All Elder Scrolls Online Expansions Revealed

In the eight years that ESO has been out, it's seen a lot of expansions come and go. Many of them were great and served to deepen the core game, while others didn't live up to expectations.

High Isle is the latest addition to ESO and it's a return to form for ZeniMax Online Studios and Bethesda. It introduces new companions, a beautiful location, political intrigue and unforgettable fantasy.

Elsweyr

Located in the south of Tamriel, Elsweyr is an area of deserts and canyons that’s home to Khajiit cat-like creatures. However, the region is now under threat from dragons.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr is an expansion for the massively multiplayer online role-playing game, introducing a new zone and bringing back dragons to ESO for the first time. Players will be tasked with saving the Khajiit homeland and defending their land from these winged beasts. It also introduces a new character class, the Necromancer. This new class specializes in summoning dead creatures and using their powers to imbue them with elemental power, while also reviving fallen allies. High Isle

While some recent Elder Scrolls Online expansions have been disappointing, High Isle manages to balance a political questline with unforgettable fantasy. The story is well-paced and introduces several new companions, a beautiful location, and a card game that's sure to attract many players.

One of the most exciting additions to the Chapter is a new collectible card game that is available at various taverns throughout the island chain. It's not quite Hearthstone or Magic: The Gathering, but it's a fun competitive deck builder that allows players to battle other NPCs and human opponents in matches. This adds another dimension to the gameplay and can be a great way to break up your main quests or just play a few hours of casual or competitive gaming while on the go.

Necrom

The Elder Scrolls Online's next expansion, Necrom, introduces a new class and two new zones to explore. You'll be able to discover gigantic mushrooms on the Telvanni Peninsula, and visit Apocrypha, Hermaeus Mora's mysterious realm of Oblivion.

You'll also be able to master a new class, the Arcanist, who can use ancient tomes of power and forbidden knowledge to destroy enemies or support allies. The Arcanist will have three skill lines - Herald of the Tome, Curative Runeforms, and Apocryphal Soldier - that can be enhanced by a new resource called Crux.

As you're exploring these new areas, you'll discover many things along the way, including a whole lot of new collectibles, antiquities, item sets, achievements, and more. And you can expect some mind-bending mystery too, as Hermaeus Mora's secrets are threatening everything that he stands for.

Lost Depths

As part of the Legacy of the Bretons story arc, Zenimax is giving us a chance to explore two new dungeons in Lost Depths. These are Earthen Root Enclave and Graven Deep, a pair of four-player dungeons that will add new story beats, item sets and collectibles to the game.

These dungeons also have some new challenges, such as encountering packs of Pangrits that spit poison acid at you. They’re not optional, however, and you’ll want to have a plan for how to deal with them.

You’ll also encounter creatures like fauns and deers, as well as sentient trees that need to be cleared out as quickly as possible. Eventually, you’ll come across the Euphotic Gatekeeper - and his giant horde of enemies. This is a pretty big beast, and it takes a little bit of work to defeat him. Thankfully, you can find some mighty armor sets in this dungeon to help you take on his enemies.
