I can't tell if it is intended to be serious or not, but it seems pretty mean-spirited even for a joke.

I know they're breaking the rules and that is not good for anybody in a gambling community, particularly not one with its own market. I'm not saying gold farming ought to be allowed complete stop. But I would believe if any scenario called for a little compassion and tact, it would be one.
