The malicious turf monster snatched the innocent Cheap Kyzir White Jersey , pure rookie on the very first day of pads in training camp. With Lamp sidelined and my tear ducts ran dry, Feeney became the sixth-man along the offensive line and found himself on the field much sooner than anyone anticipated. During the second-half of the Chargers first victory at the StubHub Center against the Denver Broncos, starting left guard Matt Slauson went down with a torn bicep and was lost for the remainder of the year.“Dan’s been growing like a weed, and he’s ready.”These were the words head coach Anthony Lynn had as he announced Feeney as the starter moving forward. And by golly, the rookie was.Feeney went on to start the final nine games of the regular season, playing an integral part in the Chargers finishing the year on a 9-3 stretch after a horrendous 0-4 start through the first month of play.Coming out of Indiana University as a two-time All-American who played significant time as a true freshman, the team knew they were getting a steal in the third round when #66 was still on the board. One of the biggest reasons to love Feeney is that he encompasses that midwestern, blue-collar work ethic that can help separate the good offensive linemen from the great. There are so many offensive line linemen that get drafted higher than they should based on the fact that draft analysts believe they have a “huge upside.”The fact remains that there are plenty of other traits and characteristics to look for in an offensive line prospect that that have a higher success rate of transitioning to the next level. Many people covet elite length, athleticism, and “basketball feet”. These don’t nearly coincide with NFL success as much as fundamentals, mental processing, and overall consistent effort. Feeney gives you all of the latter, but not so much of the former. This is likely why he wasn’t touted higher as a prospect. This is another play that exemplifies the extra effort Feeney puts into his game. From the snap, Feeney gives a quick jab to this outside shade before releasing to the second level in order to cut off the backside linebacker. Benefiting from #52’s hesitation, Feeney easily crosses his face and keeps the hole wide open for Gordon to scoot through. Even after completing his duty on the play, he finishes his man for good measure. If there is one strong correlation between great offensive linemen, it’s the willingness to go that extra mile in order to demoralize your opponent play after play throughout the entire game. At this point, it looks like Feeney is in possession of this coveted trait. The elevated confidence in Feeney became noticeable as the season winded down. Less mistakes were made, his movements seemed more fluid and lacked any hesitancy. However, he was still a rookie and some of the mistakes he was expected to make did http://www.chargerscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-virgil-green-jersey , in fact, happen. Above is a clip from the second meeting between the Bolts and the Chiefs. On this play, the offensive line had a slide-right protection, meaning that Feeney and the rest of the line was responsible for the gaps to their right. Simple enough, yes? There was some breakdowns in Feeney’s fundamentals that led to some interior pressure that is a big no-no when it come to protecting Rivers, a quarterback with almost no mobility to his name. With a 1-technique shaded on the center to Feeney’s side, he’s got to know that he must get himself fully in front of the defender, matching his midline with the opponent’s. When he shoots his hands, they land outside the defender’s chest which gives the defensive linemen the the win in the battle for leverage. Feeney can no longer fight to get back in front of him and he allows the penetration right up the middle.By the fourth quarter of this game, things got to the point where Feeney was the best offensive linemen on the field for the Chargers as injuries kept piling up. At the point of the above play, the front five were (from left to right): Sam Tevi, Feeney, Spencer Pulley, Kenny Wiggins, and Michael Schofield. *throws up a little*PositivesPlayed a role in the offense with a good deal of responsibility. Was responsible for making sure all checks at the LOS were in before signaling to the center they were ready to snap the ball.Understands leverage when going against larger interior defensive linemen.Knows when to flatten angles when to climbing to the second level against faster defenders.Looks for work when it’s not presented to him off the snap in pass protection.Possesses the “prick/finisher” mentality that goes a long way at the NFL level.Above-average movement skills and athletic-ability allow for increased variances in the run game as Anthony Lynn loves to pull his interior linemen.Always gives the extra effort when plays break down. Will fly around looking for something to throw himself into.Knows how to execute zone steps with rock-solid fundamentals. Doesn’t allow iDL to split double-teams.++ Functional StrengthAt 6-4 and 311 pounds, has the mass needed to help protect and control the depth of the pocketNegativesBecomes jumpy off the snap when he thinks he may get beat with speed.Needs to become more patient with this initial punch in pass protection. Will stop his feet when he thinks he has help with a defender, causing him to only work half a man.Can stand to lunge less. Usually happens when he doubts his abilities. Not the twitchiest in pass protection. Will commit to contact prematurely in hopes of guessing correctly to beat faster defendersAfter playing in almost every game and collecting nine starts, Feeney has shown enough at this point to make Chargers fans believe he could be a mainstay of this offensive line for years to come. With the addition of Mike Pouncey at center and veteran Russell Okung on his other side, expect Feeney to come out in 2018 with a stranglehold on the left guard position. Add back in fellow guard Forrest Lamp to the mix and you’ve got the makings of one of the best offensive lines the Bolts have had since the teams of the mid-2000’s.

Dural had made several positive impressions throughout the course of the summer, and had started off training camp strong. He was in the group fighting for reps as a returner as well as his duties as a receiver. This setback will likely end his 2018 season if the need for surgery is any indication to the severity of the break. Recovery times can range, but a serious break requiring surgery could lead to a recovery process taking months to complete. Such a long time-table to return could see Dural being placed in injured reserve. While at LSU Dural brought in 100 receptions for 1,716 yards and 13 touchdowns while also contributing as a returner. This injury thins the receiver group a bit, though depth is still considered a strength with players like Josh Huff, Cameron Meredith Marcus Williams Jersey , Brandon Coleman, Tre’Quan Smith, Keithe Kirkwood and Tommylee Lewis all vying for spots on the 53 man roster. DE Marcus Davenport (hip) and LB Manti Te’o (knee) once again did not practice, Davenport is questionable and Te’o has been ruled out. For the Giants OLB Olivier Vernon (ankle), CB Eli Apple (groin), WR Cody Latimer (knee), RB Jonathan Stewart (foot) and TE Evan Engram (knee) have been ruled out for Sunday’s game vs. Saints. Vernon and Apple are big blows. Also the Giants are promoting WR Jawill Davis from their practice squad in response to Cody Latimer. They placed Jonathan Stewart on IR.LB Connor Barwin (knee) was full and will play. CB Antonio Hamilton (groin) was limited and questionable for Sunday. WR Stacy Coley (hamstring) and DT Damon Harrison (knee), are new additions. Coley is questionable and Harrison has no designation so is likely.

Saints 53 man roster projection - Version 2.0

We’re now halfway through the preseason and battles for the bottom roster spots are well underway. Now that the league has moved to only one big cut at the end of the season we’re not going through the paces we were used to with weekly cuts as we whittled down the roster. While this gives the coaches more time to look at each group and every player it also makes the process more difficult to project for those who don’t wear black and gold to work every day. This is the second version of this roster projection series Alex Anzalone Jersey , and each week we’ll include not only roster projections but hot takes at various positions from our contributors here at Canal Street Chronicles. You can read version one here.Quarterbacks (3)Starter: Drew BreesBackup: Tom SavageBackup who runs fast on special teams: Taysom HillEven with his poor performance against the Cardinals Taysom still has the final roster spot for quarterbacks due to his play on special teams. While J.T. Barrett had a much better performance at the end of the 4th Quarter in New Orleans against Arizona than he did against Jacksonville he still hasn’t done enough to show he deserves to be protected by the 53 man roster while he develops. Currently he is a practice squad candidate.Staff Hot Take: Ellias J Williams “The Saints will cut Tom Savage and run with J.T. Barrett and Taysom Hill on the roster.”Runningbacks (5)Starter(s): Alvin Kamara & Mark Ingram *Backups: Jonathan Williams, Boston ScottFullback: Zach Line, Trey EdmundsSean Payton likes the runningback by committee approach, and he get’s to have plenty due to Ingram’s suspension. Right now Jonathan Williams seems to be leading the race for Mark’s snaps in the first four games of the season. The real question is who gets released once Ingram returns. Edmunds has been spending a lot of time in the “Hooman” role as a quasi-fullback/h-back/utility piece. This keeps him safe on the roster for now. Asterisk - Ingram’s suspension means he doesn’t count against the 53 man roster for the first four games of the season. Staff Hot Take: Don Kellum “Jonathan Williams performs so well he cuts into Ingram’s touches when he comes back.”Wide Receivers (5)Starters: Michael Thomas, Ted Ginn Jr, Cameron MeredithBackups: Tre’Quan Smith, Brandon TateTate through most of his career has been a receiver in name only. He is on the team for special teams; specifically he is currently the team’s top option as punt return and one of the two kick returners. That said we’ve seen the Saints offense bring players into the spotlight that had never previously entered it. Could Tate be that next guy? The four guys ahead of him are a lock for the roster. Be on the lookout for a Brandon Coleman reunion.Staff Hot Take: Chris Dunnells “WR/RB - Tommylee Lewis is gone. Boston Scott is the new Tommylee Lewis, taking over a return-only special teamer and emergency offensive option.” Tight End (3)Starter: Benjamin WatsonBackups: Josh Hill, Dan ArnoldHooman has stayed injured. Deon Yelder has had flashes, but like many UDFAs he hasn’t been consistent in his first year and seems more practice squad candidate than roster material right now. Griffin, while having some splash plays on special teams, seems to be in the same category as Yelder. Roster spots on this team are precious and a defensive lineman or defensive back could end up simply being more valuable. Staff Hot Take: John Sigler “Arnold > Yelder. Nuff said.”Offensive Line (8)Starters: Terron Armstead, Andrus Peat, Max Unger, Larry Warford, Ryan RamczykBackups: Jermon Bushrod, Will Clapp, Rick LeonardLike the defensive line, the offensive line has quite a few athletic prospects seen to have upside, but they aren’t necessarily seen as players who could be starters this season.Photo by Chris Graythen/Getty Images Leonard drew the ire of a lot of Saints’ fans on draft night but Pro Football Focus has him listed as the best rookie tackle in terms of pass protection and the second best when blocking for the run. He’s quietly had a good camp and given that several teams apparently were considering drafting him around the same spot the Saints took him New Orleans could look to protect him by keeping him on the roster.Staff Hot Take: Chris Dunnells “Rick Leonard, Saints fan’s whipping boy on draft day, starts more NFL games in 2018 than Jermon Bushrod.”Defensive Line (9)Starters: Cameron Jordan, Sheldon Rankins, Tyeler Davison, Alex OkaforBackups: Marcus Davenport, Trey Hendrickson Authentic Josh LeRibeus Jersey , David Onyemata, Devaroe Lawrence, Taylor StallworthThere are several ways the Saints could go when it comes to their defensive line and there would still be fans split between happiness and sadness. Stallworth provides depth as a run stuffing nose who has shown the short area quickness and agility to provide some pass rush when needed. Most of the players on this list are locks for the roster with arguably only spots eight and nine on this projection even up for debate. Devaroe has continued to prove New Orleans right for keeping him around after his injury issues. Assuming he stays healthy he is in the black and gold in 2018.Staff Hot Take: Garen “Davenport plays only 35% of total snaps this season due to the ascendance of Trey Hendrickson and Okafor’s solid play”Linebackers (6)Starters:Demario Davis, Manti T’eo, A.J. KleinBackups: Alex Anzalone, Hau’oli Kikaha, Craig RobertsonGuess who’s back (back back), back again? Kikaha’s back, tell a friend. Against Arizone Kikaha played snaps on special teams while also providing depth snaps at defensive end and linebacker. The versatility he’s showing makes him to take off of the roster. The one week fire that was Jayrone Elliot hype has smoldered after the Cardinals game. With two weeks left until cut day the bottom of the linebacker roster is up for grabs.Staff Hot Take: Ellias J Williams “Kikaha is traded to Greenbay”Cornerbacks (7)Starters: Marshon Lattimore, Ken Crawley, Patrick RobinsonBackups: P.J. Williams, Arthur Maulet, Justin Hardee, Natrell JamersonSeven cornerbacks? Four safeties? With the change in kickoff rules coming here in 2018 we Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sportscould start seeing rosters devote more space to defensive backs and other skill positions to accommodate the new rules. There are still many questions on how the rules will affect the game, and special teams coordinators are certainly going through their own learning curve, but right now players like Jamerson, Hardee and Maulet all have looked pretty strong. Staff Hot Take: Bob Rose “Neither PJ or Kikaha make the team. Looks like the 53 man roster might end up with The Clapp.”Safeties (4)Starters: Marcus Williams, Kurt ColemanBackups: Vonn Bell, Chris BanjoSafety is one of the few positions on this team where the term depth can’t be liberally applied. Rookie Kamrin Moore has struggled with injures and Rickey Jefferson tore his ACL against the Cardinals. Bell, Coleman and Williams will all likely see significant playing time while Banjo continues to be the special teams contributor he was originally brought in to be. Staff Hot Take: Chris Conner “Vonn Bell will get cut. He changed his number, and the curse of Corey White still lives on in New Orleans”Note: Chris wins the Hot Take of the week award. There wasn’t one before, but that was straight fire, as the kids say. Special Teams (3)Punter: Thomas MorsteadKicker: Wil LutzLong Snapper: Zach WoodKeys to success: More Tre’Quan Smith is one of few tweaks Saints are making to gain advantage over Falcons Whatever it takes to get the upper hand, you do it!Tre’Quan Smith, Cameron Meredith, Ted Ginn Jr. Youth Austin Carr Jersey , and Alvin Kamara will all be doing something slightly different than they’ve done up to this point in the season when they arrive in Atlanta to face the Falcons in Week 3.For Smith, this appears to translate into an expanded role according to head coachSean Payton.“We have to find ways to get him more touches. He is handling our installation. He knows what we are doing game plan wise, and I think he is ready to prove that.” I get it.This is a chance to see what the rookie can do in an important game where any wrinkle can result in an upper hand. He’s shown a lot in camp and during preseason, so now is as good a time as ever for him to swim or sink. The question is, will he look more like Kenny Stills or Robert Meachem? Meanwhile, following an injury to return specialist Tommylee Lewis that placed him on injured reserve, the Saints have inserted two new candidates into the now vacant punt return duties. One of those candidates Sean Payton said, “I know I’m comfortable with Alvin (Kamara) back there” but the other he was a little more guarded about and used it as a chance to give the player a vote of confidence“Ted Ginn is someone who’s done it and we just got to get that gas can in his locker and get him going. I think he’s someone who can give you some juice in that area.”Notice the highlighted “subtle” differences in the certainty of the two individual players?Over his career as a punt returner, Ginn has fielded 257 punts for 2,600 yards and 4 TDs.The drawback to some of that “juice” Payton alluded to is that he’s also had 16 fumbles in that time span. Two of them last year as a Saint that had Payton suggesting they “needed to find someone they can trust” before relieving him of those duties. When Payton had his issues with Reggie Bush, he used Lance Moore for the fair catch scenarios.I’d imagine something similar with Kamara and Ginn on Sunday. Finally, Cameron Meredith looks set to make his much anticipated regular season debut as a Saint after being inactive for the previous two games.“He’s doing well. He’s healthy. And this will be a week we’ll look to see how he progresses and see if we can get him into this plan.”Now granted, I trust that the staff knows when he’s ready to contribute but practice speed and game speed are two different things. His first preseason game saw him drop a pass (albeit thrown with questionable touch) that resulted in an INT for his quarterback. He would go on to fair much better in his fourth preseason game with 2 catches for 77 yards and a TD.It obviously took him some time to get up to speed, but those games were meaningless and the current scenario now begs the question - Does game rust and lack of action in the offense for Meredith show up at an inopportune time?I brought all of this to you to make a single point. There is some serious boom or bust potential with the timing of these changes. On one hand, the “newness” of these players and roles could give the Saints a slight advantage in what will be an otherwise close game. On the other they provide a breeding ground for potential mishaps because of that very same “newness”.In a rivalry that is usually won by the team that makes the fewest mistakes, we’ll find out which side of the coins these moves land on following Sunday’s game.Matchup to watch vs FalconsThe Falcons offensive line is missing starting left guard Andy Levitre after he was placed on IR earlier this week.If the secondary is going to hold up against Atlanta’s receiving talent, the defensive line will need to be the catalyst that makes it all possible.Yes, it’s important that the defensive backs force Ryan to go through more than his 1st or 2nd read, but it’s up to the front seven to make him pay when he does.Once you begin hitting Ryan (like any other quarterback) that’s when the mistakes and the second guessing start to appear. If they can rattle him Marshon Lattimore, Ken Crawley, and Marcus Williams should have a chance to turn some tipped passes or errant throws into turnovers late in the game.Random Thought IEven at a young age, when you walk out on the field with your friends you know the consequences of playing tackle football. While being hurt as a kid was more likely than getting injured, you still recognized it’s a gladiator sport.Interesting that many QBs are coming out and trashing the NFL’s current aims to protect the quarterback position.Random Thought IIAdd the recent news that Saints plan to start P.J. Williams in place of Ken Crawley, as another change that has boom or bust potential. The Saints offense is moving the ball and the Falcons offense is moving the ball. The Saints defense is giving up points and the Falcons defense is giving up points.Per usual in this rivalry, it could all come down to which defense or special teams makes the key play that ultimately ends up being the difference in this game. There will be plenty of opportunities for either side but with the Falcons down at least three of it’s primary play makers and the Saints fairly healthy New Orleans should could steal a victory in Atlanta.Prediction: Saints win 28-27

MVP is I was going to go ahead and do the final question of our series with Scott Kacsmar of Football Outsiders yesterday Womens Eric Kendricks Jersey , but I didn’t want it to get run over by the news and notes from the All-Important Third Preseason Game鈩? In light of that, and the fact that SLOTERMANIA IS RUNNIN’ WILD, BROTHER, that was probably for the best. But, we do have one more question that I posed to Scott in conjunction with the release of the 2018 Football Outsiders Almanac. We stick with the defensive side of the football, and I ask him a question that we’ve had numerous discussions about in this space before.Sticking with the defense, of all the great players the Vikings have on that side of the football, who is the one player from Mike Zimmer’s defense that they can least afford to lose for a significant period of time, in your opinion?I’ve long maintained that Harrison Smith is the most valuable player in the Minnesota defense, simply because of the versatility that he offers. Said versatility then allows Mike Zimmer and George Edwards to do a lot of different things with the other parts of the defense because they can count on Smith doing his job on pretty much every play. But Scott’s answer of Xavier Rhodes, and the justification behind it, makes a lot of sense. We know that Rhodes is one of the NFL’s top corners, and the Vikings’ #2 corner, Trey Waynes, could probably be a #1 corner on a lot of teams. But if Rhodes were to go out Customized Minnesota Vikings Jerseys , Waynes moves up to that top corner spot, and then everyone else moves up as well. While Mackensie Alexander has shown some improvement and Mike Hughes has all the talent in the world, they both still carry a lot of question marks. If the Vikings were to lose Smith, they have a lot of solid talent behind him, particularly with the addition of George Iloka. Iloka, Andrew Sendejo, and even Anthony Harris could start on a lot of different NFL teams, and if they had to step in for Smith for an extended period, there would be a slight drop-off, but I don’t think it would cause the sort of ripple effect that an injury to Rhodes might cause.I still think that Harrison Smith is the best player on the Minnesota defense, but the team could probably absorb his loss more easily than they could losing Rhodes for an extended period. Hopefully we won’t have to find out either way. Thanks to Scott Kacsmar for sitting down and taking the time to answer our questions about the 2018 Minnesota Vikings. And, once again, be sure to grab yourself a copy of the Football Outsiders 2018 Almanac for your football reading pleasure. What You Missed: Week 2 First of all, I’m annoyed because looking at a 1-0-1 record, or any record with a tie at the end of it www.authenticsminnesotavikings.com , is disgusting. But aside from that, the Vikings 29-29 tie against the Packers on Sunday could affect the playoff picture when we get to the end of the season. Basically, it’s unlikely we’ll need to use any tiebreakers to determine seeding for the playoffs, unless the Vikings are tied with the Packers or there’s another tie.Of note: there has been a tie in each of the first two weeks of the season, which is highly irregular. In a 10-minute overtime period, each team is essentially going to get one shot to score, and if they don’t we’re looking at a field goal at the end of the period. In both ties this year, that field goal has been missed. Bring back the 15-minute overtime? What if I told you...That through two weeks of the season, the two best quarterbacks in the league have been...Ryan Fitzpatrick and Patrick Mahomes. Yep, those two. Fitzpatrick has come out of nowhere, filling in for the suspended Jameis Winston and leading the Bucs to wins over the Saints and Eagles in the first two weeks of the season. He’s leading the NFL in passing yards and is second in touchdowns. Is it sustainable? Probably not. Is it fun to watch? Absolutely.Speaking of fun to watch, how about Mahomes? The Chiefs used a first round pick on him in 2017, which signaled the end of the Alex Smith era in Kansas City. And since turning over the offense to Mahomes, they’ve been completely unstoppable. Through two games, Mahomes has an NFL record 10 touchdown passes. Which means Minnesota Vikings T-Shirt , yes, he’s on pace for 80 touchdowns. The single-season record, held by Peyton Manning is 55. Ok. He’s also single-handedly keeping my fantasy team afloat, so keep doing what you’re doing, Mr. Mahomes.A check-in on the AFCBecause we had a rematch of the AFC title game. And the Jaguars stood tall against the Patriots, as Blake Bortles tossed four touchdown passes to lead the home team to a 31-20 win. It’s Week 2, AKA #OverreactionSzn, so who knows what it means. The Jags did play without starting running back Leonard Fournette and, despite a late comeback attempt, really stopped Tom Brady from doing anything. Are the Jaguars the favorite in the AFC?Meanwhile, Ryan Tannehill and the Dolphins are leading the AFC East. What?In the NorthWe all know what happened with the Vikings and the Packers. Later on Sunday, the Lions looked awful for most of the game against the 49ers. They made an encouraging late comeback but still fell short and are now at the bottom of the NFC North at 0-2.I was impressed with the way the Bears bounced back from last week’s heartbreak, as they took down the Seahawks on Monday Night Football. The Seahawks look like they’re in a lot of trouble, as their defense is not what it once was and their offensive line is a disaster. But the Bears defense looks really good, because Minnesota Vikings Hats , well, Khalil Mack is basically unblockable. I’ll be interested to see what the Vikings offense does against them.Ex-Vikings quarterback reportHow can you root against Case Keenum? He didn’t play well in the first half against the Raiders on Sunday, but he led a comeback late in the fourth quarter to earn a 20-19 win. Especially impressive was his final drive, when he started deep in his own territory and drove all the way down the field to set up a game-winning field goal. His numbers weren’t very good — 222 yards, no touchdowns and an interception — but he got his team the win, which is something he did very, very well in Minnesota.Meanwhile, this segment is in serious danger if Sam Bradford can’t figure it out in Arizona. The Cardinals have looked awful through two weeks, and Josh Rosen’s shadow continues to loom larger and larger over Bradford, who threw for just 90 yards in the Cardinals’ 34-0 embarrassment at the hands of the Rams. People are already calling for Bradford to be benched.Speaking of the Rams...They’ve been dominant through two weeks. They have playmakers all over the field on both offense and defense, and they also have a wizard named Sean McVay. I’m not completely sold — Jared Goff hasn’t had to make any big plays yet — but the Vikings will travel to Los Angeles for a huge early-season showdown a week from Thursday. That game could have massive implications in the NFC.

WATCH: Patriots quarterback Danny Etling scores

an 86-yard rushing touchdown against the Giants The fourth week of the preseason usually is reserved for backups and depth players fighting for spots on rosters and practice squads. Every now and then New England Patriots T-Shirt , this leads to spectacular results. Enter New England Patriots third-string quarterback Danny Etling. The rookie is far from a lock to make the team but he just made one of the most spectacular preseason plays in recent memory.Enjoy Danny Etling scoring on an 86-yard touchdown run:Etling, who was drafted by the Patriots in the seventh round this year, was having an up and down game up to that point. Displaying plenty of inaccuracy and at times questionable decision making, he showed why he was on the roster bubble. That being said, the team’s offensive staff – with wide receivers coach Chad O’Shea serving as the signal caller tonight – decided to let him enter the spotlight on the play above.A great decision.Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman’s four-game suspension is over Two weeks ago, the New England Patriots acquired former Cleveland Brown Josh Gordon via trade to increase the depth and talent of its wide receiver group. Today New England Patriots Hats , straight off a 38-7 victory over the previously undefeated Miami Dolphins, the team is able to add another player at a position that has shown plenty of inconsistency through the first four weeks of the season (but that looked good yesterday): Julian Edelman.Edelman was suspended for the first quarter of the regular season after violating the NFL’s policy on performance enhancing drugs. His ban officially ended at midnight today, which means that the 32-year old can now rejoin his teammates and work out at the Patriots’ facilities again. While the team can request a roster exemption until Thursday, it will ultimately have to make a move to create a roster spot for him.The two likely scenarios are either seeing a player at a position of strength released or one getting placed on the injured reserve list. The most realistic candidates to get cut appear to be the team’s backup interior offensive linemen: Cole Croston, Brian Schwenke and Ted Karras could all get the axe to make room for Edelman. Meanwhile, injured players like Eric Rowe New England Patriots Womens Hoodie , Geneo Grissom or Keion Crossen could find their way onto the IR.No matter what New England decides to do, the team will likely be better as a result of the transaction: Edelman, who has not played in a non-preseason game since Super Bowl 51, will add another dimension to the Patriots’ offensive attack as a player who can get open quickly and serve as Tom Brady’s go-to guy in high pressure situations – something the team has lacked the past four weeks.

Chargers UDFA Spotlight: OL Zach Golditch

Everyone goes through some crazy stuff in life. Odds are defied all the time. But not many people can say they survived being shot in the neck to then go on and play in the NFL. However Cheap Philip Rivers Jersey , that’s exactly what former Colorado State offensive lineman Zach Golditch is trying to accomplish.Standing 6-foot-5 and 295 pounds, Golditch is the prototypical left-tackle for a pass-happy, spread offense. He became a regular starter in 2015 when he started 12 of 13 games, the first two at left tackle before playing the rest of the season at left guard.Golditch started the last 26 games of his career, playing mostly at left tackle but often moved around the formation where needed. Following his senior season, he was named a First Team All-Mountain West selection by the coaches. With his help, the offensive line averaged one sack allowed per game and ranked first in the Mountain West with 492.5 yards of offense per game.Unfortunately, he tore a flexor tendon in his left ring finger while playing in the NFLPA’s Collegiate Bowl. This kept him from doing any positional work during Colorado State’s pro day which likely played a role in his name not getting called over the course of draft weekend. In my opinion Cheap Keenan Allen Jersey , I’m not sure Golditch has much of a shot to make this roster. There are better offensive linemen among the UDFA group and nothing really stood out about his game while watching his film. He has experience and was a trusted member of the Rams’ front five that paved the way for a high-octane offense. I just don’t think he has the speed and strength to match up with the elite EDGE defenders in the NFL. Below you can find a short cut-up of his film against Oregon State from this past year. Take a look and let me know what you guys think (he is #61).Training camp off to a rough start Well, this is certainly not how we all wanted training camp to start. The Chargers players reported for training camp today and already there are big reasons to be disappointed. Firstly, as you probably already heard, Jason Verrett went down in the first conditioning exorcise with a torn Achilles and is done for the season. I was just getting over that news, when I just read this tweet that made my day, and probably soon to be yours as well, go from bad, to worse. Thats right Drew Kaser Jersey , despite the hype article earlier this week from the Chargers about Forrest Lamp, he is starting on the PUP list. Going on the PUP list now, means that Lamp is not allowed to practice until cleared by the team medical staff, however as soon as he is cleared, he’s allowed to practice and play in preseason games. However if he is not activated before the end of the preseason, and moves onto the regular season PUP list, he must sit out a minimum of 6 games. Great.Oh and what about this year’s first round pick? Well it appears Derwin James injured a muscle in training sometime between mini camp and now. So real practice hasn’t even officially started yet and 3 of the players most people were excited about are not going to be participating. Hopefully what Dan Woike heard was true and that Derwin is practicing sooner rather than later.

Terence Newman announces retirement

The http://www.vikingscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-tom-compton-jersey , will join Vikings coaching staff We have just received word that Minnesota Vikings cornerback Terence Newman has announced his retirement from the NFL and that he will immediately be joining the team’s coaching staff.Newman, who turns 40 in just three days, was set to be the oldest defensive player in the National Football League this season. He came back on a one-year contract that he signed this offseason, proclaiming that this was going to be his final year in the NFL.Newman came to the Vikings in 2015, and played in 47 of 48 possible games as a member of the team. He had shown the flexibility to play both cornerback and safety over the course of the time he was here, and the indications to this point had been that he was going to continue to fill that role for the team going forward.Newman didn’t see a whole lot of time this preseason http://www.thevikingsfootballauthentic.com/rashod-hill-jersey-authentic , and with the glut of young talent the Vikings have in the defensive backfield, Newman apparently thought it was time to hang up his cleats.Newman also has a long relationship with Mike Zimmer, going back to his days with the Dallas Cowboys. It’s not a surprise that he will be joining the Vikings’ coaching staff, though it has not been declared in exactly what capacity he will be serving at the present time.We would like to congratulate Terence Newman on a long and successful NFL career, and here’s hoping that he can sustain that success as a coach on the Minnesota sidelines. We will no doubt have more discussion of this over the next few days.Vikings Roster Cuts: Minnesota Vikings release Jack Tocho There are still a handful of roster cuts to be made by the Minnesota Vikings as they pare their roster down to 53. It sounds like another member of the team’s defensive backfield is going to be moving on.Our friends over at Vikings Territory are reporting that defensive back Jack Tocho will not be on the 53-man roster, but that the team hopes to bring him back to the practice squad.Tocho was a seventh-round pick of the Vikings in the 2017 NFL Draft Womens Laquon Treadwell Jersey , and was released from and re-signed to the team’s practice squad several times last season. He has split time between safety and cornerback, and spent most of his time this preseason at the cornerback spot. He had an up-and-down preseason, and it says something that the team likes him enough to try to bring him back.By our count, the Vikings now have 59 players on their roster, and they have a little less than an hour and a half to cut that number down to 53. We will be keeping track of all the moves right here.

Detroit beats New England 26-10 The (1-1) New England Patriots are on the road against the (0-2) Detroit Lions. Kickoff is at 8:20 PM ET on NBC.The Patriots are 6.5-point road favorites as they face off against former defensive coordinator and new Lions head coach Matt Patricia. Can the Patriots overcome Patricia’s insight into the team? Or will New England drop to 1-2 for the first time since 2012- the only time they’ve had a losing record through three games with Tom Brady as the starter?Pregame ShowGame DetailsGame Updates7:00 PM - Click here to see the inactive players report.First QuarterPatriots offensive starters:New England went 3-and-out to start the game after an errant pass from Tom Brady to Chris Hogan.Patriots defensive starters:The New England defense looked awful against the Lions offense Womens Jeremy Hill Jersey , but a great open field tackle by Jason McCourty set up a third-and-long and the Lions were inches short of a first down on their next play. Detroit opted to take the points and kicked a field goal for a 3-0 lead.Tom Brady and company went 3-and-out on their next drive, with Brady dumping off a pass to Sony Michel for negative yards, Phillip Dorsett dropping the next target, and Brady overthrowing Dorsett- with Dorsett having a small chance of bringing it down. Ryan Allen had an awful 36-yard punt to set the Lions up on their own 40-yard line. The Lions waltzed down the field with the entire Patriots defense looking awful. New England can’t stop the run or the pass, with Jason McCourty the only defender that is able to make a play. Detroit keeps running in routes and crossing patterns to shake the New England zone coverage and the Patriots don’t have a response.Second QuarterDetroit had no problems finishing off the drive with yet another Matt Stafford pass to crossing pattern, this time to Kenny Golladay in front of Stephon Gilmore, as the Lions scored a touchdown and took a 10-0 lead. Stafford is 10 of 11 on the day for 88 yards and a touchdown, with the only completion coming after Jonathan Jones punched the ball out after Golden Tate was coming down with the pass. Brady is 1 of 4 for -1 yards. That kind of start to the day.The Patriots went 3-and-out. Again. Sony Michel has 1 yard on 2 carries, while Brady found Rex Burkhead for a 7-yard pass. New England has 13 yards on three drives, with Michel having 6 yards on 5 touches. Burkhead’s reception makes up the other yards. Brady is 0-3 when throwing to Dorsett and Hogan. This is U-G-L-Y.New England replaced Jason McCourty with rookie J.C. Jackson to try and get a different result on defense (although Jason was one of two players, along with Jonathan Jones, to actually play well). The Lions targeted Keion Crossen on third down and converted, and then Jackson was flagged for a holding call on the next play Womens Phillip Dorsett Jersey , followed by a 12-man-on-the-field penalty. The Lions once again got into the red zone, but a 2-yard run by LeGarrette Blount and two incompletions forced Detroit to settle for a field goal and a 13-0 lead. The Lions have more first downs than the Patriots have yards. It’s pretty clear that the Lions are following the same game plan that the Jacksonville Jaguars used last week and the Philadelphia Eagles did in the Super Bowl- run the ball against a terrible run defense, and attack the linebackers in coverage of the running backs, and run crossers and in-route patterns because passing plays can develop since the New England pass rush won’t get home. Brady found Rob Gronkowski for a 9-yard gain to kick off the next drive and Michel picked up the rest of the needed yards to get the team’s first first down of the day. Brady found Gronk for 15 more yards to get into Lions territory. Rex Burkhead picked up 19 yards and then Sony Michel gained enough yards to get in the red zone and set up a 3rd-and-1, but a huge stop by the Detroit defense knocked Michel back 2 yards and the Patriots had to settle for a field goal and a 13-3 deficit.Detroit got the ball with 2 time outs and 40 seconds left on the clock and decided to try and get some points before the half. The Lions got to midfield with 11 seconds left on the clock, but Jonathan Jones made a pair of openfield tackles to drain out the rest of the time. The Lions get the ball after the half. There’s a whole lot of football left, especially if the Patriots can keep Gronkowski involved in the second half. Third QuarterThere’s life! Ja’Whaun Bentley undercut a pass up the seam and intercepted the pass to set up Tom Brady and company at midfield. Brady, Gronkowski, and Michel marched their way to the red zone and Brady found James White for a 10-yard touchdown pass and a 13-10 deficit. Whole lot of football left to play. The New England defense forced the Lions to convert three third downs before Stafford found Marvin Jones for a 33-yard touchdown and a 20-10 lead. There was a miscommunication between Stephon Gilmore and Duron Harmon, as Harmon was supposed to take Jones in coverage, but did not. Gilmore had to play catch up and Jones was open for the score. Gilmore was in coverage for both of the Lions touchdowns. The Patriots quickly punted the ball back to the Lions after an ugly drop from Sony Michel and a desperation heave from Brady to Gronkowski in double coverage. It’s a clear sign of Brady’s frustration when he attempts these throws to his favorite targets. There’s a lot of football left, but this could be over if Brady’s already in his head. He can’t wait until Julian Edelman returns. The Lions gained 43 yards on three plays as they’re driving to extend their lead.Fourth QuarterLeGarrette Blount gained 13 yards to get into the red zone, but Elandon Roberts made an open field tackle for a 5-yard loss Youth Dont'a Hightower Jersey , Stafford threw the ball away in the face of pressure from Deatrich Wise, and the Patriots held the Lions to a field goal and a 23-10 lead. New England has to play a perfect game for the rest of the night if they’re going to win this.Aaaaaaand Brady gets flagged for intentional grounding on the very first play of this drive. The Lions recorded a coverage sack that honestly took over five seconds. The Patriots are #NotGood on both sides of the ball. The Patriots forced their first punt of the night (!!) with a little more than 9 minutes left in the game and Cyrus Jones was the returnman. Michele Tafoya reported that Rex Burkhead is out with a neck injury, which explains why Michel has been the workhorse. Brady threw a stupid interception to a double-covered Phillip Dorsett and Darius Slay came down with the ball. This is over. The Patriots forced a punt as the Lions were simply trying to run down the clock. Tom Brady and company went for it on 4th-and-12 from their own 13-yard line with 3:22 left in the game. Brady chucked a prayer up to Dorsett that was no where close to the target. Dorsett was injured on the play. Vomit. The Lions kicked a field goal to take a 26-10 lead. The Patriots are 1-2 for the first time since 2012 and the second time since 2001. This was a terrible game. The Patriots are not a good team in their current state and it goes beyond the injuries to Patrick Chung and Trey Flowers and the suspension of Julian Edelman. Bill Belichick and company need to do some soul searching.Pats Pulpit Podcast Episode 116: Patriots crush Colts, can they counter the Chiefs? The New England Patriots took care of business against the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday Night Football and set up a favorable weekend for the good guys. After a slow start over the first three weeks, the Patriots back in first place in the division and have the inside edge on winning a millionth consecutive AFC East title. On offense, Julian Edelman returned and the impact to the rest of the skill players was obvious as everyone saw favorable match-ups against a banged-up Colts defense. Josh Gordon helped Tom Brady set a record and Sony Michel continued to improve. On defense, Jason McCourty is a stud opposite of Stephon Gilmore, while Devin McCourty struggled in coverage of tight ends- which is a major red flag with the Kansas City Chiefs and Travis Kelce coming to town next week.Alec and Rich cover it all. The New Orleans Saints continue their putrid record in Week 1 games. But in what was another roller-coaster of a game with plenty of ups and downs along the way, here are a couple that stood out.Photo by Wesley Hitt/Getty ImagesUp: Drew BreesDrew Brees deserved to win this game.He finished the game 37/45 for 439 yards, 3 TDs, a two-point conversion, and no interceptions. He nailed short throws and intermediate throws, and still showed plenty of zip on the ball. After the Saints traded for Teddy Bridgewater to possibly fill in as the QB of the future in New Orleans, as early as next season, Drew Brees is putting to bed the talks that he doesn’t have anything left in the tank.Photo by Jonathan Bachman/Getty ImagesUp: Alvin KamaraHe couldn’t really get anything going in the running game consistently (with only 29 yards), but he did finish the game with 141 total yards of offense and 3 scores. He showed multiple times why he was the 2017 Offensive Rookie of the Year, looking every bit as explosive and elusive as he was in 2017. Multiple times he looked like he was going to be cornered for a loss or minimal gain, but he would just turn on the jets and fight for extra yards. On the other hand, he did show that running between the tackles is still not his strong suit, so it will be interesting to see how Kamara is used going forward.Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY SportsDown: the rest of the Saints offenseAs great as Kamara and Brees were in this game http://www.saintsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-michael-thomas-jersey , the rest of the Saints offense left a lot to be desired. The Saints struggled to find running room as a team, feeling the effects of Mark Ingram’s suspension, rushing for only 43 total yards in the game. Cameron Meredith was inactive. Tre’Quan Smith was targeted once with zero catches. Michael Thomas, for as great a stat line as he put up in the game (180 receiving yards and a TD), he had two critical mistakes in the game. He dropped an easy completion for a first down that ended up resulting in a Saints punt and points for the Bucs, and then later lost a costly fumble that, again, resulted in points for the Bucs. Mike, you’re better than this. And speaking of “Mike’s,” Mike Gillislee - you’ve already been cut from one team for fumbles. Don’t make it another.Chuck Cook-USA TODAY SportsDown: the entire Saints defenseDefense?!WHAT defense?!I honestly cannot think of anything the Saints defense did well in this game.
Ryan Tannehill dropped back to pass and the pocket quickly collapsed John Franklin-Myers Color Rush Jersey , making it just like old times.

An onrushing end merely waved as he went by because Wednesday’s drills involved no contact, which spared Tannehill a blow. Instead, he scooted away on his reconstructed left knee toward the sideline and encountered a linebacker, who also pulled up at the last moment.

The hits will come soon enough, but for now Tannehill is healthy and optimistic about leading a turnaround by the Miami Dolphins.

He’s practicing this week for the first time since a torn left ACL in training camp ended his 2017 season before it began. A serious injury to the same knee forced him to miss the final four games in 2016, meaning he hasn’t played in nearly 18 months.

”It was a long year, some dark times,” Tannehill said, speaking publicly for the first time since he was hurt last August.

Tannehill has received medical clearance without limitations and isn’t even wearing a knee brace this week, although he plans to wear one in games.

”It’s purely to prevent what started the whole train wreck,” he said.

Tannehill said his return to practice stirred painful memories of watching workouts last year while sitting inside the team complex Authentic Nick Nelson Jersey , his injured leg in a brace and propped on a chair.

”It feels amazing to be back out there,” he said. ”It has been a lot of work to put a helmet back on and step on the grass again. I was just telling the guys, I can remember sitting in the cafeteria looking through the glass like a little kid that’s not allowed to go outside and play.”

Also back were linebacker Raekwon McMillan and cornerback Tony Lippett, both of whom missed the entire 2017 season because of injuries. The entire roster was on hand, although 35-year-old running back Frank Gore was on the field only briefly and won’t be involved in drills much this spring to keep him healthy.

Tannehill, a starter since his rookie season in 2012, has never played in the postseason. But he and the Dolphins are optimistic he can regain the form he showed in 2016, when he enjoyed the best stretch of his career and helped put the team in playoff contention before his injury.

”I feel like I kind of went on a run there,” Tannehill said. ”I felt like I was finally starting to play really good football, being in command of the offense and understanding what we were trying to accomplish with every play call.”

With Jay Cutler as an emergency replacement for Tannehill, the Dolphins slipped to 6-10 last year. Gase is so confident about Tannehill that they didn’t draft a quarterback last month.

”It’s great to have him back out there Sylvester Williams Color Rush Jersey ,” Gase said. “As long as we don’t have a setback, I feel good. We’re in a good place. I’ve seen him move around just as well as he ever has.”

Newcomer Josh Sitton, a four-time Pro Bowl guard, offered an endorsement of his new QB after just two practices together. Sitton took particular note of one strike Tannehill threw.

”He rolled out after a play action and was running to his left,” Sitton said. ”I thought, `That’s pretty impressive.”’

Tannehill didn’t miss a game in his first four NFL seasons, enduring 212 sacks behind a leaky line without serious injury. He said he’s not worried about his knee holding up, and won’t be thinking about it on the field.

The knee probably won’t be tested with contact until the preseason in August.

”I’m never eager to get hit,” Tannehill said with a chuckle. ”I’d be sadistic. But I don’t think about it any different than I would any other season going into a new season. It’s a physical game, and I love that.”

—

When given the choice, the Milwaukee Bucks will always prefer to have Giannis Antetokounmpo on the court closing out tight games.

They’re still winning while the All-Star forward rests a sore right ankle Jessie Bates III Jersey , a good sign for a team jockeying for playoff seeding in the East.

Coach Joe Prunty said it was too early to determine Antetokounmpo’s status for the regular-season finale Wednesday at Philadelphia, though he liked what he saw at practice. The NBA’s fourth-leading scorer (27.1 points) has missed the last two games because of the ankle injury.

”The bottom line is that it’s progressing, that’s the positive,” Prunty said after practice Tuesday.

A win over the 76ers allows the Bucks to clinch the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference. A loss means that they could fall as low as eighth, depending on how the Washington Wizards fare over their last two games.

Without Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee has beaten 50-loss teams in the New York Knicks and Orlando Magic. It’s a positive since the Bucks have been prone at times to playing down to the level of their opponents, especially those that can hit 3s.

Prunty’s team appears to be getting closer to full strength after winning three of their last four games, and five of their last seven. But the medical report has kept Prunty busy fielding questions about how much time injured players need to regain chemistry with the rest of the team.

Guard Malcolm Brogdon is working back into the rotation after the 2016-17 NBA Rookie of the Year followed a 30-game absence with a left quad injury. Brogdon appears to be fine after he played 14 minutes in his return his return Monday in the win over Orlando, Prunty said, and should play Wednesday.

Guard Matthew Dellavedova is also trying to come back from a sprained right ankle that has kept him out for two months.

”It does make it difficult, because you look at last night – Malcolm plays Authentic Matt Murray Jersey , but he’s not out there with Giannis, so that timing is going to be a little off,” Prunty said. ”But we are where are. We’ve got to find a way to make it work, and we will.”

Prunty does have other healthy proven scoring options in forwards Khris Middleton and Jabari Parker, along with point guard Eric Bledsoe. Parker is back to averaging about 30 minutes a night, two months after returning from a left knee injury.

Bledsoe is shooting about 50 percent from 3-point range over the last seven games, giving defenders the difficult decision of whether to play him more tightly at the perimeter at the risk of letting him blow past them on the dribble. Prunty especially likes the way that Bledsoe has been running the offense of late.

”We definitely know we can’t win the whole thing without (Antetokounmpo). But at the same time, we’ve got a lot of confident guys in the room,” Bledsoe said. ”We’re trying to get everybody on the same page because we’re going to need everybody.”

—

http://www.officialusafootballs.com/buffalo-bills

Authentic Carolina Panthers Jerseys

The Patriots should know fairly quickly whether they’ll be starting the season with or without veteran receiver Julian Edelman.

If Sylvester Williams Color Rush Jersey , as reported, the hearing on his PED suspension began on Monday, the PED policy requires a summary ruling from the arbitrator within three business days after completion of the hearing or receipt of the transcript, whichever comes later. And since it usually takes a little while to generate a transcript of a hearing involving testimony, argument, etc., that three-business-day clock likely won’t be ticking, for now.

Also, the use of the term “business days” means that weekends and holidays don’t count. Which means that, if (for example) the transcript is received by the arbitrator on Friday http://www.seahawksauthorizedshops.com/authentic-barkevious-mingo-jersey , June 29, Day One becomes Monday, July 2. Day Two will be Tuesday, July 3. Day Three will be Thursday, July 5.

If the summary ruling is late, Edelman doesn’t automatically win. Instead, the arbitrator ends up being suspended from hearing appeals for the remainder of the season.

Beyond that timeline, the arbitrator could request written briefs to be submitted based on specific issues that arose during the hearing. The parties will have no more than five business days to submit the briefs, which would naturally push the process back accordingly.

Also, keep in mind that the arbitrator for appeals of PED positive tests is now neutral; that’s one of the concessions the NFLPA received when agreeing to HGH testing. So the NFL won’t be reviewing the NFL’s decision. Which gives Edelman something better than a snowball’s chance in Roger Goodell’s coffee for prevailing — if he actually has a strong argument that can get the arbitrator’s attention.

If not Authentic Markus Wheaton Jersey , Edelman will miss the first four weeks of the season (vs. the Texans, Jaguars, Lions, and Dolphins), and the Patriots will enter 2018 without Edelman, Danny Amendola, or Brandin Cooks.

Coach Ron Rivera received a text from Cam Newton immediately after the Carolina Panthers selected Maryland wide receiver D.J. Moore in the first round of the NFL draft that read: "Thank you!"

The Panthers gave Newton more help on offense Thursday night by selecting Moore 24th overall in hopes of upgrading a passing game that finished 28th in the league last season.

Moore was the first wide receiver taken in the draft.

Panthers general manager Marty Hurney said Moore's best quality is his ability to make plays after the catch.

"When he has the ball in his hands he turns into a running back," Hurney said. "He breaks tackles and makes big plays. And still he has the speed to stretch the defense and go deep. He runs good routes and has a lot of strengths."

Newton apparently took notice.

"Cam stays up on all of this stuff and he came right to us with all of the offensive guys," Rivera said. "He pays attention to it."

Newton isn't the only one high on Moore.

Steve Smith Sr., the Panthers all-time leader in most receiving categories Daniel Winnik Jersey , said he likes the toughness with which Moore approaches the game and thinks he can be a big time player.

"To be truthful, they have never been able to replace me" said Smith, now an analyst for the NFL Network.

Smith thinks Moore might finally be the receiver that can.

"You get that guy and you've got instant grits all day long," Smith said.

"For Steve to say that is high praise," Rivera said. "I'm pretty fired up. I believe D.J. is a guy who can come in and play all three of our wide receiver positions."

Moore is the latest skill position player selected early by the Panthers in the hopes of giving Newton more to work with on offense. Last year Carolina selected running back Christian McCaffrey in the first round and wide receiver Curtis Samuel in the second to take some of the pressure off Newton after he had a down season statistically in 2016.

"It was nice to know that whatever I did in college did not go unnoticed," Moore said.

Moore joins what is becoming a crowded wide receivers room in Carolina.

The Panthers traded with the Eagles for Torrey Smith and signed free agent Jarius Wright from the Vikings earlier this offseason. Devin Funchess returns as Carolina's No. 1 receiver after a breakout season in 2017 and Samuel hopes to battle back following an injury-plagued rookie season.

Moore said he had a good idea the Panthers were going to select him.

"It was a sigh of a relief when I saw North Carolina (area code) come up on my phone," Moore said. "I was like, 'OK, this my pick.' They told me when I was on my draft visit they were going to (draft me), so they kept their promise."

Moore was the 2017 Big Ten Receiver of the Year and first-team all-conference selection. He had a school-record 80 receptions for 1 Noah Hanifin Jersey ,033 yards and eight touchdowns in 12 games last season for the Terrapins. He also led Maryland in receiving as a sophomore with 41 receptions for 637 yards and six touchdowns.

Rivera said Moore could also contribute right away as a returner in addition to playing wide receiver.

The 6-foot, 210-pound Moore said he feels like he can be a week one starter at wide receiver "if I put the work in."

Moore is the first draft pick chosen by Hurney's since 2012. Hurney was fired by the Panthers that year after conducting 11 drafts as GM, but returned to the team on an interim basis last summer and was hired full time in February.

Hurney said he didn't think Moore would drop to No. 24.

He said Moore reminds him a little of Smith.

"He has that play strength and that ability to break tackles and make yards after the catch," Hurney said. "That is a pretty high bar to set (comparing him to Smith) but there are a lot of things we liked about him.

The Panthers have made the playoffs in four of the past five seasons, but were knocked out in the first round last season by division foe New Orleans. The Saints swept all three games from Carolina, which made finding ways to match up better with them an offseason priority.

Carolina's offense stalled most of the season in 2017 and it was often the defense that had to bail them out.

The move comes on the same day the Panthers gave three-time Pro Bowl tight end Greg Olsen a two-year contract extension.

The "Honey Badger" is headed to Houston.

The Houston Texans said Monday they had signed unrestricted free agent safety Tyrann Mathieu and claimed wide receiver Sammie Coates off waivers from Cleveland.

Mathieu was released last week by Arizona after five seasons when the two sides couldn't rework his contract. The 25-year-old safety was due for $18.75 million of his contract to be guaranteed when the league year officially began and Arizona saved nearly $5 million in cap space by cutting him.

He has 11 career interceptions Womens Greg Olsen Jersey , four sacks, 41 passes defensed and 303 total tackles in 66 NFL games during a career plagued by injuries. Only last season did Mathieu appear in all 16 games and he finished with two interceptions along with 74 tackles. He was an All-Pro in 2015, when he had five interceptions and 17 passes defensed.

Mathieu became a star in the Arizona secondary after being selected in the third round of the 2013 draft following a troubled college career at LSU. A finalist for the Heisman Trophy as a sophomore, he got into trouble with marijuana and eventually was kicked out of school. Mathieu spent an entire season out of football and slid to the third round before the Cardinals took a chance on him.

His rookie season ended prematurely when he tore the LCL and ACL in his left knee.

His big 2015 season was cut short when he tore the ACL in the other knee. His absence was sorely felt as the team that went 13-3 before being routed by Carolina in the NFC championship game.

Despite the injury, the Cardinals rewarded him with a five-year, $62.5 million contract, with $15.5 million guaranteed. Off the field, he was a model citizen and with his fierce style and natural charisma Authentic Mason Rudolph Jersey , was among the most popular players on the squad.

The 24-year-old Coates was a third-round pick by Pittsburgh out of Auburn in 2015.. He spent two seasons with the Steelers before joining the Browns last year. He has 28 career receptions for 516 yards and two touchdowns in 32 regular-season games played, including six starts.

C.J. Anderson is leaving Denver with a million memories, a Super Bowl ring and no hard feelings.

"It's business, I understand it," Anderson told The Associated Press on Monday after he was released by the Denver Broncos. "I've been here five years and it came to an end. So, I'm excited for the next opportunity."

Where that is, "I don't know," Anderson said. "I have no clue at all."

Possible landing spots include Miami Womens Todd Gurley Jersey , where Dolphins coach Adam Gase offered him a four-year, $18 million deal in 2016 that Denver matched, and New England, where Patriots coach Bill Belichick is also a big fan.

Anderson hits free agency at an opportune time.

He's 27, has just 683 career carries and is coming off his best season, one in which he played in all 16 games for the first time and ran for a career-best 1,007 yards .

"I would never say it's a good time to be free," Anderson said. "All I ever tried to do was give my best effort to Denver in every way possible. I did that for five years. Now it's time to go and do that for another team."

Anderson wasn't one of the 23 running backs drafted in 2013 but the Cal alum has put up better career numbers than all of those running backs except for one: Steelers star Le'Veon Bell.

Anderson's resume includes a Pro Bowl Sam Darnold Color Rush Jersey , two dozen TDs, a pair of playoff touchdowns and numerous game-sealing runs, none bigger than his TD plunge that capped Denver's 24-10 win over Carolina in the Super Bowl three years ago.

Shortly afterward, Gase, who had been his offensive coordinator in Denver, offered him the big contract that Broncos GM John Elway ultimately matched.

The deal included a $5 million signing bonus and salaries of $675,000 in 2016, $2.9 million last year and $4.5 million in each of the next two years.

Because there was no dead cap money in 2018 or '19 http://www.giantsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-patrick-omameh-jersey , Anderson knew his release was, if not imminent, a very strong possibility this offseason as the Broncos rebuild an anemic offense following a 5-11 season.

"I knew I could be released or traded at any time," Anderson said.

His release not only clears a combined $9 million off the books for Denver but it opens the way for Devontae Booker, De'Angelo Henderson or maybe even a pick in the upcoming draft to take over as the Broncos' featured back alongside new QB Case Keenum .

"I respect the decision whether it's a money issue or a play issue," Anderson said. "They feel like they can move on from me. I understand that. That's the beauty of our game. Now I get an opportunity to showcase my skills somewhere else."
