They rarely seem like fish at all with their bizarre form, foot-like fins and warty pores and skin. Cuttlefish and other cephalopods have up to 200 cells named chromatophores for every sq. millimeter of skin floor, which they can use to change coloration almost quickly, generating red, brown, yellow, black and a range of metallic blues, greens, golds and silvers. Frogfishes don't just consume tiny prey, their mouths and stomachs can broaden to accomodate a meal greater than the measurement of their possess entire body. I was photographing something on the seabed at Anilao when I found this cuttlefish less than a meter away, making like a rock by bringing its 8 arms and two tentacles in shut to its physique and taking on a dark colour. Ironically, cuttlefish have excellent vision other than that they're color blind, so they're not very good at matching the actual coloration of the qualifications, but they are however so excellent at what they do that if positioned on a submerged chessboard, they think a pattern of squares on their very own system.
