Blake Bortles as the team’s starting quarterback Landry Jones Jerseys 2019 , rather than give backup Cody Kessler a shot against the Philadelphia Eagles in London on Sunday. The move was a surprise to many, but realistically it didn’t seem like the team would make that kind of a switch right now.As I mentioned on Monday when Marrone said the position was “open” during his press conference, despite the fact that I thought they should move on and start Kessler on Sunday, I didn’t think they’d actually do it.Low and behold, they didn’t.So why did the Jaguars ultimately decide to stick with Blake Bortles?Season isn’t overWhen you take a step back and look at the situation, the Jaguars are still 3-4 and a game back in a wide open AFC South. Blake Bortles is an overall better player than Cody Kessler and right now the team is just trying to end a three-game losing streak and win the game in front of them. It makes sense you go back to the devil you know and hope you can mitigate his shortcomings now that running back Carlos Hyde can get a full week of game prep. And if you’re just trying to win one game, the dice roll with Bortles is probably the better play.London has to be a factorI think the fact that the game is in another country this weekend does have something to do with it. Bortles has made the London trip multiple ways and know show to handle the abnormal week and travel while still preparing as the starting quarterback. Making the switch to Kessler on the same week you change everything for international travel is a large under taking and if nothing else, NFL coaches like what they’re familiar with.Outside resistance While I don’t necessarily believe there is some mandate from Dave Caldwell dictating that Bortles has to start, I think it would be naive not to think the team is going to try to get everything they can out of Bortles and be absolutely sure before they make a complete starting quarterback change. You also have to factor in that you just paid Bortles and it’s tough to eat that deal just seven games into the first year of it. That’s just how the NFL has always worked and doing otherwise right now would be a franchise quickly admitting a huge mistake and that just doesn’t happen. Now, if Bortles struggles again on Sunday and keeps turning the ball over I do believe he will be yanked once again and with the bye week the following week, it would be the perfect time to make that kind of drastic change. As draft day becomes closer Black Cedric Ogbuehi Jerseys , speculation on what the Jaguars will do, and what they should do comes out more rapidly. In the past few days, with Telvin Smith absent from the team’s voluntary OTAs, many are wondering if the team should trade Smith. I’m perplexed by thosewhose answer is not automatically no. There many layers to this Cedric Ogbuehi Jerseys 2019 , but let’s start off with this fundamental question. Does trading Smith making the Jaguars better in 2019? The answer to that question is no. Everything the Jaguars’ brass has said and done points to them wanting to contend for the playoffs in 2019. Trading one of your starting linebackers—when you don’t really have an adequate replacement and you lack depth at the position—does not help the team become better for this season. And yes, I know that Jake Ryan could be a replacement for Smith. However, Ryan is still coming off a major injury and is a slow, plodding, run-stopping linebacker—not necessarily a guy you want as a coverage linebacker playing every down. Also, by trading Smith, your depth at linebacker becomes Leon Jacobs, Blair Brown, Nick DeLuca, and Donald Payne. None of those guys inspire confidence that they could step in to play at the high level needed for this defense to dominate opponents. If the Jaguars considered making this move in earlier in free agency, when there were still players who could have reasonably replaced Smith Black Chris Conley Jerseys , it would make some sense. Now, you’re stuck with adding “leftover” free agents, who probably wouldn't add much more than depth to the team, or reaching for a player in the draft and creating another hole on your roster. While Smith struggled last season, the Jaguars are still at their best when he and Myles Jack are both on the field, using their speed and athleticism to make plays. Smith and Jack together form one of the better linebacking duos in the league. One also has to look at the financial impact of trading Smith in this equation. According to Spotrac.com, Smith’s cap hit on the Jaguars books is about $12.5 million this season. If the Jaguars were to trade him before June 1, Smith would count for$13.4 million against the Jaguars’ cap. Basically, it would cost more to move Smith right now than to keep him. So there is no financial incentive to deal Smith right now if you are the Jaguars. With Myles Jack eventually due to get paid, could someone convince me that paying two off-ball linebackers upwards of $10 million a year each is potentially a bad investment? Maybe, but that is a problem better dealt with in 2020 Chris Conley Jerseys 2019 , when getting out of Smith’s deal would be less of a pain, with a dead cap hit of $5.6 million dollars, resulting in about $7 million in savings. There also is the question of how much value the Jaguars could get for Smith right now, which is lower than most people would think.I could see a team trading, at most, a 4th rounder for Smith. When you combine the fact that Smith is an undersized weak-side linebacker and makes premium money for one, I doubt many teams would be interested in taking him. Add in the fact that Smith is coming off a down year and it is clear this is not the time to trade him. Just like selling stocks it’s usually a bad idea to try to make a deal when a player’s value is low. Trading Smith as he’s coming off of his worst season in the last four years is not the best way for the Jaguars to manage their assets. Whether you believe in this stuff or not, Smith is a leader in the Jaguars locker room and one of the most respected players on the team. He has the voice of a star because of his pro bowl status, but can also reach out to the younger players because he was also a former 5th round pick. Suffice it to say, a lot of players in the Jaguars’ locker room would be pretty pissed off about moving on from Smith. With a locker room that already seems to have some bad vibes toward the front office, pissing them off even more doesn’t exactly sound like the best idea. Just imagine how the best possible scenario plays out for the Jaguars. They trade away Smith for a 4th round pick. Eat his $13 million in dead money. Weaken their linebacking corps in 2019 Black A. J. Cann Jerseys , and take away not only one of the leaders in the locker room, but a fan favorite who is one of the longest tenured players on the roster. To me, none of it would make sense. Who knows? Maybe Smith will fall off even more this season. But I would rather bank on him improving his stock and seeing what my options are next off-season, than trading him at his lowest value and getting nothing back of significant value in the process. The Jaguars are not a good enough team to consider trading off their good players. This team has enough holes, and creating another one is exactly the opposite of what the team needs. The Jaguars will be a better team if Smith is on the field in 2019. For a team that went all in for a quarterback that can help them win now, trading away one of your key contributors would make absolutely no sense. For what its worth, I don’t think the Jaguars will actually do this. But it blows my mind that people see this as a reasonable option, when at this very moment it should not be.

Who is your..."In our last WCG Chicago Bears’ Offseason Roundtable topic, we asked you guys to give us your least favorite (non-Packer) player, so this time out we want to take it a positive spin. Who is your favorite non-Bears player and why?We couldn’t just ask, ‘Who is your fav player?’ because we would have had several Macks, Trubiskys, Howards, Akiems, etc. littering the comment thread, so we had to take the Bears out of the equation. Here’s how we answered.Joe Thomas play football before he retired (seriously, go find some Thomas tape White Mike Ditka Jerseys , he was a beast), but since he’s gone I’ll go with Russell Wilson. I’ve always liked watching mobile QBs play the game, and Wilson is fun to watch.Sam Householder: I enjoy watching a lot of different guys play. I gravitate towards guys that played in the Mid-American Conference, since I went to a MAC school. Until he went full-on diva, I enjoyed Antonio Brown. Of course I pull for Ball State guys like Willie Snead. But the one player I’ve really loved watching since he was in college is Russell Wilson. He’s so much fun to watch. I think his game is Trubisky’s ceiling and I think that he is quickly becoming one of the best QBs in the league. Robert Schmitz: Jay Cutler Tony Romo. Hey, you didn’t make me pick a current non-Bears player! As a closet Cowboy fan, I always admired the way that both Romo and Cutler endured criticism regardless of who was actually making mistakes. They’ve always seemed fairly similar while wildly different; after all, Tony had all of Dallas claiming “he sucks! He’s the reason we suck!” after throwing for 506 yards in a game and ending a 51-48 contest (in which he got no rush support) with an interception. While Romo was never elite, he was consistently the reason that Dallas was good enough to stay 8-8 for a decade and I respect that. He’s also a heck of a broadcaster.Erik Christopher Duerrwaechter: Drew Brees. For a QB that not a lot of teams wanted strictly because of his size and physical traits, and a man that had to fight for his career to be salvaged, he’s made himself into a first-ballot Hall of Fame player. He does so much for his community and organizations across the country Mike Ditka Jerseys 2019 , too. People felt his career could be coming to an end when he tore his ACL and eventually was replaced by Phillip Rivers. He proved otherwise. To this day I feel the Chargers made a huge mistake replacing Brees with Rivers. Yeah, yeah, the difference in terms production hasn’t been significant on paper. But Brees is capable of winning Super Bowls; Rivers rarely wins playoff games. That’s the distinction between the two. Jacob Infante: Aaron Donald. In my opinion, he is the most dominant player in the NFL at any position. He is a freak athlete who does just about everything perfectly, and he’s just so much fun to watch. Patrick Mahomes is a close because he’s so wickedly talented, but I’d like to see another season or two out of him before he secures a top spot.Jeff Berckes: Lots of contenders with University of Iowa players always getting a bump for representing the state. That goes for my fellow University of Northern Iowa grad David Johnson too. Outside of that, there are a ton of players I like but my favorite is probably Keenan Allen - I think he’s the best route runner in football and I find his game fascinating to watch. WhiskeyRanger: Give me Todd Gurley. Sure, some of it is that offense... but I’ll be damned if he’s not exciting to watch (when he’s not being shut down by the Bears that is). Every time he touches the ball, you lean forward just a little bit. That’s the sign of an player that’s fun to watch.Josh Sunderbruch: Khalil Mack. I’ve always admired his game...wait, no, he’s a Bear now. Honestly White Tom Waddle Jerseys , at this point, Mahomes. Kid seems like he’s loving the game. Ken Mitchell: This one is dead easy for me as well, Larry Fitzgerald is the guy. Fitzgerald has everything... Hall Of Fame talent, “wow” skills, outstanding character, work ethic, the whole package. If you were going to show an NFL rookie how to be a player for 10 years or more in this league, the perfect role model would be Larry Fitzgerald. Now it’s your turn. Give us your favorite player that doesn’t play for the Bears. Also, be sure to peruse the entire WCG roundtable to catch up on topics you may have missed. The Broncos have named Ed Donatell as their defensive coordinator.Donatell, who has 28 years of NFL experience, worked with Broncos head coach Vic Fangio in Chicago the past four seasons. Donatell served as the Bears’ secondary coach while Fangio worked as Chicago’s defensive coordinator. The two also worked together in San Francisco from 2011-14.“Ed’s been an integral part of top-10 defenses for six of the last eight seasons in two different places Tom Waddle Jerseys 2019 , and he’s a great fit to be our defensive coordinator,” Fangio said in a statement. “Having worked very closely with him for a number of years, Ed has a strong understanding of the entire defense from the front end to the back end with the defensive backs being his specialty. He’s a very good teacher and believes in the fundamentals in the classroom and on the field. We’re thrilled to add Ed to our coaching staff and welcome him back to the Broncos.”In Chicago, Donatell coached a pair of first-team All-Pro selections in cornerback Kyle Fuller and safety Eddie Jackson. Donatell returns to coach the Broncos for the third time in his career. He previously coached Denver’s secondary from 1995-99, winning two Super Bowl rings, and again from 2009-10.

Read more…Low-Key NFL free agency moves that could have a big impact in 2019 - Michael RennerThe reason for the deal couldn’t be more obvious, as no player has struggled with injuries more in recent NFL history. In five seasons, Verrett has managed all of 1,266 snaps. New Steelers corner Steven Nelson played 1,308 last year with the Chiefs including the playoffs. In his lone ‘full’ season back in 2015 though Los Angeles Chargers Jerseys 2019 , Verrett earned a 90.9 coverage grade. Not counting his rookie year where he was only targeted six times, Williams’ overall grades since 2016(75.6, 62.0, and 65.9) aren’t particularly strong but he has shown the ability to gain big chunks of yards down the field.Re-grading the 2018 NFL draft: Mel Kiper on the best, worst rookie classes - Mel Kiper Jr. (insider)The Chargers didn't get a ton from the rest of the class -- one to mention is Uchenna Nwosu Youth Cortez Broughton Jersey , who had 3.5 sacks in the regular season and a huge strip sack in the playoff win over the Ravens -- but James being an elite defender means I can't drop them far. I also like the potential of Kyzir White, who played some linebacker as a rookie as L.A. was hit with injuries.Extension Candidate: Melvin Gordon - Rory ParksGM Tom Telesco has said that he is open to considering an extension for Gordon — who is entering the final year of his rookie deal — this offseason, per Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times. However, Telesco indicated he didn’t have a timetable for a new deal, and given that there have not been any public reports concerning an extension, it may not happen until the summer at this point.Social Media Information:BFTB Facebook Page: Click here to like our pageBFTB Twitter: Follow @BFTB_ChargersThe Lightning Round Twitter: Follow @Lightning_RoundThe Lightning Round Facebook: Click here to like our pageBFTB Manager: Richard Wade: Follow @RichardWadeLos Angeles Chargers safety Jaylen Watkins tears ACL In typical Chargers fashion, another (possibly) key player has suffered a season-ending injury. This injury was sustained by Safety Jaylen Watkins. Watkins has reportedly torn his ACL Cortez Broughton Jersey Color Rush , per Ian Rapaport. This is the third player that has suffered this injury for the Chargers, with the first two being tight ends Hunter Henry and Austin Roberts. He is also the second defensive back to be out for the season after cornerback Jason Verrett tore his Achilles on the first day of camp. Things are not looking good on the injury front for the team. The injury occurred when Melvin Ingram fell onto the leg of Watkins during the Chargers’ 24-14 preseason win over the Seattle Seahawks last night. This game saw Watkins start the game at free safety, this being his first start for the team. Watkins signed with the team this offseason after being waived by the team that used a fourth round pick on him in 2014, the Philadelphia Eagles. In 2017, he played under a one year deal with the reigning Super Bowl champions, playing in 12 of the team’s 16 regular season games. He was in the competition for the team’s starting free safety position with players like Jahleel Addae and Rayshawn Jenkins. Watkins’ unfortunate injury takes who was perhaps leading the competition, given the fact that he started last night’s game Womens Cortez Broughton Jersey , out of the equation. The free safety position was already one of the team’s most glaring holes that needed to be filled, that need now becomes even more stressed. Expect to see Watkins placed on the Injured Reserve list in the coming days, with there also being a chance the team brings in another player to compete for the spot that Watkins will now be vacating.

(Click here for NFL Week 7 picks without regard to the spread.)Here are suggestions when trying to beat the odds. unders via SB Nation. My season record so far is 35-56-2 after going 6-8-1 last week. Woof. It’s just not my year.NFL Week 7 GamesTennessee Titans at Los Angeles Chargers (-7): The Titans have scored two offensive touchdowns outside of their Week 4 game against a struggling Eagles secondary. Two! That’s bad. The Chargers, meanwhile, appear to be hitting their stride. Easy choice here. PICK: Chargers -7New England Patriots (-3) at Chicago Bears: Are you comfortable betting on Mitchell Trubisky over Tom Brady? I’m not. And I don’t think you should be. PICK: Patriots -3Cleveland Browns at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-3.5): I think the Bucs are bound to bounce back from their losing streak here. Maybe firing Mike Smith strikes some urgency in the league’s worst defense. Also think the Browns, while improved, are far from a sure bet on the road like this. PICK: Buccaneers -3.5Carolina Panthers at Philadelphia Eagles (-5): The Eagles have some notable advantages heading into this matchup: extra rest (last played on October 11), home field (17-3 in last 20 meaningful games), and an officiating crew that’s been favorable to them in the past. The Eagles’ win over New York in Week 6 felt like Philly declaring that they’re back. They have a chance to prove they’re truly on the right track this Sunday and I think they will. PICK: Eagles -5Minnesota Vikings (-3.5) at New York Jets: There’s upset potential here. The Jets have been playing well in recent weeks. New York ranks higher than Minnesota in DVOA. But I’d like for Kirk Cousins to lose so I’ll happily try to jinx the Vikings. PICK: Vikings -3.5Detroit Lions (-3) at Miami Dolphins: Are you really counting Brock Osweiler to have another “good” game? Maybe I should, being that it’s Brocktober and all, but I don’t know. Detroit could be well-rested off the bye and it’s not like Miami has a fierce home crowd. PICK: Lions -3Buffalo Bills at Indianapolis Colts (-7.5): Maybe the Bills won’t stink AS bad with Derek Anderson at quarterback instead of Josh Allen? I’ll give it a shot. PICK: Bills +7.5Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars (-4.5): The Jags’ pass rush will bounce back against Houston’s offensive line Jason Peters Jerseys 2019 , which is arguably the worst in the league. PICK: Jaguars -4.5New Orleans Saints at Baltimore Ravens (-2.5): This has the makings of a really good one. It should be fun to watch the Ravens’ defense against the Saints’ offense. New Orleans is really tempting when they’re getting points. Maybe Joe Flacco looks like a pumpkin with Halloween right around the corner. PICK: Saints +2.5Dallas Cowboys at Washington Redskins (-1): The Cowboys are 5-0 at FedEx Field since 2012. Will history repeat itself? It’s a tough call. These teams seem pretty evenly matched (hence the line). The Cowboys just edge Washington in the DVOA battle, 20 to 22. I guess I’ll go with what’s worked in the past. PICK: Cowboys +1Los Angeles Rams (-10) at San Francisco 49ers: The 49ers hung tough in Green Bay. As a result, it’s tempting to pick them against the Rams, who’ve played down to the level of their competition in the past two weeks. But I think LA is due for another big offensive performance. Totally not trying to jinx them, I swear. PICK: Rams -10Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs (-6): The Bengals are good but the Chiefs are really good. Kansas City has defensive issues, yeah, but why would you bet against that high-scoring Andy Reid offense? PICK: Chiefs -6New York Giants at Atlanta Falcons (-4): I don’t think the Falcons are as bad as their record suggests. They should figure to be the more desperate team here as they try to keep the season alive. The Giants, meanwhile, are cooked. PICK: Falcons -4Struggling Dak Prescott fumbles game away as Cowboys start season 0-1 The Dallas Cowboys are 0-1 after losing to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday evening by a final score of 16 to 8.Dallas had a chance to drive the field and try to send the game into overtime but Dak Prescott fumbled the Cowboys’ chances away. It wasn’t a good outing for Prescott Miles Sanders Philadelphia Eagles Jerseys , who finished 19/29 for only 170 yards (5.9 average), zero touchdowns, zero interceptions and a 81.1 passer rating. Those numbers don’t even truly reflect his struggles. He totally failed to help the Cowboys move the ball during key moments. Dallas converted just two out of 12 combined third and fourth down situations. In fairness to Prescott, it’s not like he had Sean Lee and Ezekiel Elliott.Oh, wait, he did.Seriously, though, the struggles weren’t ALL his fault. Certainly the Cowboys don’t have A-plus coaching and their over-hyped offensive line has some issues. Rookie left guard Connor Williams is looking like a turnstile and backup center Joe Looney is certainly no Travis Frederick. Then there’s the fact Dallas doesn’t have a ton of amazing receiving options. Still, a true franchise quarterback is able to overcome adversity. To this point Philadelphia Eagles Jerseys 2019 , Prescott has never really proved the ability to do that. He had a great rookie year in 2016 when he had the perfect situation surrounding him. Since then, he’s struggled when things have been less than perfect.I mean, the guy has thrown ONE touchdown pass since Week 14 last year. Carson Wentz, who threw a touchdown pass on a torn ACL, and tight end Trey Burton also have the same amount of touchdown passes since then. Yeldon and Donte Moncrief make NFL.com’s Top 101 free agents list for 2019Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY SportsAs we move into NFL Combine week, the focus is not only the NFL Draft, but also the upcoming free agency period. To help us keep track of all of the top players set to hit the open market (or be franchise tagged) NFL.com’s Gregg Rosenthal and Chris Wesseling put together their top 101 free agents list of 2019. Two current (and two former) Jaguars were named. Running back T.J. Yeldon (No. 90) and wide receiver Donte Moncrief (No. 93) just barely made the cut. Yeldon is the seventh running back on the list, while Moncrief is the 12th-ranked wide receiver. Here is what the NFL.com staff had to say about each player: T.J. Yeldon: As noted, Yeldon has been a lot more productive than many may realize. This past year he did an admirable job filling in for Leonard Fournette — who missed several games due to injury or suspension. Despite playing with a depleted offensive line, Yeldon gained 901 total yards (414 rushing yards and 487 receiving yards) this season and scored five touchdowns. He averaged four yards per carry and caught 55 passes at a 70.5 percent catch rate. While teams aren’t likely to look at him as a featured back (a role he struggled with early in his career), his value on third down as both a pass catcher and pass blocker will draw interest on the open market. Some team with more cap space is likely to give him a better contract offer than the Jaguars, so I would not expect to see him back in Jacksonville. Donte MoncriefAs mentioned above, Moncrief has the tools and potential to be a reliable wide receiver in this league Womens Josh Oliver Jersey , but it just hasn’t come together for him. In his defense, he’s had to play with a combination of Blake Bortles, Cody Kessler and Jacoby Brissett throwing him the ball the past two seasons. This season, the Jacksonville offense fell apart after the first quarter of the season and never really found its way after that. Moncrief caught 48 passes for 668 yards and three touchdowns this season. But outside of the first Indianapolis Colts matchup (Moncrief’s former team), he didn’t have many standout games or plays. He had a catch rate of just 59.3 percent (89 targets). Jacksonville gave Moncrief a rather hefty $9.6 million one-year contract last offseason. It would be really surprising to see Moncrief back in a Jaguars uniform during the 2019 season, however, another team should be willing to give him a shot in the open market. Other notes from the top 101 free agents: Dante Fowler Jr. checks into the list at No. 36. Rosenthal and Wesseling note that although Fowler’s combined sack numbers with the Jaguars and Los Angeles Rams were low, he was “a terror behind the line of scrimmage” late in the season. Former Jaguar Jason Myers is one of only three placekickers to make the list. Myers, who is coming off of a Pro Bowl season with the New York Jets, is No. 100 on the list. The Nick Foles to Jacksonville talk has been constant all offseason. He comes in at No. 9, and is the first quarterback listed. The top five free agents (in order) Cheap Josh Oliver Jersey , according to NFL.com’s list are DeMarcus Lawrence (edge), Jadeveon Clowney (edge), Grady Jarrett (defensive tackle), Le’Veon Bell (running back) and Dee Ford (edge). Lawrence, Clowney and Jarrett are likely franchise tag candidates, so it would be surprising to see them hit the open market. Eight of the top-10 players are from the defensive side of the ball, with Foles and Bell as the only offensive players listed. Other Jaguars whose contracts are set to expire at the start of the new year, but did not make the top 101 list, include A.J. Cann (offensive guard), Corey Grant (running back), Tyler Shatley (offensive guard) Black Josh Oliver Jersey , Tyler Patmon (cornerback), Tommy Bohanon (fullback), James O’Shaughnessy (tight end), Austin Seferian-Jenkins (tight end — Jaguars did not pick up 2019 option) and others. What do you think, are Yeldon and Moncrief likely to find new teams? Will the Rams retain Fowler? Are these players among the best available at their positions? Let’s talk about it in the comments section. In the most embarrassing performance since the last time the team met the Tennessee Titans in Nashville on a Thursday night, the Jaguars erased all goodwill left within the fan base after a shut..."In the most embarrassing performance since the last time the team met the Tennessee Titans in Nashville on a Thursday night, the Jaguars erased all goodwill left within the fan base after a shut out the prior Sunday against the Colts, dropping their only national prime time game to the Titans, 30-9.After a four week period in which the Jaguars defense seemed to regain it’s swagger and the dominance from the 2017 season, Todd Wash’s unit absolutely collapsed in the most absurd of fashion, allowing running back Derrick Henry to run like Earl Campbell as he accumulated over 200 yards and 4 touchdowns in less than three full quarters of play. That included perhaps the most atrocious defensive play in the franchise’s 24 year history Josh Oliver Jacksonville Jaguars Jerseys , when following a Jags turnover on downs at the Titans’ 1 yard line, the defense allowed Henry to cut off left tackle and abuse AJ Bouye and Leon Jacobs on his way to a 99-yard touchdown run. The play tied for the longest touchdown run in NFL history, and signaled the imminent end of the road for the Jags on the evening. The performance of the defense, that included multiple failed tackle attempts from the likes of Telvin Smith, DJ Hayen, Bouye, and really anyone on the field tonight, was so abhorent, that it could jeopardize the employment of the aforementioned Wash and perhaps Doug Marrone as well.On offense, Leonard Fournette’s return was less a return and more of a cameo, as the running back could get nothing going all night and frankly looked plodding and lacking of the energy we saw in Buffalo before his altercation. Quarterback Cody Kessler looked OK in his second start as a Jaguar Jacksonville Jaguars Jerseys Stitched , and appeared to find a rhythm at times with receiver Dede Westbrook. However, the points allowed by the defense were simply too much for an offense whose lack of any premier playmaker and true threat at the quarterback spot, were once again on display. The Jaguars loss marks the second consecutive season of being swept by the Titans, and brings them to 4-9 on the season with three games remaining and a long resting period before they face the Washington Redskins in the home finale’ on December 16th. It will also be a long period for some big questions to begin to be demanding of answers, with regards to the direction Shad Khan is going to want to go with his front office and coaching staff in 2019.

Their fanbases don’t like each other, so when the teams swapped safeties in free agency no one was surprised to see each side proclaim their new safety to be the better safety of the two. But which safety is better? And how do they fit into their defenses? I’ll attempt to answer these questions and more in this two-part film study! We’ll discuss Clinton-Dix and Amos as players in this article, part 1, before assessing how they fit into their new defenses in part 2. As usual, if the videos don’t show up on your platform simply look for the italicized portion of the paragraph, it’ll be a link to the video I’m referencing. Without any further ado, let’s get into it!Ha Ha Clinton-DixWatching HCD play the pass is, simply put, a lot of fun. He exhibits all the traits you’d expect of a true free safety, namely range and anticipation on deep throws like those shown here. When the ball is in the air, Ha Ha’s at his best.Pay close attention to Clinton-Dix’s hips at the release point of each throw and you’ll see what makes him so effective — Ha Ha’s big plays come from his ability to get his hips turned towards the intended receiver before the QB’s even finished throwing the ball. This is what “instinct” looks like, and it’s quintessential to making plays as a free safety. Ha Ha’s instincts make him dangerous. But the ball isn’t always in the air, and that’s bad news for Clinton-Dix. Whether he’s missing tackles outright Bobby Massie Jerseys 2019 , giving up extra yardage, or getting blocked into oblivion, Ha Ha rarely contributes positively against the run/short pass game. The play where Jason Witten blocks him from stopping a touchdown bothers me the most — Ha Ha doesn’t seem to make much of an effort to escape Witten’s grasp, and the Packers give up a touchdown because of it.HCD also tends to struggle when taking angles towards runners, often overrunning them altogether. While obviously not a good trait, this does help explain why HCD so rarely plays downhill — there’s no sense attacking an RB/WR downfield if you’re not confident you can finish the tackle. Regardless, his angles and tackling cost his defenses yards. All of this said, it should be noted that Ha Ha can still fill holes against the run (play 1) and actually plays quite well when moving laterally. He seems comfortable shuffling sideways, even taking on blocks well while doing so. He misses many less tackles from his shuffle too. This gives me the impression that Clinton-Dix’s tackling problems come primarily from situations where he has to attack downfield and that he becomes a much more consistent tackler when allowed to let the runner come to him.The Verdict: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix displays traits of a classic free safety, doing his best work with the ball in the air. He has experience playing single-high, two-deep and NCB, making him a versatile tool for Pagano to use. Tackling/downhill play is a legitimate concern, but his instinct in coverage and turnover generation skills go a long way towards making up for his poor tackling. Now let’s move on to...Adrian AmosLet’s start with what he’s best known for — reliable positioning and great form tackling. Amos plays fearless, active football and consistently meets runners as they breach the line. I love this last play because it highlights’ Amos tenacity when rallying to runners.Amos also has a reputation among Bears fans as being a lackluster cover safety, and that’s simply not fair. Amos does a great job covering anything in front of him White Akiem Hicks Jerseys , tracking short throws well and demolishing WRs at the catch point. He’s also sound in man-to-man coverage (play 3).Amos’s coverage struggles come in situations that ask for instinct rather than speed, namely deeper throws. The helmet-to-helmet hit on Ertz, for example, could’ve been avoided if he’d reached the sidelines quickly enough to play the ball. Instead, what should’ve been a 3rd down stop becomes a 1st down due to penalty.Instinct (or lack thereof) is a funny trait, and it’s one that’s certainly more visible on film than it is on a stat sheet. Amos’s tape is littered with plays like these that could’ve been INTs, but weren’t. His inability to generate takeaways is no-doubt his biggest “flaw”.It’s worth pointing out that this deep coverage issue is pretty much the only major flaw I see in Amos’s game, and I mean that as a compliment. Amos is positionally sound, covers well, attacks downfield, and can tackle both in a pile and the open field. He’s a very, very good player, and a great pick out of the 5th round. The Verdict: Adrian Amos has all the tools that make up a great box safety. He’s actually faster than Jackson/Clinton-Dix when it comes to sheer footspeed, but his utter lack of anticipation tends to make him look slower. He struggles with the nuances of deep coverage, often leaving him vulnerable to deeper sideline throws as well as lobs over the middle. But if you can protect him in coverage Akiem Hicks Jerseys 2019 , he’ll offer all of the run/short pass support you could ask for from a safety. As for who’s better? From a pure player perspective, I think it’s Amos. Jackson proved that a great free safety can cover his weaknesses, but you can’t cover for bad tackling. Every player on the defensive side of the ball is expected to tackle eventually, so I have little doubt that Clinton-Dix’s weakness will hurt the Bears regardless of the talent placed around him. Whether he’ll outright miss tackles or simply give up enough yardage to allow first downs is something I can’t predict because we don’t know his role in the defense yet. That’s the problem with evaluating “Ha Ha versus Amos” right now — we don’t know their defensive roles. Amos’s effectiveness will totally depend on whether he’s asked to play in the box versus playing deep coverage, and Ha Ha should spend as little time in the box as possible. We’ll cover what each defense generally looks like as well as a strategy I think the Bears may employ to help Ha Ha in part 2. 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman was one of three players ejected from Sunday’s game against the Bears after a melee on the Chicago sideline in the fourth quarter. The fight started when 49ers safety Marcell Harris hit Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky after Trubisky slid at the end of a run. Several Bears confronted Harris and 49ers players including Sherman came to his defense.Sherman exchanged punches with Bears wide receiver Josh Bellamy, who was ejected along with fellow wideout Anthony Miller.“I’m a grown man; you don’t grab, pull on me—I don’t put my hands on you, you don’t put your hands on me,” Sherman said, via Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com. “You put your hands on me, you’re gonna feel me.”Sherman said he felt Harris tried to avoid the hit and added that the Bears shouldn’t have Trubisky run “if you don’t want your quarterback getting touched.”

Which Chargers defensive player has stood out the most ?

Okay everyone White Melvin Gordon Jerseys , which defensive player has impressed you most through the first three weeks of the preseason?Jamie Sewell: I’m going for Hayes Pullard, partially because my expectations for him couldn’t have been much lower, but he’s looking like a competent NFL player. On Saturday, he was the quickest player on the field and flying towards the ball, which wasn’t something you could say for him last year. He didn’t deserve the snaps he got last season, but he looks in a much better position to contribute this year.Garrett Sisti: Uchenna Nwosu looks like a better player than he did in college and while most projected him to be somewhat raw, Nwosu has completely adapted to Gus’ system and has been so impressive in the preseason. Nwosu might have some shortcomings in coverage, but his overall play so far has been one of the best of any Chargers defender.Matthew Stanley: I think the drafted rookies, that have played Melvin Gordon Jerseys 2019 , as a whole have looked very good. Nwosu, Kyzir, and Derwin all have a chance to be big contributors this year and are going to transform this defense and take it to the next levelKyle Posey: defense has been weak as a whole, but Nwosu has been a pleasant surprise. He hustles his butt off and plays with good energy. Looking forward to seeing him with bosa and Ingram on the field at the same time. Early on, he’s much better than I expected.Jason Michaels: I will go with Derwin James for defense, not because he has been the best player through limited snaps, but because he made one of the biggest splash plays of the preseason, which helps stave off buyers remorse significantly. It’s nice to hear that the Chargers got a steal in the draft, and not because they settled for someone’s dirty laundry that was undervalued. He will be an impact player.Cole Thompson: Besides Desmond King White Philip Rivers Jerseys , Derwin James is my ROY, he can play so many roles for Gus Bradley’s defense, I expect him to line up pretty much all over the field depending on the formation.Jamie Hoyle: I’ll go under the radar and say, Isaac Rochell. While I thought Rochell would make the roster pretty easily, I didn’t expect him to have the preseason he had playing with the 1’s. He’s been making plays against the run and as a pass rusher, and it really looks like he has a chance to add some quality depth to the DL. A line that looked like it might have depth issues with the departure of Chris McCain now suddenly looks like it’s 5-deep off the edge (including Nwosu) and Rochell has been a big part of that.Mike Murray: I’m going with Kyzir White. Even though the LB depth was sketching to start with, he is a 4th round pick who is going to be starting Day 1 and making big plays.Daniel Stebbins: There are a few of the rookies that have really shown out in the preseason and in training camp, and I’m tempted to go with one of them. However, I’m going to pick Desmond King. Even knowing he had a fantastic rookie season Philip Rivers Jerseys 2019 , he looks to have taken another step up in his play this year. In practice, he stood out as always having great coverage or being in position to make a play/tackle. In games, it’s been more of the same. I feel he can be one of the top slot corners in the game if he continues to go at this rate, not bad for a fifth-round pick I’d say.Michael Peterson: Kyzir White is my pick after he’s been Mr. Consistent through the first three games of the preseason. He has lived up to his reputation as a sticky tackler and continues to bring a level of versatility needed for this defense to thrive.Ruben J. Gonzalez: I have been impressed with Uchenna Nwosu. I like his speed and his instincts he’s shown so far. I think he’s got so much more to learn and get better at that he’s gonna be a sneaky good pass rusher. Though most may have been down on draft day about grabbing him that early if he’s what he looks like he might be, a 2nd round selection might even be a steal.Which defensive player has stood out to you? Let us know in the comments. In a season when so many young quarterbacks have played so well, a couple of old veterans are about to square off in the playoffs. The Chargers are heading to New England to take on the Patriots, and that means 37-year-old Philip Rivers will take on 41-year-old Tom Brady. Their combined age of 78 is the oldest ever for two starting quarterbacks in an NFL postseason game.Brady also had a share of the previous record, set three years ago, when he was 38 and faced off against the 39-year-old Peyton Manning in the AFC Championship Game. There was once an even older pair of quarterbacks in a playoff game White Antonio Gates Jerseys , on January 3, 1971, when 37-year-old Johnny Unitas and the Baltimore Colts beat 43-year-old George Blanda and the Oakland Raiders. But although Blanda played almost the entire game, he came on in relief of the 29-year-old Daryle Lamonica, who started for the Raiders. So the record for starting quarterbacks belongs to Brady and Manning, and will be broken next weekend by Brady and Rivers.

Wentz led the Eagles on a first-possession touchdown drive and then another one that ate up nearly the entire fourth quarter to take the lead for good, and in between there were, as they say in the NFL, “teachable moments” for Wentz, nine and a half months removed from a season-ending knee injury. But by the time Monday afternoon rolled around, Wentz was on to the Tennessee Titans and studying a defense that has success because the players are talented, have great chemistry, and give quarterbacks different looks from one play to the next. It’s nothing fancy, by NFL standards, but it’s effective.Week 3 NFL Offensive Line Rankings - PFF3) There’s no shame in coming in third, especially with Jason Peters having missed some time again. When Jason Peters has been on the field Zach Ertz Jersey , he’s looked like his old self. He, Brandon Brooks and Jason Kelce all have pass blocking grades above 80.0 so far.How Alshon Jeffery’s expected return can help the offense - InquirerJeffery’s numbers can be better. Carson Wentz likes to spread the ball around and Ertz and Agholor are both going to get their share of targets and catches, so I don’t see Jeffery challenging for the receiving title. But watch him play, and what how defenses play the Eagles when he’s on the field. Agholor is averaging 7.3 yards per catch this season, which is five yards fewer per catch than last season. Part of that is because he can play in the slot and Jeffery commands the defense’s attention. ”If [Jeffery is] doubled, it leaves [Agholor and Ertz] singled and that helps them right there,” Pederson said. “I think just having those three guys together kind of feeding off one another, route combinations understanding concepts, helps Nelly and Zach and really helps Alshon.” The Eagles will look better if/when Jeffery is out there. Wentz’s return last week was key, but now Jeffery can bring them to another level.Jordan Mailata had never watched an NFL game ... until he joined the NFL - The GuardianJordan Mailata, a rookie football player in the truest sense of the word, suddenly reached into his locker and plucked out a thigh pad. Just four months ago, he had no idea which body part it was supposed to protect. “When I came into rookie minicamp, I said, ‘What are these?’” Mailata, the first-year Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle, tells the Guardian. “They said, ‘They’re your pads.’ I said http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-fletcher-cox-jersey , ‘Well, where do they go?’ They showed me the shorts, and they said, ‘They go here and here and here.’ And I was like, ‘Oh! Damn!’”Lack of playing time doesn’t bode well for Shelton Gibson - NBCSP“Right now, we’re just without getting into a lot of scheme stuff, we just felt better yesterday with some of our 12 personnel, some of our 13 personnel. Kept them in base defense. They did jump into nickel a little bit because then we were in our 12 and 13 personnel being able to run the football. So just the way the game kind of unfolded just a little bit. Shelton is a young player that’s continuing to grow and get better with the offense. We had a package of plays for him yesterday; just didn’t get to him.”Clutch Encounters: Week 3 - Football OutsidersThe Eagles would be 0-3 right now if not for their red zone defense. In the second half, Indianapolis had four drives reach the red zone, but kicked three field goals and had one turnover on downs. The Colts even started two drives inside the red zone after forcing Wentz turnovers, but failed to gain a first down on either opportunity. There were three drives in the third quarter where Luck delivered passes to Chester Rogers and two to Eric Ebron, but the receivers failed to make a play and produce a touchdown. None of the plays were horrific drops and there was a defender right there on both of Ebron’s attempts, but you would like to see at least one of these work out to reward Luck and the team.Rishard Matthews might be done with the Titans - Music City MiraclesMy guess here is that Rishard hasn’t been happy with his usage through the first 3 weeks of the season and things came to a head in some fashion today. The wording of his Instagram post sounds like he will be released by the Titans because that is the only way a team could call him and get him off the couch. There is little doubt in my mind that teams will call because he has been productive the last couple of years.Jack Conklin could make 2018 debut Sunday - PFTThe Titans hope to have right tackle Jack Conklin back in the lineup Sunday against the Eagles. Conklin was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice.Los Angeles Rams S Blake Countess named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week - Turf Show TimesIn you’re shaky on on the past of 25 year-old Blake Countess, he played his college ball at Michigan and was a sixth-round pick in 2016 by the Philadelphia Eagles and was later cut and picked up by the Rams (practice squad) before the 2016 season began. Countess is turning out to be a valuable role player for the Rams this season, providing much needed depth in the battered secondary as well as the special teams unit, which has also been plagued by injuries.Coming full circle: Tommy McDonald and Ray Didinger’s remarkable bond - The Athletic“He was my hero,” said Didinger, who served as McDonald’s presenter at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony. “Sometimes I have to take a step back to look at what’s happened to truly appreciate it. I really don’t know of anything else like this. It’s like our lives came full circle Womens Jake Elliott Jersey , over such a long span. I thought about writing a book, but somehow it became a play. It couldn’t have worked out any better.” But first, there was Canton, where McDonald delivered an acceptance speech for the ages in 1998. It was pure McDonald. Conventional it wasn’t. And that was the point, even if maybe it did go over the top a bit. He even tossed his bust in the air and caught it, to show that he still had great hands. And Didinger actually tried to talk him out of it, for all the right reasons. Good thing he lost the battle. The NFL’s Sudden Roughing-the-Passer Obsession Isn’t About Safety - The RingerWe can call the NFL’s new, awful emphasis on a particular brand of roughing-the-passer penalty the State Farm Rule. It was instituted to prevent injuries like the one that took out the Packers’ insurance-hawking quarterback, Aaron Rodgers; it has most famously penalized Rodgers’s Green Bay teammate and advertising costar, linebacker Clay Matthews.NFL picks 2018, Week 4: Packers, Patriots due for a rebound? - SB NationThe second hardest game to guess at is the Lions-Cowboys affair. Dallas’ offense is struggling, to say the least. The defense had been good, but Seattle gashed them last week with run after run after run. Now that the Lions officially have a running game, will they be smart enough to do the same? I’m just not sure which Lions team is going to show up from week to week, yet.Looks like the Eagles will be wearing midnight green on Sunday:...Social Media Information:BGN Facebook Page: Click here to like our pageBGN Twitter: Follow @BleedingGreenBGN Manager: Brandon Lee Gowton: Follow @BrandonGowtonBGN Radio Twitter: Follow @BGN_Radio Following their Friday practice in London, the Philadelphia Eagles released their third and final official injury report in advance of their Week 8 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Four Eagles players have been ruled OUT: running back Darren Sproles, cornerback Sidney Jones Derek Barnett Jersey , safety Corey Graham, and linebacker Nathan Gerry. Sproles hasn’t played since Week 1. Doug Pederson said he does expect the 35-year-old running back to return at some point this season. With Sproles out, the Eagles will continue to split carries among Wendell Smallwood, Corey Clement, and Josh Adams. If last week was any indication, Jones’ absence means Dexter McDougle will start at nickel cornerback once again. Avonte Maddox will remain at safety.Graham was the only one of the four “out” players to travel with the team to London, which might indicate he could return after the Eagles’ Week 9 bye. Or maybe he just wanted to go sight-seeing.Gerry has been out for a couple games now. Missing him doesn’t hurt the Eagles’ linebacker/special teams depth as much with D.J. Alexander returning to the field this week. For the second week in a row, Haloti Ngata is listed as questionable to play. Ngata was limited in practice all of last week before being inactive against the Panthers. Ngata was limited again on Wednesday and Thursday this week but he was a full participant on Friday. Perhaps Ngata will be back this Sunday. That’d be nice since the Eagles are very thin at defensive tackle. Lane Johnson and Jason Peters were limited in practice all week but they’re not listed on the final injury report.Carson Wentz was full go on Thursday and Friday after being limited on Wednesday for the second week in a row.Note that Derek Barnett was officially placed on the injured reserve list on Thursday evening. Rookie defensive end Josh Sweat should see a significant increase in playing time moving forward.PHILADELPHIA EAGLES INJURY REPORT (FRIDAY)OUTLB Nathan Gerry (ankle, knee)S Corey Graham (hamstring)CB Sidney Jones (hamstring)RB Darren Sproles (hamstring)QUESTIONABLEDT Haloti Ngata (calf)...RESERVE/PHYSICALLY UNABLE TO PERFORMS Chris MaragosRESERVE/NON-FOOTBALL INJURYDT Timmy JerniganRESERVE/INJUREDRB Jay AjayiCB Elie BoukaWR Mack HollinsS Rodney McLeodTE Richard RodgersWR Mike WallaceLB Paul WorrilowJACKSONVILLE JAGUARS INJURY REPORT (FRIDAY)The big takeaway from Jacksonville’s injury report is that the Jaguars will likely be without three of their top four cornerbacks against the Eagles. Star defensive back Jalen Ramsey will still be playing but the rest of the Jags’ corner situation is dicey. Starting cornerback A.J. Bouye is out. Nickel corner D.J. Hayden is doubtful. Hayden’s backup option, Tyler Patmon, is out. That leaves the Jags with just Tre Herndon, Quenton Meeks, and Dee Delaney at corner outside of Ramsey. All three of those guys are undrafted rookie free agents. They’ve played four snaps combined on defense this season. It goes without saying that the Eagles need to find a way to take advantage of this secondary. Jaguars starting running back Leonard Fournette is out, as expected. The No. 4 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft hasn’t been able to shake a hamstring injury he suffered in Week 1. With Fournette out, the Jags will likely pound the rock with the newly acquired Carlos Hyde. James O’Shaughnessy was starting at tight end with Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Niles Paul on injured reserve. But now that he’s out again, the Jags are down to their fourth and fifth string tight ends: David Grinnage and Blake Bell. Jacksonville Jaguars | Kyler Murray | QB | OklahomaThe last time Easterling did this Black A. J. Cann Jerseys , he had the Jaguars passing on a quarterback in the first round in favor of grabbing a better overall player at a less important position. They then went for Will Grier from West Virginia in the top of the second round. But now that Kyler Murray has declared for the NFL Draft, the Jaguars front office has a choice to make — do you take a chance on a guy who may be shorter than your prototypical quarterback, or do you wait again for the second tier guy in the next round?38. Jacksonville Jaguars | T.J. Hockenson | TE | IowaViewed as a third round talent in Easterling’s last mock draft, Hockenson is climbing the draft boards — and for good reason. You don’t just win the Mackey Award on accident.69. Jacksonville Jaguars | Kaleb McGary | OT | WashingtonJacksonville is going to need to do something at the right tackle position when Jermey Parnell is inevitably cut to salvage what they can from the salary cap problems they created from putting one of the best defenses in football on the field together.95. Jacksonville Jaguars (from LAR) | Anthony Johnson | WR | BuffaloLike the pick before it A. J. Johnson is a short-to-intermediate guy who lit it up for the last two years in true MACtion style at Buffalo.FUN FACT: No. 95 is the final pick in the third round, meaning that Easterling thinks the Los Angeles Rams win the Super Bowl on Sunday.102. Jacksonville Jaguars | Anthony Nelson | EDGE | IowaFinished last season with 13.5 tackles for a loss and 9.5 sacks. He’s huge at 6’ 7” and 271 pounds. I wonder if Easterling sees them using Nelson more as a Big End in the vein of what they have now for Calais Campbell.164. Jacksonville Jaguars | Myles Gaskin | RB | WashingtonNo sixth round picks so here we are in the seventh and final round of the NFL Draft and the Jaguars are finally address running back. The guy was a touchdown machine in four years at Washington, finding the end zone 62 times in 52 games. He never averaged less than 4.9 yards per carry and never finished with less than 1,321 yards from scrimmage in a single season. Sure <a title="Black T.J.

Here is everything we know about the Chicago Bears’ 2019 opponents White Trey Burton Jerseys , both preseason and regular season..."yet, but the Chicago Bears announced the teams that they’ll be playing during the preseason this year, and they are as follows. Week 1 (August 8-11) - Carolina Panthers at ChicagoWeek 2 (August 15-18) - Bears at New York GiantsWeek 3 (August 22-25) - Bears at Indianapolis ColtsWeek 4 (Thursday, August 29) - Tennessee Titans at ChicagoThe preseason finale, which always takes place on a Thursday, is the only date announced. The other three will be scheduled around the weekend listed. The NFL also announced the nationally televised preseason games, and the Bears didn’t get anyLast year, Chicago head coach Matt Nagy barely played his starters at all in the preseason, and while that was widely questioned at the time, the Bears went 12-4 and won their first division since 2010. They also had their fewest in-season injuries that I can remember, so maybe there was something to keeping his players fresh. We also know the Bears’ 2019 regular season opponents with the specific dates and times to be announced in a few weeks, and they are as follows.Home: Packers (Week 1 in the NFL 100th season opener), Vikings, Lions Trey Burton Jerseys 2019 , Saints, Chiefs, Chargers, Giants, CowboysRoad: Packers, Vikings, Lions, Rams, Raiders, Broncos, Eagles, Redskins The draft is just over a week away, so we’ll tackle your draft questions along with feelings on the upcoming season. All in this week’s mailbag."Photo by Joel Auerbach/Getty ImagesWe are exactly eight days away from opening night in the 2019 NFL draft. Despite the Chicago Bears not picking until No. 87, there’s plenty to be intrigued about as the draft process plays out. Not only are the Bears slated to have five picks next weekend White Cody Parkey Jerseys , but they should be very active in the undrafted free agent market with a roster currently set with 66 players. That means between the draft, undrafted players, plus more tryouts expected in rookie mini-camp at the start of May, they’ll need to add at least 24 players over the next few weeks. The roster currently sits at 66 after tight end Zach Miller announced his retirement, due to his serious knee injury that he suffered in the middle of the 2017 season that required a total of 10 surgeries. It’s also worth mentioning that the 2019 schedule release is scheduled for 7pm central time tonight and will be televised on both ESPN and the NFL Network. With all of that in mind, there’s always plenty to talk about when it relates to the Bears, so let’s get to it.The Bears have met with 17 different running backs in some way, shape or form. Of those meetings, there’s only been a handful that I would count as players that won’t be around if they stay at 87.There’s also quiet a few that are projected to go in rounds four through six, so it’s quite possible that general manager Ryan Pace could wait an extra round to grab arguably his “biggest” need.Of the three you mentioned, I think it’s very likely that both David Montgomery and Miles Sanders are gone if the Bears stay at 87. Devin Singletary is going to be interesting because people either love him as a top 80-90 talent or they have him grouped in with about 10 players with fourth and fifth round grades. For me, Singletary has a late third or early fourth, so I expect him to be around. They’ve also met with him on four different occasions including a private visit and workout. My gut still tells me they go running back in the third, but if they hold off until the fourth or fifth round here’s a few guys I like:Trayveon Williams (Texas A&M)Justice Hill (Oklahoma State)Bruce Anderson (North Dakota State)Rodney Anderson (Oklahoma)James Williams (Washington State)I feel like too many people make a big deal about the Bears schedule this year. I’ve seen an argument made that the Bears are playing a “first place schedule” this season Cody Parkey Jerseys 2019 , but fail to realize that only means 2 different teams from the rest of the NFC North.I’m not going to get too deep into this because predicting strength of schedules based on the previous year’s record, rarely equates to much of anything. If you’re looking for a better reason why none of this actually matter, Jonathan Wood’s piece on this exact topic is a must read.As far as the Bears roster turnover, I think when you compare it to other teams across the league, you’ll see that there has been a ton of change. Yes, they lost Bryce Callahan and Adrian Amos among others, but that’s only two starters on a defense loaded with Pro Bowlers and very good talent. An argument can be made that they may have gotten worse in those positions, but I think when you look at their overall additions plus the age of their team, there’s plenty of reason to believe this is still an ascending team. Keep in mind good teams lose talent all of the time, but are able to get by with lesser players or develop draft picks into better replacements. Keep in mind, the Bears defense gave up an average of 10.5 points-per-game over their final four games. That included missing Callahan, Eddie Jackson and even Aaron Lynch for portions of that.Good teams develop talent and most importantly, good teams have quality depth. That was something the Bears had last year and I expect that to continue in 2019, so I would not expect regression from a team that is built to not only win White Taylor Gabriel Jerseys , but continue to get better in their current window.Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky is going into Year 3 in his NFL career, but this will only be his second year in head coach Matt Nagy’s offense. It will also only be his third year of starting since high school. I think that’s important to keep in mind when comparing his progress to that of Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson.Trubisky was well on his way to a 3,600 yard season before his shoulder injury that forced him to miss two games in the second half of the season. When you combine those numbers with the context of him being in first year of a very complex offense, I don’t think it’s overly difficult to see him not only breaking the single-season passing yards mark, but possibly breaking the 4,000 yard marker as well.As long as he stays healthy and builds off his progress from the second half of the season, I see no reason why he can’t land right around that marker. I’ve gone back and re-watched Trubisky in the first three weeks of last year, versus where he ended up and the progression he made was actually pretty remarkable. I’m not sure I’d label it a make or break year for Trubisky, but in order for this team to take the next step, he’s going to play a large part. When looking at the team’s current “needs”, I think that term should be used lightly, at least in the short-term. I’d rank them like this:Running BackKickerDefensive BackOffensive GuardTight EndEdge RusherReceiverObviously running back is a position they will attack and I expect it to be addressed early. I’d also assume they’ll add another kicker, whether that’s a late-round pick or a priority undrafted free agent, we’ll have to wait and see. Defensive back is somewhat broad because cornerback depth is question and the Bears currently have just one safety under contract past this season. When looking at guard Taylor Gabriel Jerseys 2019 , that’s a position that I could see them pushing back another year. They have Rashaad Coward that will be taking work at both tackle and guard, so he could be a future replacement for Kyle Long. But this is a position where I see them maybe kicking the can down the road another year, as well as edge rusher. You can never have enough pass rushers, but the frequency of hitting on edge talent after the third round becomes very scarce. With the amount of future needs they have, it may make more sense to wait on edge and roll with what they have.It seemed like an eternity between years in which the Bears had a Pro Bowler before this past year. Then it seemed like the flood gates opened and Oprah was handing out Pro Bowl invitations in the team’s locker room like candy. This year, I’d like to a few key players to take the next step:Roquan SmithJames DanielsAllen RobinsonThis is a team with a lot of talent and a lot of young talent. Smith was last year’s eighth overall pick and seemed to get better every week. You don’t normally take inside linebackers in the top 10 unless you believe they are game changers. That’s exactly what I expect Smith to form into. With Daniels, I think he finished the year strong, after starting the season on the bench. Harry Hiestand is one of the top offensive line coaches in the league and it appears that Daniels is moving back to his more natural position at center. The combination of the move and him going into his second year, makes him another player that could take a sizable step and become a top center in 2019.Finally, Robinson is someone that signed for big money last offseason, but didn’t really impress in the box score. With that in mind, it was Year 1 of his rehabilitation coming off an ACL tear and usually players are back to normal, if not better in Year 2. He’s also just 25-years-old and flashed a lot of dominant potential down the stretch. It would not shock me at all to see him become the team’s best receiver since Alshon Jeffery left for Philadelphia a few years ago.

Howie Roseman has talked about how he uses free agency to make sure there aren’t any “must gets” once they reach the draft, and can instead add depth throughout the roster.1st - No. 25There’s been plenty of speculation as to whether the team will trade up or down, but for right now, the team will start off Thursday night’s Round 1 at the No. 25 overall spot. The event will kick-off at 8 p.m. ET, and will be aired on ABC, ESPN, and NFL Network. Each team gets 10 minutes on the clock for their first round picks, so should the Eagles not get involved in any kind of first round trades — and with teams (hopefully) having less names to rearrange on their big boards in Round 1 — Philadelphia’s pick should come in around 10-10:30 p.m. ET.Last 5 No. 25 picks:2018: Hayden Hurst (TE), Ravens2017: Jabrill Peppers (S), Browns2016: Artie Burns (CB), Steelers2015: Shaw Thompson (OLB), Panthers2014: Jason Verrett (DB), Chargers2nd - No. 53 (from Ravens)Round 2 and 3 will get underway on Friday evening, with the action beginning at 7 p.m. ET (again, airing on ABC, ESPN and NFL Network). Stewart (CB) Womens Timmy Jernigan Jersey , Buccaneers 2017: Teez Tabor (CB), Lions2016: Su’a Cravens (OLB), Washington2015: Jake Fisher (T), Bengals2014: Davante Adams (WR), Packers2nd - No. 57The Eagles will be on the board just four picks later at No. 57, probably around 8:30 p.m. ET.Brent Celek was scheduled to make the Round 3 pick for the team, but since they currently don’t have one, my bet is that he makes the second Round 2 pick for Philadelphia on Friday.Last 5 No. 57 picks:2018: Isaiah Oliver (CB), Falcons2017: Zach Cunningham (LB), Texans2016: T.J. Green (S), Colts2015: Rob Havenstein (T), Rams2014: Carlos Hyde (RB), 49ers4th - No. 127 The final day of the draft will see teams push through Rounds 4-7 on Saturday beginning at Noon p.m. ET, getting 5 minutes per pick in Rounds 4-6 and 4 minutes per pick in Round 7. The Eagles will have to wait until later in the fourth round to add another rookie to their roster, probably around 1:30 p.m. ET.The NFL announced several of the Day 3 picks will be made on location at sites chosen by teams around the country and world. Last year, Jason Avant made a pick in front of Independence Hall, so you can imagine what kind of spot the Eagles might have in mind.Last 5 No. 127 picks:2018: Rick Leonard (T), Saints2017: Michael Roberts (TE), Lions2016: Deiondre Hall (CB), Bears2015: Damien Wilson (ILB) Stefen Wisniewski Jersey , Cowboys2014: Pierre Desir (DB), Browns4th - No. 138 (compensatory)The Eagles have the final pick of Round 4, and should be back on the clock closer to 2 p.m. ET to finish it out.Last 5 No. 138 picks:2018: Cole Madison (G), Packers2017: Ryan Glassgow (DT), Bengals2016: Seth Devalve (TE), Browns2015: David Cobb (RB), Titans2014: Lorenzo Taliaferro (RB), Ravens5th - No. 163 Philly won’t be back on the clock until late in the fifth round giving you the perfect chance to do any random chores around the house — or take a quick nap. The Eagles should be ready to make their 6th selection of 2019 around 3-3:30 p.m. ET.Last 5 No. 163 picks:2018: Time Settle (DT), Washington2017: Matt Milano (LB), Bills2016: Trevor Davis (WR), Packers2015: Ryan Russell (DE), Cowboys2014: Aaron Murray (QB), Chiefs6th - No. 197As we get deeper in the rounds, they tend to get a little longer despite each pick going a little quicker. Teams don’t quite use the full clock, and there’s fewer trade options at this point. The Eagles final (scheduled) pick of the 2019 NFL Draft will come mid-way through Round 6 and should happen around 4:30-5 p.m. ET.Last 5 No. 198 picks:2018: Kahlil McKenzie (DT), Chiefs2017: D.J. Jones (DT), 49ers2016: Derek Watt (FB), Chargers2015: Randall Telfer (TE), Browns2014: Zach Moore (DE), Patriots The Philadelphia Eagles are “exploring multiple options” at cornerback ahead of the NFL trade deadline http://www.eagleslockerroom.com/authentic-carson-wentz-jersey , according to a report from NFL insider Jason La Canfora. One of those options we’ve already seen mentioned is Patrick Peterson. It sounds like the Arizona Cardinals won’t be dealing him, though. So, what else is out there for the Eagles?Well, La Canfora specifically mentioned Janoris Jenkins and Gareon Conley as two players that teams are “sniffing around on.” With the Giants clearly in fire sale mode, I don’t doubt that Jenkins is available. But I don’t think the 30-year-old corner makes sense for the Eagles. Jenkins would cost nearly $7 million in cap space for the rest of the 2018 season before carrying a $14.75 million figure in 2019. Conley makes much more sense for the Eagles. The 2017 first-round pick is only 23 years old. He’s inexpensive and under contract through at least 2020, prior to his fifth-year option potentially being activated for 2021. Conley has fallen out of favor with the Raiders as he’s been benched for former Eagles corner Daryl Worley. Conley might not be an instant difference-maker for the Eagles, but that’s OK. It doesn’t hurt for Philadelphia to think about the future of the position with Ronald Darby set to be a free agent and Jalen Mills not looking like a reliable long-term answer. For what it’s worth, the Eagles reportedly “loved” Conley heading into the 2017 NFL Draft. They ultimately passed on him at No. 14 overall, though, to select Derek Barnett. It’s entirely possible the sexual assault allegations against Conley scared the Eagles off from selecting him. It’s hard to say what Conley would cost. With the Raiders getting a 2019 first-round pick for Amari Cooper, they could very well have a high asking price. I wouldn’t give up more than a fourth-round pick, which is what 2016 first-round corner Eli Apple was traded for earlier this week.La Canfora also recently mentioned that the Eagles reached out to the Broncos about defensive backs Chris Harris Jr. and Bradley Roby. Acquiring Harris Jr. would cost around $4.8 million in cap space for the rest of this season. He’s then under contract at a reasonable $8.8 cap figure on the last year of his deal in 2019. The 29-year-old Harris is very versatile; he could immediately step in and play in the slot with Sidney Jones missing time. He could also handle playing on the outside.Roby, 26, is on the last year of his rookie deal. He’d be more of a rental unless the team has plans to re-sign him after this season. Though it’s clear the Eagles could use upgrades at corner, I kind of find it hard to believe will make significant changes at that position. Jim Schwartz has staunchly defended Mills despite the fact the third-year player is allowing the most yards in the league this season. I don’t see Darby, who’s had some good outings this season, getting benched either. Maybe the Eagles are really looking for slot help with Jones out, but they did show a lot of trust in Dexter McDougle against the Panthers.Again, the feeling here is that the Eagles’ best play is to try to buy low on a potential long-term player like Conley. They shouldn’t get so caught up in focusing on short-term rentals in an effort to save what could be a lost season.

Seminoles Gardner Minshew Jacksonville Jaguars Jerseys , 41-14. Also, the Jaguars travel to America’s armpit today, when they head to New Era Field to play the equally God awful Buffalo Bills, in a showdown for pole position at the top of the 2019 NFL Draft. Join us as we get through this together during the game, and keep it here for the postmortem following the alleged NFL match up.Live Blog:4:06 PM: The Jaguars got the ball back on their own 1 after the defense held and forced a punt, refused to be fielded by Westbrook. On the ensuing drive Bortles throws a high pass that deflects off of O’Shaughnessy’s hands into the arms of a Bills defender. This one is going to be over.3:57 PM: The refs did their damndest to help the Jags move the ball thanks to several penalties on the drive, but Blake is rushed on 3rd & 4 and throws it away. Chris Reed is awful. Jags pin the ball inside the Bills 5. 21-14 Buffalo, with 8:40 left in the game.3:49 PM: The defense holds, giving possession back to the Jaguars. God help us.3:43 PM: Andrew Norwell leaves the game with an apparent lower leg injury and is carted off the field. The Jaguars have the NFL equivalent of the Florida St. offensive line in the game now. They go three and out and honestly this game is likely done.3:34 PM: The defense falls apart on the ensuing drive after the madness of the Jags last possession, and it ends with Allen running it in from 11 yards out for the Bills touchdown. Bills lead, 21-14 with 14:52 left in the game.3:27 PM: Well hell, so Bortles connects with Donte Moncrief on a 30 yard throw that appears at first to be good for a touchdown as he fought for the ball with the defender. Upon review, Moncrief is ruled down at the 1. Following the play Jacksonville Jaguars Jerseys 2019 , a melee breaks out and leads to Fournette being tossed from the game for throwing punches at Bills linebacker Shaq Lawson, who is also tossed. The Jaguars get called for holding on a would-be touchdown from Westbrook. Bortles gets sacked on back to back plays. Lambo misses the field goal attempt to go ahead by 3. What a shit show.3:06 PM: Three and out for the Bills. Tashaun Gipson had a very good break up of a deep pass from Allen on the drive. Dede Westbrook returns it into Bills territory with 5:30 left in the third quarter, still knotted up at 14-14.3:00 PM: Fixing my laptop, they tried throwing, Jags got a 12 men on the field call to extend the drive but cant pass their own 30 yard line. Bills take over after the punt.2:53 PM: The Jaguars force the Bills to punt following a couple of good runs from Shady McCoy. If they pass the ball at all with Bortles again, I might throw this laptop.2:51 PM: Folks,,,,2:46 PM: The Jaguars open the second half and quickly go three and out as they mistakenly let Blake Bortles attempt forward passes on back to back plays.2:42 PM: As we get ready for the second half, a word from Jalen about the current state of both offenses..2:30 PM: The defense holds the Bills from getting into scoring range on a drive that included a Ramsey interception called back for one of the worst illegal contact calls I’ve ever seen. The teams go into halftime tied at 14.2:23 PM: The Bills pick off a deflected pass as Bortles throws way behind Keelan Cole who has to try and reach back for the pass, only for it to bounce off his fingers and into the chest of a Bills defender. I don’t know why Blake is being allowed to throw but here we are. Bills take over at their 40 with :33 left.2:21 PM: The Jaguars hold the Bills to another punt following penalties that resulted in a 3rd & 25 situation fro Buffalo. They’ll take over their 25 with 1:40 left in the first half.2:06 PM: TOUCHDOWN! It has become the Leonard Fournette Show in the second quarter, as Leonard breaks off a couple of double digit gains Youth Gardner Minshew Jersey , and is assisted by a 30 yard run from Dede Westbrook on a well executed end around, before 27 smashes his way into the end zone on an 8 yard that is called just short of the goal line on review. But he plunges in for the score three plays later to tie the game with 5:30 left in the first half. 14-14. The Jaguars have 182 yards rushing on the day thus far.1:56 PM: The Jaguars force a three and out for the second time today, as Malik Jackson cleans up Allen on as the pocket broke down around him on 3rd and 6. Jags will take over inside their 30 yard line, with about eight minutes to go in the half.1:49 PM: TOUCHDOWN! The Jaguars smartly decide to not let the quarterback attempt a forward pass, and instead use the legs of Fournette, Carlos Hyde, and TJ Yeldon, to drive 70 yards before Fournette punches it in from the 3 yard line. Jaguars get back into this thing, down 14-7 early in the 2nd quarter.1:35 PM: Josh Allen hits some rookie you likely never heard of for a 75 yard touchdown, as the receiver Robert Foster jogged smoothly by the drunken lemur in coverage that has become Barry Church. 14-0 Bills.1:29 PM: The Jaguars quickly respond, and by that I mean they go three and out, following a completed pass to Blake Bell, a batted ball that you could time with a sundial Gardner Minshew Jersey Color Rush , and a drop by Donte Moncrief. The Bills will take over after an initial ruling of a fumble recovery by the Jags on the ensuing punt return, but the Bills returner was clearly down and it will be overturned.1:22 PM: The Bills get a big pass play from Allen to Kelvin Benjamin with Jalen Ramsey in coverage, and tack on another 15 yards on a facemask penalty on Ramsey to get deep into Jags territory. They then capitalize on an end around to McKenzie who runs into the end zone untouched from 8 yards out. Bills lead early, 7-0.1:15 PM: A defensive holding call helps the Jags get out of the shadow of their own end zone, but on 3rd and 1 Bortles can’t convert as he dumps is on play action to Leonard Fournette, who is stuffed short of the marker. Awful play. Jags punt and Bills take over at their 30.1:06 PM: The Jaguars defense holds after a couple of broken plays lead to Allen running for a first down. The Bills pin the Jaguars at their own 2 yard line, however, following the punt. So you can expect the Bills to get the ball back shortly as we see Blake Bortles for the first time today.1:00 PM: The Jaguars win the toss and will defer to the second half, so we’ll see rookie QB Josh Allen versus the Jags defense first.11:40 AM: Here’s the Jaguars inactives, and one big name is somewhat surprisingly on it in defensive tackle Marcel Dareus. This is probably a downer for the former Bill in his first return to his former team.11:37 AM: Good morning! Hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving, stand by for the inactives and thanks for joining us for a Jacksonville Jaguars game in the Year of our Lord, 2018. Less than 24 hours after a heartbreaking loss to the Indianapolis Colts, Pro Bowl cornerback Jalen Ramsey is adding to the suffering. Early today he posted a tweet notifying the internet that he will be missed when he is gone. Not surprisingly the reaction was swift and varied. Responses ranged from “good riddance” to “don’t leave” to “we could use you on our team”. Context is always important when something like this is shared Womens Gardner Minshew Jersey , and there is a dire need for clarity. The tweet was followed by a series of motivational verses from the Christian bible, Jalen has not responded to any of the tweet’s comments nor has he offered any follow-up tweets to explain what he meant. The big question for the fan base is what the reasonable response should be to something lacking any point of reference. Is this simply a reaction to negative comments by the fans and/or the media? How much is this related to the emotions from a tough loss? Does this spotlight the selfishness of Jalen?Ramsey’s historical assertions that he is succeeding at his role, implying the fault is with others, have been interpreted as self-promotion. For those who read this tweet as sour grapes from a selfish player, local radio personality Rick Ballou expressed confusion related to Jalen’s tweet. Ballou serves as an on-field reporter during games, and on his afternoon radio show shared his observations of Jalen’s sideline disposition. He noted the star cornerback’s personality was more about a team player actively engaged with coaches and players. He gave specific examples of the Jalen actively engaged in fixing the bleeding that was the first half.It is more likely this is an emotional tweet from an immature player after a loss that all but ended the season. Local sports reporter Brent Martineau found this to be the case, and points out the reactions to offload Ramsey are equally as immature.Ramsey has been a lightning rod for controversy since being drafted, most recently because of his curt evaluations of quarterbacks around the league. With the team winning, his words are entertaining for the fans and annoyances for the opponents. A collection of meaty bulletin board material serving to elevate upcoming games. His immaturity was excused because he is such a competitor.Unfortunately, with the defense playing a first half reminiscent of pre-2017 Jaguars standards, Ramsey can be read as someone incapable of dealing with adversity. Those fans who tolerated Ramsey’s persona are now more comfortable to express just how irritating he is. Furthermore, compared to the team focused comments from Calais Campbell, Arby Jones Gardner Minshew Jacksonville Jaguars Jerseys , and Malik Jackson, telling all who “can” read that they will miss you lacks a maturity to read the room.If you consider Ramsey has taken considerable effort to block many people on Twitter, it may be a better read of this tweet if we see it simply as a player responding to fan overreaction. He has not indicated any desire to leave the team, and nothing is being reported of him as a toxic clubhouse element. None of this will mean anything to anyone who has grown tired of his antics and would rather see the team look for a high return on investment. Still, we have no idea what this is in response to, be it something specific or general criticisms, and speculating to the negative seems more about fostering present suffering. From the front office to the fan base, this has been 180 degrees from where we thought this team would be. We are all probably better served to just let folks express this grief in their own way.Ask yourself this, is Jalen wrong to say we will miss him when he is gone?

Glover Quin had a chance to stop Anthony Miller.

He ended up on the ground on the sideline Kyle Long Jerseys Stitched , watching as Miller sped toward the end zone.It was that kind of day for Detroit’s secondary.Playing without injured cornerback Darius Slay, the Lions were picked apart by Mitchell Trubisky in a 34-22 loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday. Quin, DeShawn Shead and Nevin Lawson each had costly missed tackles, and coverage issues created large swatches of open green grass for Allen Robinson and the rest of Chicago’s receivers.“It is on us,” Quin said. “We have to turn it around. At the end of the day, we’re the ones out there playing. We have to get it fixed.”Detroit (3-6) had played well against the pass in its first year under coach Matt Patricia, who was New England’s defensive coordinator for six seasons before taking over the Lions in February. But the secondary issues for the Lions in their third consecutive loss looked more like their old teams than anything from Patricia’s time with the Patriots.“Ran into each other on one particular big play. We had a communication thing on another one,” Patricia said. “But look, in the end Youth Anthony Miller Jerseys , I just got to do a better job coaching it up and getting them in the right positions and we got to go out and execute.”The trouble began on the first drive of the game. Shead was unable to bring down Robinson on a slant, and he ran all the way down to the Detroit 3 for a 35-yard play. Tarik Cohen carried the ball in for the Bears (6-3) on the next play.Shead got the start in place of Slay, who was sidelined for the first time this season because of a knee injury.“Look, we’re going to play with whoever’s healthy and whoever’s ready to go,” Patricia said. “So, for us, if you’re out on the field you got to perform. You got to go out and execute. So obviously we didn’t do a good job early on with our execution in the back end.”The 29-year-old Shead had more trouble in the final minute of the first quarter. Chicago was facing third-and-15 at the Detroit 36 when Shead was beaten by Robinson at the line. He caught up, but couldn’t find the ball as Robinson adjusted to make the catch in the end zone.It was more of the same in the second quarter. Miller was wide open on a reception on the right side of the field. Quin came over and tried to bring him down near the 20, but Miller ran through his tackle attempt for a 45-yard touchdown that made it 19-0 with 11:24 left in the first half.“We just have to execute better Anthony Miller Jerseys Stitched ,” Shead said. “Just go in, look at the tape and just see, I mean the little things, the little mistakes. I know … one play was miscommunication on my part on the back end. Just being on the same page and just jelling together and executing.”Chicago led 26-7 at halftime. Trubisky was 14 for 16 for 209 yards at the break with a perfect passer rating of 158.3.The Lions’ chances for a comeback took a hit when Robinson ran out of Lawson’s tackle attempt for a 26-yard TD reception in the third quarter.Detroit began the weekend ranked fourth in the NFL with just 214.6 yards passing allowed per game. But Trubisky finished with a career-high 355 yards through the air, and Robinson and Miller each went over 100 yards receiving.“There’s a combination of a lot of fundamentals right now that need to be better across the board,” Patricia said. “Tackling is one of them, but there’s certainly, obviously, a bunch of things we need to work on.”Bears vs Packers Injury Report: No Bear linebackers are listed The Chicago Bears are entering week 1 in good shape in the injury department. They only have one player ruled out Youth Mitchell Trubisky Jerseys , backup safety DeAndre Houston-Carson. Tight end Daniel Brown has been officially ruled doubtful. Houston-Carson hasn’t practiced since he broke his arm a couple weeks ago, but the injury report also lists him with a back injury. Brown was limited in practice this week, but he’s been nursing a shoulder injury for a couple weeks now. These are the only two Bears’ with an injury designation for Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers. Starting offensive guard, Kyle Long, was held out of practice today, but that was just a veteran day of rest for the 29-year old. Rookie inside linebacker Roquan Smith had no limitations all week and should be ready to play some on Sunday Night. The same goes for outside linebacker Leonard Floyd, who has been practicing all week with a club on his broken hand. Floyd will likely start, whereas Smith may backup Nick Kwiatkoski.Newcomer Khalil Mack also practiced with no restrictions all week, but head coach Matt Nagy is playing it coy with his playing time projections. “There’s a good shot Mitchell Trubisky Jerseys Stitched , good shot of him playing.” Nagy said. “We just don’t know how much.”Outside linebacker Aaron Lynch, who missed most of the offseason with a hamstring injury, was also a full participant all week for the Bears. For the Packers, they list linebackers Oren Burks (shoulder) and James Crawford (hamstring) as questionable. Safety Josh Jones has been ruled out.

Chargers beginning in 2020 has reached another mile post in its construction.Via Joe Reedy of the Press Youth Thomas Davis Jerseys , the outer shell of the stadium’s canopy was completed last week with stadium officials holding a ceremony Monday to mark the occasion. The stadium is now approximately two-thirds com g the excavation for the building pushed back the schedule. It also led the NFL to move Super Bowl LV from Los Angeles to Tampa for the 2020-21 season and bump L.A’s hosting duties back a year to Super Bowl LVI in February 2022. FOXBOROUGH Thomas Davis Jerseys Stitched , Mass. (AP) — Patriots defensive end Trey Flowers says thinking about how to defend against the Los Angeles Chargers has kept him up at night.“Over the bye I had a dream about not setting the edge,” Flowers said this week. “I woke up and it was a nightmare.”New England’s leader this season with 7½ sacks, it was Flowers who gave opposing offenses fits as part of a defense that’s had its struggles but did just enough during the regular season to earn victories against some of the NFL’s top quarterbacks including Andrew Luck, Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers. The Patriots’ next challenge is Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers , who will arrive in Foxborough on Sunday still looking for his first playoff victory (0-2) against New England and his first win over the Patriots with Tom Brady as the starting quarterback.Rivers is 1-5 overall in regular-season meetings with New England, with his lone victory coming in 2008 when Brady was sidelined with a knee injury. He has yet to throw a touchdown pass against the Patriots in the postseason. But Flowers said none of Rivers’ past shortcomings are evident when he dissects the 37-year-old quarterback on film.“He’s definitely a veteran that’s been very successful over his career,” Flowers said. “I guess the experience just allows him to know that he can take over the offense Youth Tyrod Taylor Jerseys , he can change things. It’s just one of those things where you’ve got to be aware that he can come in and take over.”Patriots coach Bill Belichick said in that way the challenge of defending Rivers is not unlike the one Pittsburgh’s Ben Roethlisberger presents. Both are big presences in the pocket, giving them the ability to spot open receivers. Their size also makes them difficult to tackle.“Makes good decisions with the ball, uses everybody — as he always does,” Belichick said. That said, defenses have been able to get to Rivers with the pass rush this season. He was sacked 32 times during the regular season, up from 18 a year ago.A perennial 4,000-yard passer Tyrod Taylor Jerseys Stitched , Rivers is among the NFL’s best quarterbacks at throwing the deep ball. But according to analysis done by Football Outsiders, the Patriots finished the regular season second only to the Chicago Bears at defending passes that travelled at least 16 yards in the air .The Patriots also enter Sunday’s divisional round having forced eight turnovers in the final three games of the regular season.Rookie cornerback J.C. Jackson was responsible for one of those turnovers, an interception against Buffalo. One of New England’s latest undrafted gems, he finished with three interceptions on the season.
