The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to trade wide receiver Torrey Smith to the Carolina Panthers for cornerback Daryl Worley Authentic Saquon Barkley Jersey , according to two people familiar with the deal.

The trade reached on Friday won't be officially announced until the NFL's league year opens next Wednesday. The people spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to release the trade information.

Smith had 36 catches for 430 yards and two touchdowns while starting 14 games in his first season in Philadelphia. He'll earn $5 million this season so the move saves the Super Bowl champion Eagles much-needed space under the salary cap.

The team acquired three-time Pro Bowl defensive end Michael Bennett from the Seattle Seahawks on Wednesday.

Worley, a third-round pick in 2016, started 25 games in the past two seasons for the Panthers. He joins a crowded secondary.

An entrepreneurial Cincinnati Bengals cheerleader and her husband have teed off on a new way of getting around the city’s downtown: golf carts.

GEST Carts offers rides on weekend nights to attractions such as riverfront restaurants, a casino and other entertainment spots. Co-founders Patrick and Lauren Dye have rolled out the service slowly, with plans to expand in time for Cincinnati’s popular Opening Day festivities in late March when the Reds begin baseball season.

Long associated with retirement communities Juuse Saros Jersey , golf carts are increasingly being seen as urban transit options.

Services similar to GEST (Green, Easy, Safe Transportation) are running from Auburn, Alabama, to Toledo <a title="Y.A. They offer environmentally friendly rides at low rates – in advertising-sponsored GEST’s case, for free – at slow speeds suited for sightseeing or mingling. Patrick liked the one in Nashville, and he saw an opportunity in Cincinnati with its revitalized downtown area.

”I think it would be great anywhere,” Lauren Dye said as her husband drove past Cincinnati’s recently renovated Music Hall. ”It’s just a really fun mode of transportation.”

Prince was singing ”Little Red Corvette” in the background, part of the `80s music mix among the choices passengers can make for their rides.

The service comes as regional leaders have identified improving transportation as a key priority.

Cincinnati area officials last month announced a partnership with Uber to create the Cincinnati Mobility Lab. Uber will share transportation data and launch studies of such issues as curbside congestion and bus services in the Cincinnati-northern Kentucky region.

Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley said working with Uber is an example of looking to the future for better transportation options.

The Dyes Trent Murphy Jersey , who operate the Scene Ultra Lounge downtown, launched GEST just before New Year’s, relying mainly on word-of-mouth. Attention grew quickly, especially as the city’s streetcar system suffered repeated shutdowns because of cold weather and ice.

Patrick Dye said the golf carts aren’t meant to compete with the streetcar, and they’ve had good cooperation with city administrators on getting their business running.

He said that they’ve averaged 300 to 500 passengers a night and will begin daytime service on Opening Day Authentic J'Mon Moore Jersey , March 29, with a cart fleet up to 10 from the current six.

”This is just one more piece to bring and entice people to come to downtown Cincinnati and another tool that people can use to get around,” he said.

—

Follow Dan Sewell at Authentic Tennessee Titans Jerseys

The Bears are swapping practice fields with a high school team in August.

According to Rick Kambic of the Chicago Tribune Le'Raven Clark Jersey , the Bears will practice at Vernon Hills High School on Aug. 22, and let the Cougars football team use their facility to practice earlier that same day.

鈥淜ids will be able to walk from their homes to Vernon Hills High School and watch the Bears practice,鈥?Brian McDonald, the athletic director at Vernon Hills said. 鈥淚 mean, it鈥檚 a cool opportunity that doesn鈥檛 come around very often and we鈥檙e excited to provide that opportunity to our community.鈥?/p>

The Bears have done similar practices in recent years, and even though it’s on a Wednesday, gives them a moment of a “Friday Night Lights” atmosphere, complete with fireworks after the practice.

Tickets for the practice will be free, but fans will need to register on the Bears website to gain access, and capacity is limited to 5 Authentic Logan Couture Jersey ,000.

Also, while hanging around the high school, the Bears may find a copy of last year’s offensive game plan laying around, so it’s a win-win.

In an unprecedented four-game sweep in Baltimore, the Seattle Mariners outscored the Orioles by a total of six runs and twice prevailed in extra innings.

The difference between the two teams, to a large degree, is that Seattle finds a way to win, and the Orioles keep coming up with a variety of ways to lose.

Nelson Cruz homered and drove in three runs, and the Mariners capitalized on two 10th-inning errors in a 4-2 victory Thursday that completed their first four-game sweep at Baltimore in franchise history.

The Mariners improved to 8-0 in extra innings this season. They won in 11 innings on Wednesday, after winning the first two games of the series 5-3 and 3-2.

”We won four games Authentic Mike Remmers Jersey , four different ways,” manager Scott Servais said with pride. ”It shows what kind of team we are. Different players on different nights, all pitching in. We are playing pretty good baseball as a team right now. This sweep was a great turnaround for us.”

The Mariners came to town with a run of six losses in seven games. They headed back to Seattle in the thick of the AL West race.

”It’s great to get a sweep,” shortstop Jean Segura said. ”It gives us momentum as we go back home.”

After missing two straight games with lower back pain, Cruz celebrated his return with his 21st homer , a two-run shot in the fourth inning that put Seattle up 2-0.

Manny Machado and Chris Davis answered with solo drives off Mike Leake in the bottom half, and that accounted for all the scoring until the 10th.

Dee Gordon beat out a dribbler to the left of the mound and scored when center fielder Colby Rasmus bobbled Segura’s single off Miguel Castro (2-4). A throwing error by third baseman Steve Wilkerson and an RBI single by Cruz followed.

Gordon’s speed and Cruz’s power have proven to be a potent combination for the Mariners. It was certainly too much for Baltimore.

”Guys like Gordon put such pressure on you because you know any little bobble, anything, he’s going to take another base,” Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. ”A groundball that probably 95 percent of people are out on pretty easily Adidas P.K Subban Jersey , it’s a base hit. After Yacabonis allowed two straight singles to start the fifth, Jefry Ramirez took over and retired Segura and Mitch Haniger before striking out Cruz.

”I thought I did well,” Yacabonis said. ”There were a couple of times where I tried to make my pitches too good instead of just executing. That’s just going to come with fine tuning and experience.”

Recalled from Triple-A Norfolk before the game, Ramirez threw five innings of three-hit ball in his second big league game.

STREAKY

Baltimore’s Mark Trumbo extended his hitting streak to 12 games with a sixth-inning single. It matches a career high, set with Seattle in 2015. … Davis has two HRs in his last two games and three in seven games since returning from an 8-game hiatus designed to break a season-long skid.

TRAINER’S ROOM

Mariners: 3B Kyle Seager did not start after hurting his toe during a swing Wednesday night Kenny Golladay Jersey , but entered as a pinch hitter in the ninth and stayed in the game.

Orioles: 3B Tim Beckham was given a day off. He had played in three straight games since coming off the DL following core surgery. ”He feels good. We just want to keep him that way,” Showalter said. … CF Adam Jones was also rested. ”I’ve been looking for a day (off) for him, and today’s the day,” Showalter said.

UP NEXT

Mariners: LHP Marco Gonzales (7-5, 4.04 ERA) starts against Kansas City on Friday night in the opener of a nine-game homestand.

Orioles: Rookie David Hess (2-4, 5.44) helps Baltimore launch a three-game series against the visiting Los Angeles Angels.

—

Arizona Cardinals Jerseys

The Celtics punched the Cavaliers first and never looked back in rolling to a Game 1 rout.

LeBron James took a literal shot to the jaw in Game 2 but kept right on scoring.

So did the Celtics.

Jaylen Brown scored 23 points and Boston withstood a 42-point night by James to beat Cleveland 107-94 on Tuesday and take a 2-0 lead in the Eastern Conference finals.

Terry Rozier added 18 points http://www.indianapoliscoltsteamonline.com/al-woods-jersey , while Al Horford finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Boston improved to 9-0 this postseason at TD Garden. The Celtics have never blown a 2-0 series lead in the playoffs.

”We’re going to fight,” Rozier said. ”At this point we don’t care if we win by half a point. If we win, that’s all that matters.”

James added 12 assists and 10 rebounds. He scored 21 of Cleveland’s 27 points in the first quarter , tying his playoff career high for points in a period. His 42 points marked his fifth 40-point game of this postseason. James had just 15 points and missed all five of his 3-point attempts in the Cavs’ Game 1 loss.

But he didn’t seem to play with the same force after straining his neck in a first-half collision and the Cavaliers wilted in the second half, with the Celtics outscoring them 59-39.

”I think I’ll be fine. I’m not going to lose sleep over it. You go out and when you lay everything on the line, at the end of the day, you can live with that,” he said. ”They did what they had to do, and that was protect home, and now it’s our time to try to do that Anders Lee Jersey , as well.”

Kevin Love finished with 22 points and 15 rebounds for Cleveland.

As expected, Tristan Thompson started in place of Kyle Korver in the hopes his presence could energize what was a sluggish Cavs offense in Game 1. Thompson got Cleveland’s first basket of the night and helped to limit Horford’s effectiveness on the inside early on.

Korver added 11 points off the bench for Cleveland. But starters Thompson, JR Smith and George Hill combined for just 11 points on 5-of-17 shooting.

Tempers flared with 3:49 to play with Boston leading 97-89. Marcus Smart got in Smith’s face after Smith pushed Horford in the back to prevent a layup. Smith shoved Smart and the pair had to be separated.

Smith was assessed a flagrant foul and both received technical fouls.

”I felt like it was uncalled for that type of play there,” Horford said. ”We have each other’s backs. … We moved on to the next play way and we locked in after that.”

Smith said there was no malicious intent on the play.

”I blatantly pushed him. It wasn’t like I was trying to low bridge him or something. Just make sure he didn’t get it,” Smith said. ”It was a good, hard foul.”

Boston’s balanced attack was effective again, with six players reaching double figures. Cleveland had 15 turnovers leading to 13 Boston points. The Celtics turned it over just six times.

Boston led 84-77 after three quarters and took command late in the fourth with the Cavs getting little offense other than from James. Cleveland’s starters were pulled with 1:48 left and the Cavs down 14.

James was on the attack from the opening tip. He turned the ball over the Cavs’ first possession. But it was one of his only miscues in the first quarter.

James was also astoundingly efficient, using his dribble to create space, while he knocked down an assortment of jump shots.

He finished the opening quarter 8 of 13 from the field and 4 of 7 from the 3-point line.

His momentum was stunted briefly at the 3:50 mark of the second quarter, when Jayson Tatum was whistled for a foul after catching James jaw with his shoulder as he attempted a steal. James stayed in the game and connected on one of his ensuing free throws Authentic Pekka Rinne Jersey Kids , but then exited to the locker room with Cleveland leading 47-36.

The Cavaliers said James had a neck sprain. He returned after missing less than two minutes of game time.

Boston flurried just before the half, getting six points from Morris in the final minute to trim Cleveland’s lead to 55-48 at the break.

”I think we just have a group of guys that really believe in each other,” Horford said. ”Our group in tough times, we’ve always found a way.”

TIP-INS

Cavaliers: Were outscored 50-42 in the paint after being outscored 60-38 in Game 1.

Celtics: Went 10 of 31 from the 3-point line.

QUOTABLE

”We’ve got to be tougher. I think they’re playing tougher than we are. We see that. They’re being physical. They’re gooning the game up and we’ve got to do the same thing.” – Cavaliers coach Ty Lue

40-POINT MAN

According to Elias Sports Bureau, James now has three career playoff 40-point triple-doubles. That is the most in NBA postseason history.

DEFENDING A TEAMMATE

Smart said Smith’s play was a ”dirty shot.”

”That’s not the first time JR has done some dirty stuff, especially playing against us,” he said. ”It’s like a bully, you keep letting a bully keep picking on you, he’s going to pick on you until you finally stand up. And that’s what I tried to do.”

UP NEXT

Game 3 is Saturday in Cleveland.

—

With the season coming closer and closer, it means the offseason moves are coming to an end. For the most part Authentic Logan Cooke Jersey , most moves have been made already, despite a few top free agents including聽Alfred Morris and Adrian Peterson. But with the new trend in the NFL, we can expect a lot of trades throughout the season.

NFL聽teams have shown that they're willing to part ways pretty quickly with some of their top-end talent if they feel their next contract will be too expensive. Teams trade players for numerous reasons, including聽advanced age, too expensive of a contract, and declining play. It鈥檚 the easiest way to free up some cap space, as well as add draft picks.

Ultimately, the draft is the best way to stockpile talent. Draft picks are cheaper, and potentially offer more upside than pursuing veterans. The easiest way to replace players now, is by utilizing young players. We have seen many teams including the Dallas Cowboys build their team from the ground up through the NFL Draft. Lately Youth Troy Apke Jersey , many teams have taken that strategy and used it to towards their own team. If you want to build a championship team that can last, it鈥檚 the best way.

If 32 players (one from each team) had to get traded this season, who would they be? Some of these players have a lesser chance than others, but there are plenty who have a real shot of moving throughout the season. Trade rumors have gone around with some of these players, and other players could see more talk as the season begins. When the preseason begins, that is when you will see the most movement between players.

Miami Dolphins Jerseys

One of the first downs was on Dalton’s 13-yard scramble after the Bengals (2-0) started with a pair of three-and-outs.

A week after throwing a 30-yard touchdown to rookie Michael Gallup on his only drive of the preseason opener in San Francisco, Prescott was 10 of 15 for 86 yards. The TD drive for a 10-0 lead was kept alive by an 8-yard slant to Gallup, who reached out for a nice catch inside the Cincinnati 10.

The concern for the Cowboys (0-2) was the status of four-time Pro Bowl guard Zack Martin, who left early on what would have been his last drive with a knee injury.

Owner Jerry Jones said an MRI was planned Sunday and he was optimistic about the outcome. Martin was injured when he bent down to block cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick in the open field on a run by Rod Smith. Martin was on the sideline in street clothes late in the game.

“I just want to say we’ve got more to gain from (the MRI), but from what we’ve seen Womens Henrik Zetterberg Jersey , I’ll sleep good tonight on Martin,” Jones said.

Dalton finished 5 of 7 for 41 yards, with his final drive stalling near midfield.

On Cincinnati’s first offensive play after Dalton left, Dallas defensive end Taco Charlton forced a fumble on a short completion to Tyler Boyd, with cornerback Byron Jones getting the recovery.

“We’ve got things we can work on, attacking the football, throwing balls down the field Robbie Gould Jersey ,” coach Marvin Lewis said. “We had opportunities. We just missed the timing of it and we’ve got to be better at those things.”

The Cowboys forced two turnovers after getting three against the 49ers. The highlight was Chidobe Awuzie’s leaping interception , which he tipped to himself along the sideline late in the first half.

Cincinnati’s first points came on backup kicker Jonathan Brown’s 55-yard field goal in the third quarter.

The Bengals went ahead 11-10 when Tra Carson scored on a 2-yard run and Jeff Driskel threw a 2-point conversion pass to John Ross. Matt Barkley’s 3-yard touchdown pass to Brian Hill wrapped up the scoring midway through the fourth quarter.

LONG TIME COMING

Dallas defensive end Randy Gregory played for the first time since the finale of the 2016 regular season. He missed all of last season after getting suspended three times in 2016 for violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy. Gregory didn’t show up in the defensive stats but pressured Dalton on a third-down misfire to an open A.J. Green on Cincinnati’s opening possession.

TALE OF TWO WORKLOADS

With star running back Ezekiel Elliott sitting again for Dallas, Smith had 13 carries in the first 18 minutes, finishing with 49 yards. His workload was helped by a nearly nine-minute drive to Williams’ touchdown. Bengals starter Joe Mixon got just four carries for 8 yards.

O-LINE OVERHAUL

The work in progress that is the overhauled offensive line for the Bengals remains that way, this time after fired line coach Paul Alexander was watching from the opposing sideline after getting hired by Dallas. Cedric Ogbuehi was at right tackle to start the second half when gave up a sack to Charlton while getting called for holding. Cincinnati running backs had just 7 yards on six carries before halftime.

NATIONAL ANTHEM

The Cowboys were standing for the national anthem in the first preseason home game, “toe on the line” as owner Jerry Jones declared they would be in his opening remarks at training camp last month. The Dallas players, with some coaches sprinkled in Phillip Gaines Color Rush Jersey , were single file on the sideline, spanning about 50 yards. As usual, all the Bengals were standing.

INJURY REPORT

Bengals: Rookie CB Davontae Harris was ruled out with a knee injury in the first half. … TE C.J. Uzomah sustained a cut to his face early in the game, but came back with a 23-yard catch in the first half.

Cowboys: S Xavier Woods left with a hamstring injury. … Rookie RB Bo Scarbrough, a seventh-round pick out of Alabama, went to the locker room with a hip injury. … DE Datone Jones and S Jameill Showers left with knee injuries.

UP NEXT

For “dress rehearsal” week, the Bengals will be at Buffalo and the Cowboys will be home against Arizona. Both games are next Sunday.

Orioles reliever Darren O’Day has opted for season-ending surgery to repair a left hamstring injury.

Manager Buck Showalter said the recovery time from the operation would be six months Bills Authentic Jerseys , compared to a 10- to 12-week absence if the right-hander attempted to rehabilitate the injury.

Showalter said surgery gives O’Day ”a lot better chance of it not being an issue again. And that’s important.”

The 35-year-old O’Day has struggled with injuries this season, missing a month with a hyperextended elbow before being sidelined for good after hurting his hamstring on June 26.

The side-armer is 0-2 with a 3.60 ERA in 20 games.
Defenseman Derrick Pouliot snapped a 1-1 tie with his third goal of the season early in the third period and the Vancouver Canucks defeated the Edmonton Oilers 2-1 Thursday night for their third consecutive win.

Sam Gagner also scored for the Canucks Adidas Sidney Crosby Jersey , who have won four of their past five games.

Connor McDavid scored for the Oilers, who have lost two in a row. Edmonton is 3-2-1 in its past six games.

Pouliot gave Vancouver the lead just 2 minutes into the third period. Nikolay Goldobin fed the Canucks defenseman a pass from along the boards. Pouliot skated in on Oilers goalie Cam Talbot, make a deke then scored his first goal in 42 games.

Leon Draisaitl had a chance to tie the game on an Oilers power play late in the third, but his shot hit the post. Ryan Strome’s slap shot also hit the post after a Canucks giveaway with just over two minutes remaining.

McDavid’s goal was his 41st of the season, giving him an NHL-leading 103 points, leaving him six ahead of Tampa Bay’s Nikita Kucherov. McDavid trails Washington’s Alex Ovechkin by four goals in the race for the Rocket Richard Trophy.

Vancouver goaltender Jacob Markstrom stopped 35 shots. He’s 4-0-0 in his past four starts. Talbot made 28 saves for the Oilers.

Markstrom kept the Canucks in the game with some big stops, including getting a pad on Milan Lucic’s shot in the first period.

”For me right now it’s just a carry-over from the feeling I had in the previous games,” Markstrom said. ”I just keep building on it.”

McDavid showed some of his magic on the game’s opening goal at 11:33 of the first period. After defenseman Andrej Sekera flipped a puck down the ice, McDavid showed his speed by skating around Gagner then muscled defenseman Michael Del Zotto off the puck. He scored on a shot that hit Markstrom’s blocker, went off the post, and into the net.

Gagner was also battling the flu Thursday.

”When you get stuck on the ice with him (McDavid) it’s not funny even when you are feeling 100 percent Authentic Joe Pavelski Jersey ,” Gagner said. ”Obviously he’s special.”

The Oilers captain has 14 points (seven goals, seven assists) in his past six games.

Gagner earned some redemption by tying the game at 15:14 of the second. Daniel Sedin took a shot from the faceoff circle that Talbot stopped. Gagner, alone at the side of the net, put in the rebound for his third goal in four games.

”You never want to be a culprit on a goal-against,” Gagner said. ”It was a tough one there. I thought the guys battled back really well. It’s a nice feeling.”

Adam Gaudette, the former Northeastern University Husky who recently signed with Vancouver after leading the NCAA with 30 goals and 60 points, played his first NHL game. On his opening shift, he sent a sizzling shot just wide of the Oilers net.

NOTES: Gaudette is a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award as the best player in NCAA hockey. … Henrik Sedin’s opening shift of the game was the 30,000th of his career. … Brendan Gaunce returned to the Canucks lineup after missing 24 games with a foot injury. … With several Canucks down with the flu, Jake Virtanen was a late scratch. … The game’s first penalty came at 12:33 of the second period when Vancouver’s Darren Archibald was called for interference. … Al Montoya dressed as the Oilers backup goaltender after missing two games with an injury.

UP NEXT:

Oilers: Travel to Calgary on Saturday night.

Canucks: Host Columbus on Saturday.

—

When Alex Ovechkin embraced Josh Norman in a meeting of two of Washington’s biggest sports stars, the Redskins cornerback had a question for the Capitals‘ Stanley Cup-winning captain.

“You still celebrating?” Norman asked.

“We’re done Nate Thompson Jersey ,” Ovechkin said. “We’re done for right now.”

The Capitals seemed to celebrate as hard as any champion in NHL history. When they get on the ice for the first practices of training camp Friday, they will be just one of 31 teams chasing a title all over again.

“We have to forget already about that and focus,” center Evgeny Kuznetsov said. “We have to move forward. When you taste that win, you want to do it over again. To do that, it’s not easy.”

A year after being written off as title contenders, the Capitals are now a focal point of the NHL as camps open. Elsewhere in the Eastern Conference, the rival Penguins will look to rebound from a second-round postseason exit, the Lightning are stacked even after general manager Steve Yzerman stepped down and the Maple Leafs look like Cup favorites after adding John Tavares.

The Western Conference-champion Golden Knights won’t have Nate Schmidt for any game in the preseason or the first 20 of the regular season after a performance-enhancing drug suspension , while the Blues loaded up on centers in a bid to move past recent playoff disappointments — like the Capitals did a year ago.

Some things to watch from training camps around the league:

ERIK GOES WEST

The NHL was busy Thursday with the Dallas Stars re-signing Tyler Seguin to a $78.8 million, eight-year extension, the Hurricanes naming Justin Williams captain and announcing Victor Rask is out indefinitely after slicing two fingers in a kitchen accident Anthony Munoz Jersey , and the Coyotes giving the “C” to Oliver Ekman-Larsson. Oh, and the Sharks acquired star defenseman Erik Karlsson in a blockbuster trade with Ottawa.

“It still came as a shock and not something I prepared for or could’ve prepared myself for,” Karlsson said, adding that he hopes to be in San Jose for camp sooner than later after visa issues get worked out.

Sharks general manager Doug Wilson said they were “looking for a difference-maker.” After missing out on Tavares, they got one in Karlsson and shifted the balance of power in the Western Conference.

TRYOUT TIME

At least 20 players will attend camps on professional tryout agreements, with defenseman Brandon Davidson in Chicago and winger Scottie Upshall in Edmonton among those most likely to earn a contract. The Oilers — who have the selling point of playing with Connor McDavid — also invited defenseman Jason Garrison and former Capitals forward Alex Chiasson to camp. Edmonton is the land of opportunity this month after missing the playoffs by 17 points last season. The young Bruins are bringing in veterans Daniel Winnik, Lee Stempniak and Mark Fayne on tryouts. Each one will have to wow the coaching staff to make it.

WHO’S NOT THERE

A handful of restricted free agents remain unsigned around the league, including Maple Leafs forward William Nylander, Golden Knights defenseman Shea Theodore and Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse. Nylander wasn’t listed on Toronto’s 73-player training camp roster released Wednesday. RFAs lack leverage and time, with the season coming up fast next month. Still, such situations are usually resolved before the opener and Nylander http://www.cowboysauthorizedshops.com/authentic-dalton-schultz-jersey , Nurse, Theodore and the others should all sign before Oct. 3.

NEW COACHES

Washington’s Todd Reirden is one of six new coaches, but he has been on Barry Trotz’s staff the past four seasons and had a hand in winning the Cup. Rod Brind’Amour has plenty of familiarity with the Hurricanes after seven seasons as an assistant but an entirely different challenge as he looks to end a league-worst nine-year playoff drought. New faces in new places include Trotz taking his Cup ring to the Islanders, former Carolina coach Bill Peters in Calgary, Jim Montgomery in Dallas and David Quinn with the Rangers. Peters faces big expectations in trying to get the Flames back to contending status in the West.

ROOKIE WATCH

Buffalo No. 1 pick Rasmus Dahlin is the player to watch in the preseason to see if the smooth-skating Swedish defenseman can make the NHL look as effortless as previous endeavors. Dahlin will make the Sabres‘ roster and could contribute immediately on a blue line that needs it. A handful of other top-10 picks have a chance to play on opening night, including Carolina’s Andrei Svechnikov, Ottawa’s Brady Tkachuk and Detroit’s Filip Zadina.

Authentic New England Patriots Jerseys

Miller Jersey , hockey world! Drew Doughty may be on the move. After the Vegas Golden Knights swept the Los Angeles Kings, it is easy to believe that a retooling period is coming. Doughty definitely could be a trade piece because his contract is set to expire after next season and there have already been rumours that he is aiming to test the market when the time comes. The Kings need to act fast with their decision regarding Doughty鈥檚 future because right now, his value is at its highest. Once the NHL Entry Draft ends, it will drop off a bit because teams will begin to realize that he likely wants to be a free agent. That being said, Los Angeles should listen to offers for Doughty if they聽can not change this team for the better through other means.

With that said Authentic Rashaan Gaulden Jersey , in this article we will be looking at fifteen realistic trade offers that could be enough for a team to land Doughty. It is important to note that not a single team on this list will be from the Pacific Division and rightfully so. There is no way that the Kings would send their franchise defenseman to the teams they face the most every season. The Kings definitely want to extend Doughty because he is a special talent, but realistically, their chances of that occurring is continuing to decrease as each week passes by. The time to bring him is now. If he does not sign, the Kings must trade him to spark their retooling period.

Nonetheless, let鈥檚 look at fifteen potential trade offers that could be enough to land Drew Doughty!

Big blockbuster trades are few and far between in today鈥檚 NHL Womens Jordan Reed Jersey , but that makes them all the more exciting when they do happen.

Every time a trade involving a big-name player occurs, I always wonder what the conversations were like leading up to the trade. If you鈥檙e a GM and you鈥檙e shopping a top-tier player, there鈥檚 no limit to the offers you鈥檒l likely field (assuming you鈥檙e doing you due diligence).

Over the past three years or so there have been a handful of blockbusters in the NHL, and stories of the trades that almost happened break seemingly weekly. Today鈥檚 list will take a look at a lot of those deals: specifically, 15 recent NHL trades that almost went down.

Sure Rasheem Green Color Rush Jersey , some of the sources on a few of these entries are sketchy at best, but it鈥檚 impossible to know exactly what goes on behind closed doors unless you鈥檙e on the other side of said door. I, of course, am on the wrong side of the closed door, so the best I can do is use the information from insiders with access.

Here are 15 recent NHL trades that almost happened:

Duncan Keith scored a power-play goal with 8.5 seconds left and the Chicago Blackhawks beat St. Louis 4-3 on Wednesday night to hurt the Blues‘ playoff hopes.

Andreas Martinsen Tyus Bowser Jersey , Blake Hillman and Alex DeBrincat also scored, and Jean-Francois Berube made 30 saves. The Blackhawks beat the Blues for the first time in three meetings this season.

Vladimir Tarasenko and Brayden Schenn each had a goal and an assist for the Blues. They have lost four straight to fall a point behind idle Colorado for the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference.

Robert Bortuzzo also scored for the Blues, and Jake Allen made 22 saves.

DUCKS 3, WILD 1

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) – Ondrej Kase scored the tiebreaking goal on a rebound with 3:56 to play, and Anaheim clinched its sixth consecutive playoff berth with a victory over Minnesota.

Kase secured his first 20-goal season by jumping on a long rebound of Josh Manson’s shot, and Andrew Cogliano added an empty-net goal with 2:13 left. Ryan Miller made 26 saves in his first start since March 9 for the Ducks, who have won eight of 10 in their usual late-season surge to the playoffs.

Nick Ritchie also scored, and Manson had two assists as the Ducks officially extended the NHL’s second-longest streak of consecutive postseason berths. Anaheim also leapfrogged archrival Los Angeles into third place in the Pacific Division, leading by one point with two games to play for both clubs.

Matt Dumba scored a power-play goal and Devan Dubnyk stopped 28 shots for the Wild, who took their fifth loss in seven games during what turned out to be a meaningless contest for the playoff-bound club.

SENATORS 4, SABRES 2

BUFFALO Vladimir Sobotka Jersey , N.Y. (AP) – Matt Duchene scored his team-leading 27th goal for Ottawa, helping assure Buffalo of finishing last in the NHL standings.

Max McCormick, Ryan Dzingel and Alexander Burrows, with an empty-netter, also scored for the Senators, and Craig Anderson stopped 32 shots.

Ryan O’Reilly and Kyle Okposo scored for the Sabres. Buffalo had already extended its franchise-worst playoff drought to a seventh season and will finish last for the third time in five years.

The quarterback merry-go-round in Minnesota has lost a lot of qualified riders over the past decade and more, and the Vikings made an unprecedented commitment this year to Kirk Cousins to make it stop.

Cousins, too, has experienced his share of unsettled situations over a career during which he has often fought skepticism toward his ability to be a premier player.

This season, for both parties, there's no question about who the starter will be. Cousins arrived less than five months ago, and he has yet to take a snap for the Vikings that counts. Still Authentic T. J. Oshie Jersey , they've already anointed him their team leader.

"At some point you have to be given a license to lead to lead. You have to be given permission to take charge, and when you're still having internal competition it's hard to do that," Cousins said. "I've been in those situations in the past."

Not only in Washington, where he played his first six years as a pro, but in the early part of his time in college at Michigan State.

"It was hard to really assert my personality in the locker room, because I didn't want to step on the toes of the other people," Cousins said.

"So that's something, when you know your role and it's been defined, you can then lead from a place of greater comfort and from that platform. I think that helps the overall dynamic."

With a fully guaranteed $84 million contract over the next three years, the Vikings will be steered by Cousins through at least 2020 even with a roster stacked with stars at several positions. If all goes well, the marriage would last until he decides to leave the game.

"If there's a quarterback competition, you don't have one Eric Ebron Jersey , OK?" offensive coordinator John DeFilippo said. "I've been at spots before where there is quarterback competition and you're worried, because neither guy is really stepping in front of the other one."

Daunte Culpepper, whose career was derailed in the 2005 season by a massive knee injury, was the last sustained starting quarterback for the Vikings.

None of the successors, as successful as they might have been, stayed longer than two years. Teddy Bridgewater was on his way to solving the problem, until he hurt his knee even worse than Culpepper.

Sam Bradford was an exceptional fill-in, but then he was hurt and replaced by Case Keenum. Despite his hand in helping the Vikings reach the NFC championship game, the front office and coaching staff were never fully committed to Keenum for the long term.

So now the offense has been turned over to Cousins, who has found himself the center of attention more quickly than he anticipated.

"I was surprised by how much my teammates gave me that license to lead quickly. I thought they were going to want to have me prove myself a little bit longer than maybe I had to," Cousins said. "They were very supportive and said, 'No Authentic Vladimir Tarasenko Jersey , man. It's your show. Let's go.'"

The first two days of training camp have been primarily for rookies and other players either relatively inexperienced or recovering from injuries, but Cousins has taken part along with all the other quarterbacks.

Running back Dalvin Cook has shed his knee brace, declaring himself fully past the ACL injury that ended his rookie season early. Cornerback and kickoff returner Mike Hughes is the first-round draft pick. Cousins, of course, has the biggest share of the spotlight, as he will for as long as he's putting on a purple jersey.

"We exude that confidence in Kirk," DeFilippo said. "I think he exudes that confidence in us, and we're really looking forward to him playing well this year and leading our football team."

There is a swirl of discussion over the availability of a few key players for Game 5 of the first-round playoff series between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers.

This much Darrell Green Jersey , though, is certain: The Penguins, who hold a 3-1 series lead, can wrap things up and move on to the Eastern Conference semifinals with a win Friday at PPG Paints Arena.

Meanwhile, the Flyers are facing elimination.

“We’re not ready for our season to be over,” Philadelphia captain Claude Giroux said Thursday. “We go to Pittsburgh, tough building to play in. We know we can win there. We know if we play our game we can win.

“So we’re going to go out there, play our game and be back (home) for Game 6.”

Giroux, who had 102 points during the regular season, has been held to one assist and is minus-7 in the four games this series.

Philadelphia general manager Ron Hextall exonerated Giroux, saying there are a lot of factors in one players’ numbers being down, and he didn’t have to get technical when breaking down his club’s game plan for extending its season.

“We need to play better Authentic Allen Robinson Jersey ,” Hextall said. “They’ve played extremely well, and we need to play better.”

Philadelphia top-line center and Selke Trophy finalist Sean Couturier, who missed Game 4 because of an injury sustained in practice Tuesday, skated but did not practice Thursday and accompanied the team to Pittsburgh. After practice, he indicated there is a chance he could play.

“Feeling better every day, and we’ll see (Friday) how I feel,” Couturier said.

Pittsburgh will be without tenacious winger Patric Hornqvist for the second straight game because of an unspecified injury, although he skated on his own Thursday.

The Penguins apparently dodged a huge setback after goaltender Matt Murray needed attention from a trainer during practice Thursday. Murray remained on the ice and continued in goal until the end of practice.

Afterward, he declined to say what ailed him but proclaimed, “I’m good.”

Murray in Game 4 became the NHL goalie to reach 25 playoff wins the fastest, doing it in 36 games.

With two shutouts this series – along with a 1.27 goals-against average and a .948 save percentage — Murray has been part of a dominating Pittsburgh performance in its three wins, which have been by a combined score of 17-1.

Penguins captain Sidney Crosby — whose goal and assist in Game 4 gave him 173 career playoff points Andre Holmes Jersey , moving him ahead of Hall of Famer Mario Lemieux for the club record — warned that his team’s three lopsided wins haven’t come as easily as they might have looked.

“It’s playoff hockey,” he said. “They’ve had chances, and we’ve gotten saves and big plays.

“It’s about momentum and different points in games, and we’ve executed well, but that can change quickly if you don’t play the right way.”

Crosby and the Penguins know what facing a team on the precipice is all about after winning the Stanley Cup the past two years. In those two playoff runs, they were 8-5 when they had a chance to eliminate an opponent, 4-3 last year.

“It’s always hard to end someone’s season. We know they’re going to be desperate and throw everything at us,” Penguins winger Jake Guentzel said.

Terrell Owens has decided to celebrate his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame at Chattanooga, where he played college football.

The former NFL All-Pro receiver, who has said he was not attending the induction ceremony in Canton, Ohio, released a statement on Tuesday saying he would give his acceptance speech at his alma mater.

"I have decided to give my Hall of Fame speech at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in McKenzie Arena on Saturday Kentavius Street Jersey , August 4," Owens posted on Twitter. "The event, which is free and open to the public, starts at 3:17 p.m."

Owens added that he is "proud to be a Moc, and I'm honored to be able to share this experience with my family, friends, teammates and fans at the place that provided me an opportunity beyond high school and where I truly began to find myself as an athlete."

The 44-year-old Owens said he is looking forward to the event, and "Getcha popcorn ready."

Owens was a three-sport athlete at Chattanooga, where he played football from 1992-95. He also played basketball and ran track for the Mocs. Owens said he "realized just how much I want to celebrate what will inevitably be the best weekend of my life at a place that means so much to me."

He was voted into the hall in February after being denied in his first two years of eligibility. His announcement last month that he was skipping the Aug. 4 induction ceremony at the Pro Football Hall of Fame is unprecedented by an enshrinee.

In a statement released last month by his publicist, Owens said: "While I am incredibly appreciative of this opportunity, I have made the decision to publicly decline my invitation to attend the induction ceremony in Canton.

"After visiting Canton earlier this year, I came to the realization that I wish to celebrate what will be one of the most memorable days of my life http://www.washingtonredskinsteamonline.com/zach-brown-jersey , elsewhere," Owens added. "At a later date, I will announce where and when I will celebrate my induction."

Chattanooga athletic director Mark Wharton said Tuesday that Owens first spoke with school officials "several months ago" about the possibility of having some type of event in Chattanooga. At the time, Owens hadn't yet indicated he was skipping the Canton induction ceremony.

Wharton said Owens spoke with them again "two to three weeks ago" about the possibility of giving his induction speech on campus and that officials were "ecstatic" about the idea.

"Obviously we supported him going to Canton," Wharton said. "At the time, there hadn't been any living Hall of Fame members who did not go to Canton, so our assumption was that he was (going to Canton). But in multiple conversations with him and his team, he felt most comfortable doing it in a place that molded him into the player and person he is today."

Wharton said the specifics of the Aug. 4 ceremony haven't been finalized, but he expects a weekend full of events around town honoring Owens.

Owens entered the league as a third-round pick by San Francisco in 1996 and developed into a star known for some memorable playoff appearances, including his winning 25-yard TD catch to beat Green Bay in 1999; his 177 yards in a comeback win against the Giants in 2003; and his nine catches for 122 yards in the 2004 Super Bowl against New England just seven weeks after breaking his leg.

He ranks second to Jerry Rice with 15,934 yards receiving and is third on the all-time touchdowns receiving list with 153.

Owens heavily criticized the voting process when he failed to be elected in 2016 and 2017. Among the reasons he fell short were his being considered a divisive teammate and negative presence in the locker room.

The ovation moved Aaron Rodgers to tears.

The Green Bay Packers fans showed their appreciation with the two-time NFL MVP about to take his first snaps at Lambeau Field in almost a year. Once he got behind center http://www.buffalobillsteamonline.com/jordan-poyer-jersey , Rodgers needed just one drive to look right at home back in Titletown.

Rodgers connected with tight end Jimmy Graham for an 8-yard score , and Tramon Williams had a 25-yard interception return for a touchdown on the first play from scrimmage of the Packers' 51-34 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night.

"The biggest thing, the goal tonight with Aaron in that first drive was to get the ball in the end zone," coach Mike McCarthy said. "And I thought we did a nice job."

The response from fans seemed just as meaningful to Rodgers.

He was 2 of 4 for 35 yards in his first game at Lambeau since Sept. 28. He broke his collarbone two weeks later at Minnesota, an injury that doomed the Packers in a 7-9 season.

"To be back at Lambeau was a thrill and the ovation touched me," Rodgers said. "I have to kind of wipe away some tears in my eyes."

Starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger watched from the sideline in shorts and a T-shirt. He and second-stringer Landry Jones had already been ruled out for the game when Roethlisberger left a training camp practice on Tuesday with a possible concussion.

Big Ben looked just fine while chatting with Rodgers as they walked to their respective locker rooms at halftime. After the game, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Roethlisberger was out of the concussion protocol.

Sounds like he'll be back at practice Saturday.

"He's out of the protocol. He's a full participant," Tomlin said.

The Steelers got off to rough start after Mason Rudolph threw the interception returned by Williams.

But five minutes later, Rudolph found JuJu Smith-Schuster for a 4-yard touchdown pass. Rudolph Isaac Yiadom Color Rush Jersey , who is competing with Joshua Dobbs for a backup job, was just 5 of 12 for 47 yards in playing the first half.

Dobbs didn't look much better after throwing a 22-yard interception returned for a touchdown by rookie cornerback Josh Jackson in the third quarter.

"We'd just like to have those plays back, but the deal is you don't get those plays back," Tomlin said. "So, hopefully, there's a learning process there in it for all of us."

Dobbs finished strong and connected with rookie receiver James Washington for two second-half touchdowns . He was 12 of 17 for 192 yards.

GOING TO GRAHAM

Green Bay is always a threat in the NFC as long as Rodgers is healthy. This year, he has an intriguing option in the red zone in the 6-foot-7 Graham, who signed as a free agent in the offseason.

Rodgers drew the Steelers offside on third-and-10 from the 13 for a 5-yard penalty.

On the next play, he stood tall in the face of a rush before throwing a high pass into the middle of the end zone for Graham. He spiked the ball before heading into the stands for his first Lambeau Leap.

SMITH-SCHUSTER SCORES

Besides Roethlisberger Kyle Williams Jersey , the Steelers didn't have two other stars. Receiver Antonio Brown sat out, while running back Le'Veon Bell still hasn't signed his franchise tender.

But Smith-Schuster is picking up where he left off following a promising rookie year after scoring his second preseason TD. The score wrapped up a wild opening five minutes in which the Packers raced out to a 14-point lead before the Steelers scored two straight touchdowns.

Green Bay's backups pulled away from there.

STAT LINES

Second-string quarterback Brett Hundley was 6 of 9 for 77 yards. He also scored on a 10-yard run . Third-stringer DeShone Kizer connected with receiver Jake Kumerow for an 82-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter.

James Conner had a 26-yard touchdown run for the Steelers in the first quarter while the Packers still had many starters on the field. Washington scored on a 19-yard pass from Dobbs after turning and extending his arms past a defender to retrieve the ball.

QUOTABLE

"Every time he gets a rep, my eyes are on him. I'm just studying him each and every day, picking his brain, just trying to become a better receiver." 鈥?Washington on watching Brown in practice.

INJURIES

Steelers: Backup C Patrick Morris left in the third quarter with an undisclosed injury.

Packers: RG Justin McCray (calf) and RB Jamaal Williams (ankle), both starters, left in the second quarter. ... Kumerow left in the third quarter with a shoulder injury.

NATIONAL ANTHEM

There were no apparent displays of protest by players on either team during the national anthem.

UP NEXT

Steelers: Host the Tennessee Titans on Aug. 25.

Packers: Visit the Oakland Raiders on Aug. 24.

Carey Price is arguably the best goaltender in the NHL. Drafted fifth overall by the Montreal Canadiens in 2005, Price has gone on to a stellar career so far winning the Ted Lindsay, Jennings Nathan Peterman Jersey , Vezina and Hart trophies, all in 2015.聽He became聽the first goalie in history to win four awards in one year. Add in Gold medals at the World Juniors, World Championships and Olympics,聽and it鈥檚 easy to see why Price is considered the best goalie in the league.

But he doesn鈥檛 have a Stanley Cup, and while he has been the face of the organization for more than a decade, Montreal still hasn鈥檛 won it all with Price in net. It鈥檚 no fault of his considering the scoring troubles Montreal has had, along with their lack of defence.

Price comes with a heavy price tag on him, as next season he will earn $10.5 million against the salary cap, the most for any goalie in the league. But his time in Montreal could be nearing an end. At聽30 years old Womens Connor Hellebuyck Jersey , the window for Price to win a Stanley Cup is closing, and Montreal isn鈥檛 in the position to contend for it聽in the next couple of years. The list of teams that would want Carey Price in net would be long. In fact, all 30 teams could make a case for him. But Price聽likely has his list of teams he wouldn鈥檛 want to play for, and teams he would, both for many reasons. Here is our list of those teams.

Trevor Bauer made plenty of quality pitches Womens Josh Anderson Jersey , but it was Cleveland catcher Roberto Perez who made the best throw of the night.

Bauer pitched effectively into the eighth inning as the Indians beat the skidding Kansas City Royals 3-2 on Wednesday for a three-game sweep.

With the Royals trailing by one in the eighth, Whit Merrifield hit a leadoff double before Perez nabbed him attempting to steal third.

”It was a huge play,” Bauer said.

Merrifield, the 2017 AL stolen base champion, said he got a good jump

”They executed. I executed,” Merrifield said. ”They got me this time. It was the right play. If I had a chance to do it again, I’d do it again.”

Perez gave credit to Bauer.

”He was thinking he was going to try and steal,” Perez said. ”He called fastball up and in and I thought that was the game right there. That was on Bauer. He hit me right in the chest and I made a strong throw, and (Jose) Ramirez made a good tag on him. I was fired up.”

Michael Brantley had an early RBI double and the Indians scored all their runs in the first three innings on only one hit. Bauer struck out eight and walked one over 7 2/3 innings.

The plummeting Royals have lost six straight and 18 of 21. They have scored four or fewer runs in 25 of their past 26 games and are barely ahead of Baltimore for the worst record in the majors.

After winning on grand slams by Francisco Lindor and Yan Gomes the previous two nights, the Indians managed only four hits – two in the ninth inning.

Bauer (8-6) has struck out eight or more in eight consecutive starts. He allowed seven hits, six of them singles Womens Dak Prescott Jersey , and is 3-1 in his past four starts.

”It was frustrating in a lot of ways and I was happy the team won,” Bauer said. ”I made some good pitches and gave up some weak hits. I had too many two-strike pitches put into play. I need to clean that up.”

Cody Allen worked the ninth to earn his 18th save in 19 chances. It was his 140th career save, breaking a tie with Bob Wickman for the club record.

Lindor walked to start the game, stole second and scored on Brantley’s double. Brantley went to third on Ramirez’s flyout and scored on Edwin Encarnacion’s sacrifice fly.

The Indians manufactured a run without a hit in the second. Jason Kipnis and Tyler Naquin opened the inning with walks. Perez advanced both with a sacrifice bunt, and Greg Allen delivered a sacrifice fly.

Kansas City used a double steal to create a run in the second. Alex Gordon, who was hit by a pitch, and Hunter Dozier, who reached on an infield single, were at the corners with two outs. They pulled off a successful double steal, with Gordon scoring. It was Dozier’s first career steal.

The last Royals player to steal home was Alex Rios on July 20, 2015 Emmitt Smith Jersey , against Pittsburgh, also as part of a double steal.

Alcides Escobar singled in the Kansas City fifth and advanced to third on Drew Butera’s one-out single. Escobar scored on Merrifield’s sacrifice fly.

Royals starter Trevor Oaks (0-2), recalled from Triple-A Omaha to take Ian Kennedy’s spot in the rotation, was removed after four innings and 73 pitches. He allowed three runs on two hits and four walks.

”The leadoff walks and not having good command, just really frustrating when I’ve walked like one or two guys an outing and now I’m back to four,” Oaks said.

Oaks had a 0.62 ERA in his last seven Triple-A starts. Kennedy went on the disabled list with a strained left oblique.

THE HOT CORNER

Dozier made his first big league start at third base. Dozier played 401 games at third, starting 281, in the Royals’ minor league system. He had started 35 games at first base, two in right field and two as the DH this season.

TRAINER’S ROOM

Indians: OF Brandon Guyer (bruised left knee) did not play after fouling a pitch off his leg in the ninth inning Tuesday. X-rays were negative. … LHP Andrew Miller (right knee inflammation) is scheduled to throw a bullpen Thursday. … LHP Tyler Olson (shoulder strain) threw 17 pitches for Triple-A Columbus on a rehab assignment. He retired two batters, walked one, struck out one and did not allow a hit.

Royals: 3B Mike Moustakas (back spasms) was held out of the lineup for the second straight game. ”It’s not serious at all Peyton Manning Jersey ,” manager Ned Yost said. ”He came in today and still felt it a little bit. With an off day tomorrow, there’s no sense in pushing it.” … OF Bubba Starling (oblique strain) was sent to the rookie-level Arizona League to begin a rehab assignment. Starling, a 2011 first-round draft pick, has not played since May 10 with Triple-A Omaha.

UP NEXT

Indians: Open a homestand Friday against the Athletics with RHP Carlos Carrasco (8-5, 4.24 ERA) starting. Oakland will counter with RHP Paul Blackburn (2-2, 6.46).

Royals: RHP Jason Hammel (2-10, 5.56) starts Friday night against the Red Sox at Kauffman Stadium. LHP Chris Sale (8-4, 2.41) gets the ball for Boston.

—

The Tennessee Titans keep wrapping up their own players with defensive lineman DaQuan Jones the latest to reach agreement on a new deal keeping him on the roster.

The Titans announced Wednesday that they have agreed on a multi-year deal with Jones after reaching a new deal to keep right guard Josh Kline and signing defensive end David King to a one-year deal earlier in the day.

Tennessee also announced they tendered a contract to left guard Quinton Spain, a restricted free agent.

Financial terms on the deals were not released.

A fourth-round pick out of Penn State in 2014, Jones has started 45 of his 51 games, and the 6-foot-4 Kyle Fuller Jersey , 322-pound lineman was playing his best with a career-high 3 陆 sacks before tearing a bicep that put him on injured reserve Dec. 4 .

General manager Jon Robinson claimed Kline off waivers from New England in September 2016. Kline has started 30 games at right guard for Tennessee on a line that allowed the third fewest sacks (63) and blocked for the third most rushing yards (4,020) in the NFL.

An undrafted free agent from Kent State, Kline started 18 of 33 games in New England and won the 2015 Super Bowl.

The Titans agreed to terms Tuesday with a pair of former Patriots . The deals with cornerback Malcolm Butler and running back Dion Lewis will be signed once free agency begins.

Spain, undrafted out of West Virginia, has started 33 of his 35 games played over the past three seasons for the Titans.

King signed a one-year deal after being poised to become an exclusive rights free agent after playing seven games with four tackles and a sack for Tennessee. The Titans picked him up last September in a trade with Kansas City, and King was a seventh-round pick by Philadelphia in 2013 out of Oklahoma.

He also feels that his extended stay on the shelf because of knee problems has left him better equipped for the job than he was before getting hurt in 2016.

“Yeah, I would say I’ve grown a lot as a leader,” Tannehill said Steven Stamkos Jersey , via the Miami Herald. “I’ve grown a lot as a person just because of the adversity that I’ve faced — like I said, being able to take a step back and watch from a different perspective, taking in all that information Shane Doan Jersey , filing it away, writing things down.
Ivan Provorov Jersey

The Patriots have mostly been conservative in recent NFL drafts Ivan Provorov Jersey , often moving down on the board or being content to search for gems in the undrafted player pool.

This year they don't have that luxury with several holes to fill, including one behind 40-year-old quarterback Tom Brady.

New England has plenty to work with. It holds two first-round picks and five selections in the first 95 picks. It shapes up to be a busy weekend that could go a long way in molding the post-Brady era.

Coach Bill Belichick said everything is on the table.

"We evaluate what our options are and try to do what we feel like is best, whether that's stay and pick a player, move up for a player, move back and trade into next year," he said.

"We've traded draft picks for players on the day of the draft; we did that last year. So, whatever the opportunities are, we'll evaluate them as they come."

With Brady under center, the quarterback position wasn't a huge priority for most of his career.

Brady is coming off an MVP season, but backup Brian Hoyer is the only other quarterback on the roster.

New England most recently drafted Jacoby Brissett (third round, 91st overall) in 2016. But the Patriots haven't selected a quarterback in the first two rounds since they picked up Jimmy Garoppolo in the second round (62nd overall) in 2014.

The last quarterback that New England selected in the first round? Drew Bledsoe in 1993.

Garoppolo seemed like Brady's successor until his surprise midseason trade to San Francisco last season. That deal followed the preseason trade of Brissett to Indianapolis.

New England got a second-round pick in return for Garoppolo, which is one of the bargaining chips it could use to select one of the sought-after prospects in this year's deep quarterback class.

Players such as UCLA's Josh Rosen and Louisville's Lamar Jackson could be targets if the Patriots move up. But so are players expected to be available later such as Oklahoma State's Mason Rudolph Mario Lemieux Jersey , Richmond's Kyle Lauletta and Toledo's Logan Woodside.

NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock said he thinks New England will have to consider Jackson, but questions whether it would be too drastic a move away from Brady's style.

"I think the Patriots are as comprehensive as any team I've ever been around. The homework they do is amazing," Mayock said. "So I think they throw a wide net, and they look at a lot of people."

HIGHLY DECORATED

The Patriots have 16 first-team All-Pro selections via the draft since 2000, which ranks behind only the Panthers (18), Cowboys (17) and Seahawks (17). In addition, the Patriots lead the NFL with 63 Pro Bowl selections via the draft since 2000. Next are the Cowboys (62) and Chargers (50).

OTHER PRIORITIES

While the quarterback position has gotten a lot of attention, New England has perhaps even more glaring needs on the offensive line, as well as at linebacker and cornerback.

The Patriots lost both of their starting tackles in free agency when Nate Solder signed with the Giants and Cam Fleming signed with the Cowboys. They also need another dependable option at linebacker to help Dont'a Hightower and Kyle Van Noy.

The same need is there at cornerback following Malcolm Butler's mysterious Super Bowl benching and his subsequent free agency signing by the Titans.

UCLA's Kolton Miller and Notre Dame's Mike McGlinchey are likely on New England's wish list at tackle. Alabama's Rashaan Evans is a name to watch early as a possible pickup at linebacker. UCF's Mike Hughes is a candidate at cornerback.

HITS, MISSES AND BARGAINS

The Patriots have had draft success on both sides of the ball recently. Garoppolo and 2017 Super Bowl star James White (fourth round, 130th overall in 2014) stand out on offense.

Defensively, safety Duron Harmon has been everything they hoped for when they took him in the third round in 2013. He's appeared in 16 regular-season games each of the past four seasons and led the team with four interceptions in 2017.

New England also got a huge bargain in 2015 when it selected defensive end Trey Flowers in the fourth round (101st overall). An injury kept him sidelined for all but one game his rookie season Youth Matthew Tkachuk Jersey , but he's bounced back to have 13陆 sacks over the past two seasons.

But there have been high-profile misses. Cornerback and punt returner Cyrus Jones has struggled to stay on the field after the Patriots used a second-round pick (60th overall) on him in 2016. He spent most of his rookie season in the doghouse because of five fumbles. Jones then missed the 2017 season after suffering a knee injury in the preseason finale.

SAN FRANCISCO — Two teams that looked a bit more like they hoped to look all season Thursday night will go head-to-head for the second straight game when the San Diego Padres take on the San Francisco Giants on Friday.

On the same night when the Padres were able to put Wil Myers and Eric Hosmer in the lineup together for just the ninth time this season, the Giants had their 1-2 pitching combination of Madison Bumgarner and Mark Melancon going strong in a 3-0 victory in the opener of a four-game series.

The Giants’ third straight victory was more than just a streak-extender, catcher Buster Posey insisted afterward.

“Bum is such a presence,” he said of the left-handed ace. “Even when he’s not pitching that night, he’s lurking. The other team knows he’s there. It’s a nice advantage for us to have.”

Bumgarner recorded his first win of the season Thursday in the same game in which Melancon notched his first save of the year.

The duo, who were viewed as a potential high-powered tag-team act when Melancon was signed as a free agent before the start of the 2017 season, worked the win/save thing for the first time as teammates.

Melancon was pressed into ninth-inning duties because of the broken finger sustained by closer Hunter Strickland earlier in the week.

If all goes well, the Giants might be afforded the luxury of moving Strickland back to a set-up role when he returns in August, presuming Melancon can continue to display the stuff that overpowered the top of the San Diego order on just 13 pitches to complete Thursday’s shutout.

Among the guys Melancon set down were Myers, who grounded out, and Hosmer, who struck out.

They combined to go 0-for-7 in their new setting — atop the San Diego order.

Myers Youth Chris Kunitz Jersey , who suffered arm and oblique injuries in spring training and the first month of the season, was playing Thursday for the first time since April 28.

“They’re our guys,” Padres manager Andy Green assured. “Every single team has a couple guys you look to rely on offensively to anchor you. They’re our guys. They are the two guys that we expect to anchor us, and when you’re missing part of that anchor it can be tough.”

The anchor looked a bit rusty against Bumgarner, who worked eight three-hit innings, but they will get a shot at Giants right-hander Chris Stratton (8-4, 4.22 ERA) in the second game of the series.

With Myers out of the lineup, Stratton threw seven shutout innings, allowing just one hit, in a 7-0 win over the Padres in April. It improved his career numbers to 2-1 with a 3.21 ERA against them in three games, including two starts.

Stratton enters the game on a nice roll, having lost just once in his last seven starts dating back to May 9.

He will be opposed by Padres left-hander Clayton Richard (6-6 Kris Letang Jersey , 4.31), who has won three in a row, allowing just six earned runs in 20 innings.

But the 34-year-old has struggled in his career against the Giants, going 6-8 with a 4.58 ERA in 22 games, including 19 starts.

He has pitched 13 times (10 starts) in San Francisco, going 4-4 with a 5.75 ERA.

Among those who have teed off on Richard are Posey, who has gone 12-for-32 (.375) with two home runs, and Andrew McCutchen, who also has homered twice in just 12 at-bats.

The Washington Wizards went cold in the final quarter of their final game of the regular season – and it cost them.

The Wizards shot 5 for 25 in the fourth quarter and 34 percent for the game Authentic Joe Pavelski Jersey , losing 101-92 to the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night and finishing eighth in the Eastern Conference playoff seeding.

”We just couldn’t make any shots tonight. Nobody had a shot fall consistently other than Jodie (Meeks),” coach Scott Brooks said. ”The Magic made the plays when they wanted, when they needed to, and we didn’t. They played better than us tonight.”

Meeks came off the bench with five 3-pointers to score a game-high 18 points for Washington, which lost five of its final six games. A win would have pulled the Wizards (43-39) up to seventh place and a first-round playoff series against Boston. Instead, they will play Toronto in the opening round.

”I was telling the guys in the locker room that we don’t condone any losses, but we throw this one out. We move on,” said Bradley Beal, who scored 13 points. ”We shot ourselves in the foot. We have done it all year.

”Now we are the eighth seed and we just have to go and compete.”

Rodney Purvis scored 16 points to lead Orlando, while Mario Hezonja finished with 15 points, eight rebounds and six assists.

Arron Afflalo hit five of six shots in the second quarter in leading Orlando to a 55-45 halftime lead.

Washington regained the lead early in the fourth quarter Aleksander Barkov Jersey , but a 3-pointer by Purvis put Orlando ahead to stay at 84-81. After a layup by Beal pulled the Wizards to within two at 86-84 with 4:34 left, they went more than three minutes without scoring while Orlando pulled ahead by 10.

Brooks decided to rest guard John Wall, who had played 36 minutes in Tuesday night’s win over Boston.

”Let’s face it, any time you lose one of the best players in the league, it puts your team in a tough position,” Brooks said. ”We’re a different team with him, like any team would be. He’s dynamic, he’s explosive, gets easy points for all of us.”

Easy points weren’t easy to come by Wednesday night.

”To see us take a playoff team that needed a win and hold them to 34 percent shooting, I’m very proud of that,” Magic coach Frank Vogel said.

The Magic (25-25) played the second half without Aaron Gordon John Hayden Jersey , Nikola Vucevic, D.J. Augustin and Bismack Biyombo, who combined for 26 points and 10 rebounds in the first half.

”It doesn’t mean much, but it’s always better than losing,” Vucevic said.

Magic forward Marreese Speights was ejected with 8:59 left in the third quarter after elbowing Marcin Gortat in the face while both were walking up the court. A double technical was called on the play.

BATTLE-TESTED?

Gortat said the Wizards are confident first-round underdogs. ”We have a team with a lot of veterans. We’ve been playing together a long time and we have been in big battles in the past,” he said. ”We need to play our game with a lot better effort than we did today.”

TIP-INS

Wizards: F Otto Porter did not play because of a lower right leg strain. Brooks said Porter’s playoff availability is undetermined. … Beal started all 82 games this season.

Magic: With 13 3-pointers, a team record was set with 844 for the season, three more than in 2009-10. ”We’re just catching up with the rest of the league,” Vogel said. … Biyombo played in all 82 games and has missed only one game in the last three seasons.

UP NEXT

Wizards: First round of the playoffs against Toronto.

Magic: End of season.

After spending most of his first four seasons in Minnesota as a part-time back, Jerick McKinnon wanted to find a spot in free agency where he could show off his ability as a featured runner.

San Francisco 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan saw enough from his film over those years to decide he was the player they wanted to be their starting running back, giving him a four-year deal that will guarantee him nearly $12 million in 2018.

"It was big for me Authentic Justin Bailey Jersey ," McKinnon said Thursday. "It was what I was hoping to have and looking for instead of staying in Minnesota and being in that third-down back role. I was looking for that opportunity. I'm glad this organization, this team, coach Shanahan felt strong enough about me and brought me in. I believe it's the perfect fit."

The 49ers said they heavily targeted McKinnon and center Weston Richburg as players they wanted to acquire early in free agency. Richburg agreed to a five-year deal on Wednesday and both players were introduced at a news conference Thursday.

McKinnon spent four years in Minnesota mostly as a backup after being drafted in the third round in 2014 after playing mostly quarterback in college at Georgia Southern. He has rushed for 1,918 yards with average of 4.0 yards per carry, has 142 catches for 984 yards, and has scored 12 touchdowns.

McKinnon had his most productive season last year when he ran for a career-high 570 yards,, while setting personal bests with 51 catches for 421 yards.

The addition of McKinnon replaces Carlos Hyde, who is leaving as a free agent for Cleveland. McKinnon has more speed and is a better receiving threat than Hyde and should fit well into Shanahan's offense.

"He's good enough to make it as a runner alone in this league. He's good enough to make it in the pass game as just a third down threat alone, but when you can do both of those, it gives you a lot of freedom as a coach Brent Burns Jersey ," Shanahan said. "Based off of what downs you put him in and that when you do put him in, the defense doesn't know exactly what type of plays you're trying to run because he can do it all."

Richburg spent the past four seasons with the New York Giants but played only four games last year because of a concussion. He began his career as a left guard before moving to center in 2015. He played there the past three seasons and is considered one of the top pass-blocking players at the position and has the athleticism to thrive in Shanahan's zone-running scheme.

The Niners are hoping Richburg has a similar impact in San Francisco as Alex Mack had in Atlanta when he joined the Falcons when Shanahan was offensive coordinator there.

"I've been around some real good ones in my career," Shanahan said. "He's put it all on tape and he looks right there with all those guys and that's why I value him a ton off the tape. Didn't know a ton about him until I turned on the tape and it was as good as I've seen."

With Richburg in place, the Niners traded last year's starting center Daniel Kilgore to Miami in a deal that included a swap of seventh-round picks. The 49ers had signed Kilgore to a three-year extension last month but felt Richburg was the better option at center so worked to find a new spot for Kilgore.

It's been a busy offseason already for San Francisco. The Niners signed quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to a five-year deal last month before he even hit free agency, signed cornerback Richard Sherman after he was cut by Seattle, re-signed defensive lineman Cassius Marsh and offensive lineman Garry Gilliam and gave an extension to receiver Marquise Goodwin.

The team also signed defensive lineman Jeremiah Attaochu to a one-year deal Thursday to help bolster the pass rush and still could make a few more moves to upgrade a team that won its final five games last season after Garoppolo took over as starter to finish 6-10.

"We feel like we've improved our team greatly and that excites us," general manager John Lynch said.
