Blow molding is one of the common methods used by injection mold manufacturers to manufacture plastic parts. Injection molding is mainly utilized in the manufacturing of polymers and plastics. The word, plastic mold, just means plastic molding with molded plastic as the main raw material. The molded plastic is made from two main parts, the mold of the injection mold machine and the fixed mold. Blow molding refers to the process of manufacturing a part by blow molding, which consists of a fixed mold being filled with a powdered plastic compound, typically polyurethane or calcium sand, and a dielectric fluid is also added. The end result is a shaped object made by the injected gas.

Plastic injection molds are available for manufacture of many kinds of blow molded products. Common among them are bumpers, neon signs, buttons, screws, handles, racks, shelving and many more. With the advent of computerized machining, there are new opportunities to provide high quality as well as cost efficient blow molded products. In particular, extrusion Blow Molding Parts, popularly known as "hot stamped" parts are very much in demand today.

There are two basic types of plastic manufacturing molding techniques: the hot-stamping technique and cold-stamping technique. In the hot-stamping technique, a hot plastic mold (which is under pressure) is pressed against a thin steel mold (which is not under pressure). The metal mold is pushed in the plastic, while the plastic flows in a closed cycle until the mold walls collapse and the plastic drops into the mold. The cold-stamping technique is quite different.

In the cold-stamping technique, an injection unit is used to pressurize a plastic mold. A reciprocating screw provides this pressure. The plastic material is fed into the unit from the side and the material passes through the system of injection feeders in succession. After the plastic is passed through the system, a second cylindrical injection unit is also used to pressurize the same mold. This unit pushes on the plastic mold walls using a rotary screw. This process results in the formation of three-dimensional objects out of the plastic mold.

When blow moulding products in this manner, it is necessary to maintain clear separation between the melted plastic and molten metal. Merely pressing these two things together will give you very little results. To ensure that no liquid leaks out, special valve devices are installed in injection mold machines. These valve devices prevent the escape of liquid during the process and prevent the metal from spreading. Also, it helps in preventing the occurrence of excessive melting. If you wish to know the in and outs of the entire blow moulding procedure, it would be better to consult an expert who can teach you all the tricks.

Another important point that you should keep in mind, when planning to go in for injection moulding or blow molding services is the number of perforations. The higher the number of perforations, the more durable the object will be. However, the more perforations there are in your object, the more expensive the object will be. If you do not have an idea about the number of perforations and their sizes, it would be better if you ask the experts. They would help you in estimating the cost that needs to be incurred in order to produce your product.
