Five things to watch as the Chiefs face the Patriots With Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes currently leading greatest-of-all-time Kansas City Chiefs Hats , All-Galaxy quarterback Tom Brady in almost all NFL passing statistics — and with the Chiefs at 5-0 and the New England Patriots at 3-2 — the national media is all over this game. They’d like you to believe that this game will determine if Mahomes is taking “the torch” from Brady’s hands. But it won’t.Just as the win against the Denver Broncos gave the Chiefs a firm grip on the steering wheel of the AFC West, this game is about whether the Chiefs can get control of the wheel for the entire conference. As for that torch thingy... it will just have to wait its turn.Mahomes already has his hand on it, but actually wrestling it away from Brady is going to take more than a regular-season win against the Patriots — even in Foxboro. And it’s going to take more than a Chiefs loss to break Mahomes’ grip, too. So let’s all settle down, and keep an eye on five things to watch during the game:1. The chess gamePhoto by Michael Loccisano/Getty Images for HBOWatching Andy Reid and Bill Belichick coach these games is like watching two old guys who have sat across from each other at the same chess board in the park every afternoon for the last 20 years. Each intimately know the other guy’s strategies and how to defend against them; more often than not, they fight a battle of attrition that results in a narrow win for one of them. But once or twice a week, one of them manages to mask an unexpected parry with what seems like a dumb pawn-grab — or manages to execute a successful flanking attack with his knights or bishops — leading to a sudden collapse by his opponent. The 2015 playoff game between these two teams represented the norm between these two coaches: a narrow win for the Patriots determined by small battles won and lost. But the two other games between these teams since Reid arrived in Kansas City were the other kind — where Reid completely flummoxed his longtime adversary with unexpected moves that left him flat-footed.This game should be more like the norm.Belichick has already admitted that the Chiefs may have too many weapons for his usual go-to strategy — that is, to simply take away the other team’s best weapon — to work. And Reid may have exhausted his inventory of plays and approaches the Patriots won’t expect. All that may be left for each coach is to declare outright war — to have their defenses pin back their ears and go after the other king with everything they have... to fight for every square on the board. The trouble is that Belichick’s aging, traditional king can only move one space at a time when it is under attack.Reid’s is the late-model king that can move more like a queen when under attack — and even mount a counterattack of its own.2. The depth gameComing out of the Jacksonville Jaguars game with multiple injuries to their starters, the Chiefs are about to find out what kind of depth they have at crucial positions; it’s hard to imagine a tougher test. Some Chiefs fans believe they already know the answer to this question; I’ve seen Twitter posts about the “bums” the Chiefs have added to the roster to play against New England. But that’s missing the point. Those guys aren’t meant to play against New England — although some of them may see the field. Those guys are meant to back up the guys who will play against New England. Some of these backups who will be thrust into starting roles have seen significant playing time on special teams.Somebody has to take those snaps. And if they get hurt — or simply need a couple of snaps off — someone has to be there to step in.This is pretty simple math, my Chiefs brothers and sisters. When the backup becomes the starter, you have to have another backup.Still... players like Jordan Lucas, Breeland Speaks and Jordan Devey will have their work cut out for them on Sunday night.Lucas was a very pleasant surprise against Jacksonville, Speaks was better than many would have expected, but Devey didn’t really have enough snaps to give us a clear picture.Should he struggle, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Andrew Wylie go in for him.3. The interior gamePhoto by Maddie Meyer/Getty ImagesAs The Nerd Squad’s Craig Stout noted, history shows us that Chiefs edge rushers have had little success in getting pressure on Brady.Brady simply gets the ball away too quickly for edge rushers to get to him.If Brady is going to see pressure, it’s going to have to come from the interior of the Chiefs defensive front. And we all know that getting pressure on Brady is one of the keys to beating Brady.Yes... Allen Bailey Kansas City Chiefs Womens Hoodie , Xavier Williams and Chris Jones, we’re looking at you.Just a few weeks ago, few of us might have thought this was even possible. But in recent weeks — especially against the Jaguars — all three seemed to have stepped up their games. That needs to continue on Sunday for the Chiefs to have a chance of stopping the Patriots offense. If the Chiefs defensive interior can play with the intensity and swagger they displayed against the Jaguars and Broncos, that will go a long way to getting the Chiefs to 6-0 Sunday night.4. The running gamePhoto by Maddie Meyer/Getty ImagesThe Interwebs are crawling with pundits giving the Patriots advice on now to beat the Chiefs. This is a real through-the-looking-glass moment for Chiefs fans; it’s been a long time since national pundits regularly concerned themselves with helping Chiefs opponents figure out how to beat the Kansas City juggernaut. But I digress. These pundits are suggesting the Patriots try and keep the Chiefs off the field as much as possible by establishing its running game against the Chiefs. If the pundits were advising the Chiefs, the advice might be the same; the Patriots offense was slow to start this season but has scored 38 points in the last two games.Neither team has so far demonstrated a strong rushing attack — but neither team is particularly good at stopping the run, either. So it wouldn’t be unreasonable to expect both teams to try and slow down the offensive tempo of this game by emphasizing the ground game on offense, and try to depend on late drives to win.In fact, the teams combined for more than 300 rushing yards in last year’s game — with the Chiefs taking a much bigger piece of the pie — and still scored almost 70 points between them.5. The record gamePhoto by Maddie Meyer/Getty ImagesYou may recall that last season, much was made of the Patriots’ home record when the Chiefs came to town to open the season. It didn’t faze the Chiefs at all, shocking the Patriots with a 42-27 defeat. But now that last season’s Chiefs victory is in the books, there’s a record on the line.No team has defeated Belichick’s Patriots at home in successive seasons since 2002, when the New York Jets beat the Patriots 10-3 in September of 2001 and 30-17 in December of 2002.But even if the Chiefs can break this streak, Andy Reid won’t spend much time thinking about it.He’ll be on to Cincinnati. The Kansas City Chiefs improved to 8-1 by defeating the Cleveland Browns, 37-21, on Sunday afternoon. Here were the snap counts for the Chiefs:OffenseDefenseSpecial teams (only)Starters (offense): WR Tyreek Hill, LT Eric Fisher, LG Cam Erving, C Austin Reiter Womens Customized Kansas City Chiefs Jerseys , RG Andrew Wylie, RT Mitch Schwartz, OL Jeff Allen, TE Travis Kelce, QB Patrick Mahomes, RB Kareem Hunt, FB Anthony ShermanStarters (defense): LDE Allen Bailey, NT Derrick Nnadi, LOLB Breeland Speaks, LILB Anthony Hitchens, RILB Reggie Ragland, ROLB Dee Ford, LCB Steven Nelson, RCB Kendall Fuller, S Orlando Scandrick, S Ron Parker, DB Eric MurrayActive, but did not play: QB Chad Henne www.chiefscheapshoponline.com , C Jimmy MurrayInactive: S Eric Berry, RB Darrel Williams, LB Justin Houston, OLB Frank Zombo, OL Mitch Morse, OL Kahlil McKenzie, DT Justin HamiltonTakeaways (in no particular order)OL Jeff Allen technically earned a “start” since he was on the field for the first play of the game as the sixth offensive lineman. It is a reason the stat may as well be thrown out the window in today’s NFL, as Allen finished with just four offensive snaps.Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill (62 offensive snaps) and tight end Travis Kelce (61 offensive snaps) were each on the field more than 90 percent Sunday. The amount running back Spencer Ware is producing in limited opportunities (14 snaps) is great for the Chiefs. Ware had 81 yards from scrimmage. Finding ways to get Ware in the mix with Kareem Hunt playing so well will be a good problem to have moving forward for Andy Reid. The Chiefs’ iron man Sunday was safety Eric Murray, who played 75 defensive snaps for 100 percent. Cornerback Steven Nelson and safety Ron Parker missed a play each. The “Lucas Locomotive” chugged along for 12 defensive snaps (16 percent).Dee Ford (71 defensive snaps) and Breeland Speaks (65 defensive snaps) were your starting outside linebackers, with Tanoh Kpassagnon recording 13 defensive snaps. Nate Orchard had one defensive snap in his return to Cleveland.Kudos to inside linebacker Anthony Hitchens, who toughed through a rib contusion to play 52 defensive snaps (69 percent). It was still more plays than Reggie Ragland, who played 26 defensive snaps (48 percent). Ben Niemann had 11 defensive snaps for 15 percent.Linebacker Dorian O’Daniel had a career-high 33 snaps (44 percent) on defense.Special-teams stars (15 snaps or more): TE Demetrius Harris (22), FB Anthony Sherman (20), LB Ben Niemann (17), CB Charvarius Ward (17), LB Dorian O’ Daniel (16), WR Marcus Kemp (16) and RB Damien Williams (16); Williams had the punt block in the game.

For the second straight week the Bears have an opponent that they should beat Youth Allen Robinson II Jersey , which is a dangerous thing. The Bears were supposed to beat the Miami Dolphins, especially when it was announced that the Dolphins would be starting Brock Osweiler. The Bears were supposed to beat the Arizona Cardinals. They went down 14-0 before fighting back for a 16-14 win.Chicago has struggled with the games that they are supposed to win, especially on the road. The Bears travel to Buffalo Sunday as 10 point favorites, their biggest margin they’ve been favored since their 2006 Week 6 game against Arizona, when they were favored by 13 and won 24-23 without scoring an offensive touchdown.Chicago could use another win before heading into the heart of their division schedule and the games will get that much more intense and difficult. But Buffalo, despite all of their offensive shortcomings, are not going to roll over easily.Buffalo BillsSB Nation site: Buffalo RumblingsDay/Time/TV: Sunday, noon CST, FOXRecord: 2-6Last week: 25-6 loss on Monday Night Football at home to the Patriots. They hung around for three quarters before New England finally pulled away at the end. Bears all-time record against: 7-5Historical match ups: The Bears last win at Rich/Ralph Wilson/New Era Stadium was Oct. 7, 1979.The Bears had 61 rushing attempts (62 if you count Bob Avellini’s scramble) and just eight passing attempts. Walter Payton scored the only points of the game as the Bears won 7-0.Last meeting: A 23-20 OT loss in week one of the 2014 season. Jay Cutler threw two TDs and two INTs while EJ Manuel threw one and rushed for one. Offense: The Buffalo Bills come into the game ranked 31st in yards and 32nd in points. The Bills are most known for their ongoing quarterback struggles. They’ve started three QBs, with Nathan Peterman being ineffective, rookie Josh Allen struggling http://www.chicagobearsteamonline.com/kyle-long-jersey , then injured and then back to Peterman, then to Derek Anderson, until he was hurt,So now it’s back to Peterman. Bears fans have to feel for Bills fans because we know all too well that the QB carousel is no fun to watch.Peterman will be making his fourth start. This season he’s thrown for 108 yards, 1 touchdown and four interceptions. His completion percentage is 40.6. His adjusted net yards per attempt is negative. For his career Peterman has thrown three touchdowns, nine interceptions, a completion percentage of 45.7 for 360 yards. He is epically bad. For context, Craig Krenzel, in 2004, had a stat line of 46.5 percent completion/718 yards/3 TDs/6 INTs.The Bills passing game ranks dead last in yards and touchdown passes and has the second-most interceptions. The leading receivers for Bills are Zay Jones (25 rec./281 yds./1 TD), TE Chales Clay (19/169/0), Kelvin Benjamin (16/262/1) and the versatile LeSean McCoy (19/167/0).Buffalo’s rushing game ranks 23rd in yards but is 29th in yards per carry. Their leading rusher is McCoy (75 att./257 yds./0 TD). Behind him is Chris Ivory (73/244/1). The Bills’ rushing TD leader is actually QB Josh Allen (3) Authentic Jordan Howard Jersey , who is injured. The Bills have 18 turnovers, third most in the league.Defense: The Bills defense has been quite good, coming in ranked sixth in yards allowed, but 19th in points allowed. The disparity there may be a product of such a turnover prone offense giving opposing offenses short fields or just giving up points with pick sixes. The Bills passing defense is especially good, ranking sixth in passing yards allowed, while the rushing defense ranks 15th in yards allowed and 19th in touchdowns allowed.Up front, they are led by Jerry Hughes (4.5 sacks/6 TFL/11 QB hits), Lorenzo Alexander (4.5 sacks/5 TFL/5 QB hits) and Kyle Williams (3.5 sacks/4 TFL/7 QB hits). They may be down rookie Tremaine Edmunds (1 sack/3 TFL/7 PDs/2 FFs) but fellow LB Matt Milano (5 PDs/1 sack/ 7 TFL) looms. In the secondary, top players include safety Jordan Pryor (2 INTs/2 PDs/1 FF) and TreDavious White (5 PDs). LBs Alexander and Milano aren’t too bad in the pass area, noted by their one INT each and 5 PDs each.Injury report: The Bills listed six players on their Wednesday injury report:Did not participate: DT Kyle Williams (rest), LB Lorenzo Alexander (rest), QB Josh Allen (elbow) http://www.chicagobearsteamonline.com/kyle-fuller-jersey , QB Derek Anderson (concussion), LB Tremaine Edmunds (concussion) and DE Trent Murphy (knee)Key match ups: The Bears defense has another advantage this week over a bad offense. The corners need to play soundly, though and not give up a big play while going for a pick (a la Kyle Fuller last week). Peterman is simply not an NFL caliber QB and the Bills are in a tough spot, unless Anderson clears the protocol on a short week.Mitch Trubisky is likely going to have navigate some tight throwing windows against a stingy defense. The Bears may need to rely on Jordan Howard more this week.Khalil Mack may be out again so the Bears will once again try to generate pressure from Akiem Hicks,Leonard Floyd, Roy Robertson-Harris and Bilal Nichols. The biggest defensive match up is really against Shady McCoy. If the Bears can slow him down, then they will really be in the driver’s seat. What to watch for: This has the chance to be a big Bears victory. The Bears need to stack together wins as they head into three straight division games and really look to take control of the division and their own postseason destiny. Their October swoon is behind them, but November is when teams really need to hit their stride and play to their potential. Key stats: The Bills’ three passing TDs is the worst through eight games since 2009 when the Browns also had three and the Raiders had just two. The Bills have been outscored 62-11 in their last two games. The Bears haven’t won at Buffalo since 1979, they technically won on the road against Buffalo in 2010, but that game was played in Toronto, CanadaThe Bills only wins came in games they won the turnover margin, the Bears have only lost the turnover margin once this season (week one)The pick: I think the Bears win in a similar fashion to last week Womens Eric Kush Jersey , where it’s never really in doubt, but it doesn’t always look pretty and isn’t quite the margin of victory we all want. Bears 20, Bills 10. Click here to see my pick against the spread on Sports Bet Collective (I’m 5-2 on the season), it’s free when you sign up for an account. What do you think the Bears path to victory is Sunday? What’s your prediction? Just three more games remain in the 2018 season, and while I’m not totally invested due to the disappointing way the Chicago Bears bowed out of the playoffs, it’s still the National Football League. I’ll definitely be watching both games today and the Super Bowl in two weeks. Los Angeles Rams at New Orleans Saints - 2:05 pm (Central) on FOXI picked the Rams as my NFC Champ before the season started, then picked the Saints to win this game earlier this week. I honestly think this game could go either way. Drew Brees hasn’t looked like his usual self down the stretch, but he could get hot at any time. New England Patriots at Kansas City Chiefs - 5:40 pm (Central) on CBSI picked the Patriots earlier this week because I think they have a more complete team, and I think they’ll figure out a way to stymie Patrick Mahomes. Plus they have the whole “underdog” thing to rally around now. My personal preference for the Super Bowl would be Rams vs. Chiefs, but I don’t think that will happen.
Youth Mitchell Trubisky Jersey

2018 college prospect preview: Big 12 The college football season is around the corner Youth Tarik Cohen Jersey , which means that the next few months will be full of major upsets, nail-biting finishes, Cinderella teams, and flat-out entertaining football. They also serve as a time for NFL Draft nuts to find the best player in the upcoming draft class, discover a few hidden gems, and determine which prospects would be good fits on their favorite professional team. For the next couple of weeks, we’ll be going to be going from conference to conference, finding the best player, a potential Chicago Bears target and a sleeper to give you all a general idea of what to keep an eye on in the coming college football season. We did this concept last year and enjoyed doing it, so we decided to bring it back for another year. In this edition, I’m joined by our own Josh Sunderbruch as we look at what the Big 12 has to offer in terms of NFL prospects.Cream of the cropJacob: Denzel Mims, WR, BaylorWhat if I told you that the best NFL prospect in the Big 12 came from a team who finished 1-11?Although Will Grier is likely the highest player drafted from the conference, he’s not the top Big 12 player on my board. That distinction goes to Baylor wide receiver Denzel Mims, who finished the 2017 season with 61 catches, 1,087 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. He has all of the tools to be a top-end receiver in the NFL, despite not having a lot of hype around him.At 6-foot-3, 208 pounds, Mims has a long, yet muscular frame built for the NFL. He has a fantastic catch radius, due in part to his long arms and impressive leaping ability. The most impressive aspect of his game is how athletic he is for his size. A track and field star in high school, Mims accelerates off the ball with speed befitting of someone three inches and ten pounds his inferior. He has good straight line speed, fantastic body control, and good overall footwork on his routes. Although Mims is not a great yards-after-catch receiver and is fairly raw from a route running standpoint, the Baylor standout can potentially turn into a top-end X receiver at the next level.Given Chicago’s investment in the wide receiver position this past off-season, it is highly unlikely that they consider one early on in the draft. Nevertheless, Mims is an exciting prospect who should generate more buzz in draft circles in the coming months.Top Bears targetsJacob: Dalton Risner http://www.bearsfootballauthentics.com/bryce-callahan-jersey-authentic , OL, Kansas StateBobby Massie’s contract is up at the end of the 2018 season, and it appears likely that this season could be his last with the Bears. If they want to look for a replacement for him, then someone like Dalton Risner, who started on Kansas State’s offensive line alongside Cody Whitehair in 2015, could fit that bill.Admittedly, Risner might not play offensive tackle at the next level, as he could potentially move inside as a guard or a center. The three-time captain does project as a good offensive tackle prospect, though, which is likely what the Bears would see him as if they were to draft him.The 6-foot-5, 300-pound Risner is a powerful blocker that has a good anchor in his lower body. He excels at getting inside leverage on his defenders and playing with a balanced frame. He takes good angles on pull blocks and screens, and he consistently plays with great pad level. While not the most athletic offensive lineman in the world, Risner is a tough and strong player whose versatility could help him rise up draft boards.I currently project Risner as a second round pick, which is inconvenient for the Bears, since they lack a second rounder in 2019 due to the Anthony Miller trade. However, if the team does well and Risner shows off more lateral quickness, then the two would be a good match in the back half of the first round.Josh: Breckyn Hager, OLB, TexasHager is over 250 pounds and has a 38-inch vertical. That’s not “jump out of a pool” stuff, but the man was named one of college football’s most freakish athletes. He’s explosive, powerful, and he turns a corner well on pass rushes. I have seen him with third and fourth round grades. I’ll admit that most of Hager’s best film comes from 2016, since he had a dip in production in 2017. In all honesty, even if there are reasons for that outside of Hager himself, it’s concerning when someone becomes less productive as they develop. However, I still think Hager is the kind of player Ryan Pace is going to want to target, especially since his father, Britt Youth Mitchell Trubisky Jersey , played nine years in the NFL. In this case, if Hager does fall, another Pace project might be a steal. He has a relentless drive to get to the quarterback, and even if he’s only a situational pass-rusher as an outside linebacker (one of the knocks against him), that’s an area the Bears could use help. A mid-round talent with a knack for turning the corner sounds like something Chicago likely needs next year just as much as they are missing it this year.Late-round sleepersJacob: Dakota Allen, LB, Texas TechThe Bears are in good hands at the inside linebacker position with Roquan Smith and Danny Trevathan as the starters, and Nick Kwiatkoski and Joel Iyiegbuniwe as solid depth. However, Chicago could be in a position to truly draft the best player available in later rounds this year, regardless of need. That player could someone like Texas Tech linebacker Dakota Allen. The Bears don’t typically draft players with questionable pasts: Allen was kicked off of Texas Tech after being arrested for robbery in his freshman year. But he seems to have put his past behind him on all accounts. The 6-foot-1, 235 pound linebacker stood out at East Mississippi Community College in 2016 and was a focal point of the ‘Last Chance U’ documentary series that season. He then returned to Texas Tech and totaled 101 tackles, two interceptions, and two sacks.Allen is a consistent tackler who takes good angles to defenders in space. He has good closing speed, good acceleration off the snap when blitzing up the A or B gaps, and is a fluid mover in space. He’s great at working off of blocks to make plays against the run, and often jumps on top of gang tackles to further ensure that his teammates bring the ballcarrier down. Allen is not polished from an instincts standpoint, and one would figure that he could play at a much higher speed with more efficiency if he had better pre-snap awareness. However, he seems to be a prime candidate to stand out as a special teamer early on in his career before possibly settling into a starting role with experience under his belt.As previously mentioned, the Bears don’t need an inside linebacker, so the selection of Allen could be unlikely even without mentioning his off-the-field track record. He’s a high-upside developmental player, though, and he figures to be a solid late-round draft pick wherever he’s drafted.Josh: Rodney Anderson, RB, OklahomaThis one comes with an asterisk or two. Some boards I’ve seen suggest that Anderson is taken in the first round, and they consider him the second best running back in the draft. Obviously, that would not make him a late-round sleeper. However, other boards have Anderson out of the top 100. Why? When he’s healthy, the 6-foot-1 Womens Trey Burton Jersey , 219-pound Anderson plays the position extraordinarily well. However, that’s an important qualifier, because his health has not been exceptional. His running style also subjects him to punishment, exacerbating that issue.Anderson also has significant character red flags. As Jacob points out, the Bears normally stay away from those concerns, and Pace has been cautious since his first couple of months in Chicago with Ray McDonald. However, it’s hard to tell how things look in 2019, and regardless of how some feel about it, the Bears could end up pushing boundaries they would normally steer clear of.On the other side of things, Anderson is a dual-threat back with the ability to play as a receiving weapon as well as a runner. He does not shy away from contact either. If Anderson’s 2018 campaign is shaky and the health concerns re-emerge, then he might slide. Pace has shown himself willing an interested in taking running backs often in the draft, and he doesn’t shy away from an injury history. If, and only if, Anderson comes out and then slides, do I think the Bears could pull the trigger. However, it’ll be interesting to see which Anderson plays in 2018. In that case, it’ll also be interesting to see if Pace maintains his standards regarding the types of players he targets and their character.Jacob Infante is a Chicago Bears and NFL Draft writer at SB Nation’s Windy City Gridiron. He also covers the NFL Draft for USA Today SMG’s Draft Wire. He can be reached through Twitter @jacobinfante24 or emailed at jacobinfante1208@gmail.com. Linebacker Dont'a Hightower typically isn’t part of the punt return team for the Patriots, but special teams coach Joe Judge saw something in his preparations for Sunday’s game against the Bears that made him have Hightower in the game for a punt in the third quarter. The move paid off handsomely for the Patriots. Hightower steamrolled Bears tight end Ben Braunecker and smothered Pat O'Donnell‘s punt just after it came off his foot. Kyle Van Noy recovered and returned the ball for a touchdown that broke a tie on the way to a 38-31 Patriots win.Patriots head coach Bill Belichick didn’t want to talk about the specific reason why the team went with Hightower, who had never blocked a punt at any level of football.鈥淚t’s been a while, but the more you can do,” Hightower said, via NESN.com. “I don’t mind stuff like that, especially when it’s able to be a big play or be able to change the course of the game. … That just goes to show that the coaches know what they’re doing and know what they’re talking about it. As long as we’re able to get that game plan and go out and execute, good things will happen.”The Patriots also got a touchdown from Cordarrelle Patterson on a kickoff return, so special teams played a big role in Sunday’s win in more ways than one.

If you were looking for in-depth film breakdown Authentic Braden Smith Jersey , or one of my opponent scouting reports, or even a Colts-centric article, you’ve arrived at the wrong article. Welcome to the weekly conspiracy report where I, Chris Shepherd, will examine nefarious plots around the league and expose them for what they are. Now sure, I won’t be able to provide you any “proof” and no, I don’t have any sources (that you know of). What follows should be treated purely as entertainment that includes plausible (and not so plausible) scenarios that no one employed by NFL teams would ever admit to and I accept no responsibility for anything you do with the information I’m about to give you. In fact I accept no responsibility for anything you’re about to read here.In this week eight expos茅 of NFL conspiratorial glory, we’re going to take a look at Andy Reid and his obvious involvement with the mafia. The Chiefs were an unknown coming into the year, here in Kansas City everyone was excited about the prospects of second year quarterback Patrick Mahomes but the rest of the NFL world was less sure he or the Chiefs would succeed. Andy Reid has been around the NFL for a long, long time. Long enough to be able to recognize special ability when he sees it, and when Las Vegas set its preseason odds, they couldn’t have possibly known what Andy Reid knew. Andy Reid knew how good Mahomes was and he probably had a pretty good idea his Chiefs were going to score a lot of points. After all, Tyreek Hill, Kareem Hunt, Travis Kelce combined with what Reid was seeing from his quarterback and high scoring games must have been a given in the mind of the Chiefs head coach. The theory goes something like this; Andy Reid, knowing he had a team that could score a lot of points was approached by leaders of an organized crime organization based in the Kansas City area. Reid may not have known who he was getting into business with in the beginning but his recent actions make it clear Andy Reid is aware of and calling games based on the over/under. If you’re not familiar with what I mean when I say over/under click here.Weeks one through three no one was sure what to expect out of the Chiefs. After week one, it was impressive but it couldn’t continue, right? Week two, okay they’ve done it twice now but Mahomes can’t be this good this early, right? Week three, fine, these guys might actually be really good and all three weeks the Chiefs blew the over/under out of the water. This brings us to week four. Each of the first three weeks the Chiefs had won convincingly and all of a sudden a Broncos team, who will probably fire their head coach soon, give the Chiefs a competitive game? Hey Youth Malik Hooker Jersey , any given Sunday, right? Also for the first time during the 2018 NFL season the Chiefs and their opponent failed to surpass the over/under line. But again, anything can happen. Week five came and I believe this was a mistake that ended up being unavoidable for Andy Reid. He never could have guessed that Blake Bortles would have played as poorly as he did, nor did he know that the Jaguars defense wouldn’t fall apart for a few more weeks. Week five the Chiefs failed to surpass the over/under and if you happened to bet the over, it cost you a lot of money, especially if you believed it was a sure thing. Week six took the Chiefs to Boston to face the Patriots and the two teams combined for 83 points, far surpassing the over/under set for the game. The Chiefs lost but it was clear they didn’t give the game away, they just got beat. But the most important thing to come from this game were the 83 points scored on prime time. Those 83 points were enough to make the O/U line for the Chiefs week seven contest 56.5 points. Which presented an interesting opportunity for anyone who may have had access to Andy Reid, especially someone who lost a substantial amount of money in the week five disaster against the Jags. Before week seven Andy Reid had yet to take his foot off the gas. His team scored points if possible and if you didn’t like it, tough. But with nearly five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, leading 45 to 10, the Chiefs faced a 4th and 4 from their opponents five yard line and instead of kicking the field goal, Reid chose to call a run that had no chance to pick up a first down or score a touchdown. Why would he do that? Was he being a good sport? Maybe but that would mean it was a coincidence that the two teams had combined for 55 points and the O/U was set at 56.5, and no adult should believe in coincidence. The only thing that makes sense is that someone is influencing Andy Reid and the only “someone” that has that kind of reach, that kind of power is the mafia. I know I’ve given you some doozies in the past, but I don’t mention any mafioso involvement without giving the various organizations who may be involved the upmost respect. Sure, I’ll take shots at the CIA all day but one look at Luciano Leggio’s Wikipedia page and I’ll have nothing but nice things to say about anyone who happens to be from Corleone, Italy. So because we all know (after reading about their exploits) that the Italian mafia is a myth we’re left trying to figure out which group may be pulling the strings. Is it a Mexican cartel? The Russian mafia? The Yakuza? We know no one in Italy is participating in organized crime but the American Italian mafia, maybe? If you dig much into the various crime families around the United States you’ll find that officially the Kansas City mob isn’t active. Which is exactly what the Kansas City mob would want you to believe. Further the only people who even thought there was a chance Mahomes would be as good as he has been, live in Kansas City. So how would Andy Reid and members of the Kansas City mob have met in the first place? I think it’s safe to assume that Andy Reid really likes Italian food and probably frequents a few different restaurants and maybe one of them happen to be operated by someone with some connections. This is a man who enjoys too much pasta:Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY SportsOne thing leads to another and before he knows it, Andy Reid is feeding insider information and playing ball with the Kansas City mob in exchange for some free arancini con rag霉 and suddenly the mob has a new revenue stream betting (stealing, really) the over/under. Things were going well, Reid even made sure to keep the score down in week four (probably in exchange for an insane amount of prosciutto), but then week five happened and no one http://www.coltsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-rigoberto-sanchez-jersey , not even Reid could have predicted that. After that game things seemed to change. No one could possibly know the specifics but week seven came and Andy Reid’s actions absolutely suggest he was coaching scared. Possibly scared for his life. He needed to win, but he needed to make sure he hit the under. To Andy Reid if you’re reading this (he’s not guys don’t worry) if you need out, we can get you and your loved ones into wittiness protection, just let us know by looking directly into the camera on Sunday and blinking, hard, three times. *Once again, please note this article is purely meant for entertainment and the conversation it can create. Chris Shepherd may or may not actually believe anything above. By looking at current events through alternative viewpoints we hope to come away with a better understanding of what we’re seeing by considering something we’ve never considered.

The Chiefs listed safety Eric Berry as doubtful for the first 10 games of the regular season while he was sidelined by a heel injury that kept him from practicing or playing.Berry has been on the practice field the last couple of weeks Womens Eric Murray Jersey , which changed his listing to questionable but didn’t lead to him playing against the Raiders or Ravens. A report over the weekend indicated that he’d take the final step back to the lineup against the Chargers this Thursday, but head coach Andy Reid said on Monday, via Nate Taylor of , that nothing is definite.Reid would only say “there’s a chance” that Berry will play his first game since Week One of the 2017 season this week. Reid added that he knows Berry wants to get out there.Berry’s absence hasn’t really held the Chiefs back as they’ve clinched a playoff spot and are on track for the top seed in the conference. That probably doesn’t make anyone in Kansas City any less eager to see if Berry can regain his past form over what’s left of this season. KANSAS CITY, Mo. 鈥?In a jubilant locker room deep within Arrowhead Stadium, an impeccably dressed young man who looked as if he’d stepped out of a college classroom greeted Chiefs wide receiver Sammy Watkins with a brilliant smile and an enthusiastic high-five.Watkins had just had another standout performance in another Chiefs win, and Brett Veach no doubt felt a bit of satisfaction that his much-panned free-agent acquisition was paying such dividends. Then again, just about everything the Chiefs’ general manager does these days turns out all right. His draft picks are thriving. His free-agent pickups have worked out brilliantly. And his myriad moves to cultivate depth and competition throughout the roster have allowed the Chiefs to deal with significant injuries while racing to an 8-1 start and take a stranglehold on the AFC West.“Brett is very, very thorough and always prepared for whatever the scenario is Womens Kendall Fuller Jersey , whether it’s the draft or free agency or just working the roster on a week-to-week basis,” Chiefs owner Clark Hunt said recently. “He and Andy (Reid) work well together, and that’s an important part of the equation.”Indeed, when Reid was hired as the Chiefs’ coach, it was with the understanding that he would no longer handle the GM duties that bogged him down in Philadelphia. So, Hunt hired John Dorsey away from the聽Green Bay front office, and one of his top lieutenants was Veach, one of Reid’s prot茅g茅s from Philly.Veach had joined him there when he was not yet 30, the former Delaware standout taking an entry-level job on Reid’s staff. But he quickly impressed everyone in the organization with his detail http://www.thechiefsfootballauthentic.com/mitchell-schwartz-jersey-authentic , work ethic and acumen, and he rose through the ranks before joining the front office in Kansas City. When the decision came last summer to part with Dorsey, Veach was a somewhat unexpected choice. But despite taking the reins on the eve of training camp, he nevertheless put his fingerprints on a roster that would win the division title. He traded for former first-round draft pick Cam Ervin, who now starts on the offensive line, and for Reggie Ragland, who now starts at linebacker. He made a series of moves deeper down the depth chart, too, seemingly never taking a break.Veach continued to make aggressive roster moves after the season http://www.thechiefsfootballauthentic.com/ron-parker-jersey-authentic , dealing away quarterback Alex Smith for cornerback Kendall Fuller and a draft pick and turning the job over to Patrick Mahomes. The moves have paid off in every way possible: Mahomes is off to a record-setting start to his career, the Chiefs created some much-needed salary-cap space, Fuller has been their best cornerback and the third-round pick they acquired has turned into more help for their rebuilt defense.Yes, even Veach’s draft picks have paid off.He was without a first-round selection in April because of the trade to select Mahomes last year, but he nevertheless moved adroitly around the draft board to acquire players he liked.Second-round pick Breeland Speaks has started at outside linebacker with Justin Houston hurt, and defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi and linebacker Dorian O’Daniel have been regulars as third-round picks. Safety Armani Watts was pushing for a starting job before landing on injured reserve earlier this year, and sixth-round pick Tremon Smith has been a special teams standout.“Going back to last year,” Hunt said, “I was impressed with the short amount of time that he had to make some changes going into the 2017 season that ultimately really had an impact. That wasn’t something I was expecting. And Brett’s now had a full offseason Womens Terrance Smith Jersey , a draft and free agency, and he’s made a lot of moves, and I think we’re seeing the fruit of his labor this year.”It’s not just the moves Veach has made, either. He’s also shown patience to stand pat when nothing suits his liking, such as he did when the trade deadline passed without a peep.“He’s not going to do something just to do it to appease. He’s going to do what’s best for the Chiefs, and he’s really good about that,” Reid said. “That’s just where he’s at.”So far, his best has been nearly perfect.100View Gallery Gallery:View from the sidelines: NFL cheerleaders 2018Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports | Raj Mehta

Before they try to become the ninth team to repeat as Super Bowl champions Youth Deonte Thompson Jersey , the Philadelphia Eagles will try to accomplish another tough task.Winning consecutive NFC East titles is so difficult it hasn't happened since the Eagles did it four straight seasons from 2001-04. It's also been 13 years since the New England Patriots were the most recent team to win back-to-back championships. On paper, the Eagles are deeper and stronger than the squad that beat Bill Belichick, Tom Brady and the Patriots 41-33 in February. Franchise quarterback Carson Wentz, nine-time Pro Bowl left tackle Jason Peters, playmaking linebacker Jordan Hicks and versatile running back Darren Sproles are returning from injuries that forced them to miss the playoffs. They also have several new additions, including veteran defensive linemen Michael Bennett and Haloti Ngata, and rookie tight end Dallas Goedert. But the favorites don't always come out on top and the road won't be easy for the Eagles in a competitive division."Our goal every year is to win the Super Bowl. I can't tell you how terrifically positioned I think we are," Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie said. "It's a tough, tough league. I don't think I've ever been more fired up for a season than we're about to undertake, but with a realization that we're also in the NFC. I compare it to the NBA West. There are many, many teams entering this season that I think can be in the Super Bowl. We have to try to collaborate and grind."Standing in Philadelphia's way will be two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning and the revamped New York Giants, who added running back Saquon Barkley with the No. 2 overall pick in the draft. The Dallas Cowboys expect to have Ezekiel Elliott for a full season and are looking for Dak Prescott to return to his rookie form after a so-so second season. The Washington Redskins acquired a winning quarterback, Alex Smith Womens Zack Martin Jersey , to lead the way.Things to know about the NFC East:DOMINANT D: Wentz and a high-powered offense that won the Super Bowl with backup quarterback Nick Foles get much of the attention in Philly, but Jim Schwartz's defense was dominant last season and should be even better. The front four led by Fletcher Cox and Brandon Graham is so deep that Bennett, Ngata and Chris Long are rotational players instead of starters. The Eagles also have plenty of depth in the secondary with Pro Bowl safety Malcolm Jenkins and cornerbacks Ronald Darby, Jalen Mills and Sidney Jones. If Hicks stays healthy, this unit should dominate again and make it easier for the offense, which may be missing Wentz for a few games.OLD MAN ELI: Manning may be the oldest player on the Giants, but he has a new offense-minded head coach — Pat Shurmur — and a talented cast of skill players to make his job easier. Barkley bolsters the running attack and gives the offense more balance. He joins star receiver Odell Beckham Jr., Sterling Shepard and tight end Evan Engram. A defense that was stellar two years ago still has talent with safety Landon Collins, cornerback Janoris Jenkins, run stuffer Damon Harrison and end Olivier Vernon. If the offense lives up to expectations and the defense returns to form, the Giants could battle for the division.DEPLETED COWBOYS: Jason Witten retired and Dez Bryant was released, leaving Prescott with fewer weapons. The career of 2016 All-Pro center Travis Frederick is uncertain because of an auto-immune condition, and four-time Pro Bowl guard Zack Martin injured his knee in the preseason Womens Cole Beasley Jersey , though it appears he'll be ready for Week 1. Elliott's success depends on an offensive line that's the best in the business when healthy. Meanwhile, the defense relies on linebacker Sean Lee. With him, they're solid, but he has a history of injuries. There's enough talent in Dallas for the Cowboys to stay in the mix.ALL ABOUT Ws: Smith is a winner wherever he goes. He was 69-31-1 as a starter for the 49ers and Chiefs since 2011, but only 2-5 in the playoffs. Kirk Cousins put up prolific numbers, but was 26-30-1 with a loss in his only playoff start. Losing rookie running back Derrius Guice hurt an offense lacking talent at the skill spots. Adrian Peterson is nearing the end of his career but has a shot to be a featured back once again. The Redskins will be tough on opponents but don't have enough pieces to contend.PREDICTED ORDER OF FINISH: Eagles, Giants, Cowboys, Redskins. Jason Garrett decided to trust his defense by punting on a short fourth down in Houston territory in an overtime loss to the Texans. The choice by the Dallas coach also said a lot about a sputtering offense that simply hasn't looked good enough to get the Cowboys where they want to go in 2018, even with NFL rushing leader Ezekiel Elliott.Moments after Elliott was stuffed on third-and-1 from the Texans 42 closing in on the halfway mark of the 10-minute extra period, Garrett opted not to try it again on a night that his best offensive player was averaging just 2.7 yards per carry.DeAndre Hopkins' spectacular 49-yard catch and run to set up Ka'imi Fairbairn's 36-yard field goal in a 19-16 Texans win sparked a steady round of second-guessing for a coach already fending off questions about a bland offensive scheme with a bunch of receivers failing badly at trying to replace Dez Bryant. And it led to more questions about those receivers, with a sobering answer from executive vice president of player personnel Stephen Jones on his radio show Monday. The Cowboys (2-3) host Jacksonville (3-2) on Sunday."I don't think there's a lot you can do about it," Jones said on the possibility of personnel changes before once again rejecting the persistent question of whether the Cowboys would bring back Bryant Womens Tyron Smith Jersey , the franchise leader in touchdown catches who still hasn't signed elsewhere almost six months after his release. The Cowboys "really felt like we could with this group of receivers move the football," Jones said. "I still think we can. It's just a matter of continuing to work on working at it and getting in rhythm and executing and not getting behind the chains."Dak Prescott is having success throwing to Elliott out of the backfield along with Geoff Swaim, the primary replacement for Jason Witten so far at tight end. But the numbers for receivers have been meek more often than not this season.Take away Prescott's improbable scramble for a 44-yard heave to Tavon Austin, and Dallas receivers had five catches for 36 yards in Houston. It was the first time they combined for fewer than 100 yards (80).Dallas entered Monday 26th in the NFL with an average of 121 yards per game from receivers, and 30th in passing offense and points per game."We have to get better obviously," Garrett said. "At times this year, we have done a good job in the passing game. We have to be more consistent. We have to be more efficient. And we have to be able to continue to make those explosive plays if we want to score the points to win the games."Garrett thought the Dallas defense dominated the second half, which is why he chose to punt. Owner and general manager Jerry Jones thought the Cowboys were getting outplayed by then, and therefore second-guessed his coach while trying to say he wasn't. Essentially, Jones said there are times for risk, and that was one of them.Garrett, under heavy criticism along with offensive coordinator Scott Linehan over a unit that can't seem to do its part, says he feels he still has the support of Jones in his eighth full season Youth Anthony Brown Jersey , with just two playoff trips to show for it and a third looking shaky without much of a threat in the passing game."I don't think this is the time to get into critiquing any one person, whether it's the quarterback, whether it's the receivers, whether it's the coaches, whether it's the coordinator, the play-caller, the head coach," Stephen Jones said. "We've got a lot of things about this football team that we like."Right now, the passing game isn't one of them. Custom Washington Redskins Jerseys

Ten years after their first trip to London , Los Angeles Chargers veterans Phillip Rivers and Antonio Gates are keen to see how much the British audience has learned about the American version of football.

Rivers and Gates took part in the second regular-season game played at Wembley back in 2008, when the NFL was still a bit of a curiosity and large parts of the crowd didn’t quite understand the sport.“I remember like if it was yesterday,” Gates said. “The ball would be punted in the air and the crowd would be making noise. We were like, ‘what are you making noise about?’ But it was just their way. They’re used to watching soccer, and the chants and things of that nature. It was foreign to us, just like we were foreign to them.“And now I think over the years, they’ve learned to grasp a little bit more a better Isaac Rochell Color Rush Jersey concept of the game of American football. Most people understand it now here.”That was the goal behind the NFL’s decision to stage annual games in London — to grow the interest and understanding of the game overseas. When the Chargers (4-2) host the Tennessee Titans (3-3) at Wembley on Sunday, it will be the 23rd game played in London since 2007.“I’m interested to see again the atmosphere in the stadium,” Rivers said. “Last week, I hear it was an unbelievable crowd for Oakland and Seattle. I remember there being a great crowd 10 years. I just remember so many different jerseys from so many different teams represented. The energy was in there. A long pass, or a ball getting kicked, all those things got the crowd going pretty good.”The Chargers arrived in London on Friday morning after spending the week in Cleveland following a win over the Browns, a move aimed to shorten the trip and make it easier to adjust to the time difference. It also helped the players bond while spending that time together, coach Anthony Lynn said.“We did have a team-building activity and 100 percent participation. And I thought the guys liked it a lot,” Lynn said. “I left it up to my sports psychologists. The coaches get the hell out of the room and let the players talk and do their own thing. But everyone says it went really well.”The shorter flight didn’t completely help Rivers stave off the jet lag.“Today was one of those days where I don’t think anything could help. It got to the point where that third, fourth cup of coffee wasn’t working at all,” the quarterback said after finishing a training session in North London at 8 a.m. California time. “But it’s not bad. I think if we can push through and get to 8, 9 o’clock tonight, we should be OK.”Running back Melvin Gordon was limited in the practice session, but Lynn said it was mainly a precaution after the long trip.“He was just sore. Long plane ride. Probably didn’t drink enough water,” Lynn said. “We were being extra cautious with him.”For those European fans who have really studied the game since the Chargers’ last visit, Rivers did have some disappointing news. The Alabama native won’t be wearing his famous bolo tie after the game https://www.chargersfanstore.com , although he does plan on sporting his traditional cowboy boots.“I did not bring the bolo tie. I’ve got the cowboy boots,” Rivers said. “I always make sure to have those with me on game day. The same boots I probably wore here in 2008, I’ve had them for that long. They’re almost like slippers now.” The Los Angeles Chargers are on a roll with a three-game winning streak.Philip Rivers is determined to keep the momentum going, even with an overseas trip and a game in London looming.“The guys have been great and we know we’re in kind of a groove right now,” the 36-year-old quarterback said. “This is a different week, but our mindset is whatever you normally do, just do it. We want to keep this going.”The Chargers returned to the practice field Wednesday, brimming with confidence after their 38-14 victory over the Browns three days earlier. The decisive win raised their record to 4-2 and kept them one game behind AFC-leading Kansas City. The team remains in Cleveland and is training at suburban Baldwin Wallace University, hoping to maintain some normalcy before its Sunday game against the Tennessee Titans at Wembley Stadium in England.“We practiced today at the same time that we’ll play (6:30 a.m. Pacific time), so that should help our bodies get accustomed to the time change,” said Rivers, who has thrown 15 touchdowns and has the second-best passer rating in the NFL at 115.1.“As a player, Wednesday always feels like the start of the workweek 鈥?and we were all ready for it today. The challenge will be Thursday night to Friday morning with us flying all night to get to London.”Los Angeles linebacker Denzel Perryman joked that avoiding jetlag will be easy, saying, “If you get some sleep medicine, you’ll be all right.”The fourth-year pro turned serious when asked if the Chargers’ focus was where it should be, namely stopping Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota and running backs Derrick Henry and Dion Lewis.“It’s a different environment and different weather here, but we got some good work done today,” Perryman said. “We know Tennessee has got a lot of nice weapons and an explosive offense with a nice duo back there. And Mariota, he can run and pass, so he’s a difficult matchup. But we’ll be ready for them, no doubt.”The extended road trip has taken on special significance for Rivers Chargers Customized Color Rush Jerseys , who has only played in London once in 15 pro seasons. He threw a costly late interception in the Chargers’ 37-32 loss to New Orleans on Oct. 26, 2008.Rivers noted this will likely be his last game in England, given his age and the league’s rotation of all 32 franchises for international games.“It’s been 10 years, but shoot, I remember everything about it,” he said. “Staying right next to the stadium before the game, and every time the ball went in the air, there were oohs and aahs.“That was one of the first times the NFL had been to Wembley, so it’s a little more common now, but I’m sure we’ll see a lot of Chargers and Titans fans there supporting their favorite teams.”Making this trip even more important, a win would make Los Angeles 5-2 on the season, which Rivers has only experienced twice before in 2006 and 2014. The latter team faltered down the stretch and missed the playoffs. With Melvin Gordon now one of the top running backs in the league and standout defensive end Joey Bosa expected back in early November from a left foot injury, Rivers doesn’t want to let this opportunity slip away.“We’ve got a chance to get to 5-2 and we’ve got to do whatever it takes to get there,” he said. “If you had told us back in August we’d be in this position, we’d have taken it. We feel pretty good about ourselves right now.”NOTES: Chargers coach Anthony Lynn expects linebacker Jatavis Brown (groin) and kicker Caleb Sturgis (right quadriceps) to be game-time decisions. Michael Badgley made his NFL debut filling in for Sturgis against the Browns, making all five of his extra points and his lone field-goal attempt. … C Mike Pouncey (knee), WR Travis Benjamin (foot), TE Virgil Green (ribs), NT Damion Square (shoulder) were limited in practice, while Bosa and LB Kyzir White (knee) remain out.

At least one report that emerged in the hours before the NFL pulled the plug on playing the Chiefs-Rams game at Azteca Stadium in Mexico City characterized the league as being “determined” to play the game as scheduled.

That characterization was grossly optimistic https://www.ramsfanstore.com/Ethan-Westbrooks-Jersey , as best.Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Rams field inspectors and NFL game-day operations representatives “immediately” realized that the field would not meet the NFL’s standard for play. That realization came early enough to shift the game to L.A., but late enough to be an embarrassment to the NFL and an inconvenience to fans that had planned to travel to Mexico City for the game. Yes, the NFL did the right thing; based on the quality of the field, the NFL did the only thing it could have done.Moving forward, what can be done (what should be done) is that these assessments need to be made much sooner than the week before the game. Even though the league requires the home team for international contests to keep its home stadium available, shifting an international game back to domestic soil less than a week before kickoff isn’t a good look Torry Holt Jersey , and it gives fans who already view dimly the effort to export the top American sport another reason to grumble about the league’s ongoing obsession with globalizing football. 2nd QuarterBig 3rd down to start things off...and LB Cory Littleton tracks the run well to get the stop and force the field goal.Offense continues to look a mess.
We are about an hour away from kickoff in Philadelphia between the Minnesota Vikings and the Philadelphia Eagles.

This is a pretty significant game for both teams Kirk Cousins Color Rush Jersey , but it sure would be nice if the Vikings could find a way to pull this one out, wouldn’t it?Here is everything you need to know about today’s contest.Time: Sunday, 7 October, 3:25 PM Central timeLocation: Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, PennsylvaniaTelevision coverage: KSTP-9 in the Twin Cities, and FOX affiliates across the country that you can see on the maps right hereRadio coverage: Vikings Radio Network Anthony Barr Jersey , Sirius Channel 127, XM Channel 225 (PHI feed)Line: Philadelphia -3, over/under 48.5Prediction: Eagles 31, Vikings 27Three keys1) Try actually playing defense - The Minnesota defense has been getting torched up and down the field against pretty much every team they’ve played this season. There’s too much talent on this defense for them to continue to be this bad, so they need to figure out their issues and start stopping opposing offenses. If they get into a shootout with the Eagles, I’m not sure if they can keep up.2) Limit mistakes - The Vikings need to win the turnover battle this week to have any chance of winning. They were very good at taking care of the football in their win over San Francisco, and less so in every game since then. When you’re facing a team the quality of the Eagles Eric Kendricks Color Rush Jersey , there’s no reason to give them extra opportunities, so Kirk Cousins needs to continue making good decisions and everyone needs to ensure they hold on to the football.3) Keep your focus - I’m sure the Vikings have spent their week being reminded of the last time they played in this stadium. They’re still also dealing with one of their teammates fighting a significant issue. However, they need to do what they can to put all of that in the rear view mirror and concentrate on the task at hand. We can’t see the same sorts of lapses that have plagued this team the past couple of weeks if they want to win this game and turn their season around.Know the Foe: Bleeding Green NationTwitter: Right hereFaceBook: www.facebook.com/TheDailyNorsemanTweets by DailyNorseman As usual, we will have a new Open Thread at the start of each quarter, ladies and gentlemen, so keep your eyes peeled for that. In the Minnesota Vikings’ victory over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 6, running back Latavius Murray put up what was, by far, the best performance by a Minnesota running back this season. Now, he’s getting recognized for it.Murray is one of three nominees for the Week 6 FedEx Ground Award. He received this nomination after rushing for a career-high 155 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries in the Vikings’ 27-17 win.The competition that Murray is facing for the award is pretty significant, however. Also nominated this week are Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley (208 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Denver) and Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon (132 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Cleveland). The winner of the award will be announced on Thursday, and the winner will make a $2 Trae Waynes Color Rush Jersey ,000 donation in the winner’s name to the USO.If you want to cast your vote for Latavius Murray to win the FedEx Ground Award for Week 6, you can head over to NFL.com and cast your vote now!

The Bears might have linebacker Khalil Mack in the lineup on Sunday after listing him as questionable with an ankle injury, but the Patriots won’t have right tackle Marcus Cannon available to go against him or anyone else on the Chicago defense.

Cannon has been ruled out of Sunday’s game because of a concussion he suffered against the Chiefs https://www.patriotsfanstore.com/Rex-Burkhead-Jersey last weekend. LaAdrian Waddle stepped in for Cannon against Kansas City and seems likely to get the start against Chicago.Cannon is the only player who has been ruled out for the Patriots this week, but, as usual, they have a sizable contingent of players listed as questionable. Ten players fell into that category on the injury report. One of them is tight end Rob Gronkowski, which isn’t new as he’s been dealing with an ankle injury for several weeks. What is new (or a reminder of past ailments) is being listed with a back injury as well. Gronkowski was limited in Friday’s practice. The list of connections between the New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans is a fairly long one.And that shouldn’t serve as much of a surprise.Heading into Sunday’s 1 p.m. ET kickoff at Nissan Stadium, Titans general manager Jon Robinson’s coaching staff includes fellow names from Patriots past ranging from head coach Mike Vrabel, to defensive coordinator Dean Pees, to inside linebackers coach Tyrone McKenzie. Then there’s the Tennessee roster.Five members of the 53 in Nashville once resided in Foxborough, and there is a sixth if accounting for the Titans’ practice squad. Each of whom owns at least one Super Bowl ring from their respective Patriots tenures. Here’s a glance back through those tenures ahead of Week 10.TENNESSEEDion Lewis, running back – One of three futures signings announced by the Patriots on Dec. 31, 2014, Lewis hadn’t appeared in a game in two regular seasons. The 5-foot-8, 195-pounder by way of the University of Pittsburgh, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Cleveland Browns and briefly the Indianapolis Colts would go on to appear in 30 for New England. Lewis amassed 13 touchdowns and 2,109 yards from scrimmage on 378 offensive touches over that span – and ran a kickoff back for six as well. He tacked on another TD return in postseason play, along with ones both rushing and receiving. Lewis departed to Tennessee on a four-year, $19.8 million pact as free agency opened in March. He logged his second touchdown of the season on Monday night against the Dallas Cowboys.Josh Kline, guard – Originally entering the league in April 2013, Kline received $14,000 guaranteed from New England as an undrafted free agent. The guard via Kent State was waived at the 53-man cutdown that fall, yet remained in the fold on the practice squad James Harrison Jersey , riding up and down on the merry-go-round to finish his rookie season with seven games and one start under his belt. By the end of 2014, Kline had started an additional four games and played in a dozen. And by 2015, he found himself a full-time Patriots starter. Kline played 1,021 of a possible 1,022 offensive snaps for Tennessee in 2017. He’s started all 38 Titans contests he’s appeared in since being claimed off waivers in September 2016.Jamil Douglas, guard – With his fifth organization since arriving as a Miami Dolphins fourth-round pick in 2014, Douglas joined New England’s practice squad in October 2016 and remained there through Super Bowl LI. The Arizona State Sun Devil, who accrued 17 games and six starts while with Miami, re-upped with the Patriots on a futures contract after that campaign but was waived on Labor Day weekend of 2017. The Titans signed Douglas to the practice squad last month after the 26-year-old made stops with both the Atlanta Falcons and Colts.Darius Kilgo, defensive tackle – Kilgo has twice been part of preparations for the Patriots since the 2018 season began. The 6-foot-3, 319-pound defensive tackle, who signed a futures contract with the Houston Texans in January, was on the Texans’ practice squad for Week 1 and now finds himself on Tennessee’s active roster. A former Denver Broncos sixth-round draft choice out of Maryland, Kilgo was claimed off waivers by the Patriots in November 2016. He’d go between New England’s 53-man roster and scout team that year, and was waived following the 2017 preseason. Kilgo notched his first tackle of the year in Week 9.Malcolm Butler, cornerback – No SparkNotes version is needed when it comes to the former rookie-minicamp invite from West Alabama and Hinds Community College. Butler was a story from the 2014 preseason on through Super Bowl LII in February, and signed with Tennessee on a five-year deal worth $61.25 million a month later. “It seems like it all went so fast,” Butler said during his introductory Titans press conference. “It seems like I was just in New England on a two-day tryout yesterday. And it just all goes so fast. I’ve worked so hard for this.” Butler’s coverage has been charged with 618 yards and seven touchdowns this season, according to Pro Football FOcus, with two scores coming Monday opposite Dallas’ Amari Cooper and Allen Hurns.Logan Ryan, cornerback – The 2013 Patriots third-round pick out of Rutgers left for Tennessee on a three-year, $30 million pact in early 2017. Over the four years prior Cordarrelle Patterson Jersey , Ryan had checked into every game for New England and started a playoff-including 45 of them. The two-time Super Bowl champion finished his Patriots stay having amassed 243 tackles, 2.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, 41 pass deflections, 13 interceptions and a touchdown. Ryan, now 27, has started 23 games in the Titans’ secondary since then.NEW ENGLANDBrian Schwenke, guard – Schwenke, a member of the Titans’ 2013 draft class, started 30 of his 57 games for the team that selected him No. 107 overall. The interior lineman out of Cal joined the Colts after 2016, yet returned to the Titans following roster cutdowns. Schwenke later signed with the Patriots as training camp got underway this July. He was active for three games before being placed on injured reserve Tuesday.Jason McCourty, cornerback – A familiar face for reasons other than his eight years in Tennessee, McCourty’s NFL r茅sum茅 nevertheless began there. Drafted in the sixth round out of Rutgers back in 2009, McCourty went on to tally 90 starts, 496 tackles, one sack, six forced fumbles and 13 interceptions as a Titan. The longtime captain was released prior to 2017, and was acquired by New England from the Cleveland Browns in a swap of late-rounders this spring. McCourty has since started each of the last seven games alongside his identical twin, Devin, in the Patriots’ defensive backfield.

Monday Night Football - Week 5Washington Redskins (2-1) at New Orleans Saints (3-1)

He needs to pass for over 201 yards tonight to make NFL history in front of the home crowd.Another huge story for the Saints is the return of Mark Ingram to the team following his four game suspension. It will be good to have #22 back on the field and he will certainly be excited to be back as well. The Saints have had their struggles against the Redskins in the Payton/Brees era though Bobby Hebert Jersey , as New Orleans has posted a 2-4 record against Washington during this timeframe. The Saints offense fared well in the first four weeks of the season and they’ll be getting a piece back in the lineup as they try to keep it going in the second quarter of the season.Running back Mark Ingram is back after serving a four-game suspension to open the season and that restores the backfield tandem that the Saints rode to great success last season. Alvin Kamara remained productive with Ingram out of action, but head coach Sean Payton said that Ingram’s return will help keep “wear and tear” from catching up on him later in the season. After four weeks off Drew Brees Color Rush Jersey , Ingram doesn’t have any wear and tear and said Thursday that he’s raring to go.“I’m going to be excited, for sure,” Ingram said, via the team’s website. “I’ve had a lot of stuff pent up and built up and I’m ready to go. That’s what I’m trying to do.”Kamara saw nearly 23 touches a game over the first four weeks, which is a big jump from his workload as a rookie. That number will come down, but his success in the expanded role makes it seem likely that Ingram will also see a drop from the 18 touches he averaged last season.

In-Game UpdateDespite a dominant performance by Jacksonville Xavier Grimble Color Rush Jersey , they led only 9-0 heading into halftime, and the Steelers followed suit with their first possession of the third quarter. A three-and-out gave the Jaguars the ball back, but the Steelers’ defense led by T.J. Watt pushed Jacksonville back giving the offense their best field position of the game. James Conner moved the Steelers inside the red-zone for the first time of the game, but the result was more of the same — a Roethlisberger interception...again by Jalen Ramsey. It was Roethlisberger’s third interception of the game, and took points off the board when the team needed them the most. How did the Jaguars respond? Try with an 80 yard drive down the field which was highlighted by Bortles moving the ball through the air, and Fournette leaping into the endzone from the 4 yard line to give the Jaguars a 16-0 lead — which felt insurmountable for the dead Pittsburgh offense. With just under 2 minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter, Pittsburgh’s offense found life when Roethlisberger threw a 78 yard touchdown to Antonio Brown for the first touchdown of the game. Pittsburgh, down 16, chose to go for the two-point conversion, and failed making the score 16-6 with 1:17 left in the third quarter. The quarter would end with the Jaguars leading 16-6 and facing a 3rd and 11. The Pittsburgh Steelers and Carolina Panthers took part in a big prime time game at Heinz Field on Thursday Night Football, and the Steelers presented their loyal fan base a 52-21 whopping for their fifth straight win of the season.During the game, some perform well, while others fall short of the standard. This is where the Winners and Losers column comes in. After the game, when the dust settles, we decipher who falls into which category. As always, feel free to comment on the list in the comment section below. Be part of the conversation!WinnersBen RoethlisbergerStat Line: 22/25, 328 yards, 5 TDs, 0 INT https://www.steelerssportshop.com/Anthony-Chickillo-Jersey , 158.3 Passer RatingRoethlisberger lit up the scoreboard with a perfect passer rating. The fourth time he has done that in his career. Putting Roethlisberger on this list is easy, but I wonder how many points this team could have scored had he played the full game?Antonio BrownStat Line: 6 rec., 96 yards, 1 TD, 6 targetsEveryone was expecting a big game from Brown, and he delivered. On the day he was cited for a traffic violation, Brown put together a fine outing, catching every pass thrown his way — including a 53-yard bomb for a touchdown. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, Brown’s stats (receptions and yards) might be down this year, but as long as he is hitting pay dirt and the team is winning I don’t think he will be complaining much.JuJu Smith-SchusterStat Line: 3 rec., 90 yards, 1 TD, 1 rush, 13 yards, 5 targets Right when Steelers fans starting sweating after watching the Panthers drive down the field with ease and put up a TD, JuJu struck again. The first play from scrimmage set the tone for what comes next, more on that in a second, but remember when everyone said Smith-Schuster doesn’t have the speed to get deep? In his second year he has proven this is laughable.Vince WilliamsStat Line: 4 tackles James Conner Jersey , 3 solo, 1 sack, 1 INT, 1 Pass Defense, 1 QB Hit, 1 TFL, 1 TDWilliams looked bad on the opening drive. He looked as if he couldn’t hang with McCaffrey for a full game, and maybe he couldn’t, but it didn’t matter after Smith-Schuster struck on the first offensive play for the offense, and then Williams’ pick-six completely changed the game. Going from 7-0 to 7-14 in a blink of an eye is remarkable, and Williams had himself a night - very worthy of being in this category.Bud DupreeStat Line: 2 tackles, 2 solo, 1 sack, 2 TFL, 1 QB HitDon’t look now, but Dupree has been on this list for two straight weeks. Dare I say, he is starting to resemble an NFL pass rusher. Is he elite? No. He is about elite as Joe Flacco is elite, but he is becoming a threat. And that is just what the Steelers need out of Dupree. If the offense wants to put extra attention to Watt, it is up to Dupree to win his matchup — and he has been. He has notched 4.5 sacks so far this season Roosevelt Nix Color Rush Jersey , and is on pace to be on the verge of a double-digit sack total season. Bet you didn’t see that coming this year!Roosevelt NixStat Line: 2 receptions, 17 yards, 2 targets, 1 FFIn an effort to get some players on the list who aren’t normally here, Nix deserves a spot. His two receptions for 17 yards weren’t just fun to watch, but also helped move the chains on Pittsburgh drives. But what Nix brings to this team is so much more than fullback play. His special teams play, and his forced fumble on a kickoff, was the final nail in the coffin.Cameron HeywardStat Line: 3 tackles, 2 solo, 2 sacks, 2 TFL, 2 QB HitsSince the Steelers have altered their gap assignments for their defensive front, Heyward has been more of a plugger, and less of a dynamic playmaker. But on Thursday night we all were treated to some of the 2017 Heyward who registered double digit sacks. Heyward was dominant and did his part in collapsing the pocket and giving Cam Newton happy feet on more than on occasion.T.J. WattStat Line: 1 tackle, 1 solo, 1 sack, 1 TFL, 2 QB HitsWatt didn’t necessarily light up the stat sheet, but he was a force on the field. It was his pressure which forced Newton’s bad throw to Vince Williams. It was Watt who sent a message to Newton with a wicked hit to his throwing shoulder. Not every game is going to be for padding stats https://www.steelerssportshop.com/Chukwuma-Okorafor-Jersey , and Watt’s Week 10, while statistically mundane, was disruptive.Coaching StaffStat Line: 52 points, and a huge prime time win on a short weekKudos to Mike Tomlin, Keith Butler and Randy Fichtner. They all deserve a pat on the back after a tremendous game play on a short week. I can only imagine the hours spent from Sunday night till Thursday morning watching film, meeting with players, practicing and just overall prep on a short week. Oh, and the Steelers were only penalized ONCE in this game. 3rd Down UnitsStat Line: Offense: 8-10, Defense: 4-11More 3rd down dominance on both sides of the ball. This is an indicator of a team on the rise, and if they keep this up they will be tough to beat down the stretch.Red-Zone OffenseState Line: 4-for-4Remember when the knock on the Steelers was their poor red-zone numbers? Not anymore. After a perfect evening in the red area, it will be interesting to see where they rank come Week 11. My guess is at the top of the league, or very close to it.David DeCastro and Maurkice PounceyStat Line: The enforcersWhen Eric Reid hit Roethlisberger high while sliding, the enforcers stepped in to make sure Reid knew exactly what he did, and that it wasn’t acceptable. For a second I felt I was watching a hockey game when the team goes after someone for going after their superstars. They can be called enforcers on the ice, and I think it is safe to say the Panthers wanted no part of No. 66 or No. 53. I loved the response by the Steelers.LosersArtie BurnsStat Line: Garbage time play, still gets burntI don’t even know what to say about Artie Burns anymore. He doesn’t see the field outside of special teams until the fourth quarter, and while in the game gets burned and commits a horrible defensive pass interference call in the process (the Steelers’ only penalty of the night). Burns is in a bad place right now.

Not quite as bad as the Kansas City Chiefs, but bad enough to give the Denver Broncos (2-3) some hope if they can find a way to, well, get out of their own way.The mood around Broncos Country is one of despair and acceptance of losing. Losing is something we have all come to except in the Vance Joseph era and collectively we don’t think it will be much different this week with the Mile Brendan Langley Jersey High Report staff predicting a 37-21 home loss. Here is how we expect things to play out individually.Broncos 31, Rams 28Never give up, never surrender! That is my motto this week as I predict yet another Broncos win - which is something I have done every week this year. I feel like this is Joseph’s last chance to change the narrative of this season and get things back on track in a big way. Do I think it’s likely? Not really, but I have to go into each game hoping for the best - especially this early into a season. - Tim LynchRams 44, Broncos 2431-3 at halftime. Then Case Keenum is benched and Chad Kelly comes in to usher in a new era as our franchise quarterback. What will the final score be? Not a clue as I’m not sure if the Rams will call off the dogs and prevent defense their way home, or if Chad Kelly lights it up and keeps it within 3 scores. But I know at some point, it will be a 28+ point game. - Pete BaronRams 32, Broncos 17The Rams are going to want to make a statement against the Broncos on Sunday. Wade Phillips will have his defense fired up, and things could get ugly quick. As I mentioned on The MHR Radio Podcast, after three quarters the Rams will probably be up by enough to call off the dogs. The game will be over at 32-0 heading into the fourth, but Keenum will snag a few garbage time points in the fourth against the backups. 32-17 Rams. - Adam MalnatiRams 38, Broncos 21I think Lindsay and Royce go HAM against a weak Rams run D but the Broncos turn into the same pass happy outfit they’ve been so far as Jared Goff torches the secondary. Denver scores 21 but gives up more than 5 touchdowns. - Joe RowlesRams 51, Broncos 23I think its 51-23, Rams. That was the score of the Eagles game last year and this season is shaping up to look pretty close to last year’s season.I think Denver comes out with some energy, but succumbs to turnovers and their losing ways in the second half. - Jeff EssaryRams 34 https://www.broncosfanstore.com/Justin-Simmons-Jersey , Broncos 9Most seem to agree the weather is the only chance the Broncos have on Sunday. The Rams want to prove they have what it takes to win on the road in the cold and snow. Todd Gurley is going to absolutely shred the Broncos defense — think Bo Jackson on Tecmo Bowl — and the Rams D will own the line of scrimmage, thus taking away the only thing Denver does well on offense. At least Bill Musgrave won’t be surprised by the calls this week. Of course, Wade Phillips and the Rams will benefit from the Broncos not playing one of their better run-blocking offensive lineman. - Ian St. ClairGive us your score predictions in the comments section below. If you dare... Despite the Broncos record, and the optics at a glance, the Denver offense has shown improvement this year. There is an explosive component to this offense that hasn’t been there in years past.Denver has also finally found a consistent running game. After three years of hearing “we want to establish the run” or “we want to lean on the running game” from the various coaching staffs, the fans are actually seeing the product on the field. The Broncos rank 3rd in the league in total rushing yards, and 1st in the league in yards per attempt. However, it’s the passing game that while it produces some explosive plays, just cannot get things done when it counts.“3rd down and red zone”I probably bring up this quote at least once a month during the NFL season, because I love it so much. David Shaw, head coach at Stanford is one of my favorite coaches and he described quarterback play in the NFL as 3rd down and red zone. That’s what sets the greats apart from the “stat stuffers” or “fantasy quarterbacks”. Sure it’s fun to rack up yards between the 20s on 1st and 2nd down, but where quarterbacks make their money is in those critical spots for their team.3rd DownSo how has Denver’s passing offense fared on 3rd downs? First of all, it’s critical to understand the importance of a passing offense in this spot and why the quarterback must be effective on 3rd downs. If you have a strong running game like Denver has, is there as big a need for the quarterback and passing offense to shoulder the load on 3rd down?In short, yes. In today’s NFL, 3rd down is essentially the quarterback’s down. Out of the 3,129 3rd down plays across the league so far this year, only 21% have been runs. That is because the league average for yards to gain on 3rd down is 7.1 yards (Denver is right at league average). Of the times teams have run the ball on 3rd downs Domata Peko Color Rush Jersey , 50% of those runs have come when the offense had less than six yards to gain. So when offenses have less than six yards to gain, it’s about a 50/50 split whether they run or pass on 3rd downs. Thus, offenses are passing the ball 80% of the time on 3rd downs. So, if you want to convert and be efficient on offense, you’re quarterback has to at least show up on 3rd down.Unfortunately, this is precisely where Denver has failed in the passing game.Case Keenum currently ranks 31st in the league at converting on 3rd downs at a paltry 22.5%. Additionally, Denver ranks 7th in the league on sacks given up on 3rd down with 12. In a future post, I’ll be breaking down each of those sacks to look at who’s to blame - the offensive line, or the quarterback, so more to come on this.At first glance, when looking at raw stats like completion % or QB rating, Keenum’s performance doesn’t necessarily dip that much when it gets to 3rd down. Which is why it is important to look at more telling metrics like success rate and yards per attempt that take into account the context of the situation. For instance, when passing on 3rd down, Denver has averaged around 8 yards to gain for a first down. Compare that to Case Keenum’s average yards per attempt on 3rd downs, at 5.6, and it becomes clearer that while he may be completing passes, they are falling short of the needed yardage. In fact, Keenum’s Y/A on 3rd down drops nearly three yards per attempt from his first down Y/A. This leads to Denver being one of the worst teams in the league at not only converting on 3rd down Demarcus Walker Jersey , but on gap between yards needed versus yards actually gained.I broke this down in a handy chart.3rd Down DifferentialTmGamesPlaysYardsToGoYds GainedDifferentialRank1st%TmGamesPlaysYardsToGoYds GainedDifferentialRank1st%(here is a more mobile friendly chart)As you can see, Denver is 28th in the league at closing the gap between the needed yards on 3rd down, and actual yards gained. On average, Denver’s passing game is four yards short of their needed yardage on 3rd downs, with the league average being around two yards. This is why regardless of how effective your running game is, the quarterback and passing game is critical to the success of the offense as a whole - and Denver hasn’t just been not good in this area, they have been downright bad.Red ZoneThe second critical area for an offense is finishing when in scoring range. This is where things begin to really look ugly for Case Keenum.Keenum’s QB rating drops nearly 40 points when inside the red zone, and his completion percentage drops over 20%.This is even more of a startling drop off considering Case Keenum was a top five quarterback in the red zone last year. I mentioned this a little bit last week while on Orange and Blue 760. Case Keenum threw 15 touchdowns last year in the red zone with zero interceptions, and six of those went to Kyle Rudolph. Another deep dive I will be doing in the future is a look at Keenum this year in the red zone, so stay tuned, but not having a go-to guy down in the red zone has clearly been an issue for Keenum and Denver’s offense. When looking at the numbers like this, it is easy to see why Denver has struggled so much this year, and why fans are not happy with the quarterback play. This is just the start of a series of posts on this topic, but it begins to paint a picture of just how bad the passing offense has been in key situations. You just can’t win in the NFL with this kind of play. If the Denver Broncos want to improve their fortunes this year or next, this has to be where they start.

The 2018 Green Bay Packers reboot has been a bit of rollercoaster ride through six games.

At 3-2-1 Los Angeles Rams Hats , the Packers success is still largely defined by their All-Galaxy signal caller Aaron Rodgers; but led by their new defensive coordinator Mike Pettine, the Packers’ defense has also been vastly improved. After successful stints with the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills, Pettine currently has the Packers defense ranked 8th in yardage allowed and 15th in points allowed. Their improvement has been most pronounced when defending the pass, where the Packers have recently invested some high-end draft stock. This week Jared Goff will have to navigate around safety Clinton Dix, who has bounced back from a lackluster 2017 season; as well as emerging corner Kevin King. In the trenches, the Packers have had issues stopping ball carriers, despite having a fairly tough three up front in nose tackle Kenny Clark, and defensive ends Dean Lowry, and Mike Daniels. They are without former Pro Bowler Muhammad Wilkerson, who suffered a season-ending ankle injury back a in Week 3 loss to the Washington Redskins. Inside linebacker Blake Martinez has provided the Packers’ defense with quality play against both the run and pass this season. The Packers biggest issue has been a lack pressure from their edge rushers Clay Matthews and Nick Perry. If the Rams can keep Jared Goff clean, and Todd Gurley is able to enjoy the success that other teams have had against the Packers on the ground, then the Rams could end up putting up mounds of points again. Despite having one of the best, and most clutch quarterbacks of all time, the Packers’ offense is currently ranked only 16th in scoring Los Angeles Rams Womens Hoodie , despite being 4th in yardage. Rodgers has had a statistically solid season with 12 touchdowns, 1 interception, and nearly 2,000 yards so far. However, much of those stats have come with Rodgers trying to scrape back when the Packers have fallen behind by massive deficits. Rodgers heroics have added to his legend, but the comeback formula is not head coach Mike McCarthy’s ideal formula for sustainable success. At times, Rodgers has been critical of the offense as a whole and even criticized the play calling following the Packers’ Week 5 loss to the Detroit Lions. The Packers will hope their very-capable offensive line can buy Rodgers enough time to find his favorite targets, wide receiver Davante Adams, and tight end Jimmy Graham. Given the issues that the Rams have had against tight ends like the Jared Cook, and George Kittle, Graham will have Rams defensive coordinator Wade Phillips full attention this week. Pro Bowl left tackle David Bakhtiari could be a tough nut to crack for Rams edge Samson Ebukam, but containment could be critical for the Rams, as their tsunami of interior pressure will likely flush Rodgers from the pocket frequently. If the Rams allow him to drift around for several seconds, Rodgers will usually find a target Womens Customized Los Angeles Rams Jerseys , or take the consolation prize and scramble for a gain. The Packers ground game hasn’t been especially noteworthy so far. They rely on a pair of second-year running backs Jamaal Williams and Aaron Jones to carry the bulk of the load, as well as veteran Ty Montgomery who is their best pass-catching back. This game could go a variety of ways, but the Rams would be best served to not let Rodgers and the Packers hang around within striking distance. If the Rams offense can control the clock and their defense can eliminate the Packers running backs early, then the Rams could end up dictating the pace and flow of this game. Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay is hopeful wide receivers Brandin Cooks and Cooper Kupp will pass the league's concussion protocol and be available to play at the Denver Broncos on Sunday, but he also knows he has solid contingency plans if they're sidelined.McVay said Monday that Cooks and Kupp did not display any concussion symptoms the day after both were hurt in a 33-31 comeback win at Seattle."We're hopeful to get good positive results with how Cooper and Brandin come back, and if we get them back, then we know that would be a big boost to our offense," McVay said.Cooks was evaluated for a concussion after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit from Seahawks safety Tedric Thompson late in the second quarter, a play McVay said he did not believe was made with any malicious intent.Kupp hit his head on the artificial turf at CenturyLink Field after making a catch later in the same drive. McVay said Kupp communicated his discomfort at halftime, which led to him being placed in the concussion protocol."And both of those guys, their symptoms, they didn't really have any symptoms a couple hours after the game. Brandin actually did a great job responding immediately, but you can never be too safe and too cautious with those kind of things. Those were the first two guys waiting for us when we got back into the locker room," McVay said.McVay was impressed with how reserve receivers Josh Reynolds and KhaDarel Hodge stepped in against the Seahawks.Reynolds had 22- and 17-yard receptions and ran for 10 yards on a jet sweep on three consecutive plays on the first possession of the second half Cooper Kupp Jersey Elite , a drive that ended with a short touchdown run by Todd Gurley.Hodge made his first career reception, a 14-yard catch in the fourth quarter, to start a drive that ended with Cairo Santos kicking the go-ahead field goal for the Rams (5-0).Reynolds, in his second season out of Texas A&M, and Hodge, an undrafted free agent from Prairie View A&M, were in those roles because of injuries to backup receivers Pharoh Cooper and Mike Thomas."It's tough because there was a lot of different things specifically that maybe we wanted to do, and to (wide receivers coach Eric) Yarber's credit and really to those players' credit, they did an excellent job stepping in on short notice," McVay said. "Didn't really get a whole lot of reps throughout the course of the week, and when their number was dialed they did a great job delivering."McVay said starting receiver Robert Woods was instrumental in allowing Los Angeles to continue to operate its base offense. Not only did Woods move into Kupp's position, it was his communication that helped the inexperienced Reynolds and Hodge process calls, routes and formations.Woods, who also took over returning punts with Kupp out Aaron Donald Jersey Elite , finished with five receptions for 92 yards and two carries for 53 yards. It was his third straight game with more than 100 yards from scrimmage."What he did for us yesterday, delivered every opportunity that he had whether it was running the football, whether it was catching it, and then you watch some of the key blocks he had at the point of attack, some of our touchdown runs, he was a guy that was very deserving of a game ball yesterday," McVay said.NOTES: CB Sam Shields sustained a shoulder injury against Seattle, but McVay said it was not serious. ... K Greg Zuerlein (groin) "hasn't had any setbacks," McVay said.
