Obviously, as a rather inactive participant, I do not have a holistic sufficient understanding of this sport to propose a few acceptable ways of doing that. Mine would probably be 99 Defense. It had been in my list due to the importance of protection at tanking. I have not had members because 2006 so I needed to complete it in freeplay of course, that was murder. During the summers I would play for 1.5-2 hours each day to get 50k defense encounter. Even though it was a brief time period, it had been such a nuisance to log in and get that because I was not really considering the match at that point.

What saved me was that the reintroduction of the wilderness in 2011 and much more significantly the shunning of Revenants into a dungeon. It enabled me to AFK in Ice Warriors in the jungle for the 50k xp per day I received in the summertime since players never frequented the place. Nevertheless took a couple of years though because I couldn't will myself to log in for over two hours, even AFK. I finally got it in the summer of 2012 and I was relieved to get it over with. Ironically, soon after I achieved 99 Defense EOC came out and murdered clanning, so that I have not been able to tank along with my 99 defense. The last time I tanked was a fun war involving Sals Realm and some other clan, in which point I was 98 Defense.

Honorable mentions: I led a clan back in the afternoon, slightly proud of this (though I had been far from a perfect leader.) My initial 99, firemaking. I am very happy that I stuck through it and didn't quit. I had a knack for performing nicely in Sals steel war things and cheap OSRS gold snowball fights (air strike struggles ). Probably because I was a high level but never the maximum level, as the maximum level was constantly stacked .
