The Jets won on Sunday Chuma Edoga Jersey Draft , which means it is our happy duty to award a game ball. There were plenty of standout performances which would merit game ball consideration on most weeks, including those of Robby Anderson and Leonard Williams. I think the pick is pretty easy for this game, though.Isaiah Crowell set a new Jets franchise record with 219 rushing yards. He needed only 15 carries to get those yards Chuma Edoga NFL Jersey , leaving him with a ridiculous 14.6 yard average per carry. He became just the fourth player in NFL history to exceed 200 yards in a single game with 15 or fewer carries. The Jets have been quite open that they believe the key to success on offense is through running the football. They don’t want to put too much on the plate of their rookie quarterback, which requires rushing the football effectively.Things went according to plan this week, mainly because of Crowell. He gets my game ball as a result.Who gets yours?Trumaine Johnson misses practice with a hamstring strain The Jets returned to practice today after their second preseason game. They did so without their number one cornerback Chuma Edoga NFL Draft , Trumaine Johnson. Head coach Todd Bowles revealed that Johnson suffered a hamstring strain in Thursday’s game against the Washington Redskins.Johnson is one of the most important players on the team. Without a proven pass rusher, the Jets will depend on their coverage to shut down opposing passing attacks, and the Jets paid Johnson big money in free agency to handle the other team’s best receiver.Still weeks away from the start of the regular season Chuma Edoga Buffalo Bills Jersey , Johnson has plenty of time to mend. The Jets have wisely been cautious with injuries during the preseason, sitting players in games who were healthy enough to practice during the week. There is nothing at stake in preseason games so it is smart to sit banged up players, even if they would be capable of suiting up in a regular season game. This makes me believe there is a possibility we have seen the last of Johnson until Week 1.

) Color Rush Dexter Williams Jersey

If attendance at the team’s annual shareholder meeting means anything (and it probably doesn’t) Color Rush Dexter Williams Jersey , the Packers are currently moving in the wrong direction. The very last line of the article in the story regarding Wednesday night’s annual gathering points out that attendance as “well below normal at 4,200.”That would seem to require further analysis, or at least historical comparison. For example, the article could have mentioned that, in 2018,5,900 showed up. It could have mentioned that, in 2017, 7,000 attended. It could have mentioned, as last year’s item in the same publication did, that the record attendance came in 1998, with 18,707.It’s unclear why the trend has begun moving so sharply in the wrong direction. Yes, the event can be viewed online; but home games can be seen on TV Tramon Williams Jersey , too. Fans still show up for the real thing — and Packers fans used to show up in much bigger numbers to witness the annual shareholder meeting.Maybe two straight years of no playoffs and skepticism about where the team is going from here under a first-year, first-time head coach is starting to poke holes in hearts filled with cheese. Or maybe, given that it’s been several years since the team sold new shares of non-stock stock, the novelty that comes from legitimately being able to refer to the team as “we” has worn off.Regardless, the owners of the team aren’t as engaged as they were not that long ago — and definitely not as engaged as they were in 1998. Though there are probably more to come, we know of three new Packers who will receive bonuses for signing in Green Bay after the draft."WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections The APC PodcastPackers Film RoomFantasy Football AdvicePackers as UDFAsNew,80commentsThough there are probably more to come, we know of three new Packers who will receive bonuses for signing in Green Bay after the draft.CDTShareTweetShareShareCurtis Bolton, Greg Roberts, Javien Hamilton got signing bonuses from Packers as UDFAsKevin Jairaj-USA TODAY SportsSigning bonuses for undrafted players typically can give a fan a read on what players are poised to make a legitimate run at a roster spot in training camp. So far, Acme Packing Company has heard word of 11 undrafted free agents signing with the Green Bay Packers, but only three who have received signing bonuses as part of those contracts. The three players, and their signing bonus values, are as follows:Curtis Bolton, ILB Cheap Dexter Williams Jersey , Oklahoma: $7,000 (per Jim Owczarski)Greg Roberts, EDGE Baylor: $7,000 (per Aaron Wilson)Javien Hamilton, DB, Ole Miss: $4,200 (per Jim Owczarski)Bolton was a one-year starter at Oklahoma who had a pre-draft visit with the Packes. However, in that one year, he racked up a ridiculous 142 total tackles, 12 of them for losses, with 4.5 sacks. At 6-foot and 228 pounds, Bolton posted a solid 4.59-second Pro Day at his Pro Day and should compete for a spot on special teams with James Crawford and seventh-round draft pick Ty Summers.Roberts, a 6-foot-5, 258-pound college defensive end, never racked up substantial stats despite starting at least six games in each of his final three seasons. However Dexter Williams Jersey Womens , that may be due in part to Baylor’s defensive struggles, as they fielded a below-average defense in each of those years. Roberts did have a solid workout at Pro Day, with a 4.73-second 40 and a 7.11-second 3-cone drill. He also blocked a pair of field goal attempts as a junior, and given the Packers’ investment at edge rusher, his route to the roster would almost certainly come on special teams as well. The final of these three players, Hamilton, is a bit of an unusual player for the Packers, as he stands just 5-foot-10 flat. In addition, he was only a part-time starter for Ole Miss, starting just eight games after coming in from junior college for 2017. Still, he recorded three interceptions as a junior and posted a 4.51-second 40 and 39-inch vertical at Pro Day.The dollar amounts of the signing bonuses here are not enough to cause significant concern if any of the players are unable to push for a roster spot. However, it does represent at least some investment in each of them, and should be taken as a recognition that there was a market for their services outside of Green Bay.

CARSON Vosean Joseph NFL Draft , Calif. (AP)Los Angeles Rams cornerback Casey Hayward felt ”a little disrespected” that the Buffalo Bills decided to let rookie quarterback Nathan Peterman make his first career start against their defense. The Chargers gave Peterman a forgettable introduction to the NFL, intercepting him five times in the first half and getting six takeaways total in a 54-24 demolition of the Bills on Sunday. Hayward said the Bills were ”tripping” to let the fifth-round pick replace Tyrod Taylor. ”You’re starting a rookie against a really good defense. We got some good edge rushers. We got some good guys in the secondary, so we had to take advantage of that,” Hayward said. ”When they announced it, I’m like, `OK? Against us?”’ Linebacker Korey Toomer had a 59-yard pick-six early in the game, and Hayward had two interceptions. Tre Boston and Trevor Williams also picked off Peterman, who became the second quarterback since 1991 to throw five interceptions in his first start. Keith Null threw five interceptions with the St. Louis Rams in 2009. Joey Bosa had a strip-sack of Taylor in the third quarter, and Melvin Ingram returned the loose ball 39 yards for a touchdown. Taylor, who started the first nine games of the season Vosean Joseph NFL Jersey , replaced Peterman to start the second half. ”No matter who’s back there, we are going to do what we do,” Ingram said. ”We’re going to try to get after the quarterback, and our DBs, they was in they jack mode today.” The Chargers had 11 takeaways in their first eight games. They bolstered their fledgling playoff hopes with their most emphatic win since beating the New York Jets 31-0 in 2014. San Diego turned its six takeaways into 31 points, but it could have been worse for the Bills. Nick Novak missed a 46-yard field goal following Hayward’s first interception. ”It felt good,” said Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers, who was 20-of-32 passing for 251 yards and two touchdowns. ”The defense obviously helped out quite a bit. We had optimal field position, but we executed at a much better level offensively, much better rhythm and flow.” The 54 points was the most ever in a game that Rivers started Vosean Joseph Jersey Draft , and it was the first time the Chargers topped 50 since a 2008 win over the Denver Broncos. It was the kind of complete performance the jubilant Chargers believe can propel them back into the postseason chase. Those aspirations seemed outlandish after losing their first four games, including two against AFC West opponents, and seeing the Kansas City Chiefs jump out to a 5-0 start. The Chargers are now only two games back of the division leaders. It started with a defense that finally capitalized on opportunities handed to them and created plenty more. Toomer got his interception after Peterman’s pass hit fullback Patrick DiMarco in the hands and bounced up in the air. Hayward’s first pick was on a lob by Peterman under pressure, and he got the second by following Peterman’s gaze and undercutting a route. Bosa planted his helmet squarely in Peterman’s sternum during the throw that resulted in Boston’s third interception in two games. ”Sometimes they come in bunches, and they came today in bunches,” Chargers coach Anthony Lynn said. ”We were due for a game like this,” Toomer said. Still, Ingram sees it as just a glimpse of what the Chargers can do, especially on defense. ”We can’t just try to hang our hats on this,” Ingram said. ”There is still a long season ahead of us Infant Vosean Joseph Jersey , and we headed in the right direction, but we ain’t where we want to be yet.” — Bills defensive end Shaq Lawson grew up about 20 miles from Anderson, South Carolina and he reached out to the family of an 11-year-old girl who was shot and killed in that town this week.Ja’Naiya Scott was killed when someone shot at her home more than 35 times early on Sunday morning. He said he has a sister about the same age and felt he wanted to do anything that “could possibly help out” at such a trying time. Lawson also sent a message to whoever fired the gun.“Whoever did this needs to come forward and tell the truth,” Lawson said, via the . “And whoever’s hiding, it’s wrong that you’re hiding. This is a little girl who is gone. It’s just pointless killing people — killing an innocent child. My dad has been a season ticket holder since the days of the Yale Bowl. I was technically at a mid-December Giants-Cowboys game a few days before I was born. I was raised on the New York Giants and whether in East Rutherford, at home, or anywhere else, missing a game was rarely an option.I emailed Ed just before the 2016 season and asked if he was in need of another writer. That’s where all this started. I had previously written for other places across the Internet. I was part of the wild west days of Bleacher Report and was writing for numberFire at the time. But I was looking for another outlet and knew there would be nothing more natural than writing about the Giants. My first post came on Sept. 16 Infant Daniel Jones Jersey , 2016, and was a look at how the Giants’ secondary could potentially match up in the slot against the New Orleans Saints. A lot has happened in the just under three years since that post. I became a bigger part of the Big Blue View staff. I got to cover training camp practices. I got to talk to Saquon Barkley about how he does what he does (I think my favorite post over that time or at least the one that stands out the most). We started a podcast! All of this is a long intro to say this will be my final post at Big Blue View. You might have seen on Twitter or heard on the podcast, I’m joining Sharp Football Analysis where I’ll be an editor and writer for the 2019 season. None of this happened on my own, so a few quick notes:To Ed: Thank you for responding to that cold email I sent three years ago. Thank you for running a wonderful site I read before I started writing for it and will continue to read after. I have long held the belief this is the best place for any type of Giants coverage on the Internet and I am so grateful I got to be a part of it. Thank you for allowing me to run with a lot of ideas, even when they were vastly different from anything done on the site previously Daniel Jones Jersey Draft , and letting me get super deep and super nerdy (probably too deep and too nerdy) on so many of my posts. Thank you for helping me grow as a writer in that time.To Chris: Thank you for being an excellent podcast partner and running with a show that could go 17 different directions in an episode. Over the past year, there’s been no one I’ve talked football with more often and getting to do that has been a tremendous pleasure. I’m going to miss collaborating on those shows, article topics, and putting the big board together. Thank you for being someone to consistently bounce ideas off of and making those better. To all BBV readers: Thank you so much for being a gracious community. Thank you for embracing me and allowing me to consistently write about things that included DVOA, Expected Points Added Daniel Jones NFL Jersey , and so many other numbers that I’m sure not many of you cared about otherwise. Thank you for entertaining those ideas. Overall, thank you for reading and supporting — not just me, but everything from Big Blue View. We’re so lucky we get to do all of this and it’s because you care about it so much. That’s so cool. Keep caring about and supporting the things you like (and maybe specifically click some BBV links and download some podcasts). It’s certainly bittersweet writing this, but my overwhelming emotion is gratitude for everything this site — and everyone involved with it — has allowed me to do over the past three years. So for one final time, thank you and goodbye. The word from the Giants all offseason was that they firmly believed Eli Manning could still play quarterback at a level that allowed the team to win games Daniel Jones NFL Draft , but it didn’t take long for them to decide on another quarterback come the regular season.Daniel Jones is starting against the Buccaneers this week and will almost certainly continue in that role as long as he remains healthy this season. That move was inevitable once the Giants selected Jones with the sixth overall pick and head coach Pat Shurmur said at a Wednesday press conference that “my gut told me it was the right time” to make the change at quarterback.“We do everything we can to win football games and at this point we feel like he’s the guy we want to move forward with,” Shurmur said.Shurmur pushed back at suggestions that the team should have made the switch before the start of the season and said he still feels Manning can play in the NFL. Despite that, he said he does not expect Manning to move on to another team this year and said he thinks the veteran will be a good resource for Jones over the rest of the year.

His three catches netted just seven yards and Moncrief had a handful of passes hit his hands that he was unable to secure Joejuan Williams NFL Jersey , including a fourth-and-one conversion and a potential touchdown.“It’s sickening when you watch it and you know the plays that you’re supposed to make and you didn’t make them,” Moncrief said, via Mike Prisuta of the team’s website. “And you see them and you’re like, ‘Gosh, I know I gotta make that.’ The other day, after we watched that film, there was a feeling in my stomach, it hurt. I went home Joejuan Williams NFL Draft , went straight to sleep, it hurt me. I had to put that away.“That was my first one like that, that was a bad one. It hurt, but at the end of the day it’s the NFL, all you can do is get better the next day. You gotta bounce back. You can’t let it hold you down.”The missed chances probably wouldn’t have shifted the outcome of the game against New England, but it still wasn’t the best first impression to leave either. Moncrief has been dealing with a dislocated middle finger since early in training camp but he wouldn’t use that as a crutch for the dropped passes against the Patriots. The ten targets Moncrief saw in New England were the most of any Steelers’ receiver. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said he’s not altering his approach with Moncrief due to one shaky outing.Moncrief is looking to bounce back this week against the Seattle Seahawks, who only allowed 20 points to the Cincinnati Bengals last week but saw Andy Dalton throw for over 400 yards on 51 attempts.“He believes in me,” Moncrief said of Roethlisberger. “He knows what I can do. I know what I can do. At the end of the day that was my worst game ever in my career Joejuan Williams Buffalo Bills Jersey , and it hurt.“But you can’t just sit there and just pout about it. You gotta get better, and that’s what I’m doing.” When Patriots quarterback Tom Brady wasn’t trading barbs with Titans head coach Mike Vrabel at Thursday’s joint practice, he was throwing to wide receivers who he is still getting to know. The Patriots have been shorthanded at wideout throughout training camp with Julian Edelman and Demaryius Thomas out of action, but Thursday saw the numbers grow even thinner as Phillip Dorsett, Maurice Harris and first-round pick N'Keal Harry all sat out with injuries. That left Brady to throw to the likes of Dontrelle Inman, Jakobi Meyers, Braxton Berrios, Gunner Olszewski and Damoun Patterson. Brady took note of how few spots are set in the receiving corps and what that means for the lesser-known members of the group.“Yeah Color Rush Joejuan Williams Jersey , I think those guys are working hard,” Brady said in a press conference. “I think training camp’s an interesting time with a lot of bodies and there’s a lot of guys in and out. Some years, you might have three guys set, or four guys set, and I think this year we haven’t really had that. It’s good work for the quarterback, just to make a read and then make a throw, and whether we come up with it or not, at least we’re going to the right place and making a good Youth Joejuan Williams Jersey , decisive play. So, there’s still a lot to be gained with guys moving in and out, and that’s just the way it’s been here.”Meyers has been opening eyes all summer and seems close to securing a spot on the 53-man roster if he hasn’t done so already. The others will continue to get their chances against the Titans in Saturday’s game and a big night for any of them will continue to keep things interesting in the receiver room.

with just-fired General Manager Mike Maccagnan. But it seems the seeds of the discord between them were sown during draft meetings Men Quinnen Williams Jersey , when Gase didn’t have much of a voice and Maccagnan didn’t offer him the chance to make it heard. As detailed by Manish Mehta of the , the rift between Gase and Maccagnan became apparent during preparation for the draft, when Maccagnan didn’t invite the new coach to offer much input into scouting. It’s reasonable for a coach to offer a template for what he’s looking for in prospects to do things particular to a scheme, but coaches are by job description parachuting into this process late Womens Lac Edwards Jersey , so it’s reasonable to scouts to be protective of the corners they’ve been working for months. Maccagnan took the same approach with Todd Bowles, but Gase apparently bristled at the treatment.“It pissed Adam off,” a team source said. “Mike didn’t want him to speak up too much. It’s a weird philosophy.”Gase would share his thoughts with Maccagnan in smaller meetings, but by and large http://www.jetslockerroom.com/authentic-sam-darnold-jersey , the draft meetings were conducted without much input from coaches. As a result, Gase largely washed his hands of the process. As they were setting up for the three days of picking players in April, Gase found that the seat reserved for him next to CEO Christopher Johnson was within range of the “war room” camera they had in place for the weekend.“He literally took his seat and moved it [out of camera view],” a current team employee that was in the room said. “That was extreme.”That’s one way of putting it. Passive-aggressive would be another mild version.Of course Tarell Basham Jersey , Gase now has a draft class of guys he can say he didn’t sign off on, which gives him some insulation if things go bad. But the fact such an organizational mismatch was allowed to continue through the draft is a failure that falls at the feet of Johnson — and the top-down dysfunction that has been the franchise’s trademark doesn’t seem to be letting up any time soon.
The Jets asked Vikings assistant General Manager George

Paton to interview for their G.M. vacancy in 2013 and again in 2015 Custom Armon Watts Jersey , but Paton turned down the opportunity each time.Paton’s answer reportedly hasn’t changed in 2019. The Jets are looking for a G.M. after firing Mike Maccagnan and Paton’s name again made their list of candidates. TheAthletic.com reports that Paton has passed on the chance for the third time, however.Seahawks co-director of player personnel Scott Fitterer is set to start the interview process for the Jets with Eagles vice president of player personnel Joe Douglas and Bears assistant director of player personnel Champ Kelly also scheduled to speak to the team. Saints director of pro scouting Terry Fontenot has also been mentioned as a candidate, but there’s been no word that an interview has been set.The Jets will be looking for a long run from whoever winds up in the job. If that’s not how things play out, it might save some time to just leave Paton off the list for the next search. LOS ANGELES (AP) — Kirk Cousins was an eager young quarterback and Sean McVay was a precocious offensive coordinator when they got together in Washington. After they collaborated on two tremendously productive seasons, the partnership led to big things for both men: McVay became the NFL’s youngest head coach in Los Angeles, and Cousins got an $84 million contract in Minnesota.“I’m very grateful for having crossed paths with him,” Cousins said. “And I’m always rooting for him. But certainly Discount Armon Watts Jersey , though, we want to get the ‘W’ this week.”Indeed, they’re getting back together Thursday night in a compelling early season NFC showdown between McVay’s Rams (3-0) and Cousins’ Vikings (1-1-1).And both say they wouldn’t be there under the Coliseum lights without the other.“I feel fortunate to have worked with Kirk,” McVay said.“Sometimes you hear people talk about not having the strongest arm or whatever, (but) I’m not sure what film they’re watching,” McVay added.“He can make every single throw. I think he has the ability to speed it up with excellent twitch. He can change the launch point. So you’re not limited in any way that you can utilize him. And I couldn’t be happier for Kirk, and I’ll be rooting for him the rest of the year after Thursday night.”Their meeting will be an interesting barometer for both teams’ early season fortunes. The Rams have been largely outstanding during their unbeaten start to a season that has picked up right where McVay’s first team left off.But coach Mike Zimmer’s Vikings defense gave perhaps the most impressive performance of last season against the high-octane Rams Dalvin Cook Jersey , who managed only one early touchdown from Todd Gurley in a 24-7 loss at Minnesota.“We didn’t run the ball as well as we had in other games against this defense,” said Aaron Kromer, the Rams’ running game coordinator. “They’re a stout defense. They’re built to stop the run. That’s their No. 1 goal. … We have to do a much better job. I think we’re a lot smarter football team than we were in the past, so I hope that shows on Thursday night.”More things to watch:WEEKNIGHT PARTYThe Rams realize Thursday afternoon isn’t an ideal time to brave LA traffic for a football game at a stadium undergoing renovation that has severely curtailed its parking and tailgating. So they’re trying to make this important NFC game into a civic duty: McVay sent out a funny “memo” through newspapers and social media to all employers in Los Angeles, urging them to allow their employees to leave work early so they can head downtown for the 5:20 p.m. local start time — which he says is the “typical bedtime” of his 71-year-old defensive coordinator, Wade Phillips. They also got Vanessa Hudgens to sing the national anthem, while Compton rapper YG will perform in the second quarter.EARLY DEPARTUREThe Vikings flew to Los Angeles on Tuesday evening Alan Page Jersey , hoping to better acclimate to the two-time-zone change. The Vikings are 1-5 in Thursday night road games, winning only at Dallas in 1978. Traveling cross-country to play one of the NFL’s best teams with three days of rest is a daunting task.“Yeah, it’s a problem,” coach Mike Zimmer said. “We haven’t had a home game on a short week since I’ve been here in five years. But you play the schedule how it is.”NOT A FANThe Rams are also unenthused about their short-week schedule, although they’re grateful they got to stay home for it. McVay joked that he’s running on “maybe two” hours of sleep per night. Last weekend, Gurley summed up many players’ feelings about Thursday football: “It’s the dumbest thing ever.”GOING WITHOUT GRIFFENThe Vikings will play without defensive end Everson Griffen, a captain and three-time Pro Bowl pick. The former USC star won’t make his Coliseum return while he is sidelined indefinitely for treatment of mental illness following a pattern of erratic and threatening behavior. With players http://www.thevikingslockerroom.com/authentic-brett-favre-jersey , coaches and staff concerned about Griffen’s well-being, the show must go on. Stephen Weatherly had his first career sack against the Bills while starting in place of Griffen.INJURED CORNERSThe Rams have bigger problems than a late start time: Their star-studded defense is suddenly short-handed after former Pro Bowl cornerbacks Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters both incurred injuries in last week’s win over the Chargers.Talib needs ankle surgery and will be out for at least eight weeks. Peters’ calf injury isn’t so serious, but still might keep him out. The Rams are likely to go against Cousins with backup cornerbacks including Sam Shields, Troy Hill and Nickell Robey-Coleman.“I feel like we’re going to be great,” Robey-Coleman said. “I can’t take away from the hard work that every guy on this depth chart put in to get an opportunity to get on the field.”SLOW STARTAfter ranking seventh in the NFL last season in yards rushing, the Vikings are next-to-last with just 66 yards per game, although they’ve been throwing excessively with two late deficits in their first three games. There still hasn’t been much room for Dalvin Cook or Latavius Murray to run Womens Stefon Diggs Jersey , and going against the Rams’ stout defensive line won’t help. Pat Elflein will return to the starting lineup at center, his rehab from offseason surgeries finally complete.“We’re not in panic mode. We’re not in that,” said Cook, who is expected to play after sitting out last week’s loss to Buffalo. “We’re going to get this thing going. It’s just a matter of time.”

Last year, they traded up to snag linebacker Oren Burks. In 2019, it was Texas A&M tight end Jace Sternberger who was the pick, chosen with the 75th overall selection. The Packers wasted no time at all in rushing their card up when going on the clock at 75, however, a sign that Sternberger was the player they were targeting on their board as the picks counted down. Indeed, the team’s brass expressed great excitement about being able to land the athletic tight end prospect with that pick, saying that he was at the top of their draft board. “He was the best player available for us at this time,” said co-director of player personnel Jon-Eric Sullivan. “It worked out Color Rush Darnell Savage Jersey , because it was a position that we value, and we needed to get a young guy in the mix.”General manager Brian Gutekunst addressed the concept of need at the position, saying that the team did not feel compelled to draft a tight end if the board did not allow for it. “It wasn’t something that I felt like we had to add in this draft,” he said. “He was the best player on our board, so that’s the way we went.”The current depth chart at the position includes veteran players like Jimmy Graham and Marcedes Lewis, who will likely do the heavy lifting for the 2019 season, as well as young rising cult hero Robert Tonyan. With that group in place, Sternberger will be expected to contribute early on without being on the top line of the depth chart. As Sullivan described it, “I don’t think there’s pressure for him to come in here and be Superman.”Sternberger Cheap Darnell Savage Jersey , for his part, sounds thrilled to play behind established veterans. On a conference call with Packers reporters, he expressed plenty of excitement about his new teammates. “What better opportunity can you have?” he asked. “Anything, any advice that they give me, anything they tell me, even if they’re being hard on me, I’m going to take it in.”Described as a “late bloomer,” Sternberger started off his career at Kansas before moving to junior college. “I was on my third offensive coordinator at Kansas,” he said Darnell Savage Jersey Womens , describing the circumstances of his circuitous route to College Station. “(It just wasn’t the best fit overall. I felt like me going the juco route was my best opportunity to get recruited by everybody.” Recruited he was — landing at A&M early on in the process. “Coach (Jimbo) Fisher gave me the opportunity to be the number one tight end at A&M, and I took that opportunity head-on and it worked out for the better.”Now, after one year as a college starter, he’s a third-round pick and a Packer. It may even take some time for that to sink in for him. “If you were to tell me that Aaron Rodgers was going to be my quarterback in about four years,” he said, ““I would have laughed at you and called you a liar.”Nobody’s lying to you now, Jace. Welcome to Green Bay. Browns center J.C. Tretter knows all about Mike McCarthy. And even if every quarterback doesn’t love him, Tretter thinks the just-fired Packers coach would be great for Browns rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield.Tretter told Mary Kay Cabot of the that he thinks McCarthy would be a good teacher for the precocious Cleveland quarterback.鈥淚 think they鈥檇 do great,” Tretter said. 鈥淗e started working with Aaron [Rodgers] when Aaron was a rookie too and Aaron鈥檚 developed into a hell of a player so I think that relationship would be fine. I see a lot of similarities between Aaron and Baker personalty-wise Darnell Savage Green Bay Packers Jersey , competitiveness, and that鈥檚 all the things that Aaron came in with too when he was a young player, so I think they鈥檇 work well together.”Tretter spent four years in Green Bay with McCarthy (2013-16), when things weren’t always so warm between Rodgers and McCarthy. He’s also just one of the Green Bay refugees in Cleveland, and General Manager John Dorsey and much of his front office have deep and obvious ties to McCarthy. So even though McCarthy’s strained relationship with Rodgers (at a play-calling level, not a personal level) has been the focus of his departure from Green Bay, Tretter didn’t view him as a coach who was inflexible. In fact, he thought McCarthy could incorporate many of the college concepts to their offense which could maximize Mayfield’s skills.鈥淚t鈥檚 tough how things go down but that鈥檚 kind of the business we鈥檙e in,” Tretter said of the end of McCarthy’s run in Green Bay. “It was tough last year for him with A-Rod getting hurt and then things just didn鈥檛 click this year like in previous years Darnell Savage Jersey 2019 , but I鈥檝e always enjoyed working with Mike McCarthy. I think what he鈥檚 done in his career in Green Bay has been extraordinary. I think there鈥檚 not many franchises that would trade what he鈥檚 done or pass that up.鈥淗e鈥檚 a great man, too. I don鈥檛 have a bad thing to say about Mike McCarthy. He was really an awesome leader and an awesome coach. Coming in as a rookie into that program and be coached by him was really awesome for my career to set me up on how this business works and how the game of football is played.鈥滿cCarthy’s 125-77-2 record and Super Bowl ring would bring some immediate gravity to the Browns, though they figure to cast a wide net since they too have a head start on the coaching search.

In that time, he has managed to show a preference for one particular conference while simultaneously scouring smaller schools for diamonds in the rough. In 2019, Buffalo made eight draft picks, just as they did during the 2018 Draft. This year Womens Vontae Davis Jersey , the Bills drafted five players from “Power-Five” conferences, the same number as last year. Last year, the choice was quarterback Josh Allen, who played in the Mountain West Conference at Wyoming. This year, the choice was defensive tackle Ed Oliver http://www.thebillslockerroom.com/authentic-aj-mccarron-jersey , who played in the American Athletic Conference at Houston. Two of Buffalo’s “Power-Five” picks in 2019 were SEC players—tight end Dawson Knox, chosen in the third round (96 overall), and linebacker Vosean Joseph, selected in the fifth round (147 overall). Another “Power-Five” choice, offensive lineman Cody Ford (second round; 38 overall) Vladimir Ducasse Jersey , played at Oklahoma, which is a Big 12 school.Buffalo continued its trend of selecting multiple ACC players in this year’s draft, choosing Miami (Fl.) safety Jaquan Johnson in the fifth round and Boston College tight end Tommy Sweeney in the seventh round. That gives Beane a total of six players chosen from ACC schools in two drafts. Last year, the team chose linebacker Tremain Edmunds (16 overall) and guard Wyatt Teller (166 overall), both from Virginia Tech. Additionally Womens Jason Croom Jersey , they selected two ACC wide receivers late in the draft, taking Clemson wideout Ray-Ray McCloud III in Round Six (187 overall) and North Carolina wideout Austin Proehl in Round Seven (255 overall).Buffalo spent a third-round choice this year on a running back from a small conference, making Florida Atlantic’s Devin Singletary their choice at 74 overall. They also chose FCS edge rusher Darryl Johnson our of North Carolina A&T in the seventh round (225 overall).

EAST RUTHERFORD New York Giants Jersey 2019 , N.J. (AP) — It’s not uncommon for NFL players to be optimistic heading into training camp.It happens every year as teams gear up in the summer and start thinking about making the playoffs and dreaming about winning a Super Bowl. What was a little surprising Wednesday was the optimism of Giants offensive coordinator Mike Shula and defensive coordinator James Bettcher in May.Just days after the draft, both men went out of their way to say how excited they were heading into 2019, Pat Shurmur’s second season as coach.Shula said the offense — now without the traded Odell Beckham Jr. — is light years ahead of last year; two-time Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning is looking great at 38; and No. 6 overall draft pick and quarterback heir apparent Daniel Jones will be ready to play if needed.Bettcher, whose defense had trouble holding leads last season, is stoked to be working with a mixture of veterans Janoris Jenkins, Antoine Bethea, Jabrill Peppers and Markus Golden along with several recently added draft picks, led by defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence II and cornerback DeAndre Baker, both taken in the first round with Jones.“I am hoping it can be an aggressive, attacking defense that dictates,” Bettcher said. “As I look at where it is at today and moving to tomorrow, I believe that is what it can be.”The Giants are going to have a different look on defense. Perennial leading tackle Landon Collins signed with Washington and sacks leader Olivier Vernon was traded to Cleveland for guard Kevin Zeitler. Edge rusher Connor Barwin, safety Curtis Riley and defensive lineman Kerry Wynn all are gone.Like any other coordinator, Bettcher admitted he would have liked the Giants to have taken a defensive player with the sixth pick overall 2019 Dexter Lawrence Jersey , but he said the needs of the team come first.“You have had the conversations and given your opinion on the player, the individual player as we would talk about them,” Bettcher said of his talks with general manager Dave Gettleman. “The emotion gets taken out of it. There is great communication and it is clear communication.”Shula said Jones has all the tools. He has a good arm, is smart, asks good questions and learned plenty in the recent rookie camp.“Obviously with any young guy, whether it is Daniel or whoever you have, I think you have to make sure that those guys, you find out what they can do best and get them on the field doing that to start with, and then go from there,” Shula said. “I think he’s got that capability.”The big ask for the offense this season will be replacing Beckham. Sterling Shepard and free agent signee Golden Tate will carry the load with tight end Evan Engram and a group of receivers, including speedy draft pick Darius Slayton.“The receivers we put on the field are going to be the guys that we are confident in and who we want to go out there to make plays,” receiver coach Tyke Tolbert said. “Doesn’t matter what number you want to put on it, we are going to play the best players at all positions, and I feel confident that whoever we put on the field Dexter Lawrence NFL Draft , they are going to be able to go out there and make plays and help us win games.” Things are never perfect, so here are some areas of concern" />Skip to main contentclockmenumore-arrownoyesHorizontal - WhiteBig Blue Viewa New York Giants communityLog In or Sign UpLog InSign UpFanpostsFanshotsSectionsLibraryGiantsOddsAboutMastheadCommunity GuidelinesStubHubMoreAll 322 blogs on Horizontal - WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections New York Giants NewsGiants Training Camp 2016Giants vs. Eagles 2015, Week 17Four things New York Giants fans should be worried about New,334commentsThings are never perfect, so here are some areas of concernEDTShareTweetShareShareFour things New York Giants fans should be worried about DeAndre BakerNoah K. Murray-USA TODAY SportsOn Monday I gave you a list of four things New York Giants fans should feel good about as we enter the summer months. I promised you I would give you the flip side, so here are four things to worry about when we consider the 2019 Giants. Will they have enough pass rush?Markus GoldenNoah K. Murray-USA TODAY SportsIf you want to be be really optimistic about the 2019 defense, you certainly can. As I have said previously, there is a lot of youth, a lot of athleticism, a lot of potential. There are a plethora of young defensive backs to be excited about. What is missing, though, are pass rushers with resumes. It is fine to believe that Markus Golden can return to his 12.5 sack 2016 form. He might. Counting on that, however, is a gamble. He is now two seasons and an awful knee injury removed from that — and he doesn’t have Chandler Jones and Calais Campbell to help him. He has to prove he can again be a dominant edge player. It is fine to believe that Lorenzo Carter will take a step forward as an impact edge rusher in his second season Color Rush Deandre Baker Jersey , and that Oshane Ximines was terrific value at the end of the third round. They still have to prove it, though. It’s fine to believe that B.J. Hill might improve on his 5.5 sacks as a rookie. He got three of those in one game, though, and came out of N.C. State as a run-defending nose tackle not thought to have pass rush ability. I’m not counting on big pass rush impact from Hill. It’s fine to believe 17th overall pick Dexter Lawrence can push an NFL pocket. He has to prove he can, though. It’s fine if you buy the growing narrative that pass coverage might be more important than pass rush. I’m not yet convinced, but I do know both work together. Better coverage gives rushers more time to get into the backfield. Better pressure means defensive backs aren’t hung out to dry and asked to cover forever. At some point, though, a pass rusher has to win a one-on-one matchup and be able to make a play.“Lorenzo Carter has to build his resume, Markus Golden has to continue building his resume. That is the only way that happen,” defensive coordinator James Bettcher said. “OV [Olivier Vernon] was not just day one, came into the league and was a dynamic pass rusher, he had to build that. The only way the guys get a chance to do that is on the field getting snaps.”The Giants are counting on coverage and resume building. We’ll see if it works out.The Manning-to-Jones transitionWay back at the NFL Scouting Combine, before GM Dave Gettleman was in “full-bloom love” with Daniel Jones and used the sixth overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft to select him, I asked head coach Pat Shurmur if having Eli Manning at quarterback complicated any potential midseason transition to a then-hypothetical new player at that position. “I don’t think so Youth Deandre Baker Jersey ,” Shurmur said at the time. “We’re not looking to make a midseason transition. We’re looking to play the best player and have that player in there.“We’re also trying to win games and if we bring in a new player [which we now know they did] develop that player to the point where he’ll start for us.”Manning’s presence will be good for Jones, who will learn valuable lessons from the two-time Super Bowl MVP whether Manning goes out of his way to be a mentor or not. News flash, though. Having Manning as the starter undoubtedly complicates any potential in-season transition to Jones. The comparisons to the Manning-Kurt Warner situation in 2004 are easy and obvious, but not necessarily accurate. Warner was in his first season with the Giants and the franchise had no ties to him. They owed him nothing. Manning will be giving the Giants his 16th season in 2019. He’s given them two Super Bowl titles. He is the best and most prolific quarterback in franchise history. John Mara and Gettleman have loyalty to him.No one in the Giants organization wants to embarrass Manning. They would like things to end well, not with the bitterness that came when the franchise moved on from Phil Simms after the 1993 season. Manning isn’t Warner. He isn’t Ryan Fitzpatrick, Joe Flacco or Tyrod Taylor. His accomplishments and longevity in a Giants uniform can’t help but complicate the transition. The Giants pulled the rug out from underneath Warner in 2004 when the Giants were 5-4 and still in playoff contention. I can’t imagine they would do that to Manning. I doubt they would hesitate if they start 0-6 like they did in 2013 or 1-7 like they did last season, but not if there is a chance at the playoffs. Like I said, it’s complicated. The youth at cornerbackThe Giants’ youth and apparent talent at cornerback is exciting. It’s also scary. Right now it looks like they will have four cornerbacks on the season-opening 53-man roster — DeAndre Baker, Julian Love, Sam Beal, Corey Ballentine — who have never played an NFL snap. Cornerback is a position where mistakes often lead directly to giving up points. Inexperienced players make mistakes. They, hopefully, grow and learn from them. They do, though Womens Deandre Baker Jersey , mess up sometimes. The Giants have to hope their evaluations of these young players were correct, and that whatever growing pains they experience don’t end up costing them games.Offensive line depthMike RemmersNoah K. Murray-USA TODAY SportsThe offensive line has been upgraded with the additions of Kevin Zeitler at right guard and Mike Remmers at right tackle. As optimistic as everyone should be, there are still risks and potential issues along that line.Jon Halapio is back at center. Giants’ decision-makers have pretty much tripped all over themselves talking about how well Halapio was playing before being hurt last season. Maybe so. Still, he has played TWO NFL games at center after struggling for years to keep an NFL job. Do we really know how good he is?Remmers had back surgery. He called it a “little” procedure, but it was still back surgery. He’s an average right tackle, which would be an upgrade for the Giants, but he’s not an All-Pro.What about the depth? The backups right now look like Chad Wheeler, Spencer Pulley and Evan Brown. Is that good enough?

Josh Gordon quickly has caught on with the Patriots.

Having played 36 snaps in two games Damien Harris Buffalo Bills Jersey , making four catches for 82 yards and a touchdown, the receiver appears ready for a bigger role.鈥淚t hasn鈥檛 been too tough,鈥?Gordon said of picking up the Patriots鈥?playbook, via Doug Kyed of NESN. 鈥淚 think that鈥檚 greatly due in part to the amount of help I receive from my teammates here, definitely Tom [Brady], all the receivers help bringing me along on a daily basis. The coaches, just giving me all these resources I need. And me taking advantage of it, going home and studying that daily.鈥淚 think even a part of having a certain amount of experience in the league already and seeing so many different offenses and stuff, I think the language of it is somewhat familiar. It hasn鈥檛 been too tough.鈥滸ordon getting a locker next to Brady was by design. It has helped Gordon’s acclimation.鈥淢ost of the day we wind up talking football, whether it be in the locker room here briefly or in most of the meeting rooms or time after practice,鈥?Gordon said. 鈥淲e carve out time, and we make it happen. We make sure if there鈥檚 something that might be a concern for him or me or he wants to know how I like to do something or how he wants to do something, I just ask him. He鈥檚 open about it, and it makes it easy for me to communicate with him. It makes it a real natural type of relationship.鈥滸ordon caught Brady’s 500th career touchdown pass last week, already earning him a special place in New England. Brady is starting to trust Gordon more by the day.“Yeah, I think anytime you come in late to the season, I think there鈥檚 a big learning curve,” Brady said. “You鈥檙e just trying to get up to speed as fast as possible. I think fortunately, he鈥檚 got other guys at his position that he can really lean on Youth Drew Bledsoe Jerseys , Chris [Hogan] and Julian [Edelman] in particular. Phillip [Dorsett] kind of learned late in the season last year. They鈥檝e got a good group, really well coached group, and we鈥檙e just trying to work to get better every day.” The NFL Films documentary A Football Life: Bill Belichick, filmed over the course of the 2009 season, includes one shot of the exit door at Gillette Stadium on which a motivational poster has been affixed. The poster lists four points players have to keep in mind when leaving the New England Patriots’ facilities: Don’t believe or fuel the hype. Manage expectations. Ignore the noise. Speak for yourself. The Patriots have proven to be masters of doing all that, but every now and then we get a glimpse behind the business-first facade the organization has built over the past two decades. Yesterday was such a moment. After New England’s 41-28 blowout victory over the Los Angeles Chargers in the NFL’s divisional playoff round, quarterback Tom Brady spoke with CBS about the contest and the upcoming AFC title game. After the standard compliments thrown towards the Patriots’ next opponent — a Kansas City Chiefs team that Brady described as good — the 41-year old showed that the noise is not getting fully ignored in Foxboro these days. “I know everyone thinks we suck and we can’t win any games, so we’ll see,” he said following a game many of the national talking heads saw going a different way than it ultimately did.Brady’s postgame remarks were not the only one regarding the Patriots’ underdog image — one, it seems, the has embraced and finds motivation in. New England wide receiver Chris Hogan was asked about it after yesterday’s game, and did not deny the Patriots using some of the narratives being built in the media to get themselves fired up. “Any motivation that you can use when it’s playoff time,” Hogan told reporters.”“It’s fine, people can count us out. The guys in this locker room, we believe in each other, we believe in ourselves and our abilities. We’re just going to continue to work hard every single week,” continued Hogan, who finished the day with three receptions for 13 yards. The wide receiver, who is in his third straight postseason run since joining the club as a free agent in 2016 Drew Bledsoe Jerseys Stitched , was not the only one to address the topic yesterday.Defensive captain Devin McCourty also opened up about the Patriots’ handling of the outside noise. “We were going to prepare and be ready to go, whether you pick us or you don’t pick us,” the veteran said. “But, we see it. We see our quarterback’s too old, we’re not good enough on defense, the skill players aren’t good. We see it, but it doesn’t affect how we prepare. We love practicing and we love playing with each other, preparing.”“We’re going to take advantage of that and come out ready to go no matter what,” continued McCourty, who is no stranger to him and his team — despite all the success it has enjoyed over the years — being seen as the underdog. “We have a team of great character, a lot of guys in there with really good character that are going to keep fighting and have already been counted out multiple times, so that never affects us.”Tight end Rob Gronkowski, he himself being at the center of multiple rumors over the last year, shared similar thoughts. “You’ve got to ignore the noise throughout the week. You can’t really get too amped up about it because you’ve got to focus, you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do,” the 29-year old said before also acknowledging that not all media-created storylines or criticism glance off the team.“You do hear things like that,” Gronkowski said. “But you’ve got to ignore it in a way where it doesn’t ruin your preparation, ruin what you’re trying to do, ruin what you’re trying to accomplish that week. So Youth Kevin Faulk Jerseys , if you take it in, if you take it for motivation, that’s great. But other than that, you can’t let it get you down. You’ve just got to keep on preparing how you’ve prepared every week.”The preparation aspect is one Hogan also pointed out, especially with the AFC Championship Game coming up. “We’re just going to continue to work hard every single week,” he said after his team’s divisional round victory. “It’s still a one-game season, so we got to get back to work on Kansas City. We’re going to work real hard all throughout the week so that we can go out there and play good football.”Brady himself was also focused on the task at hand after his on-field postgame interview. “We’ve had some tough losses this year, but you just keep fighting,” the future Hall of Famer said during his press conference after Sunday’s contest. “That’s what football is all about. It’s a season. It’s not one game or four games or eight games. It’s 16 games and you get a chance to be in this position. We played good today. That’s why we won.”Ultimately, the Patriots machine will not be undone by rumors or speculation or by being counted out by the media — the team itself will make sure of that and knows how to handle it, it seems. “We’ve been hearing things like that forever now for a few years,” said Gronkowski yesterday. “So, we just laugh at it, whatever they say, and we just keep moving forward.”

I hope everyone’s having a great start to their day. If you haven’t heard by now, the Jets have signed star RB Le’Veon Bell. This is an elite signing by the Jets, and they managed to get him for what I would consider great value. This signing instantly boosts the Jets offense, and allows Sam Darnold to have an amazing receiver as his safety valve out of the backfield. The Jets also have re-signed LB Neville Hewitt. There’s still a fairly large amount of question marks throughout the roster, so hopefully we get some more questions answered today. FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — Davis Webb was just as surprised as everyone else when he was cut by the Giants. The second-year quarterback wasn’t out of a job for long, though. And, he’s ready to move forward with the Jets, who signed him to their practice squad Tuesday.“You never see it coming,” Webb said after his first practice with his new team. “I think everybody was kind of shocked. At the same time, they made a decision. I don’t have to agree with it. But I’m excited to be here and just be the best teammate I can be and just continue to grow.”Webb was the Giants’ third-round pick in last year’s draft Womens Chris Herndon Jersey , but was surprisingly waived Sunday during final roster cuts . The Giants initially had four quarterbacks on their roster before cutting Webb and keeping rookie Kyle Lauletta and veteran Alex Tanney as backups to Eli Manning.Webb didn’t play in a regular-season game last season and was inconsistent this summer in three preseason games.“I didn’t need a reason,” he said. “They made a decision. I didn’t agree with it. I don’t think many people did, especially my teammates. At the same time, I’ve moved on and I wish them nothing but the best.”Webb added that he had an “emotional conversation” with Manning when he was cut after growing close last season. To make room on the practice squad Tuesday, the Jets released quarterback John Wolford. The former Wake Forest star signed with the Jets in August as an undrafted free agent, played the bulk of the preseason finale at Philadelphia and was waived as New York made its final cuts. He was signed to the practice squad Monday.Once Webb was available, the Jets were among the first teams to contact him about an opportunity with them.“I felt like this was the best decision for me,” Webb said. “They showed a lot of interest and I felt wanted. I’m excited to be here. There’s no doubt about that. I get to keep my house, too.”After three years at Texas Tech, Webb transferred to Cal and played one season there. He had a terrific season for the Golden Bears while throwing for 4,295 yards and 37 touchdown passes http://www.jetslockerroom.com/authentic-nathan-shepherd-jersey , and was selected the MVP of the Senior Bowl.“He was somebody we looked at coming out (of college),” coach Todd Bowles said. “To have him available and be able to work with him on the practice squad is something that intrigued us about him, with the size and the arm.”Webb ended up being the fifth quarterback drafted last year and appeared to be a potential future replacement for Manning. But the Giants, with a new general manager in Dave Gettleman and coach in Pat Shurmur, drafted Lauletta in the fourth round. Davis’ future with the franchise then became murky with his uneven preseason during which he was 28 of 53 for 283 yards and one touchdown with no interceptions.“I wouldn’t say ticked off,” Webb said when asked if that’s how he felt about the Giants’ decision. “I think that’s kind of a trick question. I think you have to earn it every single day in this league. I have another opportunity, and I’m excited to be the best quarterback I can be and just continue to grow.”Webb joins a Jets offense that has some familiar faces. He got to know offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates while preparing for the NFL draft in 2016.Webb also met quarterback Sam Darnold when the Jets rookie starter was a junior in high school and attending an Elite 11 camp — where Webb was a counselor.“I knew he could spin it then,” Webb said with a smile. “A few years later, everybody knows he can spin it.”

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Miami Dolphins enjoyed

quite the emotional high last week Ben Gedeon Jersey , defeating despised New England with a double-lateral touchdown that covered 69 yards on the game’s final play to give their long-shot postseason bid a big lift.On the road in Minnesota, Ryan Tannehill and the Dolphins, literally, came crashing back to the turf. The Vikings used a career-high 136 rushing yards and two touchdowns by Dalvin Cook to complement a swarming defense that took down Tannehill behind the line of scrimmage nine times for 71 lost yards in a 41-17 victory on Sunday, tying Miami’s franchise record for sacks allowed.“All around, starting with me, we weren’t good enough,” Tannehill said.Tannehill, who left the game against New England briefly because of an ankle injury, said afterward he felt fine despite the series of collisions he made with the ground throughout the afternoon. Miami’s chance in the AFC wild-card race took the biggest hit, with Baltimore, Indianapolis and Tennessee all winning to move to 8-6 and push the Dolphins (7-7) into ninth place in the conference race. The Dolphins were sacked nine times on Dec. 11, 2011, in a 26-10 loss to Philadelphia http://www.thevikingslockerroom.com/authentic-mackensie-alexander-jersey , with four against Matt Moore and five on J.P. Losman. They also gave up nine sacks on Oct. 17, 1999, all against Damon Huard after he relieved an injured Dan Marino in a 31-30 victory at New England.Coach Adam Gase, whose team fell to 1-6 on the road this year, put the blame for the awful pass protection largely on the offensive line, running backs and tight ends for not giving Tannehill much of a chance.“We just didn’t block well enough,” Gase said. “We knew what we were in for as far as the pass rush. They just beat us.”The Vikings saved eight of their sacks for the second half, after Kalen Ballage’s 75-yard touchdown run on the first snap of the third quarter pulled the Dolphins within 21-17 after they’d fallen behind 21-0.On first-and-10 from Miami’s 38, Tannehill was sacked for a 9-yard loss by blitzing linebacker Anthony Barr. Defensive end Danielle Hunter took him down for an 8-yard loss on the next play, putting the Dolphins in an extremely difficult third-and-27 situation. Tannehill completed an 8-yard dumpoff to Danny Amendola, and the Dolphins had to punt. On their five possessions following the rookie Ballage’s score, the Dolphins netted a staggering minus-27 yards on 16 plays.“Personally, I played my worst game of the season,” said running back Kenyon Drake Womens Adam Thielen Jersey , the hero of the previous game after he crossed the goal line following a 52-yard slither and scamper through New England’s secondary. “I let the team down. I missed a couple key blocks on third down. So you’ve got to look yourself in the mirror and be motivated to get better.”No matter what was going to unfold for the Dolphins down the stretch, topping that “Miami Miracle” sequence was going to be tough. The way they performed against the Vikings all but cemented that play as the season highlight.Though they fell behind by three touchdowns after Minnesota’s first three possessions, the Dolphins insisted they didn’t carry any emotional hangover with them this week . The way they rallied from the early deficit offered evidence that this was true, but the way they wilted over the final 28 minutes of the game raised plenty of questions about the direction of the team nearing the end of Gase’s third year. After going 10-6 and making the playoffs in his rookie season, the Dolphins are 13-17 over the last two years, albeit with Tannehill missing 21 of those 30 games to injury. The Dolphins have been outscored 218-120 in road games this season. They’re 7-17 away from home under Gase, with 11 losses in their last 12 road games.“From my perspective, the guys did a good job of moving on to prepare for Minnesota and not letting it bleed into the next week,” Tannehill said. “We didn’t come out and execute well from the first snap.” A couple of humble requests"As I believe Rob mentioned in one of the Open Threads over the past few days, we are going to start doing separate Open Threads each week for the final season of Game of Thrones. It’s something that a lot of folks here are interested in and spend a lot of time talking about in the various other Open Threads that we put up here. With that said, I’d like to make two small requests for when these threads get underway. They’re both connected and hopefully they’ll make sense.#1 - Don’t come into the Game of Thrones discussion threads griping about Game of Thrones spoilersThe purpose of the Game of Thrones threads is to allow people to. . .you know. . .talk about Game of Thrones. If you don’t want the show spoiled for you, then don’t wander into the thread. Seriously, it’s the equivalent of coming into the Game Threads on Sunday and saying, “Hey Mike Remmers Jersey , everyone, I’m DVRing this so I can watch it later, so don’t go crazy when the Vikings do something good, okay?”In conjunction with this. . .#2 - Don’t post Game of Thrones spoilers anywhere except the Game of Thrones discussion threadsLike any other post, the Game of Thrones discussion posts won’t just go poof and disappear. . .they’ll just slowly get pushed down the page. We’ll probably find a way to put them all in one place for easier access once we get them started. However, given that everyone is going to have a place to openly spoil the show, please refrain from doing it anywhere else. If you want to talk about the show in general, fine, but otherwise don’t post any spoilers outside of the Game of Thrones threads themselves. With that, I hope that everyone enjoys the final season of the show, and maybe someday I’ll take some time to sit down and figure out what all the fuss is about.

The Packers’ franchise left tackle proved to be a severely undervalued commodity in the 2013 NFL Draft."A total of ten draft picks will be at the Green Bay Packers’ disposal heading into the 2019 NFL Draft this April White Darnell Savage Jersey , including a pair of first-round selections. The Packers will also be armed with a couple of choices in the fourth and sixth rounds as the draft reaches the third day. With Green Bay’s recent success picking early in the final day, the team finds itself in a favorable position to land both future stars and contributors. Here is a look back at some of those impact players.David BakhtiariAmong the Packers’ most notable finds in the past seven years has been David Bakhtiari, a tackle prospect from Colorado who quickly fortified the team’s left side. At pick 109, Bakhtiari was drafted in the third-to-fourth round range that many forecasted. Still, grabbing the early entry prospect seemed to be a value selection even at the time. After a rookie season in which he started all 16 games, Bakhtiari already proved to be a steal and that notion is a consensus now that he has been named to the All-Pro team three times. However, some evaluators had their concerns about Bakhtiari leading up to the draft, including Mike Mayock in his player profile for NFL.com. Mayock was not convinced about about Bakhtiari’s ability to play tackle at the next level, much less left tackle. He cited Bakhtiari’s need to gain weight to be able to withstand an initial jolt at the line and was concerned about being beaten easily off the edge by speed rushers. But the Packers’ left tackle added about 10 pounds to his frame as a professional and has been able to weather a variety of pass rush moves, while perfecting his technique as a blocker. Mayock did get one thing right: Bakhtiari “possesses a mean attitude to finish off blocks.”Mike DanielsTaken one year before Bakhtiari, Daniels has become the best player of a 2012 Packer draft class that included the likes of Nick Perry and Casey Hayward. Even as a prospect, Daniels received glowing remarks for his intangibles despite less-than-ideal athletic traits. Bucky Brooks of NFL.com included buzz words in his assessment of the 132nd overall pick Daniels that have come to define him as a player.A lack of size has never been a deterrent for Daniels in becoming a disruptive interior lineman. His leadership and effort helped earn him a second contract in Green Bay in itself Kenny Clark Jersey , while his brute strength has always allowed Daniels to hold up against double teams as a strong rush defender. Though injuries have slowed him down the past two seasons, Daniels remains one of the team’s best third-day gems.Blake MartinezAs a more recent addition to the franchise as the 131st overall selection of the 2016 NFL Draft, Martinez still has plenty of room to eventually top this list as a 41-game starter over three seasons. But his draft grade would not necessarily have indicated that.NFL.com just barely placed Martinez within the range of a “backup or eventual starter,” nearly being labeled a “developmental prospect with special teams potential.” Lance Zierlein questioned Martinez’s quickness and described him as “more of a block occupier than serious threat when blitzing.” Quieting some doubters, Martinez tallied five sacks this past season for Green Bay. While Zierlein questioned Martinez’s situational awareness, he did acknowledge his makeup as a high tackle producer in the mold of a throwback linebacker. With a team-leading 142 and 144 tackles, respectively, over the past pair of seasons, Martinez has continued to rack up stops for Green Bay. And as Mark Dulgerian noted immediately after the selection, Martinez became “one of the better picks of the 4th round” as an “instinctive, thumping tackler.”Entering just his age-25 season in 2019, Martinez may not possess the same elite Ka'dar Hollman Green Bay Packers Jersey , athletic traits of other inside linebacker prospects from his draft class. But he has been a stable presence in Green Bay at a position that struggled for a while to find a suitable playmaker. Martinez may be on the cusp of a Pro Bowl bid in the next couple of years. GREEN BAY, Wis. — For a change, it was the Packers in a runaway.Packers CoverageBucks’ Wes Matthews loves Wisconsin, is a Vikings fanPreview: Packers look to slow Vikings’ revitalized run gameTop Tweets: Yelich thanks fans for support after season-ending injuryAmos sparks rebuilt Packers defense in debutPackers to be tested again by familiar foe in Zimmer, VikingsPackers’ new-look defense carries offense in season openerPackers Snap Counts: New coach LaFleur gets TEs involvedUpon Further Review: Packers at BearsPHOTOS: Packers at BearsDefense leads the way as Packers top Bears in openerAaron Jones ran for career highs of 145 yards and two scores, Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams connected for two touchdown passes and the Green Bay beat the Miami Dolphins 31-12 on Sunday. The Packers (4-4-1) pulled away in the second half, sandwiching scoring drives around cornerback Bashaud Breeland’s interception deep in Miami territory. Green Bay went ahead 28-12 on Adams’ 25-yard touchdown catch with 7:24 left in the third quarter.“This league has always been about big plays,” coach Mike McCarthy said. “You can’t score points without big plays and you have to make big plays to win the game.”Maybe this is the victory that will get the Packers going in the tight NFC North race following a choppy first half of the season.Jason Sanders tied a Dolphins franchise rookie record with four field goals, but Miami (5-5) couldn’t find the end zone. The Dolphins squandered another opportunity on the game-opening drive after Brock Osweiler fumbled away a shotgun snap. The Packers cashed in on that turnover, too, when Rodgers and Adams connected on their first touchdown for a 7-0 lead.“We turned it over and we didn’t take advantage of opportunities,” Dolphins coach Adam Gase said. His defense also had trouble slowing down Jones Justin McCray Jersey , who finished with 15 carries to give Green Bay some much-needed balance.A slashing style and an explosive burst through the hole make Jones a threat to bust a big run on any carry. He accounted for 54 yards of total offense on the opening drive alone.Jones added a career-long 67-yarder to give him 96 yards on four carries in the first quarter alone.“We got the run game going. We had a lot more balance, which we hadn’t had all season,” said Rodgers, who was 19 of 28 for 199 yards.Adams had four catches for 57 yards.BROCK STOPS HEREOsweiler was 23 of 37 for 213 yards in his fifth start for the injured Ryan Tannehill. Miami had 294 yards of total offense, an admirable effort given that they were missing three starting offensive linemen. But Osweiler was sacked six times, including three straight plays late in the fourth quarter.“Overall, I just need to be better and this organization deserves better because we left a lot on the table out there tonight,” Osweiler said.RECORD RUNA 9-yard run with about 3½ minutes left in the first quarter put Miami’s Frank Gore over the 500-yard mark for an NFL-record 14th straight season. He broke a tie with Hall of Famers Emmitt Smith and Walter Payton.RUNNING AWAYJones said he had about 10 family members, including both of his parents, in the stands at Lambeau to watch his career night.“It means a lot. I didn’t tell anybody, but I made this game for my parents. So now I’ve got two touchdown balls to give to both of them,” he said. “It works out. It’s a blessing.”COSTLY KICKSanders booted a kickoff out of bounds after his fourth field goal to allow the Packers to start their next drive at the 40 Ka'dar Hollman Jersey 2019 , which ended with a 10-yard touchdown run by Jones.UNDAUNTED DOLPHINSGase said the team believed they could win on Sunday despite so many injuries, not including the ones that happened during the game. Miami forced two turnovers on special teams, blocking a punt and forcing Tramon Williams to fumble on a return for good field position each time.“That field position, we didn’t take advantage of,” Gase said. “Those type of things, you can’t do against this guy (Rodgers). You do that, it’s just a matter of time before he makes it right.”INJURIESDolphins: RB Kenyan Drake left with a knee injury the second quarter. … WRs Davante Parker (shoulder) and Jakeem Grant (leg) left in the third quarter.Packers: A defense already missing CB Kevin King (hamstring) lost two more starters in the first half when S Kentrell Brice departed with an ankle injury and linebacker Nick Perry limped off with a knee injury. Brice (knee) and Perry (ankle) had been on the injury report last week for other ailments. … OL Lucas Patrick (concussion protocol) did not return after taking a hard hit while returning a short kickoff in the first quarter. … In the fourth quarter, Breeland left with a groin injury.UP NEXTDolphins: Have a bye next week before a trip to Indianapolis on Nov. 25.Packers: Visit the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday.
