Diablo 2 Resurrected does not have a formal launch date yet, despite being declared at BlizzConline some time past. However, Blizzard has opened a specialized alpha program for this. It appears that one of the users were able to record some gameplay footage and has uploaded it on their YouTube channel.

While there was nothing inherently wrong with all the first Diablo 2's HUD, it seems a bit dated in the current calendar year. Diablo 2 Resurrected reimagines it from a minimalist view, cutting back on the obnoxiously big endurance bar. The health and mana pub still occupy their position on the left and right corner of the display, respectively. The storage and inventory UI get a slight redesign also. Even the skill tree has been remade from the bottom up.

So far as the actual Diablo 2 Resurrected gameplay is concerned, everything ranging from the flooring to skill projectiles gets a new coat of paint. Enemies and bosses alike secure new character versions. We even get to see glimpses of Andariel and Mephisto. The character creation screen appears to be rather close to the original. However, there's no telling exactly which of those elements will allow it to Diablo 2 Resurrected's final edition.

"This is not a remake," says Rod Fergusson, who has been in charge of things Diablo at Blizzard since ancient 2020. He is talking about Diablo 2: Resurrected, a new remaster announced at BlizzCon. There are spiffy new 3D graphics and a few contemporary conveniences in Resurrected, but expect it to feel much as the Diablo 2 published in 2000--because it pretty much is. "We're not attempting to reverse-engineer the match and build it from scratch to look like D2," Fergusson states. "This is D2. This is the same core gameplaythe exact same story and buy Diablo 4 Gold tone, even the very same voices of the very same actors."
