I get that there is two phases, but what if a player is acquired by you and you wish to extend them but you can't because the expansion period happens before the deadline?

In-season contract extensions are a huge huge plus for this! Kinda frustrated that scouting hasn't been touched on; just how the cpu generates prospect player designs (they always seem weird) and the scouting mechanics as a whole. It is almost too simple to scout in that sense and in my opinion it takes that scouting requires in the game that is actual. To put it differently, the present means to scout players is almost too simple and you don't really get to know every player you're scouting. I'm excited for MLB The Show 19! I just wish they'd have spent a bit more effort in business.

You may get into a situation where it does not make sense financially to measure a participant whenever you've got a The show 19 stubs younger guy needing the playing time or there is a much better FA hitting the market.
