In order to make room for him, they released defensive back Jack Tocho.During his college career at Minnesota Matt Wile Jersey , Myrick collected five interceptions and two touchdowns. He then turned some heads by running the fastest 40-yard dash at the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine for defensive backs, clocking in at 4.27 seconds. He was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the seventh round of the draft, and appeared in five games for the Jaguars last season.Myrick’s big highlight from last year was blocking an extra point against the San Francisco 49ers in December, a kick that his Jacksonville teammate scooped up and returned for two points.Myrick was released by the Jaguars as part of their final cuts this past week, and now finds himself back in Minnesota.Tocho Rashod Hill Jersey , on the other hand, has once again been released from the practice squad. Should the LA Rams trade Jared Goff before giving him a massive deal? An interesting topic came up on twitter today Darrell Henderson Jersey Cheap , when ESPN’s Bill Barnwell suggested that a team would potentially try to - and the Rams might be interested in listening to - trade offers for Los Angeles Rams’ quarterback Jared Goff a year or two down the road.Now this is obviously not a rumor or speculation, but more so a look at how the Rams could continue to keep star talent all over their roster by not having to potentially pay Goff $100M(+) when the time comes due. It’s certainly a very risky proposition, as there are no guarantees the Rams don’t completely fall apart without a strong QB. There are a few things to consider here. First of all, you’d have to come to grips with trading away the No. 1 overall pick without any guarantees of acquiring an even half decent starter. Sean Mannion certainly wouldn’t be able to carry the team to the postseason. And then you’d have to consider whether or not Sean McVay would be the QB whisperer to another young QB and provide the same type of results we saw from Goff in 2017. But if you can wrap your brain around the idea, the next question is what the compensation would look like.If the Rams were to be offered a 1st round pick, the answer is definitely no. But if a team, let’s say a not very good team with a huge need for a QB, was to offer you TWO first round picks, then maybe it’s something to consider. Maybe not. But at some point in time the potential trade compensation has to get you thinking. At any rate, the TST staff were having some fun with the idea...well, we were mostly bickering, but I felt it might be something the TST fans - who are smarter than us - might enjoy. He completed passes for yards, but did have a killer interception that pretty well buried the Vikings’ chances of a comeback in this one.On the bright side, Adam Thielen did make history by going over the 100-yard mark for the eighth straight game. That breaks Charlie Hennigan’s mark for the most 100-yard games to start a season, and ties him with Calvin Johnson for the most consecutive 100-yard games in a season overall. He has a chance to break that record next week.Diggs actually led the Vikings in receiving in this one, catching ten passes for 119 yards and a touchdown. Thielen wound up with seven catches for 103 yards and a score. Kyle Rudolph and Latavius Murray each wound up with 39 receiving yards in this one.On the ground Tom Compton Jersey , Latavius Murray had a decent game, rushing for 56 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries. His opportunities after halftime were slim with the Vikings trailing. Thielen had 15 yards on the ground, and Mike Boone had a trio of carries for 11 yards.Defensively, the short-handed Vikings didn’t do that badly. Despite the absence of Anthony Barr, Xavier Rhodes, and Andrew Sendejo, Drew Brees threw for just 120 yards and a touchdown, and the Saints as a team had just 270 yards of offense. After that, Woods does a great job becoming a physical ball carrier breaking a tackle and gaining major yards after the catch. This was just one of a handful of big plays from the dependent-yet-great wide receiver.The Rams went into Century Link undefeated and left in the same manner. It was another good offensive performance for a team that seems unstoppable on that side of the ball. The defense needs to do a better job moving forward though.

They had Case Keenum, who was coming off of the best season of his career in leading the Vikings to the 2017 NFC Championship Game. They had Sam Bradford, who looked amazing in the 2017 opener before getting injured and giving way to Keenum. And they had Teddy Bridgewater, who fought back from a gruesome knee injury to get back on the field and had endeared himself to many of the Vikings’ faithful despite not putting up huge statistical numbers.Yet, when the time came to give out a big quarterback contract in March of 2018, Vikings’ GM Rick Spielman, head coach Mike Zimmer, and offensive coordinator John DeFilippo decided that the answer to that question was “none of the above.” Instead, they wined, dined, and eventually gave the first fully-guaranteed contract in the NFL’s free agency era to Kirk Cousins. Cousins had bided his time in Washington, playing under the franchise tag for two consecutive years, but was never really embraced by the coaching staff in the nation’s capital. . .or the majority of the fan base, for that matter.It’s still early in the season, but to this point it appears that the people that run the Vikings might kind of sort of have an idea about what they’re doing.We’ll skip Bridgewater, who hasn’t seen the field in 2018 because he’s backing up Drew Brees in New Orleans.In Arizona, Bradford started the first three games of the season for the Cardinals (who the Vikings will see this coming Sunday). In those three games, he threw for a total of 400 yards, including a 90-yard performance in a shutout loss against the Rams. He was pulled late in the team’s Week 3 loss to Chicago in favor of rookie Josh Rosen. In each of the last two games, not only has Bradford not played, he hasn’t even been active. That means that not only was he behind Rosen on the depth chart, he’s now behind Mike Glennon.Yes, Mike Glennon. But at least he’s getting about $20 million this year to not dress on game day.In Denver, things haven’t been much better for Keenum. He got off to a decent enough start, throwing three touchdown passes (and three interceptions) in a season-opening victory over Seattle. Then, he had no touchdown passes in Week 2.Or Week 3.Or Week 4.He finally got back on track against the Jets on Sunday with two more scoring throws Adam Thielen Jersey , but the Broncos are now riding a three-game losing streak after winning their first two games.Cousins, on the other hand, has been pretty good.With Brees yet to play in Week 5 action, Cousins is currently second in the NFL in passing yardage (behind Jared Goff), and is currently completing over 71% of his passes, despite being one of the most pressured quarterbacks in the National Football League so far this season. He’s thrown 11 touchdown passes through the team’s first five games, and has thrown only two interceptions, both of which came on passes that really should have been caught by their intended receiver. He’s on pace to shatter just about every Vikings’ single-season passing record.I understand that Cousins gets the benefit of an incredibly talented supporting case, with Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs comprising the best receiving duo in the NFL and Kyle Rudolph continuing to do his thing as well. Keenum and Bradford undoubtedly benefited from having those players to work with as well. However, Cousins was good before he got the opportunity to work with this group of skill position players. The Vikings knew that Cousins’ skills would be even more enhanced by getting to work with those guys. Keenum and Bradford, on the other hand, got the benefit of playing with those players as well but couldn’t get the Vikings to the promised land.I can’t imagine that there are a lot of holdouts left in the pro-Keenum or pro-Bradford or pro-Bridgewater camps after the first five weeks of this season. However, at this early juncture, it sure does look like the Vikings have made the right decision. We are less than twenty-four hours away from kicking things off at MetLife Stadium for this Sunday’s contest between the New York Jets and your Minnesota Vikings. We're going to gush about some of the rapid improvements Mahomes made in negotiating the pocket this week. This was one of many examples of a perfectly-timed step up and escape from the pocket. Not only did he negotiate the pocket perfectly, but he also worked with his eyes upfield and pumped a throw to Tyreek Hill before seeing a void and Kelce coming late on the scramble drill. This second half throw resulted in the Chiefs attempting a field goal from the 3-yard line in a close game on the road. I was fully prepared to rip Andy Reid for a decision to surrender the chance for six. I still disagree with the call, even though it ultimately didn't matter.I like the idea of moving the pocket on this third-and-goal. Mahomes doesn't have anyone open and with a defender closing, puts his foot in the ground and makes the defender miss. Since he was in a sprint out design Armani Watts Jersey , stopping his movement to the sideline means that more defenders are closing. He had to get rid of the ball quickly.The ability to process in chaos and have the presence of mind to see Demarcus Robinson working toward him so quick, the ability to deliver the ball on a rope and accurately, all with a guy on the verge of hitting him, is absurd. Houston Texans star defensive end J.J. Watt has won the NFL’s Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.

The recipient of the award recognizes a player’s contribution in his community and to society in general.

Watt Womens Justin Tucker Jersey , in his seventh NFL season and a three-time Defensive Player of the Year, had the goal of raising $200,000 for Hurricane Harvey relief in Houston.

His fundraising did a whole lot more, bringing in an incredible $37 million in 19 days. Watt has dedicated himself to finding organizations that will apply the funds in a way he has promised both donors and victims of the storm.

One night before he hopes to add a sixth Super Bowl title to his collection, Tom Brady has won The Associated Press NFL 2017 Most Valuable Player Award.

The four-time Super Bowl MVP of the New England Patriots also took the regular-season award in 2007 and 2010. He’s the fifth straight quarterback to win.

At 40, Brady had one of his best seasons with 32 touchdown passes and eight interceptions, a passer rating of 102.8 and, not incidentally, a 13-3 record to top the AFC. He did that despite missing his favorite receiver, Julian Edelman, for the entire schedule.

Brady earned 40 votes from a nationwide panel of 50 media members who regularly cover the league. That easily outdistanced Rams running back Todd Gurley with eight, and Eagles QB Carson Wentz with two. Wentz was considered a strong MVP contender before tearing up his left knee in Game 13.

In his first season running a team, and as the youngest head coach in NFL history, Sean McVay won The Associated Press 2017 NFL Coach of the Year award.

McVay, who turned 32 on Jan. 24 Youth Harrison Phillips Jersey , led the Los Angeles Rams to an 11-5 record, a seven-game improvement from the mark they managed the previous year.

The Rams won their first NFC West title since 2003, and second-year quarterback Jared Goff improved exponentially under McVay’s guidance.

McVay ran away with the voting by a nationwide panel of 50 media members who regularly cover the league. He drew 35 votes to 11 for Minnesota’s Mike Zimmer. Doug Marrone of Jacksonville received two votes, while the Super Bowl coaches, Philadelphia’s Doug Pederson and New England’s Bill Belichick, each got one.

Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly has won the 2017 Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award.

The award recognizes the NFL player who best demonstrates the qualities of outstanding sportsmanship on the playing field, including fair play, respect for opponents and integrity in competition.

The award was founded in 2014 in honor of the late founding owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pro Football Hall of Famer Art Rooney, Sr.

Kuechly will receive a $25,000 donation from the NFL Foundation to a charity of his choice.

Pat Shurmur heads to his new job as coach of the New York Giants with a prize.

For his work as offensive coordinator with the Minnesota Vikings, Shurmur has won The Associated Press 2017 NFL Assistant Coach of the Year award.

With a backup quarterback, Case Keenum, and without prized rookie running back Dalvin Cook for most of the year, Shurmur helped Minnesota go 13-3 and win the NFC North with a strong attack. The Vikings ranked 11th overall in offense, doing so without a true star.

Shurmur earned 24 votes from a nationwide panel of 50 media members who regularly cover the NFL. Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen returned from two devastating injuries to win The Associated Press 2017 NFL Comeback Player of the Year Award.

Allen missed half of the 2015 season with a kidney issue, then was lost in the 2016 season opener with a torn right ACL. There were questions if Allen would ever player at a high level again.

He answered those emphatically this season with the best year of his career. Allen caught 102 passes for 1,393 yards and six touchdowns. He was targeted 159 times, nearly 10 per game.

That performance earned him 28 votes from a nationwide panel of 50 media members who regularly cover the league. He easily outdistanced Minnesota quarterback Case Keenum, who had eight.

Hard-hitting linebackers Ray Lewis and Brian Urlacher and big-play receiver Randy Moss all made the Pro Football Hall of Fame on their first try, while controversial receiver Terrell Owens got in on his third time on the ballot.

Safety Brian Dawkins also got voted by the 47 Hall of Fame voters as part of the eight-person class that also included contributor Bobby Beathard and senior nominees Jerry Kramer and Robert Brazile.

Lewis and Urlacher helped define playing middle linebacker in their era with Lewis winning two AP Defensive Player of the Year awards and one Super Bowl MVP for Baltimore and Urlacher winning a Defensive Player of the Year award of his own.

Moss and Owens were two of the most dynamic receivers of their time, but also lightning rods because of an inability to get along well with teammates and coaches at times that led to each playing for five teams in their careers.

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) – The Arizona Cardinals released safety Tyrann Mathieu after the two sides couldn’t rework his contract.

Mathieu was due for $18.75 million of his contract to be guaranteed when the league year officially began. By cutting him, Arizona saved close to $5 million in cap space.

Mathieu became a star in the Arizona secondary after being selected in the third round of the 2013 draft following a troubled college career at LSU. He was an All-Pro in 2015, when he had five interceptions and 17 passes defensed. But he also has been plagued by injuries and only last season did Mathieu appear in all 16 games.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) – The Buffalo Bills took the first step in restocking their quarterback position by agreeing to a two-year contract with A.J. McCarron. The 27-year-old spent the past four seasons backing up Andy Dalton in Cincinnati after being selected by the Bengals in the fifth round of the 2014 draft.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – Tubby Smith was fired as Memphis basketball coach after two seasons amid dropping attendance and donations to the athletic department.

Smith told reporters he was no longer coach as he left a meeting with Memphis President M. David Rudd and athletic director Tom Bowen.

Smith went 40-26 at Memphis, including 21-13 this season. The Tigers won seven of their final nine games before losing Saturday to No. 8 Cincinnati in the American Athletic Conference Tournament semifinals Vinny Curry Jersey Elite , their third loss to the AAC champs this season.

Smith came to Memphis in April 2016 as one of only two coaches to lead five different schools to the NCAA Tournament. Now 66, he leaves without taking Memphis to any postseason tournament in his two seasons. Smith is 597-302 with a national title at Kentucky in 1998.

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) – Former Ohio State coach Thad Matta withdrew from the Georgia coaching search after becoming the first known candidate to interview for the job.

Georgia fired Mark Fox on Saturday, and Matta was in Athens only two days later.

Lingering back problems were an issue in Matta’s 13 years at Ohio State. His $9 million buyout includes a stipulation that he must make ”reasonable and diligent efforts” to find another coaching job. He also reportedly interviewed at Mississippi.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) – Extra innings throughout the minor leagues will start with a runner at second base.

In addition, the pitch clock that began at Triple-A and Double-A in 2015 will be lowered from 20 seconds to 15 when there are no runners on base, the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues said. The timer will remain at 20 seconds with runners on.

Looking to speed up the pace of play, Major League Baseball had hoped to have a similar rule for spring training and starting in the 11th inning of the All-Star Game but was stymied by the Major League Baseball Players Association Raiders Game Jerseys , which refused to agree.

New limits on mound visits without pitching changes also will be added, the minor league governing body said.

FAR HILLS, N.J. (AP) – Ernie Els and Jim Furyk received a special exemption to play in the U.S. Open this year at Shinnecock Hills on Long Island, New York.
