The Land Out of Time is the latest in several RuneScape updates place to start during the next year that will discover the historical past, including actions and new quests of Gielinor. A prologue quest, Desperate Times, was published in May, while players helped the in-game shipbuilders collect resources to complete a ship seaworthy enough to reach the new landmass, using eight different skills including Farming, Magic, Smithing, and Crafting, in the recent limited time occasion, Breaking the Storm.

Dave Osborne, Lead Designer, RuneScape, stated:"We are very excited that after 11 years the shipbuilders of Varrock have finished their boat and we could set sail to The Land Out of Time. The launch of today brings important new techniques to play in RuneScape, not the mortal cat-and-mouse match with our dinosaurs in Big Game Hunter, and also the longest agility class in Gielinor ever, that goes around Anachronia's entire landmass. We can not wait to begin showing more of the mystery surrounding the island over the weeks ahead!"

The island of Anachronia is available for players of all expertise levels, with a few activities needing different tiers of skill requirements in order to buy RS gold participate.
