I Do Concur That The Fix On Tier 70/75 Is Moot

Why can't smithing be reworked to be a better ability whilst feeling"old school"? Furnace could still be the best possible experience rates and the go-to procedure so it's nothing like training the ability of smithing becomes any different. Even if rune alch prices do not change, I'd still bet that the GE value of rune pubs and ore could increase to the point that smithing and alching rune would not be super rewarding, then monsters that fall rune ore and pubs could be adjusted to fall somewhat less to make up for the increased market worth (honestly not super essential ). There is probably other pieces of a rework to be looked at, but it could be completed in a way that still feels old school while also being much more picky about RS gold play loop. Smithing just has low value as a skill, as it stands, it should get a rework.

Thanks! That is a outline of how it potentially sense oldschool and could work, and a good argument to get a Smithing rework. I think we are agreed about the issue of"oldschool-ness" That's essentially how I see it, new things can feel oldschool. I think there isn't much appetite for skill reworks. A basic rework like changing the numbers around level / source requirements to make iconic things will probably never"feel right" to a lot of RuneScape players, even if it's inkeeping with the oldschool style. Because it's such a change to aspects of RuneScape which have been unchanged for almost 20 years.

I only want skills to be helpful from 1 to 99. I don't believe the mechanics although I like the rework RS3 did need just a rebalancing of levels, a rework. I adore the idea of just lowering everything until Rune is level 75 with you end game items being 80+ to your own boots and Dragon repairs. I think about 80 you need to make that's not even weapons or Armour. Or something that will make smithing useful herblore. Herblore is for being useful and useful to lv 1 to 99, your golden skill.

I've thought about reworking Smithing before buy old school rs gold was released, but there is a really reasonable argument to be made that it would totally change part of the original game in such a significant way that RuneScape might not feel like an oldschool variant anymore. Whenever I think of how cool it would be to make Smithing a usable ability, I instantly recall being like 12 years old, smithing iron platebodies for coins and the way that nostalgia will be gone. The ability is so old ingrained to the first version of RuneScape, that changing it goes against OSRS's idea. It makes total sense to alter it, but it has to be reworked COMPLETELY. It would really be less disturbing to depart as it is, smithing and present a new ability to complement smithing rather, but even skills get shut down regardless of how well designed they are. People don't wish to alter RuneScape.
