NFL Network goes full “Heidi Game http://www.vikingsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-everson-griffen-jersey ,” Jaguars When the NFL Network announced earlier in the year that the Week 2 preseason contest between the Minnesota Vikings and the Jacksonville Jaguars would be featured on their channel, most people. . .including those well outside of the Twin Cities market like myself. . .assumed that it would be the entire game. Not so much. The Jaguars got a go-ahead touchdown from Brandon Wilds to take a 14-10 lead over the Vikings with less than two minutes remaining and the Vikings still holding all three of their time outs. Rather than sticking with the action at U.S. Bank Stadium, however, the NFL Network apparently thought it would be a much better idea to switch to the opening kickoff of the second game of their Saturday quadruple-header, as fans everywhere saw the beginning of the game between the Oakland Raiders and the Los Angeles Rams.It was a bit of a throwback to the “Heidi Game” from many years ago. In that 1968 contest between the Raiders and the New York Jets, NBC cut away from their game to the beginning of the movie Heidi Stefon Diggs Jersey , and missed the Raiders scoring two touchdowns in the final minute to turn a 32-29 Jets lead into a 43-32 Raiders victory. The Vikings ultimately ended up falling short on their final drive, but it still would have been nice to see it anyway.Again, as I said in an earlier post, it’s just a preseason game and ultimately doesn’t mean anything. Still, for the folks that live outside of the regular market for these games, it would have been appropriate for the NFL Network to show the game all the way to its conclusion. The game will be replayed on the NFL Network on Tuesday Authentic Kyle Rudolph Jersey , 21 August at 9:00 AM Central if anyone would like to watch the last couple of minutes after missing it the first time.Vikings’ Adam Thielen and his wife Caitlin start the Thielen Foundation Today Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen and his wife, Caitlin, announced that they would be starting the Thielen Foundation partnering with the University of Minnesota’s Masonic Children’s Hospital.Fox 9 reports that Adam and Caitlin have launched the foundation as a way to give back to the community. “That first visit when you come in here and you see the smiles on the kids’ faces and these kids that have such tough circumstances and yet you’re putting a smile on their face, having fun with them and talking to them, hanging out, so that’s really why we’re here today Youth Xavier Rhodes Jersey ,” said Adam. The Thielen Foundation will focus on pediatric behavioral health and will strive to help children overcoming various adversities and create a support system for children and their families who are dealing with mental health issues. Adam and Caitlin will make visits to the Pediatric Behavioral Health areas at the U of M children’s center to encourage patients to achieve their best potential and participate in hospital events and giveaways. They will also have Thielen Foundation “branded recreation and comfort items.” Those will consist of journals that patients will write in to “help facilitate their path towards recovery, wellness and reaching their full potential.” The Thielens will also be hosting different fundraisers and host various events to help raise money and help to create awareness for pediatric behavioral and mental health.

Everson Griffen update: When we last spoke about the ongoing situation with Minnesota Vikings’ defensive end Everson Griffen Authentic Kyle Rudolph Jersey , it was to bring you a report from Adam Schefter that said the team didn’t expect #97 to be back on the field any time soon.As you might expect with a situation like this, things change quite a bit. Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune was on hand for Mike Zimmer’s press conference on Thursday afternoon, and brings us the following pair of tweets:Krammer did confirm that Griffen’s return would not be this Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals at U.S. Bank Stadium. As we’ve stated in pretty much every story about the Griffen situation since we first got wind of it, obviously the most important thing is for Griffen to get himself in a good place mentally, and then worry about making a return to the football field. As much as we all want to see him out there Youth Xavier Rhodes Jersey , that has to be the first priority for him and the team. That said, I’m certain this won’t be the last update that we’ll have on Everson Griffen going forward. We don’t have any sources or anything like that within the organization, so we’re just sort of rolling with the reports we get from other sources on this one. But, if Mike Zimmer’s demeanor on Thursday is any indication, we might be getting closer to the return of Sack Daddy after all.Linval Joseph was motorin’ on Sunday We’ve talked quite a bit about the touchdown that Linval Joseph scored on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. In our defense http://www.vikingsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-adam-thielen-jersey , we’re only doing that because. . .well, it was awesome. It was the third-longest fumble return for a touchdown by a Minnesota Vikings’ defensive lineman, it gave the Vikings a lead over Philadelphia that they kept for the rest of the afternoon, and honestly, who doesn’t love a good big guy touchdown?Courtney Cronin of ESPN looked a little deeper into the touchdown Linval Joseph Jersey , and brought us this stat from the NFL Next Gen Stats folks:Joseph’s listed weight: 329 pounds (and I put about as much stock into that as when the Vikings used to list Pat Williams at 315)Maye’s listed weight: 207 poundsOf course, when you get that much mass moving in one direction, slowing it down becomes a bit of a chore.I’m relatively certain that Linval Joseph isn’t going to beat Marcus Maye in a straight-up footrace or anything, but he was certainly on par with him when the pads were on this past Sunday.Oh, and since it’s in your head now anyway:

Minnesota Vikings: Four bold predictions for the season

Finally http://www.authenticsminnesotavikings.com/cheap-rashod-hill-jersey , we can get to the good stuff. The regular-season kicks off Thursday and for Vikings fans, the season will begin Sunday. This is the time when people predict what will happen with teams and how a team will perform this season. I figured I’d jump in on this talk. However, I’m not making judgements based off of stats, but also my own heart felt opinion. These are considered bold predictions. or hot takes. Some may consider it overreacting, we won’t be able to tell until the season gets underway. 4. Kirk Cousins will throw for 5,000 yardsWell, this is a possibility. Cousins has thrown for over 4,000 yards in the last three seasons. His biggest year came in 2016 when he threw for 4,917 yards, only 83 yards short of cracking 5,000 yards. He’s capable of doing just that this season. The reason he can do that is because he is surrounded by weapons, no one can disagree. Adam Thielen, Stefon Diggs, Dalvin Cook and Kyle Rudolph, that’s only just a few. After the preseason and trading for Brett Jones, I think our offensive line will hold up and actually be solid protection for Cousins. With the backfield being as deep as it is, it won’t be a surprise to see more of a balanced offense this season, or depending on the defensive scheme that the opponent is working under. It may be hard to believe for Vikings fans, since no quarterback in Vikings history has thrown for, or over 5,000 yards. The quarterback that almost obtained 5,000 was Daunte Culpepper in 2004. He threw for 4 Youth Everson Griffen Jersey ,717 yards. Will Cousins be the first?3. Diggs, Thielen will both have 1,000 receiving yardsThis isn’t that bold of a prediction considering Thielen cracked 1,000 yards last season and Diggs had right around 850 yards. My logic behind this is that both receivers will perform similar to last season, however, Diggs will get a lot of deep shot looks this season that will boost his numbers. The reason the idea came up is because the Detroit Lions have two wideouts in Marvin Jones Jr. and Golden Tate, who both surpassed 1,000 receiving yards last season. Quarterback Matthew Stafford threw for over 4,400 yards last season. If I got Cousins throwing for 5,000, then I have Diggs and Thielen both cracking 1,000. 2.Vikings win 13 gamesY’all can book it now, the Vikings will go 13-3 come the end of the season. This is one bold prediction that I’m strongly confident in. Just to break it down, Minnesota gets off to a hot start. grabbing wins against the 49ers, Packers (at Lambeau) and the Bills.Week four and five will be a challenge for the Vikings as the team faces both the Los Angeles Rams and the Philadelphia Eagles on the road. Week four against the Rams is on a Thursday, so it will be a short week for preparation. I don’t think they get the job done against the Rams or the Eagles. Mike Zimmer and company will get right back on track though, while obtaining six straight wins during weeks six through twelve (bye is week 10) to streak to a 9-2 record. That’s when the Vikings arrive at Gillette Stadium in New England to face the Patriots. Minnesota takes the fall on the road in another tough contest. Three of the remaining four games will be played at U.S. Bank Stadium, bag three wins there on top of the one road game in Seattle that the Vikings will pick up. 1. Smith will grab 10 interceptions I know, I know, y’all are like, “Lucas, that’s crazy.” Well Youth Adam Thielen Jersey , I’m pretty crazy, so this fits perfect. It may be a lofty goal, but it’s sure obtainable. Last season Harrison Smith recorded five interceptions. Five is his career high, as he also reached five in his 2014 campaign. Book it now, but this will be Smith’s best year, yet. I’m even feeling a little frisky, so he’ll also take three of those interceptions to the house for six. Harrison Smith will be the best safety in the league this year. The one where we talk about the Eagles and Giants Good evening and Welcome Aboard!Standard Disclaimer:I’m not a fan of the NFL having games on Thursday which results in a short week for both teams and in my opinion increases the likelihood of injury. It’s one of the things I think the player’s union should negotiate to get rid of with the next CBA.In any case I’m going to keep doing these on Monday and Thursday night as long as my new job allows and/or if it’s a common opponent for the Vikings. You’re probably wondering about the common opponent angle as the Vikings have already played the Eagles.Former Vikings OC Pat Shurmer is the head coach for the Giants, I thought he did a pretty good job as the Vikings OC, so he gets a Thursday night post.I don’t know who I’ll be cheering for but I’d like to see an entertaining game and I’d like to see what Giant’s RB Saquon Barkley is able to put on the field.Stop by let’s make fun of the mistakes our potential future opponents make on the field and maybe be entertained. With that, let’s be neutral....just kidding, I don’t really care. Also, GIF’s are welcome in this game thread, however within the rules as usual.A few rules though, these will look oddly familiar.-No discussion of politics or religion-No feeding of the trolls-This isn’t a male version of The View, so leave the gender hatred at the door-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)-Speaking of which, if discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away-While navigating the Eagles-Giants thread, just assume it’s sarcasm

You can find me on Twitter @Garen504 and Alex at @AHarveyJr Send me any questions and lets talk some Saints!Which New Addition to the Saints Defense Will Have the Biggest Impact? The New Orleans Saints are continuing to re-build their defense to compliment their championship caliber offense to make the team into one of the NFC favorites for the Super Bowl. High draft choices have teamed up with mid or late round selections and a few smart free agent acquisitions to improve the Saints defense from a bottom ranked unit into an up and coming squad capable of shutting down most offenses they face. Today, we take a look at a few important offseason additions on the defensive side that are hoping to help transform the New Orleans defense into an elite NFL unit. Demario Davis, LBDerick E. Hingle-USA TODAY SportsDavis was arguably the biggest free agent acquisitions of the 2018 offseason for New Orleans. The 29-yr. old veteran comes over from the New York Jets as one of the league's most underrated linebackers. He has explosive sideline to sideline athleticism, is a strong run defender, an effective blitzer, and has solid pass coverage ability. He is able to play any linebacking spot in either a 4-3 or 3-4 alignment, as well as sub packages. Davis is expected to be an every down contributor for the Saints defense, and further upgrades a linebacker unit that has re-built itself over the last two seasons. His tenacity and versatility will help New Orleans match up more effectively with running backs and the athletic tight ends throughout the conference, and allow coordinator Dennis Allen even more flexibility with his defensive personnel. The Saints expect a return to health of Alex Anzalone and A.J. Klein, along with continued effectiveness from Craig Robertson and solid depth from Manti Te'o. The addition of Davis should give New Orleans it's best linebacking corps of the Sean Payton era, and perhaps give the Saints a Pro Bowl caliber performer on every level of it's improving defense. Kurt Coleman, SPhoto by Grant Halverson/Getty ImagesColeman enters his 9th year in the NFL, spending the last three with division rival Carolina before signing with the Saints as a free agent this spring. Over his career he has 21 interceptions, 2 sacks, and 4 fumbles forced. Coleman is not strong in man coverage, but is a capable read-and-react safety that can play solid run defense in the box as well. Vonn Bell and most certainly Marcus Williams will man the defense's top two safety spots http://www.thesaintsfootballauthentic.com/tyeler-davison-jersey-authentic , but New Orleans often runs multiple safety alignments. Coleman will likely compete with Chris Banjo and rookie 5th round pick Natrell Jamerson for snaps in those packages. He isn't as athletic as Kenny Vaccaro, who departed New Orleans as a free agent this offseason, but Coleman is a heady and experienced player who is always around the action to give himself the opportunity to make plays. Marcus Davenport, EDGEDerick E. Hingle-USA TODAY SportsThe Saints have high expectations for Davenport after trading up to the 14th spot in this year's draft to select him. Most considered Davenport to be the second best edge rusher in the draft, and the hope is that he will be an immediate contributor as a pass rusher. He brings an impressive combination of size, strength, and athleticism to a Saints defense still looking for a consistent pass rushing threat to compliment All-Pro end Cameron Jordan. Davenport will look to take snaps away from last year's starter, Alex Okafor, who finished second on the team with 4.5 sacks despite going down in the season's 10th game with an Achilles injury. Trey Hendrickson, a 2017 3rd round draft pick, Hau'oli Kikaha, a 2nd round pick in 2015, George Johnson, and Al-Quadin Muhammad could form a solid rotation at end behind Okafor, but New Orleans will need a standout performance from its top pick. Davenport may not be an immediate factor against the run, it may take some time for this small school star from UTSA to adapt to the NFL. Davenport's natural pass rushing skills, along with the ability of Cam Jordan to draw the attention of multiple blockers, could help the Saints prized rookie to an impactful rookie season. Patrick Robinson http://www.thesaintsfootballauthentic.com/terron-armstead-jersey-authentic , CBPhoto by Chris Graythen/Getty ImagesRobinson was drafted by the Saints with the 32nd overall pick of 2010 draft, and played for the team from 2010-14. He returned to New Orleans as a free agent this offseason after playing for 3 different teams in the last 3 years, including being an integral part of the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl championship last season. Robinson had 9 interceptions during his career with the Saints, including a team record 99-yd. return for a touchdown. According to Pro Football Focus, Robinson was one of the highest graded slot cornerbacks in the league a year ago. He led Philadelphia with 18 credited pass breakups and 4 interceptions, tying his career best. Robinson is expected to fill the number 3 cornerback role with the Saints, and could challenge Ken Crawley for the starting spot opposite Marshon Lattimore, last season's defensive rookie of the year.Robinson struggled at times during his previous stint with the Saints, but he will have to play at a high level to keep playing time with this group. Returning veterans P.J. Williams, Arthur Maulet, and Justin Hardee figure to be in the mix for playing time, and rookies Linden Stephens, Kamrin Moore, and Jamerson, who can play either corner or safety, will make the cornerback position one of the most fierce battles of Saints training camp.

The 39-year-old quarterback also had two rushing touchdowns, which included one of the funniest and craziest spin moves I’ve ever seen by a quarterback.Michael Thomas - 75 (95%)Thomas made more NFL history on Sunday, breaking an old receiving record previously held by Julio Jones for most catches through the first three games of the season. His stat line of 10 receptions for 129 yards on 10 targets was simply spectacular New Orleans Saints Womens T-Shirt , as Thomas leads the NFC and NFL in receiving yardage and receptions.Alvin Kamara - 67 (85%)Kamara had a really busy day with 31 total touches. He had 16 rushes for 66 yards, which was just over 4 yards/carry (long of 17), but it was his receiving that made all the difference in the world for the Saints offense. Kamara was targeted a whopping 20 times by Brees, finishing with 15 receptions for 124 yards. He’s third in receptions and sixth in yards right now.Ted Ginn Jr. - 52 (66%)Outside of the first drive, Ginn was pretty quiet on the day. He finished with 3 catches for 12 yards and a score on 6 targets, and added a 20-yard run on a jet sweep (or Ginn-da-round as I like to call it).Josh Hill - 49 (62%)Hill wasn’t much of a factor on the stat sheet outside of his lone catch and target for 17 yards, but it was still a great play for him on the tight end screen that looked to go for a loss or minimal gain.Benjamin Watson - 45 (57%)Watson also proved that age is only a number on Sunday, finishing with 71 yards on 5 catches (6 targets). Sean Payton challenged his tight ends after last week’s game, and it looks like Watson heard the call loud and clear.Cameron Meredith - 34 (43%)Meredith had just one catch and one target in the game, but it was a big one. The 11-yard touchdown from Brees helped the Saints take a late third quarter lead. Once Meredith really gets going, it could be even more interesting for the New Orleans offense.Tre’Quan Smith - 26 (33%)Smith didn’t register any catches or runs on the stat sheet. On a day that saw the Saints go for 534 yards on offense, him not being involved is a really scary thought.Austin Carr - 13 (16%)Carr had two targets on Sunday, finishing with 1 catch for 25 yards. It arguably might have been the best throw from Brees on the day, as Carr hauled in a great catch.Zach Line - 12 (15%)2 catches for 6 yards for the fullback isn’t eye-popping at all, but the decision to go with him on the 4th and Goal to get a touchdown was a gutsy call by Payton, and it paid off.Jonathan Williams - 9 (11%)The preseason camp champ had a single carry for a single yard, and had a single reception for a single yard. Mark Ingram returns soon New Orleans Saints Hats , and it’s needed for the ground game.Taysom Hill - 5 (6%)3 rushes for 39 yards to go along with 3 kick returns for 64 yards (21.3 average). The Saints used Hill at tight end too to block. This guy is becoming a legend before our eyes.Mike Gillislee, Jermon Bushrod - 4 (5%)DefenseA.J. Klein, Marcus Williams, Marshon Lattimore, Demario Davis - 68 (100%)Klein had an encore performance from last week’s win over the Browns, which is a good thing. Klein finished with just 3 combined tackles, but did have tackle for loss, quarterback hit, and pass defense in addition to his key plate late in the game where he blitzed Matt Ryan to force an incompletion. Davis led all tacklers with 8 combined (5 solo), and also had a QB hit.Cameron Jordan - 62 (91%)Jordan had a pretty strong day, finishing with 2.0 sacks, 5 combined tackles, 2 quarterback hits, 2 tackles for loss, and a pass defense. Jordan said he could have and should have had more sacks.Vonn Bell - 54 (79%)Bell tied with four others (Jordan, M. Williams, P.J. Williams) for second-highest on the team in tackles with 5 combined.Sheldon Rankins - 52 (76%)3 tackles for Rankins on the day New Orleans Saints Womens Hoodie , and 2 of them were for a loss.P.J. Williams - 50 (74%)No Saints defender had a worse outing than Williams, who was victimized by Calvin Ridley after getting the start over Ken Crawley. He ended up getting pulled, and came back in working the slot after Patrick Robinson went down. New Orleans has a lot of questions in their secondary.Alex Okafor - 44 (65%)Okafor’s blocked punt was a critical moment in the game, but aside that, just a single tackle.Ken Crawley - 42 (62%)Crawley took a real bad penalty on Calvin Ridley with safety help over the top from Williams. Let’s hope he returns to form soon.David Onyemata - 41 (60%)Onyemata took a really bad special teams penalty after messing with the center on a field goal try that directly led to the Falcons putting a touchdown on the board. Perhaps it’s growing pains, but either way the Saints had a really undisciplined outing.Marcus Davenport - 34 (50%)The first-round pick nabbed his first sack of his career, and it probably couldn’t have come against a better opponent. Davenport had 2 quarterback hits and a tackle for loss. It looked like Atlanta was double-teaming him most of the game.Taylor Stallworth - 27 (40%)Patrick Robinson - 23 (34%)According to early reports, it’s a high ankle sprain for Robinson. Of course, we’ll know more eventually, but at this point we have to count him out for several weeks.Kurt Coleman - 22 (32%)Alex Anzalone - 13 (19%)Jay Bromley - 12 (18%)Special Teams (Top Reps)Taysom Hill, Craig Robertson - 29Chris Banjo, Vince Biegel, Justin Hardee, J.T. Gray - 25

We all know that Minnesota Vikings Stefon

Vikings Stefon Diggs buys $15 Youth Linval Joseph Jersey ,000 Starbucks diamond chain Diggs is obsessed with Starbucks. He often talks his love of the Seattle based coffee chain on his various social media accounts. But this takes his love to a whole new level.TMZ sports reports that Diggs contacted Al the Jeweler from Labelle Jewelry in New Jersey to create this insane 1,000 emeralds and VS diamonds. By the way— VS diamonds are of the highest grade clarity for diamonds, and it took about a month to finish. It was told that Diggs wanted the chain because of his loves for Starbucks, but he also got the chain because, “like Starbucks, he’s open all day.”And before everyone jumps on the he’s wasting his money train, this is small percentage of what Diggs is making under his new contract or the old one for that matter. And let’s be honest, if any one of us were making that kind of money there would absolutely be one, two, or more crazy purchases. It is damn good to be Diggs.Vikings vs. Seahawks Preseason 2018: Five Game-Changing Plays The Minnesota Vikings won the All-Important Third Preseason Game庐 by narrowly dispatching the Seattle Seahawks 21-20 on Friday night. Kirk Cousins threw for 182 yards in one half of action, Dalvin Cook played for the first time in over ten months, and the defense had plenty of impressive performances throughout the night. All is well heading into the 2018 regular season! We’ll see you in February in Atlanta!Sorry, forgot to use my sarcasm font there. While there were plenty of bright spots to celebrate for the Vikings Youth Anthony Barr Jersey , there are still major concerns looming less than two weeks before the season opener against the 49ers. The piecemeal offensive line is still struggling to find the best five-man combination, including trading with the New York Giants for Brett Jones on Sunday. The kicking game is already conjuring up the specters of Gary Anderson and Blair Walsh. The punt coverage team can’t stop allowing huge returns (even if some of them get called back). Valhalla is not Utopia just yet.Let’s go through some of the ups and downs from Friday night with our weekly review of the five most impactful plays of the game.Play 1: Vikings ball, 1st & 10 at the Seattle 37. First quarter, 1:43 remaining. (Shotgun) K.Cousins pass deep right to S.Diggs pushed ob at SEA 10 for 27 yards (SL.Griffin).On the previous drive, Cousins threw to Stefon Diggs deep down the right side as he was being covered by Shaquill Griffin. The ball was a bit under-thrown, Griffin was in excellent defensive position, and the ball fell incomplete. The Vikings were forced to settle for a field goal attempt. (More on that “attempt” stuff later.) This time around, the ball was placed behind Diggs on purpose as a back shoulder throw down the right sideline. What Diggs did to Griffin on this play is almost unfair. In case you weren’t sufficiently impressed the first time around, look at the isolated replay:That is just filthy. Diggs certainly appears to be Cousins’ favorite target since the quarterback arrived in Minnesota. If things break right, these two could have a special season together.Play 2: Seahawks ball, 1st & 10 at the Minnesota 23. Second quarter, 9:06 remaining. (9:06) M.Davis left end to MIN 26 for -3 yards (D.Hunter).Speaking of someone that may be poised to have a special season, I present Danielle Hunter.Duane Brown might be the only redeemable member of the Seahawks offensive line. Hunter simply discarded him and coasted to an easy tackle for loss. The 23-year-old defensive end has been making splash plays throughout the preseason. If Hunter can keep blowing up plays in the backfield like this White Dalvin Cook Jersey , that new contract of his is going to look like larceny in a couple years.Play 3a: Vikings ball, 2nd & 7 at the Minnesota 46. Second quarter, 1:02 remaining. (Shotgun) K.Cousins pass incomplete deep right to A.Thielen.Play 3b: Vikings ball, 3rd & 7 at the Minnesota 46. Second quarter, 0:57 remaining. (Shotgun) K.Cousins pass short right to L.Treadwell ran ob at SEA 27 for 27 yards (M.Alexander).I’m cheating a bit with this one by showing two back-to-back plays that help illustrate the up-and-down nature of Friday’s game. First, Cousins badly misses Adam Thielen during the two-minute drill.Thielen caught his first four passes of the preseason for 26 yards on Friday, but this missed opportunity was indicative of how Thielen and Cousins don’t seem to be completely simpatico yet. (You can throw Kyle Rudolph into that mix as well.) It also illustrates how the Vikings offense has had its struggles in these situations throughout camp. The next play was much more encouraging.Laquon Treadwell had three catches for 44 yards to compliment his breakout performance at Training Camp. This might sound blasphemous, but it appears that Cousins currently has a better rapport with Treadwell than Thielen or Rudolph. Does that mean Treadwell will end up with better numbers than the other two? I seriously doubt it. But Cousins does have a propensity to spread the ball around and Treadwell has been stepping up when called upon this year. Perhaps the former first round pick will finally start living up to some of the expectations.Play 4: Vikings ball, 4th & 7 at the Seattle 24. Second quarter, 0:31 remaining. D.Carlson 42 yard field goal is No Good, Wide Left, Center-K.McDermott, Holder-R.Quigley.Daniel Carlson handled his first game as the only kicker on the Vikings roster about as well as Kevin Malone handled bringing in his famous chili in The Office. After pulling his first field goal attempt from 42 yards wide left earlier in the game White Ben Gedeon Jersey , Carlson put on an encore performance right before halftime. This is NOT how to ingratiate yourself to a fan base that has endured enough soul-crushing missed kicks for 100 lifetimes. Please, Daniel, don’t do this to us when the games actually count.Play 5: Vikings ball, 4th & 15 at the Seattle 25. Fourth quarter, 0:54 remaining. (Shotgun) K.Sloter pass deep left to C.Beebe for 25 yards, TOUCHDOWN.As if we could finish with any play other than this one.Sure, it didn’t really mean anything. But scoring the game-winning touchdown (thanks to the ensuing 2-point conversion by Jake Wieneke) on 4th & long in the final minute of an NFL football game is awesome no matter what the stakes are. Kyle Sloter is still behind Trevor Siemian on the quarterback depth chart according to Mike Zimmer. There was no doubt that Sloter was the better quarterback on Friday. Moments after getting walloped by Erik Walden the play before, Sloter bought time with his legs and found Chad Beebe for a finish that was about as exciting as you can get in the preseason.Beebe has had an amazing preseason as well. With players like Kendall Wright, Cayleb Jones, Tavarres King, and Brandon Zylstra being largely anonymous for most of the past few weeks, Beebe just might have a chance to sneak onto the roster. So which play was the biggest of the game in your mind? Vote in the poll below and add any suggestions that we didn’t cover today in the comments.

Notes From Minnesota Vikings Training Camp: 8/13

Practice Today was the first training camp day back after the first pre-season game against the Denver Broncos. While the 42-28 win was exciting http://www.authenticsminnesotavikings.com/cheap-matt-wile-jersey , it was back to work as usual for the Vikings. Here are a few notes from today’s practice. Grid View Stefon Diggs and Everson Griffen did not participate in practice today. Diggs helped with the wide receiver drills but did eventually leave. Griffen was not out on the field at all today but hopefully he will be back and dressed for tomorrow. While Linval Joseph and Anthony Barr were not active for Saturday’s game, they did practice in full today. Mike Remmers did return today but was only doing individual drills. The Vikings are playing things cautious with him, as he is returning from an ankle injury. Stacy Coley was injured and did not return to practice after making an impressive jump for the ball on a catch. Unfortunately, he stayed on the ground and needed a cart to help him out. As of now, there is no word on his condition. But the biggest injury news, that luckily turned out to be a false alarm, was Rashod Hill. When he rolled his ankle, initially it didn’t look good. A cart was brought out and he was taken in to be looked at. But, less than five minutes later White Tom Compton Jersey , he walked back out to the field on his own. He did finish the drills and told reporters after that his ankle was “feeling fine.”Kaleb Johnson took the field today wearing number 66 and took reps with the second and third teams. Johnson is replacing Nick Easton, who is now on injured reserve.Kirk Cousins continues to look good coming off the first preseason game. He had a great pass to Latavius Murray and Murray was able to find a sizable hole and go for a big gain. Cousins had a few deep throws that looked sharp as well. One was to Adam Thielen while Cousins was under some pretty good pressure, and Thielen was able to catch it and stay in bounds. He also threw one to Dalvin Cook, who was able to catch the ball but was eventually stopped. Speaking of Cook, he looked great today and was able to burst through the defense line on a few plays.David Morgan named by Pro Football Focus as “Secret Superstar” When you run down the list of weapons in the Minnesota Vikings’ offense, it generally takes you a while before you get to tight end David Morgan. In his two seasons with the team he’s had just 11 receptions (ten of which game this past season) and has found the end zone just once. However, it appears that he could be getting the reputation of being an vastly underrated player.Pro Football Focus has put together a list of “Secret Superstars” from offenses across the National Football League, and Morgan makes the list for what he’s done for the Vikings over the past two years.Delanie Walker is a heck of a guy to be compared to as a tight end. As the PFF piece says, Walker began his career with the 49ers White Trae Waynes Jersey , and actually played seven seasons there, remaining relatively anonymous. He signed with the Tennessee Titans before the start of the 2013 season, and has had over 800 yards receiving in each of the last four seasons (including a 1,088 yard season in 2015) and has had over 100 targets in all of those seasons. Of course, he just turned 34 years old, so he’s closer to the end of his career to the beginning. Hopefully Morgan won’t have to wait quite that long to see his production increase dramatically. With as stacked as the Vikings are on offense, Morgan is likely going to be one of those guys that gets lost in the shuffle and will get a larger opportunity somewhere else, as the PFF article suggests. Or, at some point Youth Harrison Smith Jersey , he may end up being Rudolph’s successor and move up the ladder to the #1 tight end spot, no doubt mentoring the next David Morgan as the #2 tight end.We say this sort of thing whenever we talk about underrated players like this, but every team needs a bunch of David Morgans to be successful. Sure, it’s nice to have a bevy of superstars like the Vikings have, but on a roster of 53 players, you need guys that aren’t big names to contribute as well. Here’s hoping that Morgan can continue being a strong contributor to this Vikings’ roster.

What You Missed: Week 3 It was a weird week in the NFL.

The Vikings got blown out by the Bills White Laquon Treadwell Jersey , yes. But the week started with the Browns getting their first win in almost two years. The Jaguars, fresh off a win over the Patriots, lost to the Titans, despite the fact that Marcus Mariota was nowhere near 100 percent and didn’t even start the game. The Patriots lost to the Lions and looked awful. Then on Monday night, Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for over 400 yards...in a loss. What?Oh, and the Browns have a better record than the Patriots. So maybe the Vikings just got caught in a storm of Week 3 NFL-weirdness. That’s a better explanation for the game on Sunday than anything else I’ve seen, to be honest. Anyways, let’s look around the league. In the North...Matt Patricia got his first win as Lions head coach with the aforementioned victory over the Patriots. Again, people are trying to crank up the panic meter in Foxborough, but the Patriots have started seasons like this before and still won the Super Bowl. I’m not sure what to make of this win for the Lions, though. They started the season with a horrible loss and another pretty bad one, so this is obviously encouraging progress. It remains to be seen if they’ll be able to compete in this division. The Bears were absolutely gifted a game by Sam Bradford and the Cardinals, who blew a 14-point lead at home. Don’t look now http://www.authenticsminnesotavikings.com/cheap-xavier-rhodes-jersey , but Chicago actually leads the NFC North at 2-1, with the Vikings and Packers a half game back at 1-1-1. They have some issues to iron out, and I’m still iffy on Mitch Trubisky. But they’re at the top for now.Hey, at least the Packers lost! All anyone wants to talk about from this game is the roughing the passer penalty on Clay Matthews, who’s now been flagged for that in every game this season, including a huge one against the Vikings last week. But the Packers look like they’re in trouble, especially considering the state of Aaron Rodgers’ knee. They take on the Bills next week, which will be interesting.NFC contender watchFor at least this week, this section is gonna have to start with the Rams. They looked dominant once again, this time in an impressive win over the Chargers in the battle for LA. They’ve looked invincible over three weeks, but I don’t think they’ve faced off against a real defense yet. So Thursday will be a huge, huge game. Carson Wentz returned and looked pretty good, getting the Eagles to 2-1. Drew Brees was spectacular for the Saints http://www.authenticsminnesotavikings.com/cheap-matt-wile-jersey , who also moved to 2-1 with an overtime victory over the Falcons. At this point I’m not ready to call anyone else a contender, but hey, prove me wrong, Ryan Fitzpatrick.Ex-Vikings quarterback reportThis is gonna have to be renamed the Case Keenum report unless Teddy Bridgewater gets into a game. As I indicated last week, Sam Bradford was on thin ice going into Week 3. And he fell right through, turning the ball over three times. He was pulled in favor of rookie Josh Rosen in the fourth quarter (sidenote: why would you put your rookie quarterback in for the first time when he’s losing late in the fourth quarter?) who then threw an interception to seal Arizona’s fate. Coach Steve Wilks named Rosen the starter going forward. Bradford is still making $20 million this year, though.Meanwhile, Case Keenum suffered his first loss as Denver’s starter. And it was a rough one — he threw for 192 yards and an interception while finishing with a QB rating of 29.3. It led to a 27-14 loss to the Ravens, which left both teams at 2-1. Keenum hasn’t been great statistically, but he’s done enough to help his team win so far this season. Next up will be a Monday night game against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. That’s it for WYM. See you next week.Minnesota Vikings Injury Report: Marcus Sherels OUT, four others questionable Prior to their game on Thursday night against the Los Angeles Rams, the Minnesota Vikings have only declared one player as out of action (not counting defensive end Everson Griffen, whose situation has already been well-documented) White Tom Compton Jersey , but they have plenty of other questions.Cornerback and punt returner Marcus Sherels will miss his second straight game with a rib injury, as the team has already declared him as “Out” for Thursday’s game. Mike Hughes will once again handle punt return duties in Sherels’ absence. The two biggest names on the list for the Vikings are running back Dalvin Cook and left tackle Riley Reiff, both of whom the Vikings have listed as “questionable” for tomorrow night. Cook missed the game against Buffalo with his hamstring issue, and was limited in practice on both Tuesday and Wednesday. Reiff, on the other hand, has not practiced all week with a foot issue, and for much of the Mike Zimmer regime the rule has been that if you don’t get into the last practice before a game, you don’t play. If Reiff has to sit out, we’re going to have to see how the Vikings will configure an offensive line that’s already had its issues. Also listed as “questionable” on the injury report for the Vikings are defensive tackle Tom Johnson (ankle) and safety Anthony Harris (hamstring). Harris was limited all week, while Johnson was added to the injury report on Tuesday and has been limited as well. The full Vikings’ injury report for Thursday night is below. We’ll have the Rams’ injury report here shortly.Minnesota Vikings injury report vs Los Angeles RamsPlayerPositionInjuryMonday*TuesdayWednesdayThursday StatusPlayerPositionInjuryMonday*TuesdayWednesdayThursday Status* - The Vikings did not actually practice on Monday, but this is what the Vikings estimate the injury report would have looked like if they had.

Week 6 Patriots vs Chiefs Thursday injury report:

Chris Hogan misses practice The New England Patriots returned to the practice fields today to hold a walkthrough session leading up to their highly anticipated prime time matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. And while attendance was again good Youth Ja'Whaun Bentley Jersey , it was – as opposed to yesterday – not perfect as a look at the latest injury report shows:Did not participateAfter being limited during yesterday’s session and being spotted in the locker room walking with a limp, wideout Chris Hogan was held out of today’s practice. The veteran, who has had an up-and-down season so far but was projected to benefit from Julian Edelman’s return to the lineup, is one of New England’s top options at the position and a trusted weapon for quarterback Tom Brady.Four of the Chiefs’ top defenders remain out, meanwhile, which further hurts their chances of actually playing on Sunday. With the Patriots offense finding its groove recently, this could be a devastating situation for a defense that has not always been up to the challenge through its first five games.Limited participationWith the exception of Chris Hogan being downgraded, the list of limited participants remained the same as yesterday for New England. On a list of notable names, one stands out: Sony Michel, who dealt with a knee injury all summer long Youth Tom Brady Jersey , remains limited. With the Patriots’ running back group not being as deep as it ideally would be, Michel’s injury situation is one worth keeping a close eye on from the team’s perspective.Chiefs wideout De’Anthony Thomas, meanwhile, is a new addition to the list. Thomas is a depth player on offense but an important piece of Kansas City’s special teams units.Full participationSpencer Ware was back on the practice field for the Chiefs today and just like his teammates listed as full participants will be good to go on Sunday.Patriots should at least take a look at recently released Bengals safety George Iloka With roster cutdowns still 13 days away, the Cincinnati Bengals already made a surprising move: the team decided to release starting safety George Iloka yesterday, effectively clearing the way for second-round rookie Jessie Bates to take over. Iloka, who spent his entire six-year career with the Bengals, now hits the open market and is projected to be a popular player two weeks into preseason. One of the teams that should at least take a look at the 28-year old are the New England Patriots – even though the squad appears to be relatively set at the safety spot right now. After all, the Patriots have one of the NFL’s better safety trios at their disposal in Devin McCourty, Patrick Chung http://www.thepatriotsfootballauthentic.com/shaq-mason-jersey-authentic , and Duron Harmon. All three come with plenty of experience and proven qualities against the pass and the run. They clearly do not need to be upgraded, but the depth behind them is suspect: Jordan Richards has been wildly inconsistent when used as a defender, while Eddie Pleasant is no guarantee to win a roster spot. Nate Ebner and de-facto linebacker Brandon King are primarily special teamers; Damarius Travis has failed to show any real progress during his second offseason in the NFL.At least when it comes to defensive contributions, Iloka should be an upgrade over any of them. The former fifth-round draft pick also brings plenty of versatility and experience to the table: Iloka was used all over the formation in Cincinnati, and even though he spent around 60% of his snaps as a deep center fielder – like McCourty and Harmon –, he also is no stranger to lining up closer to the box in a more traditional strong safety role. From the Patriots’ perspective, Iloka would therefore be an intriguing player to possibly add at this point during preseason preparations. However, chances are that they will not be able to do that: Iloka will draw plenty of interest by teams that are not set at the top of their safety position. Furthermore, there are plenty of franchises that have more salary cap available than New England’s $8.6 million. So why should the Patriots still take a look at Iloka, even if the odds of him actually joining the team appear to be slim? One word: knowledge. Bringing the veteran in for a workout should help the team update its file on him Womens Cordarrelle Patterson Jersey , in case it a) opts to pursue Iloka at a later point in time (possibly next year’s free agency), or b) has to face him this season. The opportunity to expand the knowledge about the defensive back is one the Patriots should take advantage of if it presented itself. And, who knows, maybe Iloka stays on the open market longer than anticipated – not unlike cornerback Bashaud Breeland, who visited Foxboro two weeks ago – and could turn into a possible emergency call-up option. The more Bill Belichick and company know about him, the better they can judge him in case they crossed paths even if him filling the final roster spot on the 90-man team should not be in the cards at the moment.

The Patriots pass rush appears to be much improved

Let’s just get this out of the way before the BAMA AIN’T PLAYED NOBODY crowd jumps in:Here is the current offensive line of the Houston Texans.Martinas Rankin (OT)*Juli茅n Davenport (OT)Nick Martin (C)Zach Fulton (G)Senio Kelemete (G)*replaced right tackle Sentreal Henderson in the second quarter after Henderson suffered a broken ankle and they shuffled some tackles around so eventually two tackles were playing tackle. Whatever. Some teams are into that.I swear that those are all real www.patriotsauthorizedshop.com , live NFL offensive linemen and none of those names are from the Key and Peele college football sketches. That being said, if you were finally catching your second wind (or first wind, for that matter) after staying out too late on Saturday night right around game time on Sunday, you may have thought to yourself at one point or another during the game when Texans QB Deshaun Watson was having an “Oh, FML” moment as he got swarmed by blue jerseys, “Man, it looks like the Patriots are getting pressure, like, every other time he goes back to pass!”Your day drinking self would be correct!Pass rush pressure, you say? It’s so...beautiful!Seeing that kind of pressure again as a Patriots fan must be what those people doing Whole 30 or whatever feel like when it’s finally over and someone puts a half pound burger and a plate full of fries in front of you. It’s just the way life was meant to be lived. Now, as our fearless leader Rich Hill pointed out yesterday, the run defense is...well, so far...not great. Part of that is the D-line personnel that the Patriots were putting on the field expecting the Texans to abandon the run after going down 18 points, and then the Texans kept pounding the rock for 7 of 10 snaps against a smaller New England line, so, all strategery aside New England Patriots Womens T-Shirt , that’s going to happen when teams keep pounding the rock without more Pats run-stuffers in the game. Now that that’s out of the way, let’s talk about the pass rush some more! What should make this a big F’ing deal for a Patriots pass rush that couldn’t buy a sack if they had an American Express Black Card in the Super Bowl is that it’s not like they were just beating up on one overmatched offensive lineman, like *some* people criticized Adrian Clayborn for in his six-sack game against Dallas last season. The Patriots were bringing the rush from all areas of the field and against all those Texans offensive linemen we mentioned earlier.(Side note re: Adrian Clayborn’s sack totals from last season being “inflated” because of that one Dallas game: beating up on bad offensive linemen is what you’re SUPPOSED to do)Check out where the heat was coming from, courtesy of CLNS’s Evan Lazar’s advanced stats:Trey Flowers: 7 total pressures - 4 hurries, 1 QB hit, 2 sacksDeatrich Wise: 4 total pressures - 2 hurries, 2 sacksKeionta Davis: 3 total pressures - 2 hurries, 1 QB hitAdrian Clayborn: 3 total pressures - 3 hurriesKyle Van Noy: 3 total pressures - 3 hurriesMalcom Brown - 3 total pressures - 2 hurries, 1 QB hitLawrence Guy - 2 total pressures - 1 hurry, 1 QB hitDanny Shelton, Dont’a Hightower, and Pat Chung also all chipped in with one quarterback pressure apiece. Not too bad for a defense that normally gets shredded at least once before most people are thinking about their Halloween costume!Everyone on defense joining the pressure party is one way to look at it, anyway. The optimist in every Pats fan will see that and say that at least most of the guys here can bring the heat in the right situations; since nobody in New England is an optimist for more than 5 minutes, though, the flipside is that outside of Trey Flowers, nobody really dominated their matchups here New England Patriots Hats , at least not in a Khalil Mack playing tether-ball with the Packers kind of way.And that’s OK! After the Patriots did their usual “Is that your mock draft? That’s cute” and didn’t take a defensive player with either of their two first-round picks, or their second-round pick, and actually didn’t take a D-tackle or defensive end in the draft at all, saying this defensive line wasn’t scaring anybody over the summer would’ve been an understatement. Sure, there were some good flashes in the preseason, like Keionta Davis’s patience finally paying off with his first NFL sack, but that’s preseason, right? Wait till the real football starts, right? So far, real football is a whole lot more fun when your defense is the ones DOING the barbecuing and not getting barbeCUED by Alex Smith in week 1.Especially when Deatrich Wise is just making up his sack celebrations like going bowling as he goes along. Imagine what will be coming out of this man’s imagination after the bye week.New England Patriots 2018 roster breakdown: #76 OT Isaiah Wynn The New England Patriots currently have 89 players on their active roster. However, only 53 of them will be able to survive the cutdowns on September 1 and ultimately make the team. Over the course of the offseason, we take a look at the players fighting for those spots to find out who has the best chances of helping the Patriots recapture the Vince Lombardi Trophy.Today, the series continues with one of New England’s two first-round rookies.Name: Isaiah WynnPosition: Offensive tackle / GuardJersey number: 76Opening day age: 21Experience: RookieSize: 6’2, 310 lbs.2017 review: Despite successfully serving as Georgia’s starting left guard in 2016, the team decided to move Isaiah Wynn to left tackle prior to the 2017 season. And just like he did on the interior, he also dominated on the outside: starting all 15 games New England Patriots Womens Hoodie , Wynn was named first team All-SEC and second team All-American after allowing just five quarterback pressures and no sacks and also being one of the best run blockers in all of college football. The senior lineman, who served as a permanent team captain, dominated against some of the best teams in the nation and was a key member of the Bulldogs’ usually productive offense. Wynn was able to do that by playing with excellent, pro ready technique in both run blocking and pass protection. Despite his height-deficiencies, he was therefore able to consistently win at the point of attack and move defenders out of the way.Wynn, an impressive player in space with outstanding moving abilities, was a standout despite playing through a shoulder injury. After undergoing surgery following the season, he was forced to essentially sit out the scouting combine. Nevertheless, he still entered draft season as a projected first-round selection – which is exactly what he became when the Patriots chose him with the 23rd overall pick.2018 preview: Wynn’s rookie campaign was off to a good start: after he was forced to sit out OTAs, he saw plenty of reps in training camp and eventually became a realistic candidate to start the year as the number three offensive tackle. Competing primarily against LaAdrian Waddle for the top backup spot at right tackle, Wynn rotated in and out of the lineup during practice and later his lone preseason performance. However, the 21-year old played only nine snaps in the game before it came to a bitter end – as did his first season in the NFL: Wynn tore his Achilles tendon late in the first quarter against the Philadelphia Eagles and will likely be placed on the season-ending injured reserve list soon. He will therefore spend the 2018 season rehabbing and trying to get ready for next year; a year in which he might play a considerable role along the offensive line.

Week 6 Patriots vs Chiefs advanced stats:

New England could be in for a shootout against Kansas City On Sunday Authentic Trey Flowers Jersey , two of the best teams in football will go at each other in a highly anticipated prime time matchup: the 3-2 New England Patriots will host the 5-0 Kansas City Chiefs in a game that will have major implications on the AFC and could shape the playoff picture further down the line. A Chiefs victory would cement the squad as the front runner for the conference’s number one seed, a Patriots win would give the team an advantage over one of its rivals. But before looking too far ahead, let’s analyze the game ahead and some of the advanced stats heading into it (courtesy of SB Nation’s Bill Connelly; for his methodology please click here).Patriots offense vs Chiefs defenseNormal down and distance in the open fieldThe Patriots improved their standard down success rate and first down percentages noticeably when compared to last week. Going against a Chiefs defense that gives up 56.2% of needed yardage on the average given down, the team should therefore also be able to move the football well. Furthermore, it might even be able to improve its big play percentage against a unit that has had some issues stopping big plays from happening. But while Kansas City struggles some in the open field – between its own 30 and the opposing 10 – the team is very good on third down.Backed Up Situations Near the Goal LineNew England’s success rate while being backed up inside its own 10-yard line took a hit against the Indianapolis Colts but the team has had some success in this area before last Thursday. Meanwhile, an interception in week one still hurts the turnover rate. The Chiefs, on the other hand, have also not been world beaters when having their opponent pinned deep in its own territory – mostly because a team that rarely punts, does not get a lot of opportunities to improve in this area.Red ZoneThe Patriots offense continues to improve in the red area (inside an opponent’s 30-yard line), especially when it comes to the success rate inside the 10: New England improved from 41.7% a week ago to 57.1%. The team’s week six opponent, on the other hand, has been mostly mediocre in the red zone. One statistic stands out, though: turnover rate. Kansas City’s defense has been able to produce takeaways on 9.5% of plays inside its own 10-yard line. In a game that could very well turn into a shootout, limiting mistakes in this part of the field is crucial for Tom Brady and the Patriots.Third DownsDuring yesterday’s press conference Womens Joe Thuney Jersey , Patriots head coach Bill Belichick pointed out that the Chiefs defense has had success in third down situations. The team has indeed been successful in some third downs, especially when it comes to stopping third-and-longs as well as third-and-shorts. The latter could pose a problem for a New England squad that has had its problems with converting on third and less than a yard.Blitz SituationsTeams that play from ahead usually find themselves in more defensive passing situations. The Chiefs are undoubtably one of those teams, and one that has fared well in such situations. When it blitz downs – obvious passing downs specified as first-and-18 or more, second-and-14 or more, and third-and-3 or more – the team has limited opponents’ success this year. The Patriots, meanwhile, have had similar success. Again, it can be seen that both New England’s offense and Kansas City’s defense have had issues when it comes to big plays.Patriots defense vs Chiefs offenseNormal down and distance in the open fieldThe Patriots defense continues to improve in the open field but it will face its biggest challenge yet. Kansas City continuously moves the football well on any given down between its own 10 and the opponents’ 30, earning a 52.6% success rating – one of the best in the NFL. New England has been inconsistent in this area but has had success in others, especially one that is a strength of the Chiefs: big plays (plays that gain more than 20 yards). This will be a matchup of strength versus strength.Backed Up Situations Near the Goal LineNew England’s defense and Kansas City’s offense also match up rather evenly when it comes to backed-up situations: both teams have had some success in this area of the field – inside the offense’s own 10-yard line – which could make for an interesting battles if situations like this come along.Red ZoneWhile the Patriots remain an inconsistent defensive team in the red zone, the Chiefs field arguably the best red area offense in all of football. With the exception of the area between the 21 and 30, Patrick Mahomes and company have had plenty of success no matter the situation. Not only has the team been able to move the football well, it also has limited its mistakes and not turned the football over deep in opponents’ territory. Safe to say that execution in this part of the field will be a key for New England on Sunday.Third DownsDespite fielding the NFL’s most prolific offense, the Chiefs actually find themselves in third-and-longs rather often: on 61.0% of their 53 third down attempts the team has had to gain more than seven yards. As can be seen in the graphic above Womens Malcom Brown Jersey , though, distance has hardly ever been a problem for Kansas City as the team still has a 30.6% conversion rate in situations like this. New England’s defense, on the other hand, has had its fare share of problems when faced with third downs. The team ranks just 26th in the league, failing to get off the field on 44.6% of third downs.Blitz SituationsIn case you haven’t heard it it yet: the Chiefs’ passing offense is pretty good. Even when the team is likely to throw the football while playing from behind the sticks, it hardly ever can be stopped. Headed by weapons like Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, and Sammy Watkins, Kansas City is able to consistently generate yardage in long-distance downs. Once the Patriots defense gets its opponents in usually favorable situations like this one, it needs to find a way to limit big plays to sustain drives – and again hold on third down.If the advanced statistics are an indication, the Patriots and Chiefs are in for an offensive battle. For the home team, the game could very much come down to execution in some key areas:Can the Patriots defense get off the field on third down? Can the Patriots defense limit big plays? Can the Patriots offense take advantage of the Chiefs’ inability to stop big plays? Can the Patriots win in the red zone on both sides of the ball?If New England is able to accomplish most of those things, it could very well sway the outcome of the projected shootout in its favor.New England Patriots links 9/25/18 - Belichick concerned more about execution than effort TEAM TALKErik Scalavino offers a Pats-Lions film breakdown, quarter-by-quarter: Cordarrelle Patterson showed a glimpse of what he’s capable of providing on kickoffs. /well http://www.newenglandpatriotsteamonline.com/rob-gronkowski-jersey , that’s something...Paul Perillo tells us who won the matchups on Sunday: Lions control the pace.Conference Calls transcripts: Bill Belichick - Josh McDaniels - DL coach Brandon Daly.LOCAL LINKSTom E.
Please don’t let the name ‘Jack Boys’ stick

There are a few nicknames and monikers that become so ingrained into the sport of football that they becomeinseparable from the game itself. The most famous is probably the concept of a “hail Mary” pass http://www.chargersfootballauthentics.com/mike-williams-jersey-authentic , which is now more often thought of and referred to as a football concept than the pious act itself. This relational transformation is known as ubiquity, and boy do sports love their ubiquity! The concept of tying a memorable phrase to a sports figure or action is not new. Gladiators, including the famous animal fighter Carpophorus, were given nicknames that were meant to be both memorable and descriptive. “The King of the Beasts” was his title, and he triumphed in one match that pitted him against a bear, a lion and a leopard, all of which were released to attack him at once. Another time, he killed 20 separate animals in one battle, using only his bare hands as weapons. In the modern tongue, this dude was ‘legit.’Carpophorus (Karpophoros, Carpoforus, Carpoforo) is a name of Greek origin that means “fruit-bearer.”It seems that bear was more apt than fruit.RomeNicknames can also cover multitudes of athletes. Fast-forward to more modern day examples and you have the Steelers’ Steel Curtain of the 1970s. This title is one that stuck because it does the perfect job of balancing known phraseology with descriptions of the force’s qualities. The nickname “Steel Curtain,” a play on the phrase “Iron Curtain” popularized by former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, originated in a 1971 contest sponsored by Pittsburgh radio station WTAE to name the defense. It works so well because it blends the team’s character (steel, quite obviously, and being a tremendous, fearsome force like the Iron Curtain) with a memorable moniker. When a nickname works on this many levels, it sticks around. There’s the Monsters of the Midway, the Big Blue Wrecking Crew, and many others that stick because of that balance of name and on-field work. The Seattle Seahawks’ incredible defense in 2011+ earned it the nickname ‘The Legion of Boom.’Although specifically referring to the original group consisting of the main starters in the Seahawks secondary: Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor, Brandon Browner and Byron Maxwell, both the team and its fans are trying to keep the name around even after the stars departed. The name itself was coined in 2012 from a twitter contest suggested by radio personalities. The connection to the original Legion of Boom was pretty weak in 2017, but they found something marketable, and I can’t blame them for wanting to keep it going. Here in 2018, they are now firmly trying to convince us that the Legion of Boom was not a set of people, but rather whoever makes up the secondary in a given year. I wish their marketing staff luck in that endeavor, because only continued dominance will make that at all possible. Even the Steel Curtain got trimmed before long. And now we find that the LA Chargers have their own nickname:The Jack Boys. This stems from their use of defensive coordinator Gus Bradley, who oversaw the reign of the Legion of Boom in Seattle. The Chargers certainly do have some incredible power and potential in their defensive ranks, including Casey Hayward, Jahleel Addae, and soon to be introducing Derwin James. This defense has power, it has hunger, and it has an identity- but where did Jack Boys come from?According to ESPN,The name was first brought up during a team meeting back in San Diego, and coined by teammate Adrian McDonald. It refers to the term Jack Boy, which Urban Dictionary defines as: It is also the name of a gang that was known for their car jacking http://www.chargersfootballauthentics.com/melvin-ingram-jersey-authentic , though some reports indicated that they only started their escapades in a Robin Hood-esque spree aimed at robbing drug dealers. Either way, they soon devolved into the same things they were theoretically rallying against. The leader received a grand prize of 15 life sentences, plus 290 years on top of that. With good behavior, he should be able to cut that in half.In summary, the Chargers have all of the potential pieces in place to have a generational defensive force. The current name for this force is, apparently, the Jack Boys. Photo by Tom Pennington/Getty ImagesWithout delving into the reasons for why this name could be confusing and is not, necessarily, the kind of title that invokes fear in an opponent, the big name defenses of the past have seen the most success by trusting their fans to come up with appropriate names. This defense seems to pride themselves on their ability to intercept footballs, which is a great thematic starting ground. We’ve got shadowy figures of all kinds to word play with, and we’ve got the full force of the internet to try and find a catchier name before the Jack Boys tries to catch on in anything but a sarcastic way.So, let’s see what we have as far as things to pair with. We have references to electricity and charging, sure. We have Hollywood, movies, and the ocean. Okay, that’s material, too. There’s California, the West Coast, traffic, and that’s pretty much LA in a nutshell. What we need is some sort of... grand theft motto. Citizen Pain, Disarmageddon, Band of Smothers, no, now we’re too far into Hollywoodland. Maybe the lightning motif?Lightning and Plunder?Hmm. Okay, I’ll be honest, I checked out once I hit Inglorious Grafters. I need help— what names do YOU have?-Jason “Puns of steel” MichaelsChargers-49ers final score: Los Angeles Chargers defeat the San Francisco 49ers 29-27 The Chargers won the toss and elected to receive for some reason. Things immediately got off to a terrible start as Philip Rivers looking for Keenan Allen instead found the 49ers’ Exum who returned the pick for a touchdown. The Chargers predictably started their following drive by handing the ball off to Melvin Gordon before throwing two incomplete passes and punting the ball away. Six offensive snaps equaled three yards and a touchdown that went the wrong way.C.J. Beathard and the 49ers finally took over on offense following the punt. Brandon Mebane showed up big on the first play blowing up a run play in the backfield. A badly off-target pass from Beathard and a subsequent false start put San Francisco in a deep hole on their first 3rd down of the game. Despite no pressure, Beathard still had to check down to his big tight end, George Kittle, who was stopped well short of the sticks to force a punt. The Chargers looked ready to go three-and-out on their next drive, but Lynn elected to go for it on 4th and short. Rivers was able to sneak the ball across the line to gain. From there, a nice catch and run by Gordon got the Chargers into 49ers territory. On 4th & 6, Lynn this time elected to try a long field goal and Caleb Sturgis missed from 54 yards out.Taking over at their own 44, the 49ers opened things up with a 12-yard run by Matt Breida. A chunk play to Marquise Goodwin was extended farther by a roughing the passer penalty on Philon. Finally, Beathard finished off the drive by finding Bourne for a 2-yard touchdown pass.Keenan Allen got the offense moving with a deep reception for 18 yards. Antonio Gates chipped in with a 22-yarder. And on 3rd down from the 5, Gates got as open as anyone has ever been open in the history of competitive football and Rivers hit him for the incredibly easy score. The 49ers took over just before the end of the 1st quarter and began a very long drive that eventually ended in a 21-yard field goal by Robbie Gould. With the ball back in the hands of the good guys, Rivers found Allen again for a 16-yard gain. Gordon added 16 of his own. Ekeler then came on and ran for 7 yards. A few less meaningful plays later, Austin Ekeler lined up out wide Womens Virgil Green Jersey , ran a sluggo, beat his man, and Rivers hit him with a perfect strike for a 22-yard touchdown. The defense held the 49ers to a three-and-out, then Desmond King returned the punt for 56 yards to give the Chargers a chance to score before the half. Ken Whisenhunt called a hilariously stupid run play that Gordon made worse by bouncing it outside to run even more time off the clock. An incomplete pass later, Caleb Sturgis actually made a field goal as time expired.Because the Chargers elected to receive to start off the game, San Francisco got the ball to start the second half. A three-and-out punctuate by a 10-yard sack from rookie Derwin James resulted in another punt and another nice return (this time, 21 yards) by King.Tyrell Williams made a beauty of a catch high-pointing the ball over a defender to pick up 24 yards. Gordon then added a very physical run up the middle for 13 yards. They capped off the drive with Rivers hitting Gordon on a simple pass play for 6 yards and a score.Beathard appeared to be cooking on the next drive completing passes of 12, 23, 15, and 10 yards (with roughing the passer penalties on top of that). However, as they got into the red zone, Trevor Williams jumped a route and took it back 86 yards.Melvin Gordon caught a short pass and had a terrible fumble, but the Chargers got lucky as the 49ers screwed up the recovery by going out of bounds and Los Angeles held onto the ball. After trying to go right back to Gordon following the fumble, the Chargers elected to attempt a field goal on 4th & 5 from the 49ers’ 7-yard line. Shockingly, he converted.Beathard and co. came back on the field, but they were unable to do anything with it after Trevor Williams made a nice tackle on 3rd down just short of the sticks. The Chargers got the ball back and despite starting the drive with a truly great throw to Mike Williams, they were unable to get anything going afterward. On the second play of the next drive, Jahleel Addae took an embarrassingly bad angle in the open field and allowed George Kittle to rumble 82 yards for a touchdown. On the following drive, pressure had Rivers out of sorts as he failed to complete three consecutive passes after a nice 13-yard gain by Gordon. The 49ers took over and ran three plays while picking up a 1st down before the end of the 3rd quarter. Breida then made another nice run up the middle to move the sticks again. Beathard then hit Bourne for a 17-yard gain across the middle. Beathard avoided a sack and scrambled for a short gain on the next snap, but the real story was that Breida appeared to be injured. Two plays later on 3rd & 5, Beathard scrambled for the 1st down, but got annihilated by Casey Hayward at the end of the run. It was close, but Beathard was marked short and Kyle Shanahan challenged the spot. On further review, he was clearly short. Robbie Gould then came on to try a 33-yard field goal which he converted to give the 49ers the lead. After a touchback, the Chargers took over at their own 25. The drive got started with consecutive passes to Keenan Allen for 8 and 11 yards respectively. Ekeler ran through a would-be tackle in the backfield and cut upfield for 11 yards on the play. Gordon caught a pass for an easy 7 yards. Then Gordon broke off a long run for a 34-yard gain. Then, the Chargers ran a toss to the short side of the field for some reason and Ekeler had nowhere to go. Gordon came back on and caught a short pass for 5 yards to set up 3rd & 3 from the 3. Then they dialed up a bubble screen to Gates for some reason and it inevitably did not work, so Sturgis came on to try another field goal. He converted from 21 yards away.On the kick return, Michael Davis punched the ball out of the returner’s hands and Nick Dzubnar scooped it up before going out of bounds, but he didn’t seem to have full control and the call was overturned. The “home” crowd roared its approval. Breida started things off strong for the 9ers picking up 7 on 1st down, but the next two plays were incomplete pass attempts that had no real chance. The first of the two was broken up by a very nice play by Derwin James.Behind a very solid lead block by Keenan Allen, Gordon picked up 15 yards going over 100 yards on the day. Three straight plays to Ekeler got them withing half a yard of a 1st down. They lined up to go for it on 4th down, but they didn’t mean it and called a timeout. After that, Kaser came on to punt from the San Francisco 37. It was a truly cowardly decision. With the ball back, the 49ers went to their running game. Breida picked up 20 yards. Then Alfred Morris picked up another 4. On the next play, Isaac Rochell “intercepted” Beathard’s pass and returned it to the 19-yard line. The ball was knocked out by Derwin James, but technically the play was an interception as Beathard’s hand was moving forward.Ekeler got the ball on 1st down and picked up 5. On 2nd & 5, the Chargers didn’t get overly conservative and threw the ball on a designed rollout as Rivers found Virgil Green for a 1st down that brought us to the 2-minute warning. Three kneel downs later and the game was over.

The Seahawks are the other team keeping the free agent in mind as their cornerback group is currently made up of Shaquill Griffin, Byron Maxwell, Neiko Thorpe, and Justin Coleman. It should also be noted that the Bolts are in “no rush” to sign DRC. After all, the team still boasts a top CB trio in the league with Casey Hayward, Trevor Williams Womens Drew Kaser Jersey , and Desmond King.Over his 10-year career with the Cardinals, Eagles, Broncos, and Giants, Rodgers-Cromartie has amassed 439 combined tackles and 30 interceptions with six being returned for touchdowns. In his final season with New York, he collected 48 tackles and a half-sack across 15 games played.Chargers-Seahawks final score: Los Angeles Chargers defeat the Seattle Seahawks 24-14 The Los Angeles Chargers featured some of their actual key starters this evening against the Seattle Seahawks in Carson, CA http://www.chargersfootballauthentics.com/mike-williams-jersey-authentic , and the results were definitely positive. Philip Rivers saw his first action of the preseason and completed 6 of 7 passes for 62 yards during the 1st quarter of play while feature back Melvin Gordon rushed for 35 yards and a score on 10 attempts. The defense saw a bit of a rough start as they allowed a 60-yard opening drive that was kicked off by a 29-yard strike from Russell Wilson to former Arizona Cardinal Jaron Brown, though they were forced to settle for a field goal attempt that Jason Myers converted from 33 yards out.The Chargers offense responded with a 70-yard drive of their own that culminated in a 2-yard rushing score by Gordon. Roberto Aguayo converted on the point after attempt. The defense was tested on the next two Seattle possessions as the Seahawks drove deep into Chargers territory on both, but they stood strong both times. On one they forced a short field goal attempt and on the other they forced and recovered a fumble. The Chargers special teams showed up in a big way when receiver J.J. Jones received a punt and returned it 72 yards to pay dirt to extend the Los Angeles lead from 1 to 8 before half time.Geno Smith took over for Philip Rivers and in the second half he found second-year wide receiver Mike Williams for a touchdown that reminded people of why he was drafted seventh overall in the 2017 NFL Draft. The defense allowed a touchdown and a two-point conversion late in the game, but the final outcome was never in doubt and they held on for a 10-point margin of victory.

Mostly Positive Reviews The 2018 NFL Draft is in the books and that Cheap Mike Williams Jersey , of course, means it is time for draft grades. Before that, though, here are the players the Chargers selected:Chargers draft class of 2018Florida State DB Derwin JamesUSC EDGE Uchenna NwosuN.C. The malicious turf monster snatched the innocent Cheap Kyzir White Jersey , pure rookie on the very first day of pads in training camp. With Lamp sidelined and my tear ducts ran dry, Feeney became the sixth-man along the offensive line and found himself on the field much sooner than anyone anticipated. During the second-half of the Chargers first victory at the StubHub Center against the Denver Broncos, starting left guard Matt Slauson went down with a torn bicep and was lost for the remainder of the year.“Dan’s been growing like a weed, and he’s ready.”These were the words head coach Anthony Lynn had as he announced Feeney as the starter moving forward. And by golly, the rookie was.Feeney went on to start the final nine games of the regular season, playing an integral part in the Chargers finishing the year on a 9-3 stretch after a horrendous 0-4 start through the first month of play.Coming out of Indiana University as a two-time All-American who played significant time as a true freshman, the team knew they were getting a steal in the third round when #66 was still on the board. One of the biggest reasons to love Feeney is that he encompasses that midwestern, blue-collar work ethic that can help separate the good offensive linemen from the great. There are so many offensive line linemen that get drafted higher than they should based on the fact that draft analysts believe they have a “huge upside.”The fact remains that there are plenty of other traits and characteristics to look for in an offensive line prospect that that have a higher success rate of transitioning to the next level. Many people covet elite length, athleticism, and “basketball feet”. These don’t nearly coincide with NFL success as much as fundamentals, mental processing, and overall consistent effort. Feeney gives you all of the latter, but not so much of the former. This is likely why he wasn’t touted higher as a prospect. This is another play that exemplifies the extra effort Feeney puts into his game. From the snap, Feeney gives a quick jab to this outside shade before releasing to the second level in order to cut off the backside linebacker. Benefiting from #52’s hesitation, Feeney easily crosses his face and keeps the hole wide open for Gordon to scoot through. Even after completing his duty on the play, he finishes his man for good measure. If there is one strong correlation between great offensive linemen, it’s the willingness to go that extra mile in order to demoralize your opponent play after play throughout the entire game. At this point, it looks like Feeney is in possession of this coveted trait. The elevated confidence in Feeney became noticeable as the season winded down. Less mistakes were made, his movements seemed more fluid and lacked any hesitancy. However, he was still a rookie and some of the mistakes he was expected to make did http://www.chargerscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-virgil-green-jersey , in fact, happen. Above is a clip from the second meeting between the Bolts and the Chiefs. On this play, the offensive line had a slide-right protection, meaning that Feeney and the rest of the line was responsible for the gaps to their right. Simple enough, yes? There was some breakdowns in Feeney’s fundamentals that led to some interior pressure that is a big no-no when it come to protecting Rivers, a quarterback with almost no mobility to his name. With a 1-technique shaded on the center to Feeney’s side, he’s got to know that he must get himself fully in front of the defender, matching his midline with the opponent’s. When he shoots his hands, they land outside the defender’s chest which gives the defensive linemen the the win in the battle for leverage. Feeney can no longer fight to get back in front of him and he allows the penetration right up the middle.By the fourth quarter of this game, things got to the point where Feeney was the best offensive linemen on the field for the Chargers as injuries kept piling up. At the point of the above play, the front five were (from left to right): Sam Tevi, Feeney, Spencer Pulley, Kenny Wiggins, and Michael Schofield. *throws up a little*PositivesPlayed a role in the offense with a good deal of responsibility. Was responsible for making sure all checks at the LOS were in before signaling to the center they were ready to snap the ball.Understands leverage when going against larger interior defensive linemen.Knows when to flatten angles when to climbing to the second level against faster defenders.Looks for work when it’s not presented to him off the snap in pass protection.Possesses the “prick/finisher” mentality that goes a long way at the NFL level.Above-average movement skills and athletic-ability allow for increased variances in the run game as Anthony Lynn loves to pull his interior linemen.Always gives the extra effort when plays break down. Will fly around looking for something to throw himself into.Knows how to execute zone steps with rock-solid fundamentals. Doesn’t allow iDL to split double-teams.++ Functional StrengthAt 6-4 and 311 pounds, has the mass needed to help protect and control the depth of the pocketNegativesBecomes jumpy off the snap when he thinks he may get beat with speed.Needs to become more patient with this initial punch in pass protection. Will stop his feet when he thinks he has help with a defender, causing him to only work half a man.Can stand to lunge less. Usually happens when he doubts his abilities. Not the twitchiest in pass protection. Will commit to contact prematurely in hopes of guessing correctly to beat faster defendersAfter playing in almost every game and collecting nine starts, Feeney has shown enough at this point to make Chargers fans believe he could be a mainstay of this offensive line for years to come. With the addition of Mike Pouncey at center and veteran Russell Okung on his other side, expect Feeney to come out in 2018 with a stranglehold on the left guard position. Add back in fellow guard Forrest Lamp to the mix and you’ve got the makings of one of the best offensive lines the Bolts have had since the teams of the mid-2000’s.
