Following a rather subdued free agency period, the Falcons are preparing to regain their status as a top contender through the draft. A repeat of the 2016 draft would be the dream scenario for Dan Quinn. For all the disappointment from last season, the rookie class looked extremely impressive as an overall group. The front office is putting together quite a resume of pinpointing which players could be difference makers in the middle-to-later rounds.Unlike past years, the pressure has intensified going into the draft. They desperately need to land immediate contributors to improve in the trenches. Whoever is selected will be expected to play significant snaps immediately. Multiple rookies could end up being difference makers based on the lack of depth across the defensive line. The same may apply to other positions outside of the defensive line. Here are the Falcons’ top five needs going into the draft.Defensive TackleA strong case can be made for edge rusher as the Falcons’ biggest positional need. The lack of consistency off the edge is concerning. Based on Takk McKinley’s upside and Quinn’s insistence on trying to salvage Vic Beasley’s career, it’s clear who the main edge rushing threats are going into the season. That can (and should) change by signing a veteran or drafting a prospect. Nevertheless, defensive tackle gets the slight nod because of the lack of depth and talent. Grady Jarrett is a certified star. There is no denying what he offers as a disruptive force. It’s hard to be overly optimistic about the rest of the group. As well as Jack Crawford played last season, he is entering the final year of his contract. The coaching staff may also use him more as an edge defender in base this season. With Brooks Reed and Derrick Shelby gone, Quinn will need reinforcements to set the edge on running downs. Deadrin Senat showed promise early in the season before hitting the proverbial rookie wall. His lack of push as a pass rusher may make him best suited for strictly a run-stuffing role. There isn’t a specific defensive tackle that should be targeted. The front office should consider drafting multiple defensive tackles to continue strengthening a problematic area. Selecting Ed Oliver and an intriguing prospect in the later rounds could do wonders for a defensive line in dire need of talent.Edge RusherIt’s no secret what the main emphasis will be during the draft. Improving in the trenches must be the biggest priority for the Falcons. While selecting a capable right tackle to compete with Ty Sambrailo is certainly an option Stephen Denmark Chicago Bears Jerseys , an edge rusher must be drafted within the first three rounds. It’s a position filled with question marks. McKinley has clear pass rushing ability, but there are concerns about his inability to evolve. The questions about Beasley are evident. Quinn hasn’t been shy about wanting to push him more than ever this offseason. The coaching staff can’t possibly depend on both young edge rushers without capable backup plans following last season’s debacle. Reinforcements are needed in order to generate pressure with a four-man rush. Everyone knows Quinn prefers to rely on rushing four rather than dialing up exotic blitzes. For an effective four-man rush to exist in Atlanta, more talent is needed up front. Unless a veteran edge rusher is signed, the Falcons need to add a highly regarded prospect to push both former first-round picks. It would be a bonus if the player can shift inside similar to how McKinley was used last season.Right TackleDespite being re-signed to a surprisingly long-term deal, Sambrailo can’t be considered as adefinitive long-term solution. His six starts in two seasons were largely underwhelming. Between not being able to stay in front of edge rushers to missing second-level blocks, there isn’t much evidence to feel confident about Sambrailo as the default starter. He will likely get the first crack to replace Ryan Schraeder. To not bring in a potential replacement for a player who has struggled for the majority of his career would be nonsensical. It will be fascinating to see how the front office evaluates offensive linemen going forward. Signing James Carpenter and Jamon Brown represented a philosophy change. While Dirk Koetter still plans on using zone-blocking concepts, the message is clear about getting bigger up front. The days of focusing on smaller, more technical offensive linemen appear to be over. Drafting a right tackle in the 320 to 330-pound range would solidify their intentions on building a more power-based line. Whoever the tackle may be, he could find himself starting by October.Nickel CornerNot signing a veteran slot corner was one of the few surprises in an otherwise quiet free agency period for the Falcons. Most expected them to add a veteran to provide depth at a position filled with question marks. It’s understandable why Robert Alford and Brian Poole are no longer on the team. Both players allowed far too many big plays to go along with not being ideal corners for Quinn’s scheme. For all their struggles last season, they played an extraordinary amount of snaps over the past three seasons. Replacing them won’t be as easy as some suspect.Isaiah Oliver has the skill set to succeed Chicago Bears Jerseys Stitched , but he didn’t exactly look comfortable in man coverage on limited snaps. How Damontae Kazee shifts back into playing corner will be something to monitor. For all his success as a playmaker, he spent the last two seasons acclimating to playing free safety. Will that affect him when reverting into a slot corner? There is no telling how he will fare in man coverage against shifty slot receivers. That is why the Falcons should look to add another cornerback in case things begin to crumble. There are no guarantees with Oliver or Kazee. Another option would bring much-needed depth back to a position that was once the strongest position on the roster.Outside LinebackerFor as talented as the linebacker group looks on paper, things could quickly change in one season. Deion Jones will receive a lofty contract extension at some point in the next year. The rise of Foye Oluokun was one of the few highlights in an otherwise abysmal year for the Falcons’ defense. De’Vondre Campbell continues to be a steady contributor. To have three talented linebackers on paper looks great, but there are reasons to be concerned. Campbell will be a free agent next year. Based on his credentials and the front office’s major priorities, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him sign elsewhere. Oluokun’s willingness to take on blocks and be a physical presence deserves to be valued. His lack of awareness and range may limit him into being a more rotational piece rather than a legitimate starting weak side linebacker. Duke Riley is essentially competing for a roster spot at this point. That leaves the linebacker group as a potential concern going into 2020. Good teams know how to stay prepared ahead of time in case a key player can’t be re-signed. With Quinn being known for taking linebackers in the later rounds, he could choose to do so once again. Seahawks rookie Shaquem Griffin started at weakside linebacker and played 41 of 74 snaps. Austin Calitro played 33.But Seahawks coach Pete Carroll suggested Tuesday that Calitro could see more time this week as starter K.J. Wright remains out with a knee issue. “Austin did pretty well and Griff, he had some problems on some stuff,” Carroll said, via Brady Henderson of ESPN. “There were some things that happened to him that wasn’t quite as clean as we would have liked. He got fooled on a couple things, but he played hard Stephen Denmark Jersey 2019 , and he played tough and all of that. It’s just [his] first game, trying to figure it out. Even through preseason, he’s had a lot of reps, but stuff happened to him for the first time in this game that hadn’t happened before, and he didn’t always see it the way he needed to.“It’s a difficult transition that he’s making. It’s a lot to do in a short amount of time. They had a nice offense; they did some nice stuff, and he wasn’t quite where he wanted to be at times. So we’ll just keep going. We’ll find out during the week how the guys play and how they do and how practice goes, and we’ll see what we’re going to do about play time.”

The Cowboys used almost all of the 10-minute overtime, scoring with 1:55 remaining.“I knew I had the slant route there, but I knew he would sit on it,” Cooper said. “I tried to sell the fade. It didn’t really work, but I just stayed with the ball and there you have it.”By winning the third overtime game in the past four seasons at A&T Stadium between these division rivals, the Cowboys (8-5) won their fifth straight game and took a two-game lead over the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles (6-7) and Washington with three games left.Carson Wentz threw for three touchdowns, including a pair of tying scores in the fourth quarter. But he never got a chance in overtime because Prescott engineered a 13-play, 75-yard drive.Prescott overcame two interceptions and a lost fumble to set career highs in completions (42), attempts (54) and yards passing (455).“Helpless feeling Philadelphia Eagles Jerseys 2019 ,” Wentz said. “I’ve got a lot of lot of confidence in the defense. They were making plays today. We just didn’t do enough early offensively and that cost us.”The Cowboys dominated almost from the start, but let the Eagles stay close to set up a wild fourth quarter. Dallas, which can clinch the NFC East title with a win at Indianapolis next Sunday, finished with 576 yards, the most since gaining 578 against the St. Louis Cardinals in 1973.Cooper finished with a career-high 217 yards receiving on 10 catches in his second game in the past three with at least 180 yards and two scores. All three of Cooper’s touchdowns — the others from 75 and 28 yards — were in the fourth quarter and overtime.Acquired from Oakland for a 2019 first-round draft pick seven games into the season, Cooper leads the NFL with 642 yards receiving since Week 9, his first game with the Cowboys. He had nine catches for 190 yards after halftime. The Cowboys went for it on fourth-and-1 from the Eagles 19 in overtime and got it with a 1-yard plunge from Ezekiel Elliott, who had 192 yards from scrimmage on 40 touches — 28 carries for 113 yards and 12 catches for 79.Cooper converted a pair of third downs on the winning drive. The first one was big, too — a 12-yarder on third-and-9 from the Philadelphia 40.“I was almost I guess I would say astonished that we were able to get that trade,” said Prescott, whose has seen a significant jump in completion percentage, yards per game and passer rating in six games with Cooper.“So I guess if you say that, when we’re getting a trade Mens Andre Dillard Jersey , well, what’s wrong? And then to get him and see everything turning out and playing out the way it is, we’re very, very fortunate.”Brett Maher set a Dallas franchise record with a 62-yard field goal on the final play of the first half and had three field goals. The game went from a defensive struggle with missed Dallas opportunities that kept the Eagles close to a wild fourth-quarter shootout.Wentz thought he had answered the 75-yard touchdown to Cooper with 3:01 remaining with a matching 75-yarder to tight end Dallas Goedert. But Goedert was called for pass interference, apparently for pushing off against Jeff Heath before bouncing off a helmet-to-helmet hit from Xavier Woods that wasn’t called and running to the end zone from midfield.Philadelphia scored anyway, with Wentz leading a more methodical march to his third touchdown pass, a 6-yarder to Darren Sproles for a 23-23 tie with 1:39 to go in regulation.Douglas had the first interception of Prescott in the first half, but couldn’t get a second hand on the ball for the depleted Philadelphia secondary against Cooper with the game on the line.“I played it perfectly,” he said. “I couldn’t get the other hand in there to get the pick. I tried to bat it down.”DEJA VUTwo years ago, the Cowboys won by the same score with a touchdown on the first possession of overtime. Prescott was on his way to NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honors, and Elliott went on to win the league rushing title as a rookie. The 12-play, 75-yard drive took 7:12 and was capped by Prescott’s 5-yard TD to now-retired tight end Jason Witten.LOPSIDED STATS, CLOSE GAMEThe Cowboys outgained the Eagles 576-256 and had twice as many first downs (32-16). Dallas ran 93 plays to 48 for Philadelphia and had the ball for 45:33 compared to 22:32 for the Eagles.“Give them credit for fighting and scratching and clawing and doing the things necessary to stay in the ballgame Youth Andre Dillard Jersey ,” Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said.INJURIESCowboys RG Zack Martin left in the second half with a knee injury. The four-time Pro Bowler has been battling a knee issue all season. … Philadelphia RB Corey Clement injured his right knee when he was stopped for a 4-yard loss late in the first quarter and didn’t return. … Eagles defensive end Josh Sweat left in the first half with an ankle injury and didn’t return.UP NEXTEagles: At LA Rams next Sunday.Cowboys: At Indianapolis next Sunday. NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Saints starting defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins and Eagles right guard Brandon Brooks each had leg injuries within a few plays of one another and each was taken from the field in a cart during the first quarter of New Orleans’ divisional-round playoff game with Philadelphia on Sunday. The injuries mounted even more for Philadelphia in the second quarter, albeit temporarily, when defensive back Rasul Douglas, defensive tackle Fletcher Cox and defensive end Michael Bennett all came off the field needing attention. The Eagles announced that Douglas injured an ankle, but he returned. Cox and Bennett also both returned late in the first half.Rankins, a 2016 first-round draft choice, entered the game second on the Saints with eight sacks. His departure came as the Saints struggled to slow Nick Foles and the Eagles, who reached the end zone on their first drive and were in the midst of a second touchdown drive when Rankins went down. The Saints’ defensive standout pounded his fist as he lay prone on the turf and later was ruled out for the remainder of the game.Brooks was injured just a few plays later, but his departure did not slow the Eagles, who covered 34 yards in the next three plays to take a 14-0 lead. The Eagles announced that Brown was questionable to return with a leg injury.

JACKSONVILLE Womens Justin Blackmon Jersey , Fla. (AP) — a player who played less than 30 percent of the snaps this season.Running back Leonard Fournette was injured, suspended and on the bench in crunch time. He was fined, criticized and admittedly not in ideal shape late in the year.Fournette was more of a problem than a pro.And now the Jaguars (5-11) have to decide what to do with the fourth overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft. It’s one of the main questions Jacksonville faces as it heads into an offseason that will be focused on revamping an offense that ranked 31st in the league in scoring.Coach Doug Marrone confirmed Monday that the team has voided the remaining guarantees in Fournette’s four-year rookie contract worth $27.1 million. The team made the move following Fournette’s weeklong suspension in late November. Fournette still could challenge the decision, which could cost him up to $7.1 million. At the very least, Fournette is now at risk of being cut or traded. No one would be surprised to see either happen after Sunday’s season finale at Houston.Fournette and fellow running back T.J. Yeldon spent most of the 20-3 loss on the bench and disengaged from coaches and teammates. Fournette was inactive because of foot and ankle injuries; Yeldon was active but did not play.“It’s disappointing what occurred the other day,” Marrone said Monday. “We have taken care of it from a disciplinary standpoint, but like what I’ve always told you, those things remain between the club and the player.”Personnel chief Tom Coughlin ripped both players for being “disrespectful” and “selfish.”“Their behavior was unbecoming of a professional football player,” Coughlin said in a statement.Fournette has missed 11 games in two seasons because of injuries and suspensions. The former LSU star ran for 439 yards and five touchdowns in eight games this season after running for 1,040 yards and nine touchdowns as a rookie. But he also was suspended one game in 2017 for leaving early during the bye week and suspended a week without pay for leaving the bench, running across the field and instigating a fight with Buffalo defensive end Shaq Lawson on Nov. 25. Fournette lost nearly $100,000 in salary during the weeklong suspension. It could cost him considerably more if the Jaguars decided to cut him with no guaranteed money remaining.“I definitely pride myself on trying to help some of the younger guys develop,” veteran defensive end Calais Campbell said. “I do believe that he’s a good person at heart and wants to be a good player. This is a unique situation Cam Robinson Jersey , but I believe that he’s going to continue to mature and hopefully be who we need him to be.”Jaguars owner Shad Khan opted to keep Coughlin, Marrone and general manager Dave Caldwell intact for 2019 , giving them a chance to fix the team’s problems. Jacksonville finished last in the AFC South after making the conference championship game last January, a freefall that could be blamed mostly on offensive injuries and ineptitude.Offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett was fired in November, creating one opening Marrone still has to fill. Quarterback Blake Bortles, who regressed in his fifth season and was benched, expects to be released before March.“When things don’t go well, a lot of it falls on the quarterback’s shoulders,” Bortles said. “I know that and signed up for that and have no problem with it, whether it’s a scapegoat or whatever you want to call it, somebody’s got to take the blame when things don’t go well. I think Nathaniel was one of those guys. I think I’m one of those guys. And I think other guys on this team were part of that as well.”Right tackle Jermey Parnell, tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins and running back Carlos Hyde could join Bortles in the free-agent market. Yeldon, receiver Donte Moncrief http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-myles-jack-jersey , right guard A.J. Cann and running back Corey Grant are soon-to-be free agents. So are eight reserve offensive linemen. So numerous changes are coming for Jacksonville’s offense. And now Fournette’s future looks as wobbly as one of Bortles’ passes.“Availability, coachability and scheme,” Marrone said when asked about the offensive makeover ahead. “When I talk about that, we have to do a better job with the players we have available. We have to do a better job if those players don’t become available, what we’re going to do next. I think that’s an important thing when we look at it, and I think that was a mistake that I made this year.”Grade the 2018 Jacksonville Jaguars: How did the offense do in the first quarter? As the Jacksonville Jaguars get ready to take on the Kansas City Chiefs, let’s take a look back at how they got here. We’ll be grading the offense, defense, and special teams separately through the week and up first — the offense!Alfie Crow (@AlfieBCC)The Jaguars offense has been an up and down affair and has been missing some pieces, but through the first four games of the season I think it’s been OK. The Titans always give the Jaguars offense fits, because they play a type of game that drags teams down into the mud and fights them. To beat that, you need consistency at quarterback and well... That’s just not Blake. Conversely, the Jaguars have had two games where their offense was just straight up electric. I think the truth is somewhere between the Jets game and the Giants game Womens Yannick Ngakoue Jersey , but overall it’s been pretty solid and the offensive line, even with the injuries, has been fantastic.Grade: BRyan Day (@ryaneatscake)The offense runs through the quarterback no matter what the team tries to do in the run game. Leonard Fournette has missed a little more than three games of total playing time, leaving before halftime in Weeks 1 and 4 and missing the two games in between entirely. As Blake Bortles goes, so does this offense, which has looked good two weeks, meh one week, and awful another. That’s good enough to get to 3-1 but it’ll need some consistency as we go into the second quarter of the year. I’ve got them between a C+ and a B- and I’ll give them the edge because they beat Tom Brady and that was fun to watch.Grade: B-Jon Kirland (@BCBCouch)The offensive line has been solid and on pace to allow only 24 sacks this season. T.J. Yeldon has been better than expected, when healthy, in filling in for Leonard Fournette, the young receiver trio is coming along, and the unsung hero in my opinion has been Austin Seferian-Jenkins, who has become a younger Marcedes Lewis DJ Chark Jersey , somewhat unexpectedly. Bortles has really only had one awful game (Tennessee), one average at best game (Giants), and two jaw-dropping games (Patriots and Jets). In my opinion, two solid A games boost them up, but an F versus the Titans that may haunt them in December, drags them down here.Grade: C+Ryan O’Bleness (@ryanobleness)The offense has had two very strong games and two games that left a lot to be desired. The offensive explosions against the New York Jets and New England Patriots were a lot of fun to watch, and I think it makes it obvious that the success of the offense hinges on the play of Blake Bortles — especially with Leonard Fournette sidelined. T.J. Yeldon has stepped up and done an admiral job filling in for Fournette, but I still think the offense is much stronger with a fully healthy Fournette in the backfield. The problem is that the offense will remain as inconsistent as Bortles plays. That said, this team could be unstoppable if Bortles is able to put it all together throughout the season like he did this past Sunday. Grade: BBrian Fullford (@iambwf)I may be a bit more optimistic than my fellow writers. Two games at “A”, one at “F”, and one at “C” quality do not tell the whole story. Amidst injuries the offensive line has protected Blake and opened running lanes. The receiving corps has looked young but are making big plays. Leonard Fournette’s injury exploits a depth problem at running back, but T.J. Yeldon has stepped up as a multi-dimensional asset. Blake is Blake, and we’ll rise and fall on his confidence waves all season. Still http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-a.-j.-cann-jersey , he’s climbing the pocket and making the throws with greater consistency earlier in the season than we have seen in the past. They key for me is the ability of the coaches to adapt to personnel and competition, and for the most part they have optimized what they have. They are letting Blake throw the ball more, which surely helps a Yeldon in the running game. All that said, the inability to beat the Titans is inexcusable and it’s only for my mercy that this isn’t a “C-”. On top of that, seven turnovers isn’t a confidence boost. This unit must string together some consistency.Grade: C+Filip Prus (@JaxonFil)The Jaguars offense has been hot and cold throughout the first four weeks of the season. On any given week, Blake Bortles has struggled to hit an open receiver from six yards out to surpassing a career high in passing yards to not being able. It may be a little unfair due to their franchise fulcrum Leonard Fournette not being available, but his absence has allowed Nathaniel Hackett to flourish for three out of the four games with out-of-the-box play calling and high percentage route running to manufacture the run game with screens and crossers. Statistically, they currently rank 15th in yards per game and are tied for the fifth-most giveaways with seven.Grade: C+

When an offense like the Bears puts on a show and scores 48 points William Perry Jersey , there are going to be more than a few standout performers. as the quarterback. But it was thanks to the efforts of Tarik Cohen and Taylor Gabriel lighting up the Buccaneers this past Sunday that Trubisky was able to enjoy such a stellar day where he threw for six touchdowns. As the duo combined for over 280 offensive yards on 28 combined touches and three scores, both the electric Cohen and Gabriel were named to the Pro Football Focus Week 4 Team of the Week. Ironically, as a running back, it was through Cohen’s receiving ability where he picked up 121 yards on a very efficient 15 snaps as a receiver. If that’s production he can keep going, this Bears offense will only continue to rise. Meanwhile for Gabriel, in the midst of having his first career 100-yard receiving day, the 5-foot-8 wideout continually made plays downfield. Gabriel caught two passes deep for 63 yards as Tampa Bay had no answer for his output. If the Bears can this dynamic combination going consistently well http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-mike-ditka-jersey , then there’s no telling how well Trubisky and company perform in the future. Not to be outdone or sound like a broken record in comparison to the Bears’ first great offense afternoon, but Khalil Mack also featured as Week 4’s highest-graded edge defender. Getting a strip sack in four consecutive weeks will do that. You can follow him on Twitter @RobertZeglinski. LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP)All Zach Miller knows is he’s not setting any limits on his recovery – and his doctors aren’t either.Whether the Chicago Bears‘ tight end can play again after a gruesome injury last season nearly cost him his left leg still is to be determined.”There has not been a definitive `You can never do this again,”’ Miller said.”That hasn’t been talked about. It’s approach this as you are planning to get back to where I can be myself and play football Womens Richard Dent Jersey , and then when that time comes some of that is out of my hands. So, I’m just going to do as much as I can to get to that point and see what happens.”The Bears placed Miller on the physically unable to perform list on Tuesday, one day after he signed a one-year contract. The deal was at least a goodwill gesture for a popular player who dislocated his knee trying to make a touchdown catch during the Week 8 game at New Orleans. He has undergone nine surgeries since then, but was walking on his own by late December.Miller has been spending several hours a day at the team’s facility in rehab and meetings. Though he is not yet allowed to run, he can at least play with his children. He’s also wearing a brace on his leg to hold up a dropped foot that was brought on by nerve damage. The nerve started functioning again in the past month, and Miller ”wanted to have a party” that day.”I don’t think I’ve ever been mentally defeated – ever,” he said. ”I feel good. I’m happy with where I’m at and with my recovery. I’m happy with the steps that we’ve made. Positivity has been one of my qualities that’s helped get me through all this stuff. After spending 2014 on injured reserve, he started 28 of 33 games while making 101 receptions for 1 http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-brian-urlacher-jersey ,161 yards and 11 touchdowns the past three years. He also spent three seasons with Jacksonville.A healthy Miller probably would have a big role on a team that invested heavily on the offense in the offseason in order to get the most out of quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. The Bears hired an offensive-minded coach in Nagy to replace the fired John Fox and overhauled their receiving group, most notably signing Allen Robinson. They believe bigger things are in store after four straight last-place finishes in the NFC North. And Miller would love to play in Nagy’s offense.”That’s the bittersweet part of it, seeing first of all how awesome Coach Nagy is, not only as a guy but his football knowledge is unbelievable,” Miller said.”Very cool, very collected, has a little bit of swagger to him Womens Leonard Floyd Jersey , which is just fun to be around. Then you go to the football field and you look at the scheme that we have. It would be a lot of fun to be a part of. It’s not in the cards quite yet for me to take part in that.”But as I sit and I watch and I see the weapons that we have and what we’ve added, the dynamic ability that we have as a collective group, positive future here and I’m excited to be a part of it.”—

Today, they will host the Arizona Cardinals (2-8) led by running back David Johnson. The Chargers will be without Brandon Mebane and Corey Liuget along the interior of their defensive line and Denzel Perryman in the middle of the front seven. They will likely need to put pressure on the Cardinals to throw the ball by scoring when they are on offense because they could be in trouble if the Cardinals are allowed to stick by their running game.Scoring should not be too much of a problem for the Chargers, however, as Melvin Gordon and Tyrell Williams were both deemed healthy enough to play this afternoon. They will be joined by Philip Rivers, who is in the midst of a career year, Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, and Austin Ekeler. They should have more than enough firepower offensively to force the Cardinals to air the ball out to keep up. The new helmet rules continue to be applied as written. Which will continue to make football something other than football. In Saturday night’s game between the Chargers and Cardinals, a pair of fouls were called on Arizona players. One Los Angeles Chargers Jerseys Stitched , a penalty called on safety A.J. Howard, wiped out a fumble that the Cardinals had recovered. It was called an illegal hit on a defenseless receiver, but Chargers tight end Sean Culkin surely had the ball long enough to no longer be defenseless (indeed, he had the ball long enough to complete the process of making the catch). The far more likely reality is that Howard was flagged for lowering his helmet to initiate contact, which is precisely what he did.But here’s the problem: What else could he have done? Watch the video; Howard tries to execute a form tackle in real time and at full speed. But he misses the mark and his helmet hits Culkin. As the rule is written, it should be a penalty every time.It happened again, in the same game. Cardinals safety Travell Dixon, while apparently attempting to execute a form tackle, lowered his helmet and made contact with Chargers receiver Geremy Davis. The flag was thrown. Again, as the rule is written, it’s a foul.Yes Youth Nasir Adderley Jersey , referee Brad Allen has said that more of these fouls will be called during the preseason. But the rule says what it says, and the rule is being applied properly. The problem is that the non-football players who crafted the 21-word rule made it so broad that it will attempt to correct behavior that is, as a practical matter, uncorrectable within the confines of the way the game has been played, for decades.Coaches should be concerned. Owners should be concerned. Executives should be concerned. The Commissioner should be concerned.Someone hijacked the game in March by downplaying to the membership what this rule would do to the game, comparing it to the rule that prohibits the ramming of the top of the helmet into an opponent outside the tackle box. Players quickly stopped using that technique, because it was a specific, defined maneuver that was easily spotted, easily called, and easily abandoned. This new rule is far broader, encompassing not only the intentional use of the helmet as a weapon but all inadvertent contact that occurs when one player who is moving collides with another player who is moving. And the smart thing to do would be to re-write the rule in a more narrow and precise way Nasir Adderley Jersey 2019 , to convene an emergency meeting of the owners (by phone if need be), and to ram through the revised rule the same way the first version of the rule was rammed through the league meetings in March.Recent history suggests that the NFL would never be willing to admit its blunder and to take proper action, opting instead to keep its head down, to deny the existence of a serious problem, and to suggest that anyone who sees this rule as something that could make the game unwatchable and arbitrary is overreacting. (That “anyone” could soon be “everyone.”)So get ready for a season that will quite possibly carry an asterisk for all the wrong reasons. It quite possibly will be the season in which ambiguity, happenstance, and random discretion ultimately have a significant role in who makes it to the playoffs and, ultimately, who wins the Super Bowl.

Douglas has emerged as the favorite for the job, with other candidates including Seahawks co-director of player personnel Scott Fitterer, Bears assistant director of player personnel Champ Kelly, Vikings assistant G.M. That’s right, it’s the second of three installments of this series that builds a stacked starting unit from pieces selected only from the NFC East.On offense Philadelphia Eagles Jerseys Stitched , the scorecard leaned in favor of the Philadelphia Eagles with five selections. The Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants checked in with three, while Washington is still waiting to get on the board. It’s a real “will they, won’t they” with Washington, but luckily for them they finally get representation fairly early in this process. We discussed the entire roster on The Kist & Solak Show #102 as Benjamin Solak was kind enough to give me some help sorting out the defense. Here’s how things shook out...DEFENSIVE TACKLE #1: Fletcher Cox (Eagles)It’s an obvious choice given Cox’s dominance in recent history. Only one defensive tackle has held a candle to him, and that’s the Los Angeles Rams’ Aaron Donald, which was not lost on the folks at Pro Football Focus. Cox was their fourth best player entering the 2019 season and they had this to say about the comparison with Donald:DEFENSIVE TACKLE #2: Jonathan Allen (Washington)Washington has shown a penchant for Alabama prospects by filling their roster with former Tide players. The best of that bunch is Allen, Washington’s first round selection in 2017. Allen gets the nod over the competition because he boasts a complete game and made major strides as a pass rusher on his way to accumulating 8 sacks in 2018.The other contenders have holes in their game that keep them from surpassing Allen. Dalvin Tomlinson needs to add “pass rusher” to his résumé, Malik Jackson was certified buns in run defense last year, and the dark horse BJ Hill has to take another leap after an impressive rookie campaign. For Washington Andre Dillard Jersey Color Rush , Allen, Da’Ron Payne and Matt Ioannidis are as good as it gets for defensive tackle depth.DEFENSIVE END #1: DeMarcus Lawrence (Cowboys)With 25 sacks over the last two years, there’s no question that Lawrence is the cream of the crop when it comes to rushing the passer in the East. According to PFF, in that same span Lawrence’s 19.4% pass rush win-rate ranks 5th among edge defenders with over 500 rushes. With concerns of him being a one-hit wonder out the window, the Cowboys were smart to lock up Lawrence on 5-year, $105M deal. DEFENSIVE END #2: Ryan Kerrigan (Washington)Let’s say I can guarantee you more than 8 sacks year in, year out? Would that pique your interest? In the last seven of eight years Kerrigan hasn’t dipped below that number. He also has double-digit sacks three years running (11.0 > 13.0 > 13.0). That type of steady production and durability (hasn’t missed a game in 8 years), give Kerrigan the nod here.Brandon Graham is certainly in the conversation. He ranked 2nd in the NFC East for pressures in 2018 (77) despite still recovering from ankle surgery for a better portion of the season. At the end of the day though, pressures are great and more stable than sacks (unless you’re Kerrigan) Cheap Andre Dillard Jersey , but sacks end drives 83% of the time.LINEBACKER #1: Leighton Vander Esch (Cowboys)LINEBACKER #2: Jaylon Smith (Cowboys)I’m grouping these two together because they’re the best linebacker tandem in the league. Perhaps Bobby Wagner and KJ Wright of the Seattle Seahawks might have something to say about that, but for my money it’s the Cowboys’ duo.Smith is one of the better stories you’ll come across and had a dynamic 2018 campaign after years of doubt concerning his viability. He’s a hard-nosed snot-rocker with sideline-to-sideline range that looks the be the Jaylon many (including myself) fawned over at Notre Dame.Vander Esch has already cemented himself as one of the best linebackers in the league after an eye-opening rookie year. With 36 stops he ranked 1st in the East for PFF’s run stop metric (10.6%) and was a valuable piece in coverage due to his bonkers athleticism. There’s still room for improvement for the 23-year old Vander Esch, who didn’t start playing ball until well into his teens.CORNERBACK #1: Byron Jones (Cowboys)Zero interceptions in 2018 gives me pause, but only briefly, because Jones is head-and-shoulders above the rest of this group. The question for Jones will be his recovery from a hip injury that required surgery in the off-season. The injury bugged him throughout last year, but only slightly slowed down the top-flight corner.CORNERBACK #2: Janoris Jenkins? (Giants)This was a tough one. Washington’s Josh Norman has been overrated for a good while now, Ronald Darby is coming off an ACL tear that could stunt his development, and after that... who is there? Any other name is a serious projection, which I guess by default gives Jenkins the nod. That’s even after a year where he was credited with giving up 7 touchdowns in coverage (Normal gave up 8). Regardless Andre Dillard Jersey 2019 , I’ll take his ball skills over the rest of the back, even if his gambling gets him toasted every now and then.NICKEL CORNERBACK: Avonte Maddox (Eagles)SAFETY #1: Malcolm Jenkins (Eagles)SAFETY #2: Landon Collins (Washington)This is the part where I explain how this secondary is going to work on a philosophical level. The lack of a standout at nickel caused this explanation, so here’s the thinking...With no clear free safety to select, especially considering Rodney McLeod’s cloudy future, we had to get creative. Solak made the argument that he’d plug in Jenkins and Collins at safety and then throw in another piece to spice it up.That versatile defensive back is, of course, Avonte Maddox. All three of those players tallied over 100 snaps each at free safety last year, for a total of 483 snaps. Essentially, it’s a free safety-by-committee approach. Against heavier offensive sets Black Seth Joyner Jerseys , Jenkins and Collins would drop down with Maddox rotating high. Against more spread out wide receiver heavy sets, Maddox would play nickel with Collins and Jenkins taking either deep or box responsibilities depending on the matchup. Is it a cop out? Probably. But if you got a better idea how to match the East safeties together, we’d love to know what that looks like.Overall the Eagles led the pack with eight selections and the Cowboys were a close second with seven. In the bottom half, the Giants check in with four while Washington comes in last with only three selections (all on defense). We discuss these players and position battles more in-depth on The Kist & Solak Show #102! It was coming easy to me, the feeling of the game, and then, boom, the regular season starts and everything changes a little bit.”Chark hopes to get another chance to prove his worth when the Jaguars (2-1) host the New York Jets (1-2) on Sunday.More Jacksonville Jaguars newsJaguars expect DE Yannick Ngakoue’s holdout to be short-livedJaguars rookie safety Zedrick Woods submits retirement paperworkJalen Ramsey says Jaguars don’t plan to give him contract extension this seasonJaguars sign former UCF running back Taj McGowan for added depthJaguars QB Nick Foles to miss OTAs for undisclosed ‘personal reason’Coach Doug Marrone said the plan is to “go right back to him” against the Jets, believing the best way to help Chark get over his mistakes is to put him in position to make positive plays.“It has always been my philosophy (that) if someone dropped a football Telvin Smith Jersey , we were trying to go to him the next play,” Marrone said. “Really trying to do that, and then during the week asking that player to do all the extra to make sure that in his mind he is doing the proper work to get himself over it. I think it is a combination of those two things.”The Jaguars drafted the 6-foot-4 Chark with the hope that he would develop into a big-time playmaker alongside Marqise Lee, Keelan Cole and Dede Westbrook. With Lee out for the season, Chark went from a guy expected to sit back and learn to someone thrust into a reserve role — and on the field in key situations. He’s failed to make much of an impact so far, aside from recovering Westbrook’s fumble in the first series against New England. The Jaguars scored five plays later. He’s done little since. His fumble at the end of a 13-yard reception in the third quarter against the Patriots proved to be meaningless in the 31-20 victory. But it briefly gave New England a glimmer of hope in a 24-3 game. Tom Brady hooked up with Chris Hogan for a touchdown on the ensuing drive to make it 24-10, but the Jaguars later answered to seal the win.Chark wasn’t as fortunate against the Titans. He dropped a perfectly thrown pass on a second-and-10 play in the second quarter. Instead of a first down in the red zone, the Jaguars ended up kicking a field goal and tying the game at 3.Chark was clearly disappointed, sitting at his locker after the game with his head down.“The learning curve is over with at this point,” Chark said. “It’s time to play. But at the end of the day, I just had to take some time to reflect.“I know the type of player that I am. The game isn’t hard. I just can’t overthink it. I have to do what I do best, make plays, feel comfortable and when I get out there on game day and do what I do in practice.”Chark caught 66 passes for 1,351 yards and six touchdowns in three seasons at LSU. He was the co-MVP at the Senior Bowl and a receiver the Jaguars fell in love with because of his size and speed. He stood out during organized team activities and in training camp, occasionally beating a talented secondary for touchdowns. The Jaguars are confident that will happen in games, maybe even this week.“I know he’s upset and that speaks to his character and the kind of guy and football player that he is and how good he wants to be and how good he can be,” quarterback Blake Bortles said. “I’ve got all the confidence in the world in him and I’m not going to shy away from throwing him the ball because he dropped one.” Jaguars wide receiver Marqise Lee tore his ACL in late August last year and it looks like his timeline for a return to full speed is about a full year. That was the word from Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone when he was asked about Lee’s recovery at the league meetings in Arizona this week.“He wants to get back, but I think right now we’re talking about steps,” Marrone said Womens Ronnie Harrison Jersey , via Jacksonville.com. “The first thing we want to do is make sure we can get him back on the field. We know it’s something that’s going to be late in the preseason that type of situation, maybe going 100 percent, full speed. Every time I talk to him, he’s feeling better, has a smile on his face and he’s dying to get back. Marquis has been training out of California and he comes in for check ups.”Donte Moncrief left for Pittsburgh as a free agent, which leaves Dede Westbrook and Keelan Cole as the top returning receivers from last season. The Jaguars signed Chris Conley to round out a group that also includes 2018 second-round pick D.J. Chark.

North-clinching win over the Packers last weekend and was out of practice all week as a result. That didn’t create much hope that he’d be in the lineup this weekend and the team has listed him as doubtful to play this weekend. While the injury news about Jackson isn’t great, there was a positive development for guard Kyle Long. Long practiced for the first time since going on injured reserve with a foot injury in early November. That sets Long up to be activated in time for the postseason if all goes well.Linebacker Aaron Lynch is also listed as doubtful for Sunday due to an elbow injury. Defensive tackle Bilal Nichols‘ knee injury led to a questionable tag.

At that time White Nasir Adderley Jersey , we will all be rushing to figure out which undrafted free agent signed with which teams..."Just about one week from now we will be almost finished with day three of the 2019 NFL Draft. At that time, we will all be rushing to figure out which undrafted free agent signed with which teams and which prospects with draftable grades somehow found themselves without a phone call across all three days of the event.Today, we tackle the first round on day three, which just so happens to be the sweet spot for Tom Telesco over the last several drafts.Without further ado, let’s get to it.CB Jamel Dean - AuburnIf you’re my good friend Kyle Posey, you absolutely love Dean and believe he is arguably the best corner in this entire draft, even over consensus top guys like LSU’s Greedy Williams and Deandre Baker of Georgia. But most don’t actually know a ton about Dean and it’s not terribly surprising since people don’t hold a lot of weight in players with lengthy injury histories. The 6-foot-2, 208-pound corner was actually set to play at Ohio State coming out of high-school until he was “medically disqualified” from playing football due to a string of knee injuries he suffered over his prep career. After transferring to Auburn, he was met with another setback. Early in fall camp, Dean suffered another knee injury that took his entire 2016 season away from him. But, not all hope was lost in the young defender. After another offseason of rehab, Dean came back stronger than ever, starting 11 of 14 games in 2017 and collecting 43 tackles, eight passes defended, and 2.5 tackles-for-loss.In 2018, finally coming off a year without injury, Dean started 11 of 12 games. He finished his final year with 30 stops, two tackles-for-loss, a sack, two interceptions and nine passes defended.Even after the extensive list of knee injuries, Dean absolutely blew up his athletic testing in Indianapolis. His 4.31 forty was among the top marks for all participants while his 41-inch vertical and 10’10” broad jump were also elite. His 9.95 RAS (relative athletic score) is one of the best all time for a cornerback Nasir Adderley Los Angeles Chargers Jerseys , up there with guys like Darelle Revis and Marshon Lattimore. There is a chance that Dean is off the board sooner than the fourth, but if no one gets too wise, I like him to fall. Just consider Maurice Hurst last year and how much he fell.S Marquise Blair - UtahThe 6-foot-2, 195-pound Blair came to the University of Utah following a productive two years in junior college at Dodge City CC. He was a First Team NJCAA All-American after posting 100 tackles, three sacks, and four interceptions. In his two years with the Utes, Blair finished with 106 total tackles, 5 tackles-for-loss, two interceptions, four passes defended, and a fumble recovery for a touchdown. In all, he started 18 of his 23 career games, being named a second team All-Pac 12 performer following his 2018 performance.Blair also posted an “elite” RAS (over 8.0) with an solid 4.48 forty and a 35-inch vertical. Although he is listed under 200 pounds, Blair doesn’t like to play that way as you can see below. In fact, I believe NFL Analyst Lance Zierlein said it best in Blair’s draft profile:However, like most defenders with an aggressive play-style, Blair can get himself into trouble with targeting penalties and just flat out over-committing. He does have the experience to play all over the secondary, having played a fair share of two-high and single-high in the Utes defense. It should be noted that Blair was also a participant in this year’s Senior Bowl. In fact he’s the first of three guys on this list who are able to check that box. LB Te’Von Coney - Notre DameConey is probably one of the biggest movers in this year’s linebacker group, and not always in the right direction. Around the senior bowl, Coney was the one getting the most praise between him and his teammate Drue Tranquill who also attended the showcase in Mobile. With excellent size (6-1, 240) Los Angeles Chargers Jerseys Stitched , Coney fit the bill of a field general in the middle of a defense. Especially coming off back-to-back seasons with 115+ tackles. But now, you don’t hear a ton about Coney and I think that’s a bit unfair. I mean, this is a guy who learned from Jaylon Smith early in his career and had himself a very productive career for one of the best teams of this decade. In his first three years in South Bend, Coney played outside linebacker. In 2017, his last on the outside, he racked up 116 tackles, 11.5 tackles-for-loss, and three sacks. After moving to middle linebacker, he continued that steady production with 123 total stops, 9.5 tackles-for-loss, four sacks, and an interception that helped the Irish seal a late victory against Stanford.Below is my interview with him at the Senior Bowl:Coney told me he that he prefers to play middle linebacker where he is able to run the defense and make all the calls. I think that leadership trait is huge and something any coach would want to work with. Stick him behind Denzel Perryman and watch him prosper.DT Kingsley Keke - Texas A&MKeke was unfortunately the victim of far too many people switching up his first and last name throughout the draft process. Because, let’s be honest, Keke Kingsley rolls off the tongue just a little bit better, I’d say.I’ve talked a lot about Daylon Mack, Keke’s teammate, on here quite a bit over the last two months, but it’s time to look at the guy who actually was the most productive player along that interior over the last several years.Keke offers ideal size for the position at 6-foot-3 and 305 pounds. His quickness and get-off at the line are tremendous for someone his size which makes it easy to see him fit right into that Corey Liuget role. After only posting 10 tackles-for-loss and five sacks in his first three seasons, Keke took things up a notch as a senior by posting 11 tackles-for-loss and 7.5 sacks, both good for second on the team.Another Senior Bowl invitee, Keke really fits the mold of what the Chargers want in a prospect from an experience and fit point-of-view. If he falls down the board due to the rash of elite defensive linemen at the top Youth Nasir Adderley Jersey , Keke could be one of the biggest steals of the weekend and another gem to add to the list of Tom Telesco and company. Chargers running back Melvin Gordon wants the team to know he means business about demanding a new contract.Gordon’s agent, Damarius Bilbo, told Tom Pelissero of NFL Network that there is a “strong possibility” Gordon could sit out into the regular season if the Chargers don’t give him the money he wants.“But we want to focus on getting something done before training camp. There’s a long way to go to Week 1,” Bilbo added. If Gordon sits out in the regular season, he loses about $330,000 a week, which is one-seventeenth of his $5.6 million salary. But there’s an even bigger risk than losing $330,000 a week, which is the possibility that Gordon will show, in his absence, that he’s actually not all that important to the Chargers’ offense. Gordon’s backup, Austin Ekeler, has shown himself more than capable of filling the running back role in the Chargers’ offense, and Ekeler is set to make just $645,000 this year. If Gordon sits out Week One and Ekeler has a big game, the Chargers may conclude that there’s no reason to re-do Gordon’s contract when they have a perfectly good replacement working for one-ninth as much money.Last year Gordon missed four games, and the Chargers went 4-0 in those four games. If Gordon thinks he can force the Chargers’ hand by sitting out until they give him a raise, he may find that a month into the season the Chargers are 4-0 and content to go on without him.

Also please follow @BGN_Radio on Twitter. Now the Philadelphia Eagles can go back to being underdogs again. After embracing that role last year and overcoming huge odds to win their first Super Bowl title, the Eagles haven't lived up to expectations as defending champions. They blew a 17-0 lead in the fourth quarter and lost 21-17 to Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers on Sunday."Pressure's off, so we can go play Black Tommy McDonald Jerseys , have fun and just relax," coach Doug Pederson said. "A lot of football ahead, too. Anything's possible, anything can happen."Pressed on the topic, Pederson continued: "I think no one has really given us a chance, anyway. Whether we're putting pressure on ourselves to perform Brian Dawkins Jerseys Stitched , to play, whatever it is, live up to a certain expectation. ... I think sometimes we force issues. We try to press just a little bit."Despite their struggles, the Eagles (3-4) are in the mix in the NFC East. They'll quickly try to forget about their disappointing loss and focus on a trip to London to face the equally struggling Jacksonville Jaguars (3-4)."We put high expectations on ourselves every week," Carson Wentz said. "My approach will never change, win or lose Tommy McDonald Jerseys 2019 , on to the next week and that's the way I'm approaching it."For Newton and the Panthers, this was a statement game. The Panthers (4-2) were dominated for the first three quarters but rallied for an impressive win on the road in a hostile environment. It was the biggest comeback in franchise history."This is a confidence-booster for us," Newton said.Newton tossed a 1-yard touchdown pass to Greg Olsen with 1:22 left and Julius Peppers sacked Wentz, forcing a fumble on fourth down from the Panthers 14 to seal the victory. After Carolina took the lead, the Eagles started at their 30. A 48-yard pass interference penalty on James Bradberry against Alshon Jeffery put the ball at the Carolina 22. Eric Reid appeared to intercept Wentz's overthrown pass but the play was overturned on a video review. Wentz threw incomplete to Jeffery in the end zone on third-and-2 and was stripped on the next play. Some things we learned from Carolina's comeback victory over the Eagles:TROUBLE FINISHINGThe Eagles wasted a 17-3 lead in the third quarter of an overtime loss at Tennessee in Week 4. They're having trouble closing out games and beating teams they're supposed to beat."It's one play here, one play there that turns into big deals Black Brian Dawkins Jerseys ," Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins said. "Margin of error in this league is tight, especially against a good team."RESILIENT CAMNewton wasn't happy with his performance at the end of a 23-17 loss at Washington last week and vowed to he'd make the best of another opportunity. He threw three straight incomplete passes on the go-ahead touchdown drive, but took a hit on fourth down and still completed a 35-yard catch-and-run pass to Torrey Smith to reach the Philadelphia 34. A 22-yard pass to McCaffrey gave Carolina first down at the 4. Newton ran it to the 1, setting up the score to Olsen, wide open in the back of the end zone."There are a lot of people depending on me to put this team in the best situation and to a degree, I think I could have been better last week Youth Haloti Ngata Jerseys ," Newton said. "And this week we were in the same situation and I didn't want to let anyone down."GROUNDED ATTACKThe Eagles got 55 yards rushing on 21 carries from running backs Wendell Smallwood, Josh Adams and Corey Clement. They lost Jay Ajayi to a season-ending knee injury and Darren Sproles has missed the last six games with a hamstring injury. They could try to add a back before the trade deadline on Oct. 30.SHORT MEMORYBradberry bounced back from the penalty on the final drive to help keep the Eagles out of the end zone."In my head, I knew they still had to score," Bradberry said.QUESTIONABLE PLAYCALLINGInstead of working on the clock, Pederson called nine passes and no runs on Philadelphia's two possessions with the lead in the fourth quarter.

The Jaguars have added an experienced running back

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that they have signed Thomas Rawls.Rawls appeared in one game for the Bengals during the 2018 season after signing with them in September. He was with the Jets for training camp and the preseason Womens Justin Blackmon Jersey , but failed to make the team. He spent the first three years of his career with the Seahawks and has run 314 times for 1,336 yards and seven touchdowns over the course of his career.Given his recent history, the Rawls move may not amount to anything significant for the 2019 season. There could be more impactful backfield moves to come in Jacksonville, however. The Jags have moved to strip Leonard Fournette‘s contract of guaranteed money, which would make it easier to move on without him should it hold up after a grievance is heard. Carlos Hyde is signed for two more years, but T.J. Yeldon and Corey Grant are both set for free agency. The Jacksonville Jaguars are most certainly going to move on from veteran defensive tackle Malik Jackson in the offseason, be it via straight up release or via a trade. The writing is on the wall and Jackson himself acknowledges what his situation is.“In my mind, if I’m third or fourth on the depth chart making $14.5 million to $15 million Cam Robinson Jersey , I don’t see too much future for me in Jacksonville,” Jackson told Jon Reid of The Florida Times-Union on Wednesday. “I’m not trying to be a journeyman by any means. But it’s a business and soon as you try to forget that then it’s a rude awakening for sure.”The Jaguars would free up a good chunk of much needed cap space moving on from Jackson after the conclusion of the 2018 season, saving $11 million in cap room if they move on. In reality, Jackson’s massive free agent contract was always setup to be a two-year deal with a series of one-year deals after that in case it didn’t work or the team needed to move on. In this instance, I would frame it as the latter, as Jackson is still a good player but it’s simply just time to move on and save the space. To Jackson’s credit however, even though he likely knows the team will move on from him after this season, he’s still making the most of it and helping out where he can. “You see older guys get pushed out of the league and you don’t understand it but they’re still fighting http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-myles-jack-jersey ,” Jackson told Reid. “For example, Peyton Manning when he got injured in Indy, but he was still teaching his guys and doing what he had to do to be a leader. I kind of learned that from him. I’m still trying to push guys and teach them. Whatever I’m going through doesn’t matter, the team is more important.”Jackson also indicated he knows as a pass rushing defensive tackle with only one sack on the season, the final three games are important for his impending resume to 31 other teams be it via trade market or as a free agent once again.Jackson, 28, was signed as a free agent during the 2016 offseason, receiving a six-year Womens Yannick Ngakoue Jersey , $85.5 million deal with $31.5 million guaranteed at closing. The move was largely praised when it was made, although notably expensive, but Jackson produced and played like he earned the money his first two seasons with the Jaguars, picking up 14.5 sacks in those two seasons as well as making the Pro Bowl. For whatever reason things just fell flat in 2018, much like the rest of the Jaguars team overall and it looks like both the team and Jackson are planning to move on in 2019.

The Bears protected us from any anxiety in this game Womens Dick Butkus Jersey , quickly establishing a dominant lead and never giving it up. but overall they dominated a division rival and suffocated the hope out of their season in the process. All in a Sunday’s work. Good job, Bears.Box ScoreIt’s okay to be excited about Mitch TrubiskyThe Bears offense started the game with four touchdowns on four drives. During that time Mitch Trubisky was 13 for 15 on passing with a passer rating of 158.3. Passer rating isn’t a perfect measure of quarterback performance. Specifically, it doesn’t go over 158.3 when Biscuit should have gotten a 200. Trubisky seem more confident than ever today, and it seemed to work out for him. In the first touchdown drive, Trubisky called audibles at the line on at least three plays, all of which resulted in completed passes. Nagy sometimes a little too cute with the playcallingIt’s true that nobody expects Tarik Cohen to run the ball inside. That’s because it doesn’t usually work out well. It doesn’t help to surprise your opponent by doing something ineffective. There may be some value in forcing defenses to account for that possibility when Cohen is on the field, but I can’t imagine anyone’s doing much adjusting to the threat of a Tarik trucking down Damon Harrison.Honestly William Perry Jersey , I just want to see more of Jordan Howard knocking Lions over. Overall, what Nagy’s doing is working, so I can’t get that mad.Not a good idea to advertise for Empire during this gameNobody is going to want to watch a show about the “Lyon” family after seeing the Lions on the field today.Welcome Back Allen RobinsonThe most relevant AR12 in the NFC North came back in full force after two weeks off, making crucial chunk catches on each of the first two drives before making a beautiful touchdown grab on a low back-hip catch which I’m going to decided was inspired ball-placement by Trubisky and not an underthrow with a lucky outcome.Bryan Witzmann hasn’t looked out of place in two weeks of rotational snapsIt’s certainly refreshing to see the offensive line depth stepping up with Kyle Long out and Eric Kush playing through injury.Roquan Smith continuing to prove his valueSmith is clearly getting more comfortable on an NFL field, and after leading the NFL in tackles week 9, Roquan wrapped his arms around all kinds of kitties and blitzed into the backfield for an early sack. He led the Bears again today with 9,Khalil Mack is back with dat sack attackMack garnered plenty of attention from the Lions and generated plenty of pressure on Stafford, including two sacks. His second sack celebration was a wonderfully playful gymnastic display. Such an easy Bear to love. He didn’t get a turnover touchdown http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-mike-ditka-jersey , but that’s only disappointing if you’re obscenely spoiled. We aren’t that spoiled yet, are we Bears fans? From Kurt Fuller to Bryan CallahanBears defensive backs are making such mind-blowing interceptions, the announcer can’t even remember their names. Callahan had a great day all around, with a sack and two ball-swats in addition to the pick.Prince Amukumara responsible for more turnovers this game than the 2016 and 2017 seasons combinedHe forced the Kerryon Johnson fumble and then caught a deep interception. Sure the interception was a fourth down play and effectively turned Stafford’s errant throw into a near-perfect arm punt. Add 8 tackles to that stat sheet, and it was a good game overall for Prince.Leonard Floyd gets a sack!Leonard Floyd getssack! He’s on a one-game sack-a-game streak and I don’t see it ending any time soon.Cody Parkey picked the right week to miss two extra points andtwo field goalsNever do that again, Cody. Never. The Bears are winners and the Lions are losers. This may not come as a surprise, but it still feels good. At 6 and 3 and on top of the NFC North, the Bears have a real chance to contend for a playoff spot. They will get a chance to prove they’re a legitimate threat when they play the Vikings next week.Until then Womens Richard Dent Jersey , we’ll have to settle for reveling in the spoils of victory. Eagles quarterback Nick Foles was hopeful after Sunday’s win over Washington that his injured ribs wouldn’t stop him from playing against the Bears next weekend, but added he was going for more tests on Monday.A report about Monday’s test results indicated he’d be good to go and head coach Doug Pederson confirmed as much at his press conference a short time later. Pederson said “everything was good” with Foles’ tests and that the quarterback is “feeling good” as the week of preparation for the Bears gets underway.Pederson said he didn’t anticipate a need to change Foles’ practice routine, but that the team would do so if necessary when they get on the field later this week.Pederson was asked about Carson Wentz‘s status and said there was no update, which means Nate Sudfeld should be backing up Foles again in Chicago.

Although the Chargers have lost their way a bit in recent years, the month of December still holds such incredible promise! This advent calendar is an attempt to hearken back to these days of December joy. Each day will bring a new advent from the Bolts’ history that makes it wonderful to be a Chargers fan.Dec. 02: A History of Chargers Vs. SteelersThe Pittsburgh Steelers lead the Chargers in the all-time series 22-7, but the Chargers hold the edge in playoff head-to-head matchups 2-1 including the 1994 AFC Conference Championship Game. That game, of course, is the high point in franchise history for the Chargers. If you have two hours to kill, I highly recommend watching it again. It’s still enjoyable 23 years later.Aside from that all-time classic, the two franchises have been linked by the 2004 NFL Draft quarterback class which landed the Chargers Philip Rivers and the Steelers Ben Roethlisberger. The two quarterbacks have squared off five times Corey Liuget Jerseys 2019 , with Big Ben taking their only playoff matchup and their four regular season games being split. The Chargers’ first played the Steelers in 1973 and last played them in 2015, so today’s Sunday Night Football matchup in Pittsburgh will be the first time the Los Angeles Chargers will face the Steelers. Following today’s slate of NFL games, the Los Angeles Chargers will travel as the 5 seed to take on the 4 seed Baltimore Ravens on Wild Card weekend in the first round of the NFL playoffs. Now, thanks to Jeff Zrebiec via Twitter, we know what date and time:The Chargers will be the morning game as they face the Ravens in a rematch of week 16’s ugly home loss. This game will be different in a number of ways. For one, this is a playoff game for both teams whereas last week’s game had a great deal more meaning for the visiting Ravens. For another, the Chargers will be traveling across the country for a kickoff that takes place at 10:05 a.m. PT. For yet another, the Chargers have now faced the Ravens’ unusual offense and will hopefully have had time to come up with a better plan of attack. The Ravens are the third team the Chargers will face a second time after losing the first matchup. The Chargers are 2-0 in those rematches thus far this season.

Running back Josh Adams‘ bid for a role with the

Eagles this year is reportedly on hold for the time being.Mike Kaye of NJ.com reports that Adams had shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum after the team was eliminated from the playoffs and that he will not be taking part in the early stages of the team’s offseason program as a result. That program began on Monday.Adams signed with the Eagles after going undrafted last year and was promoted from the practice squad after Darren Sproles was injured early in the season. He went on to lead the team with 511 rushing yards and scored three touchdowns Youth Chuck Bednarik Jerseys , but saw his playing time drop late in the year and only got one carry over two playoff games. The Eagles recently traded for Jordan Howard and have Corey Clement, Wendell Smallwood, Boston Scott and Donnel Pumphrey on hand as well. The team may also draft a back later this month and there’s been talk about Sproles’ possible return as well. The 2019 NFL Draft will be here before you know it. Mock draft season has already begun and there’s no shortage of opinion as to whom the Philadelphia Eagles might select with the No. 25 overall pick. Let’s take a look at which players the experts have the Eagles taking this week.FanSpeak (Custom) - Josh Jacobs, RB, AlabamaI’ll believe the Eagles will take a running back in the first round when I see it but, hey, this was my simulation and I wanted to have some fun with it. Besides, all the top offensive line and defensive line choices were off the board. Jacobs is the No. 1 back in this year’s class. I like that he’s versatile (third down back skills), young (only turns 21 in two days), relatively fresh (didn’t have a huge workload at Alabama), and just overall talented. One thing that annoys me when people compare Carson Wentz against Jared Goff and Dak Prescott is that it never gets mentioned how those quarterbacks have fantastic running back talents. It’d be nice to give Wentz a really good back to work with for once. SB Nation (Dan Kadar) - Andre Dillard, OT, Washington StateLeft tackle Jason Peters has struggled the past two seasons with injuries, and he could decide to retire this offseason. Even if he doesn’t, the time is now for the Eagles to find his successor. Dillard is an athletic blocker on the left side, and knows how to handle speed rushers.ESPN (Todd McShay) - Dexter Lawrence, DT, ClemsonIt’s no secret that the Eagles want a cornerback, but this is some really, really good value. Put Lawrence next to Fletcher Cox and let those two plug the middle of a line that was in the bottom third in rush defense this season. The Draft Network (Joe Marino) - Nasir Adderley, S, DelawareThere are a number of short and long-term concerns for the Eagles secondary on a defense that gave up the most passing yards in the NFC last season. A versatile defender with dynamic playmaking upside, Adderley would be a welcomed addition. Adderley’s range, ball skills, coverage awareness, processing skills, physicality and tackling ability are all plus traits and he checks a lot of boxes. Adderley was an absolute joy to study on film and is a first-round safety all day long, assuming he tests where I believe he will.Rotoworld (Thor Nystrom) - Marquise Brown, WR, OklahomaThis might not be a rational Chuck Bednarik Jerseys Stitched , pick. But give me this one. I want the DeSean Jackson clone in green, grey and white.NFL.com (Chad Reuter) - Dexter Lawrence, DT, ClemsonIf Haloti Ngata, who’s due to become a free agent, doesn’t return, Lawrence would be a good replacement.CBS Sports (Chris Trapasso) - D.K. Metcalf, WR, Ole Miss[Eagles trade down from No. 25 to No. 29] — Somewhat of a fall for Metcalf, but the neck injury and his lack of ability to run a full route tree are the reasons. The Eagles could be interested in more receiving weapons for Carson Wentz. Philadelphia gets Kansas City’s third in this deal.CBS Sports (Ryan White) - Gerald Willis III, DT, MiamiWillis didn’t attend the Senior Bowl but he remains of the best defensive tackles in a ridiculously deep class of them. His ability to wreak havoc in the backfield will upgrade an Eagles’ unit that ranked 26th in pressuring the quarterback.CBS Sports (Will Brinson) - Devin Bush, LB, MichiganThe Eagles are going to have an interesting offseason, with a lot of players no longer under contract. If they land Leonard Fournette via trade they can focus on adding a defensive player.Pro Football Focus (Mike Renner) - Jaylon Ferguson, DE, Louisiana TechThe Eagles add an explosive bull-rusher to supplant the league’s preeminent bull-rusher in Brandon Graham. Philly can’t let their calling card defensively start to crumble. The Athletic (Dane Brugler) - Dexter Lawrence, DT, Clemson With Haloti Ngata scheduled to be a free agent and Timmy Jernigan’s future up in the air, upgrading the interior of the defensive line is a possibility here. Lawrence is a rare mover for his size with the skills to be an above average run defender and developing pass rusher.Bleacher Report (Matt Miller) - Byron Murphy, CB, WashingtonThe Philadelphia Eagles have a solid secondary but could use help at the cornerback position, especially in the slot. Washington’s Byron Murphy is feisty, technically smooth and has shown excellent ball skills. So why is he on the board here? Teams could knock him for his lack of bulk on a 5’11” frame. Murphy has been electric the last two seasons at Washington, oftentimes showing up the teammates around him from previous draft classes. The Eagles could quickly fall in love with his playmaking skills and ability to close on the ball with special quickness and physicality.NFL Draft Scout (Rob Rang) - Devin White, LB, LSUAlong with edge rushers and wide receivers, the Eagles face big decisions at linebacker with no less than four at the position set to enter free agency, including standout middle linebacker Jordan Hicks. Rather than pay a premium price to retain him, GM Howie Roseman may opt for a cheaper contract with the versatile and hard-hitting White.Baltimore Sun (Jonas Shaffer) - Josh Jacobs Youth Reggie White Jerseys , RB, AlabamaThe Eagles haven’t drafted a running back in the first round since 1986, and the relative value of players at the position has only diminished in the decades since. But the Eagles seem likely to part ways with free agent Jay Ajayi and possibly Darren Sproles, and there’s not much star power elsewhere. Jacobs wasn’t a starter at Alabama but projects as a potential every-down back in the NFL, with a hard-nosed running style and well-rounded receiving skill set.DraftWire (Luke Easterling) - Josh Jacobs, RB, AlabamaThere are bigger needs elsewhere on both sides of the ball for the Eagles, but that won’t stop them from taking one of the most dynamic playmakers in this draft if he’s still on the board. Jacobs was part of a loaded backfield at Alabama, but has the skills to be a full-time problem for NFL defenses.San Diego Union-Tribune (Eddie Brown) - Josh Jacobs, RB, AlabamaThe Eagles are not the same offense without a consistent run game. Jacobs is the total package with a lot of tread left on his tires — only 300 total touches in three years at Tuscaloosa. Top needs: OL, RB, CB.DraftTek (Broz) - Rashan Gary, DT, MichiganA few newsworthy events pertaining to the Eagles’ defense have materialized since the last CMD a week ago: 1) Safety Rodney McLeod agreed to a restructured contract, freeing up cap space and ensuring stability in the Eagles’ Safety corps, and 2) DE Chris Long, who most assumed was a goner, made remarks indicating he could be back next year. That’s good news, because while the Eagles’ defense was respectable last year (12th in NFL in PPG Allowed, 7th in Rushing YDS Allowed, 8th in league with 44 sacks), they rarely were game-changers. The defense suffered a sadistic amount of year-ending injuries which crippled the unit, but also gave some young guys in the secondary some valuable playing time. The fact that these emergency backups held Drew Brees and the Saints to 20 points in the playoffs proves that some hidden gems have been discovered. Assuming the guys on IR return (Derek Barnett, Jalen Mills, McLeod, etc), the Eagles’ defense could once again become a weapon, providing they can find another good pass rusher. Rashan Gary is one of the most interesting prospects in this draft. Going to Michigan as the unanimous top recruit in his class, he was one of the most heralded D-Line prospects in recent history. While Gary was very good for the Wolverines Reggie White Jerseys Stitched , his on-field production didn’t match the tremendous hype (9 sacks, 23 TFL in college career). Nevertheless, the ability, power, speed and raw tools are obvious. Gary’s name is frequently included in “Top 5 Players” lists, and while I would be leery of taking him that high, he is a steal at #25. The thought here is that NFL coaches will be able to unlock his potential and turn him into a pass-rushing, run-stuffing force that can play up and down a 4-man front in multiple packages. His potential is off the charts.Sporting News (Vinnie Iyer) - Dexter Lawrence, DT, ClemsonThis pick is building plenty of steam because the team’s need and the player’s skill set have started to line up so well. The Eagles could use a space-eater to flank Fletcher Cox and Lawrence is a textbook inside run-stuffer with ideal size (6-4, 351 pounds).USA Today (Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz) - Dexter Lawrence, DT, ClemsonFor all of the hand-wringing over Philadelphia’s secondary, the once-dominant defensive line didn’t create the same kind of havoc it did in the 2017 Super Bowl campaign. At 6-4 and 340 pounds, the massive Lawrence can help dissuade opponents from double-teaming Fletcher Cox regularly while he plugs the middle.Draft Countdown (Scott Wright) - Mack Wilson, LB, AlabamaIt was a nightmare season for the Eagles pass defense, which ranked 30th in the league. Philly could easily go with a cornerback or safety, although they do have some key pieces returning from injury to bolster the secondary. There is arguably even more uncertainty at linebacker, especially in the middle where the injury-prone Jordan Hicks is a free agent. The Crimson Tide always seem to have a stud inside ‘backer to anchor their defense. When Reggie Ragland went to the NFL they plugged in Reuben Foster. When Foster left it was Rashaan Evans’ turn. This year it was Mack Wilson, who very much fits within the parameters of that explosive, physical, aggressive, hard-hitting profile. The athletic Wilson is more than just a two-down run thumper though, displaying sideline to sideline range as well as the ability to excel in coverage.SUMMARYDT Dexter Lawrence - 5RB Josh Jacobs - 4LB Devin Bush - 1LB Devin White - 1LB Mack Wilson - 1DT Rashan Gary - 1DT Gerald Willis III - 1WR Marquise Brown - 1WR D.K. Metcalf - 1DE Jaylon Ferguson - 1OT Andre Dillard - 1S Nasir Adderley - 1CB Byron Murphy - 1DT - 7RB - 4LB - 3WR - 2DE - 1 OT - 1S - 1CB - 1Offense - 7Defense - 13THOUGHTSExperts are all over the place when it comes to the Eagles’ pick. Out of 20 mock drafts, only two players showed up more than once.I just don’t think the Eagles are taking Lawrence — a run-stuffing defensive tackle — at No. 25 overall.I’d be surprised if the Eagles took Jacobs in the first round. But wouldn’t it be nice to, you know, actually feel excited about the running back position for once? It feels like it’s been way too long.I don’t see a first round linebacker happening.Who is your favorite for No. 25?
