A foursome of former NFL players are attempting to qualify

for the U.S. national curling championships as they dream of representing the United States at the 2020 Winter Olympics. The four players – Jared Allen http://www.thevikingslockerroom.com/authentic-nick-easton-jersey , Michael Roos, Marc Bulger and Keith Bulluck – formed a curling team with the name All-Pro Curling Team as three of the four players were All-Pro football players at some point in their NFL careers. Bulger was a two-time Pro Bowl selection as well.According to Jimmy Golen of the , the group is competing this weekend at the USA Men’s Challenge Round in Minnesota with four spots available for the national championships next month.“Every team in the NFL — whether you’re hot garbage or the defending Super Bowl champions — every coach come August says the same thing: ‘We’re trying to win the Super Bowl,’” Allen said. “We come from that mentality, where we set lofty goals.“Our short term goals are continually to get better: Fundamentals, strategy, sweeping. We know if we master these little things, it will take us a long way.”Allen and Bulger combined with a pair of regular curlers last month and played the U.S. gold medal winning team of John Shuster,Tyler George, Matt Hamilton, John Landsteiner. They lost that match 11-3.“Honestly, they were a little better than I had expected,” Hamilton said. “All in all Laquon Treadwell Jersey , Jared was technically pretty sound. But at the end of the day, I’ve seen thousands of curling shots and situations and that is ultimately going to win us more games.”The group is now going at it on their own, losing their first match of the qualifiers 10-1 to a Seattle-based team. Nevertheless, the former NFL stars are committed to getting better and competing in their new sport.“The message is: We want to bring attention to it. We want to have fun with it,” Allen said. “But we’re dead serious about what we’re trying to accomplish.” EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Kirk Cousins was happy with the victory, of course — a road win against a team Minnesota had never beaten away from home. But the star quarterback knows the Vikings‘ offense can be even better.Cousins threw two touchdown passes, Latavius Murray ran for two scores, and the Vikings pulled away in the second half to beat the New York Jets 37-17 on Sunday for their third straight victory.“Any time you score 37 points on the road, you’re doing something right,” Cousins said. “But there are times where it wasn’t good enough. We are so grateful for defense and special teams today because it gave us the opportunity to go out and score points.”The Vikings (4-2-1) intercepted Jets rookie Sam Darnold three times and also recovered a fumbled snap to help lift them to their first road win against the Jets after losing the first five meetings away from home.“We did some good things, but there are a lot of things we can work on,” wide receiver Adam Thielen said. “We were not moving the ball enough and there were a lot of plays I want back Womens Xavier Rhodes Jersey , but it’s always good to get a win.”Minnesota couldn’t get much going consistently on offense, mostly because of going 2 of 15 on third downs. In his first game against the Jets (3-4) since spurning their massive offer in free agency, Cousins was far from spectacular, but made some big plays late. With the game still hanging in the balance and the Vikings facing fourth-and-8 from the 34, Cousins connected with Aldrick Robinson for a TD to seal it.“We had so many opportunities to put that game away earlier in the game, and didn’t do it,” coach Mike Zimmer said. “We have to overcome ourselves on some of those things.”Cousins, 25 of 40 for 241 yards, opted to turn down New York’s three-year, $90 million deal in the offseason and instead chose to go to Minnesota, which signed him to a deal worth $6 million less. After Cousins’ decision, the Jets turned their attention to the draft, where they selected Darnold with the No. 3 overall pick.As expected Ben Gedeon Jersey , Cousins was the target of criticism of Jets fans and New York-area media.“I never read it, so I don’t even have any knowledge to process it or incorporate it into my approach,” Cousins said. “I believe ignorance is bliss and I try to stay as ignorant as possible.”Here are some other things to know about the Vikings’ win over the Jets:SAM STRUGGLESIn their first meeting, Cousins came out on top — while Darnold had arguably his worst game on a cold, windy day .The rookie was 17 of 42 for 206 yards with a TD pass to Chris Herndon and a TD run, but was intercepted three times as New York’s two-game winning streak ended. After going 6 of 9 for 87 yards and a touchdown with a 135.0 quarterback rating in the opening quarter, Darnold finished with the three INTs and a dismal 34.4 rating.“I’ve just got to find completions,” Darnold said. “That’s really it. And, we’ve got to do a better job executing.”THIELEN STILL DEALIN’Thielen became the fifth player in NFL history to get at least 100 yards receiving in seven consecutive games, catching nine passes for 110 yards and a touchdown. He reached the milestone with a 21-yard catch in the fourth quarter. He joined Detroit’s Calvin Johnson (eight, 2012), Denver’s Demaryius Thomas (seven, 2014) http://www.thevikingslockerroom.com/authentic-mackensie-alexander-jersey , Dallas’ Michael Irvin (seven, 1995) and Houston’s Charley Hennigan (seven, 1961) to accomplish the feat.He and Hennigan are the only players to do so in his team’s first seven games to open the season.“Stats don’t necessarily say how good you played,” Thielen said. “I’m looking forward to looking at the film and making sure I continue to get better.”THIRD-DOWN TERRORSBoth the Vikings and Jets will need to improve in third-down situations after this one.Minnesota was 2 of 15, while New York was 2 of 13.The Vikings’ first conversion didn’t come until midway through the third quarter on Thielen’s 13-yard catch after being 0 for 8 up to that point. The Jets’ first conversion came late in the third on Darnold’s 6-yard run on third-and-5.HURTINGJets running back Bilal Powell (neck) and safety Doug Middleton (chest/shoulder) left with injuries and were scheduled to undergo tests.New York could be severely short-handed at safety. Middleton was starting in place of Marcus Maye, who’s sidelined with a broken thumb. That leaves only Jamal Adams and Terrence Brooks as healthy players at the position.Minnesota cornerback Xavier Rhodes left with a sprained ankle, but Zimmer said, “I don’t think it’s a big deal.” Same for linebacker Anthony Barr, who injured a hamstring.WHOOPSJets receiver Robby Anderson apologized for tossing the ball at an official late in the fourth quarter after an incompletion, drawing a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty — and a possible fine from the NFL later in the week.“It was just frustration and wanting to make a play and us losing a pretty tough game,” Anderson said, adding that he didn’t intend to hit the official with the ball. “It wasn’t anything malicious. It was just a reaction.”

(AP) — Green Bay had the ball in field goal range, on the cusp of breaking a fourth-quarter tie, when Patriots lineman Lawrence Guy knocked the ball out of Aaron Jones‘ grasp .Instead of taking their first lead of the game, the Packers watched the Patriots march to back-to-back scores and put away a 31-17 victory on Sunday night.“It was obviously a big play in the game,” Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy said. “That was a turning point.”One week after fumbling away a late chance to defeat the then-unbeaten Los Angeles Rams, the Packers blew another fourth-quarter opportunity against the defending AFC champions, and Tom Brady — with some passing help from receiver Julian Edelman — led the Patriots to their sixth straight win.“Jonesy’s had a really nice year for us, so that one play obviously doesn’t lose the game,” quarterback Aaron Rodgers said. “But it’s plays like that — by all of us, myself included — that have just hindered us from finishing games out.”In just the second matchup ever between Brady, a three-time NFL MVP, and Rodgers, who has won the award twice Rashan Gary Jersey Womens , Green Bay (3-4-1) played the Patriots even for 45 minutes before Jones’ fumble stalled their best chance to take the lead.“It’s happening in the worst times,” said Rodgers, who completed 24 of 43 passes for 259 yards and two touchdowns. “When we have to play our best in those crunch times, we haven’t been playing our best.”Brady completed four passes in a row before tossing it back to Edelman, who threw across the field to James White. The Patriots running back scampered for most of the 37 yards to the 2; he ran it in from the 1 for his second score of the game. The Packers failed to get a first down, then Brady hit Josh Gordon inside the 40; he shook off cornerback Tramon Williams before dashing into the end zone.Last week, the Rams kicked a field goal to take a 29-27 lead with 2:05 to play. But Packers kickoff returner Ty Montgomery brought the ball out of the end zone and fumbled, costing Rodgers a chance for a game-winning drive.Against New England, the Packers also settled for a field goal in the first quarter after a delay of game penalty at the 9.“We’re hurting ourselves with negative yardage plays and missed throws and turnovers at the wrong time,” Rodgers said. GREEN BAY, Wis. — Whether it was earlier in his career at New Orleans or the past few seasons in Seattle, two things were common for tight end Jimmy Graham: production and victories. Both are in short supply in his first season with the Green Bay Packers. Graham enters Sunday’s game at Chicago with only two touchdown catches and the Packers with a 5-7-1 record.More Packers coverage from FOX Sports WisconsinBucks’ Wes Matthews loves Wisconsin, is a Vikings fanPreview: Packers look to slow Vikings’ revitalized run gameTop Tweets: Yelich thanks fans for support after season-ending injuryAmos sparks rebuilt Packers defense in debutPackers to be tested again by familiar foe in Zimmer Rashan Gary Green Bay Packers Jersey , Vikings“My numbers suck,” Graham said Friday. “That’s not what it’s about, you know? I just want to win games. If I have one catch for 2 yards and we win, I don’t care. Obviously, it’s not great when you’re not helping us win, and that’s what I see.”Graham, who has played the last two games with a brace to protect a broken thumb, has caught 46 passes for 549 yards. That’s second on the team in receptions, and while the production might wind up being better than it was last season for the Seahawks, when he caught 57 passes for 520 yards, Graham also led all NFL tight ends with 10 touchdowns a year ago. With Seattle in 2016, Graham caught 65 passes for 923 yards. With the Saints from 2011 through 2014, he averaged 89 receptions Rashan Gary Jersey 2019 , 1,099 yards and 11.5 touchdowns. While the Packers probably weren’t expecting the 32-year-old Graham to duplicate that kind of production, they no doubt were expecting more than a couple touchdowns when they signed him to a three-year, $30 million contract in March. For his part, Graham was expecting to join a championship contender. Instead, the Packers fired coach Mike McCarthy after a loss to Arizona on Dec. 2 and could be eliminated from the playoff race on Sunday.“I’ve never lost this much, so it’s obviously not something I’m used to,” Graham said. “I’ll never be OK with losing. I love to win. We’ve got to get back to that. Last week was a great step in the right direction. We’ve just got to do what we can control and try to keep winning.”For the Packers to win back-to-back games for the first time this season, they will have to contain Chicago’s ferocious defense. The Bears enter the game ranked third in points allowed and first in takeaways. Chicago linebacker Khalil Mack has 10 sacks and six forced fumbles. Along with catching the ball, Graham will be part of the plan to keep Mack away from quarterback Aaron Rodgers.12View Gallery Gallery:PHOTOS: Packers vs. FalconsJeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports | Jeff Hanisch“In this offseason, the tight end does a lot of stuff,” Graham said. “I’ve got a lot of responsibilities — just not running routes and out here catching the ball like a receiver. That’s just how it is. I’m just trying to do my job and do what I’m told. . Obviously, we’re going to play a great defense that’s got a great rush. I’ll be a part of stopping that rush White Rashan Gary Jersey , and that’s just how it is.”Graham caught only two passes for 8 yards in the season-opening victory over Chicago. He caught eight passes in the loss to the Cardinals but had only two receptions for 13 yards last week against Atlanta. He had a chance for a 57-yard touchdown reception but couldn’t make the play. The brace, he admitted, has been limiting.“You don’t want to shatter your thumb,” Graham said. “That’s not great, but it is what it is.”Notes: RT Bryan Bulaga, who spent most of the first matchup against Chicago blocking Mack, is doubtful with a knee injury. That means Jason Spriggs is in line for his second consecutive start. … CB Bashaud Breeland (groin/personal reasons) and defensive tackle Kenny Clark (elbow) are questionable. Due to the death of a close friend, Breeland was away from the team on Wednesday and Thursday, according to interim coach Joe Philbin.

Jackson wasn’t drafted. But there’s good news, for Jackson and for Schefter. Jackson will sign with the Bills as a free agent — and the guy who tried to hype Jackson has the scoop. (As one of the resident wiseacres at PFT pointed out in our text chain, Jackson signed “faster than expected.” No, it wasn’t Gantt.)Jackson left Buffalo early, with one year of eligibility remaining. It’s fair to wonder whether if he knew then what he knew now he would have stayed in school for another year.In a more fair football world, he’d be allowed to return to college football for another season. But the warped notion of amateurism prohibits a college player from exploring the possibility of playing in the NFL and then returning to college, even if (like in college) he never actually got paid. A look at which Buffalo Bills have the biggest potential fall leading up to the regular season" OpinionNotesBills training camp 2019Buffalo Bills with the most to lose at training campNew,12commentsA look at which Buffalo Bills have the biggest potential fall leading up to the regular seasonEDTShare this storyShare this on FacebookShare this on TwitterShareAll sharing optionsShareAll sharing options for:Buffalo Bills with the most to lose at training campTwitterFacebookRedditPocketFlipboardEmailWe’re entering the time of year where peak roster competitions are taking shape. From now until the regular season begins, players will seek to demonstrate why their team can’t go on without them. Which Buffalo Bills have the most to lose during this critical time? Here’s a few thoughts on the matter. Don’t be shy about adding your own below.
Shaq LawsonLawson currently sits in an odd limbo. As a result, he’s a player with the most to lose (or gain) during training camp this year. The Bills decided not to pick up Lawson’s fifth-year option Youth John Brown Jerseys , making it look more likely the former first-round pick will hit free agency after the season. Though Lawson and Trent Murphy had an identical number of snaps on defense, the Bills appeared to favor Murphy when he was healthy. Lawson’s 2019 is about playing for his second contract, whether it’s with the Bills or elsewhere. As it stands currently, he’s not in a position of strength for negotiations. A big year is needed to get things headed in Shaq’s favor and that needs to start now by making sure he’s not overshadowed by Murphy. Zay JonesWhile Zay Jones was the number-one receiver for the Bills in almost all measures last year, he shouldn’t feel safe. Despite limited playing time, Robert Foster began to shine brighter than Jones later in the season. The Bills also added many new faces to the group this offseason including Cole Beasley, John Brown, Duke Williams, Cam Phillips, and David Sills V. Making matters worse for Zay John Brown Jerseys Stitched , he’s missed time already. If just a few things go the wrong way for Jones, he could find himself on the outside looking in. Tyree JacksonTypically an undrafted free agent doesn’t have much to lose, but every rule of thumb gets tossed out the window when it comes to quarterbacks. Matt Barkley absolutely can hold down the fort for a few years at the backup quarterback spot. But Tyree Jackson needs to be gunning for that position himself. If Jackson has any hope of making it further in the league than “camp arm for a couple years” he’ll need to push for a roster spot as soon as possible. A strong camp and preseason could lead him there, whether it’s with the Bills or another team. T.J. YeldonYeldon finds himself in a weird spot in Buffalo. On paper, he’s behind a certain Hall of Famer in Frank Gore and a potential Hall of Famer in LeSean McCoy. Both are getting up there in years (for running backs), which could open up opportunities for depth players such as Yeldon. On the other hand, the running back position is considered one of the more easily replaceable ones in the league. If McCoy and/or Gore fall off the map, it might not be Yeldon who gets called up. With rookies often contributing right away, Devin Singletary could get the nod over Yeldon. Camp impressions can go a long way in making that decision when the time comes. Patrick DiMarcoLast year Patrick DiMarco’s role was reduced to about 16% of the offensive snaps. While he was in on over 50% of special teams snaps, it’s fair to wonder if DiMarco really has much of a role on the team at this point. Lee Smith’s return to Buffalo adds a capable blocker Youth Bruce Smith Jerseys , which is the role DiMarco has primarily played under Sean McDermott. With many teams not even bothering to employ a fullback, it’s possible the Bills see more value in keeping another player at a different position, with tight end seemingly the most likely candidate. As a result of the devaluation of the position, DiMarco might find a smaller market for his services than any other position. Per Spotrac, only 18 teams paid for a fullback last year with one team having two players at the position. In contrast, 31 teams had a long snapper, which has a legitimate claim to the title of “Most Specialized Position.”

New York Giants NewsValentine's ViewsValentine’s Views: There is no quarterback controversy Womens Christopher Slayton Jersey , and other thoughtsNew,205commentsLet’s offer some thoughts as the preseason rolls onEDTWhether it’s a John Mara decision, a Pat Shurmur/Dave Gettleman decision or a combination of all of the above, Eli Manning is going to be the starting quarterback for the New York Giants to begin the 2019 season. He is going to continue to be the starting quarterback until he either proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that he can no longer play at a capable level, which neither I nor the organization believes is currently the case, or the Giants fall hopelessly out of playoff contention. That’s just how it is. There continue to be media members who, while questioning the Giants’ head coach, try to find backdoor ways to get Shurmur to open the door to a quarterback controversy. There are national media members and talking heads who insist there is a quarterback controversy. There are still incredulous, angry fans upset by the recent spate of losing seasons who can’t understand why Manning wasn’t gone years ago.In the eyes of the Giants’ organization, though, there is no controversy.“Eli is our starting quarterback and will start the season,” Mara said last week.“John owns the team, right? We’re on the same page,” Shurmur said on Friday night, when he was once again asked if Daniel Jones supplant Manning by Week 1. “There is really not much more to say. I think I’ve been saying it all along. I just get a sense once in a while that when I answer those questions nobody believes me. Well you heard it from the owner.”Jones has been impressive in his two preseason outings. There is no denying that. He’s been making Gettleman look good for not risking losing him by taking him No. 6 overall and not waiting and hoping he was still there at 17.“Again, I am going to say this — people outside our building seem surprised, but we’re not. That’s why we picked him,” Shurmur said of Jones’ play thus far. “I think he’s making good progress and as he goes along here, he’s checking off all of the boxes. I think when it’s his time to play, he will be ready.”That time isn’t now. The purpose of playing football games is to try and win them. The Giants continue to believe that as long as they can protect him a 16-year veteran with two Super Bowl MVP trophies gives them a better chance to do that in 2019 than a talented kid who has yet to throw a real NFL pass. Maybe Jones would be a Baker Mayfield-esque exception, but most rookie quarterbacks struggle at the beginning. To me Color Rush Julian Love Jersey , the Giants’ position is not hard to understand. The way Manning has thrown the ball all spring and summer, and what looks like best offensive line the Giants have produced in years, should give optimism for the present. Jones brings optimism for the future. What’s wrong with that? The Bears are onto something I gave Chicago Bears coach Matt Nagy a ‘Wet Willie’ for the way he handled Friday’s game against the Giants. Truth is, that was more about Nagy throwing two challenge flags that dragged the game out than it was about him not playing any of his team’s starters.I actually love what the Bears did last week. On Wednesday, the Bears held a 60-play starters vs. starters controlled scrimmage. They set up the situations they wanted to practice and worked their front-line players longer and harder than they would in any preseason game.I love that. I’m also a big fan of teams who are playing each other in preseason games practicing together for a couple of days. It ratchets up the intensity and improves the quality of the work.I am not a big fan of cards practices or first team vs. third team three-quarter speed work where the offense is allowed to catch the ball or the defense is set up to “win.” A cards practice, in case you don’t know, is where players on one side of the ball are shown a card and required to play a defense or run an offensive play that the opponent in the upcoming game is expected to utilize. That may be how regular season practices, which shouldn’t be as physical, are conducted. As we have gotten into preseason games, though, the Giants have conducted a bunch of those types of workouts and I’m just not sure how they help you get ready for the regular season. What the Bears did seems much more productive. It also had the added benefit of giving reserves and guys fighting for roster spots added game snaps.Preseason schedule Am I the only one who finds it ridiculous that three of the four teams the Giants are playing this preseason are also on their regular season schedule? I know the Giants traditionally play the New York Jets and New England Patriots in the preseason. I understand the annual game vs. the Jets. There’s no reason they have to play the Patriots, though. Or the Bears. To me, this is a bad job by the NFL.Preseason is vanilla enough with teams protecting star players and not wanting to show too much of their offensive and defensive schemes. Why show a team you are actually going to play in the regular season anything at all if you can help it.On the interception thrown Friday by Alex Tanney, with the Giants at Chicago’s 1-yard line, Giants coach Pat Shurmur said “I drew that one in the dirt. It was late in the game when I didn’t want to waste some of our red zone plays down there, so I just drew up a naked.”I don’t blame Shurmur at all. The scheduling is really unfortunate. It takes a villageI wrote last week about the Giants’ wide receiving corps and how veterans in the group aren’t worried about the narrative that without Odell Beckham Jr., and now with Golden Tate suspended, the Giants don’t have enough guys to throw to.Then, the Giants went out and completed passes to 14 different players on Friday night.“I have said it all along that it’s going to take a village. To their credit, the veterans may win the day here, these guys who know how to play. They know how to practice Youth Julian Love Jersey , and they know how to play,” Shurmur said. “They are smart. I am fine with drawing them up in the dirt when we see something, and they are smart enough where they can adjust, and some of those things are adjustments. That crew of receivers are all very smart, they are very veteran in a lot of ways and I like them and trust them. “Really, the crux of it all, I think they are a bunch of tough guys. They play a fancy position, but I think they are a bunch of tough guys. I think that wins the day, too.”This is what the Giants are going to do. Spread the ball around, rely on veteran wide receivers who know what they are doing to do their jobs capably. Hope that young speedster Darius Slayton gets healthy and helps stretch the field. FRISCO, Texas (AP) — Ezekiel Elliott insists he’s playing and has no hesitation saying the NFL rushing title is on his mind with the Dallas Cowboys locked into the fourth playoff seed as NFC East champions going into their regular-season finale at the New York Giants. If the league rushing leader does play, it won’t be because coach Jason Garrett wants him to hold off Todd Gurley of the Los Angeles Rams and rookie Saquon Barkley, who will be on the opposing sideline with the Giants (5-10) on Sunday.“We don’t talk very much about individual statistics for any of our players,” Garrett said. “What we’re trying to do is prepare the right way and play the right way each week to make our team the best it could be. And that’s really where our sole focus is.”With 1,434 yards rushing, Elliott is 183 ahead of Gurley, who could miss the game against San Francisco with a minor knee injury as the Rams try to secure a first-round bye along with top-seeded New Orleans.Barkley trails by 236 yards, so even if Elliott doesn’t play, it would take a huge game from one of the two behind him to keep the former Ohio State star from winning his second rushing title in three years.Elliott led the NFL as a rookie with 1,631 yards in 2016, and had the highest yards-per-game average last season when he served a six-game suspension for domestic violence allegations. The 2016 All-Pro said it’s easier to consider individual honors with the focus already shifting to the playoffs before a Week 17 game with nothing on the line.He just doesn’t want anyone mistaking that honesty for him being comfortable with the subject matter.“I don’t really like talking about these other little things Womens Julian Love Jersey ,” Elliott said. “I think we all know what the big goal in mind is, and I think that’s what’s most important. I think that’s what should be talked about.”Elliott is on the verge of joining Earl Campbell, Eric Dickerson, Emmitt Smith and Edgerrin James as backs to win at least two rushing titles in their first three seasons since the 1970 merger.Campbell, a Hall of Famer along with Dickerson and NFL career rushing leader and former Dallas star Smith, is the only one in that group to do it all three years.“I think Zeke’s had a great year,” offensive coordinator Scott Linehan said. “He’s earned it. He’s had some games where he’s had to grind out, old school, 100-yard games. It’s not like he had three or four games where he had 200 yards. He’s had consistently around 100 each game.”Elliott wants to play because he believes the Cowboys (9-6) need to maintain the momentum of six wins in seven games, a surge that took them from 3-5 to the division title.Dallas played from ahead after an 11-game winning streak while winning the NFC East two years ago, led by the sensational debuts of Elliott and quarterback Dak Prescott, the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year that season.Prescott missed his backfield mate when the Cowboys lost their first three games without the suspended Elliott last season, a skid that ultimately kept them out of the playoffs even though Dallas wasn’t eliminated until Elliott’s first game back. Now things look a lot like they did two years ago: Dallas headed to the postseason with the NFL’s leading rusher.“He doesn’t really talk about it too much,” Prescott said. “I know he’s not a big stats guy but obviously him being the competitor, I know inside he wants it. I know he really wants it as I want it for him and I’m pretty sure the offensive line and everybody on this team wants it for him.”And Elliott wants to play to get it, not sit and wait for it as he did two years ago in a meaningless regular-season finale against Philadelphia before a playoff bye and divisional loss to Green Bay.“We are built a little bit different,” Elliott said. “We definitely rely more on our intensity and how hard we play and be in a groove. This is the right thing to do.”And by that Elliott means playing the star running back.

If you play off him, you give him too much space. Play up on him, he gets behind you. He’s a hard guy to defend. The quarterback can throw it deep. He stretches the whole field. They have a lot of run-pass option plays. If you stop the run Youth Matthew Slater Jerseys , you’re light outside. If you’re heavy outside, you’re light inside. They do a good job. They can move the ball. They score a lot of points, got a lot of explosive players. Hill’s one of them but they’ve got a bunch of them.”Belichick then was asked whether Hill reminds Belichick of Eric Metcalf, who played for Belichick in Cleveland.“No Matthew Slater Jerseys Stitched ,” Belichick said. There’s the Bill we know and love. The rivalry really is back on.With the Patriots dumping quarterback Brian Hoyer and not closing the door on bringing him back, the Colts have pounced.Indianapolis has added Hoyer via a three-year $12 million deal. Per a source with knowledge of the terms, $7 million is fully guaranteed at signing. The other $2 million reflects an injury guarantee in 2020. Hoyer also can earn $1 million in incentives. The Patriots quickly re-acquired Hoyer in 2017, after trading Jimmy Garoppolo to the 49ers. He served as the backup for the balance of that season and all of 2018. And he drew praise for his role in helping prepare the Patriots to face various opponents by his running of the scout team.Hoyer’s knowledge of the Kyle Shanahan offense (which is used by Rams coach Sean McVay) came in handy in Super Bowl LIII Kenny Britt Jersey , which helped the Patriots realize that the Rams “don’t have an answer for all-out pressure.”His experiences and recall will come in handy this season for the Colts, even though the rivalry with the Patriots won’t be renewed until the playoffs, if both teams make it there. Along the way, Hoyer will have a chance to help guide Chad Kelly on the right path when he returns from a two-game suspension. And it’s now clear that Womens Adam Butler Jersey , when Kelly returns, he’ll likely be No. 3 behind Jacoby Brissett and Hoyer.

The Jets won on Sunday Chuma Edoga Jersey Draft , which means it is our happy duty to award a game ball. There were plenty of standout performances which would merit game ball consideration on most weeks, including those of Robby Anderson and Leonard Williams. I think the pick is pretty easy for this game, though.Isaiah Crowell set a new Jets franchise record with 219 rushing yards. He needed only 15 carries to get those yards Chuma Edoga NFL Jersey , leaving him with a ridiculous 14.6 yard average per carry. He became just the fourth player in NFL history to exceed 200 yards in a single game with 15 or fewer carries. The Jets have been quite open that they believe the key to success on offense is through running the football. They don’t want to put too much on the plate of their rookie quarterback, which requires rushing the football effectively.Things went according to plan this week, mainly because of Crowell. He gets my game ball as a result.Who gets yours?Trumaine Johnson misses practice with a hamstring strain The Jets returned to practice today after their second preseason game. They did so without their number one cornerback Chuma Edoga NFL Draft , Trumaine Johnson. Head coach Todd Bowles revealed that Johnson suffered a hamstring strain in Thursday’s game against the Washington Redskins.Johnson is one of the most important players on the team. Without a proven pass rusher, the Jets will depend on their coverage to shut down opposing passing attacks, and the Jets paid Johnson big money in free agency to handle the other team’s best receiver.Still weeks away from the start of the regular season Chuma Edoga Buffalo Bills Jersey , Johnson has plenty of time to mend. The Jets have wisely been cautious with injuries during the preseason, sitting players in games who were healthy enough to practice during the week. There is nothing at stake in preseason games so it is smart to sit banged up players, even if they would be capable of suiting up in a regular season game. This makes me believe there is a possibility we have seen the last of Johnson until Week 1.

) Color Rush Dexter Williams Jersey

If attendance at the team’s annual shareholder meeting means anything (and it probably doesn’t) Color Rush Dexter Williams Jersey , the Packers are currently moving in the wrong direction. The very last line of the article in the story regarding Wednesday night’s annual gathering points out that attendance as “well below normal at 4,200.”That would seem to require further analysis, or at least historical comparison. For example, the article could have mentioned that, in 2018,5,900 showed up. It could have mentioned that, in 2017, 7,000 attended. It could have mentioned, as last year’s item in the same publication did, that the record attendance came in 1998, with 18,707.It’s unclear why the trend has begun moving so sharply in the wrong direction. Yes, the event can be viewed online; but home games can be seen on TV Tramon Williams Jersey , too. Fans still show up for the real thing — and Packers fans used to show up in much bigger numbers to witness the annual shareholder meeting.Maybe two straight years of no playoffs and skepticism about where the team is going from here under a first-year, first-time head coach is starting to poke holes in hearts filled with cheese. Or maybe, given that it’s been several years since the team sold new shares of non-stock stock, the novelty that comes from legitimately being able to refer to the team as “we” has worn off.Regardless, the owners of the team aren’t as engaged as they were not that long ago — and definitely not as engaged as they were in 1998. Though there are probably more to come, we know of three new Packers who will receive bonuses for signing in Green Bay after the draft."WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections The APC PodcastPackers Film RoomFantasy Football AdvicePackers as UDFAsNew,80commentsThough there are probably more to come, we know of three new Packers who will receive bonuses for signing in Green Bay after the draft.CDTShareTweetShareShareCurtis Bolton, Greg Roberts, Javien Hamilton got signing bonuses from Packers as UDFAsKevin Jairaj-USA TODAY SportsSigning bonuses for undrafted players typically can give a fan a read on what players are poised to make a legitimate run at a roster spot in training camp. So far, Acme Packing Company has heard word of 11 undrafted free agents signing with the Green Bay Packers, but only three who have received signing bonuses as part of those contracts. The three players, and their signing bonus values, are as follows:Curtis Bolton, ILB Cheap Dexter Williams Jersey , Oklahoma: $7,000 (per Jim Owczarski)Greg Roberts, EDGE Baylor: $7,000 (per Aaron Wilson)Javien Hamilton, DB, Ole Miss: $4,200 (per Jim Owczarski)Bolton was a one-year starter at Oklahoma who had a pre-draft visit with the Packes. However, in that one year, he racked up a ridiculous 142 total tackles, 12 of them for losses, with 4.5 sacks. At 6-foot and 228 pounds, Bolton posted a solid 4.59-second Pro Day at his Pro Day and should compete for a spot on special teams with James Crawford and seventh-round draft pick Ty Summers.Roberts, a 6-foot-5, 258-pound college defensive end, never racked up substantial stats despite starting at least six games in each of his final three seasons. However Dexter Williams Jersey Womens , that may be due in part to Baylor’s defensive struggles, as they fielded a below-average defense in each of those years. Roberts did have a solid workout at Pro Day, with a 4.73-second 40 and a 7.11-second 3-cone drill. He also blocked a pair of field goal attempts as a junior, and given the Packers’ investment at edge rusher, his route to the roster would almost certainly come on special teams as well. The final of these three players, Hamilton, is a bit of an unusual player for the Packers, as he stands just 5-foot-10 flat. In addition, he was only a part-time starter for Ole Miss, starting just eight games after coming in from junior college for 2017. Still, he recorded three interceptions as a junior and posted a 4.51-second 40 and 39-inch vertical at Pro Day.The dollar amounts of the signing bonuses here are not enough to cause significant concern if any of the players are unable to push for a roster spot. However, it does represent at least some investment in each of them, and should be taken as a recognition that there was a market for their services outside of Green Bay.

CARSON Vosean Joseph NFL Draft , Calif. (AP)Los Angeles Rams cornerback Casey Hayward felt ”a little disrespected” that the Buffalo Bills decided to let rookie quarterback Nathan Peterman make his first career start against their defense. The Chargers gave Peterman a forgettable introduction to the NFL, intercepting him five times in the first half and getting six takeaways total in a 54-24 demolition of the Bills on Sunday. Hayward said the Bills were ”tripping” to let the fifth-round pick replace Tyrod Taylor. ”You’re starting a rookie against a really good defense. We got some good edge rushers. We got some good guys in the secondary, so we had to take advantage of that,” Hayward said. ”When they announced it, I’m like, `OK? Against us?”’ Linebacker Korey Toomer had a 59-yard pick-six early in the game, and Hayward had two interceptions. Tre Boston and Trevor Williams also picked off Peterman, who became the second quarterback since 1991 to throw five interceptions in his first start. Keith Null threw five interceptions with the St. Louis Rams in 2009. Joey Bosa had a strip-sack of Taylor in the third quarter, and Melvin Ingram returned the loose ball 39 yards for a touchdown. Taylor, who started the first nine games of the season Vosean Joseph NFL Jersey , replaced Peterman to start the second half. ”No matter who’s back there, we are going to do what we do,” Ingram said. ”We’re going to try to get after the quarterback, and our DBs, they was in they jack mode today.” The Chargers had 11 takeaways in their first eight games. They bolstered their fledgling playoff hopes with their most emphatic win since beating the New York Jets 31-0 in 2014. San Diego turned its six takeaways into 31 points, but it could have been worse for the Bills. Nick Novak missed a 46-yard field goal following Hayward’s first interception. ”It felt good,” said Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers, who was 20-of-32 passing for 251 yards and two touchdowns. ”The defense obviously helped out quite a bit. We had optimal field position, but we executed at a much better level offensively, much better rhythm and flow.” The 54 points was the most ever in a game that Rivers started Vosean Joseph Jersey Draft , and it was the first time the Chargers topped 50 since a 2008 win over the Denver Broncos. It was the kind of complete performance the jubilant Chargers believe can propel them back into the postseason chase. Those aspirations seemed outlandish after losing their first four games, including two against AFC West opponents, and seeing the Kansas City Chiefs jump out to a 5-0 start. The Chargers are now only two games back of the division leaders. It started with a defense that finally capitalized on opportunities handed to them and created plenty more. Toomer got his interception after Peterman’s pass hit fullback Patrick DiMarco in the hands and bounced up in the air. Hayward’s first pick was on a lob by Peterman under pressure, and he got the second by following Peterman’s gaze and undercutting a route. Bosa planted his helmet squarely in Peterman’s sternum during the throw that resulted in Boston’s third interception in two games. ”Sometimes they come in bunches, and they came today in bunches,” Chargers coach Anthony Lynn said. ”We were due for a game like this,” Toomer said. Still, Ingram sees it as just a glimpse of what the Chargers can do, especially on defense. ”We can’t just try to hang our hats on this,” Ingram said. ”There is still a long season ahead of us Infant Vosean Joseph Jersey , and we headed in the right direction, but we ain’t where we want to be yet.” — Bills defensive end Shaq Lawson grew up about 20 miles from Anderson, South Carolina and he reached out to the family of an 11-year-old girl who was shot and killed in that town this week.Ja’Naiya Scott was killed when someone shot at her home more than 35 times early on Sunday morning. He said he has a sister about the same age and felt he wanted to do anything that “could possibly help out” at such a trying time. My dad has been a season ticket holder since the days of the Yale Bowl. I was technically at a mid-December Giants-Cowboys game a few days before I was born. I was raised on the New York Giants and whether in East Rutherford, at home, or anywhere else, missing a game was rarely an option.I emailed Ed just before the 2016 season and asked if he was in need of another writer. That’s where all this started. I had previously written for other places across the Internet. I was part of the wild west days of Bleacher Report and was writing for numberFire at the time. But I was looking for another outlet and knew there would be nothing more natural than writing about the Giants. My first post came on Sept. 16 Infant Daniel Jones Jersey , 2016, and was a look at how the Giants’ secondary could potentially match up in the slot against the New Orleans Saints. A lot has happened in the just under three years since that post. I became a bigger part of the Big Blue View staff. I got to cover training camp practices. I got to talk to Saquon Barkley about how he does what he does (I think my favorite post over that time or at least the one that stands out the most). We started a podcast! All of this is a long intro to say this will be my final post at Big Blue View. You might have seen on Twitter or heard on the podcast, I’m joining Sharp Football Analysis where I’ll be an editor and writer for the 2019 season. None of this happened on my own, so a few quick notes:To Ed: Thank you for responding to that cold email I sent three years ago. Thank you for running a wonderful site I read before I started writing for it and will continue to read after. I have long held the belief this is the best place for any type of Giants coverage on the Internet and I am so grateful I got to be a part of it. Thank you for allowing me to run with a lot of ideas, even when they were vastly different from anything done on the site previously Daniel Jones Jersey Draft , and letting me get super deep and super nerdy (probably too deep and too nerdy) on so many of my posts. Thank you for helping me grow as a writer in that time.To Chris: Thank you for being an excellent podcast partner and running with a show that could go 17 different directions in an episode. Over the past year, there’s been no one I’ve talked football with more often and getting to do that has been a tremendous pleasure. I’m going to miss collaborating on those shows, article topics, and putting the big board together. Thank you for being someone to consistently bounce ideas off of and making those better. To all BBV readers: Thank you so much for being a gracious community. Thank you for embracing me and allowing me to consistently write about things that included DVOA, Expected Points Added Daniel Jones NFL Jersey , and so many other numbers that I’m sure not many of you cared about otherwise. Thank you for entertaining those ideas. Overall, thank you for reading and supporting — not just me, but everything from Big Blue View. We’re so lucky we get to do all of this and it’s because you care about it so much. That’s so cool. Keep caring about and supporting the things you like (and maybe specifically click some BBV links and download some podcasts). It’s certainly bittersweet writing this, but my overwhelming emotion is gratitude for everything this site — and everyone involved with it — has allowed me to do over the past three years. So for one final time, thank you and goodbye. The word from the Giants all offseason was that they firmly believed Eli Manning could still play quarterback at a level that allowed the team to win games Daniel Jones NFL Draft , but it didn’t take long for them to decide on another quarterback come the regular season.Daniel Jones is starting against the Buccaneers this week and will almost certainly continue in that role as long as he remains healthy this season. That move was inevitable once the Giants selected Jones with the sixth overall pick and head coach Pat Shurmur said at a Wednesday press conference that “my gut told me it was the right time” to make the change at quarterback.“We do everything we can to win football games and at this point we feel like he’s the guy we want to move forward with,” Shurmur said.Shurmur pushed back at suggestions that the team should have made the switch before the start of the season and said he still feels Manning can play in the NFL. Despite that, he said he does not expect Manning to move on to another team this year and said he thinks the veteran will be a good resource for Jones over the rest of the year.

Donte Moncrief‘s first game with the Pittsburgh Steelers

is one he would like to forget as soon as possible.Moncrief managed just three catches on 10 targets in Sunday night’s regular season opener against the New England Patriots. His three catches netted just seven yards and Moncrief had a handful of passes hit his hands that he was unable to secure Joejuan Williams NFL Jersey , including a fourth-and-one conversion and a potential touchdown.“It’s sickening when you watch it and you know the plays that you’re supposed to make and you didn’t make them,” Moncrief said, via Mike Prisuta of the team’s website. “And you see them and you’re like, ‘Gosh, I know I gotta make that.’ The other day, after we watched that film, there was a feeling in my stomach, it hurt. I went home Joejuan Williams NFL Draft , went straight to sleep, it hurt me. I had to put that away.“That was my first one like that, that was a bad one. It hurt, but at the end of the day it’s the NFL, all you can do is get better the next day. You gotta bounce back. You can’t let it hold you down.”The missed chances probably wouldn’t have shifted the outcome of the game against New England, but it still wasn’t the best first impression to leave either. Moncrief has been dealing with a dislocated middle finger since early in training camp but he wouldn’t use that as a crutch for the dropped passes against the Patriots. The ten targets Moncrief saw in New England were the most of any Steelers’ receiver. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said he’s not altering his approach with Moncrief due to one shaky outing.Moncrief is looking to bounce back this week against the Seattle Seahawks, who only allowed 20 points to the Cincinnati Bengals last week but saw Andy Dalton throw for over 400 yards on 51 attempts.“He believes in me,” Moncrief said of Roethlisberger. “He knows what I can do. I know what I can do. At the end of the day that was my worst game ever in my career Joejuan Williams Buffalo Bills Jersey , and it hurt.“But you can’t just sit there and just pout about it. You gotta get better, and that’s what I’m doing.” When Patriots quarterback Tom Brady wasn’t trading barbs with Titans head coach Mike Vrabel at Thursday’s joint practice, he was throwing to wide receivers who he is still getting to know. The Patriots have been shorthanded at wideout throughout training camp with Julian Edelman and Demaryius Thomas out of action, but Thursday saw the numbers grow even thinner as Phillip Dorsett, Maurice Harris and first-round pick N'Keal Harry all sat out with injuries. That left Brady to throw to the likes of Dontrelle Inman, Jakobi Meyers, Braxton Berrios, Gunner Olszewski and Damoun Patterson. Brady took note of how few spots are set in the receiving corps and what that means for the lesser-known members of the group.“Yeah Color Rush Joejuan Williams Jersey , I think those guys are working hard,” Brady said in a press conference. “I think training camp’s an interesting time with a lot of bodies and there’s a lot of guys in and out. Some years, you might have three guys set, or four guys set, and I think this year we haven’t really had that. It’s good work for the quarterback, just to make a read and then make a throw, and whether we come up with it or not, at least we’re going to the right place and making a good Youth Joejuan Williams Jersey , decisive play. So, there’s still a lot to be gained with guys moving in and out, and that’s just the way it’s been here.”Meyers has been opening eyes all summer and seems close to securing a spot on the 53-man roster if he hasn’t done so already. The others will continue to get their chances against the Titans in Saturday’s game and a big night for any of them will continue to keep things interesting in the receiver room.

New Jets coach Adam Gase clearly won the power struggle

with just-fired General Manager Mike Maccagnan. But it seems the seeds of the discord between them were sown during draft meetings Men Quinnen Williams Jersey , when Gase didn’t have much of a voice and Maccagnan didn’t offer him the chance to make it heard. As detailed by Manish Mehta of the , the rift between Gase and Maccagnan became apparent during preparation for the draft, when Maccagnan didn’t invite the new coach to offer much input into scouting. It’s reasonable for a coach to offer a template for what he’s looking for in prospects to do things particular to a scheme, but coaches are by job description parachuting into this process late Womens Lac Edwards Jersey , so it’s reasonable to scouts to be protective of the corners they’ve been working for months. Maccagnan took the same approach with Todd Bowles, but Gase apparently bristled at the treatment.“It pissed Adam off,” a team source said. “Mike didn’t want him to speak up too much. It’s a weird philosophy.”Gase would share his thoughts with Maccagnan in smaller meetings, but by and large http://www.jetslockerroom.com/authentic-sam-darnold-jersey , the draft meetings were conducted without much input from coaches. As a result, Gase largely washed his hands of the process. As they were setting up for the three days of picking players in April, Gase found that the seat reserved for him next to CEO Christopher Johnson was within range of the “war room” camera they had in place for the weekend.“He literally took his seat and moved it [out of camera view],” a current team employee that was in the room said. “That was extreme.”That’s one way of putting it. Passive-aggressive would be another mild version.Of course Tarell Basham Jersey , Gase now has a draft class of guys he can say he didn’t sign off on, which gives him some insulation if things go bad. But the fact such an organizational mismatch was allowed to continue through the draft is a failure that falls at the feet of Johnson — and the top-down dysfunction that has been the franchise’s trademark doesn’t seem to be letting up any time soon.
The Jets asked Vikings assistant General Manager George

Paton to interview for their G.M. vacancy in 2013 and again in 2015 Custom Armon Watts Jersey , but Paton turned down the opportunity each time.Paton’s answer reportedly hasn’t changed in 2019. The Jets are looking for a G.M. after firing Mike Maccagnan and Paton’s name again made their list of candidates. TheAthletic.com reports that Paton has passed on the chance for the third time, however.Seahawks co-director of player personnel Scott Fitterer is set to start the interview process for the Jets with Eagles vice president of player personnel Joe Douglas and Bears assistant director of player personnel Champ Kelly also scheduled to speak to the team. Saints director of pro scouting Terry Fontenot has also been mentioned as a candidate, but there’s been no word that an interview has been set.The Jets will be looking for a long run from whoever winds up in the job. If that’s not how things play out, it might save some time to just leave Paton off the list for the next search. LOS ANGELES (AP) — Kirk Cousins was an eager young quarterback and Sean McVay was a precocious offensive coordinator when they got together in Washington. After they collaborated on two tremendously productive seasons, the partnership led to big things for both men: McVay became the NFL’s youngest head coach in Los Angeles, and Cousins got an $84 million contract in Minnesota.“I’m very grateful for having crossed paths with him,” Cousins said. “And I’m always rooting for him. But certainly Discount Armon Watts Jersey , though, we want to get the ‘W’ this week.”Indeed, they’re getting back together Thursday night in a compelling early season NFC showdown between McVay’s Rams (3-0) and Cousins’ Vikings (1-1-1).And both say they wouldn’t be there under the Coliseum lights without the other.“I feel fortunate to have worked with Kirk,” McVay said.“Sometimes you hear people talk about not having the strongest arm or whatever, (but) I’m not sure what film they’re watching,” McVay added.“He can make every single throw. I think he has the ability to speed it up with excellent twitch. He can change the launch point. So you’re not limited in any way that you can utilize him. And I couldn’t be happier for Kirk, and I’ll be rooting for him the rest of the year after Thursday night.”Their meeting will be an interesting barometer for both teams’ early season fortunes. The Rams have been largely outstanding during their unbeaten start to a season that has picked up right where McVay’s first team left off.But coach Mike Zimmer’s Vikings defense gave perhaps the most impressive performance of last season against the high-octane Rams Dalvin Cook Jersey , who managed only one early touchdown from Todd Gurley in a 24-7 loss at Minnesota.“We didn’t run the ball as well as we had in other games against this defense,” said Aaron Kromer, the Rams’ running game coordinator. “They’re a stout defense. They’re built to stop the run. That’s their No. 1 goal. … We have to do a much better job. I think we’re a lot smarter football team than we were in the past, so I hope that shows on Thursday night.”More things to watch:WEEKNIGHT PARTYThe Rams realize Thursday afternoon isn’t an ideal time to brave LA traffic for a football game at a stadium undergoing renovation that has severely curtailed its parking and tailgating. So they’re trying to make this important NFC game into a civic duty: McVay sent out a funny “memo” through newspapers and social media to all employers in Los Angeles, urging them to allow their employees to leave work early so they can head downtown for the 5:20 p.m. local start time — which he says is the “typical bedtime” of his 71-year-old defensive coordinator, Wade Phillips. They also got Vanessa Hudgens to sing the national anthem, while Compton rapper YG will perform in the second quarter.EARLY DEPARTUREThe Vikings flew to Los Angeles on Tuesday evening Alan Page Jersey , hoping to better acclimate to the two-time-zone change. The Vikings are 1-5 in Thursday night road games, winning only at Dallas in 1978. Traveling cross-country to play one of the NFL’s best teams with three days of rest is a daunting task.“Yeah, it’s a problem,” coach Mike Zimmer said. “We haven’t had a home game on a short week since I’ve been here in five years. But you play the schedule how it is.”NOT A FANThe Rams are also unenthused about their short-week schedule, although they’re grateful they got to stay home for it. McVay joked that he’s running on “maybe two” hours of sleep per night. Last weekend, Gurley summed up many players’ feelings about Thursday football: “It’s the dumbest thing ever.”GOING WITHOUT GRIFFENThe Vikings will play without defensive end Everson Griffen, a captain and three-time Pro Bowl pick. The former USC star won’t make his Coliseum return while he is sidelined indefinitely for treatment of mental illness following a pattern of erratic and threatening behavior. With players http://www.thevikingslockerroom.com/authentic-brett-favre-jersey , coaches and staff concerned about Griffen’s well-being, the show must go on. Stephen Weatherly had his first career sack against the Bills while starting in place of Griffen.INJURED CORNERSThe Rams have bigger problems than a late start time: Their star-studded defense is suddenly short-handed after former Pro Bowl cornerbacks Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters both incurred injuries in last week’s win over the Chargers.Talib needs ankle surgery and will be out for at least eight weeks. Peters’ calf injury isn’t so serious, but still might keep him out. The Rams are likely to go against Cousins with backup cornerbacks including Sam Shields, Troy Hill and Nickell Robey-Coleman.“I feel like we’re going to be great,” Robey-Coleman said. “I can’t take away from the hard work that every guy on this depth chart put in to get an opportunity to get on the field.”SLOW STARTAfter ranking seventh in the NFL last season in yards rushing, the Vikings are next-to-last with just 66 yards per game, although they’ve been throwing excessively with two late deficits in their first three games. There still hasn’t been much room for Dalvin Cook or Latavius Murray to run Womens Stefon Diggs Jersey , and going against the Rams’ stout defensive line won’t help. Pat Elflein will return to the starting lineup at center, his rehab from offseason surgeries finally complete.“We’re not in panic mode. We’re not in that,” said Cook, who is expected to play after sitting out last week’s loss to Buffalo. “We’re going to get this thing going. It’s just a matter of time.”

Last year, they traded up to snag linebacker Oren Burks. In 2019, it was Texas A&M tight end Jace Sternberger who was the pick, chosen with the 75th overall selection. The Packers wasted no time at all in rushing their card up when going on the clock at 75, however, a sign that Sternberger was the player they were targeting on their board as the picks counted down. Indeed, the team’s brass expressed great excitement about being able to land the athletic tight end prospect with that pick, saying that he was at the top of their draft board. “He was the best player available for us at this time,” said co-director of player personnel Jon-Eric Sullivan. “It worked out Color Rush Darnell Savage Jersey , because it was a position that we value, and we needed to get a young guy in the mix.”General manager Brian Gutekunst addressed the concept of need at the position, saying that the team did not feel compelled to draft a tight end if the board did not allow for it. “It wasn’t something that I felt like we had to add in this draft,” he said. “He was the best player on our board, so that’s the way we went.”The current depth chart at the position includes veteran players like Jimmy Graham and Marcedes Lewis, who will likely do the heavy lifting for the 2019 season, as well as young rising cult hero Robert Tonyan. With that group in place, Sternberger will be expected to contribute early on without being on the top line of the depth chart. As Sullivan described it, “I don’t think there’s pressure for him to come in here and be Superman.”Sternberger Cheap Darnell Savage Jersey , for his part, sounds thrilled to play behind established veterans. On a conference call with Packers reporters, he expressed plenty of excitement about his new teammates. “What better opportunity can you have?” he asked. “Anything, any advice that they give me, anything they tell me, even if they’re being hard on me, I’m going to take it in.”Described as a “late bloomer,” Sternberger started off his career at Kansas before moving to junior college. “I was on my third offensive coordinator at Kansas,” he said Darnell Savage Jersey Womens , describing the circumstances of his circuitous route to College Station. “(It just wasn’t the best fit overall. I felt like me going the juco route was my best opportunity to get recruited by everybody.” Recruited he was — landing at A&M early on in the process. “Coach (Jimbo) Fisher gave me the opportunity to be the number one tight end at A&M, and I took that opportunity head-on and it worked out for the better.”Now, after one year as a college starter, he’s a third-round pick and a Packer. It may even take some time for that to sink in for him. “If you were to tell me that Aaron Rodgers was going to be my quarterback in about four years,” he said, ““I would have laughed at you and called you a liar.”Nobody’s lying to you now, Jace. Welcome to Green Bay. Browns center J.C. Tretter knows all about Mike McCarthy. And even if every quarterback doesn’t love him, Tretter thinks the just-fired Packers coach would be great for Browns rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield.Tretter told Mary Kay Cabot of the that he thinks McCarthy would be a good teacher for the precocious Cleveland quarterback.鈥淚 think they鈥檇 do great,” Tretter said. 鈥淗e started working with Aaron [Rodgers] when Aaron was a rookie too and Aaron鈥檚 developed into a hell of a player so I think that relationship would be fine. I see a lot of similarities between Aaron and Baker personalty-wise Darnell Savage Green Bay Packers Jersey , competitiveness, and that鈥檚 all the things that Aaron came in with too when he was a young player, so I think they鈥檇 work well together.”Tretter spent four years in Green Bay with McCarthy (2013-16), when things weren’t always so warm between Rodgers and McCarthy. He’s also just one of the Green Bay refugees in Cleveland, and General Manager John Dorsey and much of his front office have deep and obvious ties to McCarthy. So even though McCarthy’s strained relationship with Rodgers (at a play-calling level, not a personal level) has been the focus of his departure from Green Bay, Tretter didn’t view him as a coach who was inflexible. In fact, he thought McCarthy could incorporate many of the college concepts to their offense which could maximize Mayfield’s skills.鈥淚t鈥檚 tough how things go down but that鈥檚 kind of the business we鈥檙e in,” Tretter said of the end of McCarthy’s run in Green Bay. “It was tough last year for him with A-Rod getting hurt and then things just didn鈥檛 click this year like in previous years Darnell Savage Jersey 2019 , but I鈥檝e always enjoyed working with Mike McCarthy. I think what he鈥檚 done in his career in Green Bay has been extraordinary. I think there鈥檚 not many franchises that would trade what he鈥檚 done or pass that up.鈥淗e鈥檚 a great man, too. I don鈥檛 have a bad thing to say about Mike McCarthy. He was really an awesome leader and an awesome coach. Coming in as a rookie into that program and be coached by him was really awesome for my career to set me up on how this business works and how the game of football is played.鈥滿cCarthy’s 125-77-2 record and Super Bowl ring would bring some immediate gravity to the Browns, though they figure to cast a wide net since they too have a head start on the coaching search.

In that time, he has managed to show a preference for one particular conference while simultaneously scouring smaller schools for diamonds in the rough. In 2019, Buffalo made eight draft picks, just as they did during the 2018 Draft. This year Womens Vontae Davis Jersey , the Bills drafted five players from “Power-Five” conferences, the same number as last year. They also spent their first choice on a player who does not play in a “Power-Five” conference for the second consecutive year. Last year, the choice was quarterback Josh Allen, who played in the Mountain West Conference at Wyoming. This year, the choice was defensive tackle Ed Oliver http://www.thebillslockerroom.com/authentic-aj-mccarron-jersey , who played in the American Athletic Conference at Houston. Two of Buffalo’s “Power-Five” picks in 2019 were SEC players—tight end Dawson Knox, chosen in the third round (96 overall), and linebacker Vosean Joseph, selected in the fifth round (147 overall). Another “Power-Five” choice, offensive lineman Cody Ford (second round; 38 overall) Vladimir Ducasse Jersey , played at Oklahoma, which is a Big 12 school.Buffalo continued its trend of selecting multiple ACC players in this year’s draft, choosing Miami (Fl.) safety Jaquan Johnson in the fifth round and Boston College tight end Tommy Sweeney in the seventh round. That gives Beane a total of six players chosen from ACC schools in two drafts. Last year, the team chose linebacker Tremain Edmunds (16 overall) and guard Wyatt Teller (166 overall), both from Virginia Tech. Additionally Womens Jason Croom Jersey , they selected two ACC wide receivers late in the draft, taking Clemson wideout Ray-Ray McCloud III in Round Six (187 overall) and North Carolina wideout Austin Proehl in Round Seven (255 overall).Buffalo spent a third-round choice this year on a running back from a small conference, making Florida Atlantic’s Devin Singletary their choice at 74 overall. They also chose FCS edge rusher Darryl Johnson our of North Carolina A&T in the seventh round (225 overall).
