If the Colts want to upgrade their slot from Chester Rogers, grabbing Diontae Johnson in the middle rounds would be a great investment. Film Room:The first things that pop are Johnson's release at the line and his route running. He is really advanced in these two areas of his game.Johnson has the deep play ability and after the catch ability to be a big play threat, as well.The return game, however, is where Johnson truly shines. He could be one of the best returners in the league one day. Johnson was one of the top returners in college.InterviewZH: You were a talented player in Florida during your high school career. What went into the decision to attend Toledo?DJ: Coach Candle was the coach at the time, and he came and found me at one of my games that I did real well. I didn’t really know much about the school until I went on a visit. I liked the area and the coaching staff and I felt like it was the right place for me to be at. Toledo stuck with me through everything and stuff like that.ZH: You played alongside two talented receivers in Cody Thompson and Jon’Vea Johnson at Toledo. What was it like to be in such a talented receiver room?DJ: It was good, because we were able to learn from each other. Obviously, we have different playing styles, but just to be able to sit in the film room with them and pick each other’s brains and let each other know what we did wrong here and there was just a good experience. Not too many people get that experience, to be apart of something like that White Pat McAfee Jersey , and it was just great, man.ZH: Would you say that you guys were the best receiving trio in college football?DJ: Yeah no doubt, hands down. The numbers we put up and things we did as a group, I feel like nobody is ever going to do what we did again in my opinion. ZH: Where would you say is your best fit in the NFL? In the slot or on the outside?DJ: I would say slot because of the matchup mismatches and what not. I can play both in or out because I’m so versatile and I have the ability to do just about anything my coaches ask of me.ZH: You were an outstanding special teams player in your career. Do you think that is an area that you can immediately contribute at in the NFL? DJ: Oh yeah, certainly. Just what I can do with the ball in my hand and being able to play kick returner or punt returner gives me a boost for teams. A lot of teams are really high on me because of my ability as a receiver, and that ability to play special teams. I feel like I can come in and help a team out real fast on special teams, and that is really what I want to play. After that, if I get a chance to play offense, I can show what I can do on that side of the ball as well.ZH: I like to ask this of a lot of receivers I interview. What is the key to be a great route runner? What makes a guy elite in this area of their game?DJ: You gotta be able to win at the line of scrimmage. That is where the play starts. If you can’t win at the line of scrimmage, then the route is dead. Obviously, you gotta be able to run every route in the route tree and have good hands, but you gotta win at the line of scrimmage, because that is where the play starts at. ZH: Who in the NFL do you model your game after/compare yourself to?DJ: I watch Stefon Diggs a lot. Just the way he comes out of his breaks, and gets off of the line, and catches the ball in traffic, I really try to model my game after him. Being that we are the same height— he weighs a little bit more than me— I would say that our games are pretty similar and I compare myself to him.ZH: These last two are going to be Colts centered questions. A lot of receivers in this draft don’t play special teams, they are just receivers. I feel like I have the upper hand on them because I can play special teams and receiver. There aren’t too many people that can do things with the ball in their hand like I can and make people miss like I can. I’m just being humble about it but I just feel like I’m better than anybody they compare me to. Last year, Dallas finished 22nd in the league in offense, which is completely unacceptable considering the offense sent five players to the Pro Bowl. There’s something wrong when you send almost half a starting offense to the Pro Bowl, yet rank in the bottom third of the league in offense. But as poorly as the offense performed at times, the Cowboys still won 10 games and made it to the divisional round of the playoffs. How did they do it? Answer: Dak Prescott saved the day late in the game. (And a pretty good defense)By now, we all are aware of Prescott’s history of winning games in the fourth quarter. That’s fantastic. But why is he in that position so much? More specifically, why is the Cowboys offense so bad through the first three quarters? Last week Youth Deion Sanders Jersey , BTB member Batwing88 wrote a Fanpost pondering why Prescott was so much better in the four quarter compared to the first three quarters of the game. We decided to dig a little deeper and look at the points by quarter breakdown and came up with the following results:The Cowboys offense starts off average, struggles in the middle, and then turns it on late in the game. What’s astounding is that as bad as the Cowboys offense is in the second and third quarters, they are conversely great in the fourth. How does that happen? Batwing has a theory and it goes like this...That’s a pretty sound theory.The Cowboys game plan is to establish the run and wear down the defense, but one of the drawbacks of this is that they aren’t allowing Prescott to get into any type of rhythm early. Kellen Moore must change that. Last year, Prescott had seven games where he threw for 245 yards or more. The Cowboys were 6-1 in those games.There’s nothing wrong with a good dose of Ezekiel Elliott, but maybe balance it out a little more. With new weapons like free agent Randall Cobb and pass-catching running back Tony Pollard, the Cowboys certainly are putting the pieces around Prescott to make it possible.In the ‘90’s, the great Norv Turner attacked defenses with a balanced offense, and then turned Emmitt Smith loose in the fourth quarter. That was an outstanding strategy when you consider all the tools he had to make it happen. Moore has many great tools himself, and he needs to bring some of that. They had 12 owners pick teams in a 16-round draft. They were using a PPR format so bonus points for receptions. Of course, fantasy football is not real football, but fantasy drafts can show what knowledgeable NFL observers are thinking about the Cowboys. So let’s check in and see how the Cowboys roster did.Was Ezekiel Elliott the number one overall pick? He was not. That honor went to Saquon Barkley. It’s hard to argue with that. Barkley proved in his rookie year that he is on the elite level of running backs. While Zeke won the rushing title, Barkley was the more productive back overall because of his proficiency in the passing game and the Giants willingness to throw the ball to him more. Given the Giants lack of other weapons at the skill position, they will rely on Barkley even more. Zeke was the second overall pick in the mock, so no problem there.The next Cowboys player to come off the board was Amari Cooper who was the 28th overall pick, taken fourth in the fourth round. Cooper was the 12th receiver taken in the draft, which might seem low until you consider how much the Cowboys run the ball instead of pass. Cooper’s real football value is higher, especially to the Cowboys who looked like a totally different team once he arrived.After that, it was a long wait until another Cowboys player was taken. Michael Gallup was taken in the 11th round, the 126th overall pick. Gallup is up-and-coming, at the end of the year he was proving to be a solid #2 receiver behind Cooper. We’ll have to see if trajectory continues up Youth Darren Woodson Jersey , but there are only so many footballs to go around so unless Kellen Moore transforms the offense, Gallup’s ceiling may be capped by opportunity in a run-heavy offense instead of talent. With pick number six in the 15th round, number 174 overall, Dak Prescott goes off the board.He was the 17th QB chosen. That seems low and a bargain. Prescott is never going to be among the league-leaders in passing yards given the Cowboys run-heavy scheme and his cautiousness with the football. But he does provide added value on the ground and certainly finds the end zone running the ball on a regular basis. Later in round 15 of the mock draft, the Cowboys defense was taken. They were the eighth defense taken, and that is actually a decent tribute to their promise because in fantasy football defenses are prized for their ability to turn the ball over. The Cowboys defense was decidedly middle-of-the-road in that area in 2018. Hopefully that will improve on their numbers in 2019.The final Cowboys pick? No, not Jason Witten. The returning tight end was shut out. It wasn’t Randall Cobb, the new starting slot receiver. It was kicker Brett Maher. He was the ninth kicker taken and the fourth-to-last pick of the whole mock draft.Fantasy football is not a direct correlation to real football, it over-values some things and has no way to measure other things. Still, it’s interesting to see how people view the Cowboys in some respects as we head into the 2019 season.

He’s managed to keep together 21 out of 22 starters (electing not to re-sign Al Woods) while adding a wide receiver to help the offense out in Devin Funchess and adding a pass rusher to help the defense out in Justin Houston. All while still having around $60 million in cap space left and 9 draft picks. Speaking of those 9 draft picks 3 are in the top 60 of the draft. So with only two weeks until the draft Devin Funchess Jersey 2019 , using knowledge of the team and the upcoming draft prospects here is the mock draft. Let’s Go! Round 1 (Pick 26) - Safety - Chauncey Gardner-Johnson- Florida Photo by Sam Greenwood/Getty ImagesAnalysisColts hit the ground running grabbing a versatile do it all safety in Gardner-Johnson. Lawrence isn’t your traditional nose tackle who is becoming extinct in the league. He is a new breed. He can two gap, one gap, stop the run, open it up for fellow teammates and, most importantly, he can get after the quarterback himself! Round 2 (Pick 59) - Wide Receiver - Deebo Samuel - South Carolina Photo by Todd Bennett/GettyImagesAnalysisNow we turn our attention to the offensive side of the ball with Deebo Samuel. Samuel was let down in college by poor quarterback play but still managed to show off just what he can bring to the NFL. Adding Samuel to the Colts wide receiver corps will only help take this offense to the next level! Round 3 (Pick 89) - Tight End - Dax Raymond - Utah State Photo by Gregory Shamus/Getty ImagesAnalysisStaying on offense the Colts take Dax Raymond. Raymond is a name many will not have heard about but really should. He’s the prototypical modern tight end in that he’s a strong receiver who feeds off throws to the middle of the field in which he can dominate over linebackers trying to cover him. He has great run after the catch ability and is a big, fast target. He will only add another target and dimension for the Colts and Luck to work with.Round 4 (Pick 129) - Edge - Maxx Crosby - Eastern Michigan Photo by Michael Reaves/Getty ImagesAnalysisThe Colts go back to defense with this pick but this time to the defensive line to take edge rusher Maxx Crosby. Crosby is a smaller school pass rusher who lit up the combine posting impressive numbers in both 40 yard dash (4.66 secs) and 3 cone (6.95 secs) all at 6’5” and 255 lbs. As mentioned, he is a smaller school prospect and did flash potential but needs to be taken with a pinch of salt as he did beat up on some lesser talent. He is a perfect developmental pass rusher who could begin his NFL career backing up the Colts current defensive ends and providing situational pass rush when needed. Round 4 (Pick 135) - Cornerback - Isaiah Johnson - Houston Photo by Thomas B. Shea/Getty ImagesAnalysis Staying on the defensive side of the ball, but this time heading back to the secondary White Joe Haeg Jersey , to select corner Isaiah Johnson. Johnson, a former wide receiver, possesses exactly what Chris Ballard likes in his corners, length, physicality and ball skills. Johnson is 6’2”, snagged 4 interceptions and 12 PBUs in his two years playing corner and can lay a nice hit when necessary. Johnson has the ability to play a variety of coverages, he can play man and zone but also press and off coverage too. His speed (4.4 secs at the combine) allows him to run step for step with wide receivers but also come down hill and tackle to reduce YAC. Round 5 (Pick 164)- Linebacker - Bobby Okereke - StanfordPhoto by Thearon W. Henderson/Getty ImagesAnalysisOn face value the Colts don’t really have a huge need at linebacker after drafting three last year, two of which will likely be starters this year in Darius Leonard at WILL Linebacker and Matthew Adams at SAM Linebacker. Anthony Walker who was drafted in 2017 will man the MIKE Linebacker position. So why a Linebacker? Because depth is how teams win and keep winning and Bobby Okereke provides quality depth. He’s a smaller, athletic linebacker built in the mold of linebackers that Chris Ballard likes. Okereke is an athletic, rangy linebacker who attacks aggressively down hill. He holds up well enough in the run but really shines in coverage. He will be solid depth at the WILL linebacker position for the Colts. Round 6 (Pick 199) - Offensive Tackle - Paul Adams - Missouri Photo by Donald Page/Getty ImagesAnalysis The Colts need to start thinking about the future at tackle, whether it’s Anthony Castonzo’s eventual heir at left tackle or whether the team believes Braden Smith is the future at right tackle or was just a one year stop gap. Reed is an intriguing prospect as he’s played full time edge rusher but also off the ball linebacker too. He’s clearly talented but needs refining and developing by an NFL coaching staff. INDIANAPOLIS 鈥?The Indianapolis Colts‘ season looked lost in early October.At 1-5, they were better positioned for the draft than the playoffs. A defense that showed so much promise in the first three weeks gave up 37 or more points over the next three. Here are three offensive and three defensive players who could break out in the 2019 season:Breakout Candidates Offense:Jack DoyleKelley L Cox-USA TODAY SportsJack Doyle is a 29 year old 6 year veteran in the NFL and has played very good football for the Colts. He’s been Mr. Reliable for the team, and has done whatever has been asked of him, whether it’s blocking, lining up at full back or tight end. Doyle does it all, and does it well. Doyle was seemingly on track for a great season last year until it was derailed by injury. He produced 26 receptions for 245 yards and 2 touchdowns. If we average that out to a full season Doyle would have managed 69 receptions for 654 yards and 5 touchdowns. This year will be a breakout one for Doyle. Expect him to bounce back from the injury and be a focal point of the offense. Doyle will likely eat into Eric Ebron’s targets as Ebron was the only healthy veteran tight end for most of the year. Doyle will resume his role as the Colts number 1 tight end, continue his jack of all trades playing style Womens Ben Banogu 2019 Jersey , and help the offense take that next step this year. Nyheim HinesJay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY SportsThe somewhat forgotten man on the offense and in the running back room, Nyheim Hines was exactly what was expected from him in his rookie season. He now has the experience of being in the league a year, and will be able to take his game to the next level. His "do it all" ability will prove valuable, and he'll likely be lining up at running back, in the slot or even outside, causing mismatches all over the field. Hines has said his target is 1,000 all purpose yards this year, and it would not surprise me if he got that and then some. Big year ahead for Hines. Braden SmithThomas J. Russo-USA TODAY SportsWhen the offensive line finally came together last season and proved itself to be a top 5 unit, many lauded the addition of Quenton Nelson and play of Glowinski, Castonzo and Kelly. But many neglected to mention a rookie college guard playing right tackle. Braden Smith was able to switch positions as a rookie and hold down the position for the season at a high level of play.In his first NFL game in 83 snaps, he allowed one pressure. With this new, more mature Quincy Wilson, he was able to finally produce on the practice field and on game day, putting it all together and showing off a maturity that wasn’t shown previously. Wilson has all the physical tools needed, and now has the mental tools to match. Add in a year of the new scheme and Wilson should be in for a big breakout year and a bigger starting role. With a year of the new scheme under his belt, and a healthy offseason (which he hasn’t had so far in his NFL career), Hooker will be able to justify his first round selection and showcase his talent, leading to a full breakout season. Kemoko Turay Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports Kemoko Turay started off his rookie year as many expected when he was drafted in the second round Youth Chester Rogers Jersey , managing to have a strong impact. However, his year was slowed down by injuries, and ended up with him only managing 4 sacks. Turay is the speedy, edge bending, pass rushing threat that this team needs and Ballard covets so much. According to multiple reports, the former Colts star cornerback got dressed in his street clothes and left the stadium. “[He] pulled himself out of the game,” coach Sean McDermott said. “He communicated to us that he was done.”Davis’ sudden retirement in the middle of the game was a shocker to the Buffalo coaching staff and players. “I never have seen that,” Alexander said. “Pop Warner J'Marcus Webb Jersey Stitched , high school, pros.
