A tight end at #8?"The offseason is only a few weeks old at this point. The questions about what the Lions will do in the acquisitions department over the next few months. Free Agency will answer some of those questions. But the NFL Draft is where the fans will get to see what the teams long term future may look like. The team has a lot of needs. Whether it be a pass rusher White T.J. Hockenson Jersey , a corner, a receiver or an offensive lineman. There’s a lot of things on the shopping list. One analyst, who somehow looks exactly the same as he did in 1994 Youth T.J. Hockenson Jersey , believes that Bob Quinn will spring for a tight end in the very first round.An interesting choice by Kiper here. It’s true that the Lions do need a tight end. It’s also true that Quinn tried to secure one throughout last years offseason and during the regular season. It’s a position that the Lions believe is important. But is the eighth pick really the right way to go with that position? Especially considering that this tight end class is one of the deepest ever. It seems as though Quinn may not think so. But it is smokescreen season, so we’ll see soon enough. The sports team at the Detroit Free Press recently got together to try to decipher which Detroit sports team could be the next to win a championship in it’s respective sport. With the exception of Anthony Fenech doing a four way tie, not one writer picked the Lions to be the next team. One did pick an interesting head coaching candidate for the Lions to hire if they fire Matt Patrica though. Our pals over at Lions Wire put together a pretty good list of restricted free agents the Lions can try to pry away from teams next month. Karen Given of NPR put together a great article on Detroit Lions reporter Tori Petry’s foray into the world of semi-professional football. It’s a great read and shows how tough Petry is.
