The two teams went into the locker room at halftime with the score tied at 3-3 and neither team really able to do much on offense. In the second half, Kyle Sloter took over at quarterback for the relatively ineffective Trevor Siemian, and pretty well solidified his spot on the 53-man roster. After Siemian went 6-of-11 for 55 yards in the first half, Sloter went 11-of-15 for 130 yards and a 24-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Zylstra.Zylstra led the Vikings in receiving on the night, and definitely made his case to be included on the 53-man roster as well.The battle for the #3 running back spot appears to have been decided this evening as well. Roc Thomas got some carries early on, but departed before halftime with what appeared to be a left ankle injury. Boone also chipped in a pair of receptions for 53 yards, including a 46-yard catch and run on a screen pass.Daniel Carlson, who had some definite issues against the Seattle Seahawks in the third preseason game, was 2-for-2 on field goals on Thursday night against the Titans, connecting from 39 yards in the first half and 22 yards in the second half.The Vikings finish their preseason with a record of 3-1, and will host the San Francisco 49ers a week from Sunday in the regular season opener. The loss for the Titans tonight concludes a winless preseason for them (0-4), and they’ll start the regular season on South Beach with a contest against the Miami Dolphins.We’ll have plenty more to talk about with this game over the next 24 hours or so, and then we’ll turn our attention to the final roster cutdown, which need to be completed by 3:00 PM Central time on Saturday afternoon.The Minnesota Vikings conclude the 2018 preseason with a 13-3 barnburner over the Tennessee Titans.
