuesday after missing Monday's session with a hip injury. Coach Dan Quinn said he Harris will be a game-time decision. Two reserves, G Ben Garland and CB Blidi Wreh-Wilson, will not play A’Shawn Robinson Jersey , but the Falcons are otherwise healthy. EDTShareTweetShareShareDetroit Lions 2019 cap space: Lions still among top 10 in spending moneyAaron Doster-USA TODAY SportsThe Detroit Lions were one of the teams that made a pretty big splash in free agency’s opening week. Entering the week around 10th in cap space, the Lions splurged... big time. $90 million to Trey Flowers, $36 million to Justin Coleman, $25 million to Jesse James and another $4.5 million to Danny Amendola, among others. With that kind of spending spree—and some would argue overpaying along the way—you’d think there would be no way the Lions were still in good standing in cap space. But as we saw throughout the week, the Lions back loaded all of their contracts, and now they’re entering the second week of free agency just like they entered Week 1: With a top-10 amount of cap space:With $29.45 million in cap space left, the Lions could still be big players in the later waves of free agency. Considering the Lions will probably keep around $10 million to help sign their 2019 NFL Draft class and carry into the regular season for a rainy day fund (or to help sign extensions in July), that leaves Detroit with plenty of spending money. The question now is how will the Lions use that money? With such extreme front-loading on their contracts Graham Glasgow Jersey , the Lions are either foreseeing some serious cap changes coming with the new collective bargaining agreement in 2021 or they are lining up to make another few significant moves this year. Obviously, the remaining free agents available aren’t quite as good as when free agency started, but the second wave features a new set of players—like Donald Penn, Adrian Clayborn, Josh Kline—who were released to save cap space before their 2019 bonuses hit the books. Will Detroit make a play for one of those players or do they have something bigger in their plans? Hopefully we’ll find out sooner rather than later.

CINCINNATI (AP) — No matter how high the stakes, how big the deficit or how late in the game, Ben Roethlisberger and his tough-to-catch playmakers always find a way to leave the Bengals wondering what just happened.Chris Boswell kicked a field goal on the final play shortly after Antonio Brown caught a 6-yard touchdown pass — taking a hit to the head while landing in the end zone — and the Pittsburgh Steelers pulled off another improbable comeback against the stunned Bengals, rallying for a 23-20 victory Monday night.Down 17-0 early, the Steelers (10-2) extended their best start since 2004 in a physical game with a couple frightening injuries. Brown’s touchdown tied it at 20 with 3:51 to go — safety George Iloka was penalized for hitting him in the head after the catch. Boswell won it with 38-yard field goal, his second straight winner in the closing seconds. Both teams know the script.“It sort of reminded me of the playoff game — what was it, two years ago?” Steelers defensive end Cameron Heyward said. “It’s sort of the best reality TV show out there — better than the Kardashians.”Two years ago, the Steelers came to Paul Brown Stadium and pulled out an improbable 18-16 playoff win set up by Cincinnati’s fumble and personal fouls on Vontaze Burfict and Adam “Pacman” Jones. Boswell won that one with a 35-yard kick with 14 seconds left.Desperate for a win to salvage their playoff hopes, the Bengals (5-7) still couldn’t find a way to beat their Ohio River rival Geno Atkins Jersey , not even after getting off to the big early lead. The linebacker was taken off the field on a cart and taken to a hospital for evaluation. Tomlin had no details about his injury or his prognosis after the game. It’s going to be tough.”Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict was carted off in the fourth quarter after JuJu Smith-Schuster leveled him with a high hit, then taunted him by walking over him. There were four penalties for unnecessary roughness, one for unsportsmanlike conduct, one for roughing the passer and another for taunting. The Bengals self-destructed with 13 penalties for a team-record 173 yards. The Steelers remain tied with New England for best record in the conference. They host the Patriots on Dec. 17.Bottled up by Cincinnati’s aggressive defense in the first half Michael Jordan Jersey 2019 , Pittsburgh’s playmakers made the difference down the stretch, just as they have all season. They rallied to beat the Packers 31-28 last Sunday on Boswell’s 53-yard field goal on the final play, which was set up by Brown’s incredible sideline catch. After missing practice last week with an injured toe, Brown ran gingerly in pregame warmups and had another big game, finishing with 101 yards in eight catches.Le’Veon Bell ran for 76 yards and had another 106 yards on five catches, including a 35-yard touchdown play in which he remarkably kept his balance along the sideline — cornerback William Jackson pulled up, thinking there was no way he could stay inbound. It’s the first time that Bell and Brown each had 100 yards receiving in the same game. Ben Roethlisberger was 24 of 40 for 290 yards with a pair of touchdowns and an interception.PRIME-TIME OPPOSITESThe Steelers have won 11 straight prime-time games, including four already this season against the Lions (Sunday night), the Titans (Thursday night) and the Packers (last Sunday night). It’s been a horrific time slot for the Bengals, who are 11-24 on Monday night, dropping their past four.PRIME-TIME PLAYERSRoethlisberger has won his last seven prime-time starts, throwing 26 touchdowns and five interceptions. In those games, Brown has 58 catches for 883 yards with 15 touchdowns.IN YOUR FACEBell and Burfict have a long-running feud on Twitter Michael Jordan Jersey Womens , and it got in-your-face right away. He moved slowly during pregame warmups but started and finished with eight catches for 101 yards.Bengals: Jones injured his groin on his first-quarter interception and didn’t return. They won at Baltimore 26-9 on Oct. 1.Bengals host the Bears (3-9), completing a stretch of three straight home games. Cincinnati is 3-2 at Paul Brown Stadium this season.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Once Kirk Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings took the lead on Green Bay J'Mon Moore Jersey White , they played with a fierce refusal to let it go.They held onto the ball with the same determination.Cousins bounced back from his worst game of the season with 342 passing yards and three touchdowns without a fumble or an interception, and the Vikings overcame some early gaffes to outlast the depleted Packers for a 24-17 victory on Sunday night.Article continues below ...Completing 29 of his 38 attempts, Cousins found Dalvin Cook , Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen for scores. Diggs and Thielen had eight receptions apiece.“It just kind of shows his character, shows what kind of player he is, to be able to just not really care what people talk about him, not really care about what happened last week,” Thielen said of Cousins, adding: “The throws he was making, his full game was really impressive. That’s what you expect out of him.”Sheldon Richardson had two sacks to lead the defense’s game-long stifling of Aaron Rodgers Womens Lance Kendricks Jersey , and the Vikings (6-4-1) pushed the Packers (4-6-1) further back in the NFC wild card race. The Vikings won a night game for the first time this season after losing to the top three teams in the NFC: to the Rams in Los Angeles, at home to the New Orleans Saints and at Chicago in a two-interception game by Cousins against the first-place Bears. The Vikings entered the weekend with the fourth-most turnovers in the NFL, and Cousins has been charged with 13 of the 16 giveaways. Coach Mike Zimmer was so impressed by the way Cousins played against the Packers that he gave him the game ball in the locker room afterward .“Last week left a bad taste in our mouths,” Cousins said, “and the chance to come back on Sunday night football against a division rival at home was a great opportunity, and I’m glad we made the most of it.”Rodgers threw a touchdown pass to Davante Adams and Aaron Jones scored on a short run for a 14-7 lead early in the second quarter, but the Packers fell to 0-6 on the road this season and 1-5-1 against the Vikings in their last seven meetings. Their final seven possessions produced only one field goal, with five punts and one turnover on downs.“We’ve all got to play better, myself included,” Rodgers said. “Started off the game nice. We had a couple good drives. We’re rolling there. We hit our unfortunate typical lull and didn’t get it going again.”With Randall Cobb out (hamstring) for a sixth game this season and rookies Equanimeous St. Brown (elbow) and Trevor Davis (hamstring) forced out in the second half Womens Jason Spriggs Jersey , Rodgers didn’t have much to work with down the field. Left guard Lane Taylor (quadriceps) departed in the first half and left tackle David Bakhtiari (knee) was sidelined in the second half, leaving the protection shaky at best. Rodgers finished 17 for 28 for 198 yards, without a turnover. The Packers failed to move the chains on eight of 10 third downs. Jones was stuffed on fourth-and-inches by Harrison Smith, Danielle Hunter and Eric Kendricks midway through the third quarter, giving the Vikings the ball at the Green Bay 44. That set up a 37-yard field goal by Dan Bailey for Minnesota’s first lead of the game.“We’re definitely not in the position, record-wise, we thought we would be in coming into the year or even after this game. We thought we could get the victory. But unfortunately we ran out of gas,” Packers linebacker Clay Matthews said. “We’re beat up, no doubt about that. But give them credit: They put in a full four quarters.”SLOW STARTThe Vikings outgained the Packers 280-139 in total yardage in the first half, but they had to settle for a tie at the break. About to go for it on fourth-and-inches on the opening drive following a timeout to strategize http://www.packerslockerroom.com/authentic-jimmy-graham-jersey , they were penalized for 12 men on the field and had to punt.Diggs collided with Thielen when Jaire Alexander crashed their pick play on the second possession, and after Diggs tried to circle back the other way with an ill-fated salvage attempt he lost 10 yards on that reception to lead to another punt.Bailey’s wide left 48-yard try wasted another highlight-reel catch by Thielen in between Alexander and Josh Jones that went for 33 yards. Later in the second quarter, after some mismanagement of the clock, the Vikings had to hustle to set up a 51-yard kick for Bailey. That one was good, but Rashod Hill was called for a false start. The 56-yarder sliced right, the fifth straight missed field goal against the Packers after rookie Daniel Carlson went 0 for 3 in Green Bay and was cut the next day.PACKED AND HAPPY HOUSEThe announced attendance of 66,872 was the largest for the Vikings in three years at U.S. Bank Stadium. A handful of Minnesota players were introduced in the first quarter with Paul Bunyan’s Axe, the trophy the Gophers repossessed from the rival Badgers in Wisconsin on Saturday to end a 14-game losing streak. Randy Moss kept the crowd fired up in a halftime ceremony to receive his Pro Football Hall of Fame ring.INJURY REPORTPackers: In addition to the carnage on offense, SS Kentrell Brice aggravated an ankle injury in the first quarter and was knocked out of action in the third quarter with a possible concussion. CB Kevin King and CB Bashaud Breeland were already inactive with injuries.Vikings: RT Brian O’Neill left in the third quarter for evaluation for a possible concussion. … CB Xavier Rhodes limped off with an apparent injury to his right hamstring in the fourth quarter.UP NEXTPackers: Host Arizona (2-9) next Sunday afternoon.Vikings: Play at New England (8-3) next Sunday afternoon.Packers vs. Vikings, Week 2 2018: First half game updates & discussion Are you ready for week two?Aaron Rodgers’ knee is ready.

On Paper isn’t quite in its offseason yet. Ever since I started the season http://www.lionslockerroom.com/authentic-theo-riddick-jersey , I made sure to continue for the Super Bowl because of just how big of an event it was. Additionally, it’s a nice perspective on what these charts should look like, given that we focus only the Detroit Lions all season. That being said, these are two familiar teams to Lions fans. Detroit played both of the Patriots and Rams at home this year and competed pretty well with both. They absolutely dominated the Patriots back in Week 3, but couldn’t finish the Rams off a couple months later. If you’re coming here from outside the Detroit Lions community, you can find a quick breakdown of how these On Paper preview work here. So without further ado, here’s our On Paper preview for Super Bowl 53.Note: All stats are for the regular season, unless stated otherwise. Patriots’ pass offense (4th in DVOA) vs. Rams’ pass defense (9th)This is the kind of chart you’d expect to see from a Tom Brady-led offense. In all but two games this season, the Patriots have met or outgained the defense’s passing yards per game allowed average. In all but five, they’ve done the same with passer rating. It’s interesting, because there was this perception that the Patriots offense couldn’t get going early without Julian Edelman — who served a four-game suspension early — but you wouldn’t know from looking at their passing stats. However, the raw statistics from this entire season are actually a little underwhelming by Patriots standards. They’re just 11th in overall passer rating (97.8), 10th in yards per attempt (7.7), and 15th in completion percentage (65.9). They’re solid and they’re efficient, but they aren’t quite explosive. They have just 54 passing plays of 20+ yards (12th) and only eight of 40+ (t-17th). However, where they really make their money is their offensive line. New England allowed just 21 sacks all year, the third-fewest all season. PFF ranked their offensive line fourth after the regular season, and they’ve only gotten better in the postseason. You may notice that the Rams pass offense started well and finished well, but had a pretty poor run in October. I hate to reduce it all to one factor, but the chart really lines up pretty well with the presence of star cornerback Aqib Talib. Talib suffered an ankle injury in Week 3 that required surgery. He was forced to go on IR, but when he came back in Week 13 (vs. Lions) we can see on the chart the immediate impact his presence on the field had. With the team at full strength, they’ve been a solid, but unspectacular pass defense. Los Angeles ranks 17th in passer rating allowed (93.8), t-23rd in yards per attempt (7.7), and 20th in completion percentage (65.1). However, their disruption numbers are through the roof. They’ve pulled in 18 interceptions this year (t-third) and 41 sacks (15th). That’s where this team makes its impact felt Dwayne Washington Jersey White , as they’ve also scored four defensive touchdowns this year (t-third). Player to watch: Aaron Donald. I don’t need to explain, right? The Patriots excellent offensive line will have their hands full against the generational talent.Advantage: Patriots +1.5. New England is just a well-oiled machine on offense, and I will never count out Touchdown Tom, even if the unit struggled two weeks ago against a mediocre-to-bad Chiefs defense. I’ll blame it on the cold and the away crowd. Put Tom Brady indoors on a neutral field and I’m giving him the advantage nearly every single time.Patriots’ run offense (9th) vs. Rams’ run defense (28th)The Patriots’ rushing attack seems to change week-to-week. Any given week, they seem capable of putting up 150 yards and at least 4.5 yards per carry, but they were also held below 90 rushing yards five different times this year. Unsurprisingly, they went 1-4 in those five games. However, there’s very clearly more good than bad with the Patriots’ rushing attack. Though the Patriots rank just t-17th at yards per attempt (4.3), they’re earning first downs on 27.4 percent of their rushes (seventh). Rookie Sony Michel is having an impressive rookie season, rushing for 4.5 yards per carry this regular season and six scores. Perhaps the most surprising part of this matchup is just how bad the Rams’ run defense has been all season long. Despite having two of the best defensive tackles in football, Los Angeles, for whatever reason has had trouble stopping opposing running backs. They gave up a league-high 5.1 yards per carry in the regular season, and it’s pretty surprising to see a team that was so dominant offensively this year give up so many rushing yards to teams that were playing from behind so often. But we have to talk about their playoff performance, because up against two of the best rushing attacks in the NFL, the Rams have been on lockdown mode. Ndamukong Suh is playing like he did back in Detroit, and Los Angeles has become the defense everyone expected them to be all year. Player to watch: Suh. Advantage: Push. Obviously, without the postseason numbers, this is a +1 or 2 in favor of the Patriots, but it’s hard to ignore just how dominant the Rams defense has been in the past two games. This is the Rams defense we’ve been expecting and I believe that it’s for real now.Rams’ pass offense (5th) vs. Patriots’ pass defense (14th)Jared Goff, while still prone to the occasional head-scratching game, has enjoyed his most successful season yet. He set career highs in completion percentage (64.9), yards per attempt (8.4), touchdowns (32) and passer rating (101.1). It hasn’t been the best of playoffs from Goff, but he’s done just enough to get by when the team has needed him. That being said, there are some very, very minor reasons for concern. Goff threw 12 interceptions this year (career high) and his 2.1 interception percentage was significantly higher than last year (1.5). He was only sacked 33 times Sam Martin Jersey , so it’s not like he was facing a lot of pressure. Still, this is a top-five passing offense, and despite Goff’s youth, he’s still playing lot a top-10 quarterback. The Patriots’ pass defense has been pretty average all year, both capable of allowing 100+ passer ratings on the regular (five times) or holding a team below 75 (eight times). Part of this speaks to the Patriots’ always-changing gameplans. Part of this is just honest-to-goodness inconsistency. The raw stats actually paint a pretty good picture of this pass defense. They allowed just an 85.4 passer rating (seventh), 6.9 yards per attempt (fifth), and a 61.2 completion percentage (second). However, that’s going to happen when you play against the Dolphins, Bills and Jets twice in a season.Still, this is an above average defense and deserves some respect for improving after a shaky 2017 season. Player to watch: Trey Flowers. Pressure can throw off Jared Goff’s game, and Flowers is the guy that can bring it consistently:Advantage: Rams +1. The Rams’ offense is prone to some inconsistencies, which is to be expected of a young quarterback, and that should have Los Angeles fans worried this week. However, the overwhelming evidence that Goff can execute a Sean McVay game plan well is enough for me to believe they can (and should) win this matchup. Rams’ run offense (1st) vs. Patriots’ run defense (19th)Jared Goff and the Rams’ passing attack has garnered all of the headlines and storylines for the 2018 season, but their rushing attack may really be the key to it all. Todd Gurley may have been invisible during the conference championship game, but if not for his 1,251 yards and 5.1 yards per carry in the regular season, the Rams probably wouldn’t have been playing in this game. Los Angeles was only held below 4.0 yards per carry three times during the regular season, as the Rams rank third in yards per carry (4.9) and second in rushes earning first downs (29.2 percent). They may have struggled against an extremely underrated Saints defense last week, but they are for real. Much like the Rams, the Patriots’ run defense wasn’t all that good during the regular season, but they’ve been absolutely stellar in the playoff against two phenomenal run-heavy teams. It’s a little harder to make sense of New England’s improvement than the way Los Angeles turned things around. New England’s run defense was horrible during the season. They ranked 27th in yards per carry allowed during the season (4.9) and 22nd in percentage of rushes allowed that earned a first down (25.3). As usual for a Patriots defense, they stiffen up in the red zone. They’ve only allowed seven rushing touchdowns (t-seventh) and 4.86 points per red zone trip (t-14th).Player to watch: Gurley. Gurley said all the right things after being a no-show at the NFC Championship Game, but something tells me he’s going to be extra motivated this week. The Rams running back makes a living breaking tackles, but unfortunately for him, the Patriots don’t miss many. Advantage: Rams +1. Normally Womens Jake Rudock Jersey , I’d give the Rams a huge advantage here, but like with Los Angeles’ run defense, I can’t ignore how the Patriots are playing right now. This is going to be an epic battle in the trenches, but I still have to give an edge to literally the best rushing attack in the league.PredictionThe Rams come out with a +0.5 advantage. It’s hard to argue anything other than the Los Angeles Rams being the better team on paper. The purpose of this preview has always been to ignore the incalculable intangibles and narratives, and just look at the numbers. The numbers favor the Rams, that much is clear—although not by much.So by On Paper law, I have to pick the Rams in this game. However, I feel like I need to also admit I think the Patriots will win this game. New England is a chameleon of a team, and I believe there is no team that goes into a game more prepared than the Patriots. Coaching has a huge impact on games, and while I respect the hell out of Sean McVay, he has a long ways to go to prove he’s at Belichick’s level. With that aside, let’s put coaching aside and look at the number. The Patriots defense isn’t statistically good enough to hang with the Rams offense. You could say the same about the Rams defense, but they’re cooking right now with Aqib Talib back and Ndamukong Suh playing at the top of his game. 31-28 Rams. (AP)The Buffalo Bills put themselves in a better position to fill a big need at quarterback in the draft. The Cincinnati Bengals added much-needed protection for their own franchise quarterback, Andy Dalton. The Bills moved up nine spots in the draft by swapping first-round picks with the Bengals, who also acquired high-priced left tackle Cordy Glenn in a trade Monday, a person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press. The person spoke to The AP on the condition of anonymity because teams are not allowed to announce trades until the NFL’s new business year opens Wednesday. Buffalo moved up to the No. 12 spot in the draft by trading the first of its two opening-round selections, 21st overall. The Bills also have the No. 22 pick.Buffalo also traded its fifth-round pick (158th overall) for the Bengals’ sixth-round selection (187th) as part of the Bills’ second major trade in three days. On Friday, Buffalo traded starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor to Cleveland for a third-round pick. The moves helped place the Bills in a position to use one of their first-round picks to draft a quarterback. The Bills have the assets to move up even higher in the draft order by having two picks in each of the first three rounds.Nathan Peterman, a fifth-round pick last year Womens Carl Lawson Jersey , is the only quarterback on the roster.General manager Brandon Beane has said he intends to land a franchise quarterback through either the draft, a trade or in free agency.Beane has paid close attention to what is considered a top-heavy draft class of quarterbacks. He has said he planned to meet with all the draft-eligible quarterback prospects. The offensive line is Cincinnati’s biggest focus in the offseason. The offense finished last in the league in large measure because its line couldn’t protect Dalton or open holes for the running backs. The Bengals ranked 20th in allowing 40 sacks and 31st in yards rushing last year.Cedric Ogbuehi took over at left tackle after Andrew Whitworth was allowed to leave as a free agent a year ago. Andre Smith was signed from Minnesota to play right tackle, which was Ogbuehi’s spot. The arrangement didn’t work.Offensive line coach Paul Alexander was fired after the season, indicating an overhaul was coming on the line.Glenn has been a Bills starter since being selected in the second round of the 2012 draft. He was limited to six games last year due to a left-foot injury that eventually required surgery. He also hurt his right ankle. When healthy, Glenn has been dominant in both pass protection and run blocking. He was part of a Bills team that led the NFL in yards rushing in both 2015 and `16.Dion Dawkins is in position to replace Glenn as the starter after filling in as a rookie last season. The Bills still have a need at center after Eric Wood was diagnosed with a career-ending neck injury in January.Trading Glenn also solves yet another salary-cap related issue Beane inherited upon replacing Doug Whaley, who was fired a day after last year’s draft concluded.Glenn has three years left on a $65 million contract he signed in 2016, and is due to make a $9.25 million base salary this season. In October, the Bills traded their highest-paid player, defensive tackle Marcell Dareus, to Jacksonville for a sixth-round pick. The depletion of talent didn’t hamper the Bills from finishing 9-7 and making the playoffs to end a 17-year drought, which had been the longest active streak in North America’s four major professional sports.—AP sports writer Joe Kay contributed to this report.—Bengals Bytes (9/28): Magic of the Mullet The Two Big Guys in Ross' CornerJohn Ross is taking the heat, but go to the top and see where the franchise’s two all-time receiving leaders are in his corner. Over the next few days leading up to this year’s draft, Acme Packing Company will examine the Packers’ history at each current slot for 2019, as well as run down the names of recent picks around the league at the position. While the Packers’ draft picks at the #30 slot in team history have left the team wanting, the most recent selection by Green Bay at #44 overall was a stalwart for over a decade. The team has picked 44th five times in history, but Ron Wolf found an absolute stud for the offensive line 2000, a player who steadily protected two quarterbacks for 12 years. Here’s a look at the history in Green Bay with the 44th pick in the NFL Draft.Packers’ History at #441953: Gib Dawson, RBIn the 1950s and 60s, the 44th pick was a fourth-rounder, and the Packers used it three times in those two decades. The first such pick was Dawson, a Texas running back who played just one season in the NFL. In that rookie year, he played seven games and served primarily as a punt and kick returner. Dawson had jut five carries for 18 yards, but he returned seven punts for 72 yards (including a 60-yard touchdown) and four kickoffs for 102 yards.1956: Cecil Morris, GDespite being a fourth-round draft pick, Morris never played a down of football in the NFL.1964: Bob Long, WRA 6-foot-3 flanker from Wichita State, Long served in a backup role for the Packers during their championship three-peat in 1965 http://www.packerslockerroom.com/authentic-marcedes-lewis-jersey , 66, and 67. Long’s best season as a Packer was in 1965, when he played in 13 games and caught 13 passes for 304 yards and four touchdowns. After Vince Lombardi left Green Bay following the 1967 season, Long did as well. After a year with the Atlanta Falcons in 1968, Long rejoined Lombardi in Washington for his most productive season, catching 48 passes for 533 yards and a score while starting every game. He played one more year in the NFL, suiting up for three games with the LA Rams in 1970.1979: Steve Atkins, RBBy the late 1970s, pick 44 was now a second-round pick. In 1979, they tabbed Maryland running back Steve Atkins as their choice, and he served as a backup for parts of three seasons before being released early in the 1981 campaign.Atkins carried the football 120 times for 467 yards and two touchdowns in 19 games with the team, adding 18 receptions for 138 yards and another score.2000: Chad Clifton, OTUnquestionably the finest 44th pick in Packers history was Clifton, a massive tackle from Tennessee who immediately stepped into the starting lineup for a decade. Ron Wolf made Clifton the 44th selection in Wolf’s penultimate draft as the Packers’ GM. Early in his career, Clifton seemed destined to be remembered not for his excellent play, but for being the target on a brutal blind-side hit from Warren Sapp on an interception return late in the 2002 season. Clifton suffered a hip injury in that game that put his career in question, but he returned to the starting lineup the following year. In the following eight-year span from 2003 to 2010, however, Clifton missed just six games Jermaine Whitehead Jersey , protecting the blind sides of Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers. Clifton’s career came to an end following an injury-shortened 2011 season.Somehow, Clifton only made two Pro Bowls in his stellar career, but Packers fans know how critical he was to the success of the offense. He earned induction into the Packers Hall of Fame in 2016.Recent History at #442018: Dante Pettis, WR, Washington (49ers)2017: Gerald Everett, TE, South Alabama (Rams)2016: Jihad Ward, DE, Illinois (Raiders)2015: Hau’oli Kikaha, OLB, Washington (Saints)2014: Cyrus Kouandjio, OT, Alabama (Bills)2013: Kawann Short, DT, Purdue (Panthers)2012: Jeff Allen, OT, Illinois (Chiefs)2011: Titus Young, WR, Boise State (Lions) The Packers need the draft to break their way to get an edge rusher worth taking at 12"WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections The APC PodcastPackers Film RoomFantasy Football AdviceCSTShareTweetShareShareThursday Cheese Curds: What if the Packers don’t draft a pass rusher?John David Mercer-USA TODAY SportsIt’s taken as a matter of course that the Packers will take at least one edge rusher early in the 2019 NFL Draft. Even if there are multiple players who could help the Packers, there’s a chance they could still all be gone by the time Green Bay gets a chance to pick. The Packers, therefore, need a multi-pronged approach on the edge.

There weren’t a lot of positives to pull from the Detroit Lions’ Week 8 performance. Their 28-14 loss to the Seattle Seahawks was truly a team effort. Detroit lost in all three phases of the game Sam Martin Jersey , and there were only a handful of individuals that could walk off that field on Sunday happy with their performance. As such, here are two winners and four losers from Sunday’s game.Winner: Damon Harrison Sr.Let’s start out with the positives, because I’m guessing Lions fans are in need of some good news. “Snacks” lived up to his billing despite playing on a short week (Giants played on Monday) and only participating in two practices with the Lions. He may not have been able to “fix” the Lions’ entire run defense problem, but the Lions were visibly better when Harrison was in the game. He finished with a team-high seven solo tackles and even picked up a sack. Harrison only had 5.5 career sacks prior to Sunday.Loser: Ameer AbdullahWith Theo Riddick sidelined for the past couple weeks, this has been Ameer Abdullah’s chance to shine and potentially earn himself a job next year when his rookie deal is up. Unfortunately, Abdullah hasn’t made much of these opportunities. As the Lions’ de facto kick returner now that Jamal Agnew is on IR, Abdullah fumbled on his first opportunity Sunday. That fumble set off a chain reaction of poor plays that turned a 7-0 lead into a 21-7 deficit by the end of the half. In the NFL, you need to make the most of your opportunities, no matter how limited those chances are. Abdullah is making the wrong impression right now.Loser: Teez TaborIf Tabor truly took a step in the right direction last week against the Dolphins, he took two steps backward against the Seahawks. Seattle didn’t have to throw the ball all that often on Sunday, but when they did, Russell Wilson seemed to enjoy targeting Tabor. Tabor was one of three defensive backs to allow a touchdown on a contested catch Womens Jake Rudock Jersey , and I really could have put the other two—Quandre Diggs, Nevin Lawson—in the same place here. However, Tabor also allowed a few more catches on the day and had yet another devastating penalty that ended up extending a Seahawks drive. Winner: Marvin Jones Jr.Marvin entered Week 8 third on the team in receiving yards (270) and fourth in receptions (19), but he had a breakout game against the Seahawks. Jones consistently found himself behind coverage, and when Matthew Stafford was able to find him, Jones made Seattle pay. Jones caught seven passes on the day for 117 yards, and he was responsible for both of the Lions’ touchdowns. He also drew a huge 56-yard pass interference call.Loser: Matthew StaffordFor the first three quarters of the game, Stafford was far from the team’s biggest problem. However, when Detroit’s defense finally stood up late in the game and opened the door for one of Stafford’s patented comebacks, the Lions quarterback dropped the ball... literally. After a huge fourth-down stop, and then a three-and-out from the defense, the Lions had a real chance to make it a one-score game. Instead DeShawn Shead Jersey White , Stafford simply dropped the ball on a scramble, gifting the Seahawks a possession. The defense would stand up yet again, and after that huge pass interference penalty, the Lions had another shot to get within a touchdown. Stafford tried to force a play—on first down—and threw a game-sealing interception. For as good as Stafford has been in fourth downs, he absolutely cost the team two golden opportunities to get back in the game late. Loser: Lions run defenseThe Seahawks were able to dictate the pace of the entire game thanks to an extremely efficient rushing attack for the first three quarters of the game. Seattle had 95 rushing yards in the first half alone, and Detroit seemed to have absolutely no answer for them. While Detroit didn’t give up a single big play on the ground—Seattle’s longest run was just 12 yards—but in a lot of ways, that’s worse. That means the Seahawks were able to hit their efficiency (4.2 YPC on the day) with consistent gains that put their offense ahead of the sticks. “Snacks” is likely to play more snaps as the season goes on, but it’s clear Detroit’s run defense problems are a little more complicated than one player to be the cure. The Lions are getting Anderson on a very team-friendly, prove-it deal."Now that the C.J. Anderson signing is official, we can finally see what the veteran running back cost the Detroit Lions. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Anderson’s deal is only for about $1.5 million over one season: We still don’t know the exact breakdown of Anderson’s deal, so it’s hard to say what exactly his cap hit will be for the Lions Marvin Jones Jr Jersey White , but that is certainly a relatively cheap deal for a backup running back. Add in the fact that Detroit tried to sign Malcolm Brown to a two-year, $3.25 million deal, and the Lions are actually spending less on a per-year average with Anderson and arguably have the better player. It’s clear the Lions weren’t looking to spend a lot on a backup running back, which likely explains why they didn’t sign Mark Ingram (three years, $15 million) or Tevin Coleman (two years, $8.5 million).Anderson joins Kerryon Johnson ($1.5 million cap hit) and Zach Zenner ($1.05 million) as two very reasonably-priced running backs. In fact, Theo Riddick is very likely to have a higher cap hit in 2019 ($4.6 million) than the other three backs combined. Once we get a full breakdown of Anderson’s contract, we’ll update this post. UPDATE 1: It looks like Anderson can earn a little more based on some incentives: UPDATE 2: Dave Birkett has the full contract breakdown here. Anderson’s cap hit is $1.44 million for 2019.

All of which has helped the Texans turn around their season and leave them one win from clinching the AFC South. His latest great grab came on in the fourth quarter on Saturday on a 14-yard reception that was the go-ahead score in Houston’s 29-22 win over the Jets. New York cornerback Morris Claiborne stayed with Hopkins throughout that route and even got an arm between his on the play. But Hopkins was still able to come down with the ball.“I felt like as good as I played it from the line of scrimmage it was perfect,” Claiborne said. “When you get perfect coverage like that from the line of scrimmage all the way to the end zone and guys come up with those type of balls, you take your hat off to them.”After the play Hopkins said Claiborne looked at him and said: ‘Man I don’t know how you caught it.’It’s a sentiment Hopkins hears often and said top defensive backs such as Patrick Peterson and Jalen Ramsey have said similar things after some of his catches.Hopkins is a favorite target of second-year quarterback Deshaun Watson and he raved about his ability to catch most anything thrown his way.“I try to be as perfect as I can, but for him, he just says: ‘just get it in his area, he’s going to come down with it,'” Watson said. “That’s what I try to do, just throw it in his catch-radius, and majority of the time he’s going to take it down. It helps me out big time.”Hopkins has reached 1,300 yards receiving for the second straight year and the third time in his career Nick Martin Jersey , and his 1,321 yards rank third in the NFL. He has 11 touchdown receptions, which are tied for the second most in his career behind the 13 he grabbed last season.Though he’s happy about his success, he’s far more excited about how the team is doing, with the Texans winning 10 of their past 11 games after a 0-3 start.“If I had 50 catches and 500 yards I would feel like this is my best season because my team is in this position to do more than we’ve ever done before,” he said. “So for me team success first.”And despite his success, Hopkins never stops striving to improve. He admits to watching footage of his work, but said that he also devotes a good chunk of time to viewing catches made by former Lions receiver Calvin Johnson, whom he refers to by his nickname “Megatron.”“I watch my highlights a lot, but I watch Megatron highlights too just because he made great catches like that,” Hopkins said. “It motivates me before the games just seeing a great dude go out there and just do it effortlessly.”During these film sessions Hopkins not only watches his big catches, he also dissects the catches that he didn’t make.“I always feel like I can be better. I feel like I can do better,” he said. “I feel like I can make better catches.”Hopkins is a very confident player, but he’s careful not to sound boastful. No matter what players do to try and slow him down he puts pressure on himself to do more to come away with the catch.“I’ve been stopped before from making those catches or I might have stopped myself sometimes,” he said. “So I feel like it’s me more so than the defender. That’s just like the role that I put on myself and the pressure Cullen Gillaspia Houston Texans Jersey , no matter what DB is out there it’s my ball. I don’t want to say a DB can’t guard me, but I still feel like I can catch it.”Houston cornerback Johnathan Joseph, a 13-year NFL veteran, has covered Hopkins for years in practice and shakes his head when asked what someone can do to keep him from making a catch.“You can’t do anything,” Joseph said. “He’s an exceptional talent. He’s got rare hand-eye coordination to catch the ball so … it’s one of those things that in the game it’s almost impossible.”Hopkins has been making nifty catches throughout his six-year NFL career, which often leads him to be asked which one is his favorite. Because he’s always outdoing himself, the answer often changes and on Thursday it took him a few seconds to come up with an answer. He exhaled sharply and rubbed his long and lean hands together for a bit before coming to a conclusion.“The Dolphins catch between the legs,” he finally said. “I’m going to go with that.”That catch came earlier this season when he reached back and grabbed the ball with one hand and weaved it between his legs in the air before crashing to the ground. But it actually wasn’t a catch at all because he was called for pass interference.Despite not counting, that play was the talk of the locker room after the win and had many of his teammates wondering, as they often do, how he possibly came down with it.While he wows teammates and defenders alike with such feats as that non-catch and his huge grab last week, does he still get excited when he makes plays like that or is it simply another day at the office for the 26 year old?“Sometimes I surprise myself, just like darn I did that? (But) I feel like just go out and be better and do more,” he said.

Aaron Rodgers throws passes to Jordy Nelson during warmups of Packers-Raiders Is somebody cutting onions? The Green Bay Packers are in Oakland to play the Raiders in a preseason game Friday evening Bryan Bulaga Jersey White , but this is no ordinary exhibition contest. All week, much of the attention has been paid to former Packer and new Raiders receiver Jordy Nelson, who left Green Bay for Oakland after the Packers released him in March.Nelson was the only one of Rodgers’ targets who was in the Packers’ organization during his entire tenure as Green Bay’s starter, and the two were close friends. So it’s no surprise to see the two getting together and connecting on a few practice throws during pregame warmups on Friday:In addition to the Rodgers-Nelson pair, Derek Carr and Davante Adams rekindled their former QB-WR connection as well. The two played college football together at Fresno State, before both were selected in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. In those two years together they were a prolific duo, as Adams posted 233 receptions for 3,031 yards and a whopping 38 touchdowns.Of course, Packers fans have far more attachment to the Rodgers-Nelson hookup. Although we’re seeing the two wearing different colors for the first time http://www.packerslockerroom.com/authentic-kentrell-brice-jersey , it’s nice to see them connect on passes one more time.
