These teams went at it in London in October, a 33-0 Rams win that was Arizona’s worst performance and cost it QB Carson Palmer (broken left arm). Los Angeles has displayed balance on both sides of the ball and was especially hard on Adrian Peterson, who rushed for 21 yards on 11 carries in London. An LA win would even the series, which now is 38-37-2 for the Cardinals. Pittsburgh (9-2) at Cincinnati (5-6), Monday night The Bengals haven’t been bungling much lately, but this isn’t a matchup in their favor. Pittsburgh’s all-time edge in this series is 61-35, including two playoff wins at Paul Brown Stadium. The Steelers have won five straight and eight of nine in the rivalry. They also are 6-3 on Monday night vs. Cincinnati and have won 10 straight prime-time games. Pittsburgh is 11-2 on Monday nights under Mike Tomlin, including 6-2 on the road. The Bengals are 11-23 on Monday nights, dropping its past three. During their loss in Pittsburgh on Oct. 22, the Bengals managed only one first down and 19 total yards in the second half. New England (9-2) at Buffalo (6-5) Shield your eyes, Bills fans, as we convey the numbers in this lopsided series. Baltimore had an NFL-high 18 interceptions and 26 takeaways for a turnover differential of plus-11. Terrell Suggs is the acknowledged leader of the unit that is reminding some of the glory days. Indianapolis (3-8) at Jacksonville (7-4) The tide has turned toward Jacksonville in this series, which Indy still leads 22-11 despite losing three of the past four. As the Jaguars push for a playoff berthbehind their sack-happy defense led by Calais Campbell – the DE needs one sack to break the franchise record set by Tony Brackens (12) in 1999 – they might want to test the Colts’ weak pass defense. But the Jags are a run-first team behind rookie RB Leonard Fournette. Indy’s RB, Frank Gore , needs 27 yards rushing to pass Jerome Bettis (13,662) for sixth on the NFL’s career list and 49 yards to pass LaDainian Tomlinson (13,684) for fifth. Houston (4-7) at Tennessee (7-4) When the Texans set a team record in a 57-14 romp over the Titans in October, rookie Deshaun Watson was behind center. He’s sidelined by a torn ACL, and DeAndre Hopkins – the NFL leader with nine TD catches – gets the ball delivered by Tom Savage now. NFL interceptions leader Keith Byard will also be seeking Savage’s throws as Tennessee looks for a sixth win in seven games to maintain at least a share of the AFC South lead with Jacksonville. Kansas City (6-5) at New York Jets (4-7) Two spiraling clubs, although much more has been expected of Kansas City, which opened with wins over New England and Philadelphia. But Chiefs coach Andy Reid is 5-0 against the Jets, while QB Alex Smith is 3-0. It will be noteworthy how Darrelle Revis fares for KC. The formers Jets star signed last week as a free agent. Revis’ second stint with the Jets ended when New York didn’t bring him back in offseason after subpar season. He played with the Jets from 2007-12 and 2015-16. Expect plenty of rust. Cleveland (0-11) at Los Angeles Chargers (5-6) We know what you’re thinking: Cleveland got off the schneid last season in Game 15 by beating the Chargers for the Browns’ only win. For that to happen again would be a huge upset considering how LA has gone from 0-4 to contention in the AFC West. The Browns are 1-26 in two seasons under coach Hue Jackson and 4-44 in the past 48 games – the worst stretch in NFL history. The Chargers could go sack-happy with Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram. New York Giants (2-9) at Oakland (5-6) Tell us this: Was there more consternation from Raiders fans over the move to Las Vegas, or from Giants fans over the benching of Eli Manning? Considering the Giants can’t block or run the ball, and have had their two best receivers on IR for months, blaming the quarterback who led them to two Super Bowls seems off-target. Oakland remains on-target in the AFC West, where it trails slumping Kansas City by one game. The Raiders also are weakened at wideout, where Michael Crabtree is suspended and Amari Cooper has been battling an ankle problem while in the concussion protocol. Tampa Bay (4-7) at Green Bay (5-6) A shootout would seem possible with both defenses vulnerable to the pass. So can Jameis Winston, expected to start after missing three games with a shoulder injury, taking advantage for Tampa Bay? Despite losing at Pittsburgh with some strange clock management and play calling, the Packers did get backup QB Brett Hundley’s best showing since coming in for injured Aaron Rodgers. Denver (3-8) at Miami (4-7) Forget any shootouts here. The Dolphins are anemic with the ball, and the Broncos are unsteady as Trevor Siemian returns at quarterback. Both proposals that are adopted and those that are not end up being notable, as some suggestions take a few years to go into effect.In order to change the rules in the NFL, the Competition Committee considers proposals from a variety of sources, as well as presenting its own suggestions to the entire group of league owners. As a result, the Committee’s eight members — coaches and executives from around the league — have a great deal of responsibility. Atlanta Falcons president Rich McKay chairs the committee, which currently consists of two owners Oren Burks Jersey White , two team presidents (including Green Bay Packers president/CEO Mark Murphy), two general managers, and two head coaches.The Committee then presents the proposed changes to the entire group of NFL owners for a vote. A three-quarters vote is necessary for passage, meaning that 24 of the 32 owners (including Murphy as the Packers’ representative) must vote to approve in order for the change to take effect.Here’s the full list of proposed changes for the 2019 meeting. However, a breakdown of several of the notable proposals is below.Making Penalties ReviewableThis is a two-part proposal that the Competition Committee has put forth. The first part would make pass interference penalties reviewable, with a trial period of one year. It also expands automatic reviews to include scoring plays and turnovers that are negated by a penalty as well as any PAT or two-point conversion attempt.Part two is essentially the same as part one, except it expands the slate of reviewable penalties to also include roughing the passer and unnecessary roughness in regards to a defenseless player.The second part may have been helpful last season in reference to the penalties assessed against Clay Matthews early in the season. As we all know by now, the rule change was in response to the NFC Championship game, in which (now Lions) receiver Tommylee Lewis was blasted by a Rams defender before the ball got there, but no penalty was called. Under the new rule, that play would be reviewable by coaches—although the play happened within the last two minutes of the game, so it would have to be a booth review in this specific situation.This rule is bound to make a huge impact on the game, and many fans seem to be happy that one of the more frustrating penalties is now subject to review. So today’s Question of the Day is:Do you approve of the NFL’s decision to make pass interference reviewable.My answer: No. HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL NO.I’ve already spoken about this in length, and if you want to read my full argument about this topic, you can read it here. Here’s my short version. Making a call that is subjective and far from black-and-white is both a waste of time and a slippery slope. You can slow down anything upon replay and make it look like whatever you want. Sure, replay may fix obvious situations like the one in the NFC Championship game http://www.lionslockerroom.com/authentic-anthony-zettel-jersey , but how often do those kind of blatant mistakes actually happen? Now compare that to situations in which it might be pass interference, but it’s hard to tell if it’s just handfighting or other situations in which both players were guilty of it. Regardless, we’re going to see an increase in reviews because wide receivers are going to come screaming to their head coaches on every other play. And coaches are going to challenge pass interference plays more because the reward is potentially so high given that it’s a spot foul. That’s going to result in one of two things: either an increased in pass interference calls or an increase in wasted challenges. Either result, in my opinion, is bad. Pass interference is the most impactful penalty in the game, given that it is a spot foul. So more PI calls means that the refs will have more influence over the game—something I’m sure we can all agree is a bad thing. And no one wants more challenges in the game to slow things down. In 2017, there were only 182 coaches challenges—or an average 0.71 per game (0.36 per team per game). It’s hard to imagine that number will stay anywhere near that low now that pass interference is reviewable. You could also say Glenn was a disappointment considering the Bengals moved down in the first round to acquire him. There were still times when they were all able to put it together, but the additions and change in coaching shows that it still wasn’t good enough.If the Bengals’ offensive line wants to gain respect, then one of the easiest ways is too be more consistent with their good plays. A way to do that is focus on the running game to open up the passing game. Something Price is excited the new coaching staff is emphasizing. “As coach [Zac] Taylor and coach [Jim] Turner always talk about, it is the marriage of the pass and the run. You really got to set up the run, so you can hit those deep shots in the passing game. He will likely be one of this team’s leaders going forwards just from the way he can command a room. From what Price is saying, it seems like fans at least have a chance to be excited about the direction of the offensive line. Geoff Hobson marches to his own tune as he has the Bengals taking a linebacker not named Devin White in his latest mock draft."Mock drafts are always a peculiar thing, especially when conducted by one person. While all mock drafts are hypothetical, some mock drafts lose their sense of originality when they are done by a single person selecting for every team. It is much rarer to see a mock draft conducted by individuals for every team, but the results sometimes yield situations and scenarios that you just don’t get from individuals doing the whole things themselves. I’m not saying one is better than the other, but it is nice to break up the monotony.That is what Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com did recently when he participated in a mock draft where he only picked for the Bengals and used picks from various analysts and team reporters for the top 10 picks. The results landed a Devin you probably weren’t expecting in Bengal’s stripes.It should be noted that previously Hobson had Clemson defensive tackle Christian Wilkins going at 11, and he passed him up here. At the time, Hobson noted the Bengals had one of the league’s worst run defenses Womens Bobby Hart Jersey , so Wilkins would help with that. Even then you could make the argument that adding a defensive tackle wouldn’t fix the bigger issue with linebackers looking as incompetent as they did.It seems Hobson has at least started entertaining that reality by picking Bush. The Michigan product isn’t really viewed as a top-tier player in this draft, but he would indeed fill a huge need. He may not come in and be as great as many expect Devin White out of LSU to be, but he still has the potential to be a very good linebacker in the league if he keeps progressing in pass coverage.The real thing he has that the Bengals have been sorely missing from their linebackers is athleticism. Cincinnati has prioritized sure-tacklers in the recent drafts, but the NFL has evolved past that. Gone are the days where you could get by with a linebacker who can’t cover. Offensive coordinators have easy ways to isolate their speedy running backs, athletic tight ends and even receivers on to linebackers in just about every coverage and formation. You need linebackers in today’s NFL who can play sideline-to-sideline and cover between the numbers. If you don’t have them, your defense is bound to get picked apart pretty quickly.In this mock Hobson didn’t simulate any trades, and this pretty much shows the worst case scenario for Cincinnati. White was taken by the Lions at eight, Jawaan Taylor followed him by being selected ninth overall by the Bills and there was only one quarterback taken in the top 10.The other player at a position of need Cincinnati should probably consider would have to beCody Ford out of Oklahoma to sure up the right tackle position. He has even started to be projected in the top 10 as his stock seems to be on the rise. If Cincinnati was open to defensive linemen Womens Sam Hubbard Jersey , they’d have their choice of Ed Oliver, Clelin Ferrell or Wilkins. They’d even have their choice of the second quarterback in the draft, whoever that may be for them.It isn’t that Bush would be a bad pick, but if this particular situation came where Cincinnati was sitting there wanting a linebacker without White around, they should trade back for whoever wants their choice at quarterback. The Dolphins (pick 13) and Washington (pick 15) would likely be bidding to get their quarterback of the future.
