NFL cuts 2018: Detroit Lions roster updates Kerryon Johnson Jersey , practice squad tracker, waiver claims and rumors “You know this isn’t the Detroit Lions’ final 53-man roster, right?”Yes, annoying friend, we all know that by now, but thanks for pointing it out. That’s right Frank Ragnow Jersey , the Lions may have established their initial 53-man roster on Saturday afternoon, but Sunday will feature a slew of transactions, too. First, all of the players waived over the past two days will become available at noon ET on Sunday. As we speak, teams are scouring the transaction list and putting in claims for players they think may improve their current 53. The Detroit Lions currently are 20th on the waiver priority list, meaning 19 teams are going to have to pass on any of the waived players before Detroit gets their shot. We should hear about any of these sort of additions—or if any of the Lions’ waived player get claimed—right after that noon deadline. After that’s done Marvin Jones Jersey , teams will get to building their practice squads. Starting at 1 p.m. ET, all 32 franchises are permitted to add any practice squad eligible players that didn’t get claimed to their 10-man squad for 2018.

CINCINNATI (AP) — Drew Brees and the Saints rocked Paul Brown Stadium from the opening drive Jessie Bates Jersey , scoring every time they got the ball except for the last one. Then they cranked up the music in the locker room until the cinderblock walls were vibrating, too.For New Orleans, it was as much fun as it gets in the NFL.Brees threw three touchdown passes in a blistering first half, moving ahead of Brett Favre for second place on the career list, and New Orleans rolled to its eighth straight victory Sunday, 51-14 over the Cincinnati Bengals. Then they blasted the music.“It’s a good time,” said Brees, who was 22 of 25 for 265 yards and a near-perfect passer rating of 150.4. “We know how to have fun when it’s time to have fun.”Brees led the Saints to touchdowns on all five first-half possessions with a nearly perfect performance — only two incompletions. His 17-yard TD to Michael Thomas with 2 seconds left in the half gave him 509 career touchdown passes, one more than Favre.Up next: Peyton Manning’s record 539.“If you play long enough, I guess those things happen,” Brees said. “I consider myself very grateful, very blessed.“Just take ’em one at a time Sam Hubbard Jersey , keep plugging along, and hopefully there’s more to go”Brees had his way with the Bengals’ historically bad defense , even diving over the pile to score a 1-yard touchdown. Cincinnati (5-4) became the first team in the Super Bowl era to give up 500 yards in three consecutive games; New Orleans finished with 509.The Bengals matched the most lopsided defeat in franchise history and gave up the second-most points in club history. In the first half alone, the Saints piled up 311 yards and had 21 first downs on 40 plays. Brees was 18 of 20 for 214 yards with three touchdowns in the opening half.“I’m kind of in shock after a loss like that,” linebacker Jordan Evans said.In the last four games, the Bengals have given up 481, 551, 576 and 509 yards. They’re on pace to give up the most yards in NFL history.“Obviously, your confidence gets shaken,” coach Marvin Lewis said. “I just addressed that with them. They have to focus and get determined. It’s their job to do it right.”Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara recognized Dez Bryant by crossing their arms after scoring touchdowns. The former Cowboys receiver signed with the Saints on Wednesday but tore an Achilles tendon in his second practice.“Two days is not a lot of time, and yet there’s a lot of respect,” coach Sean Payton said. The Saints sent the Rams to their first loss last week Malik Jefferson Jersey , 45-35, and kept the momentum with their highest-scoring game of the season. Ingram had 13 rushes for 104 yards, and Kamara scored twice as New Orleans picked up 244 yards on the ground.“Look, this was a good game, but it wasn’t a perfect game,” Payton said.Pretty close. The only time New Orleans failed to score was when it took a knee at the Bengals 31-yard line to end matters. What’s it like playing in an offense like that?“It’s heaven,” Kamara said.Another encouraging sign for the Saints: Their struggling defense held in check a Bengals offense missing A.J. Green, out indefinitely with an injured toe on his right foot. Andy Dalton went 12 of 20 for 153 yards with two interceptions, including one that Marcus Williams returned 78 yards to set up Brees’ third touchdown throw.“We all had a hand in it,” Dalton said.BAD HISTORYIt’s the fourth time the Bengals have lost a game by 37 points in their history. The club record for points allowed was 52 against Carolina in 2002. The 28 points allowed in the second quarter matched the club record.RED-ZONEDNew Orleans had allowed touchdowns on 20 of opponents’ 28 drives inside the 20-yard line, which ranked 28th out of 32 teams in red zone efficiency. The Bengals managed to get inside the 20-yard line only once, on their opening touchdown drive.LOCKED INBrees has an 89 percent completion percentage when targeting Michael Thomas this season. Thomas finished with eight catches for 70 yards and two touchdowns Mark Walton Jersey , including a diving 7-yard catch in the end zone.PRODUCTIVE THOMASThomas has 274 catches in 40 career games, surpassing Odell Beckham Jr., who held the mark for most receptions in NFL history through 40 outings.INJURIESSaints: LT Terron Armstead suffered a shoulder injury in the second quarter.Bengals: CB Dre Kirkpatrick suffered a concussion in the second quarter and didn’t return.UP NEXTSaints: host the Eagles next Sunday.Bengals: play at Baltimore next Sunday. The beat the Ravens earlier this year. The Bengals reached a big scoring milestone against the Ravens The Bengals are 2-0 after a 34-23 win over the Ravens on Thursday Night Football. If that score looks familiar, it’s because that was the same margin Cincinnati defeated the Colts by last week. It’s also the first time an NFL team has scored at least 34 points in each of their first two games since the 2013 Broncos. In case you forgot, the 2013 Broncos made it to the Super Bowl. It’s hard for an NFL team to be sharp enough to score that many points in each of their first two games. They’re still getting chemistry down and back in true football shape after not playing a four-quarter game for almost a year. So for the Bengals to do enough to reach that feat is pretty impressive, even if it is against Colts and Ravens teams that seem to be in the bottom half of NFL teams. If nothing else, we should feel even more confident about the Bengals getting back to the playoffs. They’re certainly in good shape for that, but there’s still plenty of season left.

NFL Week 3: Bengals vs. Panthers The Cincinnati Bengals are Carolina Panthers are set to kick off in a key interconference for both squads. A win today for the Bengals keeps them all alone atop the AFC North Andy Dalton Jersey , while a Panthers win could tie them for the division lead in the NFC South. But really, the records are what matter. A win and a 3-0 start for the Bengals further increases their odds of making it to the playoffs for the first time since the 2015 season, while a Carolina loss would drop them to 1-2, a tough start to come back from and make the postseason. It’s early in the season, but this game could pay huge dividends when December rolls around, not to mention keep the Bengals’ positive momentum going after disastrous 2016 and ‘17 season. Here’s a refresher on how to watch and follow today’s action:How to Watch Carolina Panthers vs. Cincinnati BengalsGame Time: 1:00 p.m. EST Where: Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina Online Stream: CBS All Access and Fubo TVTV Broadcast: The game will air on CBS. In the Bengals’ home region, it will be carried by WKRC-TV (Ch. 12) in Cincinnati, WHIO-TV (Ch. 7) in Dayton and on WKYT-TV (Ch. 27) in Lexington. Announcers: Kevin Harlan, Rich Gannon and Steve Tasker will be on the call for CBS.Radio Broadcast: The game will air on the Bengals Radio Network with Dan Hoard and Dave Lapham calling the action in Carolina. Now, let’s talk Bengals football.Who Dey! Terrell Owens always likes being the center of attention. His decision to skip the induction ceremony for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in August will keep him far from the spotlight.Owens was voted into the hall in February after being denied in his first two years of eligibility. His announcement Thursday is unprecedented by an enshrinee.”Hopefully, the story this summer will remain about those that will be there instead of the one that will not,” said Howard Balzer of SiriusXM Radio, a 15-year voter for the Hall of Fame.In a statement released Thursday by his publicist, Owens said: ”While I am incredibly appreciative of this opportunity, I have made the decision to publicly decline my invitation to attend the induction ceremony in Canton.”After visiting Canton earlier this year, I came to the realization that I wish to celebrate what will be one of the most memorable days of my life, elsewhere,” Owens added. ”At a later date, I will announce where and when I will celebrate my induction.”The hall confirmed that the former All-Pro receiver informed them he would not be on hand Aug. 4 for the enshrinements.”We are disappointed but will respect Terrell’s decision not to participate in the enshrinement,” Hall of Fame President & CEO David Baker said.”While unprecedented, the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the nearly 5,000 volunteers and the entire community are committed to celebrating the excellence of the Class of 2018 that will kick off the NFL’s 99th season.”As we do not want to detract from this great honor being enjoyed by the seven other members of the class of 2018 – Bobby Beathard, Robert Brazile, Brian Dawkins, Jerry Kramer, Ray Lewis, Randy Moss and Brian Urlacher – their family Geno Atkins Jersey , friends, and fans, the Pro Football Hall of Fame will have no further comment on the decision made by Terrell Owens.”Owens entered the league as a third-round pick by San Francisco in 1996 and developed into a star known for some memorable playoff appearances, including his winning 25-yard TD catch to beat Green Bay in 1999; his 177 yards in a comeback win against the Giants in 2003; and his nine catches for 122 yards in the 2004 Super Bowl against New England just seven weeks after breaking his leg.He ranks second to Jerry Rice with 15,934 yards receiving and is third on the all-time touchdowns receiving list with 153.Owens heavily criticized the voting process when he failed to be elected in 2016 and 2017. Among the reasons he fell short were his being considered a divisive teammate and negative presence in the locker room.Still, he received strong consideration for the hall before getting in last February, along with Moss, another standout receiver.”I think T.O. actually was disappointed when he got in this year,” said Paul Domowitch of the Philadelphia Daily News, who presented Owens’ case for induction and has been on the selection committee for 16 years. ”I think he was happier when he got snubbed and could play the part of the persecuted victim and moan on every radio talk show that was willing to bring him on about the unfairness of the process.”Maybe he was worried that he would become forgotten after the induction ceremony. This way, he gets his gold jacket, but still will be remembered as the guy who told the hall to go stuff it.”Another Owens supporter in the hall voting, Jarrett Bell of USA Today, has been on the selection committee for 21 years and was ”at a loss to understand” why Owens would decline to attend the inductions. But Bell, like Baker, stressed Owens’ absence would not affect the ceremony much.”Think of the other members of the class of 2018,” Bell said. ”They deserve their upcoming honor and the celebration. There’s no stain on them because someone doesn’t want to show up.”Think of the players who gave their all to the sport, including many worthy of Hall of Fame consideration, who will never be enshrined. Think of the family members of former players, coaches and officials – many of whom have passed away – pushing for their loved ones to receive special recognition for career accomplishments. Then think of Terrell Owens. In that order.”As perhaps an indicator he might skip the August ceremony, Owens didn’t attend the announcement that he’d been selected to the hall.”All these years Owens wanted to go to the hall and was quite vocal about it,” said Rick Gosselin, a hall voter for 23 years. ”Now he doesn’t want to go to the hall? It’s kind of puzzling. … I wonder what all of his new teammates wearing those gold jackets think.”Owens did thank the 49ers, Eagles, Cowboys, Bills and Bengals in his statement and called becoming a Hall of Famer ”an honor to be part of such elite company. This honor is something that I will cherish forever.”He just won’t be on hand to see his bust unveiled in August.”But don’t think of even considering it a sad day for the Hall of Fame,” Bell said. ”The hall will always be bigger than one person.”—
