Another former Cardinal could help the Bucs transition to their new schemes and coaches"WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections 2016 NFL DraftInjuriesFree AgencyGame FilmFree Agent Spotlight: DE Markus GoldenNew Jacquizz Rodgers Jersey ,3commentsAnother former Cardinal could help the Bucs transition to their new schemes and coachesESTShareTweetShareShareFree Agent Spotlight: DE Markus GoldenBrace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY SportsNew Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator Todd Bowles was in his first season as the New York Jets’ head coach when Markus Golden was drafted to the Arizona Cardinals. Now, five seasons later the two who have success under Bruce Arians in common may get the chance to rekindle that success together.Markus Golden’s CareerGolden was drafted in the same class as Jameis Winston, Donovan Smith, Ali Marpet, and Kwon Alexander among others. As a second-round draft pick of the Arizona Cardinals, Golden was called was praised for his work ethic as one of his strengths by Mike Mayock coming out of Missouri.Playing in Arizona’s 3-4 base defense for his first three years, Golden totaled 31 tackles and four sacks in his rookie season. Then, in his second year, he jumped up to 51 tackles and 12.5 sacks. He was on a similar tackle pace when he suffered a torn ACL costing him 12 games in 2017 and played in eleven under the Cardinals’ 4-3 re-birth experiment in 2018.Now Adarius Glanton Jersey , there’s potential he’ll be looking for a new start, and where better than with people he found his old success and growth with? But do the Bucs need him?Why The Buccaneers Need HimOf course they do! Bottom line, Tampa Bay needs a pass rush. They have a pass rusher in Jason Pierre-Paul, but outside of JPP, there just isn’t anyone you can point to and say they bring pass rushing heat off the edge on every single play.Nobody knows right now if Golden can ever get back on the track he was on when he tore his ACL. Coming back from the injury into a system he had no familiarity with certainly didn’t help the comeback last season. If he comes to Tampa Bay it’ll be on a team friendly deal which helps with Jason Licht’s current cap situation, and despite the fact he’s never played for Todd Bowles, the scheme will be familiar. How Much Will Golden Cost? The easy answer? Not much.If a team was paying for confidence, he’d cost a lot. At the end of last season, he told azcardinals.com Brent Grimes Jersey ,With defensive ends on the market like Ezekiel Ansah, Dante Fowler Jr. and others, Golden is going to find the market is not in favor of the players, but the teams.Even with a premium likely paid for pass rush, he’s going to land in the tier which doesn’t get to cash in as much on this fact. He’ll have suitors though. It’s really a matter of whether or not he wants to wait and see if his offers get better following the NFL Draft, or if he accepts his value and wants to get to work sooner rather than later. Will It Happen? It most certainly could. Again, this is a young man who had his best years in some of Bruce Arians’ best years in Arizona. Whenever a new coach comes in, he’s going to have his eye on guys who have experience winning with him as they represent not only a player, but as guaranteed buy-in who can help secure locker room support early. If Mayock was right Cameron Brate Jersey , and Golden’s work ethic is truly one of his strengths, then I have no doubt Arians and Bowles would be interested in bringing him on as they look for pieces to maneuver within their defense. The low price tag he should garner will only help this. The Saints opened the season with a 48-40 loss to the Buccaneers and wide receiver Mike Evans had a big hand in Tampa’s success.Evans caught seven passes for 147 yards and a touchdown and four of those catches and the touchdown came when he was matched up against Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore. Lattimore said on Thursday that he’s looking for better results this weekend and said he’d feel the same way against any receiver.Evans’ history with Lattimore extends past Week One of this season, however. Evans was suspended for a game last season after decking Lattimore from behind while the cornerback was exchanging words with Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston. Lattimore admitted that remains on his mind when a game against Evans is on the horizon.“Of course I’m thinking about it the whole time, just being a man. You can’t come back from doing something like that, especially when I don’t even know you in the first place,” Lattimore said, via ESPN.com. “I ain’t gonna say I hate him or nothing like that, but it is what it is.”Lattimore’s performances have been better since the opener and getting a leg up on Evans this weekend will help the Saints make their final push toward a division title.

I think the people who know me, know who I am. And I’m going to keep my opinions to myself from now on.”Bosa could end up in San Francisco, one of the most liberal cities in the country, if the Cardinals select Kyler Murray as many (most?) expect. The former Ohio State pass rusher seems just fine going to San Francisco if that’s how it works out.His brother, Joey, plays in Los Angeles for the Chargers.Nick Bosa took a pre-draft visit to Santa Clara and hit it off with the coaches and front office.“Just all really, really good dudes,” Bosa said. “We had dinner and sat around and talked, man to man. Everything from altering the overtime rules to automatically reviewing plays that are short of the yardage to gain on fourth down. There were plenty of proposals that were ambitious, to put it mildly. That created some good discussion on what rules or sequences that could and should be changed. With the amount of technology in today’s world, the NFL is still in the stone age with regards to penalties. I understand “that’s always how things have been”, but it just seems like in 2019 you should have more automated processes. It feels like it could clean the game up more.My proposalAs far as what I would propose, it’s tough to narrow it down to just one. I’m not a big fan of the “Joe Flacco 50-yard throw it up play” offense. I’d alter the pass interference rules in some way. It wouldn’t bother me at all to see it changed to 15 yards. Your instance reaction is “what if a player is beat deep? He would just tackle the receiver.” How often do we see that happen in college football? In the NFL when a player gets beat on a double move by a wide receiver, how often do you see the defensive back trip/grab/tackle the receiver? That just doesn’t happen. Players aren’t wired like that. Also, the odds that they’ll be in position to even make the play down the field are slim. It would happen, of course. I don’t believe it would happen as often as we’d think. There should at least be some sort of middle ground here, though.Full-time refs? There are a couple other ones that drive me crazy. Seeing a punter flop his way into a first down gets me every time. Tough to blame the punter, though. Those are the rules. Everyone else would do the same if they were in the punters shoes. Simply another manual process that can be manipulated. What happened to the New Orleans Saints last year in the playoffs on that non pass interference call is a prime example of the flaws manual processes present. Getting full-time referees would help, too. What are some rules that you would change? Or some that you know won’t change but still drive you crazy?

The Buffalo Bills narrowly put away the Tennessee Titans Youth Cody Ford Jersey , 13-12, on the back of an outstanding performance from their their defense. The Bills kept the Titans behind schedule and controlled the line of scrimmage with a run-obsessed gameplan, finishing with a game-winning field goal by Stephen Hauschka as the game expired. The Buffalo defense suffocated the Titans for most of the day. They had three turnovers, kept Tennessee out of the end zone, and limited the Titans to 221 yards of total offense. Marcus Mariota was 14-of-26 for 129 yards (5.0 yards per attempt) and an interception. The Titans runners combined for 100 yards on 25 carries. Kyle Williams and Jerry Hughes each had a sack. Hughes would’ve had two, but he shoved Mariota to try and avoid a roughing the passer penalty, which backfired when Mariota didn’t lose his balance. The Bills treated Josh Allen with kid gloves in this game, running at more than a 2:1 ratio compared to his passes. It was a good idea too, considering Tennessee’s stout defense. The Bills really struggled to break big plays, with their longest result of the day a 16 yard run from LeSean McCoy. Allen scored a rushing touchdowns and generally made smart decisions most of the day, but rarely attempted to attack the Titans defense. He threw for fewer than five yards per attempt, and though it wasn’t his fault Womens Cody Ford Jersey , Allen had an interception bounce off Andre Holmes into the hands of a defender. The big plays weren’t available, but that was enough for today’s win.The other side of Buffalo’s treatment was their stronger commitment to LeSean McCoy and the running game. McCoy had more rushing attempts in this game than he had in the rest of the season to this point. the Titans defense mostly contained him, but he still produced more than 100 all-purpose yards. The Bills finished with an unsexy 43 carries for 144 yards and a Josh Allen touchdown. At 2-3, the Bills climbed out of the AFC’s basement, and preserved Sean McDermott’s winning record for at least two more weeks (the head coach is now 11-10 with the Buffalo Bills).NotesNew waiver addition Jordan Phillips had a good day, in on two tackles for loss.Rookie Taron Johnson netted his first career interception.Rookie Tremaine Edmunds had his second career forced fumble. Shaq Lawson and Jerry Hughes also forced fumbles on the day, and the Bills recovered two of those three.Corey Bojorquez appeared to injure his upper arm, but it didn’t impact his punting. He downed his next kick within the five yard line.Ray-Ray McCloud all but iced the game on his second career catch with a bubble screen for a first down at the end of the fourth quarter. This was the first game-winning drive of Josh Allen’s career.Bojorquez was the only notable injury to come out of this game in real time. Gettleman was right! Gettleman was wrong! Gettleman got snookered! Gettleman is lying to cover up the reality that he could have gotten Jones with the 17th pick! So, let’s toss another opinion onto the pile. ESPN draft guru Mel Kiper, appearing on the Michael Kay Show this week Womens Christopher Slayton Jersey , said that if Gettleman believed Jones was the guy he wanted — which he obviously did — then picking him at No. 6 was the right move.Gettleman has been criticized over his remarks about three series at the Senior Bowl convincing him, insisting that he knows two teams would have selected Jones ahead of 17 had he waited and for not — in the minds of some — maximizing the value of the Giants’ picks at Nos. 6 and 17.Kiper’s advice to the Giants’ GM? Stop trying to justify your decision.Kiper said he would have selected Sam Darnold or Josh Allen instead of Saquon Barkley a year ago, and that he personally had a higher grade this year on Dwayne Haskins. Based on the Giants’ evaluation, though, Kiper said Gettleman did what he had to do.Kiper said he feels Jones can be “a very good starter” and that “there’s a lot of Eli Manning and Peyton Manning” in him.The ESPN analyst said judging Jones by his statistics at Duke is not fair.Kiper acknowledged that Jones’ career will be judged against that of Dwayne Haskins, as well as Darnold Color Rush Julian Love Jersey , Allen and Josh Rosen — quarterbacks the Giants passed on last year.

Colts guard Matt Slauson announced his retirement on social media Wednesday.“It has been 10 amazing years Josh Martin Jerseys 2019 ,” Slauson wrote on Instagram. “Four organizations, and countless friendships. What an amazing dream this has all been. Thanks to all my teammates who have gone into battle with me, the group of coaches that have made me better on and off the field, the fans that were there no matter what, and especially my wife and kids who supported me through it all. It has been a very difficult decision but we are excited for what the next chapter holds. #nyjets #beardown #boltup #colts”Slauson White Juston Burris Jerseys , 32, appeared in five games, all starts, at right guard for the Colts in 2018. He played nine seasons, three with the Jets Juston Burris Jerseys 2019 , three with the Bears, two with the Chargers and one with the Colts. Slauson appeared in 113 games, all starts.Jets-Browns Preview: 6 Questions with Dawgs By Nature With the Jets getting set to take on the Browns this week, I was able to ask Chris Pokorny of Dawgs By Nature a few questions on the state of the Browns.1. The Browns currently rank 4th in lowest rate of opponent drives ending in scores and 2nd in highest rate of opponent drives ending in turnovers - and they did that in games against Ben Roethlisberger and Drew Brees. Is this Browns defense legitimately elite, and who have the key difference-makers been in elevating them to this level so far?2. Have to ask it - when are we going to see Baker Mayfield? How good of a job has Tyrod Taylor done in holding him off?3. Jarvis Landry has been the clear-cut number one receiving option to this point. How well has he fit into the offense?4. How is Hue Jackson still the head coach of the Browns? Is there anything visible to the eyes of the fanbase that he does legitimately well that they can point to when trying to rationalize his keeping of the position?5. Having seen this team nearly beat two elite rosters in a row White Jermaine Kearse Jerseys , where do you stand on their outlook for the rest of the season in terms of their W/L potential?6. How do you think the Browns match up against the Jets in particular? Have they shown enough for a home matchup against the Jets to be a game they should be expected to win?

He said his vision is “getting there” but has no issues with depth perception or peripheral vision.Su’a-Filo expects to play Sunday against the Bucs.Su’a-Filo was limited in practice Wednesday. He wore a visor, which he will wear the rest of the season.Starting right guard Zack Martin, who missed the first game of his career Sunday with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee, remained out of practice. Defensive lineman David Irving (ankle) and tight end Geoff Swaim (wrist) also didn’t practice Wednesday.Receiver Tavon Austin (groin), receiver Cole Beasley (foot) and linebacker Sean Lee (hamstring) were limited.Cornerback Anthony Brown (hand) and left tackle Tyron Smith (neck) were full participants.Buccaneers - Saints postgame reactions Immediate Game Reaction followed by overview and unit reactions. Ryan Fitzpatrick did everything he could to start a real controversy in Tampa at the quarterback position. In order to make whether or not Jameis returning in week four a tough decision as to who to start http://www.buccaneerslockerroom.com/authentic-kendell-beckwith-jersey , Fitzpatrick would need to really lead a dynamite offense these first three weeks. One week in and he has certainly accomplished a great start. The offense was firing on all cylinders in the pass game despite a mediocre ground game accompanying it. Should Fitzpatrick follow up this performance with a couple more similar games the coaches may face quite the dilemma in week four. Quick Overview shows a historic type performance on offense. The Buccaneers came out and had a franchise record tying offensive performance. The 48-40 score was the most the Buccaneers have scored in a game since they were crowned Super Bowl champions. The Buccaneers entered the half with 31 points setting a new team record for points scored by the team in the first half. The last point of emphasis as a whole for the offense was Todd Monken continuing to call plays in what looks to be an incredible step in the right direction for this unit. For a bit more on Monken and how he helped lead this offense, check out our own Jon Marchant’s piece on just that. Offensively the team was a well oiled machine.Ryan Fitzpatrick made smooth sailing of things with his own personal record setting day through the air. Fitzpatrick finished with a 156.3 quarterback rating in which he completed 75% of his passes for 417 yards and four touchdowns. Fitzpatrick’s scrambling was a perfect compliment to his own air attack while also lending the team a late 3rd down conversion to enter the victory formation.Peyton Barber got the start while rookie 2nd round pick Ronald Jones was a healthy inactive for the week one match-up. Barber averaged 3.63 yards a carry in the game; aided by a 23 yard scamper. Without the run, Barber was running at an abysmal clip 2.55 yards a touch. The receiving core was as advertised and some in this ballgame with two electric performances from Mike Evans and Desean Jackson who both eclipsed 140 yards receiving. O.J. Howard hauled in two passes for 54 yards while second year receiver Chris Godwin also came down with a few passes for 41 yards and a touchdown of his own. The offensive line got the job done, keeping Fitzpatrick upright for the better part of the game and allowing zero sacks. The holes for the running game weren’t quite enough to spark a consistent attack on the ground but the resilience and consistency to which they played as a unit was encouraging. Marpet and Jensen both showed some gumption in the ball game when standing up for their quarterback who received a couple late hits. The defense has much work to do.The front four landed the first sack of 2018 for the team via new addition Vinny Curry. The sack was the lone time they made it home on Drew Brees despite a few other opportunities, none better than Jason Pierre-Paul’s near sack that wasn’t. With Brees consistently taking three step drops and dishing the ball out quickly there was little opportunity for the front four to work their way into the pocket. The linebackers did what they do when it comes to the duo of Kwon Alexander and Lavonte David. The two combined for 18 total tackles, splitting the total at 9 combined tackles a piece. Adarius Taylor starting in the absence of Kendell Beckwith and tallied a lone solo tackle but with the defense in sub-packages most of the day, there was little opportunity for Taylor to make an impact. Alexander also had a forced fumble recovered by the Buccaneers in this game. The corners were short handed going in and pending new information Vernon Hargreaves III Jersey , may continue to be shorthanded as Vernon Hargreaves III made an early impact in the game forcing a fumble that was recovered by the Buccaneers but ultimately had to leave the game with a shoulder injury. Ryan Smith found himself in good position and was able to pick up a fumble forced by Kwon Alexander. Smith otherwise had a choppy day on the field including a blunder that appeared to involve himself and Chris Conte as Brees connected with a wide open receiver in the end zone.Carlton Davis got introduced to the NFL in a rough manner as Brees attacked him early and often. With Grimes out it was a building day for the rookie as he now has some regular season game film of himself to digest. The safety play and how one views it depends largely on which safety you’re talking about. Justin Evans made a few plays in the passing game and had a huge early fumble recovery for a touchdown on defense. Conte led the defensive backs in tackles with 7 but had an up and down game defending the pass as one could expect facing the likes of Drew Brees. Evans finished with 5 total tackles. Two things that have been issues in seasons before reared their ugly heads in week one. 1) This defense struggles to defend big receivers and 2) this team struggles to defend shifty backs, in particular backs that catch the ball well out of the backfield. Kamar and Thomas dominated this game against he Buccaneers defense, combining for 27 catches and 292 yards and 2 touchdowns. Special teams did their job. Shaun Wilson had one opportunity to take a kick out of the end-zone and he managed 29 yards on that very return. There was little wiggle room for punt/kick returns outside of that lone attempt via Wilson but the team didn’t make any mistakes and in turn, the offense was set up nicely on a regular basis throughout the ball game. Catanzaro missed a kick late but otherwise made an early 36 yard field goal while also nailing on all 6 extra point attempts. Anger had a single punt that went for 42 yards that got the job done despite not pinning the Saints too deep.

Several former San Francisco 49ers players and coaches stood out in Week 6, as well as other players whose performances could put them on the radar of NFL teams. We’ll be dropping in on the AAF on a weekly basis to see who’s making an impact in the new league.Former 49ersMike Singletary, Memphis ExpressSingletary’s Express fell to 1-5 Saturday, losing 22-9 to the Salt Lake Stallions. The former 49ers head coach now owns the worst record in the AAF. Singletary lands on our standout list not for his Week 6 performance, but for the impending arrival of polarizing quarterback Johnny Manziel. The Express added Manziel on Saturday after the CFL’s Montreal Alouettes released him earlier this month. He was not allowed to play for any other CFL teams. Singletary coaching Manziel becomes must-watch TV.Ja’Quan Gardner, San Diego FleetGardner suited up for the 49ers’ final 2018 preseason game against the Los Angeles Chargers but didn’t receive any snaps and was released two days later. He currently ranks third among AAF running backs with 309 yards rushing, averaging 5.1 yards per carry. Gardner’s found the endzone three times this season for the Fleet as their lead back.Rashad Ross, San Diego FleetRoss signed a reserve/futures contract with the 49ers in January of 2017 but was released in June, before the bulk of the offseason began. He’s now among the AAF’s most prolific receivers, totaling 29 receptions for 452 yards and six touchdowns. He currently ranks second in yards receiving behind Orlando Apollo’s Charles Johnson (521). He seems primed for another invite to an NFL training camp in 2019.Other standoutsDerron Smith Jaquiski Tartt Jersey , S, San Antonio CommandersSmith reeled in a pick-six for the second week in a row. He intercepted Atlanta Legends quarter Aaron Murray on Saturday in the fourth quarter, returning it for an 87-yard score. The former Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals safety is among the AAF’s top defenders. Smith’s three interceptions is tied for second among all defenders.Karter Schult, DE, Salt Lake StallionsSchult continues to establish himself as the top AAF defensive lineman. He totaled five sacks heading into Saturday’s contest against the Expresses. He added another two, bringing his six-game total to seven. Schult has 18 quarterback hits on the season and is another AAF defender likely to garner NFL attention this offseason.L’Damian Washington, WR, Birmingham IronWashington burst on to the scene in Week 6. Prior to Sunday’s game against the Fleet, the Iron receiver had 14 catches for 277 yards and one touchdown to his name. He added four receptions for 128 yards on Sunday, finding the endzone twice. He also added a two-point conversion to his evening. Washington’s highlight play came in the second quarter where he reeled in an 83-yard touchdown from quarterback Luis Perez.Current standingsEast Division1. Orlando Apollos (5-1)2. Punters are people too! The Senior and former Ute is an Australian native was also a Ray Guy finalist, an award given to the nations best punter. The 27-year old Wishnowsky was second-team AP All-American.It’s a bit early for a punter, but the 49ers are in dire need of one. Bradley Pinion left in free agency leaving a huge void for a punter and Wishnowsky fits the bill. Go look at some of his kicks and you’ll see he might be an upgrade. Wishnosky is an interesting character. How about this, he has ranked random objects by punt-ability. Good luck fighting scouting reports on a punter. Here’s what NFL.com has on him:Highlights1.

After the Buffalo Bills starting cornerback Vontae Davis walked out on the team in Week 2 Jim Kelly Jerseys Stitched , and his replacement Phillip Gaines proved ineffective, the team was in bad straights. They were forced to turn to undrafted free agent Levi Wallace out of sheer desperation. But Wallace ended up playing very well in his first game against the New York Jets, and the rookie seemed to gain confidence every week. However, it would be unwise for general manager Brandon Beane to assume that Wallace is the answer at cornerback. At the very least, Bills brass should commit to finding themselves some additional competition at the position.Cornerback has been one of the few college positions that never seems to have a down year and always seems to result in players who produce early in their careers. The 2019 draft will likely be no different. Here are ten players I believe the Bills will be evaluating to provide additional depth. Tier IByron Murphy (Washington) Andraez “Greedy” Williams (LSU)Both players in this tier will be gone in the first 15 picks, possibly in the first ten, and will walk on as immediate starters. Murphy’s young, but he’s the best athlete at corner coming out this year. He’s twitchy at all levels of the field, and he has enough speed to recover when overpowered at the line. He also has the ball skills teams want Youth O. J. Simpson Jerseys , with four interceptions in 2018. If we learned anything from last year, it’s that teams want athletic corners at the top of the draft (Denzel Ward). With good size, length, aggression and ball skills, Greedy has very few flaws. But there have been rumblings about how motivated his is to be a complete player.Tier IITrayvon Mullen (Clemson)Deandre Baker (Georgia)Julian Love (Notre Dame) Rock Ya-Sin (Temple)The team that drafts Mullen has to know they’re getting a man-coverage specialist, one who is fresh off shutting down Alabama’s dominant pair of receivers in the National Championship game. Georgia’s Baker is different. He’s battle tested, tough and isn’t afraid to mix it up in the run game. Unfortunately, he’s a bit small and isn’t fast enough or flexible enough for full-time man coverage. Love is at his best when he can play off-coverage and step in front of throws and smack receivers in the underneath passing game. Injuries will be a major concern, however. A personal favorite O. J. Simpson Jerseys Stitched , Ya-Sin’s rise as a prospect has been meteoric. He beats up receivers all through their routes, and would look mighty fine in a Seattle-type Cover-3 system.Tier IIIAmani Oruwariye (Penn State)Michael Jackson Sr. (Miami-Florida)Kris Boyd (Texas)David Long (Michigan)The combine will be very important for Oruwariye, because his ability to stay with receivers if he doesn’t get his hands on them has been questioned. Even if he runs moderately well, his length and physicality will be very intriguing for teams. Another player whose long speed is questioned is Miami’s Jackson. He was well-regarded in 2017, but the wheels seemed to fall off this past year. Kris Boyd’s wheels fell off last month, at the Senior Bowl. His tendency to grab receivers at the top of their routes earned him multiple flags during the game. Still, teams will like how he tackles. Long’s a similar player to his former teammate Jourdan Lewis: on the smaller side, not particularly quick and won’t ‘wow’ you in practice, but a baller whenever he steps on the field. If you’re feeling queasy Youth Thurman Thomas Jerseys , or if historically bad performances from the Buffalo Bills make your stomach churn, the following statistic is not for you. We all know the Bills (2-7) are in a free-fall, having lost their last four games to essentially knock the team out of playoff consideration. What’s worse, it appears we are all witnessing some historically inept performances from the Bills. Over their last three games, the Bills have been outscored 103-20, a margin of defeat of 83 points. Buffalo’s last three losses — 37-5 to the Indianapolis Colts, 25-6 to the New England Patriots, and 41-9 to the Chicago Bears — represent the worst three consecutive losses in franchise history. If you extend the numbers back to a Week 6 loss to the Houston Texans — a 20-13 setback in a game the team seemed poised to win until Josh Allen suffered an elbow sprain and Nathan Peterman tossed a pick-six and a game-clinching interception — Buffalo has been outscored 123-33, a 90-point differential that ranks second-worst in franchise history. For those who really are gluttons for punishment Thurman Thomas Jerseys Stitched , the franchise record for worst scoring margin over a four-game period is 92 points, set during Weeks 8-11 of the 1984 season. Buffalo will look to snap out of this streak when it travels to face its AFC East rivals, the New York Jets, at 1 p.m. Eastern Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Hockenson could be in play for the GiantsKim Klement-USA TODAY SportsIt should be fairly obvious after the moves already made in 2019 that the New York Giants are going all-in on the running game. They have also committed significant resources to rebuilding their offensive line, but they have yet to lock down the right tackle position. If cap restraints knock the Giants, out of the free agency market and there is a run on offensive tackles early in the 2019 NFL Draft, the team could look to draft a high-level tight end to help Chad Wheeler. Contrary to the popular narrative, Evan Engram is a capable blocker and finished the season with no blown blocks, but he is misused in-line. And while the team has Rhett Ellison for that role, but he could be a cap casualty. In this scenario, the Giants could look to Iowa’s T.J. Hockenson to add a physical and highly athletic presence as an in-line tight end for their 12-personnel packages.MeasurablesProsPrototypical size and frame. Excellent athlete. Punishing blocker with solid technique.Good route runner and receiver.Able to play anywhere in the offensive formation. Scheme diverse. Able to play in any running or passing scheme. ConsNeeds more patience blocking in space.Could be more consistent high-pointing the ball.Prospect VideoWhat They’re Saying (NFL.com - Scouting Report)Does He Fit The Giants? With T.J. Hockenson, it isn’t a matter of whether or not he fits a team’s offense. If a team has an offensive scheme he doesn’t fit, it’s more likely that they need a new offensive scheme.Hockenson is a complete tight end with size and physicality Authentic Julian Love Jersey , an excellent run blocker and high upside as a receiver. It is difficult to find actual weaknesses in Hockenson’s game, and those few that can be found should be fixed by coaching at the next level. For the Giants, the bigger question is whether or not they should spend the 17th overall selection on a tight end. In the right scenario, where there is a run on offensive tackles between the sixth and seventeenth picks, Hockenson could be in play. While he isn’t an offensive lineman, he is a better blocker than many starting tackles in the NFL, and would make for a potentially devastating combination with Evan Engram in a 12-personnel package. Selecting Hockenson would also make Rhett Ellison expendable for additional cap relief. Of course, it is also possible that he doesn’t even make it that far, but it is difficult to see him lasting out of the first round. And likewise it was inevitable that he would be asked about his departure from the Giants, as well as his thoughts regarding general manager Dave Gettleman. And speaking to ESPN, those were exactly the topics which came up. Collins told ESPN that he believes that Damon Harrison, Olivier Vernon, Odell Beckham Jr. and himself are no longer Giants because they became too vocal in their concerns about the team. But while Collins reportedly spoke “glowingly” about John Mara, he said that the Giants’ general manager doesn’t seem to have much interest in communicating with his players as men, saying that Gettleman “never even talked to me, basically.”From there, Collins was critical of Gettleman’s decision to part with some of the Giants’ most talented players. And speaking of Odell Beckham Jr, who was traded to the Cleveland Browns along with Olivier Vernon, Collins said Infant Julian Love Jersey , “You got OBJ, the best receiver in the game, and you get rid of him because you think he’s ... a locker room problem?” Collins whole-heartedly disagrees with the notion that Beckham was a locker room problem. Collins’ comments regarding Gettleman’s relationship with players echo those made by former Carolina Panthers DeAngelo Williams and Jon Beason. In a 2017 interview with CBS Sports, Beason said this:For his part, Williams issued a warning to the Giants’ veterans when Gettleman was hired, saying:For his part, Gettleman made his feelings clear regarding players’ critiques of him when he was introduced as the Giants’ general manager.

FOXBOROUGH Authentic Byron Cowart Jersey , Mass. (AP) — For nine straight years, the final few weeks of the regular season for the Patriots have included the celebration of an AFC East title and typically an accompanying first-round bye in the playoffs.New England can lock up a 10th consecutive division crown Sunday with a win or tie against Buffalo, or a Miami loss or tie when it hosts Jacksonville. The Patriots would also become the first franchise in NFL history to earn a playoff berth in 10 straight seasons. But they enter the final two weeks of the regular season needing help to avoid playing in the wild-card round of the playoffs for the first time since 2009.Article continues below ...Following back-to-back losses at Miami and Pittsburgh , New England (9-5) began Week 16 on track to be the No. 3 seed in the AFC behind Kansas City (11-3) and Houston (10-4).The Patriots have not been a wild-card team since 2009, when they were blown out by Baltimore. They also failed to make it to the Super Bowl the other two times under coach Bill Belichick (2005 and 2006) that they played during the opening weekend of the postseason. New England has never started the postseason on the road with Belichick the coach and Tom Brady the quarterback. The first step to New England avoiding those fates is by continuing its dominance against the Bills (5-9), a team it has beaten four straight times — including a 25-6 win at Buffalo in October. It was one of the few successes the Patriots had on the road this season, where they’ve gone just 3-5.While they will be at home Sunday and for their regular-season finale on Dec. 30 against the Jets, coach Bill Belichick is not counting it as an advantage.“I think playing well creates an advantage,” he said.New England is as healthy as it’s been all season, but will have to adapt after receiver Josh Gordon was suspended indefinitely by the NFL on Thursday for violating an agreement that allowed him to play after multiple drug suspensions.Gordon was thriving in New England, where he landed in September in a trade after the Browns felt it was time to cut ties. In 11 starts with the Patriots, he had 40 receptions for 720 yards and three touchdowns, five years removed from an All-Pro season in 2013 with 87 catches for 1,646 yards and nine touchdowns.Bills linebacker Lorenzo Alexander said Buffalo, which is coming off a close win over Detroit last week, is embracing the role of spoiler.“It’s huge,” Alexander said. “Obviously, they’ve been the standard of our division for the last 15 years, and they’re in the division chase. So for us to go up there and be able to beat them would be huge obviously for this city, for our team and organization. Because they’re a team that’s really had our number since I’ve been here.”Here are some things to watch for in Sunday’s game:WHO STEPS UP?With Gordon out White Drew Bledsoe Jerseys , Brady will be looking for someone to fill his production for the remainder of the season. That will likely mean a lot more will be put on veteran receiver Julian Edelman and tight end Rob Gronkowski, though both struggled at times this season. Edelman has 63 catches for 711 yards and four touchdowns, while Gronkowski has 45 catches for 658 yards and three TDs.But Gronk was limited again this week by ankle and back issues. And between them, they have just two touchdowns over the past three games.OFFENSIVE IMPROVEMENTWith rookie quarterback Josh Allen back on the field for four games since missing four with a sprained right elbow, the Bills’ offense is improving despite RB LeSean McCoy’s ongoing struggles.Allen is 57 for 114 for 801 yards, four TDs and four INTs in in his last four starts. Meanwhile, the Bills have topped 100 yards rushing in five straight games, matching last season’s high.McCoy has topped 100 yards just once — 113 yards and two touchdowns — in a 41-10 win at the New York Jets on Nov. 11. Otherwise, with 479 yards rushing, he’s in jeopardy of finishing with the lowest production of his career. He had 637 yards as a rookie in 2009, when he had four starts in 16 games.CHARTING BRADYBrady owns a 29-3 record against Bills. His 29 wins against Buffalo are the most victories by a quarterback against a single opponent. Next is Brady’s 26 wins against Jets.Brady passed for 324 yards in the last meeting with Buffalo and needs 21 to join Peyton Manning (14) and Drew Brees (12) as quarterbacks with 10 seasons of 4,000-plus yards passing. A look at the teams selecting Friday night and where the Patriots fit in."The NFL Draft resumes tonight at 7 PM, and the Arizona Cardinals will be on the clock first at pick 33. Typically Friday is the more exciting day, especially for Patriots fans, because there is a lot of movement between teams.Last night, 5 picks in rounds 2 and 3 changed hands. The picks were: Other than that, the draft order hasn’t changed since yesterday. Of course, there are rumors that Josh Rosen may be on the move at some point today, so that could certainly change, but Drew Bledsoe Jerseys 2019 , for now, the board looks mostly the same as it did yesterday. The Patriots have the most picks (five) tonight, with the Colts and Rams both having four. The Colts, however, have three picks in the second round, while the Rams have three in the third. As you probably know, the Patriots have two in the second and three in the third. Some teams that may be even more likely to trade picks are the Texans, Chiefs, and Eagles. That’s because they have picks bunched close together. The Texans have back to back picks at 54 and 55.Unless they love 2 guys there, it would be a great opportunity to get the guy they want and still trade down and get more picks. The Eagles are in a similar situation with picks 53 and 57, and the Chiefs hold nearly back to back picks at 61 and 63. All of those teams could be focused on one player in the spot they’re in and, while getting him, also trade back and pick up more assets. As far as the Patriots are concerned, the wait won’t be quite as long for them tonight, as they are picking 24th tonight, at pick 56. Then they’ll have a pick just eight picks later at 64, and nine picks after that at 73. Having picks relatively close together may allow them to trade back, or, possibly, trade a pick or two for a veteran who can make an immediate impact. Look for the Patriots to make some noise at the end of the second and top of the third. After 73 White Steve Grogan Jerseys , they have to wait until 97, but they again have picks very close together, because they will be on the clock again at 101.Having the number of picks they do, and the relatively small gap between most of their picks gives the Patriots a ton of options tonight. Last year, the Patriots dealt one of their 3rd rounders for Trent Brown. Will we see the same type of move this year? Will the Patriots trade up for a player they covet early in the second? Or, will the Patriots do what they did last year, and use those picks to get some extra draft capital for next season?I think it could be a little of everything. With five picks, they can draft a few players, pick up a veteran, or maybe second year player (come to me, Josh Rosen), or even make a trade for a higher pick next year. I’m hoping for some fireworks, which we always assume that we won’t get, but, then again, we’ve always said we wouldn’t see the flashy first round WR, and that already happened, so maybe Bill has some more surprises for us this year.Full 2nd and 3rd Round OrderRound 2 33. We continue today with former Giants return specialist and wide receiver Quadree Henderson. The 22-year old Henderson is listed at 5’8” and 190 pounds and was undrafted out of Pitt last season. Henderson played in five game for the Giants last year in a special teams role. He caught three passes in preseason with the Steelers.BackgroundHenderson was regarded as one of the best high school recruits out of Delaware which led to him being recruited to Pitt.During his first season in 2015, Henderson only had four offensive touches for three yards but averaged 28 yards per kick return, scoring a 100-yard touchdown on the opening kickoff of the Military Bowl at the end of the year.2016 saw Henderson selected as an All-American kick returner after he was 6th in the nation in kick return average and 5th in punt return average. He had four touchdown returns, including three on kickoffs. He also started to contribute on offense, earning an honorable mention all-ACC selection as a receiver. Henderson caught 26 passes and carried the ball 60 times, racking up over 900 yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns. In 2017, Henderson wasn’t as productive but still had two punt return touchdowns. He caught 17 passes and rushed for 250 yards on 36 carries, while averaging 21.3 yards per kickoff return and 11.6 yards per punt return.Having attended the scouting combine, Henderson was disappointed not to be drafted, but signed as an undrafted free agent with the Steelers. In preseason, he caught three passes for 36 yards and a touchdown and returned three kickoffs for 73 yards and two punts for 14 yards Doug Middleton Jerseys 2019 , but was unable to make a Steelers roster with a deep receiving corps.Henderson was added to the Giants practice squad in October and had two stints on the active roster. The first ended when he was released back to the practice squad and the second saw him place on injured reserve due to injury. In total, he played five games, returning five kickoffs for 112 yards and nine punts for 68 yards. He did not play any offensive snaps. The Giants decided to waive Henderson last week and the Jets claimed him.Now let’s take a look at what Henderson brings to the table, divided into categories.Measurables/AthleticismHenderson’s burst and acceleration are extremely impressive on film, but his combine numbers were disappointing. His three-cone drill, broad jump and 40-yard dash were all about average and his bench press, short shuttle and vertical were all poor. However, he reportedly improved upon his 40 time at his pro day, as he was clocked at 4.38 to 4.40 by scouts in attendance.Henderson is obviously very small and also has short arms, although - contrary to what it says in his NFL.com scouting report - his hands are actually quite big.UsageHenderson’s lack of size probably limits him to a slot-based role at the NFL level, although interestingly when he saw limited preseason action with the Steelers, he primarily lined up on the outside. At Pitt, they ran an unconventional offensive system which saw Henderson constantly going in motion and often reversing back and motioning in the opposite direction to confuse the defense. From that set White Brandon Copeland Jerseys , he carried the ball a lot on jet sweeps and end arounds. He would line up wide or in the slot from time to time, but wasn’t employed as a conventional receiver very often. He sometimes lined up in the backfield though.Special TeamsSpecial teams are obviously the main reason for the Jets bringing Henderson in, as they look to find a younger and cheaper replacement for the departing pro bowler Andre Roberts. Henderson has an excellent history as a big-play return man with his school record seven return touchdowns.Henderson’s ability to build up speed quickly is what makes him especially effective in this role. He displays that here.Due to his lack of size, Henderson won’t break many tackles, but showcases some good elusiveness. He will run laterally and lose yardage from time to time, although when he does, he’s often close to breaking it.Henderson does not contribute on special teams other than when he’s returning kicks.Deep threatHenderson has never really showed himself to be any kind of deep threat in college or in his limited preseason reps. He made a few downfield catches, but never by blowing past a defender in man coverage.RoutesHenderson has limited experience of running a pro-style route tree. Scouting reports indicate that he will round off his routes and doesn’t make crisp breaks. He would probably be most effective on crossing route type plays where he can rely on his speed to uncover. This was basically the only example of route running he displayed in preseason action, as the defender made it easy for him by playing too far off.HandsHenderson caught all three of his targets in preseason action and had a solid 69 percent catch rate in college, although that’s rendered less impressive by the fact that a lot of these were simple dump-offs. He only had two drops at Pitt, though.Henderson has not had many spectacular catches on his highlight reel, but showed nice concentration on this play.Ball security was a bit of an issue in college, as he had five fumbles in three years. However Brandon Copeland Jerseys 2019 , only one of these was a muffed punt and he didn’t have any fumbles with the Steelers or Giants.Red zoneHenderson isn’t really a red zone threat as a receiver. In fact, he only caught one touchdown pass in his college career. He did run for five touchdowns, though, all of them in 2016. However, most of these were on big plays.Yards after the catchHere’s one of Henderson’s catches from preseason. As you can see, it’s little more than a running play but underlines how Henderson can be a useful player if you can find ways to get him the ball in space. As noted above, he can be elusive and accelerate away from defenders, but doesn’t really break out of tackles or drive a pile.BlockingAs you’d expect, Henderson doesn’t contribute much as a blocker. This was especially true in college, where his main contributions to running plays were usually by creating misdirection as a decoy.A review of his preseason footage predictably doesn’t show him making any kind of impact as a blocker, although he also didn’t really make any obvious errors.PhysicalityHenderson will battle for yardage on returns and when he gets the ball on offense, but will often go down on first contact. He doesn’t display much physicality as a blocker or route runner either.Henderson’s scouting reports also suggest he doesn’t really like to go over the middle as a receiver.InstinctsHenderson shows good open field running instincts as a return man and follows his blockers well.As a receiver, his lack of experience may be an issue but he’s shown some ability to find an open spot in the defense as he did on this play White Trumaine Johnson Jerseys , on which he also made a great catch.AttitudeHenderson doesn’t appear to have any off-field concerns and is regarded as a hard worker with good maturity.InjuriesInjuries weren’t really an issue for Henderson in college, as he played in 25 out of 25 games in his last two years. With the Giants, he landed on injured reserve after fracturing his shoulder in his fifth game.Scheme FitWhile Henderson could potentially develop into a slot receiver, he’s probably too raw and inexperienced in that role to beat out some of the other candidates to contribute there at this time. However, he could be useful for special packages, maybe in some similar plays to those he saw success with at Pitt. Is this not earmarked as Trenton Cannon’s role though?ConclusionsHenderson is unlikely to contribute much, if at all, on offense with the Jets - at least in the short term. However, he is a dynamic return man and could establish himself as a fan favorite if he’s able to showcase his potential. At the moment, Henderson is arguably ahead of the pack in terms of return experience with guys like Tim White and JJ Jones considered bigger long-shots to make the final roster. The Jets may yet bring in more options in the draft or via free agency, but Henderson’s college credentials and his solid, if unspectacular, performances with the Giants last year could make him the favorite to be Roberts’ successor as the return specialist.Of course it goes without saying that he needs to make the most of whatever opportunities he gets and catch the ball consistently - especially on punts - in camp and preseason Trumaine Johnson Jerseys 2019 , so that the team is comfortable putting him out there. Bringing your daily links to the NFL’s New York Jets"Good morning, Jet fans! I hope everyone’s having a great start to their day. Le’veon Bell has let it be known that he will be wearing No. 26 while he is a Jet. I wonder if Marcus Maye let him have it or a deal was struck between the two for the number. Sam Darnold has said that the Jets players all ‘love’ Adam Gase. I think he should’ve held off on that at least until the first preseason game. Sam is a good guy but let’s be real, it’s easy to love someone when you first know them. We’ll see how it pans out in the future but I think it’s safe to say that the feeling of ‘love’ will be quite shortlived if the team starts losing. In four short days, the near four month wait to see who the Tampa Bay Buccaneers pick with the fifth overall pick will officially come to an end. The next prospect in our 40 day marathon, is offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor, from Florida. Taylor, is projected to be a top 15 pick on Thursday. Jawaan Taylor’s CareerTaylor, who is forgoing his senior season at Florida to enter the NFL draft, was highly recruited out of Cocoa high school, which is also located in Florida. Before attending college, Taylor needed to lose some weight and he did just that. The coaches asked him to drop from 380 pounds to 350 and he did just that. He is now regarded as one of the best, if not the best offensive lineman in this years class. While at the University of Florida Chris Godwin Jersey , Taylor started 12 0f 13 games as a freshman, earning Freshman All-American honors, as well as Freshman All-SEC team. As a Sophomore, Taylor played in all 11 games, including two as a left tackle. In his junior season, he played 12 of 13 games at right tackle and didn’t earn any conference honors, but he is considered one of the best lineman in this year’s draft. NFL.com, has Taylor graded as a 6.25 prospect, which translates to “should become an instant starter”. ProsExcellent run blockerHas great power and strengthHas very Long armsSolid pass protector (which Buccaneers need)Showed up in big games against big time pass rushersConsHad an excessive amount of pre-snap penaltiesAllows inside path to quarterbackCan over-set at timeWhy The Buccaneers Need HimDemar Dotson is getting up there in age and his play has been in decline over the last two years. Also, Tampa Bay needs to start investing higher draft picks into there offensive line. With that being said Mike Edwards Jersey , the Buccaneers also have never really invested high draft picks, especially in the first round into their offensive line. The last time the Buccaneers drafted an offensive tackle in the first round of the NFL draft, was back in 2001. The team selected Kenyatta Walker with the 14th overall pick. Walker, was also from the University of Florida. Since 2001, the team has only selected two offensive lineman, the other being Davin Joseph back in 2006. Will It Happen?Unless we see a trade back, probably not. Taylor is a fantastic prospect and would be an immediate upgrade along the Buccaneers offensive line, but picking him at five isn’t an option. Does this mean GMC must stay?"WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections 2016 NFL DraftInjuriesFree AgencyGame FilmToday's NFL NewsHow does the JPP injury affect Gerald McCoyNew,71commentsDoes this mean GMC must stay?EDTShareTweetShareShareHow does the JPP injury affect Gerald McCoyKim Klement-USA TODAY SportsThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers franchise continues to be cursed in oh so many ways. Tuesday started out as an exciting day for Buccaneers fans, when they learned that Ronde Barber will be inducted into the teams Ring of Honor on September 22nd against the New York Giants.Excitement quickly faded after news broke this afternoon that Jason Pierre-Paul may have sustained a season-ending neck injury as a result of the car accident that happened last Thursday. With Tampa Bay not really addressing the defensive line in the draft outside of their fourth-round pick Anthony Nelson Mike Edwards Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jersey , JPP was slated to be a very crucial part to this defense in 2019, but now, the Buccaneers are scrambling for answers. So, how does this news affect Gerald McCoy and his 2019 status with Tampa Bay? I’m glad you asked. In my opinion, if JPP is indeed out for the 2019 season, there is no possible way that McCoy can not be on this roster come Week 1. They simply can’t afford to lose their Top 2 defensive lineman from last season and rely on guys like Noah Spence and Anthony Nelson to take massive steps forward.Questions are still to be answered regarding how this injury might affect the salary cap, but one way or another, the Buccaneers need to figure out how to fit GMC under the cap this year, because he suddenly just became the second most important piece on this defense.

PDTShareTweetShareShareJimmy Garoppolo trying to get a feel of what Kyle Shanahan thinks calling playsJimmy Garoppolo tore his ACL in Week 3 and one of the largest setbacks over the entire scenario was how he’d miss a year in development of Kyle Shanahan’s system. It seems like the 49ers did everything they could to teach what was available during his recovery, going as far as giving him film sessions with Mike Shanahan. Well, it looks like Garoppolo also has been trying to think like his coach. In an appearance on KNBR’s Fitz & Brooks, Garoppolo went over his recovery and what his schedule was like during the season after going on IR: That’s one way to learn the playbook! The biggest problem with Kyle Shanahan’s playbook, if there was one, is that it’s so darn difficult. Try reciting this in a huddle. Getting film time with Mike Shanahan is a great move, but seeing where Kyle Shanahan is coming from on the next play is going to help expediting calls in 2019. You might be thinking this is obvious for an NFL player, but the truth is, we’ve seen situations where the player injured is absent from the building and no one hears from them the rest of the season. Garoppolo is doing everything he can to learn what he could in that awful situation he was put into. Plus getting Kyle Shanahan’s perspective will help them when they are in a time out situation and need to settle on a play. With so many season-long leagues shifting to their playoffs, lots of fantasy players are turning toward daily game — especially if they’re no longer contending for the title. And key injuries like those to running backs James Conner, Matt Breida and Melvin Gordon have created opportunities in daily fantasy without the downside seen in seasonal leagues. Here are a few situations that will be pivotal in Week 14:JAMES CONNERThe Pittsburgh running back having a strong year replacing Le’Veon Bell is out against Oakland with a sprained left ankle, creating a huge opportunity for Jaylen Samuels. Samuels is a top five value in DailyRoto’s projections at his price for both FanDuel ($4,600) and DraftKings ($3,700). While head coach Mike Tomlin indicated Conner will be replaced by a committee, Samuels has the most appeal. Samuels averaged five catches a game during his senior year at NC State and will be the first back targeted in the passing game and 2-minute offense. Samuels has outsnapped Stevan Ridley 2-1 over the previous few weeks and even with a conservative projection of 50 percent of rushing attempts, he projects for top five value. While a “fade” or pivoting off of Samuels may be viable on FanDuel, where touchdowns are critical, he should be a staple of DraftKings cash games and tournament lineups this weekend.MATT BREIDAWith Samuels a trendy option, one name that could fly under the radar as a pivot is 49ers running back Jeff Wilson, who costs just $5 Alfred Morris Jersey ,600 on Fanduel and $3,800 on DraftKings. When Matt Breida went down with an injury in Week 13 it was Wilson who emerged, playing on 73 percent of snaps and getting 15 carries and eight catches. With San Francisco again projected to be playing from behind, Wilson could receive more checkdowns from Nick Mullens. They key to watch with Wilson will be the news around Alfred Morris and Matthew Dayes. Both were inactive last week, leading to Wilson’s large workload. If either are inactive again this week it could be a sign that San Francisco is willing to trust the undrafted free agent with a heavy workload. Like Samuels, Wilson was a strong receiver in college with over 500 yards on 70 receptions and could be particularly valuable in the point-per-reception format on DraftKings. The other benefit of Wilson is his game starting in the late afternoon window. Both FanDuel and DraftKings offer the ability to use late swaps, allowing you to edit rosters for games that have not yet started. Samuels will be the highest owned player this week and savvy fantasy owners who need to catch up to their opponents will leverage late swaps to pivot off Samuels to Wilson.MELVIN GORDONGordon projects to remain out again in Week 14 and Austin Ekeler eased any doubts about his workload in Week 13, playing on 78 percent of snaps. Some fantasy owners may be scared off by his results, ending with just 43 yards, but his workload is encouraging with 13 rushing attempts and eight targets. On the season, Ekeler is averaging 0.35 fantasy points per snap, which is higher than a few notable names, including Christian McCaffrey, James Conner, Ezekiel Elliott, Joe Mixon and David Johnson. Ekeler is particularly attractive at a $6,700 FanDuel price and also a strong play at $6,200 on DraftKings. Look for Ekeler to provide a strong boost in a game where the Chargers have a 31-point implied team total and are 14-point home favorites.
