For the premise of this thought process we are going

Jacksonville Jaguars are signing Nick Foles in free agency to a five-year contract. We’re assuming that..."For the premise of this thought process we are going to operate under the assumption that the Jacksonville Jaguars are signing Nick Foles in free agency to a five-year contract. We’re assuming that for the foreseeable future the Jaguars plan at quarterback is Nick Foles and they’re not going to spend any draft capital in 2019 on the quarterback position. With that being said http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-myles-jack-jersey , how will the Foles signing impact the Jaguars plans in the 2019 NFL Draft? You have to commit to FolesThe first point is going to be that if you’re going to sign Foles, you will need to give him the best chance to be successful on the offensive side of the ball. The Jaguars offense as it stands right now is a big step down from what Foles was working with on the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles are better than the Jaguars are virtually every position across the board, especially skill positions. This has led a lot to think the Jaguars should spend the No. 7 overall pick on a wide receiver, but to be frank, there are not any Top 15 type wide receivers in this draft. That includes work out warrior D.K. Metcalf. The Jaguars can do the next best thing however and pick up a potential elite level tight end. I’ll honest and admit that spending the No. 7 overall pick on a tight end is awful value, but if quarterback is out of the equation and the Jaguars need to spend draft capital to help Foles, the best course of action is going to be a high end tight end or an offensive lineman, and we all know how I feel about drafting guards and right tackles in the Top 10.A rookie tight end for the Jaguars is going to be the best possible scenario to get a big impact from a rookie on the offensive side of the ball. The Jaguars recently declined the option on Austin Seferian-Jenkins and the rest of their tight end room are just a bunch of guys. Snapping up someone like T.J. Hockenson or Noah Fant with the seventh overall pick would give the Jaguars not only an instant starter, but a tight end who can play in a multitude of formations. While Hockenson is the better blocker and Fant is the better receiver, both come from a college team that runs a lot of pro-sets and NFL concepts. Both have a ton of snaps playing in-line, split wide and even as a type of H-back out of the backfield. They should slide right in with little hiccup. John DeFilippo makes use of tight endsJaguars new offensive coordinator John DeFilippo has had a lot of production from the tight end position everywhere he’s had a hand in calling plays. His one season with the Cleveland Browns in 2015 saw Gary Barnidge haul in 79 receptions for over 1,000 yards and nine touchdowns. He never came anywhere close to that any other season.Zach Ertz had already broken out by the time DeFilippo was hired as the quarterbacks coach for the Eagles Womens Yannick Ngakoue Jersey , but with DeFilippo taking on designing plays for the redzone, Ertz did see his touchdown production increase. In his two years with DeFilippo Ertz caught 12 redzone touchdowns. When DeFilippo moved to the Minnesota Vikings he already had a ready-made tight end in Kyle Rudolph and he continued his production, including three touchdowns in the redzone.I think the Jaguars can get by with the receivers they have on the roster and they’re going to want to give 2018 second-round pick DJ Chark as many snaps as he can prove himself, so a rookie receiver isn’t likely to get a ton of playing time. The tight end position however, is a nightmare and adding one of the Iowa tight ends gives you an instant starter and a high chance for an instant impact.Rounds 2 and 3 are also likely to be offensive playersTo continue giving Foles the best chance, the Jaguars need to come back in rounds two and three and pick up an offensive lineman and at least one running back. You can argue that you can find a tight end in these rounds as well, but the drop off from Hockenson, Fant and Alabama’s Irv Smith is pretty big and it’s possible all three will be gone by your second round pick. On the flip side, rounds two and three in this draft should be prime spots to pick up an offensive lineman who can start on the right side at guard or tackle and the third round is where you can pluck from the glut of mid-round running backs. We saw last season the Jaguars get hammered by going light at the running back position and flailing to solve it mid-season. I’d expect the team to pick at least one in the mid-rounds this draft as not only an insurance policy, but real depth. There’s an argument to pick an offensive lineman in the first round and get a tight end in these rounds, but as I mentioned if I’m looking for a big impact early I’m going with my starting tight end over a right guard/tackle. I know all about Lane Johnson and Quinton Nelson, but I just can’t bring myself to argue for taking a right sided offensive lineman in the Top 10 of a draft.I have a hard time seeing a quarterbackI know some of you are probably screaming “PICK A QUARTERBACK TOO!” if someone like Dwayne Haskins falls to the seventh overall pick DJ Chark Jersey , or someone like Will Grier or Tyree Jackson in the third round, but I just have a hard time seeing it. I’m fully prepared to sign Foles in free agency and watch the Jaguars make a selection, passing on Haskins if he’s on the board, with the seventh overall pick.As I said, if you’re signing Nick Foles in free agency as a “win now” type of move, you have got to equip him with the pieces to actually win now. Drafting a backup quarterback with the seventh overall pick or even a developmental one in the first four rounds isn’t how you do that. You can get actual contributors in those rounds who will contribute more than that quarterback will, which is hopefully none at all.Picking a quarterback after the fourth round as well is more often than not throwing a pick away, so look for your special teamers and developmental lineman/skill position players there.Defensive player is temptingThis draft is loaded with defensive lineman and there will be a glut of them available at No. 7 overall and it will be tempting to draft one. Adding another pass rusher is always helpful for an offense because it helps them get the ball back faster. I could totally see if certain lineman fall to the seventh overall pick the Jaguars snapping them up, but I still believe the best course of action is to try to give Foles weapons to work with more so than adding more to the defense.Trading down is hardWhile there are some who will scream to pick a quarterback too, there’s going to be just as many going on and on about trading down. The chances that happen however are extremely thin. To put it simply, historically David Caldwell has avoided potential trade downs and outright declined some to get his guy. Their trend is to fall in love with a player and pick them with their pick in lieu of trading down.To pair with that, it’s highly unlikely there will be a player teams will be willing to trade up to No. 7 overall for. The two teams picking right after the Jaguars aren’t going to pick a quarterback http://www.thejaguarslockerroom.com/authentic-a.-j.-cann-jersey , so even if Haskins or Kyler Murray fall to No. 7 overall, there is no pressure for a team to trade up for them. They can wait a pick or two and give up less capital to do so. Outside of quarterback, the depth of the defensive line class likely means teams won’t be moving up for any of those players, either. Long story short; If you’re signing Nick Foles in free agency, you’re going to have to spend draft capital to help him out. Pick one of the impact tight ends early to be your starter, then fill out the offensive line and running back position. There have been some surprising developments in the opening hours of the NFL’s pre-free agency legal tampering window, but some expected moves are also going down. One that everyone saw coming was quarterback Nick Foles joining the Jaguars and it is coming to pass. Word was that the two sides could have a deal done on Monday and Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that they have come to an agreement. It is reportedly going to be a four-year deal with a base value of $88 million when things can become official on Wednesday afternoon. The deal can reportedly be worth as much as $102 million with Adam Schefter of ESPN reporting that there is $50.125 million in guaranteed money. The move reunites Foles with John DeFilippo, who was the Eagles’ quarterbacks coach when Foles was Super Bowl LII MVP and is heading into his first year as the offensive coordinator in Jacksonville. That link and the scant number of open starting quarterback jobs around the league made it easy to predict that Foles would wind up in Jacksonville.

Jeff and EJ make some final predictions as we settle

We made it.The 2019 NFL Draft starts tonight and while the Chicago Bears will almost certainly not make a pick on day 1 this year (just remember http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-kyle-fuller-jersey , Khalil Mack wears navy and orange now), there is still plenty to talk about. Jeff and EJ make some final predictions about what will happen with the Bears picks including where the Bears are most likely to draft a running back, whether or not a kicker will be taken in round 7, and if Ryan Pace will use some of next year’s picks to add more talent to the 2019 roster. All that and more in the final pod before the draft. Be sure to check back over the weekend for Windy City Gridiron’s rapid reactions to the draft. After you listen to the pod, hit up the comments below to make your final predictions on what will happen in the draft. Be sure to follow us on Twitter @bearsoverbeers, @thedraftsmanfb, and @gridironborn. Spoiler: DQ loves him some LSU players."With the draft looming, it’s the right time to look back and see if this Falcons team and front office have certain preferences in drafting with Dan Quinn at the helm. Today, I thought we’d look at the schools Falcons draft picks have originated from.As you’d expect Womens Bryce Callahan Jersey , Quinn and company show a marked preference for one school in particular, one significant enough that it can’t be chalked up to mere coincidence four years in. He shows a weaker preference for a handful of other schools, but beyond that it gets dicey trying to break this thing down by college, to say nothing of conference. Let’s dive in. Players drafted by school4 LSU2 UCLASan Jose StateClemson1AlabamaColoradoSouth FloridaSouthern MissYaleOregon StateSan Diego StateWyoming DrakeFloridaStanfordMinnesotaIndianaEast CarolinaEastern Washington As you’ll note, the Falcons have a strong preference for LSU players under Dan Quinn, with far and away the most selections coming from that school. DQ has presided over a draft with an LSU player joining the team for each of the last four seasons and has snagged one star in Deion Jones, one promising young receiver and special teams gunner in Russell Gage, one young but struggling linebacker in Duke Riley, and one bust-by-virtue-of-suspension in Jalen Collins. Next up are UCLA (Takkarist McKinley and his 13 sacks and still major upside Josh Bellamy Jersey , plus Devin Fuller, who was felled by injury), San Jose State (off-and-on starting guard Wes Schweitzer and Akeem King, who flamed out in Atlanta but found a home in Seattle), and Clemson (Vic Beasley and his 29.5 sacks and uncertain future and certified star Grady Jarrett). Otherwise, the Falcons have not selected more than one player from a school in the four seasons in which Quinn has been in Atlanta. What does this mean for 2019?It would be legitimately surprising if the Falcons didn’t draft someone from LSU. Linebacker Devin White is a consensus top 20 pick from the school, but that would arguably be a luxury/future-looking pick for a team with Deion Jones, De’Vondre Campbell, Foye Oluokun and plenty of depth. Cornerback Greedy Williams is a likely first rounder http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-anthony-miller-jersey , as well, but doesn’t figure to be seriously in play for Atlanta unless he falls back into the second round. That leaves us looking at late rounders with LSU ties. Foster Moreau is a block-first tight end who could serve as a long-term replacement for Luke Stocker and Logan Paulsen, space-eating, strong defensive tackle Ed Alexander could be a fit for the team’s fourth DT gig, and Nick Brossette could be a seventh round pickup for the Falcons as a physical back with quality blocking skills and hands. I wouldn’t rule out any of them, given DQ’s strong predilection for LSU players.Clemson is a strong contender to improve their standings here, as well. Clelin Ferrell, Dexter Lawrence and Christian Wilkins are all first round fits for a defensive line in need of talent, and Trayvon Mullen could be a third round find for this football team as a corner with size and legitimate coverage skills. Later on Womens Sherrick McManis Jersey , pass rusher Austin Bryant and tackle Mitch Hyatt are contenders if the Falcons whiff on those positions early on.UCLA and San Jose State don’t have a lot of draft-eligible players who figure to be on the team’s radar this year, so we won’t spend time breaking those down. The big picture takeaway, of course, is that the Falcons haven’t limited themselves to certain schools or conferences in making their selections, which has largely been to their benefit under Dan Quinn. Just don’t be surprised if they wind up with yet another LSU and/or Clemson player by the time the draft wraps up later this month.

Philadelphia Eagles’ 26-23 loss to the Tennessee Titans in Week 4 of the 2018 NFL season.OFFENSEBrandon Brooks had to come out for a play after suffering some kind of lower body injury. As is the case with Jason Kelce Womens Nelson Agholor Jersey , he was clearly playing at less than 100%.Nelson Agholor basically played the whole game and only had five receptions for 22 yards. He dropped four passes in total, two of which would’ve gone for first down conversions. He also fumbled. It was a bad day for the Eagles’ 2015 first-round pick. It was also a bad time to have a bad day.The Eagles eased Alshon Jeffery, who has been dealing with an illness, back into the lineup a little bit. Jeffery was a super efficient target for Carson Wentz. Jeffery caught eight of his nine targets for 105 yards (13.1 average) and one touchdown. Great to have him back moving forward.Jordan Matthews played a good deal as the number three receiver but he was only targeted three times. His sole reception was a 56-yard touchdown where Malcolm Butler forgot to cover him. JMatt dropped a wide open pass later in the game right before the play where Wentz got strip-sacked. Despite dealing with a fractured back, Jay Ajayi saw the most snaps of any Eagles running back. He had 15 carries for 70 yards as a runner and three receptions for 11 yards as a receiver. Tough dude.Wendell Smallwood contributed with five carries for 39 yards on the ground. He had three receptions for 15 yards. With Jeffery back, Dallas Goedert’s playing time dropped from 67% last week to 40% this week. The rookie tight end was targeted two times and had two receptions for 13 yards. He also drew a pass interference penalty at one point. It’s good to see Kamar Aiken and Joshua Perkins getting a lot less playing time.Shelton Gibson tripled his offensive playing time from last week. Josh Adams got in for a snap early in the game but didn’t play at all after that. The Eagles play-faked a handoff to him.DEFENSEWith Rodney McLeod out, 33-year-old Corey Graham was forced to play 100% of the defensive snaps. Including the one where he allowed Taywan Taylor to be uncovered for an easy 4th-and-15 conversion with the game on the line.Derek Barnett saw the most snaps of any defensive end. Brandon Graham played the second most this week after getting outsnapped by Chris Long and Michael Bennett last week. Maybe Bennett should’ve seen more time considering how good he was looking early on.McLeod’s absence forced the Eagles to play rookie corner Avonte Maddox back at safety. Maddox told reporters he’s never played safety in a game prior to Sunday. Not ideal.SPECIAL TEAMSDeiondre’ Hall didn’t receive any defensive reps despite the fact the Eagles are now without McLeod. The Eagles had Maddox Zach Ertz Jersey , who has never played safety before, getting playing time ahead of him. Also no defensive snaps for Rasul Douglas despite the fact the corners on the Eagles’ depth chart ahead of him have struggled. DeAndre Carter made the most of his limited playing time by taking one of his two punt returns for 42 yards. That play gave the Eagles a chance to tie the game and go into overtime. It’s worth keeping Carter active as a punt returner until Darren Sproles is back, at least.DID NOT PLAYINACTIVE: Corey Clement, Darren Sproles, Josh Sweat, Nate Sudfeld, Matt Pryor http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-fletcher-cox-jersey , Jordan Mailata, Chance WarmackACTIVE: Nick FolesEagles’ Doug Pederson talks Carson Wentz’s return, wide receiver position The Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson talked to the media on Monday following the team’s first loss of the year on Sunday. There was a lot to get into with several injuries early on against Tampa Bay, not to mention concerns about the secondary, but to get started, Pederson announced — what we’ve all been waiting months to hear — Carson Wentz will be the team’s Week 3 starting quarterback. (HE’S BAAAAACK.)Here’s what the head coach had to say about getting Wentz ready to go, and the team’s plans to add some depth at wide receiver:On Carson Wentz’s returnThe head coach has been waiting for weeks to have Carson Wentz medically cleared for contact and full participation and Pederson showed up to his presser with a big smile on his face. The news finally came down from the team’s medical staff that the QB is good to go — and the Eagles are not wasting any time getting him back on the field.“He’s cleared Womens Jake Elliott Jersey , he goes,” Pederson quipped, and said that’s how they’ve always planned for Wentz to get back on the field. They weren’t going to hold him back for a week or two to get him acclimated to getting back in the swing of things. Pederson said they drafted Wentz to be “that guy” and he’ll be back in the starting spot Sunday.Pederson said Wentz is ready to take the reigns again. The head coach acknowledged it’ll take some time to get back into a rhythm and get back into the speed of the game, and expects a couple mistakes along the way, but he says the quarterback will be ready mentally. He said they’ll still have conversations with him about how to protect himself and things like that, but they aren’t going to limit him in terms of play calling.Ultimately he said he’s not going to coach scared or paranoid, he’s going to coach to win and that’s just what he has to do.Both Wentz and Pederson are excited that the quarterback will be back on the field Derek Barnett Jersey , but the head coach noted they have to remember it’s not about one guy. With several areas they need to improve — especially given Sunday’s loss — they need to stay focused on the larger picture of the whole group.Pederson said that it was challenging for Wentz to sit on the sideline, but the head coach talked to him honestly about how the team was looking out for his best interest and the interest of his long term career. Doug was very candid, telling the QB that whether he was the head coach here or not, he wanted the best possible future for Wentz — and that meant taking his return slowly. On Colts prepThere is no specific plan to bring in another wide receiver or two to add some depth, but Pederson did say a veteran would be easier to get brought up to speed over a rookie. Although, in the meantime they were going to have to rely on their tight ends more and the run game to make up for so many of the team’s veteran receivers not playing. He said they are working through it now, and they’ll see how things are starting to flesh out on Wednesday in practice. He said that recent practice squad addition Braxton Miller has made an impressive http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-ronald-darby-jersey , but he’s another guy who will need coached up a bit, simply because he hasn’t had much exposure to the Eagles offense at this point.Pederson echoed Zach Ertz’s sentiment that Wentz isn’t Superman, and the team and fans alike can’t think the QB is going to come back in and everything is going to be great. It’s a team sport and there are still things that need fixed that Wentz won’t be the answer to.On injuries and return timelinesAlshon Jeffery is still week-to-week and Pederson won’t put a timetable on his return — just like he wouldn’t with Wentz.Mike Wallace suffered a fibular fracture during the game on Sunday and will miss several games — at the least. They aren’t putting him on IR just yet, but they are still evaluating things over the next couple of days.Jason Peters tweaked his quad against Tampa Bay.

Hackett on Monday morning and whoever calls the plays now probably won’t have left guard Andrew Norwell helping to execute them for a while.Norwell was carted to the locker room after hurting his ankle in Sunday’s loss to the Bills and the team almost immediately annnounced he was doubtful to return to action. He never did and a report on Monday indicates it will be a while before he’s back in action.Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Norwell is set to miss “a few weeks” with what has been diagnosed as a sprained ankle. Schefter adds that he’ll be having an MRI to determine the full extent of the injury. If the MRI is worse than thought Cedric Ogbuehi Jerseys Stitched , Norwell’s season will likely be over. Even if it isn’t, there may not be much point in bringing him back for the final weeks of a losing season given the five-year commitment the Jaguars made to Norwell in free agency. LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) — Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Calais Campbell watched the NFL’s conference championship games on his phone while flying home from South Africa last weekend. The stream cut in and out occasionally, causing Campbell to think for a brief moment that he missed something when no flag was thrown on Los Angeles Rams cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman late in the NFC title game. Turns out, Campbell saw it perfectly clear and was stunned officials chose not to penalize Robey-Coleman for flattening Saints receiver Tommylee Lewis before the ball arrived.“Very, very surprised,” Campbell said. The now-infamous no-call has been the talk of Pro Bowl week, with several players calling for better officiating and more accountability for those in black and white. Others suggest expanding the use of video replay.“You just make a better call,” Philadelphia Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins said. “I know there’s been talk about replay. But you really didn’t need replay to make that call. It was just a missed call. It was that simple. That happens. You have human error, but it’s unfortunate when that changes everything that you’ve worked for as a team and how hard it’s been to get back to that spot. That’s tough.”No one at the league’s annual all-star game went as far as retiring New Orleans Saints tight end Benjamin Watson did, though. Watson ripped NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on Thursday for his public silence following the blown call.Watson posted a letter to Goodell on Twitter, saying “we all realize that football is an imperfect game Youth Landry Jones Jerseys , played, coached and officiated by imperfect people. What occurred last Sunday in New Orleans, though, was outside of that expected and accepted norm.”“Your continued silence on this matter is unbecoming of the position you hold, detrimental to the integrity of the game and disrespectful and dismissive to football fans everywhere,” Watson continued. “From the locker room to Park Ave., accountability is what makes our league great. Lead by example. We are waiting.”Officials could have — and by most accounts should have — flagged Robey-Coleman for pass interference and helmet-to-helmet contact during the play. Drew Brees‘ pass fell incomplete inside the Rams 10-yard line with 1:45 left in a tie game. The Saints settled for a field goal. The Rams tied the game on Greg Zuerlein’s 48-yarder in regulation and won it in overtime with his 57-yarder.“How many times have you played a football game and seen the call that should have been called but didn’t, or a call that got called and it shouldn’t have been called?” Campbell said. “It happens all the time in this game. It’s just part of football. You get upset for a second, but then you go keep playing ball. The Saints did have a chance. They had the ball in overtime, had a chance to go out there and win it. This game, it’s tough.”But the overwhelming sentiment at the Pro Bowl was something needs to be done to prevent errors as egregious as the one in the NFC title game.“The tough thing is we have things that are reviewable, things that aren’t reviewable Landry Jones Jerseys Stitched ,” Buffalo Bills defensive lineman Kyle Williams said. “You can’t review it inside of two minutes. I don’t know why we put limitations on things, but at the same time, games have missed calls one way or another. But you hated to see something that appeared to be that way finish a game like that, finish a season. For us as a league, it’s hard to limit when you can and when you can’t review those things and do all that.”Added Dallas Cowboys linebacker Leighton Vander Esch: “If dudes are missing calls on the field, they’ve got to make them up in the box.”Several others echoed Vander Esch’s argument, which essentially was: What’s the point of having extra officials upstairs and more watching at the league office in New York if no one can step in and correct an obvious mistake?“Honestly, full speed, I was like, ‘He kind of got there early, but it was bang-bang,'” New York Giants safety/special teams ace Mike Thomas said. “You slow it down Dontavius Russell Jacksonville Jaguars Jerseys , clearly he got there early. I was like, ‘Ohhh.’ It looked way worse when you slowed it down.“We’ve been calling for — players, coaches, fans — for replays for pass interference calls anyway. There’s a bunch of times they throw it on DBs and we feel like we’re in great position. I think you just make all those major calls like that reviewable and just got from there.”Not everyone was so eager to broaden use of replay.Campbell, for one, urged fans and colleagues to slow down. He believes more replay would only muck up the tempo of games and make them longer.“You cannot open up a can of worms,” said Campbell, an 11-year veteran and a team player rep. “But what you can do is you can try to prepare the referees better because they can’t miss that call. In those clutch situations, in that moment, he has to make that call. And whatever the consequences are for him missing the call, maybe make those public so we all know and everybody feels better. Make them be held accountable and they will have the motivation to call it the right way.”

The running backs and offensive linemen were the focal point of today’s workouts, with a handful of special teams players partaking in drills, as well. Considering their uncertainty at the running back position, the Chicago Bears had a lot to pay attention to in Indianapolis. So few special teamers are invited to the combine, and the drills they partake in don’t apply to skills that are truly useful for their respective positions. However, the Bears met with all three kickers—Matt Gay, Austin Seibert and Cole Tracy—and Utah punter Mitch Wishnowsky ran a 4.63 40-yard dash, even though the time doesn’t matter too much. With Cody Parkey set to be released and Pat O’Donnell on track to enter free agency, Chicago could end up adding one of those prospects, whether it be as a draft pick or an underaged free agent.I had the fortunate opportunity to drive down to Indianapolis and attend drills again this year, and I managed to catch a lot of Friday’s action. These are my takeaways from the workouts at running back and offensive line.Offensive lineI missed the first group of offensive linemen, as I was standing in line to enter Lucas Oil Stadium while the workouts were taking place. That said, I don’t have much commentary to add for that group, but two players in particular put together great athletic profiles: Washington State’s Andre Dillard and North Carolina State’s Garrett Bradbury. Both Day 2 prospects on my board heading into today, I expected them to have solid outings, but they surpassed my expectations. The six-foot-five White Tom Waddle Jerseys , 315-pound Dillard ran an impressive 4.96 40-yard dash with a 1.69 10-yard split and a 4.4 20-yard shuttle. He was an athletic pass protector on the blind side for quarterback Gardner Minshew this year, and his athleticism was apparent in drills. Some see him as a first-round pick, and though I don’t agree with that from what I’ve currently seen, I still have some more of his tape I’d like to dig into. As for Bradbury, he entered the weekend as one of my favorite offensive line prospects, and that certainly didn’t change today. He tested incredibly well, complementing 34 reps on the bench press with a 4.94 40-yard dash with a 1.7 10-yard split. He reminds me a bit of James Daniels coming out last year, in that he’s an athletic and intelligent interior lineman who’s a bit on the smaller side—Bradbury is just under six-foot-three and weighs 306 pounds. With some added anchor strength, he can be a top-tier offensive lineman for years to come.Chicago might target a lineman late in the draft, but few of the Day 3 prospects truly stood out. The only player who fits under that billing who consistently impressed me is Northern Illinois’ Max Scharping. He looked quick and nimble in drills, showcasing good lateral agility and the ability to pull with quick feet and tight angles. Trey Pipkins from Sioux Falls also looked quick to me, which was encouraging, considering his small-school status. I haven’t been able to find tape of his, but I’m looking forward to watching him when something becomes available. Either of them project as swing tackles whom the Bears would be wise to target late on Day 3.My two favorite linemen in the second group were Alabama’s Jonah Williams and Kansas State’s Dalton Risner. Risner’s technique was textbook all day, as he looked refined in his balance, frame and movement. His feet were quick, his movements weren’t too long, and he showed off a powerful punch upon contact. Much debate will be had about whether Williams can play tackle at the next level or not—I think he definitely can, for what it’s worth—but he still has the potential to be a Pro Bowl lineman. His game relies more on intelligence, technique and athleticism than it does on nastiness, so the combine benefits someone with his skill set. He took advantage of that Tom Waddle Jerseys 2019 , showing off solid lateral movement, sharp angles when turning the corner and good speed, running a 5.12 40-yard dash. Both of those players will more than likely end up drafted in the first round.Ole Miss’ Greg Little started the season as a legit first-round pick on my board, but his stock has dropped a little bit since then. His stock will continue to decline after his combine outing, as he performed poorly in positional drills and ran disappointing 40-yard dashes and 20-yard shuttle times. His movements in lateral agility drills looked unnatural and long, and his form and balance looked poor when engaging with defenders. In a class where players like Dillard, Jawaan Taylor and Cody Ford have seen their stock rise since the end of the season, Little’s poor outing at the combine surely won’t help his case as teams look for other tackles to draft.Running backsThis year’s draft class is stacked with mid-round running back talent, which bodes incredibly well for the Bears. While some potential targets had disappointing outings, othersdid a great job of boosting their stock.Florida Atlantic running back Devin Singletary entered the day as one of the best runners in the class, but he put together disappointing measurements and numbers in drills. He measured in at five-foot-seven, shorter than his presumed five-foot-nine. His height certainly wasn’t boosted by his times in drills, as he ran a 4.66 40-yard dash at 203 pounds and put together surprisingly disappointing times in agility drills. Considering his elusiveness on tape, the fact that he failed to even post average times in the 20-yard shuttle and three-cone drills is underwhelming. He did look sharp in positional drills, though, so he will have to hope that those prevent his draft stock from dropping too much.Though he couldn’t participate in positional drills due to injury, Oklahoma State’s Justice Hilltested very well in the drills he did. He ran the fastest 40-yard dash time of the running back class with a 4.40, complementing that with a speedy 1.52 10-yard split and a 2.55 20-yard split. He also had a 40-inch vertical and a 10’10” broad jump, both fantastic marks for their respective drills. It would have been interesting to see him partake in positional drills, but he could potentially be a target for the Bears in the third or fourth round. One of the best performances of the day came from Penn State’s Miles Sanders. Saquon Barkley’s former backup ran very well and put together great outings in positional drills. He ran a 4.49 at 211 pounds, ran a great 6.89 three-cone drill and tested above average in the 20-yard shuttle White William Perry Jerseys , vertical jump, broad jump and bench press. He showed the ability to sink his hips and make precise cuts in drills, and his hands and route running were both reliable. With his compact frame and his blend of athleticism and power, he could be in play as early as Round 3 for Chicago.Several late-round runners put together great performances, too. Temple’s Ryquell Armstead ran a 4.45 40-yard dash at 220 pounds, he moved well in positional drills, and his hands looked reliable when he ran routes. Kansas State’s Alex Barnes added onto his incredible 34 bench press reps from Thursday with a 6.95 three-cone drill and a 4.1 20-yard shuttle at 226 pounds, which will do nothing but help his stock. Mike Weber from Ohio State ran a 4.47 40-yard dash, and he looked explosive in positional drills and showed off great lateral agility and good hip-sinking ability. Washington State’s James Williams only ran a 4.58 40-yard dash at 197 pounds, but he looked great in receiving drills and showed off the natural hands that are apparent on tape.Regardless of what the Bears do at the running back position, they will have more than enough options to choose from who could step in and contribute to their offense. LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) — The Chicago Bears head into their final regular-season game with a shot at an opening-round bye and some extra rest for their first playoff appearance in eight years.Consider those sweet incentives for the NFC North champions.A victory at Minnesota combined with a loss by the Los Angeles Rams to the San Francisco 49ers would give the Bears the second seed in the conference and a bye.“You have to be realistic in some of this,” Coach Matt Nagy said Monday.Chicago and Los Angeles kick off at the same time. And if it becomes clear the Bears have little shot at catching the Rams, Nagy figures to ease up and start pulling his best players. But for now, he’s all-in.“We’re doing everything we possibly can to win,” Nagy said. “And then I think it’s one of those deals where as you go, you gotta just kind of get a feel for your own game. And you gotta get a feel of what’s going on in that game because … that other game does matter with the Rams.”It’s been a long time since games this late in the season mattered for the Bears (11-4).They had a chance to make the playoffs in 2013 — their first year under Marc Trestman — only to miss out at 8-8 after faltering down the stretch. They got shredded at Philadelphia 54-11 in Week 16 and closed with a loss to Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers in a finale for the division championship at Soldier Field. The Bears fired Trestman after finishing last in the NFC North at 5-11 the following year. They went 14-34 the next three seasons under John Fox and never escaped the bottom of the division. But a major overhaul in the offseason that included the hiring of Nagy and trade for Khalil Mack spurred a worst-to-first leap. They’re headed to the playoffs for the first time since the 2010 team won the division on the way to the NFC title game.“Even though we have the playoffs locked up already, we want to finish strong and that’s our mindset,” quarterback Mitchell Trubisky said. “Inside the locker room, just continue to take every game and every opportunity to go out there and play together and take care of business.”The Bears are the No. 3 seed in the NFC, a game behind the Rams. But they hold the head-to-head tiebreaker after shutting down Jared Goff and Los Angeles’ high-powered offense in a 15-6 victory at Soldier Field on Dec. 9.If they don’t get the second seed William Perry Jerseys 2019 , they could wind up playing Minnesota in back-to-back weeks. The Vikings are sixth in the NFC and fighting to hang onto a playoff spot. But Nagy insisted the possibility of facing them the following week won’t impact his approach. That’s because the Bears have something at stake.“It’d be different if you couldn’t move at all,” Nagy said. “But the fact that you’re going here to win this game and do everything you can based on where we’re at now as we stand in this situation, you have to go about it that way. There’ll be some things maybe here or there that we’ll take a look at. But we’re just trying to keep this as normal as we possibly can, knowing that we’re going to (try to) win.”The Bears are rolling with eight wins in nine games, surviving a fight and a late fumble to beat San Francisco 14-9 on Sunday.Danny Trevathan made a key interception. A dominant defense kept the 49ers out of the end zone, and Nagy became the Bears’ first rookie coach to win 11 games.“We’re growing, we’re still growing and we’re also peaking,” Trevathan said.Notes: Nagy said he talked on the flight home with receivers Anthony Miller and Josh Bellamy, who were ejected for fighting after a sliding Trubisky was hit late by San Francisco’s Marcell Harris. “I’m not condoning what they did,” he said. But he acknowledged the play bothered the Bears, particularly since Trubisky missed two games with a shoulder injury after Minnesota’s Harrison Smith hit him as the quarterback was sliding. “It’s a violent game,” Nagy said. “And when you see your boy, teammate, friend or family member getting hit like that, especially weeks ago when something similar happened like that (happened), it’s natural,” Nagy said. “I don’t care what anybody says, it’s natural to protect your guy, and that’s what they did.” … Nagy is “cautiously optimistic” G Kyle Long (right foot) returns this week. The three-time Pro Bowl lineman suffered a tendon injury in Chicago’s win over the New York Jets on Oct. 28. … Nagy said the Bears will monitor WR Allen Robinson, who hurt his ribs making a diving 43-yard catch in the first quarter Sunday but returned to the game.

To think that http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-trevor-williams-jersey , just over a week from right now, we can all wrap our minds..."We are officially just ONE WEEK away from day one of the 2019 NFL Draft and you bet you’re sweet peeps that I am STOKED.To think that, just over a week from right now, we can all wrap our minds and hearts around a new class of Chargers rookies.New names to write about. New names to rock on our backs as we cheer this team to victory on future Sundays to come.It doesn’t get much better. But we have six more rounds to go in this lead-up series to the big weekend so let’s get to it. Here are four more names that I believe should be legitimate considerations by the team when they get to day three of the draft.WR/Utility Jalen Hurd - BaylorFor those of you unaware of Hurd’s incredibly interesting story, here is a short synopsis:Hurd was a former running back for the Tennessee Volunteers from 2014-2016 where he was an absolute bruiser standing 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds. After a standout 2015 season where he rushed for 1,285 and 12 touchdowns, he hoped to do more of the same in 2016 even though he shared the backfield with current NFL backs Alvin Kamara and John Kelly. After rushing for at least 90 yards in three of the teams first four games, Hurd took a nasty hit by a Georgia defender in the fifth game of the season. He went on to put up just 44 yards over the next two games combined against Alabama and South Carolina. Following the SC game, head coach Butch Jones announced that Hurd would be transferring. In April of 2017, Hurd made it public that he planned to transfer to Baylor where he would also undergo a position change from running back to wide receiver in order to elongate his career by reducing the amount of hits he will take from not being a primary ball-carrier.Hurd transformed his body while not playing in the 2017 season. Prior to his 2018 season, Hurd weighed around 225 pounds, roughly 15 short of his RB weight. In his lone season with the Bears, he was their most versatile offensive weapon, lining up primarily in the slot while still garnering some backfield reps in and around the red zone.He finished his first campaign as a wideout with 69 catches for 946 yards and four touchdowns. He also punched in three scores on the ground while carrying the rock 48 times for 209 yards. In just a single year, it was apparent how hard Hurd had worked on his new craft to be able to find the success he did as he was named the Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year. With one mismatch weapon having just left for the bay area Womens Desmond King Jersey , maybe the Chargers will kick the tires on a guy who could really open up a few more doors in this offense.DT Dontavius Russell - AuburnRussell is a guy that was a much more popular name in the early goings of 2018 but has since been overshadowed by the plethora of stud defenders in this year’s draft. Which means, someone may be getting a dang good football player on day three. The former Tiger has good size for the position, coming in at 6-foot-3 and 319 pounds. His trait that pops the most on the film is his first step quickness, making him a candidate to possibly play the penetrating 3-tech that this Gus Bradley defense covets.Russell was a for-year stalwart for the Auburn defense having started 49 of his 52 career games. His final numbers aren’t eye-popping, but they’re solid, nonetheless. He finished his career with 153 total tackles, 17 tackles-for-loss, and six sacks.Russell was also invited to the Reese’s Senior Bowl where he enjoyed a ho-hum week against some of the top talent in the entire county. He didn’t standout in many instances but just the fact he was invited is a good indicator that Tom Telesco and company have done their homework on the guy. All together, Russell has the experience and pedigree of a guy that should be looked at hard when things start to wind-down in this year’s draft.OT Martez Ivey - FloridaIvey came to the University of Florida as a highly-touted recruit was selected to several All-America teams, including USA Today and a spot in the U.S. Army All-American Game.As a primary contributor from day one, Ivey played in all 12 games his freshman season, starting the last eight at left guard. In ‘16 and ‘17, Ivey started 23 of 24 games, playing mostly left guard with the last two starts of his junior campaign coming at left tackle. He was named to the second team All-SEC team in both years. However, as a senior this past year Brandon Mebane Jersey , Ivey took a backseat to the resounding hype of teammate Jawaan Taylor who burst onto the scene to become one of the most coveted offensive linemen in this year’s draft. After looking like the better prospect of the two early in their careers, Ivey now sits as a low-round flier with some upside. His 6-foot-5, 309-pound frame looks the part, and his 36 1/2-inch arms are tops among all offensive linemen in the entire class. But will the god-given stuff become enough with the proper coaching? I’m not so sure.Regardless, he showed some promise once before, maybe lightning can strike twice.LB Cam Smith - USCIt’s easy to follow the bread crumbs when it comes to Smith and the Chargers. He’s a player right in their backyard that plays a position of need who may also come cheaply.Smith has been a leading tackler for the Trojans ever since he stepped foot on campus. His freshman year was tremendous for a first-year player and really set the tone for the rest of his career in Southern California. That season, in 2015, Smith had 78 tackles with a single TFL and sack, but he also picked off a trio of passes and took one of them back for a score. In his next two years, Smith increased his tackle numbers to 83 the following year, and then up to 112 in 2017, making him just the second Trojan to go over 100 tackles since 2012. In 2018, his tackle numbers would fall back down to 81.Smith would finish his career with 26.5 tackles-for loss, 3.5 sacks, four interceptions http://www.thechargerslockerroom.com/authentic-michael-schofield-jersey , and a surprising 14 passes defended.Smith possesses the leadership, intensity, and football IQ that any coach would want in a middle linebacker. Some guys just have a knack for always being around the football and that’s always something any coaching staff can work with. With the linebacker class being one of the weaker groups in this year’s draft, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Smith get selected prior to the sixth round, but if he were to fall well into day three, there’s no reason the Chargers shouldn’t bring the hometown kid in.Chargers-Bills final score: Los Angeles Chargers defeat the Buffalo Bills 31-20 The Chargers started the game on offense with Philip Rivers working with an empty backfield. He was flushed from the pocket and picked up 7 yards on the ground. They tried a jet sweep to J.J. Jones on 2nd down, but it was easily stopped by the Bills. Melvin Gordon caught a pass in the flat and only had to get by one guy to get the easy 1st down, but in a surprise to nobody at all he lost his feet and fell. That brought on the punt team.Josh Allen’s first drive as a starter was ended by rookie Uchenna Nwosu picking up his first career sack. After a punt, the Chargers took over with good field position and an opportunity to take an early lead. Virgil Green took a short pass over the middle, broke a tackle, and picked up a big gain. Gordon followed that with a short gain on the new 1st down. Mike Williams then made his presence felt with a very impressive catch high and over the middle. Williams took a big shot and held onto the ball for a touchdown.LeSean McCoy caught a short pass for 6 yards, but the Chargers took that right back when Derwin James picked up yet another sack getting to Allen before he could even look up. An off target Allen pass later and the Bills were punting again.Austin Ekeler picked up consecutive chunk plays on a short pass to the flat and then a jet sweep. Melvin Gordon was then stopped for no gain or negative yardage on consecutive plays. On 3rd & long, Rivers was able to find Mike Williams for a 1st down. On the next play, Gordon had a clear path 20 yards for a touchdown in large part thanks to a pulling Mike Pouncey who just buried his guy.The Bills started their next drive by going back to McCoy through the air. He picked up 9 yards and Allen was able to scramble for the 1st on the next snap. McCoy got a carry after that and looked good picking up 5 yards up the middle. Robert Foster then took a jet sweep action for 11 yards on 2nd down (the same thing the Chiefs torched the Chargers with last week). Allen ran a bootleg and threw short but Kyzir White broke up the pass. A big run by McCoy was then called back due to holding that was largely unnecessary. On 2nd & 20 and 3rd & 20, Allen threw incomplete. An incredibly stupid penalty by Desmond King gave the Bills 15 yards and a first down. On the new set of downs Womens Corey Liuget Jersey , Charles Clay was “covered” by Kyle Emanue and Jahleel Addae. That, of course, resulted in a 21-yard reception. McCoy was stuffed for no gain to end the 1st quarter. On the first play of the 2nd quarter, Melvin Ingram and Damion Square met at the quarterback for an 11-yard sack. On 3rd & 21, McCoy took a swing pass for 8 yards to make the field goal attempt a bit easier. Stephen Hauschka converted the 43-yard attempt.Running to the left side of the line, Austin Ekeler picked up a easy 20+ yards that he finished hard running through a tackle. Virgil Green then picked up a nice gain on an intermediate pass. On an endaround, Ekeler picked up another big gain. Gordon followed it with his best run of the day that went for 5 yards. After that he was left wide open for an easy pitch and catch touchdown.A short pass by Allen and two short runs by Marcus Murphy including a 3rd down run that was stopped behind the line of scrimmage by Darius Philon result in a three-and-out.After a screen failed to develop, Rivers went to Keenan Allen on 2nd down and Allen picked up a 1st down after an impressive run after catch. Tyrell Williams on a crossing route immediately got out of bounds instead of cutting upfield but he still picked up a 1st down. Tyrell then caught another long pass and fumbled, but he was lucky that the Chargers recovered. The Bills challenged the ruling but it stood. Melvin Gordon picked up some decent yardage on consecutive receptions but showcased his poor openfield running on both. Keenan Allen ran a beautiful route, beat his man, then picked up good yardage after the catch. A bad snap and a false start later the Chargers were looking at a 2nd & 10 from the 10. Rivers shoveled a pass to Gordon after quick pressure forced him to improvise and Gordon made it to the 2. On 3rd & 2, Rivers looked for and found Gordon again for their third touchdown connection of the day.A 57-yard pass to Zay Jones eclipsed the Bills’ total offensive output on the day to that point.A couple ineffective passes and a Melvin Ingram sack later the Bills brought on the kicking team again. Hauschka was good from 41 yards. The Bills’ first possession of the second half started out as the LeSean McCoy show, but ended up being successful largely because of Josh Allen’s ability to elude pressure and scramble. A dumb horse collar tackle penalty by Melvin Ingram essentially guaranteed the Bills would get their first touchdown of the game and then Chris Ivory punched it in from the 1.A quick three-and-out by the Chargers was followed by a bizarre series of events on the ensuing punt. The returner failed to signal for a fair catch and was blown up immediately. Taiwan Jones recovered the ball in the end zone. His helmet was knocked off. The referees allowed the play to continue and then flagged the Chargers when they tackled him.The defense largely stood strong allowing only one 1st down on a very nice throw by Allen to Kelvin Benjamin. Unfortunately, the offense was unable to get anything going as they went three-and-out including a big sack on 3rd down. With great field position, the Bills took a shot deep on their first play Dan Feeney Jersey , but Casey Hayward was there to knock the ball away. On 2nd down, McCoy appeared to be injured on a 1-yard run. On a play that almost definitely should have been blown dead due to Allen being “in the grasp,” Allen threw a pick to Adrian Phillips. The Buffalo defense stepped up big after the turnover and very nearly forced a fumble when they sacked Rivers on 2nd down. A bad punt by Drew Kaser took a lucky bounce and saved it from being as awful as it could have been. The 4th quarter began with the Chargers holding a 28-13 lead and looking like they were already ready to go home. It was all Derwin James as he almost single-handedly ruined the Bills’ drive and forced them to punt.Tyrell Williams showed up again hauling in an 18-yard reception to start the drive. Gordon then came on to lose 4 yards and appeared to be injured though he walked off the field. Allen then caught another pass this time good for 16 yards. Virgil Green appeared to fumble along the sideline but was ruled down by contact and a review confirmed that. On 3rd & 10, Austin Ekeler nearly managed to make something from nothing, but he was unable to and the Chargers elected to punt after taking a delay of game penalty. The Chargers appeared to touch the ball in the end zone which should have resulted in a touchback, but the referees missed that and the Bills started inside their own 5-yard line. Josh Allen quickly made matters worse by throwing a pass that was intercepted by Kyzir White.A Keenan Allen reception brought the Chargers to the 1-yard line. An aborted snap moved them back to the 5. Luckily, Ekeler recovered. Ultimately, the Chargers settled for a field goal attempt that put the game out of reach for the Bills.Allen and the Bills offense took over with about 4 minutes left in the game and went hurry-up hoping to give themselves a chance to score quickly. Allen scrambled early in the drive for yards, but his first pass fell incomplete. He managed to hit Logan Thomas for a 1st down on the next play. From there, the Chargers were content to let the Bills complete anything they wanted underneath and focused on tackling to prevent any yards after catch.Eventually, the failure to tackle resulted in Chris Ivory taking a short pass a long way to set up a 1st & goal from the 3. Kelvin Benjamin then caught a touchdown pass to make the game appear closer than it was.

Week 5 Edition Week 4 of the 2018 NFL regular season schedule

Now it’s time to see where all 32 teams rank. For reference purposes Alshon Jeffery Jerseys Stitched , here is a link to last week’s NFL Power Rankings.BLG’S WEEK 5 NFL POWER RANKINGS1 - Kansas City Chiefs (Last Week: 1) - Pat Mahomes is the TRUTH and Andy Reid is such a good coach ... in the regular season, at least.2 - Los Angeles Rams (LW: 2) - The Rams are for real. That offense is scary. Jared Goff was dropping dimes against Minnesota’s defense.3 - New Orleans Saints (LW: 5) - Not unlike years past, the Saints have weathered a shaky start to jump out to 3-1. Alvin Kamara is one of the most dangerous players in the league.4 - Jacksonville Jaguars (LW: 6) - The Jags bounced back with a win. Their defense is still tough.5 - New England Patriots (LW: 12) - Classic Patriots. Fall down to 1-2 and bounce back with a dominant 38-7 win over a previously undefeated Miami team. (Where have I seen that final score before?)6 - Green Bay Packers (LW: 10) - After losing in Washington last week, the Packers returned home to shut out Buffalo at home. Easy.7 - Chicago Bears (LW: 13) - Prior to Week 4, the Bears’ defense was carrying the team while Mitchell Trubisky was struggling. Trubisky finally stepped up this weekend by throwing six touchdowns on just 26 passing attempts against Tampa Bay. Talk about efficiency. 8 - Tennessee Titans (LW: 20) - The Titans are 3-1 after beating the reigning Super Bowl champs. This team has character. They’ve really fought hard under Mike Vrabel. 9 - Carolina Panthers (LW: 9) - The Panthers had a bye. They’ll host the G-Men this week, which presents a real opportunity to get to 3-1. 10 - Cincinnati Bengals (LW: 16) - Cincy hung tough and found a way to win in Atlanta. Solid team. 11 - Baltimore Ravens (LW: 17) - It feels like Joe Flacco is having his best season since forever ago. The Ravens drafting Lamar Jackson really lit a fire under his butt. 12 - Washington Redskins (LW: 11) - Good week for Washington. They didn’t even have to play a game and still ended up being first in the NFC East. Washington returns to action with a game in New Orleans. Tough test.13 - Philadelphia Eagles (LW: 3) - The Eagles had a 93.1% win probability after going up 17-3 on Sunday. Then the defense blew the lead and Philly lost in overtime. It’s apparent the Eagles have a number of issues, with a struggling secondary being chief among them. 14 - Atlanta Falcons (LW: 8) - I’d argue the Falcons are better than their 1-3 record indicates. They only have a point differential of -6. They’ve had a tough schedule so far.15 - Minnesota Vikings (LW: 15) - Kirk Cousins is Tony Romo. Post good stats, choke the game away, get absolved of blame. But the real issue with Minnesota is their struggling defense. Dating back to the 2018 NFC Championship Game Jalen Mills Jerseys Stitched , the Vikings have allowed 29.6 points per game in their last five matchups. 16 - Miami Dolphins (LW: 4) - Who would’ve guessed the Dolphins were fraudulent? Just about everyone. Yup. Not like I had them high my power rankings last week.17 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers (LW: 7) - It was only a matter of time before Ryan Fitzpatrick turned back into a pumpkin. The bigger issue for the Bucs, though, is that their defense is porous. 18 - Los Angeles Chargers (LW: 18) - The Chargers just barely managed to beat C.J. Beathard. For that, I award them no change in their ranking. 19 - PIttsburgh Steelers (LW: 14) - Pittsburgh is now 1-2-1 after losing to Baltimore. This team could easily be 1-3. The potential good news is that Le’Veon Bell plans to return, but not until after the team’s Week 7 bye. 20 - Denver Broncos (LW: 19) - Case Keenum had a wide open Demaryius Thomas for a touchdown late in the fourth quarter but he simply overthrew him. That’s what happens when your quarterback is Case Keenum. All told, still a solid showing against an undefeated Kansas City squad.21 - Seattle Seahawks (LW: 22) - The Seahawks eked out a win over a bad Arizona squad. They also lost Earl Thomas for the season. This team is going nowhere fast. 22 - Dallas Cowboys (LW: 28) - The Cowboys easily could’ve lost at home to Detroit but they managed to sneak away with a win on a late field goal. 23 - Cleveland Browns (LW: 21) - Cleveland got screwed by the refs. This team has had some bad luck early on in the season. (Not to mention the past billion years.)24 - San Francisco 49ers (LW: 24) - Gotta give the Niners credit for hanging tough with Beathard at quarterback. 25 - Houston Texans (LW: 30) - Houston is on the board after managing to beat Indy. Deshaun Watson had his best game of the season.26 - Indianapolis Colts (LW: 23) - Frank Reich is drawing some criticism for playing to win instead of being conservative and playing to tie. I say screw those critics. Herm Edwards had it right: you PLAY to WIN the GAME!27 - Detroit Lions (LW: 25) - Well, they’re showing fight, but they’re still not good. 28 - Oakland Raiders (LW: 31) - The Raiders got some help from the refs to avoid going 0-4. 29 - Buffalo Bills (LW: 26) - After a big upset win in Minny last week, Buffalo managed to score exactly zero points in Green Bay. The good and bad of Josh Allen. 30 - New York Jets (LW: 27) - The J-E-T-S have dropped three straight after winning in Week 1.31 - New York Giants (LW: 29) - It was foolish to think the Giants were “back” just because they beat Houston last week. This team clearly isn’t any good. Pat Shurmur is staring 1-4 in the face with a game in Carolina up next. 32 - Arizona Cardinals (LW: 32) - The Cardinals actually looked competitive after benching Sam Bradford and replacing him with Josh Rosen. Shocking!Eagles players didn’t mind the ‘boos’ Black Vinny Curry Jerseys , so you shouldn’t either During one particular preseason edition of the “Nick Foles what are you doing!?” Show, I sat there screaming at my TV when my Dad looked at me and laughed, “that’s pretty aggressive snark for a preseason game”. But that’s the thing, whether it’s the preseason or the playoffs, Eagles fans expect a good performance — and when the product on the field isn’t good, we often let the team know. (Even if it’s from our living rooms, and far from the coaches ears.)It might be a bit surprising to some of the new guys in the building — or outside media members —, but any team vet will tell you that Eagles fans love hard, and they might support you in good times and bad Vinny Curry Jerseys 2019 , but in the bad times they are going to let you hear it.It’s something Brent Celek celebrated in his retirement letter to Eagles fans:Moreso than being expected — especially given the actual offensive performance against the Falcons on Thursday, particularly in the first half — team leader Malcolm Jenkins explained why he was happy to hear the fans jeers heading into the half.A lot has been made this offseason about how the team would handle things as reigning Super Bowl Champions; whether they would rest on their laurels or still be motivated to go for another ring. Jenkins’ admission is that the fans are what will ultimately keep them humble and keep them pushing to be even better than they were the day before.“We all we got, we all we need.”And that “we” includes the players on the field, the coaches on the sidelines, and the fans in the stands and watching from home. Sure, we may “boo” a time or two, but it’s really for the betterment of the team — and who can be mad at that?

The NFL’s lone undefeated team has just made an already

The Los Angeles Rams swapped a pair of draft picks for Jaguars pass rusher Dante Fowleron Tuesday Lane Johnson Jerseys Stitched , adding the third overall pick in 2015 to a defense already stocked with Aaron Donald, Ndamukong Suh, Michael Brockers and Mark Barron for the most surprising move at the NFL trade deadline.Denver sent wide receiver Demaryius Thomas to Houston in a deal giving the Broncos some salary cap relief, and Philadelphia gave Carson Wentz another target picking up receiver Golden Tate from Detroit. Washington added safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix , while Green Bay shipped Ty Montgomery to Baltimore two days after fumbling a kickoff late against the Rams. The Rams gave up a third-round pick in 2019 and a fifth-rounder in 2020 for Fowler, who is a free agent at the end of this season. Fowler became expendable with Yannick Ngakoue’s success, and the Jaguars already opted in 2017 not to pick up the fifth-year option on Fowler’s rookie deal.Fowler has two sacks in seven games while playing behind Ngakoue. With the Broncos at 3-5, Denver general manager John Elway made a move to clear both some salary cap space and more playing time for some of his younger receivers. Thomas has a salary cap figure of $15.53 million for 2019, the last year of his deal, while rookies Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton and second-year Tim Patrick are much cheaper. The Texans (5-3) have won five straight to take the lead in the AFC South and had to replace Will Fuller who tore a knee ligament i n a win over Miami last week. Houston sent a 2019 fourth-round pick to Denver with the teams swapping seventh-rounders in next year’s draft.Thomas is a nine-year veteran with 36 catches for 402 yards this season. Elway said the Texans beat out three or four other teams for the veteran.“It’s never easy when you trade a guy that’s been a household name around here for a long time and done a lot of great things Youth Paul Worrilow Jerseys , not only on the football field but also in the community, and is a good man,” Elway said.“Plus, it’s a good spot for Demaryius. He’s going to a good football team that’s in a pennant race. So, it’ll be good for him, too.”The defending Super Bowl champions Eagles (4-4) have their bye this week and could lose Tate after this season if he leaves in free agency.“We’re not going to sit on our hands,” Eagles personnel boss Howie Roseman said. “It’s hard to find really good players and this is a really good player. The message to our players, our coaches and our fans is that our foot is always going to be on the gas.”Tate, 30, has 44 catches for 517 yards and three touchdowns this season and joins an offense that already has Alshon Jeffery Youth Derek Barnett Jerseys , Nelson Agholor and Jordan Matthews and tight ends Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert. Tate can help the Eagles be less predictable with his ability to play in the slot.He averaged 93 catches, 1,056 yards receiving and five TDs the past four seasons in Detroit after spending his first four with Seattle. If Tate leaves after the season, Philadelphia likely would receive a compensation pick.Tate wrote on Twitter : “It’s been real DETROIT! I’ll love ya forever. Philly Philly let’s get it!!” He then posted a GIF of fictional Philly icon Rocky Balboa jumping up and down on the steps of the Art Museum with the caption: “Mood.”The Packers made a couple of moves, trading away Ty Montgomery two days after his late fumble on a kickoff kept Green Bay and Aaron Rodgers from a late chance to hand the Rams their first loss this season. They sent the running back and kick returner to Baltimore. They also sent safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix to Washington for a fourth-round draft pick in 2019 as the Redskins (5-2) boosted a stingy defense. Now Washington can pair Clinton-Dix, who will be a free agent after this season, with D.J. Swearinger. Clinton-Dix, a first-round pick in 2014 out of Alabama, has started 65 of his 71 games, and he has 14 interceptions Derek Barnett Jerseys Stitched , including three this season. Swearinger leads the NFL with four interceptions this season.Clinton-Dix is just the latest former Alabama player on the Washington roster, joining recent first-round picks Jonathan Allen and Daron Payne along the defensive line, and second-round pick Ryan Anderson at linebacker. The Ravens sent a seventh-round pick to Green Bay (3-3-1) for Montgomery , who had been told to take a touchback if the kickoff with about two minutes left in a 29-27 loss to the Rams went into the end zone. A third-round pick in 2015, Montgomery has 1,676 yards from scrimmage for his career. Well, not so much if you’re a Toronto fan. If you’re a Sixers fan, though, it was pretty awesome. A dominant performance from Joel Embiid and company allowed the Sixers to take a 2-1 lead in the series. The energy at the Wells Fargo Center was palpable. Among those in attendance for the Sixers’ big win were a number of Philadelphia Eagles players. Carson Wentz got things started by being one of the Sixers’ three ceremonial bell ringers prior to tip off:Then we saw Zach Erz Youth Wilbert Montgomery Jerseys , Alshon Jeffery, and DeSean Jackson all sitting court-side next to Meek Mill, Michael Rubin, and The Answer himself: Allen Iverson.Love Alshon rocking the Kelly Green hat to match his Randall Cunningham jersey. (We all know Alshon is a big Kelly Green guy.)The attendance list doesn’t end there, though. New Eagles offseason acquisitions Jordan Howard and Malik Jackson were also in the building on Thursday night.Pretty cool to see Eagles players taking a break from their offseason workout program to bond together and show some brotherly love to one of their neighbors. I’m sure the Eagles will continue to have a big presence if the Sixers continue to win. Game four is set for Sunday at 3:30 PM ET.

Who should the Jaguars target on the waiver wire?

The Jacksonville Jaguars have to get down to a 53-man roster by this Saturday at 4pm EST — meaning that approximately 1 Womens Josh Oliver Jersey ,184 players will be headed to the unemployment line. 1,184 players. When you pause and think it, that’s absolutely staggering. Through adversity comes opportunity, however, and a myriad of personnel decision-makers will be gleaning the waiver wire to try and improve the back ends of their roster.Players with less than four years of experience in the NFL are subject to waivers, and the NFL defines an accrued season as one in which a player appeared on the active 53-man roster for at least six games. I’ve watched every single snap from every single preseason game through the first three weeks and have assembled a short list of potential players who the Jaguars could target in the first 24 hours of cuts. In my opinion, there are really three positions on this roster that could stand to be substantially upgraded with outside help – developmental quarterback, depth running back, and depth linebacker. Here are some names Cheap Josh Oliver Jersey , in order of personal preference, in the event they are released:QuarterbackAlex McGough (Seahawks)Josh Dobbs (Steelers)Kurt Benkert (Falcons)Chase Litton (Chiefs)The Jaguars spent a sixth round pick on Tanner Lee and will most likely roll with him on the practice squad for this season. When you also consider the sturdiness of Blake Bortles and the strong play of back up Cody Kessler this preseason, it’s even more of a stretch to think they burn a roster spot on a third signal caller. If the Jags did want to invest in a bona fide developmental quarterback, the four players listed above are the only guys that I would consider burning a roster spot this season for. A rookie out of Florida International, McGough is a tailor-made fit for this offense. Courageous and sneaky athletic, McGough’s strong pocket presence and small sample size of jaw-dropping throws in his three preseason outings for the Seahawks have caught the attention of many around the league. The recent acquisition of Brett Hundley may insinuate that Seattle could try to sneak McGough through to the practice squad, but it’s very unlikely that they risk exposing him due to his encouraging play. Similarly to McGough, Dobbs and Benkert are good fits for this offense thanks to their mobility when the play breaks down and accuracy on high-completion tosses. Litton is a taller pocket passer who doesn’t have the same wiggle as the other guys on the list but has shown impressive accuracy in limited action for the Chiefs. I also had Packers rookie free agent Tim Boyle on this list, but Green Bay beat reporters have already stated that the team will be keeping Boyle on the roster owing to the departure of Hundley.Running backJosh Adams (Eagles)Darrel Williams (Chiefs)Roc Thomas (Vikings)Chris Warren III (Raiders)Justin Jackson (Chargers)De’Angelo Henderson (Broncos)Justin Davis (Rams)Akrum Wadley (Titans)Mike Gillislee (Patriots)Tra Carson (Bengals)Kapri Bibbs (Redskins)The top five names are rookies Black Josh Oliver Jersey , and that’s the route I would go to fill that fourth running back role due to high-ceiling potential and low financial investment. Josh Adams from Notre Dame may have played himself onto the roster with some impressive runs despite being shut out by the Browns in week three. Leonard Fournette’s former LSU teammate Darrel Williams is the Chris Ivory-mold power runner who would be good insurance as a short yardage back and would no doubt delight Leo. Thomas has shown he can be a dangerous pass catching threat out of the backfield and could provide some insurance for Corey Grant, who is entering a contract year. Injuries have kept Chargers late seventh round pick from Northwestern Justin Jackson off the field and in jeopardy of losing his spot to undrafted Detrez Newsome, who has impressed. Jon Gruden and the Raiders have raved about the 6’2” 246 pound Warren, but he may get caught up in a numbers game in Oakland. The Broncos have already publicly put De’Angelo Henderson on the trade block due to the emergence of rookies Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman, and Justin Davis may be in roster trouble due to the strong play of John Kelly in Los Angeles. Former Gator Mike Gillislee may be a veteran name to consider if/when he gets released from New England, but won’t come as cheap as some of the other guys on the list.LinebackerBen Niemann (Chiefs)Stephone Anthony (Dolphins)Jason Cabinda (Raiders)Hardy Nickerson Jr. (Bengals)Andre Smith (Panthers)Tegray Scales (Rams)Elijah Lee (49ers)Many who were following the 2018 draft recognize the name of University of Iowa linebacker Josey Jewell, but his Hawkeyes teammate Ben Niemann has been one of the Chief’s most impressive defenders this preseason. The Chiefs have some capital invested in the linebacker position, so they may have to chose between undrafted Niemann and 100th overall pick Dorian O’Daniel, who has been dealing with a thumb injury in camp and just hasn’t seen enough of the field. Speaking of Clemson players Josh Oliver Jacksonville Jaguars Jerseys , Stephone Anthony has disappointed since being selected in the second round by the Saints in 2015, but his 9.92 relative athletic score (RAS) may be too alluring to pass up as a depth middle or weak side linebacker. Undrafted out of Penn State, Cabinda may get caught in a numbers game behind Marquel Lee, who has played very well in preseason. Cabinda is a natural leader and would be a missile on special teams in addition to providing middle linebacker depth. Two names with Jacksonville ties are Hardy Nickerson Jr. and Andre Smith. The son of former Jaguars linebacker Hardy Nickerson, Hardy Jr. attended the University of Illinois and would (perhaps) re-join former teammates Dawuane Smoot and Carroll Phillips on the team. A former standout at Trinity Christian High School, Andre Smith was selected by the Panthers in the seventh round of this year’s draft but has been buried on the depth chart after an injury-plagued season at North Carolina. If healthy, Smith fits the athletic and leadership profile this team covets from its linebackers and could also be an ace on special teams. Scales is an rookie free agent from Indiana who many draft pundits had a draftable grade on and could play both strong side and middle linebacker in the Jaguars scheme. Weak side linebacker Elijah Lee is an ascending player who has been playing under former Jaguars linebacker coach Robert Saleh in San Francisco.Last season, Dave Caldwell claimed five players after final cuts (tight end James O’Shaugnessy, offensive lineman William Poehls Jacksonville Jaguars Jerseys Stitched , defensive tackle Eli Ankou, linebacker Donald Payne, cornerback Lafayette Pitts). How many claims do you forecast for the Jaguars in 2018? Who would you be interested in bringing in? The Giants’ second pick in the 2015 draft signed with Washington last week and their top pick in that draft could be joining safety Landon Collins.Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that tackle Ereck Flowers will visit Collins’ new team on Sunday night. Flowers wouldn’t be leaving the Giants in order to sign with their divisional rivals, however. The Giants selected Flowers with the ninth overall pick in 2015, but his run with the team came to an end when he was released in October 2018. Flowers opened his career at left tackle and struggled for most of his first three seasons. He moved to right tackle last year, but his poor pass protection and penchant for penalties followed him across the field. He was benched after two games and then landed with the Jaguars after his release. Flowers started the final seven games at left tackle for Jacksonville.Washington has left tackle Trent Williams and right tackle Morgan Moses under contract, but swing tackle Ty Nsekhe left for Buffalo as a free agent.

The experienced and accomplished Suggs

Bears’ defensive swagger."Before the greatness of the Von Miller’s Womens Dick Butkus Jersey , J.J. Watt’s, and Khalil Mack’s of the world came to be, there was Terrell Suggs. Before a new golden generation of pass rushers developed, Suggs was already wreaking havoc on the NFL. The 36-year-old is gracefully aging into the twilight of an illustrious career, but his future in Baltimore is uncertain as he remains unsigned. With the open of free agency a few days away, it’s looking increasingly likely one of the most accomplished pass rushers of the 21st century — a man affectionately nicknamed “T-Sizzle” — will test the open market for the first time. As the Bears load up for a Super Bowl pursuit in the 2019 season, it behooves them to take advantage of Suggs’ openness to a new environment and aggressively nab the prolific veteran outside linebacker. Keeping close tiesSuggs has carved out a special career. He was never better than in 2011, when Pagano was his coach. Photo by Larry French/Getty ImagesSuccess in the NFL, like most professions, is defined by the quality of interpersonal working relationships. A team can be oozing talent on paper and fail anyway due to poor leadership at the top. If there’s no cohesion between respective players and coaches the talent often ends up being wasted. Say what you will of the overzealous and often idiotic Michael Scott as a boss in The Office: He ran a better office and had a closer rapport with most of his coworkers than anyone that tried to replace him over the show’s run. His quirky interpersonal ability let him keep the somehow infallible Dunder Mifflin afloat. It’s the same for NFL coaches and their players: Those coaches who can teach, as well as establish respect and admiration in their players, are those that endure. Ideally you’d want a better individual unit than Dunder Mifflin but the point remains. One of the best things Matt Nagy’s Bears have going for them is their chemistry, particularly with defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano’s stellar defense. From top to bottom, the Bears’ defense is not only stacked with special ability in the form of Khalil Mack and Eddie Jackson, they also actually like playing with one another: Not a universal case across the league. Where the Suggs-to-Chicago connection naturally comes in is with Suggs’ deep ties to Pagano. In the one year Pagano featured as an NFL defensive coordinator in Baltimore William Perry Jersey , Suggs was his Jim Halpert: The most prominent member of a great defense (office). In a 16-year career where Suggs has amassed seven Pro Bowl selections and averaged over eight sacks a season, 2011 forever sticks out as his finest work. On a Baltimore defense featuring First-Ballot Hall of Famers in Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, Suggs overshadowed one of the greatest linebackers and safeties ever when he received a well-deserved Defensive Player of the Year. His 70 tackles, 23 quarterback hits, 20 tackles for loss and gaudy seven forced fumbles back then paced an aggressive Ravens defense. Those numbers understate how special Suggs was on a merciless, ruthless defense. A No. 1 ranked unit that brings about plenty of callbacks to the modern Bears.Given his natural talent and propensity for hard work, it’s likely Suggs would’ve reached his career peak regardless of who was his coach. At the peak of his powers, Suggs was always tenacious and savvy. Those kinds of players find a way to succeed regardless of circumstances. That the best piece of his individual career happened with Pagano should resonate with a veteran that’s been around the block more than a few times. Established relationships matter to pending free agents, and Suggs is no different. For a prime example of how much Pagano meant to Suggs, look no further than the superstar being mockingly adamant as to Pagano’s lacking merits as a leader years ago. Late in the 2011 season, Suggs glowed with endorsements for the 58-year-old coach. But not before saying he “sucks” as to keep him out of likely head coaching consideration: Suggs knew his efforts were in vain as Pagano would end up being hired by the Colts. His satirical review of Pagano nevertheless sticks out out as a sign of how much Suggs valued his overarching tutelage. (It’s reminiscent of how the Bears acted when Vic Fangio bolted for the Broncos but that’s neither here nor there.) While time can sometimes can change people, it’s doubtful Suggs’ admiration for Pagano has faded entirely if at all. It’s not a small detail as the Bears look to fill out a largely otherwise complete roster. If anyone can continue to coax out production and a buy-in mentality from an older player potentially switching jerseys like Suggs, it’s Pagano. If anyone can find a seamless role as a situational pass rusher on the NFL’s top defense, it’s Pagano. Pagano has Suggs’ respect, and those connections frequently win out if given an opening.Still sizzlingYou could do far worse than Suggs as your third outside linebacker. Photo by Rob Carr/Getty ImagesThere are a few standing rules about NFL roster construction. You never have too many offensive linemen. You never have too many cornerbacks. And most importantly http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-mike-ditka-jersey , you never have too much pass rushers. Suggs — at a ripe age in his late 30’s — is still one of pro football’s most feared men off the edge and would give the Bears’ desired pass rush depth. In 2018, despite playing just 71.88 percent of the Ravens’ defensive snaps, Suggs found a way to routinely make an impact with 34 tackles, 15 quarterback hits, 13 tackles for loss, and seven sacks. For comparison’s sake, that’s only three less quarterback hits and three more tackles for loss than Mack last year: Someone who was in the Defensive Player of the Year conversation for a good portion of the fall. It’s also more than Leonard Floyd on every count, hand injury and all.Suggs isn’t nearly the same wrecking ball he was earlier in his career, but it doesn’t matter. When his numbers still compare well to guys he’s supposedly passed the torch to — guys almost 10 years his junior — it’s clear there’s plenty left in the tank. When he’s transitioning toward more of a situational role on a loaded defense, he doesn’t have to be the same weapon of mass destruction he’s profiled as for most of the past decade. In Chicago and in the event of any signing, Suggs would assuredly feature as the Bears’ third outside linebacker behind Mack and Floyd. He’d give one of the NFL’s better edge duos a solid swingman to lean on when necessary. Suggs would not only help Mack and Floyd stay on a relative pitch count as necessary through the grind of the season, he’d also put his limited snaps to efficient use. The Bears have an elite pass rush but the one piece they’re missing is a reliable third man on the edge. There aren’t many better available for a win-now team than Suggs. Fitting right inThe Bears’ outlook has shifted this off-season. They’re no longer a timid also-ran. They want to confidently throw their weight around. They’re not reductively looking at 16-game campaigns anymore. They should be glowingly and fittingly optimistic, viewing their season with a 19-20 game prism well into January. Championship teams have depth at key positions and the Bears shouldn’t view themselves differently. To play well into January, two of their most important players in Mack and Floyd have to stay fresh and healthy for five months. To make the championship run they feel confident in, they need someone effective like Suggs to spell their top pass rush pairing. Any concern with fit and Suggs should go by the wayside when you note his Pagano connection. He’s a short-term fit that suits the Bears to a tee. Any worry over a self-assured personality rubbing people the wrong way at Halas Hall is also overblown. If anything Womens Richard Dent Jersey , he would slide right in along boisterous Bears like Akiem Hicks and Tarik Cohen. In terms of contract expense, fit, and overall value, not many fit better in that beautiful picture of quality depth than Suggs. The Bears have the Pagano link and a ready-made defense. If the opportunity presents itself for Chicago, it’s time to unite two eras of pass rushing greatness with Mack and reel in Suggs. Robert is the Editor-in-chief of The Blitz Network (subscribe here!), the managing editor of Windy City Gridiron, and writes for a host of other fine publications. You can follow him on Twitter @RobertZeglinski. The Bears clinched the division, finished their worst-to-first journey, beat the team that’s been a perennial thorn in their sides for years. All in all, a vastly successful Sunday. With that being said, how can I pick three players for stock down? This was about as complete a game as the Bears have played this season, with multiple players on both sides of the ball making plays, it’s going to be very tough to find three for the stock down side.So keep in mind, I’m being very nitpicky in the stock down side of things, because there weren’t a ton of glaring errors Sunday. And before you bring it it Dan Hampton Jersey , Khalil Mack isn’t mentioned because his stock cannot go any higher. If you didn’t think he’d show up against Green Bay then you haven’t been paying attention.Stock upMitchell Trubisky, QB - The thing about Trubisky is, in his second season, he hasn’t really had many back-to-back bad games since very early in the season. Sure, fans want to see him bring the same level of consistency and high-level playmaking on a weekly basis, but this was a huge bounce back for him from arguably his worst career game. He outplayed Aaron Rodgers, granted against a lesser defense than what Rodgers faced. But this was still a big game and a big moment for Trubisky and he aced it.Roquan Smith, LB - While Eddie Jackson gets the credit for ending Aaron Rodgers’ 402 interception-free pass attempts streak, it was Smith that had the deflection that made it possible. Jackson could earn a spot on this list on his own with his game, but I am giving the nod to Smith, who also had 10 tackles in addition to that fateful pass break up.Leonard Floyd, OLB - Floyd plays big against the Green Bay Packers:Yesterday was no different, he had two sacks, two TFL, three QB hits and six tackles. He made plays all over the field and is making a big impact down the stretch.Stock downTaquan Mizzell http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-brian-urlacher-jersey , RB - Why Mizzell continues to get looks over the established Benny Cunningham is beyond me. Mizzell got stuffed on a third and one play late in the game that led to the fake punt. There was a running lane and he missed it. It gave the Packers the opportunity that nearly turned the game around.Akiem Hicks, DE - Maybe it was the Packers’ scheme, maybe it was just the way the game played out, but Hicks was suspiciously absent from the game. He was without a sack, TFL or QB hit for the first time since Thanksgiving Day against Detroit. It’s not concerning, but it was interesting. They didn’t need his big plays with Khalil Mack and Leonard Floyd making so many big plays.Anthony Miller, WR - He’s done well as the KR but as a receiver, Miller has somewhat disappeared. Maybe it’s just the way the games have played out, we’ve seen other Bears weapons ebb and flow in out of the games this season (Robinson, Gabriel, Burton). So maybe it’s just been the opponents, but Sunday Miller didn’t even register a target. In the last three games he has just three targets, one catch and one TD and that only came on the gadget play against the Giants. Since then he’s had one target and zero catches.Who stood out to you? Who would you have in the stock down?

Top Ten Defensive Performances of 2017

Melvin Ingram v. Chiefs - 6 Tackles Russell Okung Jerseys Stitched , 3 SacksIn a game that became almost unwatchable by the fourth quarter, EDGE rusher Melvin Ingram did just about everything you could ask of him in the 24-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.Collecting quarterback pressures like it was Easter Sunday, Ingram was merciless and displayed a motor that was often too much to handle for right tackle Mitchell Schwartz as King Mel racked up a trifecta of sacks on quarterback Alex Smith. In the middle of the second quarter, on 2nd & 5 with the Chiefs just outside the Bolts’ redzone, Ingram came off the edge from a wide 9-technique. Looking initially like his normal speed rush, Ingram turned speed to power as he met Schwartz four yards back from the line of scrimmage. Smith, feeling the pressure, stepped up in the pocket to avoid pressure but Ingram stabbed through the inside shoulder of the tackle and met Smith in the middle of the scrum, bringing him down for a loss of two yards and his first take-down of the night. His second sack came on the last play of the third quarter with the Chargers still within one score. On a 3rd & 3 with the Chiefs around midfield Youth Russell Okung Jerseys , Ingram lined up in a two-point stance on the outside shoulder of the right guard with Joey Bosa to his left outside the tackle. At the snap, Bosa came like a wrecking-ball through the inside shoulder of the tackle, dragging him into the guard. With Bosa occupying both linemen, Ingram looped around the outside untouched to bring down Smith for a big loss of 11 yards. This sack was arguably the most important of the three as it ended their drive and gave the Chargers the ball back after the intermission down seven points. Finally, Ingram’s third sack came in the middle of the fourth quarter with the Chiefs attempting to run out the clock. Once again in a wide-9, Smith noticed the 1-on-1 matchup with Schwartz and decided to motion tight end Travis Kelce over to the right in order to give the tackle some help.Plot twist: It didn’t help.Even with Ingram almost falling over due to him timing the snap incorrectly, his get-off was still too fast for the athletic Kelce as Ingram simply ran the hoop around the tight end until he found Smith five yards deep in the pocket. The Chargers eventually went on to give up one more score and ceded their seventh-straight game to Andy Reid and the Chiefs. However, the fans still got to see prime-time Melvin in what amounted to be the most dominant performance by a Charger player from the 2017 season. After all they've been through, a two-touchdown deficit wasn't going to faze the Los Angeles Chargers."We've been rock-bottom Jerry Tillery Jersey Color Rush , so it's only up," running back Melvin Gordon said after the Chargers rallied for a 29-27 victory over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday."We know how to respond when we go down. We always feel like we got the players to be in the game, regardless of how much someone goes up."Gordon played a significant part in the comeback, rushing for 104 yards on 15 carries to go with his seven receptions for 55 yards and a touchdown. It is the sixth 100-yard rushing game of Gordon's career and his first since last Oct. 29 against New England."He ran outstanding. There are some times when he could have gone out of bounds but he stayed between the yard lines and made plays," coach Anthony Lynn said.Philip Rivers threw for 250 yards and three touchdowns as the Chargers improved to 2-2, the first time since 2015 that they are .500 after the first quarter of the season and a long way from their 0-4 start last season."It was good to see the resiliency of this team and how they bounced back. We played good, complementary football," Lynn said.Gordon and Austin Ekeler averaged 5.6 yards per carry against a Niners defense that was 10th against the run and allowing only 97 yards per game. It is the first time in 11 games that San Francisco had allowed a 100-yard rusher."Gordon was playing very well. He opened up in the second half," 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster said. The Chargers trailed 17-6 with 4:59 remaining in the second quarter then scored 20 straight points Jerry Tillery Los Angeles Chargers Jerseys , including 11 in the final 47 seconds of the first half to tie it at 17 at halftime.Caleb Sturgis had three field goals, including one from 21 yards with 7:41 left that gave the Chargers the lead, but he had an eventful day with two missed extra points.C.J. Beathard, who got the start for San Francisco (1-3) after Jimmy Garoppolo's season-ending knee injury, was 23 of 37 for 298 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. The last interception came with 2:38 remaining when Isaac Rochell picked off a pass intended for Alfred Morris at the Niners 19. The Chargers then ran out the clock."I thought he played well," Niners coach Kyle Shanahan said. "He played very tough. Made some great plays, especially in some of the situations. With a lot of guys going in and out, he handled a lot of adversity well and a little chaos due to injuries."Beathard's first TD toss of 2 yards to Kendrick Bourne gave the Niners a 14-0 lead with 3:53 remaining in the first quarter. His 82-yarder to George Kittle with 2:50 remaining in the third quarter helped end of run where they had three three-and-outs and an interception."It felt a lot more comfortable being out there and being in control. It definitely felt a lot more comfortable than last year," said Beathard Los Angeles Chargers Jerseys Stitched , who lost five of six starts last season.EXTRA-POINT WOESThe Chargers have missed eight PATs since the start of last season, which is the most in the league. Los Angeles has missed 10 extra points since the kick was moved back in 2015 and is one of eight teams in the league to have missed 10 or more.VERSATILE BACKSGordon and Ekeler each caught touchdowns, the first time the Chargers have had two running backs catch touchdowns since Jacob Hester and Darren Sproles did it on Nov. 22, 2010, against Denver.Ekeler's 22-yard reception on a go pattern drew the Chargers within 17-14 late in the second quarter. Gordon's 6-yard catch in the third quarter would give Los Angeles a 23-17 lead.Rivers, who was 25 of 39, completed passes to eight players with Gordon and Ekeler combining for nine receptions and 81 yards.MOVING ON UPRivers surpassed John Elway for the eighth-most yards in NFL history. He has 51,504 yards in his 15-year career while Elway had 51,475."Those are guys I had posters of on my wall Jerry Tillery Jersey 2019 , so just to be mentioned with them is definitely special," Rivers said.HELD IN CHECKSan Francisco's Matt Breida came in tied for the league lead in rushing (295 yards) but he was held to 39 yards on nine carries.Lynn said after the game that stopping the run was something they put extra emphasis on in practice all week.INJURIESNiners: Wide receiver Dante Pettis and left tackle Joe Staley suffered knee injuries. Staley's injury meant San Francisco had to reshuffle its offensive line, moving first-round pick Mike McGlinchey to left tackle and putting Garry Gilliam at right tackle.Chargers: Wide receiver Travis Benjamin, who missed the past two games due to a foot injury, did not play during the second half. He had a catch for 2 yards. Left tackle Russell Okung did not play in the second half due to a groin injury.Follow Joe Reedy at joereedy

Jacksonville Jaguars coach Doug Marrone might

JACKSONVILLE Youth Ereck Flowers Jerseys , Fla. (AP) — need to update his contact list.Marrone said Monday he finally spoke to star cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who is skipping voluntary workouts to stay closer to home, and seemingly cleared the air. Marrone said last week that he reached out to Ramsey and didn’t get a response. As it turned out, Marrone had the wrong number for the two-time Pro Bowl defender. It was the latest twist in a weeklong saga that included public shots from Tom Coughlin , Ramsey’s agent and the NFL Players Association.“Had a great talk,” Marrone said. “He’s training with his brother. He’s in Nashville. He’s spending time with his family. He said he’s going to come back in the best shape he’s ever been in and he’s all fired up. That was pretty much the conversation. It was a good conversation. I was concerned, obviously, because I was texting a number I thought was his and he wasn’t getting back to me.“I couldn’t figure out what was going on, so we kind of had a little laugh about it. Now I have the right number. He’s always had my number, so it’s good.”Marrone said he and retired NFL tight end Marcus Pollard, the team’s director of player development, both had the wrong number for Ramsey and didn’t realize it until after Coughlin ripped Ramsey and linebacker Telvin Smith for their absences. Marrone also said Ramsey had been in contact with his position coach, Tim Walton.Coughlin Ereck Flowers Jerseys Stitched , the team’s executive vice president of football operations, criticized Ramsey and Smith during the team’s state of the franchise presentation Thursday. He said “championship teams are dominated by selfless individuals who recognize that the welfare of the team must always be paramount to any other consideration.”“Success in the NFL demands struggle,” Coughlin added. “Those who have everything given to them become lazy, selfish and insensitive to the real values of team. The hard work that many try to avoid is the major building block for the development of an outstanding football team.“It’s not about rights and privileges. It’s about obligations and responsibility. And the question is, can we count on you? Doing things the right way all the time, we are what we repeatedly do. Excellence therefore is not an act, but a habit.”NFLPA President Eric Winston reacted by saying the Collective Bargaining Agreement’s definition of voluntary “is the same as the actual definition of voluntary and prohibits anyone from threatening players to participate in voluntary workouts.”Ramsey and his agent, David Mulugheta, responded on social media the following day.Coughlin backed down a bit Monday.“There’s really no need to speak any further on that one,” he said. “That was an open statement about my beliefs about what the offseason programs are about. That’s enough. You’re not going to get me to answer any more on that one.”Ramsey and Smith are the team’s only players who didn’t show up for the start of the team’s offseason program. Marrone said Monday he still hasn’t heard back from Smith, adding “he’s probably busy.”Marrone made it clear he views the workouts as voluntary.“I try to keep reminding myself that, and we appreciate the players that are here,” Marrone said. “That’s what you have to do. If you treat them like they should be here Josh Oliver Jacksonville Jaguars Jerseys , then that gets tough. The NFLPA collectively bargained that it’s a volunteer period, and those players have an option. And the ones that are here we appreciate and we’re working with them, trying to get them better.” When the Jaguars defense took the field at Arrowhead Stadium they came in as a collection gods. As a unit, a God. An immovable defensive force staring into the eyes of another God representing the power of an unstoppable offensive force. When the smoke cleared, the defensive God was dead. Long live the offensive God! Points, yards, and efficiency of work rate had left the Jaguars defense bloodied. The likes of Jalen Ramsey could tout their individual success, A. J. Buoye and Tashaun Gipson left with tokens from their enemy, but the sum of the parts had been halted. But is this death too dramatic? Is a better framing to say the defense was wounded? Death is the end of the season, yet something had died. So what then of this death? Who has the power to perform the act of taking the life from this thing? This subject. It is the fan. The critic. The outcome surely concludes the Jaguars are in fact not a defensive God. Mike DiRocco, Jaguars beat writer for ESPN, framed this for us in his pre-game article titled “Immovable Jaguars D braced for Chiefs’ unstoppable offense”. He closes with:The writers here at Big Cat Country reflected how we saw this defense. Too good. Dare we say, elite. It was a feeling reflected from the Jaguars players themselves. What then do we make of this defense after the loss? We kill them. They myth that is this defensive God. We assert they did not do enough to win. We lay Jacksonville Jaguars Jerseys 2019 , at their feet, the responsibility afforded to a God.Why?Easiest question to answer. The very act of comparing them to historical defensive icons is the response. Chicago Bears. Baltimore Ravens. Defenses that refused movement. And when they, the Jagauars, are moved, are wounded, we realize they are mortal. They are Xerxes. How close are you to calling me out for hyperbole? Careful. Did you not read the pre-game articles prior to the Jets game, asking how Sam Darnold would fare against the Jaguars elite defense? And then Alfie asked:Now we are asking the right question. What does elite mean? Does it mean you slow down the most efficient offense so that they are forced into field goals instead of touchdowns? Kansas City scored a touchdown on their first drive (and yes that drive was dominant), then were forced into three straight field goals. They didn’t score another touchdown early in the 4th quarter. The defense intercepted Mahomes twice, the first a turnover that could very easily have changed the tone of the game. Sadly the Jaguars fumbled the ball away immediately. So I ask again, what makes a defense elite? Must you completely shut down a dominant offense? There is nothing insane about this question, nor is it setting too high of a standard. How do you define a God? Is there no stone it cannot move? When the Jaguars lost to the Titans 9-6 the thinking was clear. The defense limited the Titans offensively. Holding a team under 10 points is a good standard for being elite, but in fairness what Tennessee offers is no where near how the Chiefs level their opponents. Is yielding 23 points versus the best offense in the league similar to yielding 9 points to one more pedestrian?Another phrase has been used it the context of the Jaguars defense: Good enough to win. By that I mean, “The Jaguars lost Womens Josh Oliver Jersey , but the Jaguars defense played good enough to win.” This can be true for either an elite or just a dominant defense. It is beyond obvious that the Jaguars defense played good enough to win. It is hard to overcome five turnovers and questionable play calling that saw the offense turn the ball over on downs inside the Chiefs’ five yard line.So do you know what the standards are for an elite defense? The Baltimore Ravens defense of the 2000 season is considered one of the greatest of all time. During that season the Ravens lost a total of four games. The offense scored 6, 3, 6, and 6 points respectively while the defense yielded 19, 10, 14, and 9 points. For the entire season the defense gave up more than 20 points only three times. One of those games you might remember. In week two the Jaguars were steam rolling the Ravens, and Jimmy Smith was at lead with a career receiving game. Unfortuately the Jaguars failed to hold the lead, giving up a late touchdown to tight end Shannon Sharpe. The Ravens won that game 39-36.What of this god we have killed with our pens for blades, and our words for daggers? Appreciate the context within which we judge. If the offense is even 50% more efficient what does that do to how the game is managed by both teams? It is more than just a thought experiment, it speaks to the very relationship dynamic that occurs on a football field. The one feeds off the other.Truthfully, I expected more from the Jaguars this past Sunday. However, upon reflection it occurred to me I had failed to set a standard for what it means to be elite. Can an elite defense have a game in which they appear to be “good enough”? The answer would appear to be “yes”. Does being elite require you to dominate every team you play? The answer is surely “no”.The problem may be that elite is being equated with perfect. We may find that today Cheap Josh Oliver Jersey , in Jerry’s World, the Jaguars defense we expected to see last week shows up.Yes it is against lesser competition, but so what? An elite defense will learn, adjust, and return to form regardless of the opponent. Take seriously this question. What makes an elite defense? Then ask yourself, what must be done to take that label away? Being frustrated our standards of what we expect from them may in fact drop them down in rating, but until the mirror turns upon us, and our standards, we should be careful about absolute claims. It would wise to consider this game played by mortal men.If God is dead, and we have killed it, maybe it was a false God. Maybe its death was needed because it was a God we created, and not God itself. We have at least eleven more games to decide.

The Falcons schedule is out!The schedule dropped, and as you’d expect, it’s an interesting slate. The Falcons have a lot of games against the AFC and some genuine contenders early in the year before their bye carries them into a stretch that features five consecutive NFC South games. It’s not an easy schedule, but I do think it’s a manageable one if this team’s talent upgrades to this point (to say nothing of the draft) wind up being significant. Also the Falcons’ schedule release announcement on Twitter was a delight:A wild John Wetzel appears The Falcons love to tinker with the roster, and they’ve shown real dedication to plugging holes ahead of the draft to afford them some flexibility. That’s why it’s hardly shocking that they finally added a tackle.John Wetzel isn’t a huge name, but he’s a versatile David Montgomery Chicago Bears Jerseys , veteran lineman who has 24 games of starting experience at both guard and tackle. As the last man on the line, which he’s likely competing to be, that experience makes him a solid fit. Cornerback to Atlanta building steam? Look, there’s not too many of us who are enamored with the idea of the Falcons taking a cornerback with the 14th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, but we can’t rule it out. It’s also a little disconcerting to see more draft analysts awarding the team a corner at 14, including NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah. On one hand, Greedy Williams is such a Falcons player it’s almost hilarious, as he’s a cornerback with length out of LSU. On the other hand, cornerback doesn’t loom as the team’s biggest need at the moment, and they’d need to move a player or at least significantly shift playing time to make way for a rookie corner. Knowing this team as we do, though, it’s not fair to rule it out.Julio Jones’s low-key skip A year ago Julio Jones elected to miss most of the team’s offseason workouts, but the two sides struck a temporary deal and promised to address his contract this offseason. Julio’s not going to voluntary workouts again, but has said he’ll be present for mandatory minicamp. Unless the tone and tenor of negotiations changes drastically, this is not a big deal. Julio had a stellar season in 2018 despite working out on his own and both sides seem very optimistic about this deal getting done and getting done amicably. Note this milestone, in other words, but don’t sweat it.

Early Monday morning Trevor Williams Jerseys 2019 , Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller released his latest three-round mock draft for all 32 teams. Early Monday morning, Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller released his latest three-round mock draft for all 32 teams. It’s definitely one of the more interesting mock drafts I’ve seen this off-season for the Chargers, that’s for sure.Is it realistic? My gut says, “Absolutely not.” But who knows. Crazier things have happened. So without further ado, here’s what the good people over at Bleacher Report gave to the Bolts in rounds 1-3.Round 1 - Pick #28: WR AJ Brown, Ole MissSo right out the gate this pick is a head-scratcher. The Chargers just used a first round selection in 2017 on Mike Williams and drafted Dylan Cantrell in the sixth-round last year, on top of signing back Geremy Davis and Artavis Scott early in free agency. With major needs on either side of the trenches plus two of their three linebacker spots, this pick makes close to zero sense. Here is what Miller had to say about the selection:Brown’s 6-foot-0, 226-pound build is more reminiscent to a fullback than that of a wide receiver who finds most of his success out of the slot. He has some of the best intangibles in the class and those hands are something else. He absolutely snatches the ball out of the air and every time he does White Desmond King Jerseys , I can’t help but imagine him saying “mine” under his breath. My Take: In the end, I really wouldn’t mind Brown getting the chance to catch balls from Philip Rivers, but there are just too many other glaring issues across the roster.Round 2 - Pick #60: CB Joejuan Williams, VanderbiltAgain, this is another pick at a position that just doesn’t fix any immediate need. If cornerback was the right call, Williams would actually fit the mold of the taller, lengthier cornerbacks that Gus Bradley likes to enlist in his defense. At 6-foot-4 and 211 pounds, Williams might have you thinking, “That’s just too dang tall for a corner” and you might be right Desmond King Jerseys 2019 , but you can’t argue with production in the SEC. As a junior, Williams was named a Second-Team All-SEC selection after collecting 61 tackles, two tackles-for-loss, four interceptions, and 14 pass breakups.Across from Hayward, Williams would be an extremely intimidating presence as he can minimize throwing windows and give opposing quarterbacks a little something extra to think about before pulling the trigger. My Take: Still so many more needs to fill in the first few rounds. Williams would be really cool to see in Bradley’s defense but this just isn’t the year to take a cornerback this early when the team has stated on several occasions that they like the young, developmental guys on the team already, like Michael Davis and Brandon Facyson. Plus Trevor Williams still has the opportunity to rebound from a year in Lynn’s dog house.Round 3 - Pick #92: QB Tyree Jackson, BuffaloThis is pick is very interesting White Adrian Phillips Jerseys , given that Lynn has enjoyed working with developmental quarterbacks who have tremendous physical gifts and upside. At a true 6-foot-7 and 250 pounds, Jackson ran an alarming 4.59 forty at the combine this month. His mobility in the pocket is more than apparent but that’s not solely where he hangs his hat. With one of the largest arms in the draft, some comparing it to last year’s first round selection of the Buffalo Bills, Josh Allen, Jackson can bide time in the pocket before launching one into orbit to a receiver 65+ yards down the field.`However, the third round is far too rich for me, even with his physical gifts. If it were another round or two later, maybe. My Take: I just can’t get behind it, especially with the first two picks also going towards positions that aren’t in the top-3 of team needs. With the 200th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft Adrian Phillips Jerseys 2019 , the Los Angeles Chargers selected outside linebacker Emeke Egbule out of the University of Houston. At 6-foot-2 and 245 pounds, Egbule offers a wealth of..." />Skip to main contentclockmenumore-arrownoyesHorizontal - WhiteBolts From The BlueBolts From The Blue, a Los Angeles Chargers communityLog In or Sign UpLog InSign UpFanpostsFanshotsSectionsChargersOddsAboutMastheadCommunity GuidelinesStubHubMoreAll 322 blogs on Horizontal - WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections San Diego Chargers Daily LinksSan Diego Chargers NewsSan Diego Chargers OffseasonSan Diego Chargers HistorySan Diego Chargers HumorFiled under:Latest NewsLos Angeles Chargers NewsChargers PlayersWhy the Chargers selected Houston LB Emeke Egbule at #200New,13commentsPDTShareTweetShareShareWhy the Chargers selected Houston LB Emeke Egbule at #200Photo by Thomas B. Shea/Getty ImagesWith the 200th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Chargers selected outside linebacker Emeke Egbule out of the University of Houston. At 6-foot-2 and 245 pounds, Egbule offers a wealth of versatility for a sixth-round pick. Due to playing on the outside in H-Town, Egbule’s role with the Chargers’ defense looks to be at the LEO defensive currently held by Melvin Ingram. Uchenna Nwosu was drafted last year to provide depth at the position and with Kyle Emanuel retiring this offseason, Egbule looks to now add some more depth. His size will allow him to play up on the line of scrimmage and maybe some off-ball linebacker if they feel he can create some competition for Jatavis Brown. In his final year with the cougars, Egbule totaled 69 stops White Michael Schofield Jerseys , 5.5 tackles-for-loss, two sacks, two interceptions, five pass breakups, four fumble recoveries, and two forced fumbles.
