Teddy Bridgewater initially decided to re-sign with the Saints.

Then he reconsidered. Now he has re-reconsidered.Per multiple reports Adam Thielen Jersey , the Saints have signed Bridgewater, who will return for a second season with the team. The decision comes a day after Bridgewater officially visited the Dolphins.According to ESPN, Bridgewater will sign next week a one-year, fully-guaranteed contract worth $7.25 million.Miami was in position to offer him the starting job with an asterisk; if they draft a quarterback, Bridgewater may not have been the starter for long. In New Orleans, Bridgewater could in theory succeed Drew Brees as the starter, if Brees leaves after 2019 and if coach Sean Payton stays. Also, Bridgewater presumably will take over during the 2019 season, if Brees were to be injured.A first-round pick in 2014 of the Vikings, Bridgewater suffered a serious knee injury days before the start of the 2016 season. He became healthy again in 2017, remained on the bench most of the year, and then signed with the Jets as a free agent. The Jets traded him to the Saints for a third-round pick after the Jets drafted Sam Darnold.Bridgewater likely left money on the table by not joining the Dolphins, but a decision that may have been better for him in the short term may not have been better in the long term, especially if the Dolphins struggle this year — and/or if they use their first-round pick on a quarterback. It’s playoff time in most fantasy leagues Kirk Cousins Jersey , so if you’re still contending for a title it probably means you had a crafty draft, timely waiver wire moves and a fortunate bounce or two along the way. Now, the job is shifting.Week 14 is also the last week of the regular season in a host of leagues. Weather could be a factor this week in some games, but the objective is the same as it was in September: win.START: Amari Cooper, WR, Cowboys: Performing at a WR1 level, Cooper has caught 16 of 17 targets in the past two weeks and will have a great opportunity to continue his pace against an Eagles pass defense that is 30th in fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers. Cooper was targeted 10 times in the Week 10 victory at Philadelphia and will see a similar volume of targets from quarterback Dak Prescott. The Eagles have allowed 47 completions of better than 20 yards, which plays well for Cooper’s chances.SIT: Tom Brady, QB, Patriots: The touchdowns haven’t been there for Brady, who has just four scoring tosses in his last five games, including a pair of zeroes in Weeks 8 and 10. With the emergence of rookie running back Sony Michel, the need for Brady to air it out has lessened. He’s also been less than stellar throughout his career at Miami, who is second in the league with 19 interceptions. Unless he’s the only available option Marcus Sherels Jersey , look elsewhere.START: Gus Edwards, RB, Ravens: Since being plugged into the lineup, Edwards has averaged 105 yards per game. Now he gets a Chiefs defense that is 31st in fantasy points per game allowed to opposing running backs. Edwards has just one touchdown this season, a total that should go up considering that Kansas City has given up 14 rushing scores and a hefty 5.1 yards per carry. He’s a borderline RB1 with potential to put up monster numbers.SIT: Marlon Mack, RB, Colts: Out of the frying pan that was the Jaguars‘ defense and into the fire of a blistering hot Texans D goes Mack, who had just eight carries for 27 yards last week against Jacksonville. His production could be further carved if Indianapolis must go pass-heavy, as rookie Nyheim Hines will see more touches. Houston is fifth in the league against the run, and only the Bears (four) and Patriots (five) have allowed fewer rushing touchdowns than the Texans with six. Mack is too risky, especially in PPR formats.START: David Njoku, TE, Browns: Inconsistent of late, Njoku has just 12 targets in his last three games but will have the opportunity to reward faithful fantasy owners against a Panthers defense that is the worst at stopping opposing tight ends. Carolina has allowed at least two touchdown passes nine times this season and with Cleveland looking to avoid the Panthers’ fifth-ranked run defense Xavier Rhodes Jersey , it’s easy to see quarterback Baker Mayfield making Njoku a focal point of the offense, especially in the red zone.SIT: Jared Goff, QB, Rams: Yes, Goff has led many a fantasy team to postseason glory, but starting him against the Bears could lead to a one-and-done scenario. Game time temps will be in the upper 20s and the only thing colder than the weather are opposing passers against the Chicago defense, which leads the league with 21 interceptions while allowing just five touchdown passes in the last five games. The risk-reward that comes with starting Goff on Sunday night leans heavily to the risk category.START: Adam Humphries, WR, Buccaneers: He has thrived in the wake of DeSean Jackson’s absence, catching touchdowns in each of his last three games. Humphries will have every opportunity to extend his scoring streak against a Saints defense that is the worst in fantasy points per game allowed to opposing receivers, as his sure hands have caught 16 of 20 targets in the past three weeks. With this game a potential offensive free-for-all, add Humphries as a WR3/flex.SIT: Alshon Jeffrey, WR, Eagles: Fantasy owners would love to know the whereabouts of Jeffrey Mike Remmers Jersey , who hasn’t scored since Week 7 and has failed to exceed 50 receiving yards in his last five games. There’s little reason to envision Jeffery reviving his fortunes against a Cowboys pass defense that is sixth in fewest receiving yards allowed and is tied for third with just 16 touchdown passes allowed.START: Aaron Jones, RB, Packers: After rushing for only 36 yards last week against the Cardinals, Jones is a strong rebound candidate when he squares up against the Falcons, who are 27th against the run and giving up 4.9 yards per carry. He did score last week, marking four straight games with a touchdown. Jones could finally see a more extensive workload under interim coach Joe Philbin.SIT: Russell Wilson, QB, Seahawks: It’s tough to bench a quarterback who has thrown multiple touchdowns in eight straight games, but Wilson is facing a Vikings pass defense that has been in lockdown mode in the past month. Minnesota is ninth in fewest passing yards allowed and has contained the likes of Drew Brees, Matthew Stafford, Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady over the last five games, surrendering a combined four touchdown passes in the same span. Wilson hasn’t run much this season, but a Vikings pass rush that has recorded 36 sacks will force him to be more run-centric.

However, Matt LaFleur is bringing a host of changes to the team as its new head coach, and that appears to be one of them.LaFleur made a handful of headlines on Tuesday at the NFL’s annual meeting, but some of the most notable involve the team’s plans for practices, both in training camp and in the regular season.Mike McCarthy changed up the team’s weekly schedule about five years ago, giving players off two days before games (usually on Fridays) with a quick but intense practice on the day before the game. However, most teams work on Friday and spend Saturdays preparing mentally, and LaFleur is apparently taking the team back to that plan for this season.LaFleur also has a plan in the works to practice against another NFL team in training camp this year Elgton Jenkins Jersey 2019 , which could make for some interesting days. Hopefully negotiations with the other franchise will work out so that some or all of those practices are open to the public. We will not know for sure how open training camp will be this year, but you can bet that with the team’s connection to the fans and the community, an expectation is set for LaFleur that he’ll need to keep fan availability open for most practices this summer.Meanwhile, the Packers are also planning to head to Canada for a preseason game against the Raiders, something Mark Murphy discussed on Tuesday. This sure isn’t Mike McCarthy’s team any more.Packers plan to practice against another team in training camp | Packers.comGreen Bay hasn't done this since before Mike McCarthy's tenure. The last time was in Mike Sherman's final season in 2005, when the team hosted the Buffalo Bills before Family Night.Packers' practice week will become more traditional under Matt LaFleur | Packersnews.comMeanwhile, the Packers will go back to practicing on Fridays instead of Saturdays in normal game weeks this season. McCarthy shifted the last practice of the week back a day for the past few years, but LaFleur is going back to the typical schedule for several reasons.Matt LaFleur finds ‘all-time’ throw in 2010 tape of Aaron Rodgers | Packers WireIt isn't a play that is likely to stick in the minds of Packers fans, since it came in a relatively ugly 9-0 victory against the Jets. However Color Rush Elgton Jenkins Jersey , Rodgers' willingness to hang in the pocket, take a hit, and deliver a clean, on-target football on this play really stuck with his new coach.2019 NFL coaches picture power ranking: How handsome is Doug Marrone? - Big Cat CountryBCC did a ranking of NFL coaches by handsomeness, and our own Matt LaFleur takes the top spot.Zimmer on CB Rhodes: 'He needs to play better' | ESPNPackers fans won't feel too bad hearing about Xavier Rhodes' struggles.NFL Draft 2019: 6 pass rushers tell us their top moves for wrecking QBs - SBNation.comI think Ed Oliver is now my favorite potential pick for the Packers at 12 overall, with Brian Burns in the mix as well. But really Cheap Elgton Jenkins Jersey , is taking off shoes too much to ask before doing that?Packers’ Quinten Rollins has hamstring injury, which will affect roster cuts In a day already filled with difficult decisions for front office personnel, the Green Bay Packers’ brass will face a murky situation in light of Quinten Rollins’ reported hamstring injury. The team’s former second-round pick had put himself in position for one of the final spots on the 53-man roster due in part to his potential versatility. Green Bay’s safety depth is cloudy and Rollins, who has almost exclusively played cornerback throughout his short Packers’ career, had shown potential versatility to find a role in that area this season. Despite a rocky, to say the least, experience as a punt returner in preseason action, Rollins was beginning to carve out a niche to make the final roster in the secondary as a filler of several positions when needed. However, a reported hamstring injury that Rollins suffered in Thursday night’s game creates a cloudier situation for Rollins and the Packers Elgton Jenkins Jersey Womens , as reports suggest that the former may be unable to play in week one at least. Green Bay could place the fourth-year pro on Injured Reserve with the opportunity to designate him as one of two players able to return six weeks from the date of injury. However, he must count as one of the players on the initial 53-man roster in order for the Packers to make that choice. Whether Rollins has proven enough as a swing-man defensive back to warrant being in that discussion is debatable.Of course, this could also work against Rollins and end his tenure in Green Bay, one that was marred by injuries and inconsistent play. The Packers could reach an injury settlement with Rollins and open a spot for players like Raven Greene and Marwin Evans at safety or even Herb Waters and Demetri Goodson at cornerback. Josh Hawkins has already reportedly released from the team.As Rollins awaits his fate in Green Bay, the day of final cuts marches on. Stay tuned to APC for more news on the final roster trimming.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP)Quarterback A.J. McCarron is eager for the opportunity to prove himself with the Buffalo Bills after spending the previous four seasons working in Andy Dalton’s shadow. And it makes no difference to McCarron if the Bills add more competition should they select one of the highly regarded quarterback prospects in the first round of the draft next month.”I try not to ever waste any mental thought on it because it’s something I can’t control,” McCarron said Thursday, after arriving at the Bills facility to officially sign his two-year contract.”There’s no reason for me to really put any thought into it just to be honest with you, because it creates mental clutter for my process that I need to be the best player I need to be.”The 27-year-old said he’s not affected by the perception of Buffalo signing him to hold down the starting job on a short-term basis and allow time for a younger quarterback to develop.”You can either let it affect you in how you go about your work and let that define you. Or you can change everybody’s thought process,” McCarron said. ”My mindset is to change anybody that’s had any doubt.”For now, McCarron and 2017 fifth-round draft pick, Nathan Peterman, are the only quarterbacks on Buffalo’s roster after the team traded third-year starter Tyrod Taylor to Cleveland last week.Buffalo is considered among the teams targeting a quarterback in the draft. The Bills have two picks in each of the first three rounds – including the 12th and 22nd overall.McCarron was a two-time national champion at Alabama but appeared in just 11 games in Cincinnati, mostly in mop-up duties. McCarron did start the final three games of the 2015 season and led the Bengals to the playoffs after Dalton broke his thumb. He was on the verge of leading the Bengals to their first playoff win since the 1990 season before Jeremy Hill’s fumble and two penalties allowed Pittsburgh to secure an 18-16 win in the AFC wild-card game.McCarron is now part of the Bills’ ongoing roster overhaul in being one of five newcomers to join the team once the NFL’s free-agency period opened Wednesday. The others are defensive tackle Star Lotulelei http://www.thebillslockerroom.com/authentic-star-lotulelei-jersey , former Washington pass-rushing specialist Trent Murphy, safety Rafael Bush and linebacker Julian Stanford. Also on Thursday, the Bills freed up salary cap space by restructuring the contract of veteran offensive guard Richie Incognito.Lotulelei and Murphy are key additions for the Bills in overhauling a defensive front seven to shore up a unit that ranked 29th against the run and finished tied with the third-fewest sacks at 27.Lotulelei signed a five-year contract after spending his first five seasons with the Carolina Panthers. The 28-year-old is reunited with Bills coach Sean McDermott, who was the Panthers defensive coordinator before being hired by Buffalo in January 2017.Lotulelei expects his familiarity with McDermott’s defensive philosophy to ease his transition. He’s also looking forward to the chance to line up alongside respected veteran Kyle Williams, who signed a one-year contract this week to return for a 13th season.”Kyle Williams, I’ve been a big fan of his,” Lotulelei said. ”Coming here and having the opportunity to learn from him as well as play alongside him will be great.”Murphy was so eager to get to Buffalo, he drove overnight through a snowstorm. He arrived at about 1:30 a.m. in making the 320-mile trip from Columbus, Ohio, where he spent the past 10 weeks working out to strengthen his injured left knee. The fourth-year player missed all of last season after tearing two ligaments during Washington’s first preseason game. The injury came after the former second-round draft pick had a career-best nine sacks in 2016. Murphy Rafael Bush Jersey , who signed a three-year contract, is motivated to prove he can return to playing at the same level.”I couldn’t be more exited to prove everyone here right that I’m who they think I am,” he said. ”It’s just more motivation to grind out the rest of this offseason and get here and get working.”Murphy said he is on track to be fully healthy for the start of the season.McCarron is getting a fresh start after being nearly traded to Cleveland last season. The deal fell through after the Browns failed to submit the paperwork on time. And he only became eligible to enter free agency after an independent arbitrator last month ruled McCarron’s rookie season counted toward his NFL tenure even though he spent a majority of the year on the non-football injury list because of a sore passing shoulder.”It’s been a little bit of a roller coaster,” he said.”We get impatient and you want things fast and easy, but it’s not always that way,” McCarron said. ”So I think it just adds another chapter to the story in the end. It’s just part of the process. It’s awesome to be here in this situation now.”—

EAST RUTHERFORD Deandre Baker NFL Draft , N.J. (AP) — The anemic and injury-plagued New York Giants‘ offense expects to get a little help when it plays the Arizona Cardinals this weekend in a game matching the first two quarterbacks taken in this year’s NFL draft.Giants tight end Evan Engram was optimistic Monday about playing Sunday at MetLife Stadium, and there is a chance 2018 NFL Offensive Rookie of Year Saquon Barkley also will be back.Engram, who is having a breakout season, missed Thursday night’s 35-14 loss to the New England Patriots with a knee injury. Barkley has missed the last three games with a high ankle sprain suffered against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sept. 15.The status of top receiver Sterling Shepard is uncertain. He missed the Patriots’ game with his second concussion this season. He took part in individual drills Monday, but coach Pat Shurmur refused to talk about his status.“It’s unfortunate,” Engram said of the team not having three major cogs in the offense. “We’ve talked about it. We can’t dwell on it. We have to keep moving.”One sign that Shepard may be out a little longer was New York signing veteran receiver Bennie Fowler, who was cut before the game against the Minnesota Vikings. Shepard was hurt in that contest. The Giants (2-4) have done very little offensively in the last two games, being limited to 211 total yards in a 28-10 loss to the Vikings and 213 against the Patriots.Engram, who had a team-high 33 catches for 373 yards and two TDs, and Barkley watched Thursday night’s game at Shepard’s home.“It’s tough, definitely opportunities in that game Deandre Baker Buffalo Bills Jersey ,” Engram said. “It (hurt) not being out there, but like I said, there are things out of our control. When they do happen we can’t really dwell and pout and not gain anything from it. We just have to do what we can and be ready.”In the last two games, Daniel Jones and the offense accounted for one touchdown in each game. A big kickoff return by rookie Corey Ballentine set up the TD against the Vikings and the one against the Patriots was on a 64-yard pass to Golden Tate III.The good news for the Giants is that while they have lost their last two games, Dallas and Philadelphia (both 3-3) lost over the weekend. New York is a game out of first place in the NFC East heading into the matchup with Kyler Murray and the Cardinals (2-3-1).Murray was the No. 1 overall pick in the draft. Jones was taken No. 6.“I have seen some crazy things happen in this league,” veteran safety Antoine Bethea said. “Two-and-four is not where we wanted to be. We just have to focus on Arizona. That’s our biggest test right now. We get this one, get to 3-4, and then it’s one game at a time.”NOTES: The Giants are not accepting mistakes. Rookie RB Jon Hilliman, whose fumble led to Kyle Van Noy’s game-breaking 22-yard fumble return in the fourth quarter against New England, was waived Friday, when RB Buck Allen was signed. Linebacker Nate Stupar Infant Daniel Jones Jersey , whose man pushed him back so close to Riley Dixon that the punter’s kick deflected off him and was returned for a touchdown Thursday, was waived Monday. Fowler was signed to replace him. … Second-year CB Sam Beal, who has been on injured reserve since the start of the season, may start practicing Wednesday. Daniel Jones is taking some snaps with the second team as he continues to learn the playbook and get acclimated with his new team and his new teammates.“We have a plan for that. It is scheduled out through the spring,” Giants coach Pat Shurmur told reporters Tuesday. “Once we get to training camp, we will do the same thing there.”The Giants drafted Jones sixth overall, designating him the heir apparent to Eli Manning. In Jones’ three years starting at Duke, he passed for 8,201 yards and 52 touchdowns as he learned from head coach David Cutcliffe, who also coached Peyton and Eli Mannning.“He obviously has a great foundation for playing the position,” Shurmur said of Jones. “We gave him a small group of plays the first day of rookie minicamp. Then Daniel Jones Jersey Draft , we gave him another group and another group. We kept piling on. I think he is doing a good job sorting through it and learning the details of the position. You never totally know where a player is when you get him. He was ready to compete when he got here. It was just a matter of him learning how we do it here.”Shurmur sees similarities between Eli Manning, who is entering his 16th season, and Jones.“There is a lot of similarity in their stature and how they handle themselves,” Shurmur said. “Personality-wise, I would say in some ways they are similar as we get to know Daniel and his personality more. They are very calm in their approach. They are very fiery under the covers. I don’t think you want to misrepresent either one of them. They are both very fiery of making sure things are done properly. They demand it of themselves and the people around them.” Manning made his first start as a rookie in the Giants’ 10th game of 2004. When will Jones make his first start for the Giants? At some point, perhaps this season, that question will answer itself.

and the 49ers could pay dividends for the Patriots on Sunday The NFL season is only entering its second week of action Jonathan Jones Jerseys 2019 , but it will already see one of the most anticipated matchups of the year on Sunday: the New England Patriots will travel to Florida to play the Jacksonville Jaguars in a rematch of last year’s AFC Championship Game. Just like the 2017 title game, the meeting again projects to be a closely contested one that could come down to the wire.In order to gain a better understanding of the Patriots’ upcoming opponent and what to expect on Sunday, we spoke to Ryan O’Bleness – a staff writer for our sister page Big Cat Country. Here’s what he had to say about Jacksonville.1. Who is the one player Patriots fans probably don’t know much about right now but that could play a big role on Sunday?Well, a player who I believe may be in for an extended role on Sunday is somebody that some Patriots fans may actually remember from the AFC Championship: running back Corey Grant. This is especially true if Leonard Fournette is unable to go on Sunday. Grant was not used often in Week 1 following Fournette’s hamstring injury, however, recent comments from head coach Doug Marrone seem to point toward Grant getting more reps this week. Grant was a factor in the first half of the AFC Championship game, and if offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett can find creative ways to get the ball in his hands, it should help the Jaguars offensively. 2. What do you think are some of the lessons the Jaguars drew from the AFC Championship Game? And how will they try to apply them? One thing that I hope the Jaguars learned from that game is that conservative play-calling with a lead isn’t enough against a team of New England’s caliber. If Jacksonville finds itself in that scenario on Sunday, I really hope the coaching staff is able to come up with more creative sequences and that the players — namely Blake Bortles — are able to execute in those situations. Another lesson, or mindset really, that the Jaguars took from that game is not to dwell on the past. Marrone preached all offseason and training camp long that the team should not be looking at the past, but rather at the present. With such a talented team, the Jaguars have huge goals in 2018. The team has seemed to buy into this mindset, and the collective focus has looked strong by all accounts. We will really see what the Jaguars are made out of when the Patriots come into Duval.3. The Jaguars’ defense is among the best in the NFL. Does it have any weaknesses the Patriots could try to exploit? No, not one. Just kidding, but this defense is absolutely incredible, and looks poised to be just as good or even better as the 2017 squad. If I were the Patriots, I would look at what the San Francisco 49ers were able to do against the Jags last year. Kyle Shanahan drew up a nice scheme that allowed Jimmy Garoppolo to find wide open players, such as full backs and tight ends, in the flat and pick up big yardage after the catch. Challenging players like Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye one-on-one is not ideal for any team White Ja’Whaun Bentley Jersey , so dinking and dunking downfield may be in New England’s best interest — though Myles Jack has now moved over to middle linebacker and is pretty strong in pass coverage (he can cover just about anybody). Telvin Smith is no slouch, either. A couple of worries on defense heading into the season were how nickel cornerback D.J. Hayden would do replacing Aaron Colvin, and how seventh-round rookie Leon Jacobs would perform at strong-side linebacker. Hayden played really well in Week 1 according to Pro Football Focus, and Jacobs was only the field for 11 snaps, so it’s hard to judge him at this point. 4. Which areas of Jacksonville’s offense do you think New England will try to attack defensively? The Jaguars want to run the ball down your throat. If Fournette plays, he’s going to be in for a heavy workload. So the Pats will need to create penetration in the trenches and shut down the ground attack. New England’s best bet is to take away the rushing game and make Blake Bortles beat them. Bortles played well in the AFC Championship game, and he is capable of doing so again. However, Bortles’ arch enemy has always been consistency. Jacksonville likes to run a lot of 11 personnel with three receiver route combinations, one tight end and one running back. So, if New England is able to get pressure on Bortles, force him into some poor decisions and disrupt the timing of the wide receivers’ routes, things will go very well for the Pats. 5. How confident are Jaguars fans and writers in the team’s coaching staff, especially when it comes to going against Bill Belichick and company?Personally, I am a big fan of Doug Marrone and his staff, and that feeling seems to be shared amongst the majority of Jags fans. This fanbase suffered through the Gus Bradley era where there never really seemed to be much accountability or an emphasis on winning. Marrone, and vice president of football operations Tom Coughlin brought discipline and a winning attitude back to Jacksonville, and the team bought in and responded strongly. In terms of going against Belichick, I think that most of the Jacksonville faithful agrees that Belichick is one of the best coaches of all-time, and, as a football coach Ja’Whaun Bentley Jersey 2019 , he is well-respected. I don’t believe anybody will claim that Marrone is in the same stratosphere as Belichick overall, but I do believe that Marrone is very familiar with Belichick’s tendencies and can surely formulate a game plan to beat him. Fan confidence is not an issue with this staff. Bonus for fun: do you think Myles Jack was down? Not a chance in the world. ;) (Hate to admit this, but I do understand how the referees could make that call in live action, though). Thanks to Ryan for taking the time to answer our questions. Make sure to follow him on Twitter and visit Big Cat Country for all the latest Jaguars news and analysis. New England invested the 32nd overall selection in Harry."22 drafts in a row — the final 19 of which under Bill Belichick — the New England Patriots did not pick a wide receiver in the first round. Yesterday, this streak came to an end when the team made N’Keal Harry the 32nd overall selection of the draft’s 2019 version. Shortly after becoming the final player to hear his name called on day one, the Arizona State product made the media rounds to speak about his mindset.“I’m extremely excited. I’m just ecstatic to come in, work hard, constantly improve and just live up to the expectations.” said the 21-year-old in a conference call with New England reporters. Those expectations, of course, are high considering a) his status as a first-round draft selection, b) his outstanding three-year college career, and c) the Patriots’ current group of pass catchers following the retirement of All-World tight end Rob Gronkowski. However, the rookie sounds confident in his abilities to meet his expectations. “I just want to do my part to help win, whatever that is, whatever that looks like. I just want to come in and be one of those players that coach can rely on no matter what he tells me. That’s what I know is expected of me, and that’s what I’m ready for,” said Harry. “Whatever they need me to do or want me to do, I’ll get on it right away.”Given his skill set and projected role as a versatile X-receiver in New England’s system, the first thing he might be asked to do is expand his route tree compared to how it looked at ASU. Harry knows, however White Jason McCourty Jerseys , that such a decision is not his to be made. “That’s not really up to me too much — it’s all on what the coaches want from me,” he pointed out. “I’m going to come in with the mindset of being very coachable. I’ve always been a very coachable player, just picking up on things very quickly.”Pats Pulpit recaps Day 1 of the DraftSubscribe to the Pats Pulpit podcast for more draft reactions!Harry also will have to quickly pick things up with his quarterback — noted perfectionist Tom Brady — as well. Again, however, the rookie appears to be looking forward to the challenge. “Just getting to play with a quarterback like Tom Brady — it really is a blessing. I couldn’t have a better start to my career because I know he is going to make me better, I know he’s going to hold me to a high standard, and I’m ready for that.” he told NFL Network. What also might help him be ready is his style of play and approach to the game. “I would describe my game as very passionate. I play with a lot of passion,” the 6’2 wideout said during his conference call with the New England media. “Whenever that ball is in the air, I’ll sacrifice anything to go get it and I’ll do whatever it takes to help the team win.”This attitude, Harry knows, has to extend beyond his own demeanor and towards his role on the team. “Anything Coach wants me to do, whether it’s on special teams, offense, anything, I’ll do it just to do my part and to be one piece of the puzzle in helping us win,” he continued. Given New England’s affinity for players that are both versatile and passionate, it is ultimately unsurprising that Harry became the club’s first draft pick this year. Now all that is left for him to do is turn his words into action and become an impact player for the Patriots. The foundation in terms of attitude and skill set very much seems to be in place for that to happen.

Jets podcast: Things to watch vs. Giants Tonight the Jets

play their third preseason game of 2018. It is their annual preseason contest against the other New York team White Andre Roberts Jerseys , the Giants. On today’s podcast we take a look at some of the key things to watch. As has been the case during the rest of the preseason, all eyes are on Sam Darnold. The rookie might have a chance to clinch the starting quarterback job in Week 1 tonight if he does not have an ugly outing. Beyond that, we will get to see Darnold with a fuller collection of talent as the Jets are about to get back a number of starters. Terrelle Pryor is another player worth watching as he could make his preseason debut tonight. There might be no bigger wild card on the roster. On the other side of the ball Andre Roberts Jerseys 2019 , the defense will look to bounce back after an uneven performance. Darron Lee in particular could use a strong game.On special teams, the kicking competition is unsettled..We will discuss all of these things and more on the show today. The Jets have their first interview of this year’s head coaching search in the books. The team announced on Wednesday afternoon that they have completed an interview with Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy. It’s also the first completed interview for Bieniemy, who is also set to talk to the Buccaneers on Wednesday before moving on to interviews with the Dolphins and Bengals.Hiring a coach with an offensive background would be a departure for the Jets as they have favored the defensive side of the ball over the last two decades. Bill Parcells replaced Rich Kotite in 1997 and was followed by Al Groh White Neal Sterling Jerseys , Herman Edwards, Eric Mangini, Rex Ryan and Todd Bowles.Given the presence of quarterback Sam Darnold Neal Sterling Jerseys 2019 , it’s no surprise that the team is looking in that direction. Buccaneers offensive coordinator Todd Monken, former Packers head coach Mike McCarthy and USC offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury also fit that bill, although Cowboys defensive backs coach Kris Richard is also on the candidate list.

The Redskins lost to Tennessee on Saturday, and shortly after Minnesota walked into its locker room at Ford Field, the Eagles beat Houston on a game-ending field goal.Minnesota (8-6-1) can still earn a spot in the postseason by closing the regular season with a win against NFC North champion Chicago at home, or by having wild-card hopefuls lose in Week 17.“We don’t want to leave it up to anyone else,” Rudolph said. The Vikings overcame an awful start offensively, scoring two touchdowns on Cousins’ passes over the last 1:32 of the second quarter, and relied on their defense all afternoon against Detroit.Minnesota had almost as many punts (4) as yards (5) before Cousins led an eight-play, 69-yard drive that ended with an 8-yard touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs late in the first half. On the Vikings’ next possession after calling timeout with 2 seconds left in the second quarter against a three-man rush, Cousins capped a 70-yard drive with his Hail Mary to Rudolph, who didn’t have much traffic in front of him,.“I didn’t have to move one step off of my spot. I was able to jump,” said the 6-foot-6 Rudolph, who was a highly touted high school basketball player in Cincinnati. “I joked earlier I had a lot of rebounds in high school basketball and at that point, it turns into another rebound, so maybe see if I can get that added to my career total.”In the same end zone three years ago Everson Griffen Jersey , Aaron Rodgers connected with Richard Rodgers on a winning desperation pass to lift the Packers to a win over Detroit to help them make a push to get into the postseason.Cousins finished 21 of 28 for 253 yards with three touchdowns, matching his career high with 29 set in 2015 with the Redskins. Rudolph had a career-high 122 yards receiving, matched a career high with two touchdown receptions, and had a season-high nine receptions. The Lions (5-10) wasted opportunities to have a comfortable cushion in the first half because their offense stalled repeatedly. They had to settle for three field goals and a 9-0 lead, and then they had to deal with a 14-9 deficit after the Hail Mary.“When those things happen, certainly they have a little bit of a toll on you,” coach Matt Patricia acknowledged.Detroit has dropped four of five and seven of nine since reaching .500 in late October, falling apart in Patricia’s first season as a head coach after the franchise fired coach Jim Caldwell with a 36-28 record over four seasons. The playing-for-pride Lions got off to a strong start defensively against the playoff-hopeful Vikings, holding them without a first down until there were three-plus minutes left in the first half. With the ball, though, Detroit could not to take advantage of favorable field position against a stingy defense. The Lions were relegated to Matt Prater kicking one field goal in the first quarter and two in the second. The Vikings opened the second half with a field goal for a 17-9 lead that looked like it would be enough against a team that failed to score a touchdown against them in two games this season. Minnesota sent a lot of fans out of Ford Field early in the second half when Cousins threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to Rudolph to go ahead by 15 points.STAFFORD SITSMatthew Stafford was 18 of 32 for 116 yards and was replaced with 4:10 left by Matt Cassel, who was welcomed by cheers before the Lions were called for a false start prior to his first snap.“It’s frustrating that that’s the way the game went,” said Stafford, who is playing through a back injury. “Coach makes those decisions. Always want to be out there, understand where he’s coming from with it. He knows what I’m dealing with and going through. As far as fans’ reaction, it doesn’t make any difference.”INJURY REPORTVikings: CB Marcus Sherels left with a foot injury in the first quarter and didn’t return. CB Xavier Rhodes (groin) limped off the field in the fourth quarter. FB C.J. Ham (elbow) had an elbow injury.Lions: TE Luke Willson (concussion), DT A’Shawn Robinson (knee), DeShawn Shead (knee) were hurt during the game.UP NEXTVikings: Host the Bears on Sunday.“It’s going to be like a playoff game,” Rudolph said.Lions: Close the season at Green Bay on Sunday. Every Thursday during the regular season (when the Minnesota Vikings play a Sunday game) the three coordinators speak to the media. Here’s a few highlights from this week’s press conferences:Defensive coordinator George EdwardsQ: What about playing in U.S. Bank Stadium makes this defense better?A: There’s no doubt that our fans and the support and the noise, and all the things that they do to help us out on third down [help us]. But also our players, the concentration and focus that they put forth, understanding the situation, understanding the matches and the coverages Anthony Barr Jersey , understanding the protections that we’re going to get in in those situations. I think the culmination of all of it together has really helped out.Q: How much of a weapon is Mitch Trubisky’s mobility?A: It says a lot, he really got out on us a couple times on third down earlier in the game in Chicago. Also, first and second down. He can find a seam, he’s gotten a lot more comfortable with what they do schematically and with how they’re using their different personnel, so we’ve got to be very disciplined in our rush lanes and hopefully get out and execute the game plan.Q: What types of challenges does it present when a running back can go vertical like Tarik Cohen can?A: It’s a tough match, especially in certain coverages that you’re in. You look around the league, it seems like every week we’re facing a back with that type of skill set. You look at us last week with 25 [Lions running back Theo Riddick], it’s pretty much that everybody has a guy that can really go take the top off as a tough match for a linebacker. It’s one thing that we’ve been working on throughout the course of the week and that we’ve been working on throughout the course of the year, and we’ve just got to be smart and make sure that we can maintain our leverage and not give up the big play.Q: How have you seen teams increase their focus on Linval Joseph over his time here?A: Quite a bit. I think Linval is a tremendous player for us inside, and what he brings to the game, I think people are aware that when you single block him it’s going to be a tough day. They realize a lot of the times that they have to double him. For us, that allows our linebackers who play at the second level to be a little bit freer as they come across, but he’s going to give you a hard day’s work every day that he’s out there. He pays attention to the detail. He’s more than your typical nose with the push that he gets in the pocket and being able to understand block recognition, his effort to the football on screens. He brings a lot to us defensively.Interim offensive coordinator Kevin StefanskiQ: How do you balance going back and watching the tape from the game at Chicago but not being the same play caller?A: It’s useful. It’s the same defense versus the same offense. The players are the same and certainly having been part of the staff I was a part of the game plan that put it together. So I think it’s useful to go back and look at it. The nice part is we can see who we were, we can see what they were doing in that particular game. It’s part of any process looking back at the first time you played them.Q: How do you balance still wanting to run the ball more with their run defense?A: They have a very good run defense and a very good pass defense. So I think you have to go into it and put a plan together that you feel is going to have the most success, whether that is running the ball or throwing the ball, but certainly have our work cut out for us.Q: What do you see with Dalvin Cook and what makes him so elusive?A: He is a special talent. God gifted him with some unique physical tools. I think you’d start probably with his feet are pretty impressive. I remember seeing him in his first practice out there and just seeing how his feet moved. There’s only a few guys who look like that. He’s a physically gifted kid. I give him a ton of credit coming off the injury, just worked his tail off in the training room and just worked so hard with coach [Kennedy] Polamalu in the run game, in the pass game, in protection. The kid is working really hard. You are seeing the benefits of that on game day.Q: What is the biggest challenge Khalil Mack offers when you try to game plan around him?A: He is a great player. He is a great combination of size, athleticism, power, effort. Just turn the tape on. He is an impressive player. He certainly is someone that we have to account for in a bunch of different ways. That is why we are out here working and implementing that plan.Special teams coordinator Mike PrieferQ: Why have the onside kick numbers plummeted so much and would you like to see them go back up?A: I’d like to see them go up if we’re kicking them and I’d like to see them stay low if we’re on the hands team Mike Hughes Jersey , to be quite honest. It is an exciting play. I think it’s down from 20 percent to 8 percent or whatever it is. I think part of that is because there is no running start. We’ll continue to evolve and continue to work on the different types of kicks that are going to be successful, some teams already have, we’ve already tried. Whether it’s in practice getting them ready for games. I think you need to have the right type of kick because there is no running start, they already have eight in the box, they’re going to bring up ten in that set up zone, like most teams did anyway on hands team. I think without the running start it makes it much more difficult. Q: Do you ever think about different gimmicks to make that play more exciting?A: I think that’s part of being busy, part of my job is to be creative whether it’s a punt fake, field-goal fake, a creative way to take advantage of what a team is doing with their hands team, or whatever the case maybe. We try not to go into the game and have the same exact onside kick, the same exact same punt fake, the exact same field-goal fake, we try to tweak it and make it hopefully be successful against the opponent that we’re facing. I think that’s what most good teams do and that’s what we try to do every week. That’s part of it. I don’t know if gimmicky is the right word, but you’re trying to put your team in the best position possible to be successful.Q: What can the league do to change more end game scenarios if the onside kick is too dangerous? A: I don’t think the onside kick is too dangerous. I think with the emphasis on staying away from the helmet-to-helmet type of hits, with the no running starts, and those type of things. I think our job as coaches is to create situations where we can be successful with the rules that are in place because I think the new kickoff, kickoff return rules have been very beneficial for our game. I think the numbers, I haven’t seen them, but I’ve heard the concussion numbers are way down, so we’re going in the right direction which is a good thing for our players. It’s a good thing for our game. I think the onside kick success rate will go up a little bit as we get more creative with the types of kicks that we use. That’s just my opinion.

According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the team has released Kapri Bibbs.Bibbs arrived in Green Bay off waivers late in the 2018 season following a knee injury to starting running back Aaron Jones. Bibbs saw limited action during his lone year with the team, appearing in two games and recording one carry and three receptions for a combined 15 yards from scrimmage. Bibbs previously spent time with Washington and the Denver Broncos.Bibbs’ release comes shortly after the Packers concluded their three-day mandatory minicamp, a period which concluded with a paintball, team-building exercise earlier this week. The move leaves the Green Bay with four tailbacks -- Jones, Jamaal Williams, Tra Carson, and Dexter Williams -- as well as fullback Dan Vitale. With Bibbs out of the picture, the Packers’ roster now stands at 89 players. The last time the Saints and Vikings hooked up, folks in Minnesota were toasting Stefon Diggs with steins of Surly, and people in Louisiana were crying in their gumbo. They get together again in prime time, a nice treat to finish off a Sunday with several intriguing matchups.New Orleans sure hopes there’s no second Minneapolis Miracle.“This is not a revenge game,” Drew Brees insists, referring to the playoff loss in January. “It’s a different season. These are new teams Ka'dar Hollman Green Bay Packers Jersey , even though there’s a lot of similar personnel. It’s a new season, new team, new mindset. So listen, it’s a very good opponent that we are playing on ‘Sunday Night Football’ at their place. It is a tough environment (and) a tough place to play. We understand we’re going to need our best game, our best execution to win.”The Saints (5-1) have been doing a lot of winning since they were upset by Tampa Bay in their opener. Last week they won against a playoff-caliber team at Baltimore. Now they get the Vikings (4-2-1), who have been spotty but lead the NFC North and are 14-3 at home vs. New Orleans. The Vikings might feel equipped enough to get into a shootout with Brees, but when you listen to their coach, Mike Zimmer, who has a defensive background, he knows his side will be tested. It’s uncertain if the Vikings will have end Everson Griffen available as he returns from dealing with mental issues that sidelined him for almost six weeks.“I think as the game goes on, Brees gets a much better feel of what the defense is trying to do throughout the course of the ballgame with him,” Zimmer says.“A guy like him who has seen everything — he sees everything anyway — but he’s seen so many different looks that he can kind of decipher things quickly on the move. I think that’s part of it, and he’s got good players, too. Michael Thomas is good, (Alvin) Kamara is good Justin McCray Jersey , (Mike) Ingram is good. They have a lot of good players.”The weekend began Thursday night with Houston’s 42-23 home victory over the Miami Dolphins. Deshaun Watson matched his career high with five touchdown passes to lead the Texans to their fifth straight victory after opening 0-3. Miami has lost two straight to drop to 4-4.Off are Dallas (3-4), Tennessee (3-4), Atlanta (3-4) and the Los Angeles Chargers (5-2).Green Bay (3-2-1) at Los Angeles Rams (7-0)Talk about shootouts, this has the makings of one.Green Bay comes off a bye, which means Aaron Rodgers is healthier and could have more targets to connect with. Still, the Packers rank fourth in passing and A-Rod has 332.8 yards passing per game and 12 touchdowns, one pick. But the Packers opened as the biggest underdog of his career. That’s because the NFL’s only unbeaten team has been unstoppable with the ball and pretty stingy without it.Oh yeah, the Packers don’t cover particularly well in the secondary.Running back Todd Gurley leads the NFL with 88 points, 686 yards rushing, 144 carries and 956 yards from scrimmage. DE Aaron Donald co-leads with eight sacks, comes off four sacks, six tackles for loss against San Francisco.Denver (3-4) at Kansas City (6-1)The Chiefs have won six in a row in this series and, like the Rams, have a dynamic, versatile offense. But they also rank last in yardage allowed on defense Ka'dar Hollman Jersey 2019 , so Denver might not be totally overmatched.Chiefs coach Andy Reid won his 200th game last week vs. Cincinnati. Reid would tie Dan Reeves for eighth in NFL history with another victory. To get it, he will rely on second-year QB Patrick Mahomes, who leads the NFL in TD passes (22) and 25-yard-plus completions (26). He has a franchise-record six consecutive 300-yard passing games.Baltimore (4-3) at Carolina (4-2)Carolina exhibited its resilience and staying power by rallying from 17 points down in the fourth quarter at Philadelphia last week. It was the largest comeback in franchise history, and now the Panthers are home, where they’ve won eight straight. The challenge is huge against Baltimore, which fell at home by one point to New Orleans when Justin Tucker — only the league’s career kicking leader — missed an extra point for the first time. That final-seconds miscue shouldn’t camouflage that the Ravens lead the league in defense. Baltimore has allowed 101 points, lowest total through seven games since coach John Harbaugh took over in 2008. The Ravens have allowed the fewest yards (280.6 per game) and fewest points (14.4).Seattle (3-3) at Detroit (3-3)Two teams that started ugly and have begun to look a lot more attractive.Seattle has gone physical with the run game and on defense and, despite being in retooling mode, seems ready to challenge for a wild-card playoff berth. Pete Carroll’s bunch protects the ball, too, with only six giveaways. The Seahawks are playing for the first time since the death of owner Paul Allen.Detroit seems to have discovered a running game: Rookie Kerryon Johnson ran for a career-high 158 yards at Miami last week. But Seattle’s D is stingy on the ground.Philadelphia (3-4) vs. Jacksonville (3-4) at LondonTwo teams beginning to look ugly, particularly the Jaguars, who had locker-room discord after last week’s loss to Houston that included QB Blake Bortles getting benched. Coach Doug Marrone is sticking with Bortles for now and there was a players-only meeting Monday in hopes of clearing the air. This is the sixth straight year Jacksonville is playing a home game in London.Following their collapse against Carolina, the Eagles probably welcomed getting far out of town. It’s their first trip to London for a game. The Eagles lead the NFL in time of possession, averaging more than 33 minutes. But with Jacksonville’s secondary undermanned Preston Smith Jersey , Carson Wentz could look to the air. He has thrown 173 consecutive passes without an interception.New England (5-2) at Buffalo (2-5), Monday nightESPN must have liked the idea of the Bills, coming off their first playoff berth since before ESPN was created — well, not quite — against Tom Brady and the Patriots.Instead, this could be a classic rout. Consider these numbers:—The Patriots are 31-4 in the past 35 meetings.—Brady holds the NFL career wins record by a quarterback against one opponent with a 28-3 record.—New England is 7-0 in night games against the Bills.—The Patriots have scored 21 or more points in the first half in each of the past four games this season to match a franchise-best streak, and the Bills have allowed 24 or more points in the first half three times.Cleveland (2-4-1) at Pittsburgh (3-2-1)Another lopsided rivalry, though this game has some cachet because the Browns tend to play the Steelers tough before losing. They tied to open the season. The Steelers come off a bye. They have won the past 14 meetings at Heinz Field; Cleveland’s last victory in Pittsburgh came in October 2003. Plus, the Browns have lost 24 straight road games, two shy of the NFL record owned by the Lions (2007-10). And the Browns are 6-32-1 overall against Pittsburgh since 1999, when Cleveland re-entered the NFL.The Browns lead the NFL with 20 takeaways, but they have scored only 31 points off those turnovers.Pittsburgh’s Ben Roethlisberger is 22-2-1 all-time against the Browns and unbeaten at home. He’s an Ohio native.Washington (4-2) at New York Giants (1-6)The New York tabloids already are projecting which college quarterback the Giants will draft after they finish near the bottom of the standings for a second successive season. Maybe if they had anyone who could pass protect, the conversation wouldn’t be so tilted against Eli Manning, who barely has time to look downfield as he sets up to throw. In comes surprise NFC East leader Washington, which ranks fifth in defense and has one of the top candidates for Comeback Player of the Year in Adrian Peterson. The veteran has 95-plus yards rushing in four of six games.Tampa Bay (3-3) at Cincinnati (4-3)It’s natural to wonder about the Bengals‘ psyche after Cincinnati again blew a lead at home to Pittsburgh, then got hammered in Kansas City. The Bengals took the second-most-lopsided loss in coach Marvin Lewis’ 16 seasons with that 45-10 debacle at the Chiefs. They had only one drive longer than 50 yards and a season-low 239 yards gained.Tampa stopped a three-game skid as dramatically as possible. Chandler Catanzaro made a 59-yard FG — the longest in OT since 1974 — for a 26-23 win over the Browns. The Buccaneers lead the NFL in total yards per game (449.5) and yards passing per game (364).New York Jets (3-4) at Chicago (3-3)A few weeks ago Color Rush Ka'dar Hollman Jersey , the Bears sure were representing the city of big shoulders well, reviving talk of the Monsters of the Midway on defense, looking like a burgeoning power on offense. Then came a pair of losses and the Bears plummeted from the top of the NFC North to the bottom.Chicago led the league with 18 sacks through the first four games. The Bears have one since. Star Khalil Mack has no sacks in the past two games while being limited by an ankle injury, after getting five in the first four outings.Jets first-rounder Sam Darnold is learning how difficult a rookie QB’s life can be. He’s coming off his worst game as a pro with three interceptions. The No. 3 overall draft pick leads the league with 10 interceptions to go with one of the NFL’s worst completion rates (56.1 percent) and passer ratings (74.3).Indianapolis (2-5) at Oakland (1-5)The teardown of the roster continues in Oakland, where Jon Gruden dealt his top receiver, Amari Cooper, to Dallas.Indianapolis QB Andrew Luck seeks his fifth straight game with at least three TD passes. Luck has 15 TDs in his past four games. Oakland is last in the league with seven sacks.Kicker Adam Vinatieri needs five points to break Morten Andersen’s NFL career scoring record (2,544 points) but is plagued by an injured groin.San Francisco (1-6) at Arizona (1-6)The Cardinals have won eight of the past nine in this series, including three weeks ago.San Francisco is minus-15 in turnover margin, worst in the NFL.Arizona fired offensive coordinator Mike McCoy this week, replacing him with QBs coach Byron Leftwich. Star WR Larry Fitzgerald needs 135 yards to pass Terrell Owens into second place in NFL career yards receiving.

While it’s not official yet, a 20-person class could be on tap next year with a large emphasis on the backlog of worthy senior candidates. At their annual meeting Friday, the Hall’s Board of Trustees approved a motion that would add 12 spots to the normally eight-man class. Typically, five modern era candidates join two senior candidates and one contributor for induction. The new proposal boosts the senior candidates to a ten-man class and the contributors to three while adding two coaches to the mix, as well. Five modern-era candidates plus ten senior candidates, three contributors, and two coaches would add up for one massive class.Keeping the modern era candidates at five Chris Ivory Jersey , this change benefits the senior candidates the most. Senior candidates need to have been retired for more than 25 years. Cookie Gilchrist is the most obvious former Buffalo Bills player who could benefit from the change. He was the first player to rush for 1000 yards in one AFL season (on a 14-game schedule) in 1962 and he also earned AFL MVP honors and set the all-time record for the league with 13 touchdowns. In 1963, he set the single-game pro football record with 243 rushing yards and five touchdowns against the New York Jets. He led the AFL in scoring for his three years with the Bills. He was also a great blocker and fierce civil rights advocate. He was an all-star for ten straights years (six in the CFL and four in the AFL) and was named as the fullback on the All-AFL team. CFL stats count in the Pro Football Hall of Fame but aren’t compared apples to apples with AFL and NFL stats.(For the record, Steve Tasker played through 1997 and is still a modern-era candidate as are the vast majority of the Super Bowl Bills.)In the coaching ranks, former Bills coach Chuck Knox and former Bills player Marty Schottenheimer would both seem to have some claim toward the two spots available. Schottenheimer has the most coaching wins of among inactive coaches not already in the Hall of Fame. Knox is third on that list. Working against them is neither won a conference title, much less a Super Bowl, and both have putrid playoff records.Next February and summer could be a massive undertaking in Canton, Ohio. Johnson is a tone-setter in the locker room who was a team captain for the Hurricanes. Extremely passionate, Johnson will endear himself to coaches and fans with his exceptional personality.Johnson’s mindset is first-round caliber, but physically he doesn’t match up to NFL prototypes. The safety stands 5’10” and 191 lbs, with short arms and small hands. He ran a 4.69 forty yard dash and had a 33” vertical leap at the Combine—not great results for a defensive back. He did lead the Hurricanes with 96 tackles this season, a testament to good tackling technique and instincts. The hope here is that his football intelligence and intensity will upgrade his ceiling despite any physical limitations. For now, Johnson’s destination is on special teams. His open-field tackling technique should make him an effective punt gunner. In the sixth round http://www.thebillslockerroom.com/authentic-taron-johnson-jersey , you want players who can lock a spot on the roster, preferably through special teams. Johnson will fit that role, and he has the passion to grow into a leader in the locker room. I can’t argue with that choice by the Bills.

He has 31 starts at safety in 72 career games. He is an unspectacular player who is perhaps better suited to a reserve role, but can be called upon to play both safety spots and slot cornerback if needed. He started only six games in 2018 Color Rush Dexter Lawrence Jersey , but was 10th on the defense with 521 snaps played.Thomas is, however, best known as a special teams player. One of the best in the league in that role for several seasons, he was finally acknowledged with his first Pro Bowl appearance after last season. He led the Giants with 347 special teams snaps played, and compiled a team-leading nine special teams tackles.Thomas is also an outstanding veteran presence. He is a stand-up guy who is always at his locker willing to speak with media in both good and bad times. He has been involved in special teams rules changes. He is active in the community. He figures to be the third safety behind Jabrill Peppers and Antoine Bethea, and to perhaps move into the slot in occasional sub packages. He also figures to again be a critical special teams player. EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP)The New York Giants added a major pass rusher on the opening day of training camp, signing veteran linebacker Connor Barwin. The Giants announced the move Wednesday as veterans reported to training camp at the team’s headquarters adjacent to MetLife Stadium. While terms were not disclosed, the deal was believed to be worth $5 million over two years.Barwin has played in 127 regular-season games with 109 starts for Houston, Philadelphia and the Los Angeles Rams. The 2014 Pro Bowler has also started six playoff games. His career totals include 449 tackles Red Dexter Lawrence Jersey , 55 1/2 sacks, six forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, 42 passes defensed, and one interception. His career sacks total is the highest among current Giants, surpassing Olivier Vernon’s 44. Barwin had five sacks in 14 games last season.Barwin is the second linebacker to join the Giants after playing last season for the Rams; inside backer Alec Ogletree was acquired in a trade on March 14.To create room on the roster Cheap Dexter Lawrence Jersey , the Giants waived tight end Kyle Carter.”Connor and I were together in Philadelphia,” said coach Pat Shurmur, who has taken over a team that won three games last season. ”Veteran player, edge player, so he could play the outside linebacker position, he could be involved in the pass rush when we get to our four-man rush. But NBC Sports’ use of the “BatCam” and high-definition monitors in the broadcast booth for the first time allowed announcer Larry Collmus to call the race – providing viewers accurate play-by-play – despite not being able to see the horses.Much of the same technology will be utilized again at the Belmont on Saturday. In fact, it could be used at all Triple Crown and Breeders’ Cup races to ensure fans at home can see the race sometimes better than those at the racetrack.“They put you in the best seat in the house,” said Drew Esocoff, who has directed NBC’s Triple Crown telecasts since 2011. “These cameras, whether they’re high-def or 4K, also allow for better manipulation of video: zooming in, zooming out without major degradation of the video quality. It just makes the viewing experience better and you’re also looking at it on high-def monitors. Compared to what you saw 25, 30 years ago Youth Matthew Slater Jerseys , it’s night and day.”Viewers benefit from some of the same technology that allowed NBC to broadcast the foggy Atlanta Falcons–New England Patriots NFL game in 2017 because unique camera angles can be used to show the action that may otherwise be obscured by weather. The monitors, which won’t be seen by viewers, are essential for Collmus, especially at the Preakness and other races where infield festivities block his view of the backstretch.Collmus, who has been the voice of all Triple Crown races on NBC since 2011, could have used the technology four years ago when he called American Pharoah running through the driving rain in the Preakness on the way to being the sport’s first Triple Crown winner since 1978. The monitors that were put in because of an additional infield concert stage last year actually turned out to be a Godsend because the fog forced him to call the entire race off them.“I call races through a pair of binoculars, my normal routine, and last I looked, they don’t work in the fog Matthew Slater Jerseys Stitched ,” Collmus said. “I just looked out over the track and realized, hey, you’re not going to be able to see anything. … I was completely dependent on camera shots.”After preparing for the situation by setting up anticipated camera angles that could show the race, Pierre Moossa, who directed Justify’s foggy Preakness victory because Esocoff was at a graduation, shifted from shot to shot. The television production truck parked outside the grandstand was full of white screens. As soon as Moossa saw the flash of a horse and gave the American viewing public the chance to see far better than anyone at Pimlico. The biggest difference from inside the production truck was the addition of the zip-line “BatCam” camera similar to the SkyCam used in football. Without that, the race would’ve been run almost blind with no video record to show for much of it.“It was the first year we had ever had that at the Preakness Stakes,” Moossa said. “That was able to be low enough to be able to cover the backstretch. If that camera wasn’t there, you would not have seen any horses for the entire backstretch. There was no other way to cover it.”The good news for viewers is now races can be called in almost any conditions.FOX Fantasy AutoForm a Racing Team Kenny Britt Jersey , Compete for PrizesPlay Now! Does he deserve a new deal that would extend his contract with the Patriots?“Have I earned [an extension]?” Brady said to reporters, via Darren Hartwell of NBCSportsBoston.com. “I don’t know, that’s up for talk show debate,” Brady told reporters Wednesday at Patriots training camp. “What do you guys think? Should we take a poll? Talk to Mr. Kraft, come on.”In 2019, Brady will earn $14 million in base salary; the question is whether the Patriots could give him a major boost, given the reality that Father Time eventually will win. His ever-advancing age could make the Patriots inclined to take Brady’s contract on a year-to-year basis. Brady was asked whether he’d welcome that approach.“We’re all day to day if you think about it,” Brady said Womens Adam Butler Jersey , putting a twist on an old bit. “None of us are really promised anything. But rather than dole out advice from one high draft pick to another after 12 NFL seasons, Washington’s veteran starter wants Darnold to chart his own path as a rookie.“All these situations are different,” Smith said. “He’s got some good guys in his QB room to lean on that have played a lot of ball, so he certainly didn’t need to hear me tell him anything. I think my rookie year’s probably more of an example of what not to do as opposed to what to do.”Before he can potentially earn the Jets’ starting job, Darnold could get the nod against Smith in the teams’ next preseason game Thursday night. Coach Todd Bowles would only say White Marcus Maye Jerseys , “All of our quarterbacks need to be ready to play,” but Darnold took the majority of first-team snaps this week and impressed the Redskins.Cornerback Josh Norman compared Darnold’s decision-making skills to Philadelphia’s Carson Wentz and Dallas’ Dak Prescott and found out firsthand that Darnold doesn’t throw like a rookie.“This little kid is not mistakes and he’s really accurate,” Norman said. “It’s kind of like, dang. You get rookies in here, you’re trying to like mess with them and bait them a little bit into thinking that he was going to throw a route that you know you could make a play on, and he’s not having it. And it’s so crazy to see that at an early age.”Fully aware of his early age Marcus Maye Jerseys 2019 , Darnold wants to be faster at calling plays and breaking the huddle. Bowles wants to see the USC product catch up on the playbook and knows the best experience comes from game action.“He studies his playbook and he goes out and tries to execute on the field and he tries to learn, which is great,” Bowles said. “You can’t see growth until years pass by, to a degree. I’m not going to measure him day-by-day from a growth standpoint in three weeks.”Smith doesn’t feel qualified to judge Darnold’s game cover to cover but liked what he saw at workouts this week.“Just from afar, I thought he looked good,” Smith said. “He has a great skillset White ArDarius Stewart Jerseys , can really throw it. He moves around well. I think he has good eyes.”Darnold, the third overall pick, actually looks a lot like Smith after the 49ers took him first in the 2005 draft. But it’s not on Smith to tutor Darnold; that’s up to veteran Jets Josh McCown and Teddy Bridgewater. The 39-year-old McCown is competing with Darnold for the starting job but has nothing but nothing but positive early impressions.“More than anything (he) does a good job of taking the classroom to the grass pretty efficiently. It doesn’t take him multiple meetings and walkthroughs and different things,” McCown said. “So far everything you look for to play the position, whether it’s just the desire and the want to and all that, all of those things are there and you have to have that in order to have a chance in this league.” The Patriots have outscored their first two opponents 76-3 ArDarius Stewart Jerseys 2019 , they’re stacked with talent on both sides of the ball and they’ve got the winningest coach/quarterback combo in NFL history, so it’s not a great surprise that the start to the season has some people wondering if they can run the table in the regular season. It’s also not a great surprise that someone would pose a question about the chances of that to quarterback Tom Brady. That’s what happened during a Monday appearance on WEEI and Brady’s answer was equally unsurprising to those who have followed these Patriots over the years.“So, I’m not thinking about anything more than 3-0 because that’s the only thing that matters,” Brady said. “That’s what we got this week. Today, wake up and I’m thinking about the Jets and how they’re going to attack us and how we need to attack them. It’s going to ebb and flow over the course of the whole season. There are big challenges ahead and to take your eye off what’s really important is a disservice to the team and we’re not doing that.”The Patriots haven’t been challenged in the first two weeks of the season and the Bills are the only team on the upcoming schedule — home for the Jets, at Buffalo and Washington White Darron Lee Jerseys , home for the Giants and at the Jets — that’s actually won a game this season, so this may not be the last time Brady’s going to be asked about the chances of making another run at an undefeated season.

Over the next few days leading up to this year’s draft, Acme Packing Company will examine the Packers’ history at each current slot for 2019, as well as run down the names of recent picks around the league at the position. This year, the Packers’ third-round draft pick slots in at the 75th overall position. The Packers have picked 75th four times in the team’s history, but only one made any significant contributions to the franchise. Two picks never played in the league, while the fourth player ended up as a multi-year starter for another franchise.Meanwhile, there have been a few notable picks by other NFL teams at 75 in recent years. One is a franchise left tackle Darnell Savage Jersey 2019 , as the Saints nabbed Terron Armstead in 2013, but that came a year after Seattle drafted Wisconsin quarterback Russell Wilson at that pick.Packers History at #751954: Sam Marshall, OT1958: Doug Maison, RBNeither of the first two picks at 75 overall in team history ever played a game in the NFL. In the 1950s, the 75th pick came in the seventh round of the draft, so this should not come as a huge surprise.1990: Bobby Houston, LBThe first of the Packers’ picks at 75 who actually played a down in the NFL was Houston, from North Carolina State. However, he only played one game for the Packers as a rookie. He ended up with the Atlanta Falcons later that year, then left for the New York Jets as a Plan B free agent in the spring of 1991.Once with the Jets, Houston found his game. After playing 14 games as a backup in 1991, Houston became a starter in 1992, holding on to a job in the starting lineup for five seasons through 1996. He posted 14.5 sacks with the Jets, adding six forced fumbles and four interceptions. His career gradually faded out Darnell Savage Jersey Mens , playing for three teams over two final seasons.2006: Jason Spitz, OLFinally, the Packers landed a contributor at 75 in 2006, Ted Thompson’s second draft as general manager. Over five seasons, Spitz started at every position on the interior of the offensive line, but he lost his grip on a starting position after suffering an injury during the 2009 campaign.Spitz was the Packers’ key backup interior lineman on the 2010 Super Bowl XLV team — he suited up for every game that season, but did not start, as the team got full seasons from left guard Daryn Colledge, center Scott Wells, and right guard Josh Sitton.Recent History at #752018: Derrick Nnadi, DT, Florida State (Chiefs)2017: Duke Riley, LB, LSU (Falcons)2016: Shilique Calhoun Youth Darnell Savage Jersey , DE, Michigan State (Raiders)2015: Garrett Grayson, QB, Colorado State (Saints)2014: Tre Mason, RB, Auburn (Rams)2013: Terron Armstead, OT, Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Saints)2012: Russell Wilson, QB, Wisconsin (Seahawks)2011: John Moffitt, G, Wisconsin (Seahawks)

The NFL is in full offseason mode White Ramon Humber Jerseys , and after a brief opening statement on the Super Bowl, we dive into your Buffalo Bills questions. This week, we tackle the roster building question about which place is better for roster building; free agency or the NFL Draft. It’s our featured question of the week below the podcast player. We also tackle questions this week on who will be a surprising veteran cut by the Bills this offseason, what would have to happen for Sean McDermott to be on the hot seat in 2020, who might have been the Bills coach in 2017 if McDermott was hired by the Cleveland Browns, the job Kim and Terry Pegula have done as owners, and the possibility of adding troubled but talented running back Kareem Hunt. As always, you can call us at 716-508-0405 to leave your question about the Bills. That line is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week—so call any time! General manager Brandon Beane has been talking about a veteran presence at center since the Senior Bowl. He wants that experienced anchor to the offensive line to help out Josh Allen in setting protections and solidifying the middle of the line, allowing them to potentially place inexperienced players at both guard spots.Let’s look at the track record for Beane:In September of 2017, just a few months after Beane took over as GM, he signed Eric Wood to a contract extension even though he had time remaining on his current deal. After Wood abruptly retired due to injury, Beane signed a four-year starter who had never missed a game as a pro; Russell Bodine. In Carolina, Beane watched as Ryan Kalil was named All-Pro twice and wne to the Pro Bowl five times. He earned several contract extensions with the Panthers, playing 12 years.Centers have been important for teams Beane has been on and he has ponied up the money for them time and time again. With that being said, only two guys are clear upgrades over Bodine; Matt Paradis and Mitch Morse.Paradis is recovering from a broken leg, but had made 57 consecutive starts for the Denver Broncos prior to that. He’s expected the be the crown jewel of the center class, and he is used to the weather of Denver (and Idaho, his home state). If Buffalo ponies up the money White Jerry Hughes Jerseys , they might be a team that can attract him.Buffalo coach Sean McDermott should have some connection to Morse through Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid. Not quite as durable as Paradis, Morse has been almost as good of a player when he stays in the lineup. He’s started 49 games over four seasons, playing in only 18 games over the last two years. Morse is more than three years younger than Paradis, which could also factor into the conversation. The rest of the center class have major injury problems, blocking problems, intelligence problems, or some combination of the three. At best, they are an even swap with Bodine, so there’s little point in adding them.If they want a solid center who is a clear upgrade over Bodine and doesn’t need time to adjust to the NFL, they need to grab one of these two guys. Even if it’s Paradis for three years to shepherd the young Allen from inexperienced to a veteran, it will be worth it.Show notes:Upgrading at the center positionList of centers available in free agencyList of centers available in the 2019 NFL DraftSurprise veteran cutsBills roster and cap hitsHere’s the contract page for my answer (LISTEN TO THE PODCAST!)List of available players at that positionMoreCleveland Browns decision-makers wanted Sean McDermott - except their ownerNFL.com report on Kareem Hunt likely being suspended for more than six gamesRemember Jerry Hughes Jerseys 2019 , you can call us at 716-508-0405 to leave your question about the Bills. Defensive end Jerry Hughes is set to stay around Buffalo a little longer.Hughes was heading into the final year of his current contract, but Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Hughes and the team have agreed to a two-year extension. Per the report, the deal is worth up to $23 million with $19.5 million in guarantees. The Bills discussed trading Hughes to the Rams last season, but didn’t reach an agreement in terms and the Rams moved on to acquire Dante Fowler from the Jaguars instead. He wound up recording seven sacks and three forced fumbles while appearing in every game.Hughes has not missed a game since landing with the Bills in a 2013 trade with the Colts. He was viewed as something of a disappointment in Indy after recording five sacks in three years after being selected in the first round of the 2010 draft, but he’s been more productive in Buffalo and is on track to continue playing a key role on their defense into the next decade.
