JACKSONVILLE Youth Darryl Johnson Jersey , Fla. (AP)Paul Posluszny left the game the same way he played – with the utmost class. The veteran middle linebacker retired Tuesday after 11 NFL seasons with Buffalo and Jacksonville, calling it quits because he can ”no longer compete at a level that I find acceptable.”Posluszny delivered the news in a heartfelt letter that thanked family members, former coaches at every level and teammates past and present.”With much sadness but without regret, I realize that I am no longer able to adhere to the unwavering standard of excellence that professional football demands,” Posluszny wrote. ”I say this with a heavy heart: I am retiring from the NFL. I love the game of football so much, and I know there is truly only one acceptable way to play. Knowing I can no longer compete at a level that I find acceptable, I have chosen to end my football career.”This decision is mine alone, and although I know this will not bring me happiness Womens Darryl Johnson Jersey , it is the right and honorable action to take at this time in my life.”The Pennsylvania native and Penn State graduate was an old-school linebacker, a player who liked tackling way more than talking. He had a chiseled chest, a barely noticeable neck and scars up and down his body.Posluszny started his career in Buffalo before playing the final seven years in Jacksonville. He led the Jaguars in tackles five times. His 973 career stops trail only Daryl Smith (1,089) in Jacksonville’s record book.”I believe everyone should thank Paul for a career representing everything to love about the NFL and the game of football,” team owner Shad Khan said in a statement. ”Paul competed hard and relentlessly, but always represented his community with honor and class, as we saw during his years here with the Jaguars.”The 33-year-old Posluszny was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent Wednesday. With Jacksonville unlikely to re-sign him following the emergence of Myles Jack, Posluszny opted to walk away for good.He did so with an elegant letter Authentic Darryl Johnson Jersey , planning to ”spend the rest of eternity” trying to repay his wife for everything she has done for him and promising to do his best to step up the challenge of ”dance class and dollhouses” with his two daughters. He thanked teachers and coaches at Hopewell High in Western Pennsylvania. He thanked Penn State, including late coach Joe Paterno for providing him ”with a priceless education and wonderful memories.” He thanked the Bills, including coach Marv Levy and late owner Ralph Wilson, ”for allowing me to be a small part of that storied franchise and amazing city.”He also thanked Jaguars coach Doug Marrone and top executive Tom Coughlin ”for bringing us out of the darkness and back into the light, and for demanding a non-negotiable standard of excellence that will propel the Jacksonville Jaguars forward for years to come. I am excited to watch and cheer for you.”Posluszny made one Pro Bowl (2013) and was part of one winning seasons (2017). He also made the playoffs for the first time in his career last season and finished one victory shy of the Super Bowl.”These last two or three years, I promise you I saw him smile more than I did before – even in pictures,” fellow Jaguars linebacker Telvin Smith said. ”I know he went through another phase in life having his daughters. That opened him up in a different way. I saw that, and it gave him these last two or three years to go battle with us.”— The Buffalo Bills have a ton of cap space to spend in 2019 Darryl Johnson Jersey Boys , but that doesn’t mean NFL free agents are going to flock to sign in Western New York. In fact, there are some reasons why Buffalo might not be a great place to land.Offensive offenseThe Bills have a quarterback who isn’t very accurate, a porous offensive line, and weapons that have underwhelmed. And that doesn’t even mention the sheer number of holes, with possibly six or seven new starters on the offense next season. The offense is a work in progress and that’s not going to appeal to every free agent.Playoff DroughtIt’s still a thing. All of these players grew up, played college, and started their NFL career while the Bills were the NFL’s biggest losers (or at least longest losers). They still have a reputation as being a moribund franchise, even if they snapped the playoff drought in 2017.StereotypesThe weather in Buffalo gets a bad rap. Bills owner Kim Pegula said this month that Buffalo summers are so beautiful Infant Darryl Johnson Jersey , and she’s right. Not to mention spring and fall, but for an NFL player who grew up in the South, played college football in the SEC, and has been in another NFL city for four or five years, a lot of what they hear about Buffalo is the massive snowfall totals. It’s hard to overcome a pervasive stereotype like that. There’s also nothing to do in Buffalo, if you ask Willis McGahee, and the hotels suck according to Tom Brady.Cap spaceNot Buffalo’s cap space, but other teams’. The Indianapolis Colts with their steady head coach Darryl Johnson Jersey Draft , franchise quarterback, and domed games have the most cap space in the league and they made the playoffs. The Houston Texans have an exciting quarterback and play in Houston, plus have star J.J. Watt and DeAndre Hopkins to build around and $60 million in cap space. The Seattle Seahawks have $55 million, the San Francisco 49ers have $49 million, and the Dallas Cowboys are right behind them. Buffalo has the cap space, but do they have the cachet?

But while every position group attends and works out, it doesn’t carry the same weight for every position. For instance, while a running back turning a 40 yard dash in the 4.2’s is exciting, the traits that make a great back aren’t easily measured by a stopwatch. For the EDGE position, however, the combine carries quite a bit of weight. The fact of the matter is that it is very rare for a pass rusher without elite traits to be consistently successful in the NFL. That is why most of the best pass rushers in the NFL were drafted in the first round — that is where teams take elite athletes at high-leverage positions. The New York Giants had the second-fewest sacks in the NFL last season, which was actually an improvement after how they started the season. And while a big part of that was their porous secondary, they also need to add another consistent pass rusher to Olivier Vernon.Nick Bosa (Ohio State) - The younger Bosa has been the consensus top prospect in the draft since the season began, and probably before. Joey had a disappointing combine performance (read: Didn’t run 40 yards fast enough), but went on to tear up the NFL in his rookie year. Nick might be more advance and a better athlete than his brother was coming out. The combine will be our first chance to get a look at him since he left school after suffering a core muscle injury during the 2018 season. Josh Allen (Kentucky) - Unlike Bosa Infant Ryan Connelly Jersey , few were talking about Allen at the start of the season, but after an exceptional year he has rocketed to the top of draft boards. Allen is a great pass rusher, strong run defender, and has the movement skills to play off-ball linebacker as well. He too should be off the board in the first five picks. Jachai Polite (Florida) - This could change after getting a look at the EDGE class in its entirety at the scouting combine, but Polite might have the best pass rushing tools of any EDGE this year. He is undersized at 6-foot-2, 240 pounds (unofficial), but he is electric rushing off the edge with speed that reminds of a younger Osi Umenyiora. Polite is more than a speed rusher, with a good set of moves to compliment his speed and plenty of dogged physicality taking on blockers. He can be overwhelmed by bigger linemen, but it didn’t stop him from having a very productive (19.5 tackles for loss, 11.0 sacks, 6 forced fumbles, 4 passes defensed) junior campaign.Brian Burns (Florida State) - A long and lean pass rusher (6-foot-5 Ryan Connelly Jersey Draft , 230 pounds), Burns has few weaknesses in his game. He is thin for an EDGE, but good technique, planning, and a strong lower body keep that from being an issue. Burns has a diverse set of pass rushing moves to win with technique while his long strides and flexibility let him run past most tackles. If there is a knock on him it is that his first step isn’t exactly “explosive” and (though it is easier said than done) if a blocker can lock on to him, his weight can be an issue.Clelin Ferrell (Clemson) - Ferrell is a “classic” 4-3 defensive end, and his ability to stand up and rush from a two point stance is a bit of a question. He has good length and size at 6-foot 5, 260 pounds and is a solid athlete. Ferrell can win with power or technique and always seems to have a plan for how to attack an offensive tackle. Add to that his motor and play strength, and the result is a talented and well-rounded EDGE.Montez Sweat (Mississippi State) - Sweat had the misfortune to land in such a deep and talented draft class, as he would probably be in the top two of a “normal” EDGE class. He is long, strong, and has an explosive first step Ryan Connelly NFL Jersey , all of which he put on display in Senior Bowl practices, when coaches had to limit his reps because he was beating tackles so badly. Sweat could rise up this list after a good showing at the combine, where he will need to show that he can move fluidly and has the lateral agility to bend a tight arc to the quarterback — as well as be more sudden out of a two point stance.Honorable mentionsChristian Miller (Alabama) - It is a measure of just how good the Alabama defense was in 2018 that Miller could fly under the radar. But with just one season of production and missing the Senior Bowl with an injury, he as has done just that. At 6-foot 3, 240 pounds and experience in a very similar system, Miller doesn’t have any schematic limitations for the Giants. He doesn’t have the coveted “explosive” first step, but he does have good quickness (hampered by a curious false step from a two point stance) off the snap, and a good repertoire of moves to beat tackles. The NFL will want to investigate his medical red flags and a good showing at the combine could be a good boost to his draft stock.Chase Winovich (Michigan) - Experienced, well-coached, and smart, Winovich is going to earn more than a few fans among NFL coaches. He isn’t explosive off the snap (though he isn’t slow either), nor is he particularly fluid around the corner. But he is still a good athlete with a non-stop motor and a strong understanding of the game from a technical perspective. He might not have the ceiling of the other players on this list Ryan Connelly NFL Draft , but he should see snaps early and is the kind of player coaches will struggle to take off the field. Joe Jackson (Miami) - Jackson probably would have been a bigger name had he been able to come out after the 2017 season rather than 2018. He had a more productive season, but didn’t always look to have the same juice he did the year before. That being said, when he flashes, he is an exciting rusher who looks like a well-rounded EDGE. He might benefit from dropping a bit of weight, which would hopefully be more consistently quick and improve his play from a two point stance. That being said, he has added a lot of weight very quickly as he matured since coming to Miami (30 pounds in three years), so simply “owning” his grown man body could help him move like he did as a sophomore. Jackson will be another player who could significantly boost his stock with a good showing at the Combine. Add it all up and you get a quick reaction to how a team fared in the draft. The New England Patriots’ haul this year, for example, has been rated as one of the best in the NFL due to its mix of addressing needs and bringing high-upside developmental talent onto the team.It is therefore no surprise that this sentiment is reflected among the Patriots’ fanbase, as a look at the latest FanPulse numbers — sign up here if you also want to participate in future surveys — shows: 91% of New England’s fans are confident in the direction of the franchise after the draft, which marks a 9% increase when compared to the numbers from before the NFL’s college player selection meeting took place. The world champions’ fans are therefore among the most confident in all of football. Only six fanbases have more trust in their teams’ development in point in time, two of which from the AFC: the Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts saw 100% and 98% of their respective fans vote ‘yes’ when it came to the question of confidence. Both teams, of course, were among the most active since the offseason began.Whether or not this activity will lead to on-field success and in return a continuation of fan happiness remains to be seen. The same goes for the Patriots: traditionally among the most critical fanbases in the league, it apparently feels good about the team as it stands right now and with the draft in the books. If you are interested in participating in our FanPulse survey, please click here! Let’s take a look back.EDTShareTweetShareShare7 winners and 4 losers of the Patriots’ first week of free agencyRaj Mehta-USA TODAY SportsFollowing a busy first week James White Jerseys 2019 , the initial wave of the NFL’s 2019 free agency period is starting to slow down a bit. This, in turn, gives us a chance to take a look back at what happened from a New England Patriots’ perspective. We already recapped the action earlier today, and will now take a look at the impact the moves will have on the team and who appear to be the winners and losers this early during the process.Winner: OT Isaiah WynnWith the Patriots losing both Trent Brown and top backup LaAdrian Waddle, the road is clear for Isaiah Wynn to take over as the team’s new left tackle. While New England could (and likely will) still add more depth at the position either during the draft or free agency, the team appears to be confident in Wynn’s abilities to step into a starting role at this point in time — despite the 2018 first-round draft pick coming off a season-long stint on injured reserve.Loser: QB Tom BradyFor the second year in a row, the supporting cast around Tom Brady is undergoing a transformation process: the aforementioned Trent Brown has joined the Oakland Raiders, while only one of the team’s three free agent wide receivers has been re-signed. Furthermore, the players brought in — wideouts Bruce Ellington and Maurice Harris, tight end Matt LaCosse — appear to be little more than depth options at this point in time. That being said, 2018 has taught us that Brady can still play at a high level even without star power surrounding him at all positions.Winners: WR Phillip Dorsett & WR Braxton BerriosThe Patriots reportedly expressed at least some level of interest in big-name wide receivers such as Adam Humphries, Cole Beasley and Golden Tate — all three of which ultimately signed elsewhere White Dont’a Hightower Jersey , however. This, in turn, bodes well for the wideouts returning in 2019: recently re-signed Phillip Dorsett and 2018 sixth-round draft pick Braxton Berrios could both take on bigger roles in New England’s offense this season.Winner: The cornerback depth chartNew England has one of the best secondaries in football, and the club made sure it stayedthis way. Not only did the Patriots re-sign unrestricted free agent cornerback Jason McCourty to a two-year, $10 million contract, it also placed the second-round tender sheet — essentially a one-year, $3.1 million deal — on Jonathan Jones. Both McCourty and Jones are coming off successful 2018 campaigns and should play important roles in New England’s defense moving forward.Losers: TE Jacob Hollister, TE Ryan Izzo & TE Stephen AndersonEven though the Patriots released their second tight end, Dwayne Allen, before free agency started, the roster standing of depth options Jacob Hollister, Ryan Izzo and Stephen Anderson did not improve. After all Dont’a Hightower Jersey 2019 , the club opted to invest $4.8 million on a two-year deal in the aforementioned Matt LaCosse. While the new acquisition is not a roster lock, he is more proven than his three competitors and appears to have the inside track to earn a roster spot alongside superstar Rob Gronkowski (if he indeed returns).Winners: DT Lawrence Guy & DT Adam ButlerWhen the free agency market opened on Wednesday, the Patriots had only two members of their 2018 defensive tackle depth chart under contract: Lawrence Guy and Adam Butler, both locks to be on the 2019 team as well. Luckily for the two, the team brought in Mike Pennel on a two-year deal to serve as an early-down run stuffer and experienced addition to the rotation. Having a player of Pennel’s quality should help keep the defensive tackle rotation intact and in turn Guy and Butler fresh.Winner: Deatrich Wise Jr.New England lost two members of its defensive edge group last week: Trey Flowers signed a five-year, $90 million deal with the Detroit Lions, while Adrian Clayborn was released shortly afterwards. Even though the team also added veteran Michael Bennett via trade, the moves reflect that the team is feeling at least somewhat confident in Deatrich Wise Jr’s abilities to continue his growth into a vital member of New England’s front seven. To a lesser degree, the same might also apply to Derek Rivers.

He played in 49 total games in his career with 34 starts at right tackle and 13 starts on the left side. He was twice named to the AAC All-Academic team and earned AAC Second Team honors two times for his play on the field. He helped UCF establish a single season rushing record as a senior even though UCF was primarily a passing offense. Draft analyst Tony Pualine was at Miller’s Pro Day wrote this about Miller; “Offensive tackle Wyatt Miller, who a lot of people consider an inexpensive utility blocker for a next-level roster, had a solid day in position drills. Miller has already worked out for the New York Jets and will be visiting the Cincinnati Bengals. He already has had a workout with the team that was 60 miles SW of him in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.”Although Miller started all his games at the tackle position he will definitely need to move inside in the NFL.Miller has very good short area quickness with some very good technical skill, but he lacks the height and length needed for edge protector in the NFL. He also is woefully lacking in both upper and lower body power.Interestingly, some of the solid day Pauline talked about came while Miller was playing center and doing pulling drills from an interior line spot. Though his punch is seriously lacking in power, he has very good hand usage otherwise and is quick enough to stay in front of smaller players. Here he is against Cincinnati. He is #78 playing LT at the top of the screen. He pushes his man wide then drops his hips to set his anchor. He keeps his hands inside the shoulder pads so he is able to control his man for the length of the play. He has a tendency to play a little high in his sets but gets away with it with the hand usage. If he plays against someone with more power he will not be so lucky.Like I said he has some good technique, moves well in space, and can make combo blocks. Here he is pinning down a DT on a double team. He makes sure to great position Quincy Enunwa Jerseys 2019 , putting his body between the defender and the hole. You can see his lack of drive power on the play. His defender is even in a poor leverage position, and he still only keeps him from play. He should be able to drop his pads and drive that player away from the LOS. The result is good technique but poor power. The next play he attempts a combo block, but the play is read too quickly by the two LBs, the SAM and the MIKE who are shading to the wide side of the field.Miller is able to come off the ball quickly and put a seal block on the end. Then he makes a dash to the second level. He finds no one to block because play was read so rapidly, but it makes no difference as the back beats them to the corner and into the end zone. This next play Miller is in a two point stance. Miller played from both two and three point stances at UCF which will aid him to his move inside. I mentioned lack of height earlier, and this is where you see it come into play. Watch his kick slide; The first two steps eat up little ground, and he has to take a huge third step to get enough depth to handle the OLB who is rushing from a wide “9” position. This makes Miller play too tall and off balance. He then get jacked under the chin which exacerbates the problem. He is able to quickly regroup and use those good hands to get control of the OLB, pushing him wide. The OLB is only 6’ 2” 238 lbs. If this was a larger player then Miller would have landed on his backside White Ben Ijalana Jerseys , and the QB would have been meat. The next play has a larger rusher who has a quick first step. He gets to the outside shoulder of Miller quickly and uses a chop to get his hands down. This is where Miller needs a strong punch to the breastplate of the defender to stop his momentum, but it isn’t there. The defender is using a combo move chop/rip, but the rip is far too late. Miller gets his hands up quickly enough to push the defender wide, but this is a short set on a swing pass so the defender had no shot at a sack with the arc he was traveling. Miller also has insufficient length to play outside in the NFL. Short kick slide and poor length are two reasons Miller will need to move inside. It is not all bad for Miller. He just needs to play in a more confined space and increase his power and work on the punch. Here he is going against a player with far less quickness who tries to muscle his way to the QB.You see Miller has no problem mirroring the defender. He keeps his hands inside the shoulder pads and then does a little dance for a few seconds. Miller has a lack of lower body strength, but when he sinks his hips he has a surprisingly stout anchor.Even against smaller defenders Miller has the short area quickness to stay with them. Here he is going against a 6’ 2” 225 safety who is reading the play fake and not aggressively attacking the edge.Miller was in a three point stance but was off the ball quickly to gain good position on the smaller man. Once the safety gets into a wrestling match with Miller he is basically done on the play. By taking the outside man (which is what he is supposed to do) he left the guard to take on Rashard Lawrence who is a possible top 20 player in the 2020 Draft. The guard is no match for him as he flies by him easily for the sack. We just watched Rashard Lawrence blast by a guard, and now you can see him handle Miller as well. Miller does not get enough depth on his kick slide, and once Lawrence gets to him he knocks down his hands and slaps him like a tackling dummy to get by.You can see Miller try a punch to slow Lawrence down, but it is too weak and ineffective.Lawrence is not a super quick player (he weighs 317 lbs). He also has superior power Ben Ijalana Jerseys 2019 , but for him to get on top of Miller and get by so quickly is really bad. Lawrence will not be playing DE in the NFL.SummeryWyatt Miller is a developmental prospect with quick feet in small areas and will need time to mature before he is NFL ready. He will need time to switch positions because he has never played inside before. The good news is it is easier to move from tackle to guard than vice versa. He will also need severe development with the strength coach on his upper and lower body. He needs more lower power in drive blocking and only did 14 reps on the bench on his pro day. He will need better core strength as well to handle some of the NFL behemoths he will definitely work against.Miller has practice squad player written all over him. He will need at least one and possibly two years to develop strength and the knowledge to play on the interior line in the NFL. He is a smart kid with the right frame of mind and has a shot to be a player if he puts in the work. We will see if he makes it through training camp first. What do you think? We now await his signing.Edoga is going to have a big opportunity with the team. It won’t be immediate as he is slated to be a depth player for 2019. However, both starting tackles are hitting free agency for the Jets. The team would benefit greatly from a cost controlled tackle like Edoga being able to slide into a starting role in 2020. It would add to the team’s financial flexibility approaching next offseason. Given the lack of investment Mike Maccagnan made in young offensive linemen, Edoga won’t have much competition. The cupboard is bare aside from him.All of that depends on Edoga developing over the next year into the type of player who is capable of starting in the NFL.

Tampa Bay wrapped up its 2019 NFL Draft

class with another defensive addition. Here Chris Conte Jersey White , we have three things you should know about new Bucs defensive tackle Terry Beckner Jr."The Buccaneers finished up the 2019 NFL Draft by going back to the defensive side of the ball. With the 215th overall pick, Tampa Bay selected defensive tackle Terry Beckner Jr. out of Missouri. The addition of Beckner probably doesn’t change Gerald McCoy’s fate — whatever that may be — but it should at least give the Bucs some potential for depth inside of their defensive line. The 6-foot-4, 296-pounder became Tampa Bay’s sixth defensive draft pick in the last three days, which continues what looks to be a defensive overhaul under new coordinator Todd Bowles. Being a seventh-rounder never guarantees anything, but if Beckner can impress in camp, he could be a depth guy for Bowles and his staff.Beckner isn’t the well-known prospect he once was, but the front office saw something in him that warranted a draft pick. Here, we have three things you need to know about new Bucs defensive tackle Terry Beckner Jr.Beckner’s road to the NFL has been a bumpy oneAfter a strong career at East St. Louis High School, Beckner was at the top of the proverbial mountain. According to Rivals, he was the 36th-best recruit in the country. ESPN had him as high as second in 2015. According to an April 23 article from Yahoo Sports, he was considered a better prospect than many well-known guys today:Those guys are pretty highly-regarded these days. So, what happened to Beckner? Well, his career at Missouri didn’t get off to a great start. He earned Freshman All-American honors in 2015, picking up 27 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and three sacks. However, his season came to an early end after he tore his ACL and MCL in November. He worked his way back slowly and was more of a reserve in 2016, but that season also ended early due to him tearing his other ACL. He eventually had a breakout 2017 season, with 38 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and seven sacks. He returned to the Tigers for his senior year and was once again pretty solid, but his injury history meant his draft stock was pretty low.Despite the fall from being a top-rated recruit, Beckner will get a chance to prove that he still has production in him when he heads to camp with the Bucs.Despite his size and success, Beckner is pretty low-keyA January article from The Kansas City Star talked about Beckner’s arrival and early days with Missouri http://www.buccaneerslockerroom.com/authentic-shaquil-barrett-jersey , and it’s somewhat surprising to learn that a 6-foot-4 Division I defensive tackle — who was also one of the top recruits at his school — was looking to avoid attention. Here’s an excerpt from the article:But the summer of 2015, Missouri volleyball player Alyssa Munlyn noticed Beckner’s absence as she grew close with fellow Tigers freshmen athletes. He never relaxed with her group of friends. She didn’t know anything about him.In this day and age, especially with social media dominating everything, a lot of top recruits and NFL prospects love to be flashy. There’s a certain swagger that a lot of guys like to carry. So, when someone likes to keep a lower profile and avoid attention, it’s pretty out of the norm. The story goes on to say that Beckner grew into his role with the Tigers, but that he “still doesn’t care much for attention.” Tampa is probably a big enough city for Beckner to blend in and not get bothered too much, right? Beckner is the second Missouri product on the Bucs’ current roster and just the third player the franchise has drafted from the schoolWhen Beckner makes his way to Tampa, he will have one fellow Missouri Tiger waiting for him in the locker room. That would be quarterback Blaine Gabbert, who himself is new to the Bucs this season. Gabbert played at Missouri from 2008-2010, throwing for 6,822 yards and 40 touchdowns on top of a 60.9 percent completion rate. The 2019 season will be his ninth year in the league.Beckner is also just the third Missouri player to ever be drafted by Tampa Bay. The most recent was guard Carl Bax (200th overall in 1989), and before that, it was Buccaneer legend James Wilder (34th overall in 1981). That also makes Beckner the first defensive player from Missouri ever drafted by the Bucs. He is the fourth 2019 Bucs draftee from the SEC and the 17th former SEC player on the team’s current roster (this doesn’t include Gabbert, who played in the Big 12 when he was at Missouri). You can find Terry Beckner Jr. on Twitter at @TBckner. Take some time to congratulate him and welcome him to Tampa Bay.Stock up, stock down: Bears vs. Chiefs The preseason is in the books for any Bears player that will make an impact in Week 1. While a few key rotational and backup spots were played out on Saturday at Soldier Field, there wasn’t much in the way of key contributors. There is still a lot to dissect, though. Here are players that shined and some that didn’t against the Chiefs. Stock upJavon Wims, WR - Wims made this team Saturday in all likelihood. Against Kansas City’s starters, the Georgia product managed to make some big plays and scored an athletic, toe-tapping touchdown. Wims appears to be a potential gem find in the seventh round, although his path to being a rookie contributor seems unlikely unless there is an injury run.Isaiah Irving O. J. Howard Jersey White , OLB - I could lump Kylie Fitts in here too because both were great last weekend. Irving gets the nod due to his six tackles, which tied for the Bears team lead. He also had a sack, two quarterback hits, and a tackle for loss. Fitts had a sack and two quarterback hits.Ben Braunecker, TE - “Braunk” made the most of his opportunities, catching two of three targets for 31 yards. That wasn’t eye-popping, but Braunecker seemed comfortable and looked decent as a blocker. Stock downDeiondre Hall, CB - Hall played a ton and tied for the team lead in tackles, but according to Pro Football Focus, he was targeted the most with six passes coming his way (tied for the team lead with Kevin Tolliver). In the process, Hall allowed four catches for 54 yards, including 45 yards coming after the catch. Hall will get a long look on Thursday against the Bills. With his upcoming suspension coming, it appears he could be a long shot.Taquan Mizzell, RB - Mizzell excited some fans when he signed with the team last year, but he hasn’t show much in the way of playmaking. He is averaging just 2.3 yards per carry this preseason and doesn’t look like an NFL back. For comparison, Nall has three more carries than Mizzell but is averaging 5.1 YPC. Bradley Sowell, T - Sowell was pushed around again and then, through no fault of his own, got caught up in a pile and was rolled up on by a teammate. Sowell has struggled before the injury and now with his availability in question, the Bears need to look to find a swing tackle they feel comfortable with heading into the regular season.

With Coleman landing on the injured reserve, the Niners were always going to bring in another veteran offensive linemen. On Monday morning the team signed former Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Sam Young.Young has played in the NFL for a decade now and has 21 starts in 88 games for the Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Dolphins. The sixth-round pick in the 2010 draft spent the last three seasons with the Dolphins and had visits with the Saints, Jets, and Bills earlier this offseason. In 2018 he played 121 snaps. Eighty-five at right tackle Tom Rathman Jersey , 28 at left tackle, and the other eight came as an inline tight end. Today is defensive tackle Cedric ThorntonPDTShareTweetShareShare49ers 90-in-90: DT Cedric ThorntonAt one point in his career, Cedric Thornton was solid depth for an NFL team. He didn’t have the stats that wow’d you over, but he wasn’t an awful fill-in defensive tackle. At this point in his career, after retiring once already, Thornton is coming to the San Francisco 49ers http://www.49erslockerroom.com/authentic-deion-sanders-jersey , a team that has a very young defensive line. They have Solomon Thomas in a new scheme that will take advantage of him in the interior, D.J. Jones, Kentavius Street, and Sheldon Day all ready as solid depth. Can Thornton force one of those guys off and carve out a roster spot? His stats are nothing to write about. His best season came in 2014 where he caused two fumbles and ran one back for a touchdown. He’s only had one season with more than one sack, and that was in 2017 with the Buffalo Bills. He could offer substantial depth if not for the fact he’s been out of football for a year and he’s got a lot of young, draft invested players in front of him. Basic infoAge:30 (turns 31 June 21) Experience: sixth seasonHeight: 6’4 Weight: 290Cap StatusHe signed a one-year $915,000 contract. What to expect in 2019Thornton’s been out of football for a year. That http://www.49erslockerroom.com/authentic-kyle-juszczyk-jersey , combined with his age of 31, limited production in his career, and the youth at the defensive line of the ball makes for a very difficult road to travel. There’s not much he can do that the youngsters can’t and he’s at a point in his career where he’s not worth an investment in development. Expect a veteran defensive tackle who will compete in training camp. If he suits up on gameday, something has gone horribly, horribly wrong. Right now, there’s a hoard of defensive tackles on the roster and limited roster space. It’s hard to envision Thornton being on the 53-man roster. Odds of making the rosterThe tackles are a young group and they have a lot of talent waiting to be unleashed. Thornton is on the wrong side of 30 and trying to get back into a league he retired from a year ago. He’s a Week 4 preseason starter. It will be interesting to see if he lands anywhere in the NFL for 2019.

According to several sources, including Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network and Field Yates of ESPN, the two sides agreed to a contract that will have a max value of $4.55 million, with a base value of $3 million and a $550,000 signing bonus. The $3 million base salary represents 1.51 percent of Buffalo’s total salary-cap figure in 2019.The terms of the contract appear to be reasonable, given Alexander’s contributions to Leslie Frazier’s 4-3 defense and on special teams. Alexander, Buffalo’s defensive captain, appeared in all 16 games (eight starts), making 6.5 sacks (second-most on the team) to go with 74 tackles (11.5 for losses) Phillip Gaines Jersey , ten quarterback hits, nine passes defensed, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and a career-best two interceptions. The versatile Alexander, who was Buffalo’s Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee for the 2018 season, is capable of lining up as an outside linebacker or along the defensive line as an edge rusher or even interior lineman. He is adept as a run-stuffer and in pass coverage. Alexander’s presence played a large role in Buffalo’s top-notch defense, and talented youngsters like Tremaine Edmunds and Matt Milano should continue to benefit from having Alexander—a One Man Gang—on the team. This is Alexander’s third contract with the Bills. In 2016, he signed a one-year deal for the league minimum of less than $1 million. Alexander rewarded the Bills with a breakout season Womens Marshall Newhouse Jersey , earning a Pro Bowl nod after leading the team with 12.5 sacks. Following his dominant debut, Alexander inked a two-year, $5.95 million contract in 2017. Alexander, 35, was slated to become an unrestricted free agent in March but had expressed a strong interest in playing one more season in Western New York. Now, he gets that wish. No details were available on the nature of the incentives built into the contract. Kyle Williams had $500,000 available in per-game incentives a year ago and a $150,000 bonus for collecting six sacks on the year. It’s likely Alexander’s incentives are a mixture of games active and performance, as well. After a potential trade for then-Steelers receiver Antonio Brown fell through http://www.thebillslockerroom.com/authentic-harrison-phillips-jersey , Bills G.M. Brandon Beane said that “our focus is on free agency.鈥?And he meant it.Giants G.M. Dave Gettleman, who said on multiple occasions that the Giants didn’t sign receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to a long-term deal in order to trade him, picked up the phone after learned about Buffalo’s failed quest for Brown and called Beane about Beckham, according to Peter King of .“Beane didn鈥檛 bite,” King writes. It’s unclear why Beane wasn’t interested. If, however, there was any truth whatsoever to the notion that Brown ultimately balked about being traded to Buffalo, Beane surely didn’t want or need Beckham doing the same thing. Because if Beane and the Bills were interested in Brown from a football standpoint despite the things that made him no longer welcome in Pittsburgh, Beane should have been more than interested in Beckham from a football standpoint despite the things that made him no longer welcome in New York. That was the only call Gettleman made Chris Ivory Jersey , opting not to launch a full-blown effort to shop Beckham. Setting aside whether it was a wise move to trade Beckham at all, it was prudent to wait for the phone to ring, if the goal was to trade him. The fact that Gettleman made even one call shows that this wasn’t a case where the Browns made the Giants an offer they couldn’t refuse; instead, the Giants were ready to move on from Beckham, and it was a question of getting an offer that they deemed sufficient.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — With a week to go before the NFL draft, Saquon Barkley hasn’t gotten a lot of calls from the top prospects wanting to know what to expect next week.A few former Penn State teammates have reached out to the New York Giants running back, and the only message the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year gave them was to be ready when the season starts. It’s the attitude he took last year Youth Ryan Connelly Jersey , and nothing has changed, even with the recent trade of star wide receiver and good friend Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns.Speaking after an organized team activity on Thursday, Barkley is looking for new things to challenge him. He wants to improve his pass blocking and catching the ball and being more of a leader in his second season. The one thing that doesn’t need help is his running. The No. 2 pick overall in last year’s draft ran for a franchise-rookie record 1,307 yards and 11 touchdowns, including a long of 78 yards. He also led the team in receiving with 91 catches and four touchdowns. What Barkley wants is anything that can help the Giants win.“My competitive nature would love to be the best player in the league and the best running back in the league, but I think you could make an argument that I was one of the best running backs in the league last year and we went 5-11 to account for it,” Barkley said. “My mindset is whatever it takes to take this team to another level and compete for a championship, whether that is 2 Womens Ryan Connelly Jersey ,000 yards, 1,500 yards or 800 yards.”Looking to the draft, Barkley doesn’t intend to watch much of it. He felt the draft lasted too long last year, and it was over for him after the second pick. However, he knows what the Giants need.“Just guys that love the game,” Barkley said. “That is the biggest thing I have learned so far in my one year in the NFL. Just guys that love the game and love competing, whether you are 2-14 or 14-2. I know I sound like a broken record because I said it before Authentic Ryan Connelly Jersey , but it is truly what it takes.”General manager Dave Gettleman didn’t shed much light on who the Giants would take with the sixth and 17th overall picks in the first round next Thursday. The Giants need pass rushers, an offensive tackle, defensive backs and a quarterback to replace 38-year-old Eli Manning. While many hope Gettleman takes an heir apparent for Manning, he insists there is no pressure to take a quarterback.“I am just saying I won’t force a pick,” Gettleman said. “You can’t draft for need. You will get screwed every time and make a mistake.”Gettleman said this is a deep draft and there is a lot of value in the first four rounds, which is good for the Giants, who have 12 picks. He added he would make a trade if it helped get a player the team coveted.“First, second Ryan Connelly Jersey Boys , third-round draft picks at the very least, you are looking for a big rotational player,” Gettleman said. “Everyone talks about the way the league is going down, 65-70% of the time you have your defensive sub package in. You can easily make the argument that your nickel is your starter. You can make that argument. Your third wide is your starter. That is what you are looking at. Guys that walk on the field and help you win now. Anything after that is a huge bonus.”

The Patriots were also an underdog in the season opener of 2016 when Brady was suspended, but they defeated the Arizona Cardinals 23-21.Other oddsmakers didn’t have the Patriots as underdogs to the Bills Danny Etling Jerseys 2019 , with Pro Football Reference noting that the last time Brady was an underdog was in 2014 on the road against the Green Bay Packers. The Patirots were underdogs four times in 2014, going 3-1.The Chiefs are considered a powerhouse this year and easily dispatched the Indianapolis Colts in the divisional round. Do you think the Patriots will beat the Chiefs next week? Bill Belichick will probably never see it, but Patriots linebacker Kyle Van Noy left a thank you note on social media for his coach anyway on Thursday"Happy anniversary to me and my trade day! What a day that turned out to be!" Van Noy wrote on Twitter to commemorate the two-year anniversary of his trade from the Detroit Lions.Among the hashtags at the end of the post were "thanksbill," a digital shout-out to his notoriously social media averse Patriots coach. It's also was a continued celebration of a journey to New England that Van Noy said he considers to be "a blessing."Van Noy was still trying to find his place in the NFL in 2016 when he got the call that he had been dealt to the perennial Super Bowl contender. Two years White Derek Rivers Jerseys , two Super Bowl appearances, a Super Bowl ring and contract extension later the linebacker has grown into one of the Patriots' key cogs on defense."It's big time," Van Noy said. "Happy to be a part of this."Despite often being the odd man out with the Lions after they drafted him in the second round in 2014, Van Noy arrived in New England and almost immediately found himself being put to use alongside linebacker Dont'a Hightower.Van Noy played both middle and outside linebacker during his seven regular-season appearances in 2016 and was on the field for all three playoff games Derek Rivers Jerseys 2019 , including the comeback Super Bowl win over Atlanta. Those efforts were rewarded last season when the Patriots signed him to a two-year, $11.7 million contract extension."Kyle has a lot of versatility for us. He can do all of the things really that a linebacker needs to do," Belichick said. "Play the run, rush the passer and play in coverage. He does a good job at all of them and his versatility has been valuable for us."Van Noy has validated the faith Belichick showed in him.His 73 combined tackles ranked third on the team in 2017 and his 5陆 sacks were second only to Trey Flowers' 6陆.Van Noy also saw his responsibilities increase White Deatrich Wise Jerseys , including being given the responsibility of wearing the wired helmet to receive the defensive calls from the sideline. The Patriots have struggled to limit teams this season, giving up 400 or more yards in five of their seven games. But Van Noy has remained one of their most consistent players as they've tried to work through their issues. He has started all seven games and is second on the team with 36 total tackles. He also has one of the Patriots' 10 interceptions. In addition, Van Noy has shown value on special teams, scooping up Hightower's blocked punt in the third quarter at Chicago last week and returning it 29 yards for a touchdown in New England' 38-31 win.The Patriots will need a similar output as they prepare for their fourth road game of the season at Buffalo on Monday. New England's win at Chicago is its only win away from Massachusetts this season.Van Noy said sharing the field with Hightower has made him a better player."Playing with someone like him Deatrich Wise Jerseys 2019 , obviously he's an incredible player," Van Noy said. "We know what each other's doing."I've played his position. He's played mine. So it's easy to know what each other has to do. We play off each other. He can count on me and I can count on him. ... We try to have that foundation for the rest of the guys."Notes: Rookie RB Sony Michel (knee), CB Eric Rowe (groin) and OL Brian Schwenke did not participate in practice on Thursday. It is the second straight day that Michel and Rowe were absent from practice this week. Michel was helped off the field in last week's win at Chicago and eventually carted to the locker room after he had his leg pinned underneath him on a tackle by Bears lineman Bilal Nichols. Rowe continues to be dogged by the groin issue that has contributed to him missing three games this season.

We continue today with former Packers running back Ty Montgomery. The 26-year old Montgomery is listed at 6’0” and 215 pounds and was a third round pick out of Stanford in 2015. Having initially been drafted as a wide receiver, Montgomery converted to running back during the 2016 season. During his career, mostly with the Packers, he’s rushed for 932 yards, caught 107 passes and scored 10 touchdowns, plus two more in postseason action. He ended up with the Ravens last year, following a midseason trade.BackgroundMontgomery - a five-sport star in high school - was recruited to Stanford in 2011 and caught 172 passes for 2,125 yards and 15 touchdowns in four years. He also rushed for 334 yards and four touchdowns and accounted for five more touchdowns as a return man. After being a solid role player in his first two years, Montgomery broke out with 61 catches for a career-high 958 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior and earned all-American honors as a return man. As a senior, his production was down but he matched his career-high with 61 receptions and also returned two punts for touchdowns.Montgomery had mixed results at the scouting combine, but was drafted by the Packers in the third round. He showed some flashes as a rookie but ended up with just 15 catches for 136 yards and two scores in six games before landing on injured reserve in December. In 2016, he wasn’t seeing much playing time at wide receiver but was called into action as a running back following a series of injuries. He fared well in this role, catching 10 passes in consecutive weeks and then breaking out with a 162-yard rushing performance in December. The switch to running back was confirmed as permanent at that time, as Montgomery helped the Packers reach the NFC title game with 81 yards from scrimmage and two scores in a narrow win over Dallas. In 2017, Montgomery opened the year as the starting running back but his season was blighted by injuries, causing him to miss eight games. His production was down last year and he ended up being hastily traded after a costly fumble in the late stages of a loss to the Rams. The Ravens, who acquired Montgomery for a future seventh-round pick Color Rush Blessuan Austin Jersey , saw modest production from Montgomery (148 yards from scrimmage) in his six regular season games with them and he returned kick-offs for them in their lone play-off game. However, they opted not to re-sign him.The Jets elected to sign Montgomery to a one-year deal for the veteran’s minimum last week. Now let’s take a look at what Montgomery brings to the table, divided into categories.Measurables/AthleticismMontgomery has pretty good size for the running back position and showcased his athleticism with an impressive 40.5” vertical at the scouting combine. He ran 4.55 in the 40-yard dash but posted average agility numbers. He did the bench press at his pro day, posting 16 reps.UsageThe switch from wide receiver to running back wasn’t as out there as it first seemed, given that he had played the position in high school and carried the ball 23 times in his senior year in college.Although Montgomery plays the majority of his reps in the backfield, he’s obviously also comfortable lining up out wide or in the slot.Running abilityMontgomery took to the running back position well, faring well on plays where he had a one cut read or could follow a blocker on an iso play.He made decisive upfield cuts, showed good burst and flashed the ability to elude the first man at the second level.During the 2017 offseason, after the move to running back had been made permanent, Montgomery worked with a coach nicknamed “The Footwork King”, Rischad Whitfield, after which he seemed to run with a more balanced style. Whitfield has also worked with Le’Veon Bell and, after spending time with him, Montgomery started to show some of the same patience in his running style.Montgomery has been more of a rotational back than a workhorse, carrying more than 10 times in just three games. The most carries he ever had was in 2017’s season opener where he gained just 54 yards on 19 carries.Pass catchingThe majority of Montgomery’s production in the passing game has been on dump-off passes and check downs, but his ability to follow his blockers and be elusive in space is useful, as is his ability to finish runs strongly.Downfield threatEven when he was at wide receiver, virtually all of Montgomery’s production came as a possession receiver on short passes. He caught a few passes over the middle but never really showed much ability to get downfield separation. However, last season Youth Blessuan Austin Jersey , he had the longest reception of his career on this blown coverage as he ran a route out of the backfield.RoutesAlthough he’s mostly been used as a possession option, Montgomery’s experience as a wide receiver makes him comfortable with route running assignments. The Packers perhaps didn’t attempt to exploit this as much as they could have, though.HandsEven though he spent a year and a half as a receiver, Montgomery has an impressive 82 percent catch rate at the NFL level, although - as noted - most of these were short passes and therefore high-percentage throws. In his highlight reel, Montgomery has made a few diving catches although one of these could arguably have been ruled as a drop because it hit the turf and seemed to move. Overall, Montgomery hasn’t had many drops, but this one was costly.Red zoneAs a receiver, Montgomery only had one touchdown in the red zone, as he lost his man on an out-breaking route to the pylon.Short yardageIn regular season action, Montgomery has three touchdown runs from the goal line and three more from inside the five-yard line. He also has another two short touchdowns in postseason action.BlockingMontgomery graded out reasonably well as a run blocker while he was a wide receiver and has adjusted well to the blitz pick-up responsibilities of being a running back.He has worked hard at improving in that area but there are times when he has lapses and surrenders pressure.PhysicalityMontgomery is good at using his speed to bounce outside, but generated the majority of his production on runs up the middle. He finishes runs well and also shows off a nasty stiff-arm.Special TeamsIn college, Montgomery put up great numbers as a return man with five total touchdowns. He was third in the nation in kick return yardage in his junior year. He has less experience as a punt returner, but averaged almost 20 yards per return and had two scores when given the role in his senior year.At the pro level, Montgomery has had plenty of work as a kick-off returner but has averaged a pedestrian 22 yards per return with a longest return of 46 yards.Other than as a return man, Montgomery has just one special teams tackle and two penalties as a blocker. He also had one roughing the kicker penalty, but did block this punt.InstinctsMontgomery showed off his football IQ on this play which he fielded with his feet out of bounds so the resultant penalty flag moved the ball out to the 40.He seems to show improving vision and instincts as a runner and his experience as a receiver will no doubt help him in the passing game.AttitudePrior to his trade from Green Bay to Baltimore, Montgomery was involved in a controversial incident which saw him fumble on a kick-off return with two minutes left in the 29-27 loss to the Rams. The fumble basically ended the game, as reports suggested Montgomery had defied an order to take a knee Womens Blessuan Austin Jersey , preventing a furious Aaron Rodgers from getting a chance to win the game on the ensuing drive. While Montgomery was disappointed to see his character called into question - and was backed up by some teammates - it obviously unsettled the roster and led to his exit. The media had been told that Montgomery had “thrown a tantrum” on the sidelines after being taken out of the game a few minutes before his fumble. He otherwise is considered as having a good attitude and his position switch was viewed as a selfless team-first move.On the field, his discipline is good. He’s only had three offensive penalties.InjuriesWhile at college, Montgomery was diagnosed with the sickle-cell trait which is often thought to lead to the potential for more injuries. However, he’s said to have it under control. He has had some injury issues over the course of his career though, including an ankle injury late in his rookie year which landed him on injured reserve and required offseason surgery that caused him to miss most of the following offseason program. In 2017, he missed time with broken ribs and then injured them again and missed more time later in the year. Then he landed on injured reserve with a late season wrist injury. He missed three games last year, but these were as a healthy scratch.Scheme FitThe Packers operate a zone blocking scheme much like Frank Pollack, the Jets’ new offensive line coach, usually does. Montgomery should therefore feel comfortable within the Jets’ system. However, he did enjoy a lot of success out of two-back sets which are something Adam Gase’s offenses don’t seem to use much. His ability to potentially save the Jets a roster spot (or an active spot on gameday) by being an option to fill in at wide receiver will be attractive from a roster management perspective.ConclusionsWhile Montgomery has experience and has shown he can be productive at the NFL level, it would be premature to assume the number two running back role will belong to him. He’s only signed a one-year deal and can easily be released if the team opts to go in another direction, so must stay healthy to earn his spot. The Jets may be hoping that youngsters Elijah McGuire and Trenton Cannon can elevate their game to challenge Montgomery for that role.In a similar situation last year, veteran Thomas Rawls failed to beat out the younger incumbents. With both McGuire and Cannon - in addition to Bell - being adept pass catchers, Montgomery fits well within this stable of backs and his additional potential contributions on special teams could provide further value. Another cast-off from the failed AAF is getting a look from NFL teams.According to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com, the New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings will host former Memphis Express quarterback Brandon Silvers for workouts next week.Silvers was unrafted in 2017 out of Troy University. Silvers got a chance to play with Memphis after Christian Hackenberg was benched and Zach Mettenberger was injured. He completed 80 of 125 passes for 799 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions. As a senior at Troy, he completed 63.9 percent of his passes for 3,290 yards with 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions. The Vikings have been looking for quarterback depth and had Sean Mannion in for a visit earlier this week. Meanwhile, the Jets signed former Vikings backup Trevor Siemian and brought back Davis Webb as a third option. They’re also still waiting to find out if Josh McCown wants to continue playing football or not.

In the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft Womens Ryan Smith Jersey , Tampa Bay finally addressed its offense. Here, we have three things you should know about new Bucs wide receiver Scotty Miller."The Buccaneers used their first six picks in the 2019 NFL Draft without taking an offensive player. The first five guys were on the defensive side of the ball, then the sixth was a kicker. Well, with a sixth round selection (the 208th overall pick), Tampa Bay took wide receiver Scotty Miller out of Bowling Green.Ever since Adam Humphries signed with Tennessee in free agency, talks about his replacement have been ongoing. Clemson’s Hunter Renfrow was a popular name, both because he was well-known and because he came from Humphries alma mater. After Renfrow went to Oakland in the fifth round, the Bucs brought in Miller, another guy who fits the Humphries mold. At 5-foot-9, Miller is a little bit smaller than the former Buc and current Titan, but his speed is better.Miller joins the competition for the team’s open roster spot(s) at wide receiver. Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Breshad Perriman are obviously the top three starters, but some mix of Miller, Bobo Wilson, Justin Watson and Sergio Bailey will join them on the active roster. Here, we have three things you need to know about new Bucs wide receiver Scotty Miller.Miller’s speed is elite, which makes him a good fit in TampaA lot was said throughout Thursday, Friday and a lot of Saturday about new Bucs head coach Bruce Arians not getting any new offensive guys to work with. Of course, Arians is an offensive guy, so there was some expectation that the team might address that side of the ball at some point. It took a while, but the player that the team settled on fits the ideal characteristics of a slot receiver in Arians’ system. Miller is undersized, but he is extremely quick. At his pro day, he ran a 4.39-second 40-yard dash. For reference, Adam Humphries’ 40 time at his pro day was 4.53 seconds. With that kind of speed, it’s not much of a shocker that Miller is a former track star. At Barrington High School, he was a three-year varsity football player AND a three-year letterman in track. That speed was put on display with Bowling Green, making him an under-the-radar prospect in this year’s draft. His NFL.com draft profile touts his “legitimate sprinter’s speed” and the “early acceleration to blow past mismatched cornerbacks from slot.” Speed aside, Miller is a good fit for the slot position under Arians. Not only that, but Jameis Winston had an excellent connection with Humphries. With him gone, it sure would be huge for the next man up to step right in and develop a rapport with Tampa Bay’s quarterback. Miller’s draft profile also talks of his “impressive catch finishing through heavy collisions.” Which former Buc does that remind you of? All right, enough with the comparisons. The point is, Miller could be a viable contender for a role on the team, even coming out of the sixth round.Miller is the definition of overlookedIn high school, Miller played free safety as a sophomore and then played on both sides of the ball in his junior and senior seasons. He had 1,500 receiving yards and 28 total touchdowns in his last two seasons at Barrington. That kind of production earned him two all-conference honors and two all-area selections. Despite all of that, he didn’t receive much interest at the Division I level. Bowling Green was the only Division I program to give Miller a shot, and he took it. As a sophomore in 2016, he led the team with 74 catches for 968 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also returned punts and kicks, which added to his resume that earned him a First-Team All-MAC selection. In his junior year, he posted team-highs for catches (63) and yards (722) while picking up four more touchdowns. That season earned him Third-Team All-MAC honors. His senior year in 2018 was what should’ve attracted the most attention. He led the Falcons with 71 catches http://www.buccaneerslockerroom.com/authentic-m.j.-stewart-jersey , 1,148 receiving yards and nine touchdown catches. Miller led the conference in catches and yards, while finishing third in touchdown receptions. Despite being near the top of every category, he was only named to the All-MAC Second Team.In his college career, Miller caught 215 passes for 2,867 yards and 23 touchdowns. He averaged 13.3 yards per catch and totaled 3,736 all-purpose yards. But even with all of that, he didn’t get an invite to the Senior Bowl, the East-West Shrine Game or the NFL Scouting Combine. Being undersized AND playing at the “Group of Five” level can be tough for a prospect, but that doesn’t matter much anymore. Miller is getting his shot with Tampa Bay.Miller showed up in big games at Bowling GreenOne of the big knocks on players from the “Group of Five” conferences is that their level of competition can skew their numbers. Not only that, but their tape might be “deceiving” if they’re matched up with lesser talent than what exists in conferences such as the SEC, ACC and Big Ten. But Miller can push aside all of those doubts while also having proof that he is capable of showing up in big games. An article from The Blade in Toledo pointed out that knack for stepping up on the big stage:That kind of production under the brighter lights is certainly encouraging. In a season-opening matchup at Oregon in 2018, Miller caught 13 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns. Later that month, he put up 117 yards on 10 catches at Georgia Tech. The speedster saved his best game for conference foe Western Michigan, as he caught eight passes for 206 yards and two scores. Overall, Miller had six 100-yard receiving games in 2018. His size didn’t seem to matter much in college. He can clearly play. Now, he’ll set out to prove that at the professional level with the Buccaneers. You can find Scotty Miller on Twitter at @ScottyMillz1. Take some time to congratulate him and welcome him to Tampa Bay. Well that was fun. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 2-0 for the first time since 2010, after beating the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles 27-21. It wasn’t as back and forth as week one, but that’s okay. It’s important for teams to be able to win in different ways and the Bucs did just that today. It’s always fun when the team plays well because you have several “top performers” to choose from. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick - Another outstanding performance from “Fitzmagic”. It almost felt like a dream after the first play of the game went for a 75 yard touchdown to DeSean Jackson. It was like Deja vu from last week. From that point on, Fitzpatrick was in a rhythm and in control of the offense once again. It isn’t just the explosive plays that have Fitzpatrick on fire right now, it’s the crucial 3rd and 4 passes that kept the clock moving on Sunday afternoon. Fitzpatrick finished 27-33 for 402 yards and four touchdowns. He topped his completion percentage from last week (75%) and finished with 81% this week. The Buccaneers have a quarterback dilemma on their hands.O.J. Howard - Howard got off to a bit of a rough start in the game today. His bobbled pass turned into an interception and then he had negative yards on a catch, but that changed quickly. With 4:51 left in the second quarter, Howard lined up in the slot, ran a little slant route and simply took off. The play resulted in a 75 yard touchdown and gave Tampa momentum as half time approached. The big play ability from not only Howard, but from everyone on this offense is insane and really fun to watch. Howard finished with three catches for 96 yards and a touchdown. I really don’t know how you are supposed to defend him. It’s damn near impossible. DeSean Jackson - Remember when some Buccaneer fans were hammering for the team to trade D-Jax in the off season? Good times. He was questionable all week, but you knew Jackson was going to do everything he could to play against his former team. The deep threat ability is still there of course, but the team is lining him up all over the place and the difference between this year and last, is night and day. Jackson, finished with four catches, for 129 yards and a touchdown. Through two games, Jackson has nine catches for 275 yards and three touchdowns. That’s an average of 30.5 YPC.Ryan Smith - Give credit where credit’s due. Ryan Smith needed to show up today and have a good performance in place of the injured Brent Grimes and he did just that. In fact, Smith played the best game of his career this afternoon. He led the team in solo tackles with seven and was tied for the team lead in total tackles with nine. Smith, also had two pass breakups and two great tackles in punt coverage. It’ll be a big test next week for Smith when Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster come down to Tampa. Kwon Alexander - The heart and soul of the Buccaneers defense showed up in a big way today. Kwon finished the game with six solo tackles, but three of them were tackles for loss. Kwon also forced a fumble after he sacked Nick Foles late in the first quarter. Unfortunately, the Buccaneers didn’t capitalize on it, but nonetheless, it was the second straight game that Kwon has forced a big fumble. With every play he makes, the salary he will command next summer continues to grow. Honorable mentions: Jason Pierre-Paul, Carlton Davis III and Bucs O-line in pass protection.

Likewise, the San Francisco 49ers (which play in Santa Clara) have not waived their territorial rights to the city for which the franchise is named. There was a clear sense last week in Atlanta that the Raiders eventually will spend 2019 in Oakland. And that outcome could unfold like this: The league tells the 49ers to choose between letting the Raiders play in San Francisco or inviting the Raiders to share space at Levi’s Stadium. Then, if the 49ers choose Levi’s Stadium, the league tells the Raiders to choose between Levi’s Stadium and Oakland. However it plays out http://www.49erslockerroom.com/authentic-joe-staley-jersey , the Raiders are expected to remain in the Bay Area for 2019. Despite the pending litigation, it won’t be a surprise if they stay in Oakland.

It’s getting harder to gain an edge in daily fantasy football with more research tools and advanced statistics.Similar research processes lead many daily players to the same plays each given week.Last week Dion Dawkins Jerseys Stitched , DailyRoto’s Colin Drew won more than $250,000 using a lineup optimizer to identify pivots — key spots to use players who won’t be widely owned in large tournaments. Pivoting away from popular players and toward alternatives in a similar price range lets fantasy owners differentiate their lineups, distinctions that become important when trying to break away from the pack in large tournament fields.Drew’s highest scoring lineup featured Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers at just 3 percent ownership, stacked with Packers wideouts Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. This trio was a profitable pivot from the more popular stacks in the Steelers-Falcons game.In Week 6, one of the league’s top tight ends and a certain defense are being priced reasonably across daily fantasy platforms and will likely prove to be popular. If fantasy owners dig a bit deeper, they can find alternatives that are also enticing.PIVOT: ERIC EBRON TO CAMERON BRATEThus far, the Colts tight end Ebron leads all tight ends with 12 red zone targets and has scored more DraftKings fantasy points than any player at the position over the last three weeks, since teammate Jack Doyle went down. During that span, Ebron has garnered the third-highest target share of any TE and the second most targets overall. This week, he faces a Jets defense that ranks 20th against the TE according to Football Outsiders’ defense-adjusted value over average (DVOA) metric, although they have only allowed 33.4 yards per game to the position.Due to Ebron’s heavy usage, especially down by the goal line, he will inevitably be popular this week. There’s a strong case for using Tampa Bay’s Cameron Brate instead.Brate is cheaper across the industry and will be squaring off against a Falcons team that has been playing in shootouts — nearly 60 total points have been scored on average in Atlanta’s games. Atlanta has a high-powered offense and its already mediocre defense lost safety Keanu Neal and linebacker Deion Jones for the season. The Bucaneers have already switched to Jameis Winston at quarterback Matt Milano Jersey , meaning brighter days should be ahead for Brate even before factoring in the injury to O.J. Howard. According to Rotoviz, Brate has averaged 5.21 targets per game, 42.3 yards per game, 3.4 receptions per game, 0.5 touchdowns per game and 10.7 point-per-reception fantasy points per game in games where Winston has thrown at least 15 passes. Brate saw less usage in the five games where Winston did not meet that threshold, due to being inactive or getting hurt.Even with Howard on the team, Brate ranked 17th among TEs in red zone target share and 13th at targets at the position last year. With Howard out of the picture, Brate can reasonably be projected for a similar market share to Ebron — and Winston has shown an affinity for him. The matchup is nowhere near as favorable on paper, as the Falcons rank fifth in DVOA versus the position, but they do not have a single linebacker who grades inside the Top 50 at the position in coverage, per Pro Football Focus. The combination of cheaper price and increased opportunity trumps the supposedly inferior matchup.PIVOT: TEXANS DEFENSE TO BILLS DEFENSEThe public is undoubtedly going to have interest in targeting a defense against the lowly Bills offense that has averaged fewer yards per game than any team other than the Cardinals. Through five games, the Bills have turned the ball over eight times, and the thought of J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney getting after Josh Allen is tough to ignore. Allen has been sacked more than any other QB in the league and his 60.4 QB rating rates worst of all the 35 qualified signal-callers.Even so Jim Kelly Jersey , defense is a tough position to spend up on in daily fantasy because that leads to skimping on offensive players who possess more upside. The difference between the Texans and the Bills is the equivalent of the pricing difference between Jarvis Landry and Julio Jones or even the difference between Nyheim Hines and T.J. Yeldon this week on DraftKings. There is no need to miss out on a true WR1 or a workhorse back because of a defense when the Bills legitimately find themselves in an ideal spot to succeed, too.Houston’s offensive line has allowed a 7.5 percent pressure rate, the fifth highest in the league, and the Bills convert pressures into sacks at a league-average 12 percent rate. However, the last time they faced a bottom-tier offensive line, they sacked Kirk Cousins four times and forced him to fumble twice.Deshaun Watson is battling a chest injury and a total has not yet been released for the game likely due to the uncertainty around his status. Obviously, his absence would enhance the matchup, but even if he were to play, the Bills have yet to allow 300 yards passing in a game and they have played Philip Rivers, Cousins and Rodgers. Since Week 3, Buffalo has allowed exactly one passing TD versus Cousins, Rodgers and Marcus Mariota and they have induced eight turnovers over that time frame. PFF grades the Texans offensive line as the sixth worst run-blocking unit and the Bills defensive line as the ninth best pass-rushing unit. The Texans have passed the ball on about 60 percent of their plays in two of the last three games, and Lamar Miller has been brutal (10th worst Pro Football Focus grade of any back with at least 50 rushing attempts) Womens Thurman Thomas Jersey , so there will be plenty of drop-backs for the Bills to get after the QB.If needing salary relief, or just simply looking to be contrarian, look no further than a Bills defense that is greatly underappreciated due to the poor public perception of the team. E.J. Gaines earned rave reviews in his first stint with Buffalo. We turn to the All-22 to see if his year in Cleveland changed anything"WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections NewsNotesOpinionAnalysisDiscussionPodcastNFL DraftSalary CapNFL Free AgencyAnalysisNotesAll-22 analysis: the return of corner E.J. GainesNew,11commentsE.J. Gaines earned rave reviews in his first stint with Buffalo. We turn to the All-22 to see if his year in Cleveland changed anything EDTShareTweetShareShareAll-22 analysis: the return of corner E.J. GainesJust over a year ago, during our annual player evaluations cornerback E.J. Gaines was given a glowing review by yours truly. Gaines was highly regarded as an excellent fit in Buffalo’s scheme. At the time it was noted that, even with injury concerns, finding a replacement for Gaines would be a gamble. The Buffalo Bills elected to try their luck and let Gaines leave. Playing in six games last year with the Cleveland Browns (notching defensive time in only four) it appears that the Bills won their bet. And now they’re betting on Gaines again. With his return, we look at his past season’s performance to see if a healthy Gaines is still worth gushing over. Play 1E.J. Gaines wasn’t noted to have elite athletic traits and we can see here and elsewhere that this is still the case. He’s no slouch, either, as the closing speed on the tackle in this clip shows. Even average athleticism looks sharp when a player is reacting as quickly as Gaines tends to, however. Gaines is the first to the ball not because he’s the fastest, but because he was the first to see the play and do something about it. Play 2Here’s some more of that excellent read and react from E.J. Gaines. Playing deep, Gaines is tasked with keeping an eye on a large part of the field and helping where it’s needed. As soon as Derek Carr commits to the pass http://www.thebillslockerroom.com/authentic-bruce-smith-jersey , Gaines is moving into position to help out. He cuts in behind rather than attacking straight. This provides a nice safety net in case the ball is caught and also puts him in the path of the ball in case of a tip or overthrow. He’s rewarded with the ball on this play. I should also point out that E.J. Gaines did not enter this game as a starter. He came in midway after Terrance Mitchell exited with an arm injury. Play 3There are a few things to take in here. No player is perfect and Gaines can be beat. An extended arm and sharp turn give the receiver plenty of room to make the catch. Gaines doesn’t quit on the play and uses the next turn (a cut upfield) to get in position to make the tackle. Play 4Sometimes an incompletion is a good thing. Gaines reads Carr again and cuts right around Jordy Nelson (#82) for what would have been a tackle for a loss. Gaines doesn’t overpower Nelson or burn around the edge. He’s simply the first one to react to the play again. Play 5E.J. Gaines had an “eye-popping for all the wrong reasons” three passes defended. That’s a third of what Lorenzo Alexander had and one quarter what Tremaine Edmunds did as a rookie. Adjusting for playing time, Gaines had one pass defended roughly every 60 plays. Alexander was one pass defended every 70 plays and Edmunds was one every 77 plays. So in truth, Gaines was quite efficient when healthy. For further reference, league leader Kyle Fuller (21 passes defended) had one every 48 plays. Play 6Gaines uses his ability to diagnose the play pretty well in run support too. Gaines raises his hands to ward off the initial blocker. It’s not much, but just enough to not get hung up. Gaines then scoot around the edge and takes that away, driving back the play to an occupied lane. Play 7This play looks very ho-hum on the surface. The play results in an interception, but Gaines had nothing to do with that. The play was selected because E.J. Gaines needs to know where his zone ends and when to pass off a receiver under the Sean McDermott and Leslie Frazier scheme. Gaines understands where his teammates are. As a result he’s usually right where he needs to be. Play 8To close, this clip shows Gaines at full tilt. He’s fast enough to make this footrace very competitive and is nearly there to break up the pass. Gaines also takes an angle that allows him the best chance to get there in time. SummaryIn Buffalo during the 2017 season, E.J. Gaines played at a very high level—when healthy. With a little more than two games to work from in 2018, Gaines seemed to be just as strong of a player with the Browns, but his time was limited by a knee injury and two concussions. If Gaines can put the injuries behind him this is an excellent addition to the Bills’ secondary (again).

Moore appeared in state Superior Court in Union County on Monday to face charges of third-degree aggravated assault.According to a criminal complaint, the unidentified woman, who told authorities she had been dating Moore since January, stopped by his home in Linden late Thursday. When she arrived, another woman came out of Moore’s home and the two women began to fight, according to the complaint. When the first woman fell to the ground, the complaint said, Moore stepped on her neck. So too, does ownership and head coach Pat Shurmur. Yet while all the key decision makers involved seem to realize that at some point they’re going to need to step outside of the comfort zone that Manning has afforded them since 2004, there appears to have been a bit of a reluctance to do so.How so? Gettleman has said in the past that you can’t force a decision at quarterback, that if you make a mistake, you’re going to regret it.To a degree, he’s correct. The last thing a franchise that is trying to become relevant needs is to continue whiffing on draft picks, especially at high-profile positions such as quarterback. But whereas years ago when a team made a mistake on a quarterback and had to compound it for multiple years due to the salary cap implications, the current CBA has given teams a quicker out should a player not develop as expected.Let’s go back in time for a moment to the year 2010. In that draft class, the then St. Louis Rams selected quarterback Sam Bradford No. 1 overall and gave him a six-year, $78.045 million contract with $50 million guaranteed (the largest such deal given to an NFL rookie at the time) before he even played a down in an NFL regular-season game.Because of the structure of the contract, the Rams had little choice but to sink or swim with Bradford at the helm. As we all know by now, they ended up doing the latter. Bradford, who finished with an 18-30-1 record for them, completed just 58.6 percent of his pass attempts for 11 Christopher Slayton NFL Jersey ,065 yards, 59 touchdowns, and 38 interceptions as a Ram before becoming a journeyman. The current CBA eliminated this risk by imposing contract limitations on the rookie class. These limitations include paying players based on what overall draft slot they were chosen. The new CBA takes a little bit of the risk out of investing in a franchise type player because the cost is so much lower. So if that if the player doesn’t pan out as expected, teams can more easily move on and start over. (Of course, if they’re starting over annually, then the team better look long and hard at their drafting process.)So what does this have to do with the Giants and taking a quarterback this year?Very rarely does a team hit on all of its draft picks. In fact, the more picks a team has, the more likely there will be a whiff or two in the bunch. With that said, if the Giants grab a quarterback outside of the first round who turns out to be the next franchise quarterback, they will have ended up with a steal in the draft. If that pick doesn’t pan out as the future of the franchise, they can then start again in 2020 while still operating under the current CBA’s terms governing a rookie cap. Meanwhile, they can either look to keep the quarterback chosen in 2019 as a backup, which would then give the team two home-grown signal callers. Why the Giants probably won’t trade for Josh Rosen There is a growing sentiment that if the Cardinals make Josh Rosen available via trade, the Giants should throw their hats in the ring. And why not? Rosen is a solid young prospect on his rookie deal who, if the Cardinals are willing to be reasonable in their pricing demands, such as accepting a third-round pick in this year’s draft and a conditional third in next year’s, wouldn’t cost very much. But there is a caveat that the “get Josh Rosen” crowd is missing out on that could very well come into play.Last year in the days leading up to the draft, Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller reported that the opinion in the NFL scouting community last year was that if Josh Allen was off the board by the Giants pick at No. 2, the feeling was that Sam Darnold was their backup choice at quarterback. This little nugget would suggest that at the very least Christopher Slayton NFL Draft , Rosen would have been their third choice if not lower. We all know how the story unfolded. The Giants drafted Saquon Barkley after Cleveland drafted Baker Mayfield first overall and the Giants, who did draft Kyle Lauletta in the fourth round, kicked the can into 2019. In revisiting last year’s quarterback situation, since neither Allen or Darnold is expected to be available via trade—and again, we still don’t know if Arizona is going to make Rosen available--would the Giants “settle” for Rosen if he’s available and if they feel they need to start grooming Manning’s successor now? Logic would dictate Gettleman would not do an about-face by going with a quarterback that the team is believed to have had not graded ahead of Allen and Darnold. In addition, if the Giants brass feels like Manning still has another couple of years left in him, there might be more of a comfort level kicking the can down the road again to where Manning will end up finishing out the 2020 season on a one-year contract extension while a 2020 draft picks comes in and learns from him. It’s not the ideal way to do things, especially not knowing what the future brings in terms of what 2020 quarterback prospects will raise their respective stocks or knowing where the Giants will be drafting in 2020 (though if Manning’s critics prove to be correct, the team won’t do much better than they have the last two seasons). But at some point, the Giants need to start figuring this out as to expect Manning to be there indefinitely is pushing their luck.Draft MusingsEvery year just before the draft, I, like a lot of you, look for clues into how the team might be thinking. Sometimes the answers are right there before your eyes, like last year when the Giants did everything but take out a billboard in Times Square declaring their intentions to draft running back Saquon Barkley at No. 2 overall. Then there are other times where you have to do a little more digging and hope that you at least land in the ballpark. This year, it’s the latter.Since the season ended, I have opined that the Giants would go defense with their No. 6 pick, and I’m not about to change my mind. But what I haven’t really said just yet is what position or player I think might be pick No. 6.With that all said, it’s time for me to come off the fence and take a stand. In studying James Bettcher’s defense, one of the most significant problems the unit had was stuffing the run Christopher Slayton Buffalo Bills Jersey , which is the precursor to setting up the pass rush.Last year, New York’s run defense finished 27th in the league. With opponents having second- and third-and manageable situations, the Giants’ lack of a pass rush combined with the problems on the back end made it easy for opposing quarterbacks to do their thing. And speaking of the pass rush, does anyone doubt that Gettleman wouldn’t mind adding a couple of defensive hog mollies who can push the pocket and create pressure? Per Pro Football Focus, rookie B.J. Hill led the team’s defensive linemen with 27 total pressures, followed by Kerry Wynn’s 21. In fact, those were the only two of the Giants defensive linemen to have more than 20 pressures last season. With that in mind, I believe the Giants are going to draft a defensive lineman at No. 6 who can not only stop the run but also help to push that pocket, which I believe will help the edge rushers and the back end of the defense tighten things up. The next question is who would fit the bill. In a perfect world, Alabama’s Quinnen Williams would be that guy, though Houston’s Ed Oliver wouldn’t be such a bad “consolation” pick.I’d also like to see the Giants come away with a right tackle in this draft, preferably in the first round and preferably at No. 17, if possible. My guess is there will be a run on defensive players early on so I’m hoping that Florida’s Jawaan Taylor slides down the board to the Giants at No. 17. I think regardless of what happens with Mike Remmers, who was in for a free-agency visit last month, the Giants should look to add youth at the offensive tackle which, in my mind, has been lacking quality depth for many years.

pick in last year’s draft http://www.patriotslockerroom.com/authentic-steve-grogan-jersey , but that wasn’t what he was expecting to do.Mayfield told ESPN that before draft day, he didn’t know he was the Browns’ pick — and that he actually thought the Browns were going to pass on him, and the Patriots would trade up to take him at No. 2 overall. That idea isn’t totally crazy. Eventually, the Patriots are going to need to replace Tom Brady, and Mayfield’s agent said last year that the Patriots, who had two first-round picks and two second-round picks, had explored the possibility of trading all the way up to the second overall pick to draft Mayfield. But Patriots coach Bill Belichick has generally preferred trading down in the draft, and has never pulled the trigger on a huge trade up like that. And even if Belichick had wanted to, Giants General Manager Dave Gettleman scoffed at trading down from No. 2 Youth Sony Michel Jerseys , because he loved Saquon Barkley so much. It’s awfully unlikely that the Patriots and Giants would have agreed to a trade. So while the question, “What if Baker Mayfield had succeeded Tom Brady in New England?” might be fun to speculate about, it was never a realistic possibility. Even if one of the people speculating about it was Mayfield himself. The rookie will earn $115,000 in guarantees."On Thursday, the New England Patriots officially announced the signing of ten undrafted rookie free agents. One of the players added is Texas tight end Andrew Back, whose limited contributions in the passing game and comparatively average athleticism led to him going unselected. That being said, Beck is still coming off a solid college career and brings plenty of experience as a blocker as well as a team captain. The Patriots obviously like the traits he brings to the table, and apparently made bringing the 22-year-old onto the team a priority heading into free agency. A look at his contract shows just how highly regarded a player Beck is: as first reported by the Boston Globe’s Ben Volin, Beck received $115 Sony Michel Jerseys Stitched ,000 in guaranteed money from the Patriots, split into a $15,000 signing bonus and a $100,000 base salary guarantee.Beck’s team-leading guarantees are are an indicator of how the Patriots view him and what kind of competition they probably faced to bring him on board. The Texas product, for example, is among the league-leaders in guaranteed money received as an undrafted signee: only three players — offensive tackles Ryan Pope ($165,000; Lions) and Mitch Hyatt ($150,000; Cowboys), quarterback Jake Browning ($140 Trey Flowers Jersey ,000; Vikings) — were so far reported to have been given higher guarantees.Of course, his guarantee — the highest the team handed out since linebacker Harvey Langi received the same back in 2017 — does not ultimately guarantee Beck a spot on New England’s roster. However, it does show that the Patriots were willing to invest noticeable resources in a player they like. And, who knows, maybe the 6’3, 255-pound tight end will, like Langi, find his way onto the team’s roster on a currently rather thin position.Overall, the Patriots’ undrafted rookie class received the following guarantees upon signing with the world champions (breakdown Womens Deatrich Wise Jr Jersey , if available, via the Boston Sports Journal’s Miguel Benzan):According to the collective bargaining agreement, all men received three-year deals from the Patriots that will pay them a base salary of $495,000 in 2019. In Beck’s case, $395,000 of which are non-guaranteed.
