Rap artist Lil Durk claims he is taking some time off to recoup after being hurt by a pyrotechnic at the Lollapalooza event in Chicago.

The 29-year-old was playing to a group of thousands when a smoke bomb went off in his face on Saturday night.

In fan-captured video, he was seen astonishing backwards from the device and cleaning his eyes with a tee shirt.

He ended up the performance, Lil Durk later posted an image from hospital with a spot over one eye.

" Because of the incident that happened at Lollapalooza in Chicago on stage, I' ma take a break & concentrate on my health," he captioned the image on Instagram.

" I finished my efficiency yesterday for my fans. Value y' all.".

Lil Durk has more than 20 United States scenic tour dates scheduled prior to completion of the year. It is not yet clear how many of those concerts will be affected.

Lollapalooza has not talked about the event, which came as Lil Durk was executing the track Back In Blood throughout his early evening set.

"That one came a little close. It fired directly up.".

Lil Durk took a couple of moments to collect himself prior to continuing his performance. "No more smoke, let's do it," he informed the packed crowd, according to Web page 6.

The drill celebrity scored his 2nd United States top in March, with his 7th studio cd 7220. The document had his most significant hit to day, Broadway Girls, with country singer Morgan Wallen.

Their cooperation raised a few eyebrows, as Wallen had actually been involved in debate after a video clip arised showing him yelling the N-word outside his home in Nashville.

The singer was momentarily put on hold by his document label and also outlawed by a number of country music television and radio terminals.

Lil Durk later on safeguarded Wallen, saying he was "not a racist" and had "just slipped up".

" We had a lengthy talk. He had his public scenario ... I vouch for him as well as he good," the rapper added.
