For the third straight week, I suggested to sit Sanu in my weekly start/sit column Youth Brian Poole Jersey , and for the third straight week he put up starter worthy numbers in what should’ve been a poor situation for him. I solemnly swear not to put the “sit” by Sanu’s name this upcoming week.It was an overall very bad game for all of the usual big names on offense. Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley were each held to under 65 receiving yards, Matt Ryan threw one TD pass and failed to reach 300 yards passing while fumbling once and the run game was just shut down completely.Sanu accounted for the only receiving touchdown in this one — a 43-yard catch and run on the team’s second drive of the game — and he finished second on the team with 73 receiving yards. Since he was one of the only players not to lay an egg in Week 5, giving Sanu his first “stud” award was an easy decision.DudTevin Coleman: 7 carries, 15 rushing yards, 2 catches, 15 receiving yards: 3.0 standard league points, 5.0 PPR pointsBoth Freeman and Coleman were horrendous from a fantasy standpoint, in a game where both of them looked starter worthy coming into the week. Freeman gets somewhat of a benefit of the doubt in that this was his first game back from injury. He also recorded a few more yards from scrimmage than Coleman (41 to 30), so Teco gets the dishonor this week.Coleman got absolutely nothing going in this one, averaging a brutal 2.1 yards per carry. He’s been disappointing in every game since his explosion against the Panthers in Week 2, but he didn’t have the volume to establish a high fantasy floor this week.Ito Smith was the only Falcons’ RB to find the end zone, probably infuriating both Freeman and Coleman fantasy owners alike. It’s not like either of them deserved to score that garbage time TD when the game was already out of hand, however. Coleman has failed to take advantage of his opportunity with Freeman sidelined. Before their Sunday night matchup, the Los Angeles Lakers and Atlanta Hawks wore shirts to honor the 12 people killed in the latest mass shooting at Borderline Bar in Thousand Oaks, California. The bar is located just an hour outside of the Staples Center, where the team plays.The Los Angeles Clippers and Milwaukee Bucks wore the same shirts on Saturday night for their game. The shirts had the names of all 12 victims on the back and the word “Enough” printed on the front.This will be the Lakers’ first political statement since LeBron James joined the team in July. With injuries limiting his time on the field and production, it was risky of the Lions to tag Ansah, and he only lasted a few snaps before a shoulder injury saw him on the sideline for the team. If the emergence of Devon Kennard continues, Bosa would be the perfect pick to place outside. The Lions like to put some pressure on opposing quarterbacks and keep rushers from killing them off the edge. We've still got 14 games to play in the regular season, so plenty of things can change before the draft. He has spent the entire season on Arizona practice squad before being promoted four days ago.Cards Camp Clip Notes I Steve Wilks got the tempo rolling on the first day of pads with a series of Oklahoma (one on one) drills. What impressed me right off the bat was the pass blocking technique of the offensive linemen.Ray Brown must be stressing the initial hand punch to square up the rusher because this was plainly evident in D.J. Humphries’ sound fan block of Chandler Jones and in Justin Pugh’s pop on Robert Nkemdiche, which prevented the DT from making a swift swim move.One of the blocks that stood out was Daniel Munyer’s fan block on Olsen Pierre. This was textbook. Knowing that the QB to his inside was taking a 3 step drop and understanding that he couldn’t afford to have Pierre cross his face and blow up the A gap to the QB, Munyer quickly drop-stepped to influence Pierre up the B gap, then once Pierre committed to the B gap, Munyer closed the deal by leveraging him wide of the QB. Oklahoma drills and nifty QB play from Oklahoma’s Sam Bradford were the highlights of the day. Bradford’s check offs at the l.o.s. kept the defense guessing and then whenever Bradford smelled blitz, he immediately took advantage of the momentarily vacated area. Case in point: on one play, the very moment Patrick Peterson starting hedging in for a CB blitz, pre-snap, Bradford and WR Chad Williams did exactly what the QB and WR are taught to do—-the QB detects the flow to his right, catches the snap, and turns into the pressure, while the WR scraps his original route to hitch at the l.o.s. where he squares for the catch. Then Authentic Justin Pugh Jersey , Williams took advantage of a poor pursuit angle from the safety, by delivering a quick inside-out move where he was able to blow past the safety up the sideline to the pylon. TD. Al Holcomb will correct this by assuring Peterson that with his speed, he doesn’t have to cheat as much pre-snap and by stressing to the safety how imperative it is to funnel the WR to the inside where all the help is. This is the basic “contain” rule on the edge.I believe that involving Peterson in the blitz schemes is going to help take his game to a new and higher level, because it is going to make him all the more aggressive as a tackler and playmaker.In Bradford and McCoy, the Cardinals now have a Peyton Manning type of offense that is conditioned to win the battles of cat and mouse. The fact that Bradford and McCoy already have the WRs (even the ones not named Larry) well versed in hot reads, like Chad Williams was, is a testament to McCoy’s coaching prowess and Bradford’s ability to communicate with his receivers. This is an area that David Johnson had previously struggled with, and yet Bradford and Johnson already look like they have the reads and the timing down pat. As for David Johnson, has anyone noticed that he is now lowering his shoulder upon contact? This is a significant adjustment and change in his running style. And with the new tackling rules, Johnson is going to be able to break more tackles than he did previously when he was bouncing off hits or relying so heavily on his stiff-arms. Johnson is also going to be able to protect the ball better. Moreover, take a look at how quickly and effectively he is transferring the ball from one hand to the other, depending on the direction of the run. Josh Rosen’s tight window pass downfield to J.J. Nelson was a work of art. In an earlier film session, Coach Wilks had showed and modeled to the team a clip of one of Rosen’s seam pass lasers. And then Rosen delivered another gem to Nelson, which is also significant in that making catches in tight windows through traffic has not been one of Nelson’s strengths the past few years. Clearly, Nelson is trying to elevate his game to a higher standard. Moving Josh Rosen’s locker between Sam Bradford’s and Mike Glennon’s is a testament to the type of astute planning we are seeing from the head coach. It is also a manifestation of the eagerness of the new staff to integrate the rookies into the team fabric as swiftly as possible.I got goosebumps when I saw the bricks Coach Wilks had had made for each of the players. The Thursday night game looked abysmal and to no surprise Oakland had zero good fantasy outings. On Sunday, the Raiders will have to face the Los Angeles Chargers again. In the first game, the Chargers blew the Raiders out 26-10. For a second straight week, it is going to be bleak for Oakland. Must StartQB Philip RiversNo one knew who Nick Mullens was 24 hours before kickoff last Thursday. Now, football fans across America know this kid’s name. It might be unsafe to think about what a future Hall of Fame quarterback in Philip Rivers will do to the depleted and lifeless Raider defense. RB Melvin GordonIn the first meeting against Oakland, Melvin Gordon tallied one touchdown and 120 yards from scrimmage. Amazingly, that should be considered a monumental win for the Raiders defense as Gordon has gashed teams for 124 yards from scrimmage per game and 10 touchdowns in seven games. So in the first meeting, Gordon put him numbers similar to his average. When players go against the Oakland defense, they usually perform A LOT better than their average. Expect that to be the case this Sunday for Gordon. WR Keenan AllenKeenan Allen this season is averaging close to six receptions for 80 yards per game but has just one touchdown all year. After racking up 152 yards from scrimmage against a much better Seattle defense last week Authentic Donald Penn Jersey , Allen is trending in the right direction. He will be able to put up big yards as he has done that all year. And this would be the game for Allen to find the end zone since he is playing the same defense that had people drawing connections between Mullens and Joe Montana. Proceed with CautionQB Derek CarrDerek Carr is never a smart man to bet against. And there is no doubt he will want to prove the doubters wrong after last week’s performance in Santa Clara. But Carr just hasn’t had enough time to throw the football this season due to the many injuries up front and the inexperience at the tackle positions. And Los Angeles, led by Melvin Ingram, has gotten to the quarterback 22 times in the first eight games. If you ever lose sight of Carr during the game, just check the ground. That is where he will probably be after many passing plays. The one saving grace for Carr, garbage time can be a great weapon for fantasy quarterbacks. RB Jalen RichardBased on what I said about Carr, I am not confident in the offense’s ability to consistently move the ball this game. However, that could be a benefit for Jalen Richard. If the team is down big early, Richard will see many snaps and could see a lot of dump offs in the second half if the defense is giving a lot of cushion. BenchTE Jared CookJared Cook hasn’t performed well lately. He has had 20 yards receiving or less in three of the last four games. One of those games was against the Chargers in which he had just 20 yards. And again, if Carr isn’t going to be upright, it is tough to imagine Cook getting a ton of targets. RB Doug MartinIn the first meeting, Oakland ran the ball 12 times for 36 yards. The team is less motivated now than it was earlier in the season and is having more issues protecting the quarterback and throwing the football. If the Raiders are one-dimensional (more like zero-dimensional) and struggling to pick up first downs, Doug Martin is not going to get enough carries to provide a solid fantasy day. I believe the Raiders might be a year or two away before being ready to be a major player in the AFC playoff picture.BD WilliamsRecord: 8-8They say you lose a game for every rookie starter. The Raiders have 5 or 6 players destined for big roles who have never played an NFL season before. But then how many games do you lose after trading Khalil Mack?Gruden has vastly improved the coaching staff and for that reason the Raiders have a shot at a winning record. But the amount of new faces also means this team will take time to mesh. The margin for victory in the NFL is so narrow, Gruden only made it harder on himself after dealing Mack. Playoffs is too high of an expectation, especially when all AFC West teams are a threat. That being said, fans should notice that the Raiders are fighting harder and in more games during the 4th quarter than last season. Ryan LiptonRecord: 9-7Going through the schedule I came up with nine wins for the Oakland Raiders. However, that seems a little high to me. Not sure if that is because of the atrocity that was trading Khalil Mack this past week, but I still see Oakland improving in 2018. The defense should be improved from last year, even without Mack, just because of the coaching that Paul Guenther brings. On offense, it is the same idea. There is no Downing, but instead Jon Gruden. As such, I think Carr is going to have a very good year. I had the Raiders at 9-7 this offseason. He has another new coordinator (Gruden, not Greg Olson) so I expect it will take a season for him to really get clicking. Since then a few things have happened. The first is that this season has the look of an outlier for Quinn, given that this team made the Super Bowl after 2016 and the playoffs in 2017 Youth Brian Poole Jersey , and injuries have largely crippled the defense. Clemson and Ohio State are the top out-of-state recruiters in Florida, but watch out for Alabama.Clemson has five-star receiver Frank Ladson and four-star running back Chez Melussi. The Gators took Sanders’ brother Ulmstead as a walk-on linebacker. Summerall is being recruited for the 3-4 defense, which helps the Gators stand out against Miami and FSU, who run the 4-3. The team will host the Carolina Panthers next Sunday, though two key figures to the Panthers’ offense could be on the sideline. TE Greg Olsen exited Carolina’s Sunday win over the Dallas Cowboys with a foot injury and did not return. He was questionable pre-game with a back injury as well.Postgame, Ron Rivera said it was not the same foot injury that limited Olsen last season but that it was the same foot. Olsen turned 33 in March but is still one of Cam Newton’s top targets on that offense. Even if the injury is not serious, the team could opt to give Olsen a week off with so many bangs and bruises this early. This would clear the way for rookie TE Ian Thomas to start, who had been drawing some praise from training camp. Starting right tackle Daryl Williams might be in a tough spot, as he’s scheduled to get an MRI Monday on his knee. He was carted off during Sunday’s contest with an injury.
