Cause why not, the matter with times periods and hard HP caps is that they become very boring as soon as you reach a specific stage. This implies to get a top tier pvmer they're dull daily one, to someone good they're boring after a few days, and every OSRS gold player finds them boring after a few years of electricity creep. Unless jagex will go around and rebalance content constantly (they need to do it more frequently but they are not going to) then mechanics like that are just terrible design. Look at rax - to an ordinary player doing old darkness path was dreadful, since it was easily over 1/4 of your whole kill time spent doing nothing of consequence.

On launch phase 1 rax was balanced. You needed to be great but you'd find the hp down as the web was. Now in 2020, phase one is"stand around and tap boss simulator" that requires nearly double the time the normal player would get through it once they know the boss. P2 on path 2 is exactly the same, if you know the boss at all you will be stood about on the ramp only frightening avoiding mechanics exhausted out your own mind. Hard phase points have potential to be fun an engaging but they generally do not age well. Time gates are only unfun, and stages that become time gates as power creep occurs aren't enjoyable.

Looks like they're coping with mechanics to me. Until the egg bombs go off they're picking to tank the hit with harm reducing debil since it is and they are doing every other mechanic. It's not like they are pushing a stage change by ignoring freeing people or employing damage. If they do the 1 mechanic they're opting to take a hit that is barely and it wouldn't be seen by you most of the time. Would it be elitist of me to refuse to play with competitive manners in CS, or league, or some other game, below me with someone multiple positions?

Personally, I have no issues playing different games in casual modes with old school rs gold players who are worse than me, and also in RS - if we are only doing some casual conducts, or better still, if I am teaching, I don't care at all about kill times. However, if I'm looking to set a new record, or earn a bunch of cash, yeah I'm likely to be strict on who I perform. No doubt, there's a difference between"elitists" and"toxic elitists", and a few people definitely cross the line, but there's literally no reason I can't refuse to pvm with somebody.
