Though no one was killed in either of these incidents, many consultants believe that it's only a matter of time before a shoulder-fired missile brings down a business airliner, leading to a whole bunch of civilian deaths. The risk of such a catastrophe prompted the Department of Homeland Security to conduct a three-yr examine to test the feasibility of putting in missile defense programs, tailored from navy applications, on all turbojet aircraft used in scheduled air service.
