A Washington Post/ABC News national poll of American grownups taken in the aftermath of the rally confirmed that 56% disapproved of Trump's reaction to the violence in Charlottesville, while only 28% accepted. On August 16, Representatives Jerrold Nadler of New York, Pramila Jayapal of Washington condition and Bonnie Watson Coleman of New Jersey unveiled a resolution that the a few House Democrats co-authored, which would censure Trump for his "inadequate reaction to the violence", his "failure to promptly and specifically identify and condemn the white supremacist teams liable for steps of domestic terrorism", and for using chief strategist Steve Bannon and countrywide protection aide Sebastian Gorka irrespective of their "ties to white supremacist actions". On August 16, right after the members of the advisory councils moved to disband, Trump dissolved the two councils. In late August, eight of the 28 customers of the National Infrastructure Advisory Council resigned, stating in a joint letter that Trump "threatened the stability of the homeland".
