Path Of Exile Currency Guide: Farming Exalted Orbs

How to get a lot of PoE Currency , and preferably in a short time, and even at the very beginning of the league – this question interests many players in Path of Exile. In this guide, I would like to talk about the basic, proven methods of farming. Of course, some of them will change with the release of new leagues (most likely they will become less profitable), but most of them will work in new leagues. The main thing is not to focus on the amount of chaos of the orbs per hour, but to enjoy the process. After all, exalted orb (and mirror!) can fall anywhere, regardless of the chosen strategy.

Divination Cards

Some Exalted Orbs can be dropped from certain Divination Cards, they can be dropped on different maps, and cultivation in these places can obviously get spheres.

Even though it is unlikely that it will naturally fall, it is still possible to acquire and carry at least 5 x currency items.

The types and amounts of divination cards that can be exchanged for Exalted Orbs are as follows:

12 x The Hoarder give one Exalted Orb

10 x The Saint’s Treasure equal two Exalted Orbs

5 x Abandoned Wealth give three Exalted Orbs

7 x Alluring Bounty give ten Exalted Orbs

5 x Emperor’s Luck gives drops a random type of currency.

Currency flipping

A very good method of farming Exalted Orbs in PoE is exchanging lower grade currency with other players. The price for the exalted orb depends on the league that you are playing in. It is important to do it with players, not NPC’s. While selling your lower-tier currency to NPC, you will not get much profit.

Currency flipping is very useful when you do not want to craft gear on your own and just buy everything from other players.

Mob grinding

It is actually quite popular to grind mobs from time to time in the Path of Exile. Exalted orbs have a very low drop rate, but can be dropped from any mob out there, but there are certain areas and mobs which should give you a far better chance of getting orbs, and definitely at a faster rate.

Typically a good place to start farming is Burial Chambers. If you already have a high-level character, you can also try farming the Uber Elder. Keep in mind that to do that you already have to have completed 20 maps, but the treasures are oh so worth it! You should also probably work on the Atlas of Worlds while at it.

Through mapping

You will need to make a single map over and over again. The map name is Burial Chambers. Why you have to farm this particular map? Because there is a chance to drop an item called The Doctor card. The card is needed for making the Headhunter belt. Such card costs around 20 exalted orbs. It is not the most efficient method of currency farming, but a very good one. Additionally, you gain good experience on this map, so you combine business with pleasure. This method gives you more chance of getting orbs.

These are all useful methods of getting PoE currency if you are just starting out in the game. It can be overwhelming at first, and there are a lot of varying pieces of advice out there on the best ways to get as much currency as you can. However, the best thing to do is to find the right method for you, and do one that you are willing to put your time into. If you don’t want to waste too much time, you can choose a reliable store, https://www.igvault.com/POE-Currency is a reliable poe currency store, cheap prices and fast delivery.

Fast Way of Farming PoE Orbs 2020

Path of Exile Chaos Orb is just one of the main PoE Orbs items to activity and is, therefore, among the most preferred Currency in the game. How Do I Obtain A Lot More PoE Chaos Orbs? In this guide, we introduced some means to obtain PoE Chaos Orbs, such as you can get it by killing monsters, buying from various other sellers, making chaos recipe, farming divination cards, etc.

Gear Up

Equipping stronger gear at any time is a must in any RPG; it’s fundamental to boosting your orb drop rates. The caliber of gear you should be aiming for is the highest quality and rarity you can find. Rarity positively influences drop rates, therefore: the higher rarity, the more Chaos Orbs you’ll be able to find.

The best places to farm for blue/rare items are the Church Dungeon, followed by the Fellshire Ruins. Only pick up the blue/rare items, for efficiency. Fellshire is not the only place to farm Chaos Orbs, but it’s the safest area for all builds and classes. Chaos Orbs tend to drop more frequently in higher level areas (60+)

IIQ and IIR

IIQ (Increased Item Quantity) and IIR (Increased Item Rarity) are modifications (or mods) you can find on certain items that will help you progress further along the line in your orb farming endeavours. For example, look for the suffix “of Excavation” on rings, amulets and breastplates. This is an IIR mod that will give you (21-26)% increased rarity of loot.

If you’re looking for increased quantity, items such as Eber’s Key will grant you a 5% bonus to the amount of items you find in that area. Make the most of these mods to ensure that you get as many orbs as possible.

Please note! IIQ mods will not affect the drop rate of currency. This is best for if you’re farming gear to sell, not if you’re tryin to collect Orbs from mobs.

Boost Your Damage

The more mobs you can kill at once, the better chances you have of getting the item drop you’re after. Therefore you should concentrate on high-damage skills and area-of-effect (AOE) skills to maximise your damage output and ensure you get your kills. Tackle mobs en masse and use your strongest AOE skills. Curse gems are entirely AOE; use them to your advantage.

Be careful not to become overrun with too many mobs during this stage. If your Defense is not up to par, you will be knocked out and this will set you back in your farming journey.

Watch Your Level

There exists a currency penalty in all PoE zones based on your character’s level. If you have a level difference greater than 2 from the level of the area, you receive a penalty of 2.5% for every level after 2. For example: In a level 60 area a level 63 character will experience a 2.5% penalty.

However, take note that the penalty does not carry on in zones higher than level 66. In a level 72 character in a 60 zone will therefore only receive a 10% penalty, the same as a level 66 character.

Farm Silver Coins

Silver coins are an underestimated source of orbs. Orbs tend to trade for 9 or 10 silver coins. This is applicable to all characters and is therefore accessible for those at lower levels who perhaps can’t manage to grind higher level maps.

Save your silver coins! Don’t use them to seal a Prophecy. Save them for your orbs if you need them more.

If you are lack of POE Currency, I recommend you Buy PoE Orbs or Buy PoE Currency to save more time to enjoy the game, https://www.igvault.com/POE-Currency will be an option that you can't miss, and it will provide safe and cheap POE Currency for you to play better in the game.

Effective Guide to Farm more POE Currency

Still not figure out how to farm or Buy POE Currency ? No matter who you are, the first time you come to POE, there will be a tough time for making money. Next time, if you still ask me how to make much POE Currency, I will tell you where my currency comes from. Knowing you don't want to take risks, I suggest you use the most common and safe way to make money, well, farming.

Chaos Recipe and Rare Items

This is unlikely to interest experienced players, but it will be useful for beginners to find out about it. If you recently started playing Path of Exile, you probably won’t run through locations for quick access to maps and farm and end game. You most likely clear locations, do side quests and pick up most of the rare items that drop. And although this does not fit the already established speed meta (the faster the zone/content is cleared the better), this has its advantages. Unnecessary and identified rare items are sold to vendors in the city, and you will have a lot of Orb of Alteration. And in a new league, in a week, they can be exchanged profitably for chaos orbs (about 4-5 Orbs of Alteration for 1 Chaos orb).

There is also a Vendor recipe in the game. If you collect and sell a full unidentified rare item set, you can get 2-3 chaos orbs. What are full rare sets? These are 9 (or 10) items, rare quality: Helmet, Body Armor, Gloves, Boots, Belt, Amulet, two Rings and Weapons (one Two-Handed Weapon or two One-Handed Weapons or One-Handed Weapon with Shield). The main thing is that items should be 60-74 ilvl. Those starting from the 9th act of the main campaign and ending with “white” (tier 1-5) maps.

Prophecies

Although this activity is unlikely to bring you a huge amount of currency (unless of course some expensive prophecy doesn’t), it will still help to get a small number of chaos orbs. In general, I would single out 2 farm strategies related to Silver Coins.

Divination Cards

This option is suitable for those who spend most of the time farming a specific pool of cards. As soon as you select the appropriate divination card and map, these cards will have to be cleared more than a dozen, or even hundreds of times. Especially if these are rare and expensive cards, they are unlikely to fall after two or three maps. Divination card drop depends on item quantity bonus, so you should use chisels on your maps to maximize the bonus and so that the card has at least 75+ overall item quantity bonus.

In addition, it is advisable to use sextants with good bonuses, prophecies, master mission and Zana map device mods. Divination Scarabs will give a tangible bonus, but they are not cheap. Therefore, what to use from this list is up to you, because using it all at once, and all the more constantly, may end up being unprofitable if nothing worthwhile falls on maps.

Labyrinth Farming

Uber Labyrinth is a great place to farm things you can’t get any other way. Basically, players farm helmet enchants, as a good base with the right enchant will cost several exalted orbs. These bases include Lion Pelt or a Hubris Circlet with high ilvl (84+), as well as uniques like Starkonja’s Head and Devoto’s Devotion, which are so popular for many builds. Do not forget about Twice Enchanted prophecy, this will multiply by two your chances of getting the cherished enchantment.

Mapping Methods

First, simply farming the highest maps available. Farming tier 16 maps with enough investment to sustain them (chisels, alchemy orbs, vaal orbs, and sextants) is a very common and very profitable approach to mapping. It’s easy and doesn’t take a ton of thought, particularly if you find a way to run the same map over and over again. Personally I’ve ran around 1000 tier 16 Promenades in the last two leagues. Is it the best or easiest way to make money? No, but it’s a nice middle ground where it’s not too complicated, makes decent money, and gives you good exp to boot.

The second method is farming low tier maps, typically Burial Chambers. If you farm low tier maps they are incredibly easy to sustain, so you really only have to ‘alc and go’, meaning use an Orb of Alchemy and throw the map in the map device, nothing else needed. Because of the low investment into these maps, everything you get back is pure profit. You won’t get as much good loot as tier 16s, but your investment is so low that your profit margin ends up being very high. This is especially true if you farm maps like Burial Chambers that have good divination cards that can drop and give you large windfalls.

The third method is to run good layout tier 14s as fast as possible and farm the Conquerors and Sirus. These bosses drop loot that is very expensive, and they can be spawned by running an average of 40-50 red maps. As long as you are getting average drops from the bosses, you’ll make a ton of money doing this.

These are the main methods that people farm the endgame through mapping. This is a small step above simply putting any map you find into the map device and hoping for the best, which is itself not the worst for progressing. But these methods are the ones that will return the most money through typical maps.

If you are lack of POE Currency, I recommend you Buy Exalted Orb to save more time to enjoy the game, https://www.igvault.com/POE-Currency will be an option that you can't miss, and it will provide safe and cheap POE Currency for you to play better in the game.

POE 3.10 Delirium Currency Farming Tips

POE Currency , consisting of several orbs and scrolls, which is related to the newly added POE items in POE Delirium, and in the entire system of POE, POE Currency is also divided into different levels, the rarer, the more valuable, and the lower dorp rate from the monsters.

Currency is also used for crafting, as it never becomes obsolete. It can be found over 20 different currency orbs in Delirium league, and each of which has specific features. It is hard to figure them all out, so it is enough to figure out some common and valuable ones.

Character/Build

Let’s start this post off by saying PoE is at its best when you’re having fun. The clear speed meta exists for several reasons, and while its ticks in the pro column are very apparent, if you’re playing a build you don’t even enjoy just because its speedy, you’ll burn out in no time. The main point of this topic is quite simple, play what builds you enjoy.

Items

Have you chosen to push through the relentless grind and level all the way to level 100 this race? If so, skip ahead to the next section.

If you plan on running a lot of maps, I can’t recommend % quantity items enough. If you’re pushing for level 100 they can be somewhat of a hindrance, but if you don’t particularly care about experience gain at the time, find a way to make IQ items work with your build.

Map Device and Vendor placement

Here we have a screenshot of what my placement looks like the very second I come out of a map. The placement of the map device, stash chest, and Navali are all in my immediate vicinity, I don’t need to move a single step because all interactions are as quick as a click away. Is this super important? Not really, but it helps maintain momentum if you’re in “the zone”. And why not be more efficient with your time if you don’t mind where these objects are placed in your hideout?

Map rolling

Rolling your maps as you do them is horribly inefficient. The solution to this is to roll large chunks at a time, in this scenario we’re rolling 35 Cell maps at once. Using the highlight search bar below the process is as follows:

search “magic”, if there are any Magic maps, ID/Scour them.

search “rare”, if there are any Rare maps, ID/Scour them.

search “20%”, if there are any maps with 20% quality, make them their own separate pile

use chisels on the remaining Common maps until the 20% search has them all highlighted.

search the word “rare” again, and use alchemy orbs on all the maps until the rare search has them all highlighted.

From this point onward you search for mods on maps your build cannot do, in my case its only Elemental Reflect, a simple “refl” will highlight all the maps that rolled the Reflect mod, and I then repeat the process of using Scours and Alchemys until all maps are ready to run.

It’s worth noting at this point that I’d never use chisels on a Tier 3 map, it’s just part of the general map rolling process and it had to be included. I personally wouldn’t use chisels on any map under Tier 10.

A slightly controversial addition to the list, reason being is that it costs real $$. But it is a fact that cannot be dis proven – purchasing a Quad Stash Tab, or x4 Premium Stash Tabs, and using them to dump your map loot into for the sole purpose of sorting it all out later does WONDERS for your efficiency. The general idea is that you complete your map, portal out, immediately throw another map into the device and open it and then finish the rotation by CTRL + clicking everything in your inventory into the designated dump tab. By the time you’ve completed this, the 6 portals of your next map should be ready for you to go. While some people don’t particularly like this style of playing, it’s well known to be efficient due to the fact that your time spent playing is “pure” mapping, rather than dicking around in your hideout. Which is an easy habit to fall into.

Filters

With the creation of Filterblade making your own filter at the start of a new league has never been easier. The steps are concise and easy to follow and I highly recommend taking the hour or two to make your own specialized filter. The one and only rule a filter should abide by is “if it drops, I will pick that up”, everything else should be hidden so your mind and screen doesn’t become cluttered. As the league goes on and you need to tweak it to become stricter and stricter, it’s an easy fix in notepad, changing certain lines of code from “Show” to “Hide”, for example.

Leveling (at least 6) skill/support gems in 1 or 2 weapons in your offhand (seen by pressing ‘x’ in-game), granted that you don’t choose stupidly niche or flat-out never used gems (for instance Chance To Flee/Blind Support who’re gonna buy those?), is basically the definition of passive income. It is incredibly easy, “free” exalts if you: 1) level them, 2) learn league/patch metas and what skills and supports will be sought-after and 3) are lucky when using a Vaal Orb on them. To make it even more efficient you can add a factor of RNG to it and buy other people’s pre-leveled gems and take a risk it’ll corrupt into a profit (for example buy a 19/20 Cyclone, leveling it to 20/20, and corrupting it to 21/20 and then selling for a much higher price than what you bought it for. Which is what I did more than once in Incursion League).

Buy Orders

Something a fair few players don’t seem to realize is that they’re gimping their returns by buying chaos for their currency, rather than selling their currency for chaos. As much as it doesn’t sound like it – there absolutely is a difference here. This is the paradigm that currency flipping is based off. Player One buys 10 chaos for 23 Alchemy. Player Two has a “buy order” in place, selling his 10 chaos for 20 Alchemy, not only are Player Two’s rates more profitable, they don’t even have to leave their hideout, the player comes to them. You can set up your own buy orders in the “Manage your shop” part of poe.trade. Lots of time saving involved here.

Prophecies

Not a whole lot to say here, I feel Prophecies are severely overlooked and underrated, often due to the potential of proccing the tedious ones. Despite it being anecdotal evidence I can say that I have never lost chaos on Prophecies. It’s always been a net gain every single time. Pick up every single Silver Coin and use them. Seal and complete the basic, easy ones (use an Armorer Scrap/Whetstone/Chisel/Transmute), Seal and chuck in a random premium tab the ones you don’t wish to pursue, and Seal and sell the ones worth selling. It won’t be long before you see the worthwhile ones, Jewellers Touch, Twice Enchanted, Monstrous Treasure, etc. They all sell quite easy.

Chaos Tabs

The most unethical and pay-to-win idea of them all. This involves having (at least) several premium tabs you can dump rares into and never look at again. Said premium tabs have a designated price (a price decided by you, a price you raise as the league goes on), ranging from 5-20c. This is vaguely similar to the dump tab idea however this really shines when you’re at a stage of the league where your loot filter still shows rare items. Players tend to fill out their required resists on rings, therefore rings are what sell the easiest this way.

Without farming, the fastest way is to go to the stores to POE Currency Kaufen , https://www.igvault.com/POE-Currency is a secure site offering cheap POE Currency and POE Items. Since it has been engaged in POE Trade for many years, and the customers are satisfied with its excellent service and goods, it is believed to provide high-quality in-game currency for along time.

6 Tips and Tricks for Path of Exile 3.9

Farming is the easiest way to POE Currency in Path of Exile, but a lot of people struggle with it, never become really good it and never get to invest. In this farming guide, I'll teach you the right way to farm, which will enable you to make progress much faster. See below for each of these methods:

1 Pick a spell, trap or minion as your starting skill for easier scaling

If you’re new to Path of Exile, it’s very likely your leveling experience with a melee skill or a bow skill will be very unpleasant. This is due to how these skills scale – they primarily use the damage of your equipped weapon (with several exceptions). And accuracy rating is also a must.

While getting a decent weapon isn’t hard, it quickly diminishes in power as you progress through the game. But this is by design, so new weapon bases with higher stats become available, requiring you to craft them to keep up with the content. And you also need to increase your accuracy rating. Otherwise, enemies will die slower, the difficulty will spike, and you may start dying a lot.

Whereas spells, traps, and minions scale based on level, meaning these skills will get stronger with you. And they’ll never miss either. Some recommendations – Storm Brand, Frostbolt, Summon Raging Spirit, and Arc Traps(Arc + Trap Support). But any skill will feel horrible with a bad build. For example, trap skills aren’t that great without the “Clever Construction” passive skill. So don’t be afraid to look up existing builds!

Quicksilver flasks help you level and progress through the campaign faster

When starting out, your character is somewhat slow. So running through zones may feel like a long and uneventful trek. But that’s where Quicksilver flasks come in. They increase your movement speed by 40%, which is almost half of your base movement speed.

You can get the first one by completing “Mercy Mission” located on the Tidal Island, the game’s 4th zone:

And from then on Quicksilver Flasks can drop from any level 4+ enemy, so be on the lookout! Equip 1-3 of these bad boys and zoom through zones. Additionally, the increased movement speed will help you enemy dodge attacks more easily!

3 Always have bleed and freeze removal to avoid cheap deaths

Two of the most common causes of death in PoE are bleeding and being frozen. You can get the bleeding debuff from enemy attacks, labyrinth traps, and the corrupting blood nemesis effect. In the first two cases, damage taken increases the more you move around. So there’s a chance to survive if you stand still. But why would you stand still on a trap?

Whereas corrupting blood gives you a stack each time you hit the enemy, maxing out at 20. At lower levels, you can power through with life flasks. But the higher you get, the more brutal the damage will become, especially if your character has low armor. I’ve had cases where I bled to death in less than a second because I wasn’t paying attention.

In the same vein, freeze is a diabolical debuff that locks your character in place. You can’t move or attack, you can just hope for the best. Any cold damage that crits can freeze you. And it happens more often the lower your resists and the lower your total life pool. On top of that, Path of Exile’s strongest boss uses cold damage.

So the simplest solution to both bleed and freeze are flasks. Simply take a common (unmodded) flask. Make sure it’s at least itemlevel 4 for freeze removal and itemlevel 8 for bleed removal (press alt on an item to check).

If you don’t get the desired effect use alteration orbs. Or augmentation orbs if there’s no suffix in the item name. Alternatively, you can use Einhar beast crafting to immediately craft the needed mod. Or even use items, uniques (Wanderlust, Death’s Door, etc), and passive skills that grant these immunities.

Use utility flasks to maximize removal effects

The main difference between all flasks is not just their effect. Life, mana, and hybrid flasks will immediately end the instant your life and/or mana is full. So let’s say you have bleed removal on a life flask. You fight a corrupting blood nemesis, you use the flask once, your life gets full, the flask expires, and so does the bleed removal.

And if the nemesis is still alive, you get new corrupted blood stacks. But if your life flask doesn’t have charges, you’re out of luck. Then again, if you have the bleed removal on a basalt flask, the bleed removal effect will always have a 100% duration. Thus, it’s better to have utility flasks for removal effects.

Cap (and overcap) your elemental resistances for increased survival

There are only five damage types in PoE – physical, chaos, cold, fire, and lightning. Physical and chaos damage mitigation (armor and chaos resistance, respectively) helps but is not required for the most part. You’ll survive the weak hits but will often die from the really strong ones if you don’t dodge. (For example, Minotaur’s slam or Chimera’s blade flurry)

But it’s quite different for the elemental damage types. Your elemental resistances cap at 75%.

So you only take 25% of the total elemental damage. But for all intents, purposes, and balance reasons, this is the intended base damage.

Thus, if your resistances are 5% below the cap at 70%, it means you take 20% more damage from that element. 40% more if you’re 10% below, 80% more if you’re 20% below, and so on. The lower your resistances, the crazier enemy damage on you gets, and the easier it is to die.

So if you ever feel like you’re dying a lot it’s either one of three reasons – your damage is too low, your effective health pool is too low, or your resistances are uncapped. So get to capping those resistances! Use the crafting bench to net some easy resists!

Life builds are easier to play and gear towards

When it comes to the effective hp pool, there are 4 main options – pure life, hybrid, low-life, and chaos inoculation. Low-life is the trickiest to build around. The name itself is misleading since you’re relying on energy shield to survive. The only difference is that you’re using auras with blood magic on top of regular auras.

This also requires build-enabling items like “Shavronne’s Wrappings” or “Solaris Lorica”, so you instantly don’t die to chaos damage as it bypasses energy shield. Additionally, every other piece of equipment also needs energy shield to make it worthwhile.

Chaos inoculation is a keystone that sets your chaos resistance to 100% but also reduces your life to 1. So you need to stack energy shield on items to increase your survivability.

Whereas hybrid builds use a combination of life, energy shield, and mind over matter. And these builds can be really hard to gear towards, usually.

Lastly, pure life builds are very straightforward. You just look for gear items with life, take life nodes, and breeze through content. And it’s not just that – life also makes you more resistant to stuns and debuffs such as cold. This is due to how they’re calculated.

For example, if you’re hit with elemental damage, the more total health you lose, the higher the chance you get the debuff. But this calculation ignores energy shield. So if you’re CI or low-life, your life base will be lower than the damage you take, resulting in constantly being debuffed.

That’s why you either need uniques with immunity granting effects (Eye of Chayula, etc) or utility flasks that will remove them. But for life builds they aren’t as important, even though they’re still useful.

And finally, only life and hybrid builds can effectively use life flasks. CI and low-life builds are energy shield based, so you can only rely on regen and leech effects.

For intermediate, everyone is still allowed to trade at the Auction House through Buy Exalted Orb quickly and making benefits.

Igvault is so great to reach where POE Currency for all platforms are selling, because it is always cheaper than other stores, customers are still more willing to choose the products they want. https://www.igvault.com/POE-Currency is a very reliable 3rd-party trade website to Buy Exalted Orb , it is very convenient, quick and safe.

Beginner's Guide to Loot in Path of Exile

Path of Exile is far more than just another Diablo clone, but the game is, ultimately, all about looting. The game gives you nearly infinite customization options and a million possible builds to experiment with, but at the end of the day you’re going for loot every time. That’s why we’re here to talk to you about Path of Exile loot.

If you’re not interested in looting, you won’t like Path of Exile. If you’re the kind of gamer who had to buy a second house in Skyrim to store your heaps of priceless stolen junk, then you might love Path of Exile more than any game you’ve ever played. What makes Path of Exile different is the introduction of ‘currency loot,’ a feature completely unique to the game. Some players are turned off by the system, but we’ve fallen in love with Path of Exile’s innovative re-imagining of the ARPG economy.

Path of Exile’s Currency System

There is no base currency in Path of Exile. No gold, dollars, or money. You don’t kill a mob and see ‘361 gold’ drop. Instead, the currency is the drops thesmelves, which have other functions in addition to their purpose as economic bargaining chips. The lowest level of currency is the Scroll of Wisdom. You can find hundreds of these lying around very easily. The purpose it serves is to identify the rare gear you find on your journeys. Any item above the base rarity will drop as Unidentified, and you must use a Scroll of Wisdom to reveal the properties that it holds. The Scrolls of Wisdom are incredibly common, and in any late game map, you can expect to easily find at least twenty. They are worth so little that no one bothers trading them, and, after a point, most people don’t even bother picking them up.

Jumping up a few tiers in rarity, we get to the Orb of Transmutation. Once again, this is another drop that you can find anywhere in the game. When you find an item that has no stats on it, you can use an Orb of Transmutation on it. This bumps it from Normal up to Magic, and adds a property to it. This is extremely helpful if you find the item you need, but it doesn’t have any stats on it. You just throw an Orb of Transmutation on it, and now it has stats! As you get further through the game you can find Regal Orbs, which take that Magical item you made and bump it up even higher to become Rare. This adds yet another stat to the item.

As you can see, all of the currency items are not truly currency. Drops in Path of Exile are items that have and serve purposes within the game, typically modifying items. The players themselves have assigned value to these items, and use them to buy and trade other gear. The Chaos Orb is the widely agreed upon ‘standard currency,’ due to their relatively stable rarity value. You can collect Chaos Orbs, but it takes a while to gather a sizable stockpile, making them the perfect currency item.

Unique Items and Boss Loot

I mentioned different item rarities, including the fact that gear can come in Normal, Magic, or Rare forms. However, there’s one more rarity tier above ‘Rare’. Unique items are strewn throughout the game. While Magic and Rare are simply modifiers of a normal item, Unique are separate items entirely. They cannot be modified, and they have set stats. While their actual value fluctuates, they will always have the same abilities. For example, an Astramentis can have anywhere between a 90 and 116 boost to each of your stats, but it will will always have this effect. The only variable is the range of the boost.

These inherent properties make some Unique items incredibly powerful, and, of course, incredibly expensive. How do you get your hands on Unique items? This is where Path of Exile gives players a great opportunity. Most loot-based games feature specific bosses that drop specific items. Path of Exile does do that with some of the end game bosses, but for the most part, items can simply be found anywhere in the world–the more rare the item, the less likely you are to randomly encounter it. With a few exceptions, if I want a specific Unique item, my best bet is to simply buy it from another player. Most Unique items in Path of Exile don’t have a proper way to farm them, which means you’re left with no choice but to purchase them. With several hundred Uniques in the game, the odds of finding the exact one you want are relatively low.

The exception here is Divination Cards. Divination Cards are another drop that, after stacking up a pile (which varies in number depending on the card), you can turn them in for a specific reward. These divination cards are zone specific, and sometimes boss specific. In other words, you can farm them if you want to get a certain item. There’s quite a bit of randomness built into the cards though. They do give a specific reward, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you’re guaranteed to get a specific item. For example, I can turn in a set of Jack in the Box, and it gives me one random Unique item. That’s the most broad example, but many of the rewards ‘give a Unique Axe,’ or something similar. Divination Cards give you a much higher change chance of getting the item you want, but you’ll still have to get lucky.

Is Looting in Path of Exile Fun?

I know I’ve thrown a lot of information out there, and it’s true that Path of Exile is very complex. But I have to say, the game’s loot system can be quite enjoyable. The possibility of getting an incredible drop is always there. In other games, you’re probably going to get a certain amount of currency per map clear. In Path of Exile, you can estimate your haul, but you can never be certain, and there’s always the chance that you’re about to find an incredibly valuable Unique item.

Let’s talk about Chaos Orbs a bit more. These items play a central role in Path of Exile’s digital economy. Most of the maps I currently run give a reward of about five Chaos Orbs. In other words, the total value of the items I pick up on a run, as well as the Chaos Orbs themselves, is usually equivalent to about five Chaos Orbs.

But every once in a while I find an Exalted Orb. Exalted Orbs are one of the rarest items in the game, worth around 100 Chaos Orbs right now. Remember, the drops are all luck-based, and getting an Exalted Orb is rare enough that it’s easy to find reports of players logging over 300 hours of gameplay without finding a single one. At the same time, it doesn’t feel unfair or frustrating. Every player has the same likelihood of finding an Exalted Orb, and for all you know, there might be one waiting for you in the next map. Every fight could be one that drops the loot you’ve been looking for you.

Unique items work in a similar fashion. In Path of Exile, you don’t farm looking for Uniques or Exalted Orbs. You farm a map that has consistent returns of either money or experience. When one of these really good items drop, it’s a pleasant surprise. You weren’t expecting or banking on it, and you’ve suddenly got quite a bit richer. This ‘treasure hunting’ mentality is what keeps me coming back to Path of Exile. I’m always hoping I’ll find the next Exalted Orb or snag a Unique drop.

Path of Exile’s loot system is overwhelming, especially for new players, but once you’ve got your feet wet, it’s hard not to feel a small rush every time a good item drops.

That’s all you need to know about How to Loot in Path of Exile for Beginners!.
