Author and campus lecturer Josh McDowell reminded a college audience that the seventh commandment is a gracious provision by God, supplied for our protection. Is not the clergyman who vainly pronounces holy matrimony over an adulterous union basically violating the 3rd commandment and having the Lord’s identify in vain? GWN one Corinthians 6:19 Don't you know that your body is a temple that belongs to the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit, whom you been given from God, life in you. Therefore honor God with your body" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Indeed, God the Father created our bodies, God the Son redeemed them, and God the Holy Spirit indwells them. If God meant simply to express the idea that the Spirit life inside the believer, He could nicely have applied words and phrases such as "home," "house," or "residence." But by choosing the term "temple" to explain the Spirit’s dwelling, He conveys the plan that our bodies are the shrine, or the sacred area, in which the Spirit not only life, but is worshiped, revered, and honored.
