Few players make it over this threshold and still remain successful

In the NFL Youth Dont'a Hightower Jersey , 35 is considered old. among colleagues that are in a lot of cases more than 10 years younger. However, those who do survive in the league that long are oftentimes still at the top of their game, especially at positions that pose a slightly different athletic challenge than most. The quarterback spot is the best example, and 2018 serves as a perfect reminder of that.39-year old New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees and the Los Angeles Chargers’ 36-year old Philip Rivers are both in the middle of arguably their best seasons to date. The Pittsburgh Steelers’s 36-year old Ben Roethlisberger, meanwhile, and soon-to-be 35-year old Green Bay Packers passer Aaron Rodgers also still play at the same high level as they used to in their earlier days in the NFL.And then, there is Tom BradyAt 41, he is the league’s oldest quarterback (and oldest non-kicker in general) and he keeps defying expectations of what being an older play in the NFL means. Since turning 35 in the offseason leading into the 2012 season, Brady has led the New England Patriots to two Super Bowl trophies, and has won a combined three MVP awards (one regular season, two in the title game).2018 is more of the same. While Brady’s statistical output looks comparatively pedestrian when compared to his ridiculously productive last three seasons, he still is very much in the conversation as the league’s best quarterback. And even though he finds himself in unchartered territory for players his age he keeps adding to his already legendary r茅sum茅 — and according to the man himself, he plans to keep doing it.“I’d like to go till I’m 45,” Brady told NBC Sports’ Peter King after Sunday night’s victory over the Green Bay Packers and fellow old man quarterback Aaron Rodgers. “I know I said that a hundred times http://www.thepatriotsfootballauthentic.com/patrick-chung-jersey-authentic , and no one believes me. But I mean, I feel good. I could go play another game tomorrow. I know what to do. It’s fun. What else would you rather do than run out in front of 70,000 people and throw a football?”While Brady regularly pointed out his goal of playing until turning 45, he put on a more cautiously sounding tone this offseason. Of course, his remarks also left plenty of room for interpretation: he told Oprah Winfrey that he thinks about retirement more than he used to and also spoke in an interview with his own TB12 brand about “seeing the end line now.” His most recent statements, however, leave little doubt about what he wants to do.Brady being asked about hanging up his cleats is nothing new. Back in 2014, for example, the then-37-year old told WEEI that he will retire when his game is no longer up to the lofty standards he sets for himself. “When I suck, I’ll retire,” the future Hall of Famer said before continuing: “I don’t plan on sucking for a long time.” We are nine weeks into the 2018 season and Brady is still far from sucking. 45 seems to be as realistic as it has ever been. (1.) If the coverage leading into Sunday night feels more like that of a UFC title fight than a primetime football game, it’s not by accident — but it’s also not entirely by choice.A byproduct of the NFL’s incompetence with regard to having its two biggest stars face off twice per decade is that four years of Aaron Rodgers vs. Tom Brady media coverage is needlessly jammed into a single week — or six days in the case of this year’s go-around. It’s almost understandable. With so much time passing between Packers-Patriots contests, very little meat is left on the content-bone. Rosters are thoroughly turned over. Context derived from the teams’ most recent battles isn’t pertinent, making it impossible to establish a chronology of any real substance. Narratives simply aren’t allowed to develop organically. The NFL media machine — aside from a handful of excellent local reporters and analysts — has no choice but to capitalize on the moment. As a result http://www.thepatriotsfootballauthentic.com/marcus-cannon-jersey-authentic , the Rodgers vs. Brady motif doesn’t just become the ripest and the lowest-hanging of the low-hanging fruit — it becomes the only hanging fruit. Yet, if you give the tree a good shake, you’ll find that the NFL hasn’t just missed out on the opportunity for one or two more duels between historic quarterbacks, but that they’ve has deprived football fans of a showcase between the two most successful organizations from each conference since the turn of the century. It’s true. Since Bill Belichick took the reigns in Foxborough in 2000, the Patriots have been historically good to the point where it renders the accomplishments of other franchises undistinguished. But, over that same span, the Green Bay Packers have been the cream of the crop in the NFC.From 2000 to 2017, the Packers have an NFC-leading 178 regular season wins, the most playoff trips in the conference (13), as well as the most playoff wins (27). From 2006 — the first year of current head coach Mike McCarthy — through 2017, Green Bay leads the NFC in wins (121), postseason trips (9), playoff games (18), and Conference Championship Game appearances (4). Of course Youth Joe Thuney Jersey , they also added a Super Bowl in 2010.The Patriots’ totals in these departments between 2000 and 2017 are obviously ridiculous. They led the NFL with:214 regular season wins15 postseason trips37 postseason games12 Conference Championship Game appearances8 Super Bowl trips5 Super Bowl titlesFor the purpose of symmetry, here are those Patriots totals between 2006-2017 (still all league-leading, or course): 151 regular season wins11 postseason trips26 postseason games9 Conference Championship Game appearances5 Super Bowl trips2 Super Bowl titles (tied with the Giants for the most since 2006)(2.) Perhaps the most fascinating components of the Packers’ success are the methods and organizational characteristics that have allowed them to sustain it — elements and approaches that bear a striking resemblance to what Bill Belichick has established in New England.One such characteristic is stability. While there are certainly a countless number of variables, and the causation is likely a bit cyclical, there is a strong correlation between winning teams and franchises that maintain long stretches of stability at their GM (or primary player personnel decision-maker) position and head coach positions. The 11 organizations to have won a Super Bowl between 2000 and 2017 averaged 169.09 wins over those 18 seasons, and just 4.36 GM-head coach combinations. The other 21 franchises averaged 132.27 wins and 8 GM-head coach combinations.Between 2000 and 2017, no NFC team had fewer such combinations than Green Bay (four), and only three teams in the league had fewer. One of those teams was the Bengals, who haven’t employed a GM in the history of their organization. The other two were Pittsburgh (two combinations), and the Patriots (Belichick).(3.) A tangible approach that each organization has taken towards roster construction has been the organic growth of the middle and upper class of their rosters. Between 2011-2017, no other team in football had more “homegrown” players — ones drafted or signed as UDFAs and developed with the organization — with cap hits that were at or greater than 1% of that year’s league salary cap. The Packers had 96 such cap hits over that 18-season span. The Patriots ranked fifth on that list with 70. The league average was 50.(4.) The number of draft picks since 2000 to be signed to multi-year extensions before or directly after the expiration of their rookie deals:Packers — 35 total, 18 from draft rounds 1-3.Patriots — 26 total, 12 from draft rounds 1-3.One could speculate that the Patriots would’ve been closer in the total number of these “homegrown” middle and upper class players, but they simply didn’t need to re-sign as many due to consistently planning ahead for the departure of players by developing depth through the draft and undrafted free agency. The Patriots have also been the most trade-happy organization in football in since Belichick’s arrival.(5.) With Patriots right guard Shaq Mason ruled out for Sunday’s contest Youth Ja'Whaun Bentley Jersey , it marks the first time since his week eight of his rookie season that he hasn’t been active. Mason — who has been active for 54 of his first 56 career regular season games —is one third of a “homegrown” trio on the interior that includes left guard Joe Thuney and center David Andrews. It’s a unit that has been one of the more consistently-underrated in football over the past three seasons. Sunday will be just the third game since the start of 2016 in which all three won’t be on the field together.With the signing of Andrews to a three-year extension last May (a deal that might be among the best values in football), and with Mason inking a deal with $23.5 million guaranteed to keep him in Foxborough through 2023, the Patriots have two legs of their interior trio under contract through 2020. Joe Thuney, who will be eligible to negotiate a contract after the completion of this season, will carry a cap hit of roughly $2.22 million in 2019 after qualifying for the Proven Performance Escalator (PPE) — a provision in the CBA that bumps the fourth year rookie salary of a player drafted after the second round up to the level of that year’s lowest restricted free agency tender. Players can earn the PPE by participating in 35% of offensive or defensive snaps in two of his first three seasons, or by participating in 35% of all of those snaps over his first three years. According to overthecap.com, no 2016 draftee how was taken between rounds three and seven has participated in a high percentage of his unit’s snaps. The former NC State standout has participated has a 99.7% three-year average after playing in 99.6% in 2016, 99.5% in 2017, and 100% so far this year.Follow Brian Phillips on Twitter — @BPhillips_SB

Take a look at New England’s 53-man roster and practice squad after cutdown weekend One of the busiest periods of the NFL calendar is slowly coming to an end. With cutdown weekend almost over Womens Rex Burkhead Jersey , we now know what the core of the 2018 New England Patriots’ roster looks like. Let’s check it out:Quarterback (2): Tom Brady, Brian HoyerNo surprises at the quarterback position: Tom Brady and Brian Hoyer were the clear-cut top two entering the year, with rookie Danny Etling not showing enough over the summer to warrant a spot on the active roster. He was able to clear waivers, though, and get placed on the practice squad.Running back (5): James White, Rex Burkhead, Sony Michel, Jeremy Hill, James DevelinOne of the deepest positions on the roster, the running back corps appeared to be set in stone the moment Sony Michel suffered an injury in practice that allowed Jeremy Hill to see additional snaps and make the most out of them. Special teams ace Brandon Bolden has been released yesterday but could return at a later point.Wide receiver (6): Chris Hogan, Phillip Dorsett, Cordarrelle Patterson, Amara Darboh, Chad Hansen, Matthew SlaterAfter cutdown day, wide receiver was the lightest position on the roster. New England has since added two more depth options through the waiver wire: Amara Darboh and Chad Hansen, two mid-round draft selections from 2017, were added to the team to give the Patriots additional bodies alongside the current top three, Chris Hogan, Phillip Dorsett and Cordarrelle Patterson.Tight end (3): Rob Gronkowski, Dwayne Allen, Jacob HollisterEven with Ryan Izzo getting moved to season-ending injured reserve earlier today Authentic Danny Shelton Jersey , this is as solid a tight end group as any in the NFL – especially because of Rob Gronkowski. But even behind the league’s best player at the position, New England is deep with Dwayne Allen a strong blocker and Jacob Hollister a high-upside receiving option.Offensive line (7): Trent Brown, Joe Thuney, David Andrews, Shaq Mason, Marcus Cannon, Ted Karras, LaAdrian WaddleWhile the top five have been set since spring practices, the players behind them had to beat out their competition to earn spots on the team. Ted Karras and LaAdrian Waddle did just that, while two more linemen – Cole Croston and James Ferentz – have been added to the practice squad after getting released yesterday.Defensive tackle (4): Malcom Brown, Danny Shelton, Lawrence Guy, Adam ButlerDespite the release of former third-round draft pick Vincent Valentine, who joined New England’s practice squad earlier today, the Patriots have plenty of depth at the defensive tackle spot: Malcom Brown and Danny Shelton are the big run stuffers in the middle, with Adam Butler primarily a pass rusher. Lawrence Guy projects to be more of a versatile wild card.Defensive edge (6): Trey Flowers, Adrian Clayborn, Deatrich Wise Jr., Derek Rivers, Keionta Davis, Geneo GrissomThe defensive edge might be the most improved position group on New England’s roster when compared to the 2017 season: Adrian Clayborn, Derek Rivers and Keionta Davis were all not on the (active) team one year ago but project to play prominent snaps alongside Trey Flowers and Deatrich Wise Jr. in 2018. The Patriots keeping Geneo Grissom around behind the top six is a minor surprise http://www.newenglandpatriotsteamonline.com/kyle-van-noy-jersey , but the former third-round draft pick has looked solid this summer.Linebacker (5): Dont’a Hightower, Kyle Van Noy, Ja’Whaun Bentley, Elandon Roberts, Nicholas GrigsbyRookie Ja’Whaun Bentley being one of the top performers during the preseason is encouraging news for a linebacker corps that looks similar to the one the Patriots fielded last year. Getting Dont’a Hightower back makes the whole group better, and Bentley’s emergence could give it another dimension when it comes to depth and versatility.Cornerback (7): Stephon Gilmore, Eric Rowe, Jonathan Jones, Jason McCourty, Duke Dawson, J.C. Jackson, Keion CrossenOne of the deepest position groups on the team, the Patriots opted to keep seven cornerbacks around after the standout performances of rookies J.C. Jackson and Keion Crossen. The two will provide valuable depth behind starting options Stephon Gilmore and Eric Rowe.Safety (5): Devin McCourty, Patrick Chung, Duron Harmon, Brandon King, Nate EbnerWith Jordan Richards now playing for the Atlanta Falcons, Jason McCourty could potentially fill his role as the fourth safety behind the starting trio of Devin McCourty, Patrick Chung and Duron Harmon. King, who is listed as a linebacker but wears a defensive back’s number, and Ebner will meanwhile play primarily on special teams.Specialists (3): Stephen Gostkowski, Ryan Allen Authentic Trent Brown Jersey , Joe CardonaWith rookie punter Corey Bojorquez unable to challenge Ryan Allen during preseason and now with the Buffalo Bills, the Patriots elected to keep the same three specialists for another year. Stephen Gostkowski, Ryan Allen and Joe Cardona have worked together since 2015.Practice squad (8): Danny Etling, Vincent Valentine, Ralph Webb, Riley McCarron, Jomal Wiltz, Cole Croston, James Ferentz, Trent HarrisNew England officially filled eight of its ten available practice squad spots today, using only players that have spent the entire summer with the Patriots. One of the two remaining open spots is expected to be filled by linebacker Harvey Langi further down the line.Reserve/suspended (1): Julian EdelmanEdelman will start the season on the sidelines and return after the Patriots’ week four game to further solidify a wide receiver position in flux.Injured reserve (7): Isaiah Wynn, Christian Sam, Ulrick John, Darren Andrews, Cody Hollister, Braxton Berrios, Ryan Izzo, Will TyeWhile Ryan Izzo was on the initial 53-man team yesterday, he has been placed on injured reserve earlier today. Because the move happened before today’s 4:00 p.m. ET deadline, the rookie – just like the other players on injured reserve – is not eligible to return off the list later this season.Week 4 Patriots vs Dolphins: New England dominates Miami with 38-7 final score The New England Patriots are looking to finally get on track, while the Miami Dolphins are looking to strengthen their already considerable grip on the AFC East. If the Patriots win, they’ll be back within striking distance of Miami and all will be well. If they lose http://www.newenglandpatriotsteamonline.com/patrick-chung-jersey , then there’s a real chance the Dolphins will have a 3-game lead in the division after a mere four games.Here’s everything you need to know about the game.Pregame ShowEarly Games Rooting GuideHigh ImportBills @ Packers: The Patriots want the Bills to lose for pretty obvious divisional reasons.Jets @ Jaguars: The Patriots want the Jaguars to win right now. Winning the division is always the most important step for New England.Low ImportTexans @ Colts: The Patriots play both teams- the Colts are next on the schedule on Thursday Night- so there isn’t much of a desire for either team to win, but they want this to be a super physical and exhausting game. A bird-in-the-hand situation suggests they want the Texans to win for the “strength of victory” tiebreaker that New England knows they have.Eagles @ Titans: The Patriots eventually play the Titans so they’ll want Tennessee to win for “strength of schedule.”Bengals @ Falcons: Because the Patriots don’t face the Bengals, go NFC team.Lions @ Cowboys: The Patriots lost to the Lions, but they want Detroit to win for “strength of schedule” purposes.No ImportBuccaneers @ Bears: This game doesn’t really matter for the Patriots.Patriots Game DetailsLive UpdatesPregame updates:There’s a “good chance” that Josh Gordon will play!Take a look at the Patriots’ inactives:Please click here for additional analysis and the Dolphins’ inactive players.Q1The Dolphins received the ball to start the game and opened up the game with a 22-yard pass to Kenny Stills. That was the only first down of the drive as the Patriots forced Miami to punt from midfield.The Patriots started from the 24-yard line and a big defensive holding call by Dolphins cornerback Xavien Howard on third down set the wheels in motion for Sony Michel and the Patriots offense. Michel gained 36 yards on the next three plays before the Patriots reached the red zone. Tom Brady found Josh Gordon for 13 yards on 3rd and 6 to get to the Dolphins 3-yard line, but Miami made a goal line stand and forced Stephen Gostkowski to kick a 20-yard field goal for a 3-0 lead. CBS noted that this was the Patriots first lead in 9 quarters of football.The New England defense almost forced a three-and-out but a ticky-tacky defensive holding call against Jonathan Jones gave the Dolphins a new set of downs. The Patriots forced another third down and held strong, forcing another punt. Cyrus Jones made a nice return back to the 35-yard line.Tom Brady misread the Dolphins defense as Phillip Dorsett was running an in-route as Bobby McCain dropped off from his coverage of Chris Hogan and intercepted the pass. Brady’s stats over the past five quarters: 17 of 33 (51.15%) for 163 yards, 1 touchdown, and 2 interceptions. Passer Rating: 50.4Q2The Patriots forced a three-and-out against the Dolphins defense as they’re putting together their best day in a long time.Tom Brady and company responded with a huge 55-yard touchdown pass to Cordarrelle Patterson and a 10-0 lead. Feel free to laugh at the above entry. Patterson is the 70th unique receiver to catch a touchdown pass from Tom Brady, tying Vinny Testaverde for the most in NFL history.ALERT: THE PATRIOTS HAVE FORCED BACK-TO-BACK THREE-AND-OUTS!The Patriots were unable to respond with the good field position, but a bad snap and handle by Ryan Tannehill allowed Kyle Van Noy to recover the football on the 20-yard line for great field position.James White took the very first play of the drive 20 yards on the ground for a touchdown and a 17-0 lead.The New England defense forced yet another three-and-out! That is three three-and-outs and a fumble recovery on the past four drives. Kyle Van Noy was outstanding on the edge on this drive, while Jonathan Jones is having an incredibly strong day in coverage.The Patriots used up the rest of the time in the first half as Sony Michel flexed on the final drive of the half. Tom Brady and company converted three third downs before Brady found Phillip Dorsett for an acrobatic 9-yard touchdown and a 24-0 lead.Oh, the Patriots get the ball after the half, too.Q3New England and Miami traded three-and-outs to start the second half.Tom Brady and company responded with a 9 play, 59-yard drive that ate up 5 minutes of the clock and resulted in a huge third down moonshot of a pass from Brady to James White. White has 84 total yards and 2 touchdowns today as he’s become the engine of the offense.Since I made fun of Brady’s statline: 15/22 (68.2%) for 176 yards and 3 touchdowns. Passer rating: 131.8J.C. Jackson intercepted Ryan Tannehill on his next drive to set the Patriots up on their own 10-yard line. Q4Sony Michel recorded the first 100-yard game of his career as the Patriots marched down the field to the and Michel punched in a 10-yard scamper for a 38-0 win. Michel has 112 yards on the day.John Simon recorded a big third down sack of Ryan Tannehill to force another punt. Cyrus Jones returned it to the 43-yard line.Brady found Chris Hogan to get the ball to the 28-yard line of the Dolphins (why is Brady still in the game?) but then Brady threw a dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb interception to Minkah Fitzpatrick as he was about to be sacked. This is the second time today that Brady decided to throw an interception instead of eating the sack. Get Brady out of the game.And in garbage time, Frank Gore rumbled down the field and Brock Osweiler threw him a touchdown pass to narrow the lead to 38-7.Brian Hoyer kneeled out the clock.

The win did not only bring the team back to .500 on the year, it also had an impact on how the fanbase views it.The Patriots’ 38-7 win against the Dolphins gave the team the biggest confidence jump in the league in our weekly FanPulse survey: while only 31% of fans participating still felt confident in the direction the team was headed after its week three loss in Detroit, the number jumped to 73% following the Dolphins game:After having the least confidence fanbase in the AFC East one week ago, the Patriots are now back on top in the division:How will yesterday’s win against the Indianapolis Colts – one during which the team looked unstoppable at times but also struggled with sloppy play in the third quarter – impact the Patriots’ confidence score? It will likely climb back to at least the level it had before New England’s loss against the Lions http://www.patriotsauthorizedshop.com/authentic-patrick-chung-jersey , when the team sat at 76%.The real test will come in nine days, though: the Patriots will face a Kansas City Chiefs team that has looked like an offensive juggernaut so far this season. The New England Patriots played arguably their most complete game of the season against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night — and one big reason for that was the execution on both sides of the football. While the offense was efficient despite missing three starters due to injury, the defense played perfectly complementary football: the pass rush made life hard for quarterback Aaron Rodgers, while the secondary covered well.The pass rush in particular is something Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was happy about Eric Rowe Jersey , as a new NFL Films clip shows. Belichick wore a microphone on Sunday and on multiple occasions was captured talking to his front seven about their play:The clip, which focuses almost entirely on the stoic coach instead of the field of play, also shows some other highlights: from Belichick arguing with officials about timeouts and formations to him congratulating offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels and de-facto defensive coordinator Brian Flores about the game they called and planned for. Safe to say, that it is everything you would expect from him being mic’d up.NFL Films also produced a clip for Showtimes’ Inside the NFL Authentic David Andrews Jersey , one that was shared by r/patriots and can be watched here.

Vikings Roster Cuts: We have some more roster cuts to report for the Minnesota Vikings Minnesota Vikings Hoodie , as they trim their roster down to the NFL-mandated 53-man limit by 3:00 PM Central today.Per numerous sources, the Vikings have parted ways with cornerback Craig James.(No, not the Craig James that. . .well, you know the story.)James was undrafted out of Southern Illinois, and signed with the Vikings after a mini-camp that the team held in May. He got some opportunities as a return man in addition to seeing some snaps at cornerback, but he apparently didn’t do enough to stick on the 53-man roster.No indication to this point one way or another if the Vikings are interested in bringing him back to the practice squad, but I would be slightly surprised if that were the case.We’re still two hours away from the Vikings needing to have their 53-man roster finalized, and there are still plenty of decisions to be made. We’re tracking all of them for you right here, so stay tuned to see what happens!Minnesota Vikings Injury Report: Team is healthy heading to Green Bay Through the preseason and one game Cheap Customized Minnesota Vikings Jerseys , the Minnesota Vikings are about as healthy as anyone could expect as they head into their big early season showdown with the Green Bay Packers.Although DE Everson Griffen appeared on the injury report yesterday with a toe, he’ll play. CB Mac Alexander, who missed last week’s opener, and starting CB Trae Waynes, who went out in the second quarter with a knee injury, will also play. As a matter of fact, the only player that won’t suit up is C Pat Elflein, who was officially ruled out:That’s it. And according to the team, he’s expected back soon http://www.authenticsminnesotavikings.com/cheap-andrew-sendejo-jersey , and according to Mike Zimmer, is ‘very close’ to returning. In the most recent injury report for the Green Bay Packers, though, things are a bit different, as they have two big injuries they’re dealing with right now. WR Davante Adams was a limited participant in practice, but seems to be improving. Of course the big news is the status of QB Aaron Rodgers, who heroically led the Green Bay Packers to a stirring lucky victory after losing both legs in the Battle of Passchendaele injuring his knee in the first half against the juggernaut 53 man choke job that is Mitchell Trubisky and the Chicago Bears: Khalil Mack could’ve made that throw, I bet...

Report: Injury updates for Trae Waynes;

Collins to IR and replacement signed In his weekly press conference Minnesota Vikings Hats , Mike Zimmer gave us a bit of an update on the injury front. And...we have good news and bad news. First, the good news:Yay! Both Waynes and nickel CB Mac Alexander missed all or most of yesterday’s game, so getting at least Waynes back this week will help now that it’s Packers week, and Aaron Rodgers awaits.Now, the bad news:Boooo!! Collins will be put on IR with an elbow injury he sustained last week during practice, yet in the ‘Well That Was Fast’ Department, the Vikings announced they have already signed his replacement:This stinks for Collins, who I thought showed some promise at times this preseason. He was inconsistent, but less so than some other guys that were fighting for starting jobs and roster spots. He also showed versatility, playing at both guard and tackle.Witzmann played in all 16 games last year Minnesota Vikings Hoodie , and started 13 at left guard for the Kansas City Chiefs, so he brings starting experience and perhaps more stability to a line that has really been looking for it in the wake of injuries to Nick Easton and Pat Elflein.The Vikings brought in Witzmann for a workout last week, and liked what they saw, apparently. Last year with the Chiefs, he posted a total PFF grade of 53.4, with a run grade of 54.6 and a pass block grade of 60.7.Minnesota Vikings at Los Angeles Rams: Fourth quarter open thread Trailing by a score of 28-20 coming out of the locker room, the Minnesota Vikings had to kick the ball to the Los Angeles Rams, as the Rams deferred to the second half after winning the opening coin toss. Dan Bailey once again launched one for a touchback, and the Rams started out from their own 25-yard line. After another big gain from Jared Goff to Cooper Kupp, Danielle Hunter got the first sack of the game for either team to stall the Los Angeles drive. The Rams went for a fake punt from the Minnesota 36-yard line www.thevikingsfootballauthentic.com , but Johnny Hekker’s long pass fell incomplete, and the Vikings got a huge break.The Vikings converted yet another third down, as Kirk Cousins found Stefon Diggs for a nice gain into Los Angeles territory at the 46. After Adam Thielen had to come off the field for a medical timeout after taking a hard shot, the Vikings failed to convert on third down, and Matt Wile came on to punt with Kupp fair catching the punt at the Rams’ 15.The Rams connected on a 57-yard screen pass to Todd Gurley (that was chased down by Danielle Hunter), and the play was originally flagged for a block in the back against Andrew Sendejo, but the flag was picked up because reasons. Holton Hill made a nice play on a run play to Kupp to create a five-yard loss. That was enough to stall the Rams’ drive, as they had to call on Sam Ficken for a 34-yard field goal attempt. He connected, and extended the Los Angeles lead to 31-20 with about five and a half minutes left in the third quarter.Ficken put the ball through the end zone for another touchback, and the Vikings started at their own 25 again. Cousins then threw a ball that went off of the hands of Rams’ cornerback Sam Shields and into the hands of Stefon Diggs for a first down near midfield. Cousins found Diggs again for a short gain Minnesota Vikings T-Shirt , and on the next play Cousins found Thielen for a big 45-yard touchdown! Minnesota went for two following the touchdown, and Cousins found Latavius Murray for the conversion to make it 31-28.We actually had a kickoff return on the ensuing kickoff, as Blake Countess took the ball from the goal line and took it to. . .the 25-yard line. The Rams quickly advanced to near midfield on a run by Todd Gurley and a pass from Jared Goff to Robert Woods. Wood and Goff connected again, this time for more points for the Rams as Anthony Barr was in coverage again for a 31-yard score. Ficken hit the extra point, and the Rams’ lead was back to 10 at 38-28.The Vikings got the ball at their own 25 again after another touchback with about a minute left in the quarter. Cousins found Thielen again for a 14-yard gain and a first down, and as we move to the final quarter of play, the Vikings are look at 2nd-and-8 from their own 41-yard line.Fifteen minutes of football left at the Coliseum, ladies and gentlemen, and the Vikings trail the Rams by a score of 38-28. Can the purple mount what would be a pretty sweet comeback?

News and Notes Cutdown week has come and gone.

Vikings’ NFC North Rivals: Teams have finalized their rosters Minnesota Vikings Womens T-Shirt , and players can finally breathe a sigh of relief - they’re either playing football or looking for a new job.The NFC North was a whirlwind of activity this past week - and almost none of it had to do with action on the field of play.The intrigue happened mostly in the front offices.Aaron Rodgers signed a monstrosity of a backloaded deal that will keep him in Green Bay for at least a few years.And the Bears weren’t about to be outdone, getting a deal done with the Oakland Raiders for former Defensive Player of the Year Khalil Mack.The Detroit Lions, meanwhile, signed versatile safety Quandre Diggs (No Relation) to a ho-hum three year, 20.4 million dollar contract.I say ho-hum not because it’s an insignificant amount, but because all of a sudden, twenty million dollars just seems fairly pedestrian these days.Why, oh why, couldn’t I have been born athletic instead of good-looking, charming and talented?Chicago BearsSkipping over the Khalil Mack deal momentarily, the Bears roster moves went off largely as predicted.No real unexpected names, and really no “let’s jump at the chance to sign this guy” moments, either.As far as the depth chart is concerned, the only real surprise that I see is the fact that rookie James Daniels is listed as the sole backup at all three interior O-Line positions, and the Bears kept only seven O-Linemen.For a team with so much invested in their QBOTF, Mitchell Trubisky, that just seems like a pretty big risk.On the defensive side of the ball, the addition of Mack really does add quite a bit of punch.Vic Fangio is no dummy, and now he has players that fit his needs all over the field.I’d give the Bears a very solid second place in the NFCN as far as defenses go, behind only the Vikings.Now, on to the Mack signing.The Bears gave up first round picks in 2019 and 2020 in order to get Mack, then had to turn around and sign him to a six year, $141 million contract, with $90 million of that guaranteed.This season, however, will be played under his fifth year option, paying him “only” $13.8 million (see, there’s that whole ho-hum feeling again!).What folks in Chicago don’t seem to want to talk about is the fact that, according to the folks at Over The Cap, there’s a strong possibility that Mack never sees the end of this contract.The last three years’ dead money goes from 6.8 million, to zero, to zero again.And Mack, who will be 33 years old at the end of the deal, will have a cap hit of 24, 22, and 23 million dollars those last three years.The deal seems to be making Bears fans happy, and I certainly get it.But for a team that seems to be a couple years away from contending, it seems like they’re going all in right now.The Bears open their season on Sunday Night Football in Green Bay.Not-afraid-to-make-a-prediction Prediction: Green Bay wins the game, Ridgers throws three TD passes Minnesota Vikings Hats , and the universe goes bananas because Rodgers is “back”.Detroit LionsThe Lions - who can already boast a pretty impressive starting offensive line of Taylor Decker, TJ Lang, Graham Glasgow, Frank Ragnow, and Ricky Wagner - ended up keeping 10 (ten!) offensive linemen, including Joe Dahl (who I mentioned in last week’s recap).Considering the Bears, Vikings, and Packers all have needs along the offensive line in one form or another, that almost seems like a defensive move.Lions Twitter got all riled up about Khalil Mack, as well.Local Radio host Dan Leach dug deep into his sources to try and break a story that Khalil Mack was heading to Detroit.Leach was definitely out to lunch on this one, but may have earned himself fourteen and a half years worth of free sandwiches, so there may be some consolation for him.The Lions open their season in a Monday Night must-see TV matchup, hosting the New York Jets.Not-afraid-to-make-a-prediction Prediction:The Lions win this one handily, as the Jets turn the ball over several times, and the New York media begins calling for Sam Darnold’s head on a platter.Green Bay PackersOK, I know he didn’t actually wear that outfit to the signing.But, seriously.Ughh... he’s just... such a...Oh, by the way, the Packers signed Aaron Rodgers to a new, 134 million dollar deal, with $78 Million of that guaranteed.It’s a pretty team-friendly deal, too - assuming Rodgers can be healthy and productive until he’s 40 years old.And he will, because鈥?Packers. The Packers will be on the hook for a total of $103 million in Cap space or, perhaps, $68 million in dead money in the years Rodgers turns 37, 38, and 39 years old.I guess that’s a plus for the rest of the division.On cutdown day, the team released - with an injury settlement - veteran defensive back - and fan NOTfavorite - Quinten Rollins.Rollins had slowly fallen out of favor with Packer fans since being drafted in the second round in 2015.The only player from the 2015 Packers draft class who will be on the roster to start the season is wide receiver-turned-running back Ty Montgomery, who is listed second behind starter Jamaal Williams, who is starting in place of the suspended Aaron Jones.Another player during camp that moved the needle for Packer fans - but this time in a good way - was Wide Receiver Jake Kumerow.Kumerow, dubbed ‘The Great Whitewater Hope’ has bounced around the league for a couple of years, landing on Cincinnati’s, New England’s, and Green Bay’s practice squads.In fact, there’s a pretty incredible story about him, which can be found here, that I truly encourage you to check out (no sarcasm font neccesary.It really is a good read).Yes, UW-Whitewater is in Packerland, so that kind of makes Kumerow a “local” to Packers fans Minnesota Vikings Womens Hoodie , but his story is much more than that..Unfortunately, Kumerow was placed on IR-Designated to Return, which means there’s no hope (Whitewater, or otherwise) of seeing him until week 8 at the earliest.As stated above, the Packers open their season at Lambeau on Sunday night versus the Chicago Bears.Not-afraid-to-make-a-prediction Prediction:The Pack will win (see above).Kirk Cousins is not who you think he is A few days after Kirk Cousins signed his precedent-setting contract with the Minnesota Vikings, I received a phone call from a number I didn’t recognize.Like any normal person, I didn’t answer it. Because duh who doesn’t screen their phone calls these days, amirite? Yet, the same number called again just a few minutes later, and this time they left a voicemail. When I hit ‘play’, a nervous, almost scared voice was at the other end.“I’m risking a lot by leaving this voicemail, but your new QB isn’t who you think he is. If you want to know more, meet me at the Historic Adventist Village in Battle Creek, MI, next Wednesday. 3 PM sharp. I’ll find you. Quit screening your calls, and DELETE THIS MESSAGE!”Click.I returned the call, and the number had already been disconnected. But there was something about that voice, the desperation in it, maybe, that intrigued me. I mean, who DOESN’T want to go to the museum about the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Battle Creek MI, just for giggles if nothing else? So, I headed out. My life was about to change forever, and things I felt certain about I now question. But before I can tell that story, I must tell you this one first. Who could think everything you’ve ever come to question would begin in a place like Battle Creek, MI?As I’m walking through the Adventist Center, looking at the painting of that dude that looks like a bald Col. Sanders, I was thinking ‘man I hope this town has a Kentucky Fried Chicken because I’m hungry af right now’, someone came up to me from behind.“Keep walking, and whatever you do, don’t swear”, said the voice.“Why Not?”“Because it’s a museum about the Seventh Day Adventists, you idiot.”The word ‘idiot’ drew half a dozen cross looks from the staff that made this Missouri Synod Lutheran proud and I smiled just a little bit, although all the subterfuge and cloak and dagger stuff was making me a bit uneasy. But I complied and my contact led me outside, and once there we walked about a block with no words being spoken.Holy crap I really wanted some KFC right about now. I kinda had to pee, too. I have to pee when I get nervous.“Okay”, he said. “Turn around. We’re safe here.”I turned to meet my contact. An unremarkable person, in an unremarkable town Womens Customized Minnesota Vikings Jerseys , in an unremarkable state. But what a remarkable story he was about to tell me. We introduced ourselves, and I promised this person that I wouldn’t reveal their identity. Your secret is safe with me, Frank. I’ll take it to the grave.“Look’” he began, “I know you guys are pretty happy with Kirk Cousins, your new quarterback. But let me tell you, he’s not the guy he’s made himself out to be. Not even close.”“What do you mean?” I asked. “He’s more ‘aw shucks’’ than Joe Mauer. This is a big nothing burger, which is probably what Cousins puts on his. Because God Forbid he do anything wild and crazy like put ketchup on a burger”, I said more than a bit sarcastically.I turned away to head back to my car because MAN I WANT SOME ORIGINAL RECIPE IN MAH BELLY RIGHT NOW, and my source, who I’ll call Sparty Throat, yelled “but I have proof!”I stopped, and turned to meet his gaze.“Proof, you say? Let me see.”“Plain hamburgers, huh? Take a look at this.”Sparty Throat opened the man purse European Shoulder Bag he was carrying, pulled out a picture, and handed it to me. At first glance, it was Cousins eating a burger. But...there was more. I couldn’t believe my eyes. “That’s not a plain burger”, I said. “That looks...loaded. Dragged through the garden loaded. Tomato, onion, lettuce, and a ketchup and mustard bottle, too. Damn, man. That’s pretty nuts. It’s a lot of things, but ‘plain’ is the last word I would use.”Then I noticed...it.“Mother of God...”, as my voice tailed off.“A fried egg? Yes it is. And cheese.” Sparty Throat was smiling now as he saw the look of revelation come across my face. “And I have more pictures like this. Lots more.”All of a sudden his desire to meet at a Seventh Day Adventist museum was clear—he was sending a message. And he was doing so in kind of a smart ass, ironic sort of way, which I can fully appreciate.“Okay, you have my attention. Let’s see where this takes us.”“You don’t know the half of it. This squeaky clean, boring guy image he protrays? No. Not even close. Kirk is nothing like that when the cameras aren’t rolling. Are you sure you want to keep going?”“Yeah, let’s do this.”He brought out another picture.“Take a look at this one”, as he thrust his smelly Michigan paw towards me.I looked, and didn’t really see anything.“I don’t see the big deal with this one,” I half muttered. “It’s just a picture of Cousins eating a bowl of plain oatmeal, probably made right here in Battle Creek.”“Look closer,” Sparty Throat said, almost mockingly. “Next to the bowl. And then look closely at the oatmeal box.”I blinked, then stared. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I closed my eyes, rubbed them with my thumb and forefinger. Sighed, then opened them. Looked again. Harder this time. What was I missing?Then I saw it. Are you sure? Yes www.vikingscheapshops.com , I was sure...it was unmistakable.“Sugar. He put sugar on his oatmeal. And it looks like the oatmeal is a made in China knock off brand.”“Yes!” Sparty Throat exclaimed. “Do you see now? He’s a fraud! His whole image is a fraud, a persona.”He quickly spun his head around, like he was looking for something, someone.“What’s the matter? Are you waiting to meet someone else, get us in to a bidding war? Because let me tell you something, I’m a blogger. I don’t make shit. I mean, I write shit, create shit—terrible, awful shit (Ed note: AHEM), but I can’t pay you the kind of money you’re probably going to be asking for.”“No. No no no, it’s not that. Kirk has spies everywhere. If he knew we were talking, my life would be over.”“Wait, Kirk Cousins would have you killed?”“No. But he would sabotage my life in ways that I can’t begin to describe.”“Try me.”“Well, at the next church social, we have to all bring a tater tot casserole (ED. note: It’s casserole, not hot dish, you Jacobins) of some kind. It wouldn’t be above Kirk to swap out my award winning sausage and cheese casserole with a tuna noodle casserole...with no potatoes or tater tots in it at all. Just noodles.”“Jesus Christ. Tuna noodle casserole? That’s heinous. With peas, too?”“Two cans instead of one.”“What kind of monster is this guy?” I asked as I let out a long, low whistle.“There’s a good chance he wouldn’t have even cooked the tuna all the way through, and would have pulled the noodles out of the water a few minutes early, so they’re still just a little bit crunchy.”“My God, you’d be ruined.”“Yeah. I could never show my face in that church again, and I’d probably have to move, too.”Sparty Throat got quiet, pensive. A look of sadness came across his face, and I felt sympathy for the man, and the situation he was in.“That’s Kirk, though. He’s got a personality, and a sense of humor. Look, go to Ypsilanti. There’s a Midas shop there, ask for Bob. He’s worked on Kirk’s conversion van for years. He’ll tell you a story or two about Kirk. And you do with that information what you will. I have to go. His spies are everywhere.”And with that, he was off.And I was off to Ypsilanti, because I had to get the truth,* the whole truth,** and nothing but the truth.****If you guys haven’t figured out this is a parody, don’t take an IQ test. You’ll be disappointed.**Seriously, completely made up.***Tuna casserole is the worst casserole though, that’s 100% true.

to get a W that was hand gifted to them by the unfortunate kicker for the unfortunate Browns. While the team improved in some areas Cheap Alex Anzalone Jersey , they still have a lot to work on if they want to be playing in January. Limit Big Plays Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY SportsThe defense slightly resembled their 2017 counterparts and performed much better in key areas. Firstly, they limited the big plays this week, giving up only three passes of 20 or more yards. This was something they struggled with against Tampa Bay, as DeSean Jackson and Mike Evans were able to get deep on them all game. The defensive line was also able to get more of a push at the line of scrimmage, as well as pressure Tyrod Taylor multiple times, including two sacks by team captain Cameron Jordan. They limited Carols Hyde to only 43 rushing yards, and did an excellent job at containing any rushing attempts by Tyrod Taylor, minus the two plays where he was able to break free. 3rd down efficiency One of the main areas of concern for the offense last year reappeared in this game, as the Saints went 3-of-12 on 3rd down conversions. Cleveland was able to consistently bring pressure on 3rd downs, sacking Brees 3 times. Defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi gave the interior offensive line fits all day http://www.thesaintsfootballauthentic.com/tyeler-davison-jersey-authentic , and racked up two sacks (he had a third that was wiped away by a penalty). Converting on 3rd downs are crucial, as it can keep your defense off the field; and that may be a good thing while the defense gets into season form.Where’s the run?Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY SportsA key component of this team’s success last season was the efficiency of the run game. Kamara and Mark Ingram were the most dynamic duo the NFL had ever seen, but without Ingram the Saints have been held to 105 yards for a measly 2.56 YPC (yards per carry). Granted, part of that is the team falling behind so early in the games. Perhaps Sean Payton will change things schematically for the run game, or they could call Boston Scott up from the practice squad and see what the duo of he and Kamara look like together. No matter what happens, this is an area that needs to improve and fast. The Falcons have a high scoring offense and the less time they are on the field the better. Thomas, Kamara, etc.Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY SportsThere’s a reason we call him “Can’t Guard Mike.” Through the first two weeks, he is leading the team in receptions and has broken the record for most receptions in the first two games with an impressive 28 catches on 30 targets. He is arguably the best wide receiver Brees has had his entire career, and has been a large reason the Saints have stayed competitive in the first two games. Right behind him is the reigning offensive rookie of the year Alvin Kamara with 15 catches. The two have combined for 43 receptions in the first two weeks http://www.thesaintsfootballauthentic.com/terron-armstead-jersey-authentic , which accounts for over 66% of all the output from the passing attack. Much like the one dimensional run game, the passing game needs to see someone else step up and contribute. Thomas will face some great cornerbacks later in the season, and if he is taken out of a game the offense needs to continue to move the ball. This week will be the Saints toughest match yet. The Falcons boast a speedy defense and top 10 offense that will test both sides of the ball for us, but improving in some critical areas will get us back on track and “prove them right.” Saints NewsSaints' Payton focuses on accountability after stunning loss | Football | stltoday.comMETAIRIE, La. Wide receiver Brandon Coleman and tight end Michael Hoomanawanui are the only two players on the Physically Unable to Perform list. They both worked through rehab off to the side. All other players who either had injuries related to late last season or this offeseason, or who missed some part of OTAs or mini camp were available. The New Orleans Saints have had one of the NFL's best offenses since Sean Payton took the reigns as head coach in 2006. One of the things that made the New Orleans passing offense so dangerous was the depth of their talent. Quarterback Drew Brees often liked to spread the ball around to as many as five or six different receiving threats, all of whom had the capability to be a factor in the outcome of a game. The 2017 season was a bit of a different story. Second year wide receiver Michael Thomas established himself as one of the top receivers in the league, making his first of probably many Pro Bowl berths with a team-record 104 catch season for 1,245 yards and 5 touchdowns. Rookie running back Alvin Kamara added 81 catches for 826 yards on his way to offensive rookie of the year and his first Pro Bowl berth. Ted Ginn Jr. provided an expected big play threat, even in his 11th season, and was also a better all-around wideout than at any point in his career. The Saints got very little production consistently from their other pass catchers last year, however, prompting Payton to highlight this area as one of the team's biggest offseason focuses. Today we take a look at three players that New Orleans brought in to give additional targets for quarterback Drew Brees. Cameron Meredith, WRPhoto by Jonathan Daniel/Getty ImagesMeredith was signed away from the Chicago Bears this offseason as a restricted free agent. He was the Bears leading receiver in 2016, his second season, with 66 receptions for 888 yards and 4 touchdowns. Coming into 2017 http://www.thesaintsfootballauthentic.com/wil-lutz-jersey-authentic , Meredith was considered to be one of the league's up and coming wideouts, until a devastating knee injury sustained in the preseason ended his season. He's a big receiver (6'3, 207-lbs.) with the speed to make plays downfield, and can be a factor from both the slot and outside. Ted Ginn Jr. had a nice season opposite star receiver Michael Thomas, but Meredith is considered the early favorite to take over the number two receiving duties. He is a physical receiver that will win most battles in the middle of the field, but has the athleticism to be a threat along the sideline and down the field. We won't see much from Meredith during team OTA's and mini-camp as he finishes out his rehab, but all indication is that he will be ready for preseason. All eyes are on how quickly Meredith makes a full recovery from his knee injury, and he does have just one season of productivity, but he looks to be the ideal number two compliment to Thomas in a Saints offense who's complimentary targets struggled to consistently produce a year ago. Tre'quan Smith, WRDerick E. Hingle-USA TODAY SportsThe Saints drafted Smith in the 3rd round, the 91st overall pick, from Central Florida this spring. Smith led UCF in receptions and yardage in all three of his seasons with the Knights, scoring 22 career touchdowns. He has prototypical NFL size (6'2, 203-lbs.) with excellent down field speed. Smith accelerates quickly into his routes, and has outstanding body control to adjust tothe ball in mid-air. He is expected to be an immediate deep threat for New Orleans, and shows the potential to be a devastating intermediate weapon for a Saints offense that struggled on 3rd downs last season. Smith's likely role, at least initially, will be primarily as an outside receiver. He will get alot of snaps against the Saints' first team defense throughout OTA's and mini-camp to showcase his abilities, while Meredith works his way back from a knee injury. His gamebreaking potential and ability on sideline routes can stretch an opposing defense both vertically and along the boundaries Youth Drew Brees Jersey , also opening up short and intermediate routes for the Saints other receivers. Benjamin Watson, TEPhoto by Stacy Revere/Getty ImagesWatson returns to New Orleans as a free agent, after playing for the team from 2013-15. The 37-yr. old veteran had the best season of his 14-yr. NFL career with the Saints in 2015, catching 74 passes for 825 yards and six touchdowns. After departing to the Baltimore Ravens in free agency, Watson missed the '16 season with injury, but bounced back nicely last year with 61 receptions for 522 yards and 4 scores. He still has the athleticism to threaten the defense on seam routes, and is a trusted target for quarterback Drew Brees, particularly on 3rd downs and near the end zone. Watson is also one of the best blocking tight ends in the league, and will still be expected to be an every down contributor for the Saints offense due to his versatility. He is a major upgrade to a tight end unit that produced little for New Orleans in the 2017 season. Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY SportsPrior to 2017, the Saints offense had finished in the top 5 of the league in 3rd down percentage in ten of Sean Payton's first eleven years as head coach, and first in the NFL over the last three seasons. Last year's New Orleans offense dropped to just 19th in 3rd down percentage. The acquisitions of Meredith, Smith, and Watson were made specifically to improve that ranking. The Saints moved on from wideout Willie Snead and tight end Coby Fleener after disappointing 2017 campaigns. The team re-signed Brandon Coleman, who has the trust of Brees and will provide quality depth, as will returning tight end Josh Hill. Kamara and Thomas are as dangerous as any offensive players in the league, but the Saints now look to have a deeper and more talented pass receiving corps for their Hall of Fame quarterback, perhaps making a very productive offense into an elite championship caliber unit.

Watch the epilogue of the “Tom vs Time”

documentary on Patriots quarterback Tom Brady In January Authentic Stephen Gostkowski Jersey , it has been reported that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will be the subject of a documentary that will give an intimate behind-the-scenes look at the NFL’s biggest star – one that is coincidentally the face of the league’s most seclusive franchise: The series Tom vs Time chronicled Brady’s fight against football mortality in six episodes.The first five of those episodes premiered over the course of the two weeks leading up to Super Bowl LII, with another one airing a month after New England’s 41-33 loss on the game’s biggest stage. However, the series finale turned out to not be the last episode of the series: an epilogue was announced yesterday and went online earlier today.The epilogue – titled The Next Game – shows a reflective Brady talking about the drama that was created by some members of the media surrounding his absence during voluntary workout. It also shows a player looking forward to the challenges ahead, one far from done.You can watch the episode above or by following this link, and the previous ones here:Week 1 Patriots vs Texans: Scouting Deshaun Watson, J.J. Watt and the rest of the Houston Texans After a brief 217 day absence, the Patriots play their first meaningful game since the Super Bowl this Sunday. Opening the year in Foxboro’s Gillette Stadium, they’ll be hosting a Bill O’Brien-led Texans team for the fifth time in the last four years, six if you include the 2017 preseason game and joint practices from that week. Featuring an electric young quarterback in Deshaun Watson, the Texans are coming off of a lost year when seemingly their entire starting lineup was injured. They didn’t have a first or second round pick because of their last two quarterbacks, using the one to trade up for Watson and the two to dump Brock Osweiler’s awful contract. Despite those woes, the Texans are always a tough matchup – especially when healthy on their defense.Scouting the Texans’ offenseDeshaun WatsonBelichick’s Patriots have historically dominated Bill O’Brien’s Texans, as well as other coaches from his tree. But when preparing for the 2018 Texans, it’s fair to say that only the game film from 2017 seems to be relevant, at least for their offense. Watson stole the starting job from an undeserving Tom Savage halfway through week 1 last year and looked like he belonged immediately. Watson was well on his way to winning offensive rookie of the year before he went down with a freak right ACL tear in practice in November. Sunday’s matchup will be just over ten months since the injury. Based on his preseason Youth Ryan Allen Jersey , Watson didn’t look limited, but it’s important to factor in the human aspect of injury. While Watson dazzled with his mobility with plays like these...I wouldn’t expect to see a whole lot of plays like this on Sunday. Don’t get me wrong, Watson is still mobile and the Patriots are right to treat him like one with the scout team quarterbacks, but I would be shocked if Watson approached the many out of the pocket passes and eight rushes that he had against the Patriots last year in his first real NFL game back. If I were the Patriots, I would embrace what de-facto defensive coordinator Brian Flores has done with the Patriots defense in the preseason and send more pressure at Watson. The Texans’ offensive line was terrible in 2017 and the only member of the line that started week 3 that will start on Sunday is center Nick Martin. But to be honest, the replacements that the Texans brought in don’t inspire that much confidence.At left tackle, they are starting Julien Davenport, a second year project fourth round tackle that was pretty poor in spot starts last year. At right tackle is Seantrel Henderson, an old Bills foe that hasn’t started a game at tackle since 2015 because of Crohn’s disease and all the weed he had to smoke to manage the pain. And they’ll start two guys at guard that don’t really scare anyone in Zach Fulton and Senio Kelemete. The Patriots will be able to get pressure with a four-man rush, but they should be able send extra guys because...Defending the skill players...without the available draft capital, the Texans didn’t upgrade their offensive skill players, returning a group of DeAndre Hopkins, Will Fuller, Ryan Griffin, and Lamar Miller. With apologies to Sammie Coates http://www.patriotsauthorizedshop.com/authentic-patrick-chung-jersey , Tyler Ervin, Jordan Akins, and Keke Coutee, the Texans’ fifth offensive skill player should not present an obstacle to the Patriots’ defense. A game plan of the 6’1 Eric Rowe with the safety shaded to his side on Hopkins, and Gilmore on Will Fuller makes a lot of sense, leaving the other guys with winnable matchups. For the Texans offense, a lot hinges on how good Watson will be and how much of a threat he is as a mobile QB just ten months removed from a surgery that usually takes a full year to recover full explosiveness. The Patriots couldn’t have done a worse job with Watson last year, but they return with an improved and more athletic defense that should be up to the task.Scouting the Texans’ defenseLet’s talk about the pressureDespite having missed most of the last few years with injuries, the face of the Texans’ franchise is still J.J. Watt, who at his peak was clearly the best defensive player in the NFL. And while he isn’t the same monster that he once was, he’s still among the best in the game with Jadeveon Clowney and Whitney Mercilus feasting off of the double teams he still draws. Last year, the Patriots struggled mightily to contain the dangerous trio in their one-on-one matchups. Brady was sacked five times, including a fumble-six forced by Mercilus on a clean win against Solder:Even when the Patriots completed some nice plays, Brady was getting hit, and hit hard – nine times to be exact. Here are the four non-sack hits on Brady from that game:On each of those four plays Eric Rowe Jersey , the Texans run some sort of stunt and get a hit in on Brady. It’s on the left tackle and guard in the first three clips and over the center on the fourth clip. This kind of quick pressure generated by four players against a 6-man protection is just unreal and speaks to the talent of the Texans’ defensive linemen. On four of the biggest plays of the game, the Patriots felt compelled to have their most talented skill player chip in protection, and despite that, pressure made it through.The Texans have made a change at defensive coordinator with Vrabel off coaching the Titans, but the scheme should remain the same. Romeo Crennel (who was also the defensive coordinator in Texas from 2014-16) runs the same kind of schemes and Belichick is obviously well acquainted with his strategy as well. I expect the Patriots to be much better prepared for the Texans’ pass rush. PersonnelThe Patriots’ top three wide receivers in that game were Chris Hogan, Brandin Cooks, and Danny Amendola, with Phillip Dorsett only chipping in with seven snaps as the fourth wideout. Hogan, Dorsett, and Cordarrelle Patterson is obviously a step back from that trio and I suspect that the Patriots will adjust accordingly. In last year’s game, James Develin and Dwayne Allen played a combined 50% of defensive snaps. This Sunday that number should be closer to 100%. The Patriots need to take advantage of Mercilus and Clowney covering and playing the run in their base defense.The Patriots are still going to have to chip Watt and Clowney on the edges and ideally, they would prefer that guy to be Allen. I would also bet on the Patriots inserting some tight end screens or phantom blocks into the game plan to take advantage if the Texans get too aggressive.For the rest of the Texans’ defense, the Patriots should have an advantage against the secondary, but it has improved over recent years. One common theme from the Texans over the last decade or so has been that they could never have quality safety play. From Danieal Manning to D.J. Swearinger to Andre Hal to Quintin Demps to Eddie Pleasant to Corey Moore... you get the picture, they have all been mediocre fill-ins at best. This offseason Authentic David Andrews Jersey , they finally realized the position to be a glaring weakness and signed Tyrann Mathieu, while moving back long time cornerback Kareem Jackson to safety to shore up the position. It will be very interesting to see how those two match up against Gronkowski and James White/Rex Burkhead because both of their starting linebackers (McKinney and Zach Cunningham) can’t cover for shit. Johnathan Joseph is somehow still starting for them at CB along with Kevin Johnson and ex-Jag slot guy Aaron Colvin. Not a group that is going to shut you down, but a group that has seen Brady many times and could pose a problem to one of the weakest and shallowest wide receiver positional groups that Brady has ever had. My two cents on the Patriots offense: heavy on the ground game and bigger personnel to set up play-action passing. While the Texans mostly relied on a four-man rush in obvious passing situations, according to PFF they were the tied for the most aggressive team in the NFL when it came to blitzing on 1st down, making them even more susceptible to this strategy. Final ThoughtsIt seems criminal to type out 1,500 words and not mention the special teams battle so I guess I’ll put a little blurb in here. The Texans have consistently been a bottom-ten special teams positional group and they fired Patriots special teams legend Larry Izzo as their coach in the offseason. It’s too early to tell if there will be improvements, but the Patriots should be able to comfortably outplay them in that aspect of the game. I’m excited to see Cordarrelle Patterson in the return game.All in all, the Texans are no pushover, and represent a real threat to the Patriots in their home opener. That being said, I think that the Patriots learn from their first meeting with Watson and win and cover on Sunday. I think that there will be plenty of scoring drives for both sides but I don’t see how they have the second highest over/under of the week. For all of the betting men out there, I’ll take Patriots (-6.5) and the under (51).Week 1 prediction: Patriots 27 Texans 20

championships http://www.newenglandpatriotsteamonline.com/tom-brady-jersey , three NFL MVP awards and more victories than any quarterback in a career spanning nearly two decades.One thing he doesn't have: a loss to the Bears. Not that he wants one.Brady looks to remain unbeaten against them when the New England Patriots visit Chicago on Sunday.The Bears are 0-4 and one of five teams never to beat him, along with Atlanta (5-0), Dallas (4-0), Minnesota (4-0) and Tampa Bay (4-0). And he isn't slowing down at 41 years old."I admire his competitiveness and just following his journey and what he's had to overcome to be able to get where he's at," Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky said. "It's very admirable and doing it this long this well over a long period of time is pretty incredible."Brady already had more victories than any quarterback when the Patriots (4-2) beat the Kansas City Chiefs 43-40 last week. That made him the first with 200 regular-season wins.Brady came through , passing for 340 yards and a touchdown while running for another score. He also helped set up Stephen Gostkowski's 28-yard winning field goal Womens David Andrews Jersey , and the Patriots amassed season highs in points and yards (500).The Bears (3-2) lost 31-28 in overtime at Miami after winning three in a row. They remained in sole possession of the NFC North lead, though star pass rusher Khalil Mack injured his right ankle.Trubisky threw for 316 yards, three TDs and an interception last week. He has 670 yards, nine touchdowns and one interception over the past two games."I think he's done a good job of getting ball to the players that are open or in space and letting them be playmakers," Patriots coach Bill Belichick said. "He has a lot of them. That's the quarterback's job is to deliver the ball to the playmakers and let them go. I think he's done a good job of that. He's a tough kid, which I respect. That's what we would ask our quarterbacks to do Authentic Lawrence Guy Jersey , to make plays to help our team win, to get the ball to the players that are open and in space. It's not about stats."Here are some things to know as New England goes for its fourth straight win and Chicago tries to avoid its first losing streak:MACK HURTINGMack's ankle would be a big concern no matter who the Bears were playing. The fact that they're facing Brady and the Patriots only adds to it.Mack stayed in against Miami after being injured early in the game. But the two-time All-Pro's streak of at least one sack and one forced fumble in each of the first four games ended.With Mack less than 100 percent, the defense wasn't the same.Chicago never sacked Brock Osweiler. The Bears got run over by Frank Gore for 101 yards. And defenders missed tackles on Albert Wilson , turning two shorter passes into long touchdowns.HOME AND AWAYNew England is 0-2 away from home, while the Bears are 2-0 at Soldier Field.With a loss, the Patriots would match their worst road start since 1995. Chicago hasn't been 3-0 at home since winning its first four at Soldier Field in 2012.ROOKIE WATCHThe neck injury to Rex Burkhead in Week 3 and his subsequent injured reserve designation created a hole at running back for the Patriots. Rookie Sony Michel has stepped up to fill the gap nicely.After not scoring a rushing touchdown over the first three weeks of the season Authentic Shaq Mason Jersey , the Patriots have seven over the last three. Michel has four of them, including two 100-yard rushing games.Michel's production has helped bolster an offense that has scored 30 or more points in three straight games. The Patriots averaged just 19 points per game in their first three, losing twice. Michel missed all four preseason games with a knee issue and said he's gotten more comfortable each week.PICKING IT OFFNew England's defense has an interception in all six games in 2018. It is the first time the team has had six consecutive games with a pick since 2013, when it did it in eight straight.The team record for most games to start the season with at least one interception is 11 in 1985. The Patriots intercepted Kansas City's Patrick Mahomes twice in their 43-40 victory last week.YARDWORKChicago's Tarik Cohen eyes his third straight game with at least 100 yards from scrimmage.He caught seven passes for 90 yards and ran for 31 against Miami coming off a career performance two weeks earlier vs. Tampa Bay. The second-year pro set personal highs in yards receiving (121) and yards from scrimmage (174) against the Buccaneers.2018 Patriots roster cuts: New England releases safety Damarius Travis, guard Luke Bowanko The New England Patriots continue thinning out their roster by releasing two more players: strong safety Damarius Travis and offensive guard Luke Bowanko have both been let go by the team.NESN’s Doug Kyed was the first to report Travis getting released...while The Athletic’s Jeff Howe had the news regarding Bowanko:Travis is a candidate to re-join New England’s practice squad for the second straight year. Last year’s stint there led to him earning practice player of the week honors six times, while gathering experience for another run at the 53. However Womens Julian Edelman Jersey , he failed to stand out this summer and even with Jordan Richards traded to the Atlanta Falcons is not able to survive the cut.Meanwhile, Bowanko’s tenure with the team will likely come to an end. As part of the injury settlement, he will now receive pre-negotiated payments by New England for a period that depends on the severity of his injury. However, he cannot be re-signed by the Patriots during that time. Once that settlement period is over, Bowanko is free to join any team’s roster but would have to wait an additional six weeks to join New England’s again.

Week 2 Patriots vs Jaguars: than ball security The New England Patriots will face one of the NFL’s premier defenses today and for head coach Bill Belichick this means one thing: stressing ball security. The Patriots need to do a better job than last week Youth Tom Brady Jersey , when they turned the football over a combined three times, if they plan on leaving Jacksonville win a win under their collective belt – and Belichick knows it: “There’s nothing more important for us in this game than taking care of the ball,” he said in this week’s edition of the Belestrator.The breakdown stars with Belichick and host Scott Zolak taking a look at the Jacksonville Jaguars’ high-powered defense. Using adjectives like “fast” and “athletic”, Belichick points out that the unit does a good job of rushing the quarterback and is able to close space quickly versus the pass.An interception during last year’s playoffs is shown as an example: cornerback Jalen Ramsey deflects a pass intended for Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown and safety Barry Church is able to run it back for a touchdown. After that play, Belichick and Zolak take a look at middle linebacker Myles Jack and how his athleticism makes him a threat to quickly turn takeaways into points.The conversation then changed to the offensive side of the football, where Keelan Cole established himself as a potent option at the wide receiver position. Belichick points out that quarterback Blake Bortles does a good job of using his weapons – Cole in the example used in the breakdown – and as a very good deep ball thrower can put pressure on the deep parts of a defense.Bortles, who has struggled with inconsistency throughout his four-year career, is also dangerous as a runner. Last week against the New York Giants http://www.patriotsauthorizedshop.com/authentic-devin-mccourty-jersey , he even registered Jacksonville’s longest play of the day, a 41-yard run. “We can’t let him out [of the pocket],” Belichick said about the former first-round draft pick. The Patriots’ head coach noted that the Jaguars’ big play ability is generally something his team needs to be prepared for.“Between their running game, their defense and their big plays on offense, they can score in a hurry,” Belichick said.New England Patriots links 8/29/18 - Josh McDaniels will make it work; Having Tom Brady helps TEAM TALKErik Scalavino shares the practice notes and locker-room buzz from Tuesday at Gillette: ‘Been a hard week’ for Edelman.Andy Hart reports that in spite of all the turnover, Josh McDaniels presents an optimistic front when asked for his thoughts on the offense.Paul Perillo notes DL coach Brendon Daly likes the depth up front, talking up potential contributors Deatrich Wise and Derek Rivers.Erik Scalavino tackles this week’s Ask PFW Mailbag: Whittling down the roster.Angelique Fiske tells us why Joe Cardona deserves the Ron Burton Community Service Award.
Chargers inactives for week 2

Gametime is just over an hour away and we have the list of inactives for the Los Angeles Chargers for week 2 at the Buffalo Bills.Travis Benjamin was a gametime decision. After spending this week in a walking boot during practice Womens Virgil Green Jersey , he apparently tested out the foot during pre-game warmups and couldn’t go. This likely means JJ Jones will get a chance to redeem himself returning kicks and punts, while Mike Williams should see increased snaps at WR this week. Start em if you got em. Forrest Lamp being inactive is a bit of a surprise, especially after Anthony Lynn said this week that he could get some snaps this week. Not to mention the fact that this now means the only OL depth are 2 rookies, UDFA T Trent Scott who got called up from the practice squad yesterday, and 5th round pick Scott Quessenberry who can play C or G. Joe Barksdale and Joey Bosa continue to be out. No timetable on Barksdale yet but reports are coming out this morning that Bosa will likely be out into October.The Lightning Strike: I Believe in Artavis Scott “You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain,”It’s an iconic line that genuinely can represent many scenarios where the person who works to be something, ends up becoming the very thing the promised themselves they would never see facing them back in the mirror. If you aren’t familiar with the opening line of this column, it’s one of the most quotable lines from the hit blockbuster film “The Dark Knight.” The follows the titular character, Bruce Wayne, dressing up as a vigilante, protecting the crime-ridden streets of Gotham City. From battling against mob dealers to battling for the soul of Gotham in a fist fight with his arch-nemesis The Joker, The Dark Knight is a cinematic masterpiece that speaks volumes of people’s character, ambitions, and dreams that might never become a reality. Plus, Heath Ledger’s Joker is the greatest cinema villain of all-time. In the movie, there’s a scene at the Wayne Penthouse where Bruce along with hundreds of local Gotham City members is at a fundraiser to support the city’s District Attorney Harvey Dent. Dent is a young http://www.sandiegochargersteamonline.com/kyzir-white-jersey , sophisticated lawyer who wants to play his role in helping to make Gotham City a better place for the inhabitants to live in. During his campaign and throughout all the movie posters, Dent was seen with half his face covered, brooding away while holding a red and blue button. The words on the button; “I believe in Harvey Dent.” When looking at a football roster, The Dark Knight or even the entire Batman series could be tied together to explain every role a person plays in making their roster stronger. The Los Angeles Chargers are no different from this analogy as they have weapons on their team that could mimic the famous D.C. comic strip. Philip Rivers is, of course, Batman; our leader hero who has had a troubled past and looks to take matters into his own to save the future. Cemented with millions of dollars, our hero could leave but instead fights for the city he cares so deeply for. In all seriousness, Rivers might be the NFL’s Batman based off their similarities. After constant losing seasons and a lack of growth from the organization, the 36-year old quarterback could have left at any time to chase a ring, and no one would have argued with him. Instead, he stands behind his organization as the watchful protector that his franchise needs. Anthony Lynn is Commissioner Jim Gordon: a hard-nosed cop who no one saw becoming Commissioner, but impressed since taking over. Lynn went from Buffalo Bills running back coach to interim head coach to Chargers head coach in a matter of months. In his first season, the Bolts went 9-7, just missing the playoffs but showing growth under their new leader. The City of Los Angeles is the City of Gotham; Melvin Gordon is the reliable butler, Alfred while Keenan Allen is Batman’s safety net in Lucius Fox. The Joker and the rest of Batman’s villains are the rest of the NFL. The only way for Batman to save Gotham City is by beating his foes and sending them away to jail...or the NFL offseason. Which brings us to Harvey Dent. Dent later becomes Two-Face, a mass murdering psychopath who decides who his victim’s fate by flipping a coin. Dent was forced into corruption due to the easy persuasion of the Joker to seek vengeance on those he once considered friends. Following Thursday’s comeback victory to the San Francisco 49ers http://www.sandiegochargersteamonline.com/melvin-gordon-jersey , Chargers wide receiver could be Los Angeles’ Harvey Dent. The second-year pass catcher out of Clemson is one of the many Chargers who could be looking for work following Saturday’s 53 man roster finalization. With the Chargers receiving corp looking strong headed into the season with the likes of Allen, Mike Williams, Tyrell Williams and Travis Benjamin, the Bolts could look to bolster another position’s depth and send the former Tiger packing. But like those of Gotham City believing in the White Knight, the Chargers nation should hold their button’s high proclaiming “I believe in Artavis Scott.”Now, will Scott ever be a standout receiver for the Chargers? Probably not. Will he offer them another weapon in the passing game to help keep offensive drives alive? Absolutely. Scott might not do many things great, but his versatility on both the offense and on special does give him qualities worth keeping for another season. Size and Stability There are positives and negatives to Scott’s overall game. The most prominent narrative is his stature. Listed at a generous 5 foot 10 inches, the second-year man will be limited in the slot if he wants to make an impact. Larger cornerbacks will eat him alive on the outside while his window of opportunity will diminish closer to the hash marks. Inside, however, Scott’s routes are clean, precise and a safety net for a quarterback to dump off to under pressure. His majority of routes include slants, outs, curls, ins, overs and every once a while a post across the middle. His bread and butter is in the short-yard passing game to keep drives alive instead of being the downfield hero. As for stability, Scott spent his rookie season on the practice squad. While maybe that won’t scream “top caliber potential” with plenty of receivers hitting the free agent market heading into Saturday http://www.sandiegochargersteamonline.com/joey-bosa-jersey , Scott has experience work with Lynn and offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt. He understands the playbook, knows the signals and has the knowledge of what exactly his coach truly wants out of a player. Building a bond takes time, and Scott has undoubtedly earned the right to say his bonds are tight with the Chargers staff. Production Preseason games are the equivalent of practice SAT; they mean jack squat until you put it to action. Still, the more you learn, the better prepared you are for the real shindig. This preseason, Scott’s been flying high with passing grades on those practice test after three solid outings. This preseason, Scott has collected eight receptions on ten targets for 82 yards. The big kicker is his average yard per catch. In three preseason appearances, Scott has averaged 9.6 yards per catch, setting the Chargers up with nearly a first down every time he gets the ball. Although those numbers are skyrocketing up the chart of the participation trophy known as “preseason stats,” but when you break it down, Scott has been the most consistent weapon for the Chargers offense all preseason. That will hold much higher measures heading into the regular season. Add on that Scott has averaged 24.5 yards per return and that still proves that he could be worth a roster spot heading into Saturday.About Last NightAll that you saw before was written before heading into Thursday’s preseason finale. Now it’s time to address the big elephant in the room. During a kickoff return early Thursday night, Scott went down clutching his right leg. He would need help getting off the field and would be carted back to the locker room. While taking a trip on the cart doesn’t always mean a player’s season has come to an end, it’s still not a good sign moving forward. Since we’re staying with the Batman theme, Scott got blown up in the warehouse like Dent and is now recovering from a severe injury that could cost him some time. The budding star of the Chargers preseason is now in remission, and his city can either cast him out or help him recover. Depending on the longevity of the injury, there are multiple ways for the Chargers to address to this situation. If expected to miss a game or two http://www.sandiegochargersteamonline.com/jahleel-addae-jersey , sign him to the final roster and be short-handed at receiver. By the looks of how the Chargers unit has played this preseason, Scott’s “ace in the hole” mentality might not be needed. If expected to miss a more extended period, place him on the injured reserve list and keep him in the back pocket for the future. Even if waived, it’s unlikely a team will add an injured player to their roster over a healthy one. Then there’s option C which could lead to Scott’s transformation to the dark side. They waive him, no one picks him up and instead, the team releases him once healthy. Injuries are a tricky situation, but more often than not, this is the outlook. In the end, Scott’s resume provides excellent background recommendations and knowledge of the system to qualify him for the job. If waived after a strong outing in training camp, it will be Los Angeles this time who won’t be so lucky. Scott’s growth this season could merit him another roster spot for a new team, thus corrupting him to the dark side. If there’s promise in a player, give them a chance to show their worth. Scott’s return ability and potential safety net option across the middle of the field could give the Chargers a unique offensive identity for the upcoming season. It is easier to have a player with potential talent rather than cutting them and seeing them succeed on another roster. Scott isn’t a game changer, but his skills merit a roster spot. In the similar words of Harvey Dent “You either make the roster or last long enough to make sure your vengeance is justified when you return.” For the Chargers sake, Scott’s safer to their success on the bench or even the injured reserve list rather than against him on the field.

Caleb Sturgis has won the kicking competition Womens Derwin James Jersey ,The Los Angeles Chargers have had an ongoing battle for the Kicker position all offseason after adding Caleb Sturgis on a two year deal and Roberto Aguayo on a one year contract. It would appear that decision has now been made.Roberto Aguayo, a former second round selection of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2016 NFL Draft, performed quite well with the Chargers over the course of the competition. Through four preseason games, he went a perfect three for three in field goals (Sturgis went two for three, for reference) and also did not miss an extra point. In the practice session I attended, he closed the day out going eight for nine, with the only miss being a 53 yard attempt that he hit on his second try. This was the fourth team Aguayo has had a chance with, though it may not be his last. When you consider how he was with the Buccaneers Joe Barksdale Jersey , it would appear he has come a long way in fixing whatever issues he was having. He clearly has the talent to be a successful NFL kicker, he has shown as much and it’s not exactly every year that a kicker gets selected in the second round. Caleb Sturgis, the kicker the Chargers have decided to enter the season with, was signed to a two year contract worth 4.45 million dollars. This quote from Anthony Lynn after the week four contest against the San Francisco 49ers shows that the team anticipated this to be the eventual outcome of the battle...I think I speak for everyone when I say that I hope this kicking decision goes better than the last one this team made entering the 2017 season. "Taking that year off makes you appreciate football, made my body feel young again."A triceps injury in the opener wiped out the rest of the 2017 season for Iupati.In the offseason, as he entered the fourth year of a five-year, $40 million contract he signed with Arizona, Iupati agreed to a $3 million pay cut to come back for what under the new deal could be his final season in the desert. He will earn $5 million this year."I just figured it was better than going somewhere else to start new," he said. "I'm starting new here."And so far Iupati seems to love the physical, run-oriented offense installed by new coach Steve Wilks and offensive coordinator Mike McCoy.Pro Football Focus gave Iupati a 97.2 rating for his 31 snaps in Arizona's two preseasons game. That made him the NFL's highest-rated player this preseason."The man is playing about as good as anyone I've seen play up front," quarterback Sam Bradford said. "This camp, just watching him play, it's been pretty impressive both in the run game and the pass game. He just seems to be kind of swallowing guys up out there."Left tackle D.J. Humphries sees Iupati at work up close. This is, Humphries reminds people, a player who has been to four Pro Bowls. But injuries have kept Humphries and Iupati from playing together much, and Humphries loves what he's seeing.While Iupati is a quiet guy who rarely says much, Humphries said he's seen the big guard explode with emotion on the field this preseason."I can look over and see that dude pumped about whoopin' somebody, seeing him beating his chest for the first time on the grass, with me beside him, it gives me chills," Humphries said. "It's a scary feeling to see that dude — as calm, cool and collected as he is (normally) — out of his mind on the field. The first time I've ever seen him like that."The first team's offensive line play probably has been the most impressive thing about the Cardinals in their first two preseason games. Newcomers Justin Pugh and Andre Smith are at right guard and right tackle, respectively. Starting center A.Q. Shipley went down with a season-ending knee injury before the first preseason game, but rookie Mason Cole has filled in well.Iupati calls the line "awesome.""We're doing good, just communicating with each other and having fun," he said.Wilks calls the offensive line the strength of the team."I think they've proven that the way they performed in the first two games, particularly the Ones, coming off the ball and creating a new line of scrimmage," he said. "I think they've accepted the challenge and they've taken a lot of pride in that."Iupati, 31, is entering his ninth NFL season.The first five were with San Francisco Authentic Casey Hayward Jersey , where he was a first-round draft pick — the 17th selection overall — out of Idaho in 2010. He started 75 regular-season games and eight postseason contests for the 49ers before signing as a free agent with the Cardinals in 2015.He has said he wants to play in the league for 10 years and he's showing lately that he still can be an elite blocker.As usual, his reaction came in just a few words."I'm doing it for my family and my teammates," he said. "I'm just out there working to get better."Notes: General manager Steve Keim's five-week suspension by the team for a DUI arrest is up Tuesday. There was no word officially on whether he will be back. ... The Cardinals have Tuesday off, then practice each of the next three days. They play at Dallas on Sunday night.Chargers Announce Signing of 21 Undrafted Free Agents As of Saturday night, the Chargers announced the signing of 21 undrafted free agents. The UDFA haul includes players from major college programs to smaller schools that you may not have heard of until now.The UDFA class is highlighted by Alabama cornerback Tony Brown. Brown, also known as “Crazy Tony” by his former Tide teammates, is one of the fastest players in the entire 2018 class. He ran a blazing 4.35-second 40-yard dash at the combine and would instantly be the fastest player on the team. He played in all 14 games this past season while collecting 31 total tackles, two passes defended, and a single interception.Another name to keep an eye is former Minnesota defensive tackle Steven Richardson. At 6-feet tall and 292 pounds, Richardson may seem undersized but he was as disruptive as they come in the Big Ten. He finished his career as a Golden Gopher with 103 tackles, 28.5 for loss, 12.5 sacks to go along with five forced fumbles in 48 games.After not selecting a single offensive tackle during the draft, the Chargers picked up two tackles that each have four years of starting experience. The first is massive 6-foot-7, 310-pound Zach Crabtree of Oklahoma State who was paramount in keeping prolific quarterback Mason Rudolph on his feet. The second is Chris Durant out of William & Mary. The 6-foot-4, 310-pound tackle was a three-time Third-Team All-CAA who handled blindside responsibilities his entire career with the Tribe.Here is the complete list of the newest members of the Los Angeles Chargers:Tony Brown, CB, Alabama B.J Clay, CB, Georgia StateZachary Crabtree, OT, Oklahoma StateChris Durant, OT, William & MaryMarcus Edmond, CB, ClemsonBrandon Facyson, CB, Virginia TechZack Golditch, OG, Colorado StateBijhon Jackson, DT Womens Derwin James Jersey , ArkansasAlbert Havili, DE, Eastern WashingtonD’Juan Hines, LB, HoustonCole Hunt, TE, TCUTevin Lawson, DE, Nicolls StateBen Johnson, TE, KansasJ.J.
