It was a move that was expected by many, but McDermott made the move official during Wednesday’s press conference - relegating Nathan Peterman to the backup role. Today’s edition of the Bills Links includes plenty of feedback and analysis of the switch, with feedback from Allen’s teammates including LeSean McCoy, Micah Hyde, and Jeremy Kerley.Bills' McDermott said starting Allen is what's best for the team | WGR 550 SportsRadioThe head coach wasn't willing to give his reasons for starting AllenLeSean McCoy excited for Josh Allen, says Nathan Peterman 'had his shot' | NewYorkUpstate.comMcCoy said Bills have to 'move on' and help Josh Allen in first start.Welcome to the league, rook!: Media members react to Buffalo Bills naming Josh Allen starter | NewYorkUpstate.comJosh Allen will be the second rookie quarterback to start this season.OBL 9/12: Reaction to Josh Allen being named starting QB - BuffaloBills.comBills rookie QB Josh Allen was named the starting QB for Sunday’s home opener against the Chargers. Instead of being competitive with the Ravens, the Bills (0-1) were outclassed in every aspect of the game, suffering a humiliating, humbling, and demoralizing 47-3 setback in Baltimore on Sunday. On the latest edition of the Buffalo Rumblings Podcast, host John Boccacino and co-host Anthony Marino dissect the embarrassing defeat to the Ravens. There wasn’t much to like from this debacle in Baltimore. Listen to our podcast to find out what, if anything, was a positive from this blowout Zay Jones Jerseys Stitched , and hear what our podcasters think about the quarterback position, the offensive line, the wide receivers, and all the areas that Buffalo needs to improve upon. There were very few positives to take away from Sunday’s demoralizing season-opening loss by the Bills at rainy M&T Bank Stadium. One positive? Thanks to Stephen Hauschka’s 35-yard field goal late in the third quarter, Buffalo avoided their third season-opening shutout, a feat accomplished in 1977 (a 13-0 loss to the Miami Dolphins) and 1983 (a 12-0 setback to the Dolphins). The Bills managed to go the ENTIRE first half without recording a first down, while allowing Joe Flacco and the Ravens offense to score five times and pile up yards en route to a 26-0 halftime lead.Nathan Peterman proved once again that preseason stats are meaningless. After putting up one of the best preseasons of any quarterback in the league, Peterman regressed big-time, completing only five of 18 passes for 24 yards, two interceptions, and an abysmal quarterback rating of 0.0. Rookie Josh Allen fared better, though it would have been difficult to look more inept than Peterman did vs. the Ravens. The only bright spots (and these must be taken with a grain of salt Robert Foster Jersey , given the overall awfulness of the Bills) were the running and return game of Marcus Murphy (six carries for 31 yards, averaged 33 yards per run back on five kickoff returns), the punting of Corey Bojorquez (averaged nearly 50 yards on eight punts), and the play of rookie linebacker Tremaine Edmunds (six tackles, plus a sack and a forced fumble in the second quarter). Who should McDermott turn to for Week 2’s home opener vs. the Los Angeles Chargers? What’s up with Vontae Davis, who was supposed to start as the No. 2 cornerback but instead was a healthy scratch? Can anything be done to solidify a porous offensive line that allowed six sacks and struggled in both the run blocking and pass protection? These questions are addressed in this sure-to-be-inspiring podcast!
