BEREA Orange Bernie Kosar Jersey , Ohio (AP) — Duke Johnson wore a backpack on Monday that seemed symbolic. The Browns finally asked him to carry a larger load.Of the handful of positives to emerge from Sunday’s 37-21 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, capping another stormy week of change and uncertainty in Cleveland, Johnson’s two-touchdown performance was at the top of the list. After being overlooked — some would argue misused — for much of the season, Johnson was the primary focus of the Browns’ offensive game plan. He finished with nine catches for 78 yards, added one rush for eight and drew extra attention from Kansas City’s defense, which allowed his teammates to make plays.Johnson was hesitant to say it, but Cleveland’s change at offensive coordinator, with running backs coach Freddie Kitchens replacing the fired Todd Haley, made a difference.“Um,” Johnson said sheepishly when asked if the Kitchens-for-Haley swap was the reason for his rise in production. “I guess you could look at it that way. Again, it’s the same plays we’ve been calling, the same offense. There’s just certain things that coach Kitchens likes better than coach Haley did.”Before Sunday, Johnson’s season-high was four catches and there were times when he wasn’t on the field at all. What made that even more perplexing was that Johnson led the Browns (2-6-1) with 74 catches for 693 yards last season and developed into one of the NFL’s best dual-threat backs. But with Haley concerned about getting touches for running backs Nick Chubb and Carlos Hyde, who was recently traded to Jacksonville, Johnson became the odd-man out.A proven playmaker not getting a chance to make plays.Johnson was targeted by rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield against the Chiefs, and he hopes to get even more opportunities as the season progresses.“I think it is possible Bernie Kosar Jersey 2019 ,” Johnson said. “Just going out there and showing what I’m capable of doing, especially showing the reason why I’m here. It was a great showing for myself, but not so much for the team and we’re about team here. We should have gotten the win, that’s most important.”Following his first game since being chosen Hue Jackson’s interim replacement, defensive coordinator/head coach Gregg Williams said Johnson’s breakout was caused by a combination of things, including Kitchens and Mayfield working together for the first time.“Freddie did a good job and Baker, too,” Williams said. “Baker’s understanding of that from the read process — when a play is called as a quarterback, you don’t automatically know it is going to go to that person. There is a read definition that takes you to that person, but from Baker and Freddie, they did a good job with that.“It was good to see that with Duke. Just like what we have talked about with other people, I think he can do more and he will. He had a good fire about him, and he will continue to improve too. We need him to improve.”Getting Johnson more involved didn’t result in a win for the Browns, but it was a small step toward improvement.Cleveland matched a season-low with only four penalties, and Williams, who decided early on he was going to be aggressive Orange Antonio Callaway Jersey , liked that his offense converted three times on fourth down. The Browns couldn’t keep up with Kansas City’s high-speed, high-scoring offense, but Johnson was impressed with the team’s character in the aftermath of Jackson and Haley’s firings.“I never saw them blink,” he said. “One, two, scores down or whatever, we were always in a position to continue to fight. I never saw them blink. That is good. That is what we are supposed to do as professionals. Young team, old team, I do not care — that was good. There was a lot of positive that way. Defensively, we have to play better.”Another bright spot was left tackle Greg Robinson. The 2014 No. 2 overall pick made his first start for Cleveland filling in for Desmond Harrison, who was out with an unspecified illness. Robinson not only protected Mayfield’s blind side, but handled all his other duties.“He played well, didn’t he?” said Williams, who was on the Rams’ staff when they selected Williams. “I’ve seen him develop as a young guy. I’ve seen him have his battles, ups and downs, and it’s been good.”Following the game Antonio Callaway Jersey 2019 , Mayfield singled out Robinson, who was grateful for the QB’s praise.“It felt good to just get out there with the boys, taking it to the game field rather than just practicing,” said Robinson, signed by the Browns in June. “It was encouraging and I’m really happy that he spoke well about me.”NOTES: Williams did not have updates on rookie CB Denzel Ward (hip), CB E.J. Gaines (concussion) or LB Christian Kirksey (hamstring), all injured Sunday.Williams reiterated his decision to sit DB Damarious Randall (groin) was so he can be healthy for multiple games and not just one. In his career, he is a perfect 10-0 against the Titans and will look to extend that streak for at least one more game. If he does, he will carry the Indianapolis Colts to an improbable playoff berth. If he does not, the Colts fairy tale run will come to an end just short of that goal.Game Time8:20 pm ET Sunday December 30, 2018LocationNissan Stadium - Nashville, TNTV ChannelNBC - Al Michaels (play-by-play) Womens Abdurrahman Ya-Sin 2019 Jersey , Cris Collinsworth (color), Michele Tafoya (sideline)RadioWFNI (1070 The Fan) and WLHK (HANK FM) — Matt Taylor (play-by-play), Jim Sorgi (color) and Caroline Cann (sideline)Westwood One - Kevin Kugler (play-by-play), Jason Taylor (color)Referee AssignmentWalt Anderson“Enemy” BlogMusic City MiraclesTwitterFollow @StampedeBlue for the complete Colts coverage.FacebookLike Stampede Blue on Facebook!PodcastsApple Podcasts | Stitcher | Art 19 | SB Colts Cast YT ChannelColts activate CB Lenzy Pipkins, place T J’Marcus Webb on IR The Colts are yet again short on tackles. J’Marcus Webb started all but 1 offensive snap in the season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals, and now finds himself on the Colts’ injured reserve list after sustaining a hamstring injury. With the left tackle spot murky due to Anthony Castonzo’s absence (also due to a hamstring injury) Indianapolis Colts Abdurrahman Ya-Sin Jersey , Webb stepped up to play the right tackle spot while Joe Haeg manned the left tackle position. The offensive line did an admirable job in pass protection and looked to get better with Castonzo’s return, but will now slide toward being even thinner at the tackle position. Webb’s roster spot was filled by elevating CB Lenzy Pipkins, the player acquired in the trade of LB Antonio Morrison to the Green Bay Packers, from the practice squad. Pipkins did not have much time to prove he belonged before cuts took place, and definitely offers some possible depth in a very inexperienced cornerback room. Pipkins is in his second season and played 12 games with one start for Green Bay in his rookie season. He was signed by the Packers and an undrafted free agent and could be a contributor on special teams and as depth.Additionally, the Colts signed Tarvarus McFadden to the practice squad to fill Pipkins’ spot. McFadden Cheap Abdurrahman Ya-Sin Youth Jersey , as I wrote this morning, was in for a tryout and was a high value undrafted free agent who signed with the 49ers in the offseason. He has the necessary traits to play the cornerback position and makes perfect sense on the practice squad as a guy the coaches can try to develop.

Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints needed less than 10 minutes to obliterate what looked like a milestone victory for the seemingly cursed Cleveland Browns.Wil Lutz kicked a 44-yard field goal with 21 seconds left Trey Hendrickson Jersey Stitched , Cleveland kicker Zane Gonzalez pushed the second of his two missed field goals wide right in the final seconds, and the Saints held on for a 21-18 victory that extended the Browns’ winless streak to 19 games.“These are games that we find we find our identity a little bit,” Brees said, alluding to New Orleans’ inability to score more than three points until the first of Michael Thomas‘ two touchdown catches with 8:41 to go. “These are games that, hey, you didn’t have your best stuff, but you found a way.”With the help of another Cleveland collapse.Gonzalez also missed two extra points, one week after his potential winning field goal was blocked in a season-opening tie with Pittsburgh. His final miss came from 52 yards.“It snowballed,” Gonzalez said, acknowledging the psychological effect of earlier misses that he hooked left before pushing his final miss the other way. “I was overcompensating. I get paid to make those kicks and I have to make them.”Gonzalez’s tough day represented only a portion of Cleveland’s implosion. Defensive back Derrick Kindred‘s defensive holding penalty on what would have been a third-down sack extended New Orleans’ first touchdown drive, which ended with Thomas’ 2-yard catch and cut Cleveland’s lead to 12-10.With just less than five minutes left, Saints safety Marcus Williams intercepted Tyrod Taylor in Cleveland territory on a pass Taylor threw back over the middle as he was rolling to his right.“You never want to throw late down the middle,” Taylor said. “That’s something I need to be better at. That play was not good for us. You can’t put your team in that situation.”The turnover led to New Orleans’ second TD on a 5-yard fade to Thomas, who said he was determined to make up for his fumble earlier in the game. Thomas outjumped two defenders to make the catch.“Enough was enough,” Thomas said. “I needed to respond and help my teammates, and that’s what I did. And I still owe them.”Brees finished 28 for 35 for 243 yards and two TDs for New Orleans (1-1). Thomas caught 12 passes for 89 yards.Taylor was 22 of 30 for 246 yards, one TD and one interception. Jarvis Landry had five catches for 69 yards, and Carlos Hyde scored on a 1-yard TD run.It wasn’t enough for the Browns (0-1-1) Youth Sheldon Rankins Jersey , who were very close to starting 2-0.“It’s tough, but we got a lot of football left to play,” Landry said.GOOD KAMARAAlvin Kamara, the 2017 offensive rookie of the year, continued to be a bright spot in a largely frustrating day for New Orleans’ offense. His seemingly slippery running style continued to produce yards after contact and he wound up with 99 yards from scrimmage, including 53 on six catches. His run for a late 2-point conversion gave the Saints an 18-12 lead and made a difference after Taylor found rookie receiver Antonio Callaway for a 47-yard, all-or-nothing TD heave on fourth-and-5 with 1:16 to go.Gonzalez missed a point-after kick for the second time, and Brees’ 42-yard completion to Ted Ginn Jr. set up Lutz’ go-ahead kick.TURNOVERSThe Browns, who forced six turnovers against Pittsburgh in Week 1, recovered two more fumbles when Thomas and Ginn were both stripped after receptions.Browns defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi sacked Brees twice and would have had a third if not for Kindred’s penalty.Overall, it was a strong showing for the unit coached by coordinator Gregg Williams, who held the same job in New Orleans when the Saints won their only Super Bowl.INJURIESBrowns: Safety Damarious Randall received treatment on the field after being in on a tackle in the second quarter.Saints: Tommylee Lewis received treatment for what the club described as a knee injury after a big hit during a punt return in the second quarter. He was listed as questionable to return to the game. … Defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins left in the fourth quarter after taking a hit to the head. He said after the game his face mask was pushed into his nose but that he did not have a concussion.UP NEXTBrowns: Host the New York Jets on Thursday night.Saints: Visit Atlanta on Sunday.___ TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — The Buccaneers pulled off the biggest upset of the opening week of the NFL season, beating the Saints in a high-scoring shootout. Three months later, neither team is looking back.New Orleans (10-2) is on the verge of clinching another NFC South title. Tampa Bay (5-7) is trying to escape a deep hole and climb back into playoff contention.“It does feel like it’s been quite a while,” Saints coach Sean Payton said, reflecting on his team’s 48-40 loss to the Bucs in Week 1.“Obviously, a lot’s taken place since then. We will be seeing a different quarterback in this game Sheldon Rankins Jersey Stitched ,” Payton added. “I think there are some similarities relative to what the teams do scheme-wise and yet through the course of the season, there’s been injuries, new players playing at different positions for both sides and a big enough gap to where you’re watching a lot of other tape, not just the tape of your past game.”That’s life in the NFL, which doesn’t afford much time to dwell on wins or losses. When the division rivals meet again Sunday, the Saints will be eager to rebound from a 13-10 road loss to Dallas that stopped a 10-game winning streak. The Bucs beat Carolina 24-17 last week, improving to 2-0 since Jameis Winston regained Tampa Bay’s starting quarterback job.“You don’t win 10 straight in this league if you’re not pretty good,” Bucs coach Dirk Koetter said, cautioning against reading too much into New Orleans’ only loss since Ryan Fitzpatrick led Tampa Bay past the Saints on Sept. 9.“As we’ve said many times, this is a week-to-week league and there’s good players on both sides,” Koetter added. “I don’t think the Saints are going to be losing too much sleep over losing (and) being 10-2.”New Orleans can clinch its second straight NFC South title with a win Sunday or a Carolina loss or tie.The Bucs, who haven’t made the playoffs since 2007, have won the past two meetings in the division rivalry.“We’re playing for a lot, in the position we’re in. I think our team knows that,” Payton said.“The bottom line is we control our destiny right now,” quarterback Drew Brees said. “We win this game, we win the division and that’s the first step, first goal that we set for ourselves this season. … Then Youth Vonn Bell Jersey , we’ll worry about the next goal.”Some things to know about the Bucs, who won two straight after a stretch in which they dropped seven of eight games, and Saints:PERSONAL RIVALRYTop Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore could be seeking a measure of redemption when he lines up against receiver Mike Evans.A year ago, Lattimore memorably frustrated Evans to the point that the big Bucs receiver leveled the cornerback along the Tampa Bay sideline as Winston and Lattimore exchanged words. Yet, in Week 1 of this season, Evans had a huge day in the Superdome against Lattimore, catching seven passes for 147 yards, highlighted by his 50-yard touchdown catch. But Lattimore, the 2017 defensive rookie of the year, has come back strong from that game and Payton was highly complimentary of his play this season while, to some extent, also excusing his Week 1 performance.“Marshon, we feel like, is one of the better corners in this league,” Payton said, “and I’m glad we have him.”IMPROVED PASS RUSHSince Week 7 when Tampa Bay fired defensive coordinator Mike Smith and promoted linebackers coach Mark Duffner as his replacement, the Bucs have the second-most sacks in the league with 24. The only team with more over that stretch is New Orleans with 25.RAIN READINESPayton tends to be very particular about reviewing weather forecasts for outdoor games and particularly so this week, where the forecast is calling for rain and some wind.“It doesn’t ‘look like’ it’s going to rain. It’s going to rain — 95 percent chance of rain. There’ll be some wind — 10 to 12 miles an hour. We know the direction; it’ll head from their locker room toward the pirate ship. I think the footing is going to be important relative to the shoes that we’re wearing.”To that end Vonn Bell Jersey Stitched , the Saints were practicing outside Thursday, when Payton said their work included “wet ball drills, the whole 9 yards. It’s just understanding ball security, understanding the conditions.”Payton recalled that in September 2013, a Saints game at Tampa Bay was delayed by weather.“We’ve been there before when we were sent in … to go eat oranges for half an hour and then stretch and come back out and play,” he said.BALL SECURITYWinston, who sat out the season opener while serving a suspension for violating the NFL’s personal conduct penalty, has not turned the ball over since regaining his starting job two weeks ago. In his past three games, including starts vs. the 49ers and Panthers, the fourth-year pro completed 61 of 84 passes (72.6 percent) for 760 yards and six TDs vs. one interception for a 119.1rating. “He’s playing with a lot of confidence,” Payton said.“I’m sure we haven’t seen the last of turnovers. … (But) I think as long as Jameis continues to make good decisions, then he’s going to play good football,” Koetter said. “That’s really all we’re worried about.”

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A courtroom quest by two New Orleans Saints ticketholders for a full or partial do-over of this year’s NFC championship game because of a blown “no-call” by game officials was rejected Thursday by a federal judge.NFL officials have acknowledged that flags should have been thrown when a Rams defensive back leveled a Saints receiver with a helmet-to-helmet hit at a crucial point in the final minutes of regulation time. The Rams won the Jan. 20 conference championship in overtime and are set to play the New England Patriots in Sunday’s Super Bowl in Atlanta.Fan reaction in New Orleans has included disbelief, anger and resignation, expressed in newspaper headlines, billboards (“They reffed up” said one), promises by some restaurants and bars that they won’t show the Super Bowl broadcast, and posters of blind referees. And at least two lawsuits. One was a class-action lawsuit on behalf of ticketholders that was awaiting action in state court. The other was filed by season ticketholders Tommy Badeaux and Candis Lambert two days after the game. It sought a court order called a writ of mandamus forcing the NFL to implement a rule allowing Commissioner Roger Goodell to investigate “extraordinarily unfair acts” that affect the game. Remedies under that rule include rescheduling the game in full Marcus Davenport Jersey White , or from the point at which the unfair act occurred. In a statement Thursday evening, Frank D’Amico, an attorney for Badeaux and Candis, gave no indication he would appeal U.S. District Judge Susie Morgan’s ruling regarding the writ of mandamus. He said there remains an unresolved issue involving Saints season ticketholders’ rights “to purchase tickets for the Super Bowl at face value to see the Saints play in that game.” But he gave no details on his next move. The NFL did not respond to an emailed request for comment.“None of the actions Plaintiffs might seek to compel Commissioner Goodell to do are the kinds of actions a writ of mandamus may address,” Morgan said in a 17-page ruling in which she detailed the extraordinary circumstances in which Louisiana law allows such an order to be issued. In the same ruling, she also rejected arguments that the case should be heard in state court in New Orleans, where it was originally filed. She said the suit was, in effect Womens Marcus Davenport Jersey , a class-action lawsuit seeking relief for all ticketholders and Saints fans, involving defendants outside of Louisiana and amounts of money that all make it appropriate for federal court.

A Sunday night item explaining a rule that White Bobby Hebert Jersey , in theory, gives the Commissioner the power to order a do-over as the remedy for extraordinary unfair outcomes apparently has fueled one lawsuit, and counting.Via WDSU.com, a New Orleans lawyer has filed a lawsuit seeking to compel Commissioner Roger Goodell to invoke Rule 17 of the official rulebook and replay the balance of the NFC Championship game from the moment Rams defensive back Nickell Robey-Coleman wiped out, without consequence, Saints receiver Tommylee Lewis before a pass intended for Lewis arrived. The New Orleans lawyer, Frank D’Amico, also has issued a press release that copies and pastes extensively from the original PFT story on the issue, without attribution. (Hopefully, D’Amico’s legal skills far exceed his P.R. abilities.)A Lafayette law firm separately has informed the NFL that litigation over the outcome could be coming.Lawsuits like this very rarely prevail. But the league will have to dot some i’s and cross some t’s to get out of this one, especially since D’Amico’s lawsuit undoubtedly will seek emergency relief aimed at forcing the Rams and Saints to reconvene in New Orleans for the final 1:49 of regulation, with the score tied at 20 and the Saints having a first down just inside the L.A. five.Given that the lawsuit has been filed in Louisiana state court, the publicly-elected local judges may be inclined to take a more favorable look at this, forcing the NFL to potentially scramble through appeals courts and/or federal courts to avoid what could start as a half-joke and quickly become a deadly-serious problem for the league. At a minimum, a state-court judge could force the NFL to emerge from hiding and answer pointed questions about what happened on Sunday, when Rule 17 applies, and why it shouldn’t apply here. The New Orleans Saints earned a heart-racing win over Philadelphia last week, continuing the Saints’ Super Bowl hopes and putting Who Dat Nation in position to celebrate on the best weekend in sports, NFL Conference Championship weekend. Now they host the Los Angeles Rams for the right to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl! The NFL’s final four take the stage to determine who moves on to Super Bowl LIII.The NFC title matchup features the two best teams in the conference all season, while the AFC title matchup features the highest-scoring team in the league against the two-time defending conference champions. With the Super Bowl on the line, we will see these teams give all they have!Last week I went 3-1I told you so: Patriots over Chargers! What do I know: Colts over Chiefs?CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS#2 Los Angeles Rams at #1 New Orleans SaintsSunday, January 20th - 2:05pm CST - FOXThe Saints will represent the NFC in Super Bowl LIII on February 3rd.Drew Brees and Sean Payton are 6-0 all-time at home in the playoffs Bobby Hebert Jersey 2019 , a record that is crucial at this point.Homefield advantage, which the Saints will take full advantage of this Sunday, is paramount in the NFC Championship. There is a clear precedent for the importance for homefield advantage in this game.Home teams have won the last five NFC title matchups.Simply look at the past three NFC Championship Games to see the impact for the home team:2016 NFC Championship: Carolina 49 - Arizona 15 Arizona had the NFL’s top-ranked offense and ranked 2nd in the NFL in points. They mustered just 15 points in a 35 point loss on the road.2017 NFC Championship: Atlanta 44 - Green Bay 21 Green Bay was 4th in the NFL in points and were led, as always, by Aaron Rodgers who had a career performance the week before in Dallas.Rodgers and company lost by 23 points on the road, in a game they trailed by 31 points in the 3rd quarter.2018 NFC Championship: Philadelphia 38 - Minnesota 7Minnesota had the NFL’s top-ranked defense and ranked 1st in the NFL in fewest points allowed. The Vikings were even granted a “miracle” the week before, but what did that get them, other than this lopsided beating. They lost by 31 points on the road in a game they gave up 38 consecutive points after scoring the first touchdown on the road.***As these last three years have proven, when you are at home in the NFC Championship, you have a significant advantage, no matter how good the opponent, how outstanding their offense, or dominating their defense. Each of these games were predicted by experts and analysts to be close games, yet look at those results.A two game bias is clouding the popular opinion of this game. The Rams shut down Dallas’ offense and ran all over their defense, clearly they are the dominant team this week. The Saints struggled to beat the #6 seed and failed to score 48 points like the last meeting. This is a team clearly on a steep decline. These are the prevailing “hot takes” circulating as the week of overanalyzing had dragged on.The Saints are not judged on wins, grit, or efficiency, they are judged on style points.Just because the Saints didn't score style points last week doesn't mean this team is incapable of making a definitive statement against a very good opponent. If there was a time to be wary of Sean Payton’s Saints, it’s a situation like the Philadelphia game a week ago. When they are facing a team they dominated by 41 earlier in the year, a team they were huge favorites against, a team many suggested were lucky to even have made the playoffs. Those are the games you see the slow starts.Despite it all, the game was won Josh LeRibeus Jersey Stitched , the offense ground Philly into submission, and the defense dominated for the final three quarters of the game. This is not a team “on the decline” but one that can win in more ways than about any team remaining. If there is ever a time to ride with Sean Payton’s Saints, it’s a situation like this Sunday. When they are facing a team they have been positioned with atop the standings all season long.A team many consider the best in the league, and a team supposedly primed to win on the road. The Saints thrive in these situations, in the Superdome, and have come away so many times with not just a win, but a statement. This Sunday will be the Saints statement.Scoff if you like, but the Saints will not be denied. No, this game will not be like their regular season matchup. There will be no Rams comeback, no rally. You know those Saints games in the Superdome we’ve all seen, those games where everything is clicking, and the opponent almost doesn't matter? This will be one of those performances. This will be a dominant home performance by the Saints, just like the past three NFC title games.Homefield means everything. This moment is why the Saints fought so hard this season to secure it.The Superdome and the fans within it will make all the difference in the world.Pick: SaintsFinal Score: 42-17***#2 New England Patriots at #1 Kansas City ChiefsSunday, January 20th - 5:40pm CST - CBSThe Chiefs against arguably any other team in the AFC would be overwhelming favorites in this game, but there's something about the Patriots.New England is always here, always in this position. For eight consecutive years now, the Patriots are in the AFC Championship Game.A huge factor in this game, much like the NFC title game, is homefield advantage.Just like the NFC, home teams have won the last five AFC title matchups. This will be the first-ever AFC Championship Game at Arrowhead Stadium, and the home crowd will be a huge factor for the Chiefs. As great as New England has been in AFC title games, most of their success in the Brady/Belichick era has taken place at home.Tom Brady is 2-3 all-time in the AFC Championship Game on the road Youth Malcom Brown Jersey , including 0-2 during this eight-year stretch.Temperatures in the low 20’s won't be a major factor for either team as they are both cold-weather towns, but crowd noise working for, rather than against, the young quarterback, will be a huge factor for Kansas City.If this game were at Gillette Stadium, it would still be close, but New England would likely be the play, but it's not. This will be a very thrilling game. The veteran, future Hall-of-Fame quarterback, Brady will not be shaken or affected by the hostile environment, but the young, inexperienced quarterback Patrick Mahomes will be lifted by it.This will come down to the very end, and Kansas City will get the late score to send them to the Super Bowl for the first time since the late, great Hank Stram matriculated down their sideline.Pick: ChiefsFinal Score: 34-32***Well, there you have it ladies and gentlemen, your potential conference champions! The Saints are one win away from the Super Bowl!Leave us your picks, insight, and comments below!

A couple years ago, it was the secondary overhaul after they let a slew of veteran defensive backs walk in free agency. Last year, both the wide receiver and tight position groups got a major shake up after the departure of former All-Pro veterans. This left the team with a lot of new players running around on offense, which wasn’t ideal for their young quarterback. The great thing about this offseason is that the team hasn’t gone through any of that. A little cohesiveness is going to do wonders for this team as they build upon a good season. Sure, there are some changes. Cole Beasley left, but so what. Randall Cobb is here now. The biggest change comes from moving away from Scott Linehan as offensive coordinator to Kellen Moore, but as our own Tom Ryle indicates - there will still be a lot of similarities, and that’s not a bad thing.Essentially, the Cowboys have tweaked many different areas of their team, but none of them are major and all of them seem to be things that can only make the team better. With a defense on the rise Youth Marcus Martin Jersey , the team ensured it was going to stay that way by re-signing DeMarcus Lawrence to a long-term deal. They also traded for Robert Quinn to rush the other side. And their top draft resource was spent on an athletic young defensive tackle, Trysten Hill. And while the big moves were on the defensive side, the offense has done quite a bit to improve the group as well. For example:Jon Kitna is the new QB coach to help improve Dak Prescott’s mechanicsTony Pollard should help alleviate the workload of Ezekiel Elliott without a big drop off in playmaking abilityRandall Cobb is a more explosive slot receiver who can also play on the outside.Jason Witten provides a nice security blanket for PrescottThe return of Travis Frederick and the addition of Connor McGovern strengthens an all-important offensive lineWhen you take a step back and look at all the changes, how can you not be excited about this team’s future? But if there is one thing that brings about a little bit of concern, it’s the loss of three of the team’s more experienced scouts. It wasn’t jaw-dropping news or anything, but in the last month the Cowboys organization has lost Walter Juliff, Jim Abrams, and Tom Ciskowski. Juliff left to become Mike Mayock’s new senior adviser in Oakland. Abrams followed him to the West Coast to become the Raiders director of scouting. Ciskowski, who you might remember as the person in charge of the draft process prior to Will McClay taking over, retired after 27 years with the organization. Are these changes something that should worry us?Well, let’s put some things in perspective. It’s real easy for us to pick our favorites as to who’s responsible for the team’s success. Some of us point to the Jason Garrett influence and how he is a leader of men, building a team we can all be proud of. There’s a certain culture in Dallas, and let’s be honest - we all love it.Then, there’s also the new and improved Stephen Jones who has been a financial wizard in terms of where the money is going. Smart free agent spending and investing into proven homegrown talent appears to be a winning formula in Big D.But while some of us have our doubts about Garrett or recognize that Stephen’s been around the organization a long time to where we’re not 100% sure how much credit they should receive, one thing we can all agree on is - this team is outstanding at acquiring talent from the draft. Whether it is their impressive recent history of drafting All-Pro first-rounders or the surprising league-leader of starts from Day 3 picks, the Cowboys draft like a boss. It’s easy to just credit Will McClay for all that success Marcus Martin Jersey Stitched , but there are a lot of different people that have had a role in that success. So, you can see how it might be a little concerning when three scouts leave the organization. The loss of Ciskowski may not be much of a concern. Remember, he was unofficially demoted after the 2013 draft “debacle” where the Cowboys weren’t sure to do when Sharif Floyd was still on the board when the team was on the clock in the first round. And let’s face it, things haven’t always been so rosy under his control. The change from Ciskowski to McClay has clearly been a positive one as McClay’s now had five full seasons since taking over the draft process. In those drafts, the team has gotten 14 starters, five of which have earned All-Pro honors. Five drafts...five All-Pro. That’s phenomenal. Then there’s the concern from the loss of Juliff and Abrams. Both those guys were poached from the Cowboys because their skills were in high demand. While teams can’t seem to pry McClay from Dallas, they are going after the next best thing - his collaborators. It’s unclear what type of effect this will have on the team’s scouting ability going forward. Will it hurt their draft process? They can’t keep hitting it out of the park forever, right? Or is it possible that things get even better? McClay doesn’t seem too worried. The Cowboys do have a process of how they go about building their team, and it’s hard to argue with the results. Committing to doing more of the same that has helped bring them success certainly seems like a positive thing.Only time will tell what type of impact this will have. The Cowboys have done a remarkable job acquiring talent, so it’s never ideal to rock the boat. But these things happen and it will be interesting to see how things unfold in the future. This organization has built something great, and it’s sustainable as long as the team continues to draft well. There’s no reason to believe that won’t keep happening, but losing three key people in the scouting department is something to pay attention to. This year’s schedule for Indianapolis is the first time since the 2015 season that they’ll face off against the NFC South, and the first time since 2011 that they’ll play in New Orleans and Tampa Bay.The Colts hold a combined 192-179 record against their upcoming opponents, with all-time losing records to seven teams: the Steelers, Saints, Chargers, Raiders, Dolphins, Broncos and Panthers.Week 1: Colts @ ChargersWhen: Sept. 8, 4:05 p.m.All-time record: Chargers 18, Colts 11Latest result: Colts 26, Chargers 22 (9/25/16)Breakdown: The Chargers and the Colts, before getting bounced in the second round of the playoffs last year, were two of the hottest teams in the league — ending the regular season with 20 wins in 23 contests. Philip Rivers is still running the ship in Los Angeles, but the real matchup to watch is on the line of scrimmage. EDGE rushers Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram are some of the best in all of football, and the Colts firmly placed themselves as one of the best (if not THE best) offensive line in the NFL.Week 2: Colts @ TitansWhen: Sept. 15, 1:00 p.m.All-time record: Colts 33, Titans 16Latest result: Colts 33, Titans 17 (12/30/18)Breakdown: The Colts are 13-2 in their last 15 games against Tennessee, with the Titans two wins coming in the 2017 season. Quarterback Marcus Mariota has still yet to play all 16 games of a regular season, and backup (maybe eventual starter?) Ryan Tannehill has 19-21 record in his last three seasons. Head coach Mike Vrabel predicates his teams around physicality, led by a strong run game — the seventh best last season — led by Derrick Henry. The only problem? Last year Indianapolis Colts Margus Hunt Jersey , the Colts held Tennessee to over 25 yards below their normal average. There weren’t any drastic changes for them this offseason, hinting at similar results in 2019.Week 3: Falcons @ ColtsWhen: Sept. 22, 1:00 p.m.All-time record: Colts 14, Falcons 2Latest result: Colts 24, Falcons 21 (11/22/15)Breakdown: A slew of injuries hurt a very talented Falcons team in 2018, with key players like Devonta Freeman, Deion Jones, Andy Levitre and Keanu Neal playing a combined 11 games. Amid those ailments, the Falcons surrender 384.5 yards per game — 28th in the NFL — while the offense still managed the sixth-highest per-game average with 389.1 yards per game. Week 4: Raiders @ ColtsWhen: Sept. 29, 1:00 p.m.All-time record: Raiders 9, Colts 8Latest result: Colts 42, Raiders 28 (10/28/18)Breakdown: Oakland was one of the worst two-way teams in 2018 — scoring 18.1 points per game and allowing a league-high 29.2 — but there are some familiar faces now in the silver and black. Antonio Brown, as dramatic as he may be, has two games with over 100 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in his five games against Indy. This will be a big game for Derek Carr too, as he takes on the same team that ended his 2016 season and broke his leg.Week 5: Colts @ Chiefs (SNF)When: Oct. 6, 8:20 p.m.All-time record: Colts 16, Chiefs 10Latest result: Chiefs 31, Colts 13 (1/12/19)Breakdown: Indy gets to face off against the team that knocked them out of the playoffs just a few months back, but there’ve been a lot of changes in Kansas City since then — especially on defense. Eric Berry, Dee Ford and Justin Houston have been replaced by Emmanuel Ogbah, Alex Okafor and Tyrann Mathieu. Oh, and Houston? He now wears No. 99 for the blue and white after eight years with the Chiefs. All in all, this should be one of the premiere AFC matchups for the next 5+ years. With two top-tier quarterbacks and brilliant offensive schemes, these are two of the best teams in the league.Week 6: BYE WEEKWeek 7: Texans @ ColtsWhen: Oct. 20, 1:00 p.m.All-time record: Colts 27 Womens Margus Hunt 2019 Jersey , Texans 8Latest result: Colts 21, Texans 7 (1/05/19)Breakdown: The Colts will look to extend their win-steak against the Texans to three, after beating them in Week 14 before knocking them out of the wild card round in the playoffs. Houston has stars — like J.J. Watt, Deshaun Watson, DeAndre Hopkins and Jadeveon Clowney — but several holes outside of them on the back end of their defense and on the offensive line. New acquisition Justin Houston and incoming rookies on the defensive line should have a fun time penetrating the O-line to bring down the elusive Watson.Week 8: Broncos @ ColtsWhen: Oct. 27, 4:25 p.m.All-time record: Broncos 14, Colts 13Latest result: Broncos 25, Colts 13 (12/14/17)Breakdown: While it’s unsure who’ll be under center this upcoming season, whether its veteran Joe Flacco or a rookie like Drew Lock from Missouri, the Broncos are a prime candidate to see much improvement from their 6-10 showing in 2018. New head coach Vic Fangio will have unlimited weapons on defense to throw in the way of the Indy offense, including 2018 rookie Bradley Chubb — who was picked one slot before the Colts took All-Pro lineman Quenton Nelson.Week 9: Colts @ SteelersWhen: Nov. 3, 1:00 p.m.All-time record: Steelers 24, Colts 6Latest result: Steelers 20, Colts 17 (11/12/17)Breakdown: Man, the Steelers have really beaten up the Colts over the years. The Colts haven’t won in Heinz Field since 2008, and have dropped their last five decisions to the black and yellow. However, this is a different Pittsburgh team. Ben Roethlisberger is still the quarterback and Mike Tomlin is still the head coach, but they’ll be without running back Le’Veon Bell and wide receiver Antonio Brown for the first time since 2009. With a new supporting cast on offense, it’ll be interesting to see how the 37-year-old quarterback handles more pressure in his 16th season.Week 10: Dolphins @ ColtsWhen: Nov. 10, 4:05 p.m.All-time record: Dolphins 47, Colts 27Latest result: Colts 27, Dolphins 24 (11/25/18)Breakdown: A new era is underway in Miami with Brian Flores taking over the helm. The 2019 season should be a wash for the Dolphins, as they’ll most likely aim to get one of the top picks in the 2020 draft. Ryan Fitzpatrick is on his third AFC East team (if only he could make his way to New England) and the weapons are rare around him. Kenyan Drake will aim for a bounce-back season, but this team had the second-worst offense in 2018 and didn’t make enough moves to warrant much praise.Week 11: Jaguars @ ColtsWhen: Nov. 17, 1:00 p.m.All-time record: Colts 23 Cheap Margus Hunt Youth Jersey , Jaguars 13Latest result: Jaguars 6, Colts 0 (12/02/18)Breakdown: Jacksonville enters 2019 with a new quarterback in Nick Foles, but the same stud defense on the opposite side of the field. The Jags were the fifth-best in yards allowed per game, and had the fourth-best scoring defense at 19.8 points per game. This will be another fun battle in the trenches, seeing the likes of Calais Campbell and Yannick Ngakoue take on Quenton Nelson and Ryan Kelly.Week 12: Colts @ Texans (TNF)When: Nov. 21, 8:20 p.m.Week 13: Titans @ ColtsWhen: Dec. 1, 1:00 p.m.Week 14: Colts @ BuccaneersWhen: Dec. 8, 1:00 p.m.All-time record: Colts 8, Buccaneers 5Latest result: Colts 25, Buccaneers 12 (11/29/15)Breakdown: It’s tough to get a good read on the Bucs heading into the new year. They had the second-worst scoring defense in 2018, and some of their best offensive performances came with Ryan Fitzpatrick under center. Jameis Winston seems to be on his last (crab)leg this year, and veteran head coach Bruce Arians will try and bring his quarterback-whisperer success to Tampa to salvage his young career. They have stars at various positions, but really lack the depth to be taken as a serious threat this upcoming year.Week 15: Colts @ Saints (MNF)When: Dec. 16, 8:15 p.m.All-time record: Saints 8, Colts 5Latest result: Saints 27, Colts 21 (10/25/15)Breakdown: It’s been nine years since Super Bowl XLIV and, while both teams have had their ups and downs, the Colts and Saints enter 2019 as two of the more impressive teams in football. Drew Brees is still kicking it at age 40, and Sean Payton has one of the best offensive gamelans in football. While Indy is already familiar with Brees and Payton, this will be its first look at running back Alvin Kamara and wideout Michael Thomas — two of the younger stars at their respective position. John Cominsky at the 2019 combineBrian Spurlock-USA TODAY SportsIf you like underdogs, Charleston’s John Cominsky is your man. The Browns will make the defense the focus of their draft and need new blood to push the starters to their limits and also to provide quality backups to come in and take some plays away. Cominsky is just that player. And considering the strength of the upcoming draft class at several positions of need on the Browns’ defense Womens Myles Garrett Jersey , which makes a lot of sense. This year is an exceptional draft for defensive end/EDGE rushers. The Browns need help and depth at all levels of their defense especially now that former second-rounder Emmanuel Ogbah has been traded. That leaves Chris Smith, Chad Thomas, Lenny Jones and Anthony Zettel as backups to starters Myles Garrett and Vernon Olivier. Out of that group, Smith seems to have the most upside. What the Browns would love to do is have three quality DEs and three DTs ready to play at all times. Cominsky could fall right into Oghah’s vacated substitution spot. The fourth-round at the number 119 slot (17th in this round) is an ideal place to land a player who will need some seasoning and structure in order to transition to the pro level. Cominsky is a high-motor guy without any quit and had over 200 tackles for his school. He is very quick but might need more pounds and bulk for NFL-caliber offensive linemen. He could become a special teams demon until he learns the EDGE position and eventually transitions into a regular contributor.

The Browns were just a kick away.Well Trey Hendrickson Jersey 2019 , maybe a few kicks, not to mention a defensive penalty that revived a New Orleans touchdown drive, as well as an interception that set up another Saints score in the waning minutes.Even with all those critical, untimely mistakes, Cleveland could have forced overtime if Zane Gonzalez had managed to compartmentalize an earlier missed field goal — and two missed extra points — when he lined up for a 52-yard try in the final seconds.Gonzalez pushed it wide, and the Browns fell 21-18 in New Orleans to extend their winless streak to 19 games.Yet the performance also demonstrated how close Cleveland is to breaking back into the win column."Our players, as I told them afterward, 'There is a good team in that (locker) room,'" Browns coach Hue Jackson said. "There is no doubt in my mind about that."We've just got to make sure we are doing the right things all of the time to give us a chance."The Browns head into Week 3 with one loss and one tie, but with reasons for optimism. They are just a few plays away from being 2-0. In Week 1, they set up for a winning field goal in overtime against Pittsburgh , only to have it blocked. The Saints (1-1), meanwhile, are evidently unsatisfied with how their season has begun. Their defense struggled in a 48-40 Week 1 loss to Tampa Bay. In Week 2, the offense managed only a field goal through three quarters and change against Cleveland before rallying for 18 points inside the final nine minutes. If not for safety Marcus Williams' interception of Tyrod Taylor with just less than five minutes to go, the Saints might have become the first team to lose to the Browns since Dec. 24, 2016."I'm encouraged we won, but let's not kid ourselves," Saints coach Sean Payton said. "We have a lot to do to improve."Some story lines emerging from New Orleans' narrow triumph over Cleveland:WILLIAMS' WAYGregg Williams White Sheldon Rankins Jersey , a the Saints defensive coordinator from 2009-11, was caught on the HBO series Hard Knocks boasting that he turned down numerous jobs to take over as defensive coordinator in Cleveland. Now everyone can see why.Drew Brees and the Saints had their hands full with a Browns defense that forced two turnovers — fumbled by receivers Michael Thomas and Ted Ginn Jr. — and came up with three drive-stalling sacks. Tackle Larry Ogunjobi sacked Brees twice, blitzing cornerback T.J. Carrie got to Brees on another third down, and Ogunjobi would have had another in the fourth quarter if not for Derrick Kindred's illegal contact penalty."He did a good job," Payton said of Williams. "They always give you challenging looks. ... They have some good young players that played well."ONE-TWO PUNCHThrough Week 2, it's apparent that the Saints are relying heavily on Thomas and running back Alvin Kamara to carry the load.Thomas had 12 catches for 89 yards and both Saints touchdowns, giving him 28 catches for 269 yards and three TDs through two games."With a player of my caliber and the guy behind center and the offensive line and all the tools around me, I'm going to catch a lot of footballs. I'm going to get open. I've been doing that my whole life," Thomas said. "So now what can I do to add value to this team and take the next step?"Kamara had 99 yards from scrimmage, including 53 receiving on six catches to go with his successful run on a 2-point conversion. Kamara now has 240 yards from scrimmage and three TDs.BIG-PLAY CALLOWAYA day after the Browns announced they were formally giving up on deep-threat receiver Josh Gordon, rookie Antonio Calloway offered evidence he could grow into a similar type of play maker, racing past the Saints' secondary for a 47-yard touchdown catch from Taylor on a fourth-and-5 play with 1:16 to go. It could have been a go-ahead score, but Gonzalez hooked the extra point wide left."Those are plays we truly believe he can make," Jackson said.HILL COUNTRYPerhaps third-string QB is the wrong title for New Orleans' Taysom Hill. He became a regular on special teams late last season on kick coverage. Against Cleveland, he debuted as kickoff returner — and there's every reason to believe he'll get another shot. After Cleveland's first three kickoffs went for touchbacks, Hill decided to return the fourth from 7 yards deep in the end zone. He burst through a seam and sprinted out of the Saints 40 before being tripped up."It was a good return," Payton said. "He's explosive." Drew Brees used one hand to hold his helmet and the other to wipe away tears. It was the first time the 39-year-old Brees had ever walked off of a football field knowing that he had thrown for more yards than any quarterback in the history of the NFL. And the Saints quarterback couldn’t help but be overwhelmed by thoughts of all the work and people who helped him get to such an esteemed point.“I broke down and cried a bunch of times this week, just thinking about so many things,” Brees said after his latest NFL-record-setting performance in a 43-19 victory over the Washington Redskins on Monday night. “I think about all the people who have influenced my life in such a powerful way Sheldon Rankins Jersey 2019 , and there were so many of those people that were here tonight, that witnessed this, so many people that I spoke to this week that are a part of this, and so many other still that I have yet to have a chance to reach out to.“Two of the people who had biggest influence on my football career certainly and on who I am, growing up, are my mom and my grandfather and they’re in heaven. They’re no longer here, but I know that they would be proud,” Brees added. The 6-foot Brees was lightly recruited out of high school in Austin, Texas, considered undersized for a quarterback at the major college and pro levels. He led Purdue to the Rose Bowl and was a Heisman Trophy finalist, but no NFL team picked him in the first round of the 2001 draft. Brees’ first team, the Chargers, discarded him after a shoulder injury in 2005, setting the stage for his arrival in New Orleans and his emergence as one of the most prolific quarterbacks ever. His latest outing would have been memorable even if no records were in play. He completed 26 of 29 passes for 363 yards and three TDs. His second touchdown was a 62-yarder to rookie Tre’Quan Smith that put Brees ahead of Peyton Manning’s previous all-time mark of 71,940 yards.Moments after that touchdown, the NFL halted the game for about three minutes so the ball could be handed over to Pro Football Hall of Fame officials. Brees was able to embrace his family and coach Sean Payton on the sideline.“It’s a beautiful thing, a beautiful experience for all of us,” said Saint left tackle Terron Armstead, the first teammate to hug Brees after the record-setting completion to Smith. “The energy in the stadium at that time White Sheldon Rankins Jersey , I thought he was going to cry, really. He’s a tough dude, he probably didn’t want to show that side. But it was an amazing experience.”Some other things to know about the Saints’ victory over Washington:RISING ROOKIESmith is a third-round draft choice out of Central Florida who, in his fifth NFL game, became immortalized for his role in Brees’ record-breaking night.“Now I get to go down in history with somebody famous in (future) Hall of Famer Drew Brees,” Smith said. “I’m glad it happened to me.”And Brees is glad to see Smith emerging into the player he showed signs of becoming in training camp. Smith finished with three catches for 111 yards and two touchdowns.“This kid could really help us, could really be a big part of our offense,” Brees said.NON-STAR TREATMENTCornerback Josh Norman is supposed to be the centerpiece for a Redskins defense that had allowed the fewest passing yards in the NFL entering the game against the Saints, but he struggled just as much as the rest of the secondary as Drew Brees threw for 250 yards in the first half.Coach Jay Gruden even benched Norman for the first series of the second half, but the move backfired when his replacement, Greg Stroman, was beaten for an easy touchdown by Smith. Norman returned on the next series.INGRAM’S BACKMark Ingram wasted little time putting his imprint on his first game back from a four-game suspension for use of a banned substance. He scored two of the Saints first three touchdowns on short runs and finished with 53 yards rushing and 20 receiving.“Just an exciting moment just being back with my teammates,” Ingram said. “Just a lot of pent-up emotion, being away from my guys, being able to come back out here. I don’t take anything about this game for granted.”PETERING OUTVeteran running back Adrian Peterson was looking resurgent coming into a game against the team that traded him away early last season. He left the Superdome with a shoulder strain and was scheduled for an MRI.Before his injury, Peterson gained 36 yards on two catches out of the backfield, but had only 6 yards rushing on four carries.___

Today’s player interview is Toledo wide receiver Diontae Johnson. The Colts could use a slot receiver along with a special teams ace and Johnson fits the bill in both of those areas. The interview will be towards the bottom of the page T.Y. Hilton Jersey 2019 , as he interviewed exclusively with Stampede Blue to talk about playing alongside Cody Thompson and Jon’Vea Johnson, what makes a great route runner, and how he’d like playing with Andrew Luck and T.Y Hilton.BackgroundSize:5’10” 183 poundsMeasurables: 40 Time: 4.53 / 10-yard split: 1.59 / Bench Reps: 15 Reps / Vertical Jump: 33.5 inches / Broad Jump: 125 inches / 3-Cone: 7.09 secondsCareer Stats:135 catches for 2,235 yards and 23 touchdowns. 78 kick returns for 1,826 yards and 2 touchdowns. 17 punt returns for 343 yards and 2 touchdowns in his career. Round Projection:Rounds 4-5Fit with the Colts:Johnson may not have the greatest size or athleticism, but he makes up for that with his versatility and nuance. Johnson is an excellent route runner who excels at winning at the line of scrimmage and working his way open. He is also a dangerous return man, and would give the Colts a much needed boost in this area. If the Colts want to upgrade their slot from Chester Rogers, grabbing Diontae Johnson in the middle rounds would be a great investment. Film Room:The first things that pop are Johnson's release at the line and his route running. He is really advanced in these two areas of his game.Johnson has the deep play ability and after the catch ability to be a big play threat, as well. The return game, however, is where Johnson truly shines. He could be one of the best returners in the league one day. Johnson was one of the top returners in college.InterviewZH: You were a talented player in Florida during your high school career. What went into the decision to attend Toledo?DJ: Coach Candle was the coach at the time, and he came and found me at one of my games that I did real well. I didn’t really know much about the school until I went on a visit. I liked the area and the coaching staff and I felt like it was the right place for me to be at. Toledo stuck with me through everything and stuff like that.ZH: You played alongside two talented receivers in Cody Thompson and Jon’Vea Johnson at Toledo. What was it like to be in such a talented receiver room?DJ: It was good, because we were able to learn from each other. Obviously, we have different playing styles, but just to be able to sit in the film room with them and pick each other’s brains and let each other know what we did wrong here and there was just a good experience. Not too many people get that experience, to be apart of something like that White Pat McAfee Jersey , and it was just great, man.ZH: Would you say that you guys were the best receiving trio in college football?DJ: Yeah no doubt, hands down. The numbers we put up and things we did as a group, I feel like nobody is ever going to do what we did again in my opinion. ZH: Where would you say is your best fit in the NFL? In the slot or on the outside?DJ: I would say slot because of the matchup mismatches and what not. I can play both in or out because I’m so versatile and I have the ability to do just about anything my coaches ask of me.ZH: You were an outstanding special teams player in your career. Do you think that is an area that you can immediately contribute at in the NFL? DJ: Oh yeah, certainly. Just what I can do with the ball in my hand and being able to play kick returner or punt returner gives me a boost for teams. A lot of teams are really high on me because of my ability as a receiver, and that ability to play special teams. I feel like I can come in and help a team out real fast on special teams, and that is really what I want to play. After that, if I get a chance to play offense, I can show what I can do on that side of the ball as well.ZH: I like to ask this of a lot of receivers I interview. What is the key to be a great route runner? What makes a guy elite in this area of their game?DJ: You gotta be able to win at the line of scrimmage. That is where the play starts. If you can’t win at the line of scrimmage, then the route is dead. Obviously, you gotta be able to run every route in the route tree and have good hands, but you gotta win at the line of scrimmage, because that is where the play starts at. ZH: Who in the NFL do you model your game after/compare yourself to?DJ: I watch Stefon Diggs a lot. Just the way he comes out of his breaks, and gets off of the line, and catches the ball in traffic, I really try to model my game after him. Being that we are the same height— he weighs a little bit more than me— I would say that our games are pretty similar and I compare myself to him.ZH: These last two are going to be Colts centered questions. First Pat McAfee Jersey 2019 , how cool would it be to get the chance to play alongside T.Y Hilton and Andrew Luck if Indy were the team that drafted you?DJ: It would be a great experience for me. Just being able to play with those type of guys who have had great success would give me a chance to soak up as much information as I can to better my game. The ability to learn under T.Y Hilton— that is another one of the receivers I model my game after— and playing with a guy like that would really help me. To learn from a guy like that and take the little techniques he has and apply it to my game would just be awesome. ZH: What is my team getting if they spend a draft pick on you in this draft? What separates you from other receivers in this class?DJ: Just my versatility. I can play both in and out and even special teams too. A lot of receivers in this draft don’t play special teams, they are just receivers. I feel like I have the upper hand on them because I can play special teams and receiver. There aren’t too many people that can do things with the ball in their hand like I can and make people miss like I can. I’m just being humble about it but I just feel like I’m better than anybody they compare me to. Sam Darnold remembers sitting at home in Southern California watching Andrew Luck sling the football all over the fields of the Pac-12 for Stanford. The young quarterback was a freshman in high school in 2012, when Luck became the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft and the future of the franchise for the Indianapolis Colts.More than six years later, Darnold is in the same spot with the New York Jets. And, now he'll get a chance to face Luck on the same field Sunday."From watching him in the past, first of all he's such a bright dude in general and you can see how he takes that to the football field," Darnold said Wednesday. "So it's really cool to be able to watch him play."While Luck is 29 and Darnold just 21, there are some comparisons when it comes to poise and calm under fire that are strong attributes of both quarterbacks. They are also the respective faces of their franchises, and Darnold has seen Luck deal with that responsibility over the past few years."To see him get drafted and to see what he's been able to do for the Colts and to see what he's been able to do for that organization, yeah, he's been banged up, but he's a great player," Darnold said."We know our defense has their hands full, but it's also going to be a dogfight for us, too, because they have a great defense. We're really looking forward to the challenge though White Peyton Manning Jersey , knowing how great of a quarterback Andrew is."Luck missed all of last season with a shoulder injury and has been thrust right back into running the pass-heavy offense of the Colts . The veteran threw 121 passes in a five-day span last week in losses to Houston and New England, appearing at times as though he never missed a beat. The Colts quarterback is also known to be able to make plays with his feet while playing smartly — characteristics that have some comparing Darnold to Luck."Yeah, he definitely has more years of experience, but I can see it," Darnold said. "He likes to extend plays, but at the same time he likes to just hang in there and deliver the ball on time and accurately. Yeah, I can see some similarities."Colts coach Frank Reich knows a lot about the quarterback position, having played in the NFL for 14 years — many of them as the backup to Jim Kelly in Buffalo. He, too, sees some of the same things others have been saying about Darnold and Luck."It feels like to me a little bit of the same personality," Reich told reporters during a conference call. "It's not too big from the standpoint of not only intellectually, but just for lack of a better word 'emotionally.' It's not too big. The game's not too big."And physically, being able to make the throws and some of the athleticism."Darnold didn't necessarily model himself after Luck, but he saw plenty of the former Cardinal quarterback playing his USC Trojans while he was growing up."That was when (Jim) Harbaugh was doing his thing with Andrew," Darnold said. "I got to watch him a lot and how they dominated for a little bit up there in the north. It was really fun to watch and really cool to see Andrew Luck dissect defenses at such a young age. It was really fun and kind of inspiring to me."Darnold has had an up-and-down first five games of his NFL career. He has seven touchdown passes and six interceptions, and his 55.7 percent completion rate and 77.2 quarterback rating rank near the bottom of the league. But Peyton Manning Jersey 2019 , both coach Todd Bowles and offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates have been happy with Darnold's consistent progress during the early part of the season. In New York's 34-16 win over Denver last Sunday , Darnold threw three TD passes, including a perfectly placed 76-yard TD toss to Robby Anderson that showed the young QB can stretch the field a little, too."I feel good every week," Darnold said. "For me, especially at this position and at this high of a level, you've just got to really just stay the course."NOTES: RB Isaiah Crowell did not practice because of what Bowles said was a "sore" ankle. Crowell was selected as the AFC's offensive player of the week after rushing for a franchise-record 219 yards last Sunday. ... CB Trumaine Johnson (quadriceps), CB Buster Skrine (concussion), WR-KR Andre Roberts (elbow/foot), C Spencer Long (knee/finger), LB Kevin Pierre-Louis (foot) and WR Charone Peake (hamstring) also didn't practice. Bowles ruled out Peake for the game against Indianapolis. ... WR Terrelle Pryor (groin), S Marcus Maye (ankle/foot) and TE Neal Sterling (concussion) were all limited.

Both players, and Rogers, are able to sign offer sheets from other teams. However, the Colts would be entitled to a second-round pick in return should they decide not to match any signed offer sheet. The Colts could have elected to use the cheaper original round tender worth $2.025 million on either Farley or Boehm. Odds taken from Odds Shark.Minnesota (-10) vs. ArizonaThe Vikings aren’t going to lose to a rookie QB at home again Youth Greg Joseph Jersey , but I do think Rosen & Co. keep this one within striking distance.<em>Pick: Arizona (+10)</em>Houston (-10) vs. BuffaloThe Texans have resurrected their season with back-to-back overtime wins, and Deshaun Watson seems to be slowly rounding back into form. He has to find a way to protect himself a little better, though.<em>Pick: Houston (-10)</em>Carolina (-1) vs. WashingtonThe Redskins are coming off a short week after getting blown out on Monday night, and the Panthers are getting both Greg Olsen and Thomas Davis back. The Panthers take it.<em>Pick: Carolina (-1)</em>Chicago (-4) vs. MiamiIn that heat & humidity in Florida, Miami keeps it close.<em>Pick: Miami (+4)</em>New York Jets (-2.5) vs. IndianapolisThe Jets haven’t won back-to-back games in just about a year. Behind their running game and with some inspiration from the ’68 team that they are honoring this weekend, they take it.<em>Pick: New York Jets (-2.5)</em>Cleveland (-1.5) vs. Los Angeles ChargersI like Cleveland Orange Chris Hubbard Jersey , but I like this Chargers team more. They avenge the 2016 loss in Cleveland by taking this one.<em>Pick: Los Angeles Chargers (+1.5)</em>Cincinnati (-1.5) vs. PittsburghWhenever these two get together, there’s going to be some nastiness involved. The Bengals have lost their last 6 games to the Steelers, but that ends here.<em>Pick: Cincinnati (-1.5)</em>Seattle (-2.5) vs. OaklandGames played in London are always a crapshoot, but the Raiders have so many question marks.<em>Pick: Seattle (-2.5)</em>Atlanta (-3) vs. Tampa BayMatt Ryan should have a monster day as Tampa Bay continues their fall back down to Earth.<em>Pick: Atlanta (-3)</em>Los Angeles Rams (-7) vs. Denver The Rams are the best team in football.<em>Pick: Los Angeles Rams (-7)</em>Baltimore (-2.5) vs. TennesseeThe Titans have quietly gone 12-1 in their last 13 home games, and the Ravens are playing their 3rd straight road game.<em>Pick: Tennessee (+2.5)</em>Jacksonville (-3) vs. DallasIf you like offense…. don’t tune in to this one.<em>Pick: Jacksonville (-3)</em>New England (-3.5) vs. Kansas CityIf Patrick Mahomes & the Chiefs pull this one out, I will be very Chris Hubbard Jersey 2019 , very impressed. That being said, Brady & Co. deserve the benefit of the doubt.<em>Pick: New England (-3.5)</em>Green Bay (-9.5) vs. San FranciscoThe Packers have had a really odd start to their season. Both of these teams haven’t shown much, but the home team <em>needs</em> this one. After next week’s bye, they play back-to-back road games against the Rams and Patriots. Ouch.<em>Pick: Green Bay (-9.5)</em> When Hue Jackson and Todd Haley got fired, the Browns apparently got rid of a solid chunk of the playbook along with them. In week 10 against the Atlanta Falcons, interim offensive coordinator Freddie Kitchens showcased a more streamlined Orange Terrance Mitchell Jersey , pared-down playbook. The Browns ran exclusively zone-blocked running plays against the Falcons (with the exception of Draw plays), and the result was a team that was better prepared to execute. By focusing on one blocking pattern, the Browns were able to eliminate miscommunications and get RB Nick Chubb to daylight.Another benefit of streamlining the running game was that the Browns were able to hit on some very effective play action fakes, including a screen pass to Chubb that went for a touchdown. Here’s my breakdown of Chubb’s TDs:Here’s an old article explaining why focusing on the zone running game is a good idea, and here’s another explaining a little more about Outside Zone.
