The popular tourist attraction closed for the upgrade in October 2006 and has faced ongoing delays in reopening the facility.

Hepburn Regional Tourism Association president Carol Hulst says the town's main source of information about the project should not have to be rumours coming from the work site.

"The community can deal with the truth as long as we can actually get that information to them and then they can plan around that," she said.

"It is impacting Golden Goose our operators.

"I have heard of one report where the guests pulled out of an accommodation booking because the bathhouse wasn't going to be open and originally it was."

Major Projects Victoria says the Bathhouse Ccommittee was last given an update about the project in December.
