New shoes? Okay, maybe that's not a thing, but considering that we just entered a whole new decade, it's fully justifiable to treat yourself to a pair of shoes. The dawn of 2020 brought us a fresh set of footwear trends, so we talked to the experts at Bloomingdales and Net-A-Porter for their predictions on the the Golden Goose Hi Star biggest of the year (you know, so you can feel better about splurging).

It's now 2020 and, in the wake of the horrific killing of George Floyd by the Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin and his three colleagues, the entire world is discussing the subject.

Unfortunately, this means consumers have come to expect a sad compromise when it comes to 'green' goods-low on style, high on conscience. It seems that while they're conscious to keep their finger on their pulse, they've also recognized that the principles they laid out as the foundation for the brand have put them in surprisingly good stead to navigate this strange new world.

"I sit down to work on something, I kick them off, and then maybe I'll just pull a different pair on. It's a vortex, for sure. Indeed, the pair appear to have adapted to the challenges posed by the pandemic with aplomb-they talk of constant exchanges of images over WhatsApp, socially-distanced garden meetups with their pattern cutter, and fabrics posted back and forth-while also taking the time to ask bigger questions about the brand's long-term future. One area they have been reconsidering is their proposed seasonal calendar.

She never played a mom before, or even worked with infants. "Do away with the notion that if you're a size 8, you're always going to be a size 8," says Dombroski. Myriam and her sister are themselves working to innovate in the fashion industry through their novel store concept. The brand's first shop is located on Montreal's St-Laurent Blvd, and a new Toronto location opened its doors a few weeks ago; both are operating with COVID-19 measures in place.

You can take the investment route with Prada's combat boots-complete with ankle bags-but there are affordable OG styles like Doc Martens' platform pair. The second thing was I wanted to get stories from people-influencers, celebrities, as well as just the average person-who've all worn the shoe, and I've found that it's just become part of the fabric of some people's lives and families. "Over the past months we've seen so much violence against people of color," Do says.

"In a previous life, I had a sporting career," says Brown. "I was playing in the Australian Soccer League. "That's one of the gambles that has paid off during the pandemic. Another decision that Golden Goose Purestar helped us was to produce in New York, where we could have direct control over the quality of production." With his early success on Instagram and the community Do fostered around the brand, he already had plans for a virtual showroom in the works.
