AFS CELEBRATES ITS FIRST YEAR OF BUSINESS WITH A LAUNCH FUNCTION AT ITS MANUFACTURING PLANT IN BENONI

The Abrasive Flow Solutions (AFS) group celebrated the company’s first yr of enterprise recently (March 2022) by internet hosting a two-day launch operate at its manufacturing plant in Benoni, Gauteng.
AFS, which specialises within the design and manufacture of slurry-related valves, was established by the Engineering Solutions Group (ESG) of Invicta Holdings Limited, as part of the Group’s strategy to broaden its fluid know-how providers in Africa.
“The AFS team works intently with our sister firm BMG, to increase specialist companies, by way of the design, distribution, supply and help of a broad vary of slurry-related valves, together with Klep diaphragm and wedge gate valves,” says Donald Morrison, General Manager, AFS. “Our specialists efficiently achieved their first challenge, which they set for themselves when the company was established – to enhance the standard of diaphragm valves, by extending service life and decreasing the maintenance necessities of this range. This aim was achieved through hard work and the implementation of superior design applied sciences, materials and coatings and is a superb tribute to our group.
“Important milestones during the last year embody the institution of a model new rubber lining facility, with the set up of autoclaves that have capacities of as much as 10 m in size. In the rubber business, autoclaves are used to vulcanise rubber products, which aren't but secure dimensionally, by elevating heat and strain. เกจวัดแรงดันลม is much like a huge oven, with extraordinarily excessive temperature and pressure scores, that make rubber components stable and solid in dimension and form.
“Another advancement is a model new pinch valve sleeve manufacturing facility inside our new rubber lining and sleeve manufacturing facility.
“We are now in a position to manufacture all pinch sleeves, including excessive stress and pneumatic sleeves. AFS pinch sleeves are manufactured from the best high quality rubber products, which may be supplied by Rema Tip Top. We have also made a big funding to extend our hydraulic pressing facility and through our new design and process, we are in a place to manufacture high-pressure diaphragms able to pressures in excess of 20 Bar.
“AFS has enhanced the design and production of its slurry knife gate valve vary, with dimensions ranging in diameter from a 50 mm unit to 1.5 m valves. The vary consists of flanged, wafer, lugged, urethane lined and high-pressure knife gate valves.
“BMG also distributes a regionally manufactured vary of abrasion-resistant valves for Dual Products International. These merchandise embrace pinch valves, new water air release valves, Resilient Seated Gate (RSV) valves and rotary disc sleeve valves. AFS has recently manufactured and factory-tested some larger DN 700 hydraulically operated 20 Bar valves for a buyer in Europe.
“Recently launched Dual rotary disc sleeve valves comprise a sophisticated rotating gate valve with sleeve design, developed specifically for heavy abrasive and corrosive slurries and water and wastewater installations. This patented design allows the valve to cycle through heavy slurries with out sticking. Wafer, flanged and high-pressure variants can be found.
“Our extremely expert group has a radical understanding of the processes where valves are installed and is able to specify the right valves required for each utility. We also help prospects in fixing the problems of adverse installations and applications.
“To guarantee optimum safety, effectivity and the extended service life of each system, the number of the proper industrial slurry valve is critical. Valve choice is predicated on various factors, together with the dimensions and shape of particles, stress, temperatures and chemical content material.”

This AFS portfolio is particularly well-suited for use in harsh conditions in numerous industries, together with mining, chemical and petrochemical, water and wastewater, vitality manufacturing and agri-food industries. Important installations just lately, have been in mining slurry, tailings dams, and acid pumping applications, which depend on plant availability and the secure operation of valves.
Another achievement for AFS is that ESG has just lately achieved recognition as a Level 2 contributor to Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE), which implies clients can declare BEE procurement recognition of 125 % in opposition to all purchases.
Website: www.bmgworld.web

Website: www.abrasiveflowsolutions.com

Post navigation

Share

Integration of a pressure sensor element – error compensation of signal for zero point and span

ร้านซ่อมเครื่องวัดความดัน of a sensor element or a corresponding assembly has the advantage that very compact dimensions are possible. However, some points need to be taken into account, which are an additional effort for the customer compared to using a fully adjusted sensor with an amplified output signal.
For example, for each sensor, the zero point and span error must be measured and compensated through the customer’s electronics. For this purpose, a measurement of the sensor signal, both in the unpressurised state and at nominal pressure/working pressure, is needed.
In both cases there will be a signal deviation from the expected value (= offset). However, these measuring errors can be eliminated via the evaluation electronics. Especially when setting the working pressure, one should take care that a sufficiently accurate reference is used (standard value: the reference, in accordance with the specification of the EN 837 standard, should have an at least 4 times smaller measuring error than the sensor to be adjusted).
For illustration, a numerical example of a metal thin-film sensor (e.g. WIKA model TTF-1): The zero point offset can be up to 25 %; the span error, depending on the pressure range, 15-25 %. In the worst case with the same sign, so that the measured value makes no sense if the above-described adjustment is not made.
After adjustment of the zero point and span errors, attention must be paid to the specifications from the corresponding data sheet of the sensor elements and their components to determine the accuracy at room temperature (non-linearity, hysteresis, non-repeatability).
Note
Further information on metal thin-film sensors Model TTF-1 can be found on the WIKA website.
Distributed Intelligence
Distributed Intelligence on the integration of pressure sensors into hydraulic systems
Fill below form and we will send you the whitepaper “Distributed Intelligence”.
Name
Company
E-mail
Send
We’re committed to your privacy.
